Jonathan Swift Rhetorical Analysis
In 1729 in Dublin, Ireland, preposterous yet devoted Jonathan Swift presents to the people of
Ireland and England an absurd plan that will achieve the ending of the Irish man s poverty, in
doing so the people of Ireland will have to make the ultimate sacrifice by choosing to feast upon a
young healthy child well nursed because they will certainly make a nourishing meal ; Jonathan s
satireproposes the idea of cannibalism to decrease the starvation, Swift hopes to bring awareness
to the inequality the Irish are facing by using appeals to logic, credibility, and emotion. First and
foremost, Swift starts off with an appeal to logic. Swift starts by criticising the kingdom for

Swift soon becomes a credible resource because Jonathan did the math and research to back up the
essay, Swift goes on to explain that I calculate there may be about two hundred thousand couple
whose wives are breeders. Jonathan Swift soon gets even more technical by calculating the
amount of wives there are from one million and a half people. With this information Jonathan
Swift can quickly pinpoint the amount of women who can give birth or as Swift describes it
breed. Swift then moves back into the same math equation to subtract thirty thousand couple, who
are able to maintain their own children...but this being granted, there will remain a hundred and
seventy thousand breeders. This example only proves that Swift is only offering statistical
evidence to make the statement more dependable. Another example of the text that might come
into play that would be considered reliable would be from the sensory imagery side of the text.
For example A young healthy child well nursed, is, at a year old, a most delicious nourishing and
wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled; and I make no doubt that it will

Examples Of If I Were Me Essay
IF I WERE ME
Have you heard the story of the eagle and the crow? In the streets of greater town there lived an
eagle and a crow, they were best friends and used to spend most of the time together, One day the
eagle fell ill and requested the crow to take care of the baby eagle, crow being the best friend
promised the eagle that she will take care of the baby eagle, So the time passed by, the eagle died
and the baby eagle grew in the same nest with crows. An eagle for your knowledge flies very high
and very fast while crows flies low and slow, by nature eagle is fearless while crows lives their
entire life in fear. As the baby eagle grew big it learned to fly like a crow, it feared flying high and
never took a big leap, and it lived its entire life like a crow and died one day.
The moral is simple, we live the life we learn to live and not the one we are capable of living,
Ask a child what he wants to do in his life and you will be amazed by his imagination and then
meet him 25 years hence and he will be living a life entirely different from what he thought he
would in his childhood, Napoleon Hill the father of motivation and author of the best seller Think

Themes In Flowers For Algernon
Daniel Keyes uses a character driven plot to explore themes of God, friendship, and treatment of
the mentally disabled in the novel Flowers for Algernon. By telling the story through Charlie
Gordon, the readers are able to recognize the many inner conflicts and changes that Charlie faces.
Over a nine month period the life of Charlie Gordon is transformed and recalled through a series
of progress reports. The doctors, teachers, and friends that Charlie meets on his journey help him
as well as evolve and transform themselves. In return, the personal thoughts and feelings of the
characters help evolve the plot in its entirety. The main character Charlie Gordon shows the
most change and devolvement over the course of the novel and this is seen in the way he treats
the mouse Algernon. The first time Charlie meets Algernon, they race each other through mazes
and each time Algernon wins. Charlie comes to a conclusion and says, I dint feel bad because I
watched Algernon and I lerned how to finish the amaze even if it takes me a long time. I dint
know mice were so smart (Keyes, 8). This shows Charlie s innocence and kindhearted nature that
makes him look for the best in all people and situations. But as Charlie s intelligence grows so
did his feelings towards Algernon in the sense that he begins to resent him. His impatience to
become intelligent is shown when he says, Nothing is happening. I had lots of tests and differint
kinds of races with Algernnon. I hate that mouse. He always beets me...Those amazes are stoopid
(Keyes, 18). The once simple minded man has been transformed into a more passionate and
irritated adult. As he becomes more intelligent he learns that not everyone is as they seem to be.
The people he once thought were his friends used him as the center of entertainment and jokes.
The Professors and Doctors that make him smart are not all knowing and even make mistakes.
Because of this, his bond with Algernon strengthens and they are able to understand each other in
a way nobody else can. As Algernon s state begins to decline, it is Charlie who is there with him
watching him as he is out of control and confused (Keyes, 214). The final display of their
friendship is shown in the following when Charlie

What Is The Words To Describe The Beauty Of Rama
Lord Rama, sought after in three worlds, was standing there dressed in saffron cloth and with a
smile. The supreme man was in front of me making the moment auspicious. Even though he was
a man, he was a god because of the purity of his heart. He appeared wise because of his travel in
the right path. As he loved without attachment, he was like the great time. He appeared as the
Supreme Being due to his compassion for everyone. The blindfold from my eyes fell off. I could
see the fourteen universes. His blue body reminded me of the sky. Which poet has the words to
describe his beauty?
Page 555
Which ascetic has the words to eulogize him? Hence, I warned my stupid arrogance to stay away
from describing his beauty.
Once I saw Rama I woke up from an everlasting slumber and inertness. In the deep core of the
conscience, not only the destiny but also the maker of destiny resides. The only way to discover
that is love.
My arrogance due to my beauty disappeared after seeing the beauty of Rama. Being inferior to his
beauty did not hurt me. I felt uplifted instead, for offering my youth on his path. Now I understood
that beauty is not only physical. Beauty is neither a bondage nor an infatuation, but a liberation.
The thoughts of Rama overwhelmed me. The fear of sin, curse, torture, old age and death
disappeared.
Two young men approached me. A prominent ascetic was with them. The younger young man had
olive skin with lustrous eyes. He appeared stable, reserved and selfless.

Nuclear Safety Regulations And Measures
On March 11, 2011, an earthquake large enough to cause the earth axis to shift by several inches
(p. 3) sent a massive tsunami rushing towards a forested stretch of the Japanese coast south of
Sendai where the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power reactors stood vulnerable (p. 4). Over the
ensuing weeks, the world watched in horror as a natural disaster transformed into a man made
catastrophe: fail safes failed, cooling systems shut down, nuclear rods melted, communications
broke down, hazardous radioactive exposures and contamination occurred, and masses of people
were displaced. Safety of nuclear powerplants is a very important topic that has significant local and
global implication for environmental health. This book was chosen to help... Show more content on

To summarize, after the earthquake, the initial shutdown of Fukushima s reactors went
according to plan; the real problem was when the second wave of the tsunami struck. A fifty feet
high wave easily surged over the seawall, destroying seawater pumps and drowning the plant s
electrical system and power panels. This rendered the emergency backup generators unusable and
lead to a station blackout. Without any power to run the pumps and valves needed to provide a
steady flow of cooling water, the radioactive fuel would overheat, the remaining water would boil
away, and the core would proceed inexorably toward a meltdown. (p. 12) Serious communication
problems between TEPCO [Tokyo Electric Power Company, operator of the plant] and the
multilayered Japanese government and its huge nuclear bureaucracy hampered recovery efforts in
the hours that followed the nuclear crisis. On paper, all these duties and responsibilities may have
seemed clear. In practice, however, the system proved unworkable. (p. 16) Fukushima nuclear
disaster sparked the debate about the safety of nuclear power in general and the nuclear plant
designs in particular such as how to improve on the current plants safety designs to prevent another
Fukushima like scenario from ever happening. The

Ignorance In Gustave Flaubert s Madame Bovary
Gustave Flaubert depicts setting and physical elements as literal and metaphorical methods of
confinement in his novel Madame Bovary in order to demonstrate Emma Bovary s inability to
escape the myriad of imprisoning forces within her life. Flaubert illustrates clothing as a restraint
placed on Emma, both physically, and metaphorically through her dissatisfaction with her life.
Flaubert delves into the manner in which satirizing Charles overbearing nature explains Emma s
imprisonment by Charles. Flaubert denies the existence of true romance through confinement
within boxes. Additionally, Flaubert represents Emma s naГЇvetГ© through literal and
metaphorical descriptions of setting. Flaubert illustrates both cramped and wide settings to
symbolize Emma s freedom or lack thereof as a result of her gullibility. This imagery allows
Flaubert to successfully demonstrate the oppressive forces in Emma s life through metaphor.

