DEVELOP HEALTH AND SAFETY AND RISK MANAGEMENT POLICIES, PROCEDURES
AND PRACTICES IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE OR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
SETTINGS (M1)
1,1 understand the current legislative frame and organisational health, safety and risk management
policies, procedures and practices that are relevant to health and social care or children and young
peoples setting.
As an organisation that manages health and safety we recognise that the relationship between
controlling risks and general health is at the very centre of the business itself. The starting point for
managing health and safety in the workplace which:

When staff discovered this, they informed senior staff who tried to explain why their actions could not
be allowed to carry on as staff who helps the service user make her bed may sustain an injury. The
family could not see that we have a legal requirement to work within the safety of the health and
safety legislation. I did suggest that we highlight a repair/maintenance job for the bed to be lowered
that is safe to use for both the service user and staff.
Also within the workplace before an activity can be undertaken we are required to complete a risk
assessment and any areas where we need to put safety measures in to limit the potential risks then this
must be done before the activity can take place as well as demonstrating that we need to monitor staff
s working practices and review and update the risk assessment at the appropriate times.
In delivering a registered care service all staff must have mandatory health and safety training before
completing any given task whether this be fire safety, food hygiene, manual handling, infection
control, first aid etc. if staff have not received this training then they cannot complete the task, thus
ensuring that all service user s welfare are giving top priority in line with quality and safety outcomes.
As the acting registered care manager I need to complete regular health and safety

Critique of The Darling
For centuries, women have turned and have entrusted in men for advice to fulfill their lives with
romance. Some women, even though they had difficulty establishing a satisfactory bond with their
spouse, still had a tendency to have a dependency on the male spouse for identity. For a woman to
become a wife was a defining role in women s lives back then, especially within the eastern European
cultures. Sadly, marriage is not always shown to be flowery and romantic as expected. Although
Anton Chekov portrays his protagonist character Olga as kind hearted and attractive and favored, she
often longs for love from the male gender, and serves as the embodiment of female disempowerment.
From Olga s perspective as the story is told, she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At last, when the child comes into her household, Olga finds renewed vigor Sasha. Olga s life once
again takes on meaning, as she absorbs herself with the care of Sasha. Olga s joy is once more
rekindled and she feels delighted to provide for young Sasha as if he were her own son, and joyously
pops a caramel into his hand on each trip to school (116). She empowers him to do his best and obey
all of the teachers as a loving mother and since her character as an ideal of selfless maternal love
which also surfaces. However, Sasha who overwhelmingly feels smothered by her demonstrations of
maternal love feels shamefully bothered by Olenka following him regardless of whether it is for
security reasons or not by spouting You d better go home auntie. I can go the rest of the way alone.
Because Olga is unable to make up her mind on any issue by her own judgments, Olga adopts her
husband s beliefs and thus subordinates her will to the male desire. The only possible way Olenka
gains any iota of happiness is only when she is with her two husbands the theater owner Kukin and the
timber merchant Pustovalov. She receives happiness solely because she tailors her outlook on life to
concur with her own. Her own nickname even epitomizes an ironically pathetic mindset: she is
everyone‘s favorite darling pet, who appears both irksome

Did Benjamin Franklin Discover Electricity
Since electricity is a natural force it didn t have to be invented. It did have to be discovered and
understood. Most people give credit to Benjamin Franklin for discovering electricity from his
experiment when storm clouds transferred to the kite and electricity flowed down the string and gave
him a shock. He s lucky that he didn t get hurt, but he didn t mind the shock since it proved his idea.
But was Benjamin Franklin really the first person to discover electricity? Maybe not! At the turn of the
17th century, English scientist William Gilbert established the science underlying the study of
electricity and magnetism. Inspired by Gilbert s work, another Englishman, Sir Thomas Browne, made
further investigations and wrote books about his

Homer s View Of The Traditional Greek View On Family
Homer has a strong opinion about the traditional Greek view on family and ancestry. Homer expresses
his disdain with the tendency to prioritize one s own glory over their family. Further, he ridicules the
unnecessarily large role that ancestral tradition plays in day to day life. Through the characters view
on family and ancestry Homer reveals the Greek s viewpoint on the afterlife, death, and the immortal
soul. Homer first portrays his view on ancestral tradition through the exchange between Glaukos and
Diomedes. He then makes his argument for family life through the dialogue between Hektor and
Andromache. Homer ties both ideas together with his revelation about belief in the afterlife. Homer
clearly prefers family and love over ancestral tradition and he makes his argument by embedding his
viewpoint within the dialogues.
Homer believes in the importance of family life and love, specifically the bond between living family
members. This is revealed in the exchange between Hektor and his wife Andromache. Hektor, the hero
of Troy, possesses the inhuman strength to turn the tide of the battle and as the Achaians push forward,
the city of Troy needs Hektor s battle skills. However, Hektor s wife, Andromache, begs her husband
not to enter the fray and advises him to draw your people up by the fig tree, there where the city is
openest to attack, and where the wall may be mounted (6.433 434). While Andromache gives Hektor
sound military advice, her real motivation behind

Analysis Of Bonaventure s The Journey Of The Mind
In Bonaventure s The Journey of the Mind to God, chapters 3 4 the author continues with the steps in
the Ascent to God by the consideration of God through his image that is imprinted on our natural
powers and by the consideration of God in his image reformed through the gifts of grace. The third
and fourth steps deal with the image of God in the mind. In the third step the soul is said to be turning
away from consideration of visible things to itself as the image of God. Through memory, intelligence
and the will as the three ways the soul uses to understand the three persons in the one God. In chapter
four, we see the presence of God in each soul. With the help of grace our soul is restored from its
formal form to its supernatural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We retain the past by remembrance, the present by receiving things in itself and the future by foresight
(pg 18). It retains simple things which are the principles of continuous and discrete quantities, such as
a point or unit while also retaining in a permanent way by the principles and axioms of science . Then
the author goes on to discuss the three activities. The first activity is the actual retention of all things
in time such as past, present and future. The second activity is evidently shown that the memory has to
be informed not only from the outside but also from the above. And lastly the third activity is where
see that memory has present in itself a light in which it recalls changeless truths. Through these
activities it is evident that the soul itself is the image of God. Next the author talks about the intellect
and how it understands things by definition. A definition is usually given in broad terms and it must be
defined by others until we the people arrive at the highest and most general . Secondly, the intellect
according to the author is truly able to comprehend the meaning of propositions when it knows with
certainty that they are true. And finally, our intellect only then is able to grasp the meaning of an
inference when it sees that the conclusion follows necessarily from the premises and when it sees it in
contingent matters. The activity of the elective family is found through counsel, judgment and desire.

