Nucleate Boiling is a topic of interest for various industrial applications, such as heat exchangers, fluid management in micro-gravity for space applications or spray cooling. Whereas some macroscopic models or semi-empirical correlations can provide realistic results in different configurations, the capabilities of such models are often limited by a lack of understanding about the microscopic details involved in the whole process. The case study gives a sample process of using ansys fluent to a reasonable level for investigating the phenomenon of departure from nucleate boiling in heat exchanger .