Flaubert reveals Emma s foolishness through her awe at wide open settings. Emma regards open
space as opportunity, as modeled by her affair with Rodolphe. On a trip to Rodolphe s home,
Emma soon found herself in the middle of the field, walking with rapid steps, without looking
behind her (115). Flaubert expresses both Emma s carelessness in her affair, as well as her naive
pursuit of romance with Rodolphe. Emma fantasizes about wide open settings due to her high, and
inaccurate, expectations of others. Emma anticipates a romance with Rodolphe like no other, and
dreams about some splendid city with domes...and cathedrals of white marble (138). Flaubert
represents Emma s childish delusions of prince charming through her conceptions of her ability to
obtain an unbelievable amount of wealth. Flaubert exemplifies Emma s child like fantasies through
her view of large spaces as opportunity for

negatively reported for unhealthy foodand obesity among its consumers. McDonald s is taking
initiatives to improvise its menu, quality of food and the source of it. In a way, the company is
also targeting different market segments and consumer age groups by ads and promotions and
creating an emotional bonding with the brand (Blakely, 2012) (Dhaliwal, 2015).
McDonald s current market share is valued at $121.17 as of 06/02/16. Since the company is
operating in the informal eating out (IEO) segment, it can have short or long term impact of high

Summary Of When David Gets A Concentration Camp
Why should you read this? In this book it shows how a young boy can do things that you wouldn
t think a boy could do. For example David escapes a concentration camp without any parents. He
is told by a man to go to a place called Denmark. David starts his journey. While David is on his
journey he realizes that he cannot do this on his own. So he turns to the God of the green pastures.
You may not realize it but as David goes on his journey his faith starts to grow. It is a great book for
children and even adults!
My favourite part: My favourite part in this book was when David gets himself painted by the
Danish lady Sophie Bang. When David s portrait is painted he is invited to her house for dinner.
There he learns that Demark is a free country. He also learns about a Woman there who had been in

The Controversy Between Mercantilism And Free Trade
The controversy that currently swirls around the phenomenon of globalization is to a large extent a
variation on a much older debate between mercantilist supporters of protectionism and liberal
proponents of free trade. In its classic sixteenth century conception, mercantilism was a policy
aimed at increasing the national wealth via the accumulation of precious metals like gold and silver.
Modern mercantilism, or neomercantilism, is focused instead on accumulation of national wealth
via a trade surplus, which is the result of exporting more than one imports. When a country has a
trade surplus, it both accumulates monetary reserves and promotes the development of domestic
industries.

Consider the following hypothetical example.
A farmer in Minnesota decides to switch from producing soybeans to growing bananas. His
reasoning is that unlike soybean fields, which are very common in the United States, his banana
plantation will be the only one in the continental
United States. The cold climate in Minnesota will make growing bananas difficult, but he plans to
construct acres of enormous greenhouses in which the temperature, humidity, and soil will be
perfect for growing bananas. Of course, these
Minnesota hothouse bananas will be very expensive, and although a few consumers might be
persuaded to pay the premium price for Minnesota bananas because of their high quality or to
support a local producer, the vast majority of shoppers are likely to continue to buy much cheaper
bananas imported from Central
America. However, the farmer has persuaded his local congressional representative to introduce
legislation imposing high tariffs on imported bananas. If that legislation passes, the cost of the tariff
will be passed onto the consumer, making Central American bananas more expensive and

ladies man and encourage him. The boy and the two girls all break up and his life seemed to be
on a steady decline since then. He grows up to become a nerdy, fat, and awkward adolescence

Crawling backward made him look like a doodlebug,7 so I began to call him Doodle, and in time
even Mama and Daddy thought it was a better name than William Armstrong. Only Aunt Nicey

nobody expects much from someone called Doodle. Although Doodle learned to crawl, he
showed no signs of walking, but he wasn t idle. He talked so much that we all quit listening to
what he said. It was about this time that Daddy built him a go cart and I had to pull him around.
At first I just paraded him up and down the piazza,8 but then he started crying to be taken out
into the yard, and it ended up by my having to lug him wherever I went. If I so much as picked
up my cap, he d start crying to go with me and Mama would call from where she was, Take
Doodle with you. He was a burden in many ways. The doctor had said that he mustn t get too
excited, too hot, too cold, or too tired and that he must always be treated gently. A long list of

coming with me, I d run with him across the ends of the cotton rows and careen him around

skin was very sensitive, and he had to wear a big straw hat whenever he went out.

Tulane College Application Essay
I am interested in attending Tulane University because of its academic and social opportunities
as well as its location. Tulane has strong history, theatre, and dance departments. It is important to
me that I go to a university where I can receive the best possible education in the areas that
interest me. I am also interested in Tulane because it is a school where it is very easy to double
major and minor. I have a lot of interests, and I think collegeis the time for me to explore them. The
admissions counselor I spoke with told me that 70% of Tulane students have a minor, 33% have
a double major, and some students even have a triple major. I think this also shows that Tulane is
the type of school that attracts ambitious students with a variety of interests. Additionally, I like
that the core curriculum at Tulane allows students to investigate different areas of interests and
to possibly find a new direction for themselves. The admissions counselor I spoke to also
discussed that around 1/3 of Tulane students study abroad. This appeals to me because I would
like to be able to go study theatre in Europe. Furthermore, I have been studying Spanish for over
seven years, so I am interested in study abroad in Spain where I could be completely immersed in

are many opportunities for freshman to socialize and to make friend before they decide if they
want to be a part of the Greek system. While I am not a huge sports fan, I like the environment of
school spirit that sports give a university. Sports at Tulane create a feeling of school spirit without

Essay on Aristotle s Notion on Eudaimonia and Virtue
In Aristotle s Nicomachean Ethics he accounts that humans should make sacrifices and should
ultimately aim first and foremost for their own happiness . In the paper I will argue that it is
really in a person s best interest to be virtuous . I will do this by first describing Aristotle s notion
on both eudaimoniaand virtue, as well as highlighting the intimate relationship between the two .
Secondly I will talk about the human role in society. Thirdly I will describe the intrinsic tie between
human actions . Finally I will share the importance of performing activities virtuously .
The central notion of Aristotle is eudaimonia or happiness which is best translated as a flourishing
human life . Happiness is a complete and sufficient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However , acting virtuous is the mean to becoming virtuous . There are conditions for virtue
which consist of , having the appropriate inner state , taking pleasure in what your doing , doing it
for certainty and firmness , and being aware of what you are dong . If a person performs a virtuous
act without the right intentions the act is not longer virtuous . Virtue is acquired through
habituation , making or becoming accustom or use to something . A person is not born with virtue
, but by nature is capable of achieving and perfecting virtue . The way in which a person habituates
virtue is by practicing virtuous acts and initiating virtue at a young age .
Happiness is the highest good, being a realization and perfect practice of virtue, which some can
attain, while others have little or none of it... (Aristotle) . The relationship between virtue and
happiness have an close and personal relationship . Virtue is necessary for eudaimonia but it is
not sufficient for eudaimonia . Aristotle believes that virtue is most important to eudaimonia ,
because eudaimonia involves activity which is exhibiting excellence or virtue . Eudaimonia will
be gained when something is developed properly . To exhibit something well one must do it with
excellence ; therefore eudaimonia is dependent on virtue . In order to live a happy life a person
must be virtuous , and in order to be virtuous someone must act in the right way and live by the

Toyota Sienna Is The Cream Of The Crop
As far as minivans go, the Toyota Sienna is the cream of the crop. Well, don t tell that to Honda
and Chrysler as both brands field excellent people movers of their own. Add in the Kia Sedona,
Dodge Grand Caravan, and the Nissan Quest, and there are six models to consider in this once
shrinking, but now very much thriving segment.
Now in its twentieth year and coming to the end of its third generation, the Toyota Sienna has
something no competitors provide: available all wheel drive. The Sienna once offered a standard
four cylinder engine, but wisely scrapped the base engine in 2013, continuing with the V6 alone.