Business Line Model Of Nordstrom
Strength The diverse business line model that Nordstrom applies gives them a competitive edge over
their competitors. Unlike many of their competitors, Nordstrom operates in several retail categories
such as: clothing, furniture, bedding, footwear, beauty products, jewelry, house wear and cafes
(Nordstrom Inc, n.d). Operating in multi retail categories gives consumers an incentive to shop at their
shop, over the competitors because the consumer can satisfy all their specific needs and wants in one
store instead of having to visit several. The divergent product line also broadens Nordstrom s target
market by offering different products that attract new market segments and reach the different
demographic and purchasing needs of each consumer. Nordstrom s wide product range helped them to
increase their Total Revenue in the 3 quarter 2014 by 8.88 % year on year, while most of its

Analysis Of Christ Healing At The Pool Of Bethesda
Visual Analysis: Christ Healing at the Pool of Bethesda by Carl Bloch
The influence of Art is evident through many different contemporary means that alludes to any one
time period or era. The relevancy of such a depiction is represented through the aspect or topic of
religion. In the Christian religion, whether directly or indirectly many Christian artist have spread faith
over generations, drawing inspirations of the faith and incorporating them into their pieces. Carl Bloch
a Danish painter illustrates the Christ s life through paintings, as his work was displayed Frederiksberg
Castle Church in current day Denmark. The paintings showed how Christ taught and healed many
people. Some of his paintings are alter pieces for the church. The ... Show more content on

This reflects their intentions of following Christ. They are not following to help him, but find fault
with him. Many of the people at the pool of Bethesda are waiting for the disturbance of the water so
that they may be healed of their illnesses by it miraculous powers. In the painting, Bloch s use of color
depicts the water as dirty implying that it may not have miraculous powers that the people believe it
does. The elderly man had not been able to bathe in these waters and be healed from his disease for
thirty eight years. When Christ heals this man, he does not help him to the water; he tells him to rise
and walk and he is healed. Christ is the one that the people should believe in to be healed. This shows
that Christ being a perfect being wants to help those in need and he is the one that has the power to
perform miracles. Bloch effectively uses body position in the painting Christ Healing at the Pool of
Bethesda to add to the theme of Christ being there to help people.
In the painting Christ s position shows his willingness and ability to heal the elderly man. His left
hand is lifted the shelter of cloth the man is under, literally shows that Christ can lift the sick and heal
them or can lift the burdens which befall them. Christ s right hand gesture is inviting and shows his
love and willingness to help toward the elderly man. The elderly man s hands are starting to reach up
towards Christ, trusting and accepting his help.

Gertrude Stein s A Rose
A rose is a rose is a rose Gertrude Stein. Gertrude Stein who many consider her a major author, the
founder of a new literary style, the great apologist for Modernism, and the discoverer and promoter of
the French school of contemporary painting. She was the beginning of a new era, some looked up to
her while others thought she was an insignificant person (but how wrong they were). Gertrude Stein
influenced a new generation in the arts. She helped encourage new and old authors and painters.
Gertrude Stein enjoyed writing simple phrases that can be interpreted into masterpieces. She was an
activist, out of the box thinker and internationally known during the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Gertrude Stein was born on February 3, 1874 in Allegheny, Pennsylvania to Daniel and Amelia Stein.
Both parents were from the German Jewish descent. Gertrude Stein is one of five three boys and two
girls. From 1875 until 1878 her family moved and lived in Austria and France. But in 1880, her family
moved back to the United States and settled in Oakland, California. Daniel Stein was a wealthy
businessman and only expected the best for his family. Her parents were a part of a synagogue, and
she went to Sabbath day school, but was not a religious Jew. Nevertheless, Stein grew up believing
strongly that Jews shared certain personal traits, such as superior intelligence, financial acumen, and
loyalty to one another, she respected and understood her background and roots. After her mother and
father passed away, Stein s oldest brother took over as head of family and moved to San Francisco.
But then in 1892, Gertrude Stein moved to Baltimore with her siblings to live with an aunt. The
following year she entered Harvard Annex and later worked under Hugo Munsterberg, in the Harvard
Psychological Laboratory. She studied there for four years and graduated with a degree. However, in
1897 she entered Johns Hopkins Medical School only to flunk four courses and not receive a degree.
It may seem that this experience was her all time low. In 1903, Gertrude Stein decided to move to
Paris with her brother. There they began their start in the arts;

Case Study Nicole Brown Simpson
Introduction: The Scenario On June 13, 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were
found dead outside of Nicole Brown Simpson s condo in Brentwood, California at approximately
midnight (Case). A few days later on June 17, 1994, as police go to arrest OJ Simpson as a suspect in
the murders, Simpson and a friend attempted to flee in Simpson s white Bronco but Simpson was
eventually apprehended at his house after the chase concluded (Linder). On July 22, 1994, Simpson
pleaded not guilty to charges of two counts of first degree murder (Linder). The trial lasted from
January 29th, 1995 to October 3rd, 1995 when Simpson was ultimately found not guilty for the
murders because there was not sufficient enough evidence to convict Simpson ... Show more content

