NME media pack
This media pack shows that a majority of readers of
NME are male with an average age of 25 this matches
the audience they targeted so what the magazine
provides must be popular among the target market. It
also shows the majority of its readers come from
middle class families so it is aimed at those with
money.
With 63% of the readers choosing to listen to indie/
guitar band this matches what genre my magazine will
cover and can help me further define what it will look
like and also what questions should be asked in my
interview
The facts show that a majority of the
readers are interested in seeing live
performances. 77% saw at least 1 pop/
rock concert in 2007 meaning the live
music is a very important feature to them
and is likely that the magazine reviews a
number of live performances.
There are also positive statistics on gigs
with the majority enjoying the
atmosphere of gigs showing that the
magazine will have an area devoted to
upcoming concerts and festivals as well
as gigs in local areas. It shows that the
young male audience enjoys going to
live performances to add to the
experience
In can use this to help design my
magazine by mentioning gigs or
concerts in design to help reach my
target audience
The majority of readers of the
magazine have access to the
internet and 67% have bought
something online in the past 12
months. This shows that the
readers most likely spend money
on downloading audience but still
a significant amount may prefer to
buy CDs other downloads.
There is also a radio
network for NME that
lasts 24/7 it has the
target market of 15-24
year similar to audience
I am thinking of
covering. The
availability of a radio
station is a good idea as
it gives those with
interest in the magazine
another way to access
it.

This media pack shows that a majority of readers of NME are male with an average age of 25 this matches the audience they targeted so what the magazine provides must be popular among the target market. It also shows the majority of its readers come from middle class families so it is aimed at those with money. With 63% of the readers choosing to listen to indie/ guitar band this matches what genre my magazine will cover and can help me further define what it will look like and also what questions should be asked in my interview

The facts show that a majority of the readers are interested in seeing live performances. 77% saw at least 1 pop/ rock concert in 2007 meaning the live music is a very important feature to them and is likely that the magazine reviews a number of live performances. There are also positive statistics on gigs with the majority enjoying the atmosphere of gigs showing that the magazine will have an area devoted to upcoming concerts and festivals as well as gigs in local areas. It shows that the young male audience enjoys going to live performances to add to the experience In can use this to help design my magazine by mentioning gigs or concerts in design to help reach my target audience
  • 4. The majority of readers of the magazine have access to the internet and 67% have bought something online in the past 12 months. This shows that the readers most likely spend money on downloading audience but still a significant amount may prefer to buy CDs other downloads.
  • 5. There is also a radio network for NME that lasts 24/7 it has the target market of 15-24 year similar to audience I am thinking of covering. The availability of a radio station is a good idea as it gives those with interest in the magazine another way to access it.