Well, the market has since been rejuvenated, thanks in part to the all new Chrysler Pacifica, which
has caused consumers to revisit the segment. But that s not all in my unscientific analysis what
sets minivans apart from the pack are its dual sliding doors, a feature no crossover has. Instead of
fighting with pivoting doors while attempting to put a car seat and child in place, minivans make it
very easy on parents by handling the door issue for them.
Adding to the minivan advantage are power sliding doors. On the Sienna, the base L model
features sliding doors, but with no power assistance. However, once you reach the LE level, power
assistance with jam protection appears, the latter ensuring little hands are not mangled as the door
shuts. Yes, you ll want to start your Sienna shopping by examining the LE edition first.
Standard Exterior Features by Trim
Beyond the bold front fascia, long profile, and the expected (or at least available) power liftgate,
the distinguishing features on minivans may vary only in small ways. For the 2017 Sienna, a
careful inspection of the trim levels reveals differences, sometimes subtle.
Standard equipment includes automatic projector beam halogen headlamps, a black front grille,
power side mirrors with blind spot mirrors, 17 inch alloy wheels set within all season tires, a color
keyed rear spoiler, an in glass antenna, and black garnish on the liftgate.

The Three Roles Of Berlo s Model Of Communication
Communication is a system where words are arranged into phrases and sentences and with this
system it will make a very significant difference for us and for other people around the world.
According to Pearson, Nelson, Titsworth Harter (2013) many problems come from deficient
communication skills thus the need of effective communication. We all know communication is
verbal but it can also be nonverbal which means it can be in the form of body gestures or facial
expressions where they are unspoken language and in communication, sender and receiver are parts
of the components. Other than the message itself, sender and receiver play an important role for the
communication process to happen. Three factors why sender and receiver own the spoken... Show

One of the models is Berlo s SMCR. Source is the first component for Berlo s Model. According
to Oyero (1969) source can be a person, a group of people, institution or even a company. This
portrays the sender in a communication process. From source, there is message and under
message there other sub components such as the content, elements, treatment, structure and code.
The spoken and unspoken language can be determined in message through those sub
components. The third one is channel, where it can be considered as the method of transferring
the message. Lastly, there is the receiver. Oyero (1969) stated that in Berlo s Model, relationship
between sender and receiver is an important factor for the communication process to happen. For
example, a conversation between Maya and Felix about traffic and this conversation must have
some kind of feedback from both of them. Felix, the sender, said to Maya Traffic is never good
here. Maya, the receiver, would response I agree. It would be great if there is a train or a subway
here. The message is has contents and elements where when the message is conveyed there must be
facial expressions thus spoken and unspoken language comes from both sender and the

Evaluating Rasmussen s Policies Of Academic Integrity
When reviewing Rasmussen s policies of academic integrity, the first very important step is to
ensure that each student is informed as well as equipped to take on the assignments that are asked
of them. As the instructor, it is important to continually make sure expectations are placed before
the students in a clear, understandable, and attainable manner. Additionally, that resources are made
available to help them meet these expectations.
The initial gut reaction to the quality of Bridget s assignments would be of shock and slightly
insulted. Considering her performance previously in class, this action from Bridget I would assume
would have been taken out of desperation. What is believed could possibly account for her action
are several situations. These situations could include, but not limited to, lack of time management,
lack of understanding, fear of the grade that she may ultimately receive in the class with the
previous mediocre quality, also simply not wanting to do the work. Additionally, there could have
been a family situation that resulted in Bridget not be able to complete the work. For these reasons
continually interaction with the students is very important. As the adjunct, through interaction with
this student it will be easier to determine the intention of Bridget.
Considering that it stats in the Rasmussen SOP Do NOT communicate to the student that they have
been accused of an Academic Integrity Violation , there will be limited to no communicationwith

Ozymandias Figurative Language Essay
Poetry of any era furthers our understanding of the current world. This is because many of the
issues we once faced, we still face today. In this short essay I will compare and contrast figurative
language in two poems. The first of which will be Ozymandias by Percy Shelley written in 1818;
and the second of which, will be Ode to a Nightingale by John Keats written a year later in 1819.
Ode to a Nightingale explores the themes of mortality and impermanence. In Shelley s work,
Ozymandias examines the themes of power and mortality. The first thing I have noticed is that both
have a strong focus ancient civilizations and a distinct focal point on the ancient Greeks and
Romans.
In Greek myth, a young woman named Philomela, whose tongue was cut out by her rapist to
prevent her from telling anyone about her molestation; was turned into a ... Show more content on

He alludes to the Lethe, the Greek underworld river of immortality in his first stanza. I believe
the speaker says this because he believes the wine speaks about has mystical powers that will
allow him to live forever. He does not mean this literally of course, but instead it will bring him
into the care free state of the nightingale. Through its imagery, the speakers want (need?) is
conveyed for a drug/drink induced state. It seems as though the speaker wants this so that he can
feel some sort of connection with the Nightingale and nature. The speaker s mood changes and in
the fourth stanza he does not want to turn back to drinking and instead wants to fly on the, wings of
poesy (33). Meaning that he has found his salvation in poetry rather than drink. The speaker s
awareness of the real world pulls him back from his fantasy world of drink joy. He understands that
he cannot become the nightingale as the human world is not withdrawable and mortality is
inescapable. At the same time the poem Ozymandias also uses imagery to convey its

A Central Of Venous Catheter
A central venous catheter is known as a central line or a CVC. A CVC is a thin flexible catheter
that is inserted into a large vein near the heart in either the arm or the chest. (Web MD, 2016) This
central line is used to provide medication, fluids, nutrients, or blood products over a long period of
time. This is generally used for patients who have chemotherapy, frequent blooddraws, need
additional nutritional support, or have kidney failure. (ATS, 2015) There are several
considerations to keep in mind when a CVC is being administered such as understanding why a
CVC is being placed, safety guidelines, teaching considerations, and ways to care for the CVC.
Reasons for needing a CVC
There are several reasons why a CVC may be placed depending on each patient s condition. It is
important for each patient to understand the reason for having a central line inserted; some reasons
may include: I.V. medications for a long period of time, large amounts of fluid, several blood
draws, additional nutrition, or kidney failure. When administering medication over a long period of
time it can be irritating to the vein so a central line is placed so that it is easily tolerated; especially
for chemotherapy medications. When administering fluids through a larger vein it is less irritating
to the vein and it is easier to manage fluid intake. Patients can often have several blood draws daily
in order to run tests to make sure that the treatment and body function is maintaining; so it is ideal

All forms of violence directly affect the health of the victim. The most effective way to approach
violence in a community is to identify the root of the problem, identify those at risk, and treat
those at risk. One way to identify the cause of an issue is to ask the people what they think the
cause of violence in their community is. This could even mean asking the individuals that are
committing the acts of violence why they are being violent towards others or even ask the
community what makes them feel threatened. However, it is going to be difficult to get the violent
citizens to explain to law enforcement agents or medical professionals why they are being violent.
Once the violent citizens trust these professionals it will better help to identify the key cause of
violence. When more people see that professionals are on their side to help them, not put them in
jail, more people will be willing to assess this issue and work with professionals. Since professionals
are working with the violent citizens, they can get the citizens the help that they need to try and
prevent violence. Also, relationships and trust with in the community would have been established
at this point making citizens more likely to get treatment. Once the citizens of the community can

For Environmental Balance, Pick Up a Rifle After reading For Environmental Balance, Pick Up a

lower the deer population, contribute to the economy, and feed hunters families.
To begin, hunting will dramatically lower the deer population as the bucks do not have a chance
to impregnate does, thus preventing an increase in the population. Additionally, the deer
population will decrease as hunters end the lives of deer before they end the lives of humans. I

Organic Foods And Organic Food
In 1980, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) took an interest in organic farming,
publishing a report titled Report and Recommendations on Organic Farming. (Organic Debate,
2014) As organic foods have been growing rapidly in the last 20 years there has been a lot of
talking about whether or not organic foods are healthy. As people today have been eating a lot
more of organic foods they are having arguments stating that organic foodis not what they say on
the labels. Although people think that organic foodis not what the farmers say it is, it still helps
people with there health and provides a healthier lifestyle. In order to maintain the apparent
understanding of organic food buying behaviors of consumers, it can be helpful to examine the
effect of motivating factors on both the attitude towards organic foods and the intention to buy
organic foods together with the mediation effect of attitude towards organic foods (Cabuk, 2014).
People tend to argue on the fact of whether or not organic foods are good for them. According to
Soley s article it states that Organic foods are healthier for consumers, farmers, and the planet,
says Cathy Fichtner, category manager for chocolate, cocoa, caramel, Global Organics, Ltd.