Blood found on the socks contained genetic markers associated with both OJ Simpson and Nicole
Brown Simpson (List). As we learned in class the blood evidence was very important because of its
role as a body fluid containing DNA. This evidence should have been critical in linking OJ Simpson
to the crime scene and with Nicole Brown Simpson. According to the defense Nicole Brown Simpson
s blood was planted on Simpson s socks to implicate him. One of the defense s claims was that from
the blood samples collected on the sock there was EDTA present (Matheson). In class we learned that
EDTA is used in the purple topped vacutainer vials that are used to collect blood. The EDTA helps to
stop the blood from coagulating and instead keeping it a liquid form. According to the FBI analysis
the levels of EDTA found were only 1/1000 that of what would be in a vacutainer vial (Matheson).
Given this information I would reasonably conclude that this is probably not blood from a vacutainer
vial and that the evidence was not likely planted by someone. Another claim that the defense had was
that the blood had soaked all the way through the socks which would not have been possible if OJ
Simpson would have been wearing the socks (List). One of the things we studied in class was blood
stain patterns. In particular one of the patterns was a wipe. If OJ Simpson had taken the socks off and
left them on the floor it would make sense that if the volume of blood on the socks was substantial,
like the amount of blood at the scene, that the blood could still be wet enough to wipe blood from the
front of the socks to the back of the socks and soak through. A lot of this would depend on how much
time it took between the murders and OJ Simpson removing his socks, because if the blood had
already started to dry before he took them off the blood likely wouldn t

Jean Honoré Fragonard s The Stolen Kiss
Jean Honoré Fragonard (1732 1806), was one of the most creative artists of his time, producing more
than 550 works during his life. Fragonard was a product of the later stages of the Rococo era, a time
characterized by hedonistic freedom and a pursuit of all things aesthetically pleasing. The Rococo era
originated from the French decorative style Racaille meaning decorative shell and rock work (Artble).
Frivolous, colorful and gay, the works of Jean Honoré Fragonard float into a spectator s sensory
consciousness like pastel confections straight from a Parisian bakery on a spring day (Artble). Having
taken on the role of one of the highest ranking leaders of the Rococo movement, Fragonard s style of
painting demonstrates all that was exalted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ethical And Ethical Aspects Of Social Ethics
What is the meaning of social ethics? The most common way of defining social ethics is a system of
principles that distinguish between right and wrong. From a young age humans are taught ethical
norms from family, religion, friends and the legal, political and social culture. Ethical norms are so
ubiquitous that one might be tempted to regard them as simple commonsense. On the other hand, if
morality were nothing more than commonsense, then why are there so many ethical disputes and
issues in our society? (Resnik, 2011). Ethical disputes emerge from value conflicts because people
interpret and apply ethical norms in different ways due to their own beliefs and life experiences. In
research, these conflicts are expressed in various ways: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is therefore important for researchers to learn how to interpret, assess, and apply research rules and
how to make decisions and act in diverse situations. Most cultures have legal rules that govern
behavior, but ethical norms have a tendency to be more informal than laws. Although most societies
use laws to enforce widely accepted moral standards and ethical and legal rules use similar concepts, it
is important to remember that ethics and law are not the same. An action may be legal but unethical or
illegal but ethical (Resnik, 2011). This is one reason why social scientist researchers have begun to
address the particular ethical issues that arise in their work. By examining two highly debated case
studies it will be clear to see why ethics in research is so important. Both The Bell Curve written by
Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray and Pygmalion in the Classroom by Robert Rosenthal and
Lenore Jacobson identify education as being one of the main avenues of social mobility. Within our
educational institutions today, supremacism remains a function of how schools enforce discipline, use
standardized tests, select curriculum and texts, and teacher attitudes. On the other hand, the most
notable difference between the cases is the significant discrepancies in intelligence between racial and
ethnic groups. The authors of The Bell Curve argue that no amount of

The Phoenix Aurora In the middle of a September night in 2015, Iceland s dancing skies put on a
spectacular show. At around 3:30 am, the flash of a massive phoenix made an appearance and was
gone just as fast. This astronomical phenomenon is called an aurora. The vibrant lights that move
across the dark skies attract the attention of many stargazers, tourists, and astronomers. As a result of
the large attraction, astronomers have studied the interaction between the earth s atmosphere, magnetic
field, and the suns energy. The sun is a vital piece to our planet it provides us with energy, warmth,
food and auroras! The sun is an average star in size and is currently in the main sequence stage of its
life. There are many parts to our sun, which begins at the core. The core is where the sun s energy
derives from, fusing hydrogen to helium. The outer regions of the core is where the energy travels
outward through radiation, then convection, and finally out through the solar atmosphere. The solar
atmosphere consists of three classified parts, a photosphere, chromosphere, and corona. The drama
that unfolds on the chromosphere and corona play a major role in auroras. Particularly, a massive solar
flare classified as a coronal mass ejection. A coronal mass ejection is a type of solar flare that occur
when magnetic fields pointing in opposite directions release energy by interacting with and destroying

reveals his commandments, and what could be one s punishment for committing sin. On the other
hand, God tells His children how he will bless them, and their families, if they obey God s
commandments and live accordingly to His laws. In a sense, God tells His children how wonderful
their lives can be if they praise Him, and do the things they need to do to strengthen their relationship
with Him. Also, God explains how individuals can repent for their sins, by being sincere in their heart
when praying for forgiveness. He also states that when

Restorative Justice Pros And Cons
With the rise of Civil Rights Movement in western countries, the circumstances of the criminal
victims are getting more attention gradually. Due to this emphasis, it directly led to a first revolution in
the criminal justice, the revival Restorative justice. For a criminal justice system, victim support and
healing is a priority which might seem an obvious aim. Restorative Justice was first introduced by an
American professor, Randy Barnett in 1977. Nowadays, restorative justice systems have been applied
to criminal justice system in many countries (Tai Wan, Australia, the US and the UK etc). In spite of
many researches of restorative justice composed by western scholars, however it has not yet been