Big Data A New Source
Big Data a new source in Statistics
BIS 625 Research in Information Systems
Back ground:
Social Scientists exhibit overconfidence in the reliability of the statistical data which was achieved
by single or a small sampling. However, the reliability of data is mostly confined to a smaller
volumes. Statistics, when dealing with larger volumes of data exhibit inaccurate results. There are
many factors which affect the end results. This might be due to the improper sampling, improper
handling of large volumes of data or inefficiency in analyzing the large volumes. Growing
technologies are able to handle the data management and analyzing problems. Big Data, is a
modern technology which can handle such large data, analyze it and can get better results. Long
before the term big data emerged, Europe already had a pioneer in the field Alan Turing, the
British mathematician who broke Nazi Germany s Enigma code and is widely viewed as the father
of modern computing and algorithms. (Blau, 2015).
This increased the demand for data scientists across Europe. The larger the volumes of data the
greater the complexity of data and analyzing of data. Getting high varieties and volumes of data at
greater velocities is the advantage of using Big data.(H. Davenport, 2014). The trend of making
information from data has started from decision support followed by execution support, analytical
processing, business Intelligence (BI) ended with Big Data. The design Big data architecture and

Using Logos, Ethos And Pathos In Arguments
During the course of GET1021, I have learnt many critical thinking and writing skills such as
identifying assumptions, distinguishing between deductive and inductive reasoning, evaluating the
reliability of evidence or authorities, identifying flaws in reasoning and using logos, pathos and
ethos in arguments. These skills helped me with my assignments.
I could identify the author s main claim and key arguments quickly. Furthermore, by breaking down
the key arguments into components, I could understand them better. These made it easier for me to
describe and express the author s ideas in my own words for the summary writing. Additionally, I
could distinguish the form and substantiate the validity and soundness or cogency and strength of
the author s argument. I could identify underlying assumptions, fallacies and attempts to appeal to
ethos, pathos, and/or logos in the author s argument as well. I also paid greater attention to the
language and looked out for any statistical evidence and counterargument that the author uses to

Algebra Progression
In regards to algebra the advancement math can be perceived as a puzzle. Each piece plays a
detrimental role in the discovery of the bigger picture. In algebra specifically there are 3
significant stages of progress that have evolved math into what we know today. The first phase
of math to be discovered was rhetorical, which was later followed by syncopated and lastly
symbolic. These three stages of progression also reflect on the advancement of S.T.E.M. based
careers. The initial stage known as the rhetorical level is one that uses no symbols or words. This
prevalent in times such as 1650 BCE to 200 CE. This form of math was most frequently used in
Early Babylonian and Egyptian countries. Rhetorical math required no symbols and due to lack

was voidable at her discretion because she is considered an infant under the law of Hollis. The
legal age to enter into a contract in Hollis is 20 years old and Ariana is 19 years old. There is no

In order to understand whether merit issues are a good or bad method adapted by management to its

contribution towards the organisation goals and achievements.

The Nature Of The Therapeutic Action Of Psychoanalysis
Following the publication of Freud s Papers on Technique between 1912 and 1917, there have been
papers and symposia on the subject. Four symposia in 1937, 1948, 1958, and 1961 were devoted to
the examination of therapeutic results of psychoanalysis, the mechanisms behind its curative
factors, variations in technique and the ego psychological approach to interpretations (Rosenfeld,
1972, 454). In 1934, James Strachey published his paper on The Nature of the Therapeutic Action
of Psychoanalysis, which has since been considered one of the most seminal works on the subject.
He holds that his paper is not a practical discussion upon psychoanalytic technique, and that it s
immediate bearings are theoretical (Strachey, 1934, 127). However, as Herbert Rosenfeld points out
in his 1972 critical appreciation of Strachey s paper, this is clearly an understatement; the paper
both challenges one s clinical experience and has important clinical implications even though actual
case material is not quoted (Rosenfeld, 1972, 454). It would not be difficult to summarize Strachey
s main points regarding therapeutic action and mutative interpretation, and it would prove similarly
sterile to simply compare his ideas with the views of other psychoanalysts, contemporaneous and
contemporary. Instead, as Strachey concerns himself primarily with the structural nature of
mutative change, this paper will aim to delineate a more in depth exploration of the way different
structures of the

Ignorance Is Happiness In Fahrenheit 451 And Pleasantville
The world we know, where we live, comprises a vast amount of knowledge. Knowledge refers to
awareness or familiarity, gained through learning, discoveries, or education. When you are born,
your brain is a blank sheet of paper. As you grow, your mind becomes aware of things and begins
filling the clear sheet of paper. The writing on the paper is precious; thus the knowledgeis
invaluable. Everyone knows that knowledge is precious, but have you ever wondered: can
knowledge make people unhappy, confused or doubtful? Ignoranceis bliss plays a crucial character,
contemplating that question. Ignorance is bliss; a phrase that is well clarified in the book Giver
and the following films: Fahrenheit 451and Pleasantville.
Ignorance is bliss is well elucidated in the book Giver due to the following statements. The book
Giver illustrates that everyone in the community is happy, except Jonas and the Giver. The reason
why Jonas and Giver are unhappy is that they are mindful of all the unpleasant memories that
have been passed on for years. An additional example that supports the phrase Unawareness is
happiness, is, when Jonas s father goes for the releasing of a child, Jonas uncovers that releasing is
death. Before Jonas knew that releasing is death, he agreed on the idea of releasing, but as he
discovers that releasing means death, that instant he says he killed him, my father killed him,
representing a shock, and sadness. The statement, Ignorance is bliss is true because

Iranian Women In Public Spaces
However, this was not the case, and those who followed the Koran and a neo conservative way of
thinking welcomed women into the workplace in larger percentages than would be expected. Amir
Ebrahimi, a scholar on women s physical role in the public in the Middle East supports this by
saying This frequent presence in the different public spaces gave women a new consciousness
about themselves and their individual and citizen rights in the society. These changes can also be
attributed to the want of women to continue life in the public sphere, and to show the government
that they would not become disenfranchised, but rather they would embed the idea of women being
an important pillar in Tehranian public life and culture. By looking at how Tehranian women
navigated the physical public spacein Tehran, one could see how they sought to establish themselves
in public life outside of politics:
Although since the revolution Iranian women have experienced much more governmental control
on their appearance... and behavior in public, they have been actively participating in public spaces
by re appropriating the existing places. In fact, the number of traditional women using public spaces
has dramatically increased after the revolution. Young Iranian women have specifically made use of

Car Assembly Lines Research Paper
Automobile Assembly Lines Henry Ford wanted to put the world on wheels. He and a team of
engineers worked to create the first automotive production line. The assembly line helped Henry
with his dream to mass produce vehicles at the lowest time as possible this made Henry Ford able
to mass produce vehicles at a cheaper cost and limited the power of man. Technology changes the
automotive industries by using assembly lines to mass produce vehicles. This makes vehicles

correlation coefficient.
Results: The mean Pre op PTS was 18.4 degrees with standard deviation of 5.6 degrees. The mean
MDA was 19.7 degrees with standard deviation of 4.9 degrees. The mean Post op PTS was 10.2
degrees with standard deviation of 6.6 degrees. There is strong correlation between Pre op PTS and
MDA with pearson co efficient of 0.79 . Also there is moderate correlation between ratio of Post op

Conclusions: The knees with higher pre op PTS tend to have higher MDA and vice versa.
Although most surgeons are able to achieve the desired PTS at the higher extreme of the widely

the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth stated that, the B 1 has evolved into a close air support
bomber. Flying for 10 12 hours at a time high above the battlefield, B 1 s can carry 50,000

Emile Durkheim s Theories on Suicide Essay
Emile Durkheim s Theories on Suicide
I chose to write about Durkheim s theories on suicide. Although I don t completely agree with all
of them, I will discuss what my text says they are and what I perceive them to be.
Most of Durkheim s work on suicide was published in his third book, Suicide. It was a very
important book because it was a serious effort to establish empiricism in sociology. This
empiricism would provide a sociological perspective on a phenomenon that was previously
psychological and individualistic.
He proposed three major forms of suicide, some with subdivisions. These three forms of suicide
were egoistic, altruistic, and anomic. With egoistic suicide, Durkheim proposes that a person will
commit suicide if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next, altruistic suicide, is the complete opposite of egoistic suicide. A person who commits
altruistic suicide thinks that the larger group is more important than he is. All things of the
larger group take precedent over the individual which leads to suicide. We discussed honorable
suicide under this category and one thing still bothers me from that discussion. Our humble
narrator gave the example of a soldier jumping on a grenade as a form of honorable suicide. I
disagree with this statement. I would argue that this is not a form of suicide but a form of training.
This man or woman is trained to give his life for his country. It isn t logical to think that the person
jumping on the grenade thinks that he is committing suicide. Aside from that aspect, I feel that I
understand this form of suicide the most. I think that being overlooked by the dominant group can
lead to a person taking their own life. There are numerous times where we have seen on the news
about the kid no one paid attention to taking his or her own life.
Next, there is anomic suicide. This idea was the hardest for me to understand because it seems to
go against logic at first. My interpretation of anomic is that a person has to have a set amount or
number of norms or laws imposed on them. There has to be an equal amount to keep the person
balanced. To little or

The History of Insane Asylums Essay
What comes to mind when you hear the words insane asylum ? Do such terms as lunatic, crazy,
scary, or even haunted come to mind? More than likely these are the terminology that most of us
would use to describe our perception of insane asylums. However, those in history that had a heart s
desire to treat the mentally ill compassionately and humanely had a different viewpoint. Insane
asylums were known for their horrendous treatment of the mentally ill, but the ultimate purpose in
the reformation of insane asylums in the nineteenth century was to improve the treatment for the
mentally ill by providing a humane and caring environment for them to reside. The mentally ill
were treated very inhumanly in the early insane asylums. Some of the... Show more content on

This one swung the mentally ill person around while he/she was in a harness. This treatment
supposedly calmed the nerves . (Gray). Needless to say the treatment of the insane was horrid
and unbelievable. In the eighteenth century at Bethlem Royal Hospital in London, the public
could pay a penny for a privilege to watch the freaks ; they could poke the caged patients with a
long stick (Taylor). Overcrowding was a huge issue in the insane asylums. In 1900 based on the
authority of the Lunacy Commissioners report, it was stated that there was one registered lunatic
per every three hundred people. (Chapman 164). Danvers State Hospital was built in 1878 to
house 500 patients. This institution had over 2300 patients at its peak in the 1940s (Taylor). The
over population of insane asylums began to deteriorate them and make them some of the most
horrible places that existed. The conditions in these institutions were barely livable. The workers
were also mean to the patients and did many awful things to them. There were too many patients
and not enough nurses and doctors. This made the nurses work harder and put a lot more stress on
them ( Pennhurst State ). In the 1950s, the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum was occupied by over
2500 people. However, it was built to occupy only 250 people. The conditions were so filthy that
occupants began to get sick and die. Some people were euthanized during this time

The Effects of Legalizing Drugs Essay
Tobacco is the number one preventable killer in America with alcohol at number two (Preventable
Causes of Death). And if drug related crime and deaths were not enough for society, Marijuana is
now legal in Colorado and Washington which has already created new substance related problems.
Just the fact of legalizing it confuses teens into thinking that it s not risky anymore, thus promoting
adolescent use. Legal or not, the addictive nature of pot has always been the most influential
gateway substance to either alcohol, tobacco, or hard drugs. This means that Marijuana is almost
always linked to substance induced destruction whether it s directly or indirectly, legal or illegal,
self destructive or destructive to others. Therefore, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The new policy is confusing in Colorado and Washington, the states that have made it legal for
someone twenty one or over to own an ounce of Marijuana at a time for private recreational use.
The problems with this new legal policy are that it is virtually unenforceable and it contradicts the
Constitution of The United States of America. Article VI Clause 2 of the Constitution states that
the Constitution is the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound
thereby anything in the constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding. This
means that because federal law states that Marijuana is illegal, there is a contradiction when
states try to make it legal. In turn, this causes problems in areas like the federal school district
where federal and state laws tend to clash. At the University of Colorado Boulder, spokesman
Bronson Hillard says that because these schools receive federal funding, they must abide to the no
drugs on campus policy that the rest of America stands by, creating tension and confusion on
campus (Harvey). H.Norman Arkans from University of Washington agrees when he says that they
also are a large recipient of federal money, so there is a conflict. Conflict is right. Now students are
pouring into the campuses stoned and unable to retain any information. Many of the students are
unsure about the laws and get in trouble because the drug is not allowed on campus.

The marketing audit is presented as a factor of Indiana University Southeast s future success. The
paper will compare Bellarmine, Sullivan, Spalding, Purdue Polytechnic of New Albany, and
University of Louisville to Indiana University Southeast. The five universities listed pose as serious
competition for Indiana University Southeast. The audit will go into depth on why these five all
serve the same target market. The paper presents the results of research conducted through the
National Center for Education Statistics and by various collegesearch engines. Based on the
research conducted, the audit states the main factors influencing Indiana University Southeast s
future growth and a better retention rate that have an impact on IUS s progress now. In conclusion,
the audit presents findings and conditions that will better help in fixing IUS S barriers in operating.
I.Competitive Market Analysis
a.Indiana University Southeast has a target market that consists of traditional students that are
under the age of 25. These traditional students are mostly coming to IUS straight out of high school.
Indiana University Southeast is now expanding their target market again to non traditional students
because of the decreasing high school graduate rate from Clark, Floyd, and Harrison county high

Differences And Components Of The Baptist Faith And Message
Introduction Baptists are believers with profound beliefs in the authority of the Old and New
Testaments. In order to teach and defend the faith, Baptist churches and associations adopted
doctrinal commitments and core beliefs through the Baptist Faith and Message (BF M). The
Statement were derived from the New Hampshire Confession of Faith of 1883, but was revised to
meet the needs of Baptists. The BF M statements were considered merely a confession of the
Baptists beliefs and not meant to be a creed. Fundamentally, the role of the BaptistFaith and
Message was to adopt statements that would clarify the atmosphere and remove some causes of
misunderstanding, friction, and apprehension These confessions of faith were implemented to
confirm repentance to God, perpetuate faith in JesusChrist, and fulfil the Great Commission.
Further, the statements are intended to clarify and provide guidance of the basic beliefs that stands
as the foundation of the Baptist s faith, witness, and worship. As an autonomous body, the local
congregation is considered to be independent in its faith and fellowship of the gospel.
This paper will compare and contrast the ecclesiological portions of the Baptist Faith and Message
doctrinal statements of 1925 (section XII), 1963 (section VI), and 2000 (section VI). Further, it will
identify and explain similarities and differences in the three statements. Finally, it will explain the
changes in the Baptist Faith Message.

Hustler Vs Falwell Case Study
I. Hustler v. Falwell II.485 U.S. 46 (1988)III. Facts: In Hustler v. Falwell a dispute arose when
Hustler Magazine, a a magazine that circulates nationwide featured a parody of an advertisement
for Campari Liqueur. The inside front cover of the magazine presented interviews with
celebrities who described their first time. One of the parodies belonged to Jerry Falwell, a
nationally acclaimed minister who was featured as describing his first time with his mother
when they were both intoxicated from drinking Campari Liqueur. While the interviews with the
celebrities contained a double sexual reference, it was evident in the end that the ads were
referring to the first time the celebrities had tried Campari Liqueur. However, after the magazine
was accessible to the public, Jerry Falwell sued Hustler Magazine and its publisher for libel,
invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. At trial court the judge
dismissed the invasion of privacy claim and then sent the case to the jury where they ruled
Hustler Magazine on the claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress and awarded Jerry
Falwell $150,000. The case was then taken to the Supreme Court level on appeal by the petitioner,
Jerry Falwell. IV. Issues: (1) Does the First Amendment s freedom of speech prohibit public figures
from recovering damages for intentional infliction of emotional distress? V. Decision and Action:

I chose the eruption of Mont Pelee in Martinique in 1902, to discuss this week. This volcano is a
stratovolcano that began to release pyroclastic flows in the early months of 1902, shortly after
the eruptions began it was evident that a larger eruption was imminent. In preparation for this
eruption, the town of about 25,000 people began to evacuate in groups of about 300 a day to a
nearby town called St. Pierre. On 5 May, a larger eruption occurred which caused further anxiety,
but the Governor of the area was concerned with an upcoming election on 10 May, so he used his
power to prevent people from leaving the area, which resulted in everyone left in the town
(Abbott.) The VEI of the eruption is assessed to be a VEI of 4. In the case of this