1775) The Declaration main complete however was not against George III, it lay instead in the first
lines of its second paragraph, ringing statements of principle that have served ever since as the ideal to
which Americans aspire. We hold these truths to be self evident; That all men are created equal; that
they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and
the pursuit of happiness; that, to secure these rights governments are instituted among men, deriving
their just powers from the consent of the governed; that whenever any form of government becomes

congress men who voted for the Declaration of Indolence did not know their ramification of their act.
They committed a crime, which was a capital offense. Congress had no clue had long it would take to
make America its own colony. They began to devise a plan that would allow them to take over by
getting new people into office and not be run by the same government that had controlled them since
1774. Political leaders did not think that it would be best if legislative did not write the laws that

The Texas Rangers By Stephen F. Austin
In the early 1800s volunteers provided security services. They were mainly enrolled to watch over
large factories and other buildings. They also want to watch over local shops. They would alarm
people of fires and the occasional burglary. Around 1823, Stephen F. Austin created the Texas
Rangers. They say this was not the official beginning of the Rangers, because some people questioned
as to whether they were actually employed as Rangers. Originally they only had around ten men to
protect close to one thousand people. Instead, after the Mexican Revolution in 1835 is when they were
officially recognized them as an institution. They were an example of the security that the government
would provide to the new settlers.
In 1850 a Chicago Businessman named Allen Pinkerton created a private guard service. He was
originally contracted to protect available property, and ended up exposing the activities have a band of
counterfeiters. In 1861, he actually received national recognition when he was able to successfully
uncover a plot to assassinate Abraham Lincoln. During the Civil War, He helped organize the federal
Secret Service that helped the union. Pinkerton security is still around today, and is a leading provider
of risk management services for organizations around the world. With the formation of this agency,
other agencies were also formed and these included Wells Fargo Company, Brinks, Burns, and others.
These agencies were often employed to track down wanted persons.

Masculinity In The Blind Side
The movie that I chose to write about is the 2009 movie, The Blind Side. It is a film about a young
African American male, nicknamed Big Mike who is basically homeless and struggles in school.
Michael grew up in a very bad neighborhood and was taken away from his mother at the age of 7, who
is a crackhead and is described as promiscuous with lots of kids. We see the character depiction
difference in the very scene when Leigh Anne goes to visit Michael s mother, Denise. She is dark
skinned, disheveled and her apartment or housed is a complete mess. This is the total opposite of what
Leigh Anne is, which is organized, neat and clean, well dressed and who s house is big, beautiful and
clean. We then learn that Denise doesn t even remember who his father is. Michael is in and out of

We see Leigh Anne as an assertive, dominant white female over her husband and the high school

exchanges words with one of the men there as she mentions that she always packs heat. Deviant black
masculinity that might appear threatening to the white community is then confined to real and
imaginary ghettos. (Montes de Oca pg136) At one point when a woman who investigates with the
NCAA even questions the absurd situation and although she doesn t say it, she s probably seeing it as
being saved by a white savior as well, except that her reasons are all wrong. This film reminded me a
little bit of Precious because of the poor academic skills and the feeling of being out of place socially.

These infections are some of the most common illnesses worldwide affecting the health and wellbeing
of people infected, particularily women in regards to their fertility (Gerbase, Rowley, heymann et, al

sexually transmissible infections during 2010 were Chlamydia and syphilis. It has been established

Undiagnosed and untreated sexually transmissible infections (STIs) have negative health outcomes for

Politics Of Bad Ideas Analysis
In the The Politics of Bad Ideas, Bryan Jones and Walter Williams examine the United States
economic policies of the past quarter century and explore the policy practices of the nation, while
stressing the importance of evidence based policy. Jones, a political scientist, and Williams, an
economist, argue that the persistence of bad ideas in shaping American policy continues to exist,
despite evidence that certain policies do not work. The Politics of Bad Ideas examines why bad
economic ideas, such as cutting taxes without cutting spending, have become so influential in shaping
fiscal policies. Using in depth scholarly research and economic analysis, Jones and Williams explore
why these bad ideas continue to thrive, despite overwhelming evidence that they in fact cause damage
to the federal government s economy in the long run. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whereas Democrats funded their programs from taxes, the role of the government massively increased
during the George W. Bush administration as a result of borrowing as a means of funding programs.
The consequence of the Bush administration is a massive increase in the budget deficit and national

rhetoric from Republicans and conservatives who say they do. According to the data the authors
present, the greater the Republican control of Congress the higher the growth of spending. Thus, the
fiscal conservatives who are proponents of small government are following through with fiscal
policies that are the opposite of their ideology. In fact, George W. Bush is the second biggest spending

Although supporters of the bike sharing program are hopeful Citi Bike will reduce congestion and

Key Trends Of Av Technology For Schools
3 Key Trends in AV Technology For Schools is an article written by Dennis Pierce. The article was
published in June of 2015, and was published in the T H E journal. The T H E stands for
Technological Horizons in Education. In 3 Key Trends in AV Technology for Schools, Mr. Pierce
discusses multiple ways in which technology has evolved, and how it is benefiting the classroom. He
also discusses in great detail the multitude of devices, and how they are being put to use to increase
and improve the learning environment. Because active learning environments are on the rise, more
and more teachers are looking for new and exciting ways to teach their students. Students are
contributing more to discussions and presentations, and the old ways of just having a teacher stand in
the front of the class and lecture are waning.(p.23) In the next few paragraphs I will discuss the three
key trends that have been moving the ever evolving world of technology in the classroom forward in
leaps and bounds. The first key trend that Mr. Pierce talks about in the article are interactive displays
and projectors. Interactive projectors and displays hit the market in 2009, and they have rapidly
become prevelant in classrooms across the country. Between 2013 and 2014 almost 86 thousand
interactive projectors and displays were sold. Linda Norton of PMA Research firm explains that most
of these were sold to schools with grades K 12, and she also believes that the amount of these