Essay on Standard Machines Pricing
I. Who should take the blame for getting Standard Machines Corp into the crisis it faces vis Г vis
closing on a major sale with an established account?
The blame for Standard Machine Corp can be directed in one of three ways:
Industry: One could argue that innovation in the machine tool equipment industry has been
stagnant and resulting caused customers to view machines as commodities and compete on price.
Another thought is that the industry allowed a low cost player to enter and therefore put the
premium priced equipment manufactures in a position of having to rationalize their price.
Unfortunately, competition on price erodes industry margins and profits.
Standard Machine Corp Management: The fact that a major account has ... Show more content on

Although we do not believe that it is wise for Standard Machine Corp to lower their prices,
essentially commoditizing their products, it is important for them to manage their customer
relationships on an individual basis. By this we mean that Standard should find ways to justify their
price premium. This may be done by offering packages uniquely customized to retain their long
term clients. Specifically, for long term customers like Occidental, Standard must justify their
$22,000 premium over their competitors within the market.
One way to address this issue would be through rebates. Standard could offer customized rebate
packages to its premium customers, like Occidental. Although they are, in effect, lowering their
prices for Occidental, they are not sending a negative signal to the market. An outright price
decrease could create a price war, where their competitors continue to drive down their own prices,
further commoditizing Standard s line of products. A rebate would offer an incentive for Occidental
to purchase, because the company knows that they will be rewarded on the back end.
Another way for Standard to remedy this pricing situation is to offer additional services along with
its milling machine in order to further differentiate themselves from their competitors. Standard s
package could include an unlimited warrantee for a specified amount of time greater than that of its
competitor, and an increase in on site

Why Do People Commit Crimes In The 16th Century
Crimes and Punishments in the 16th Century
The punishments in the 16th century were extremely firm and horrifying for criminals. People
who committed crimes in the 16th century had to face serious punishments, such as the rack,
weight placed on breast, and were placed on a sharp stone. Not to mention in this time period,
people were living in poverty and some people could not find money to buy food for their
families. The population of England was growing faster than food resources. One result of this was
occasional and localized food shortages so severe as to occasion hunger, starvation, and death
(Morgan 288). In addition, many people did not have money even to buy basic things they needed
to survive and many of them became criminals in the eye of the 16th century law. Punishments in
the 16th century were unjust able for crimes such as begging, theft, and treason. ... Show more

The Role Of Ignorance In Literature
Authors all write in different ways. They all have different minds and ideas. Even though
authors think differently, they still are alike in a weird way. They also don t think alike and they
all have their different ways of writing their thoughts. While reading all 4 different essays, I ve
learned a lot about trying to understand how other people think. All four essays have something
in common, and I believe that ignorance is one of the biggest common factors in all of the stories.
They may all have a different way in showing ignorance because every essay has a different story
line. It was easiest to spot out ignorance in Maya Angelous essay Graduation, rather than in Welty s

That man, Edward, reminds me more of Berube s Paying for Freedom essay. Paying for Freedom
goes into say that we don t just get freedom, we have to work for it. Hard. We can t sit around and
wait for everything we want to just fall right into our laps. Nobody in life can be ignorant and
uneducated in the things they are trying to educate someone else about. They also need to
understand how to respect other opinions with certain things like that.
Ignorance is something that people don t always understand in today s time. There is something
about ignorance that people don t always understand. Maybe they don t understand what ignorance
is, but they seem to think that s actually the answer for some things. Ignorance plays a big part in
The Intellectual Free Lunch, by Kinsley. Kinsley goes on to teach us about how we need to know
the facts before we pass it on to others. We aren t allowed to come up with an answer to something
because we think it should be that way, we need to know the knowledge behind everything that we
try to pass onto others. We shouldn t be ignorant because we want an answer to something to be a
certain way, because if we all just came up with our own answers, we wouldn t know the truth

  • 2. Jonathan Swift Rhetorical Analysis In 1729 in Dublin, Ireland, preposterous yet devoted Jonathan Swift presents to the people of Ireland and England an absurd plan that will achieve the ending of the Irish man s poverty, in doing so the people of Ireland will have to make the ultimate sacrifice by choosing to feast upon a young healthy child well nursed because they will certainly make a nourishing meal ; Jonathan s satireproposes the idea of cannibalism to decrease the starvation, Swift hopes to bring awareness to the inequality the Irish are facing by using appeals to logic, credibility, and emotion. First and foremost, Swift starts off with an appeal to logic. Swift starts by criticising the kingdom for example I think it is agreed by all parties, that this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Swift soon becomes a credible resource because Jonathan did the math and research to back up the essay, Swift goes on to explain that I calculate there may be about two hundred thousand couple whose wives are breeders. Jonathan Swift soon gets even more technical by calculating the amount of wives there are from one million and a half people. With this information Jonathan Swift can quickly pinpoint the amount of women who can give birth or as Swift describes it breed. Swift then moves back into the same math equation to subtract thirty thousand couple, who are able to maintain their own children...but this being granted, there will remain a hundred and seventy thousand breeders. This example only proves that Swift is only offering statistical evidence to make the statement more dependable. Another example of the text that might come into play that would be considered reliable would be from the sensory imagery side of the text. For example A young healthy child well nursed, is, at a year old, a most delicious nourishing and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled; and I make no doubt that it will equally serve in a fricasie, or ... • 3. Examples Of If I Were Me Essay IF I WERE ME Have you heard the story of the eagle and the crow? In the streets of greater town there lived an eagle and a crow, they were best friends and used to spend most of the time together, One day the eagle fell ill and requested the crow to take care of the baby eagle, crow being the best friend promised the eagle that she will take care of the baby eagle, So the time passed by, the eagle died and the baby eagle grew in the same nest with crows. An eagle for your knowledge flies very high and very fast while crows flies low and slow, by nature eagle is fearless while crows lives their entire life in fear. As the baby eagle grew big it learned to fly like a crow, it feared flying high and never took a big leap, and it lived its entire life like a crow and died one day. The moral is simple, we live the life we learn to live and not the one we are capable of living, Ask a child what he wants to do in his life and you will be amazed by his imagination and then meet him 25 years hence and he will be living a life entirely different from what he thought he would in his childhood, Napoleon Hill the father of motivation and author of the best seller Think and Grow Rich says that all limitations are set in mind, if we can free our mind from the limitations we can free our self to live a life we are capable of living. • 4. Themes In Flowers For Algernon Daniel Keyes uses a character driven plot to explore themes of God, friendship, and treatment of the mentally disabled in the novel Flowers for Algernon. By telling the story through Charlie Gordon, the readers are able to recognize the many inner conflicts and changes that Charlie faces. Over a nine month period the life of Charlie Gordon is transformed and recalled through a series of progress reports. The doctors, teachers, and friends that Charlie meets on his journey help him as well as evolve and transform themselves. In return, the personal thoughts and feelings of the characters help evolve the plot in its entirety. The main character Charlie Gordon shows the most change and devolvement over the course of the novel and this is seen in the way he treats the mouse Algernon. The first time Charlie meets Algernon, they race each other through mazes and each time Algernon wins. Charlie comes to a conclusion and says, I dint feel bad because I watched Algernon and I lerned how to finish the amaze even if it takes me a long time. I dint know mice were so smart (Keyes, 8). This shows Charlie s innocence and kindhearted nature that makes him look for the best in all people and situations. But as Charlie s intelligence grows so did his feelings towards Algernon in the sense that he begins to resent him. His impatience to become intelligent is shown when he says, Nothing is happening. I had lots of tests and differint kinds of races with Algernnon. I hate that mouse. He always beets me...Those amazes are stoopid (Keyes, 18). The once simple minded man has been transformed into a more passionate and irritated adult. As he becomes more intelligent he learns that not everyone is as they seem to be. The people he once thought were his friends used him as the center of entertainment and jokes. The Professors and Doctors that make him smart are not all knowing and even make mistakes. Because of this, his bond with Algernon strengthens and they are able to understand each other in a way nobody else can. As Algernon s state begins to decline, it is Charlie who is there with him watching him as he is out of control and confused (Keyes, 214). The final display of their friendship is shown in the following when Charlie ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. What Is The Words To Describe The Beauty Of Rama Lord Rama, sought after in three worlds, was standing there dressed in saffron cloth and with a smile. The supreme man was in front of me making the moment auspicious. Even though he was a man, he was a god because of the purity of his heart. He appeared wise because of his travel in the right path. As he loved without attachment, he was like the great time. He appeared as the Supreme Being due to his compassion for everyone. The blindfold from my eyes fell off. I could see the fourteen universes. His blue body reminded me of the sky. Which poet has the words to describe his beauty? Page 555 Which ascetic has the words to eulogize him? Hence, I warned my stupid arrogance to stay away from describing his beauty. Once I saw Rama I woke up from an everlasting slumber and inertness. In the deep core of the conscience, not only the destiny but also the maker of destiny resides. The only way to discover that is love. My arrogance due to my beauty disappeared after seeing the beauty of Rama. Being inferior to his beauty did not hurt me. I felt uplifted instead, for offering my youth on his path. Now I understood that beauty is not only physical. Beauty is neither a bondage nor an infatuation, but a liberation. The thoughts of Rama overwhelmed me. The fear of sin, curse, torture, old age and death disappeared. Two young men approached me. A prominent ascetic was with them. The younger young man had olive skin with lustrous eyes. He appeared stable, reserved and selfless. Who are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nuclear Safety Regulations And Measures On March 11, 2011, an earthquake large enough to cause the earth axis to shift by several inches (p. 3) sent a massive tsunami rushing towards a forested stretch of the Japanese coast south of Sendai where the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power reactors stood vulnerable (p. 4). Over the ensuing weeks, the world watched in horror as a natural disaster transformed into a man made catastrophe: fail safes failed, cooling systems shut down, nuclear rods melted, communications broke down, hazardous radioactive exposures and contamination occurred, and masses of people were displaced. Safety of nuclear powerplants is a very important topic that has significant local and global implication for environmental health. This book was chosen to help... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To summarize, after the earthquake, the initial shutdown of Fukushima s reactors went according to plan; the real problem was when the second wave of the tsunami struck. A fifty feet high wave easily surged over the seawall, destroying seawater pumps and drowning the plant s electrical system and power panels. This rendered the emergency backup generators unusable and lead to a station blackout. Without any power to run the pumps and valves needed to provide a steady flow of cooling water, the radioactive fuel would overheat, the remaining water would boil away, and the core would proceed inexorably toward a meltdown. (p. 12) Serious communication problems between TEPCO [Tokyo Electric Power Company, operator of the plant] and the multilayered Japanese government and its huge nuclear bureaucracy hampered recovery efforts in the hours that followed the nuclear crisis. On paper, all these duties and responsibilities may have seemed clear. In practice, however, the system proved unworkable. (p. 16) Fukushima nuclear disaster sparked the debate about the safety of nuclear power in general and the nuclear plant designs in particular such as how to improve on the current plants safety designs to prevent another Fukushima like scenario from ever happening. Ignorance In Gustave Flaubert s Madame Bovary Gustave Flaubert depicts setting and physical elements as literal and metaphorical methods of confinement in his novel Madame Bovary in order to demonstrate Emma Bovary s inability to escape the myriad of imprisoning forces within her life. Flaubert delves into the manner in which satirizing Charles overbearing nature explains Emma s imprisonment by Charles. Flaubert denies the existence of true romance through confinement within boxes. Additionally, Flaubert represents Emma s naГЇvetГ© through literal and metaphorical descriptions of setting. Flaubert expresses both Emma s carelessness in her affair, as well as her naive pursuit of romance with Rodolphe. The Controversy Between Mercantilism And Free Trade The controversy that currently swirls around the phenomenon of globalization is to a large extent a variation on a much older debate between mercantilist supporters of protectionism and liberal proponents of free trade. In its classic sixteenth century conception, mercantilism was a policy aimed at increasing the national wealth via the accumulation of precious metals like gold and silver. Modern mercantilism, or neomercantilism, is focused instead on accumulation of national wealth via a trade surplus, which is the result of exporting more than one imports. Additionally, I like that the core curriculum at Tulane allows students to investigate different areas of interests and to possibly find a new direction for themselves. The admissions counselor I spoke to also discussed that around 1/3 of Tulane students study abroad. This appeals to me because I would like to be able to go study theatre in Europe. I will do this by first describing Aristotle s notion on both eudaimoniaand virtue, as well as highlighting the intimate relationship between the two . Secondly I will talk about the human role in society. Thirdly I will describe the intrinsic tie between human actions . Finally I will share the importance of performing activities virtuously . A person is not born with virtue , but by nature is capable of achieving and perfecting virtue . The way in which a person habituates virtue is by practicing virtuous acts and initiating virtue at a young age . Instead of fighting with pivoting doors while attempting to put a car seat and child in place, minivans make it very easy on parents by handling the door issue for them. Adding to the minivan advantage are power sliding doors. On the Sienna, the base L model features sliding doors, but with no power assistance. That would be the only acceptable way that I could see someone being moved up on the list and I have heard of this happening before. According to Pearson, Nelson, Titsworth Harter (2013) many problems come from deficient communication skills thus the need of effective communication. We all know communication is verbal but it can also be nonverbal which means it can be in the form of body gestures or facial expressions where they are unspoken language and in communication, sender and receiver are parts of the components. Evaluating Rasmussen s Policies Of Academic Integrity When reviewing Rasmussen s policies of academic integrity, the first very important step is to ensure that each student is informed as well as equipped to take on the assignments that are asked of them. As the instructor, it is important to continually make sure expectations are placed before the students in a clear, understandable, and attainable manner. Additionally, that resources are made available to help them meet these expectations. The initial gut reaction to the quality of Bridget s assignments would be of shock and slightly insulted. Considering her performance previously in class, this action from Bridget I would assume would have been taken out of desperation. What is believed could possibly account for her action are several situations. These situations could include, but not limited to, lack of time management, lack of understanding, fear of the grade that she may ultimately receive in the class with the previous mediocre quality, also simply not wanting to do the work. Additionally, there could have been a family situation that resulted in Bridget not be able to complete the work. For these reasons continually interaction with the students is very important. In this short essay I will