How Did Gender Ideology Affect The Atlantic Slave Trade
The Atlantic slave trade changed gender ideology, altered the relationships between men and women,
and also gave rise to racism in the Americas. Throughout the New World, gender ideology was deeply
shaped by developing racist assumptions. (101) Each region we read about was affected by infestation
of Europeans in many ways, most beginning with economic shifts. When the Spanish began settling in
the Americas, they brought with them a myriad of problems for the Native people. They brought
diseases completely unheard of to the Natives, they brought plants that eventually overran the native
plants, they brought animals that killed off native species, they brought new, unwelcome religion and
government. All of luggage brought across the Atlantic had devastating results on both the Native
Americans and the land. This, however, is only the beginning of the devastation that comes to many
peoples over the course of the Atlantic slave trade. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Four Planets Of Jupiter
The four planets that are furthest from our sun are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. They are
called the outer planets. They are separated from the four inner planets by something referred to as the
asteroid belt, which is filled with big chunks of rock that are called asteroids. The asteroid belt lies
between Mars and Jupiter. All the outer planets are gas giants. They also take longer to orbit the sun
than the four inner planets, because they are much further away from the sun. Let s explore each of the
four outer planets.
The four outer planets are much larger than the inner planets, and their surfaces are mostly made of
gases, such as hydrogen. Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun, or the first outer planet. It s also the
largest planet in the entire solar system. It s 300 times larger than Earth! It takes 12 Earth years for
Jupiter to completely orbit the sun one time. A very thick layer of hydrogen clouds covers the surface
of Jupiter. The mass of Jupiter is more than all the masses of the other planets combined, which means
that it has a lot more gravity than the other planets, and even more than the sun.
There is an area on Jupiter called the Great Red Spot, and it s where lots of violent storms occur. Just
this one area of storms is three times larger than Earth! Jupiter has at least 63 moons, and new ones are
still being discovered. Each moon is unique. Ganymede is the largest moon in our solar system, and it
s even bigger than Mercury. Europa is

Analysis Of Sonnets By John Keats
The topic I am choosing for the project is sonnets, with a focus on John Keats. I think that sonnets fit
into the focus of this seminar because they are a form of a lyric. Like we learned in Jackson s Lyric
article, the early modern sonnet becomes the semi official vehicle of contemporaneous lyric, and both
theory and commentary respond to it as a given. It also talks about the Romantic period was when the
lyric became a transcendent genre by remaining an idea that could blur the differences among specific
verse genres that were actually very much in use in the same period. (7) A lyric is usually defined as a
short poem that is addressed to someone and has personal meaning. (Jackson, 1) My topic fits into this
seminar because a sonnet is a fourteen lined poem that can address someone and/or has personal
meaning and emotion. The questions I want to pursue for my project is to go more in depth with the
form of the sonnet. I know there is the Petrarchan/Italian and Shakespearean/English forms, but I want
to learn further what sets the two apart, how they re the same, and how Keats sonnets fit into it. How
does the sonnet fit into being lyric poetry? I want to focus a lot on that. How did the sonnet transform
itself during Keats time and how was he a help to that? How have sonnets changed before
Romanticism as a lyric? Since Keats comes from the Romantic period, I want to see how
Romanticism influenced lyrics and sonnets as well. How does emotion play into being a sonnet

was the so called May 1940 War Cabinet Crisis . After the long conversation, they took a decision to
appoint the next Prime Minister in the person of Churchill. He was the best choice to lead the war and
Britain s battle against Nazi Germany. He was a talented orator and with his speeches he tried to boost
up the morale of the British nation. He was a close friend of Roosevelt and this friendship started after

by the Social party who disbanded the national government to give a chance for the election. The main
reason was that the British people wanted full employment and proper welfare state. During the
speech in the radio, Churchill tried to prove the socialists were not allowing the free speech, but on the
other side they would like to fall back on some form of Gestapo . This statement caused his failure of

There should, therefore, be a way of letting specific responders to be aware of the train schedules and
routes. There is also a mobile app called Ask Rail, which is developed for the emergence of
responders providing access to data relating to the train with the incidents (Molinski, 2015). This gives
the responders a chance to know about the train which has had an incident and rush to rescue any
victim of the incident. This increases the safety of the railroad. Since there are no such measures that
have been put across in the tanker truck, the railroad is a better method of oil transportation. New rules
should be introduced for the use of trains in oil transportation. There has been debate over new rules
of transporting oil via the railroad. These rules require that trains be installed with new brakes that will
stop hazardous materials that are flammable (Stevens, 2015). There have been appeals to challenge the
new rules. However, the safety administration denies these calls since their aim is to reduce incidents
in the railroad during transportation of oil. This has increased concern about the transportation of oil
over the railroad (Stevens, 2015). Once the railroad has been implemented in this company, new rules
that are strict have to be set before the trains are used. Appendix

Halloween vs. Christmas
Holidays in the United States differ from others around the world. Two unique holidays celebrated in
the states are Halloween and Christmas. The two holidays differ in tradition and decoration, but occur
roughly during the same time of year.
Halloween originated from a festival of the northern European culture. This holiday and the ideas that
tie along with the concept of Halloween were brought to the United States from the Celts. The Celts
believed that on October 31 ghosts would return from the dead and back to earth. In the European
culture Halloween is a time where spirits care able to come into contact with the real world. This day
was called Samhian. Traditions such as costumes and trick or treating. The idea of costumes dated

Literary Analysis Of Maya Deren s Meshes Of The Afternoon
Maya Deren s Meshes of the Afternoon, (1943) is a 14 minute black and white 16mm film that
captures simple realities like walking around one s house, cutting bread, etc, and turning that narrative
into a warped and surrealistic reality that is eerie and chilling, but ultimately there is still familiarity in
it s truth and sensibility. In addition to it being cinematically masterful, Deren s approach in the
choices she made were remarkable and iconic in terms of editing because of the time period s limited

them because I find knives to be aesthetically lovely on behalf of their elegance in how they shine, but
there is also the inherent phallicism and violence that is attached to it s image as well. Through this
symbol, Deren expresses the frustration she faces with herself and identity, in that she isn t being seen,

each subtle change different from the last, Deren triggers memory and familiarity and in her repeating

When staff discovered this, they informed senior staff who tried to explain why their actions could not be allowed to carry on as staff who helps the service user make her bed may sustain an injury. The family could not see that we have a legal requirement to work within the safety of the health and safety legislation. I did suggest that we highlight a repair/maintenance job for the bed to be lowered that is safe to use for both the service user and staff. Also within the workplace before an activity can be undertaken we are required to complete a risk assessment and any areas where we need to put safety measures in to limit the potential risks then this must be done before the activity can take place as well as demonstrating that we need to monitor staff s working practices and review and update the risk assessment at the appropriate times. In delivering a registered care service all staff must have mandatory health and safety training before completing any given task whether this be fire safety, food hygiene, manual handling, infection control, first aid etc. if staff have not received this training then they cannot complete the task, thus ensuring that all service user s welfare are giving top priority in line with quality and safety outcomes. • 3. Critique of The Darling For centuries, women have turned and have entrusted in men for advice to fulfill their lives with romance. Some women, even though they had difficulty establishing a satisfactory bond with their spouse, still had a tendency to have a dependency on the male spouse for identity. For a woman to become a wife was a defining role in women s lives back then, especially within the eastern European cultures. Sadly, marriage is not always shown to be flowery and romantic as expected. Although Anton Chekov portrays his protagonist character Olga as kind hearted and attractive and favored, she often longs for love from the male gender, and serves as the embodiment of female disempowerment. From Olga s perspective as the story is told, she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At last, when the child comes into her household, Olga finds renewed vigor Sasha. Olga s life once again takes on meaning, as she absorbs herself with the care of Sasha. Olga s joy is once more rekindled and she feels delighted to provide for young Sasha as if he were her own son, and joyously pops a caramel into his hand on each trip to school (116). She empowers him to do his best and obey all of the teachers as a loving mother and since her character as an ideal of selfless maternal love which also surfaces. However, Sasha who overwhelmingly feels smothered by her demonstrations of maternal love feels shamefully bothered by Olenka following him regardless of whether it is for security reasons or not by spouting You d better go home auntie. I can go the rest of the way alone. Because Olga is unable to make up her mind on any issue by her own judgments, Olga adopts her husband s beliefs and thus subordinates her will to the male desire. The only possible way Olenka gains any iota of happiness is only when she is with her two husbands the theater owner Kukin and the timber merchant Pustovalov. She receives happiness solely because she tailors her outlook on life to concur with her own. Her own nickname even epitomizes an ironically pathetic mindset: she is everyone‘s favorite darling pet, who appears both irksome ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most people give credit to Benjamin Franklin for discovering electricity from his experiment when storm clouds transferred to the kite and electricity flowed down the string and gave him a shock. He s lucky that he didn t get hurt, but he didn t mind the shock since it proved his idea. But was Benjamin Franklin really the first person to discover electricity? Maybe not! At the turn of the 17th century, English scientist William Gilbert established the science underlying the study of electricity and magnetism. • 5. Homer s View Of The Traditional Greek View On Family Homer has a strong opinion about the traditional Greek view on family and ancestry. Homer expresses his disdain with the tendency to prioritize one s own glory over their family. Further, he ridicules the unnecessarily large role that ancestral tradition plays in day to day life. Through the characters view on family and ancestry Homer reveals the Greek s viewpoint on the afterlife, death, and the immortal soul. Homer first portrays his view on ancestral tradition through the exchange between Glaukos and Diomedes. He then makes his argument for family life through the dialogue between Hektor and Andromache. Homer ties both ideas together with his revelation about belief in the afterlife. Homer clearly prefers family and love over ancestral tradition and he makes his argument by embedding his viewpoint within the dialogues. Homer believes in the importance of family life and love, specifically the bond between living family members. This is revealed in the exchange between Hektor and his wife Andromache. Hektor, the hero of Troy, possesses the inhuman strength to turn the tide of the battle and as the Achaians push forward, the city of Troy needs Hektor s battle skills. However, Hektor s wife, Andromache, begs her husband not to enter the fray and advises him to draw your people up by the fig tree, there where the city is openest to attack, and where the wall may be mounted (6.433 434). In the Christian religion, whether directly or indirectly many Christian artist have spread faith over generations, drawing inspirations of the faith and incorporating them into their pieces. This reflects their intentions of following Christ. They are not following to help him, but find fault with him. Many of the people at the pool of Bethesda are waiting for the disturbance of the water so that they may be healed of their illnesses by it miraculous powers. In the painting, Bloch s use of color depicts the water as dirty implying that it may not have miraculous powers that the people believe it does. The elderly man had not been able to bathe in these waters and be healed from his disease for thirty eight years. When Christ heals this man, he does not help him to the water; he tells him to rise and walk and he is healed. Christ is the one that the people should believe in to be healed. This shows that Christ being a perfect being wants to help those in need and he is the one that has the power to perform miracles. Bloch effectively uses body position in the painting Christ Healing at the Pool of Bethesda to add to the theme of Christ being there to help people. In the painting Christ s position shows his willingness and ability to heal the elderly man. His left hand is lifted the shelter of cloth the man is under, literally shows that Christ can lift the sick and heal them or can lift the burdens which befall them. Christ s right hand gesture is inviting and shows his love and willingness to help toward the elderly man. The elderly man s hands are starting to reach up towards Christ, trusting and accepting his help. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But in 1880, her family moved back to the United States and settled in Oakland, California. Daniel Stein was a wealthy businessman and only expected the best for his family. Her parents were a part of a synagogue, and she went to Sabbath day school, but was not a religious Jew. Nevertheless, Stein grew up believing strongly that Jews shared certain personal traits, such as superior intelligence, financial acumen, and loyalty to one another, she respected and understood her background and roots. After her mother and father passed away, Stein s oldest brother took over as head of family and moved to San Francisco. But then in 1892, Gertrude Stein moved to Baltimore with her siblings to live with an aunt. Case Study Nicole Brown Simpson Introduction: The Scenario On June 13, 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were found dead outside of Nicole Brown Simpson s condo in Brentwood, California at approximately midnight (Case). A few days later on June 17, 1994, as police go to arrest OJ Simpson as a suspect in the murders, Simpson and a friend attempted to flee in Simpson s white Bronco but Simpson was eventually apprehended at his house after the chase concluded (Linder). On July 22, 1994, Simpson pleaded not guilty to charges of two counts of first degree murder (Linder). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Blood found on the socks contained genetic markers associated with both OJ Simpson and Nicole Brown Simpson (List). As we learned in class the blood evidence was very important because of its role as a body fluid containing DNA. This evidence should have been critical in linking OJ Simpson to the crime scene and with Nicole Brown Simpson. According to the defense Nicole Brown Simpson s blood was planted on Simpson s socks to implicate him. One of the defense s claims was that from the blood samples collected on the sock there was EDTA present (Matheson). In class we learned that EDTA is used in the purple topped vacutainer vials that are used to collect blood. The EDTA helps to stop the blood from coagulating and instead keeping it a liquid form. According to the FBI analysis the levels of EDTA found were only 1/1000 that of what would be in a vacutainer vial (Matheson). Given this information I would reasonably conclude that this is probably not blood from a vacutainer vial and that the evidence was not likely planted by someone. Another claim that the defense had was that the blood had soaked all the way through the socks which would not have been possible if OJ Simpson would have been wearing the socks (List). One of the things we studied in class was blood stain patterns. In particular one of the patterns was a wipe. If OJ Simpson had taken the socks off and left them on the floor it would make sense that if the volume of blood on the socks was substantial, like the amount of blood at the scene, that the blood could still be wet enough to wipe blood from the front of the socks to the back of the socks and soak through. A lot of this would depend on how much time it took between the murders and OJ Simpson removing his socks, because if the blood had already started to dry before he took them off the blood likely wouldn t ... • 13. Ethical And Ethical Aspects Of Social Ethics What is the meaning of social ethics? The most common way of defining social ethics is a system of principles that distinguish between right and wrong. From a young age humans are taught ethical norms from family, religion, friends and the legal, political and social culture. Ethical norms are so ubiquitous that one might be tempted to regard them as simple commonsense. On the other hand, if morality were nothing more than commonsense, then why are there so many ethical disputes and issues in our society? (Resnik, 2011). Ethical disputes emerge from value conflicts because people interpret and apply ethical norms in different ways due to their own beliefs and life experiences. In research, these conflicts are expressed in various ways: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is therefore important for researchers to learn how to interpret, assess, and apply research rules and how to make decisions and act in diverse situations. Most cultures have legal rules that govern behavior, but ethical norms have a tendency to be more informal than laws. Although most societies use laws to enforce widely accepted moral standards and ethical and legal rules use similar concepts, it is important to remember that ethics and law are not the same. An action may be legal but unethical or illegal but ethical (Resnik, 2011). This is one reason why social scientist researchers have begun to address the particular ethical issues that arise in their work. By examining two highly debated case studies it will be clear to see why ethics in research is so important. Both The Bell Curve written by Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray and Pygmalion in the Classroom by Robert Rosenthal and Lenore Jacobson identify education as being one of the main avenues of social mobility. Within our educational institutions today, supremacism remains a function of how schools enforce discipline, use standardized tests, select curriculum and texts, and teacher attitudes. Rolling in the Street Rolling in the Street In May 2013, Major Bloomberg launched a new bicycle program to have an additional mode of transportation for the citizens and visitors of New York City. The Department of Transportation chose to have a Public Private Partnership with Alta Bicycle Share over a fully public operated system in order to have an effective and faster delivery of the project. In addition, Citibank paid $41 million and Master Card $6 million to be the title sponsors for the bike share program. Although supporters of the bike sharing program are hopeful Citi Bike will reduce congestion and boost public health by active transportation, in a big city like New York, only a selected part of the population will be enjoying the benefits. This paper aims at addressing how public private partnerships effectively increase the level of production and efficiency, but negatively affect other important sectors of the economy. Presently, the key stakeholders are the government, the suppliers of the bikes, the employees, the costumers and the community. Each of these groups contributes in some way and has their own opinions, views and suggestions for the project. These stakeholders are crucial for Citi Bike and therefore their interests must be recognized in order to facilitate the development of the project. • 30. Key Trends Of Av Technology For Schools 3 Key Trends in AV Technology For Schools is an article written by Dennis Pierce. The article was published in June of 2015, and was published in the T H E journal. The T H E stands for Technological Horizons in Education. In 3 Key Trends in AV Technology for Schools, Mr. Pierce discusses multiple ways in which technology has evolved, and how it is benefiting the classroom. He also discusses in great detail the multitude of devices, and how they are being put to use to increase and improve the learning environment. Because active learning environments are on the rise, more and more teachers are looking for new and exciting ways to teach their students. Students are contributing more to discussions and presentations, and the old ways of just having a teacher stand in the front of the class and lecture are waning.(p.23) In the next few paragraphs I will discuss the three key trends that have been moving the ever evolving world of technology in the classroom forward in leaps and bounds. The first key trend that Mr. Pierce talks about in the article are interactive displays and projectors. Interactive projectors and displays hit the market in 2009, and they have rapidly become prevelant in classrooms across the country. Between 2013 and 2014 almost 86 thousand interactive projectors and displays were sold. Linda Norton of PMA Research firm explains that most of these were sold to schools with grades K 12, and she also believes that the amount of these projectors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Did Gender Ideology Affect The Atlantic Slave Trade The Atlantic slave trade changed gender ideology, altered the relationships between men and women, and also gave rise to racism in the Americas. Throughout the New World, gender ideology was deeply shaped by developing racist assumptions. (101) Each region we read about was affected by infestation of Europeans in many ways, most beginning with economic shifts. When the Spanish began settling in the Americas, they brought with them a myriad of problems for the Native people. They brought diseases completely unheard of to the Natives, they brought plants that eventually overran the native plants, they brought animals that killed off native species, they brought new, unwelcome religion and government. All of luggage brought across the Atlantic had devastating results on both the Native Americans and the land. This, however, is only the beginning of the devastation that comes to many peoples over the course of the Atlantic slave trade. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 32. The Four Planets Of Jupiter The four planets that are furthest from our sun are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. They are called the outer planets. They are separated from the four inner planets by something referred to as the asteroid belt, which is filled with big chunks of rock that are called asteroids. The asteroid belt lies between Mars and Jupiter. All the outer planets are gas giants. They also take longer to orbit the sun than the four inner planets, because they are much further away from the sun. Let s explore each of the four outer planets. The four outer planets are much larger than the inner planets, and their surfaces are mostly made of gases, such as hydrogen. Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun, or the first outer planet. It s also the largest planet in the entire solar system. It s 300 times larger than Earth! It takes 12 Earth years for Jupiter to completely orbit the sun one time. A very thick layer of hydrogen clouds covers the surface of Jupiter. The mass of Jupiter is more than all the masses of the other planets combined, which means that it has a lot more gravity than the other planets, and even more than the sun. There is an area on Jupiter called the Great Red Spot, and it s where lots of violent storms occur. Just this one area of storms is three times larger than Earth! Jupiter has at least 63 moons, and new ones are still being discovered. Each moon is unique. Ganymede is the largest moon in our solar system, and it s even bigger than Mercury. Europa is ... • 33. Analysis Of Sonnets By John Keats The topic I am choosing for the project is sonnets, with a focus on John Keats. I think that sonnets fit into the focus of this seminar because they are a form of a lyric. Like we learned in Jackson s Lyric article, the early modern sonnet becomes the semi official vehicle of contemporaneous lyric, and both theory and commentary respond to it as a given. It also talks about the Romantic period was when the lyric became a transcendent genre by remaining an idea that could blur the differences among specific verse genres that were actually very much in use in the same period. (7) A lyric is usually defined as a short poem that is addressed to someone and has personal meaning. (Jackson, 1) My topic fits into this seminar because a sonnet is a fourteen lined poem that can address someone and/or has personal meaning and emotion. The questions I want to pursue for my project is to go more in depth with the form of the sonnet. I know there is the Petrarchan/Italian and Shakespearean/English forms, but I want to learn further what sets the two apart, how they re the same, and how Keats sonnets fit into it. How does the sonnet fit into being lyric poetry? I want to focus a lot on that. How did the sonnet transform itself during Keats time and how was he a help to that? How have sonnets changed before Romanticism as a lyric? Since Keats comes from the Romantic period, I want to see how Romanticism influenced lyrics and sonnets as well. How does emotion play into being a sonnet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Churchill s reception as a victorious war leader was mixed. The King of UK, George IV fully supported him as a leader. On the other hand, he was ignored by the Social party who disbanded the national government to give a chance for the election. The main reason was that the British people wanted full employment and proper welfare state. During the speech in the radio, Churchill tried to prove the socialists were not allowing the free speech, but on the other side they would like to fall back on some form of Gestapo . This statement caused his failure of the July 1945 election. In conclusion, definitely I think he was the best war leader of all times. However, the above challenges can be addressed in the following ways: Pipelines used in the transportation of crude oil should be correctly placed (Iron Mountain, 2016). There should, therefore, be a way of letting specific responders to be aware of the train schedules and routes. There is also a mobile app called Ask Rail, which is developed for the emergence of responders providing access to data relating to the train with the incidents (Molinski, 2015). This gives the responders a chance to know about the train which has had an incident and rush to rescue any victim of the incident. This increases the safety of the railroad. Since there are no such measures that have been put across in the tanker truck, the railroad is a better method of oil transportation. New rules should be introduced for the use of trains in oil transportation. There has been debate over new rules of transporting oil via the railroad. These rules require that trains be installed with new brakes that will stop hazardous materials that are flammable (Stevens, 2015). There have been appeals to challenge the new rules. However, the safety administration denies these calls since their aim is to reduce incidents in the railroad during transportation of oil. This has increased concern about the transportation of oil over the railroad (Stevens, 2015). Once the railroad has been implemented in this company, new rules that are strict have to be set before the trains are used. Appendix Background Information This proposal is written ... Apparently, they did not do their proper due diligence because Madoff did not have trading records; thus, it was impossible to replicate and analyze those essential documents. In addition, FGG needed to at least, monitor his activities for a couple of months to see what kind of results he is getting. The group is being sued by Massachusetts regulators for not doing due diligence that they claimed they did, misleading their clients, and investing more than a half of their assets into Madoff s firm (Henriques, D.B., April 1, 2009). In addition to it being cinematically masterful, Deren s approach in the choices she made were remarkable and iconic in terms of editing because of the time period s limited technological advances.