compare and contrast figurative language in two poems. The first of which will be Ozymandias by Percy Shelley written in 1818; and the second of which, will be Ode to a Nightingale by John Keats written a year later in 1819. Ode to a Nightingale explores the themes of mortality and impermanence. In Shelley s work, Ozymandias examines the themes of power and mortality. The first thing I have noticed is that both have a strong focus ancient civilizations and a distinct focal point on the ancient Greeks and Romans. I believe the speaker says this because he believes the wine speaks about has mystical powers that will allow him to live forever. Through its imagery, the speakers want (need?) is conveyed for a drug/drink induced state. It seems as though the speaker wants this so that he can feel some sort of connection with the Nightingale and nature. The speaker s mood changes and in the fourth stanza he does not want to turn back to drinking and instead wants to fly on the, wings of poesy (33). Meaning that he has found his salvation in poetry rather than drink. The speaker s awareness of the real world pulls him back from his fantasy world of drink joy. A CVC is a thin flexible catheter that is inserted into a large vein near the heart in either the arm or the chest. (Web MD, 2016) This central line is used to provide medication, fluids, nutrients, or blood products over a long period of time. This is generally used for patients who have chemotherapy, frequent blooddraws, need additional nutritional support, or have kidney failure. (ATS, 2015) There are several considerations to keep in mind when a CVC is being administered such as understanding why a CVC is being placed, safety guidelines, teaching considerations, and ways to care for the CVC. Reasons for needing a CVC There are several reasons why a CVC may be placed depending on each patient s condition. It is important for each patient to understand the reason for having a central line inserted; some reasons may include: I.V. medications for a long period of time, large amounts of fluid, several blood draws, additional nutrition, or kidney failure. When administering medication over a long period of time it can be irritating to the vein so a central line is placed so that it is easily tolerated; especially for chemotherapy medications. This could even mean asking the individuals that are committing the acts of violence why they are being violent towards others or even ask the community what makes them feel threatened. Four symposia in 1937, 1948, 1958, and 1961 were devoted to the examination of therapeutic results of psychoanalysis, the mechanisms behind its curative factors, variations in technique and the ego psychological approach to interpretations (Rosenfeld, 1972, 454). In 1934, James Strachey published his paper on The Nature of the Therapeutic Action of Psychoanalysis, which has since been considered one of the most seminal works on the subject. He holds that his paper is not a practical discussion upon psychoanalytic technique, and that it s immediate bearings are theoretical (Strachey, 1934, 127). However, as Herbert Rosenfeld points out in his 1972 critical appreciation of Strachey s paper, this is clearly an understatement; the paper both challenges one s clinical experience and has important clinical implications even though actual case material is not quoted (Rosenfeld, 1972, 454). It would not be difficult to summarize Strachey s main points regarding therapeutic action and mutative interpretation, and it would prove similarly sterile to simply compare his ideas with the views of other psychoanalysts, contemporaneous and contemporary. Ignoranceis bliss plays a crucial character, contemplating that question. Ignorance is bliss; a phrase that is well clarified in the book Giver and the following films: Fahrenheit 451and Pleasantville. Ignorance is bliss is well elucidated in the book Giver due to the following statements. The book Giver illustrates that everyone in the community is happy, except Jonas and the Giver. The reason why Jonas and Giver are unhappy is that they are mindful of all the unpleasant memories that have been passed on for years. An additional example that supports the phrase Unawareness is happiness, is, when Jonas s father goes for the releasing of a child, Jonas uncovers that releasing is death. Conclusions: The knees with higher pre op PTS tend to have higher MDA and vice versa. Although most surgeons are able to achieve the desired PTS at the higher extreme of the widely accepted range of 0 7 degrees , patients with MDA above 19 degree tend to have post op PTS significantly higher than the desired range making them vulnerable to complications. Hence , necessary modifications (like pre operative templating, intra operative extramedullary zig angle setting, using intra medullary zigs etc ) shall be done in the current protocols to achieve desired PTS in patients with knees having MDA in the higher ... The Air Force does not have the proper number of funds for the Air Force to maintain its active aircraft. As I stated previously. Many of the active aircraft are old and no longer in production. Many of the old aircraft need a lot of maintenance. Thus rely on many of the retired air craft for broken parts. Congress needs to be able to loosen their wallet and propose more money into the military. The military in general needs the funds to be able to invest in new reliable and more cost efficient air craft. Instead of relying on our old aircraft. Col. Gentry Boswell, commander of the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth stated that, the B 1 has evolved into a close air support bomber. Flying for 10 12 hours at a time high above the battlefield, B 1 s can carry 50,000 pounds of weapons, mostly satellite guided bombs, but only half of these supersonic bombers can actually fly right now. • 40. Emile Durkheim s Theories on Suicide Essay Emile Durkheim s Theories on Suicide I chose to write about Durkheim s theories on suicide. Although I don t completely agree with all of them, I will discuss what my text says they are and what I perceive them to be. Most of Durkheim s work on suicide was published in his third book, Suicide. It was a very important book because it was a serious effort to establish empiricism in sociology. This empiricism would provide a sociological perspective on a phenomenon that was previously psychological and individualistic. He proposed three major forms of suicide, some with subdivisions. These three forms of suicide were egoistic, altruistic, and anomic. With egoistic suicide, Durkheim proposes that a person will commit suicide if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next, altruistic suicide, is the complete opposite of egoistic suicide. A person who commits altruistic suicide thinks that the larger group is more important than he is. All things of the larger group take precedent over the individual which leads to suicide. We discussed honorable suicide under this category and one thing still bothers me from that discussion. Our humble narrator gave the example of a soldier jumping on a grenade as a form of honorable suicide. I disagree with this statement. I would argue that this is not a form of suicide but a form of training. This man or woman is trained to give his life for his country. It isn t logical to think that the person jumping on the grenade thinks that he is committing suicide. Aside from that aspect, I feel that I understand this form of suicide the most. I think that being overlooked by the dominant group can lead to a person taking their own life. There are numerous times where we have seen on the news about the kid no one paid attention to taking his or her own life. Next, there is anomic suicide. This idea was the hardest for me to understand because it seems to go against logic at first. My interpretation of anomic is that a person has to have a set amount or number of norms or laws imposed on them. There has to be an equal amount to keep the person balanced. To little or ... More than likely these are the terminology that most of us would use to describe our perception of insane asylums. However, those in history that had a heart s desire to treat the mentally ill compassionately and humanely had a different viewpoint. Insane asylums were known for their horrendous treatment of the mentally ill, but the ultimate purpose in the reformation of insane asylums in the nineteenth century was to improve the treatment for the mentally ill by providing a humane and caring environment for them to reside. This one swung the mentally ill person around while he/she was in a harness. This treatment supposedly calmed the nerves . (Gray). Needless to say the treatment of the insane was horrid and unbelievable. In the eighteenth century at Bethlem Royal Hospital in London, the public could pay a penny for a privilege to watch the freaks ; they could poke the caged patients with a long stick (Taylor). Overcrowding was a huge issue in the insane asylums. In 1900 based on the authority of the Lunacy Commissioners report, it was stated that there was one registered lunatic per every three hundred people. (Chapman 164). Danvers State Hospital was built in 1878 to house 500 patients. This institution had over 2300 patients at its peak in the 1940s (Taylor). The over population of insane asylums began to deteriorate them and make them some of the most horrible places that existed. The conditions in these institutions were barely livable. The workers were also mean to the patients and did many awful things to them. There were too many patients and not enough nurses and doctors. This made the nurses work harder and put a lot more stress on them ( Pennhurst State ). In the 1950s, the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum was occupied by over 2500 people. However, it was built to occupy only 250 people. The conditions were so filthy that occupants began to get sick and die. Some people were euthanized during this time ... • 42. The Effects of Legalizing Drugs Essay Tobacco is the number one preventable killer in America with alcohol at number two (Preventable Causes of Death). And if drug related crime and deaths were not enough for society, Marijuana is now legal in Colorado and Washington which has already created new substance related problems. Just the fact of legalizing it confuses teens into thinking that it s not risky anymore, thus promoting adolescent use. Legal or not, the addictive nature of pot has always been the most influential gateway substance to either alcohol, tobacco, or hard drugs. This means that Marijuana is almost always linked to substance induced destruction whether it s directly or indirectly, legal or illegal, self destructive or destructive to others. Therefore, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The new policy is confusing in Colorado and Washington, the states that have made it legal for someone twenty one or over to own an ounce of Marijuana at a time for private recreational use. The problems with this new legal policy are that it is virtually unenforceable and it contradicts the Constitution of The United States of America. Article VI Clause 2 of the Constitution states that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby anything in the constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding. This means that because federal law states that Marijuana is illegal, there is a contradiction when states try to make it legal. In turn, this causes problems in areas like the federal school district where federal and state laws tend to clash. At the University of Colorado Boulder, spokesman Bronson Hillard says that because these schools receive federal funding, they must abide to the no drugs on campus policy that the rest of America stands by, creating tension and confusion on campus (Harvey). H.Norman Arkans from University of Washington agrees when he says that they also are a large recipient of federal money, so there is a conflict. Conflict is right. Many of the students are unsure about the laws and get in trouble because the drug is not allowed on campus. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to teach and defend the faith, Baptist churches and associations adopted doctrinal commitments and core beliefs through the Baptist Faith and Message (BF M). The Statement were derived from the New Hampshire Confession of Faith of 1883, but was revised to meet the needs of Baptists. The BF M statements were considered merely a confession of the Baptists beliefs and not meant to be a creed. Falwell a dispute arose when Hustler Magazine, a a magazine that circulates nationwide featured a parody of an advertisement for Campari Liqueur. The inside front cover of the magazine presented interviews with celebrities who described their first time. One of the parodies belonged to Jerry Falwell, a nationally acclaimed minister who was featured as describing his first time with his mother when they were both intoxicated from drinking Campari Liqueur. While the interviews with the celebrities contained a double sexual reference, it was evident in the end that the ads were referring to the first time the celebrities had tried Campari Liqueur. However, after the magazine was accessible to the public, Jerry Falwell sued Hustler Magazine and its publisher for libel, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. At trial court the judge dismissed the invasion of privacy claim and then sent the case to the jury where they ruled Hustler Magazine on the claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress and awarded Jerry Falwell $150,000. The case was then taken to the Supreme Court level on appeal by the petitioner, Jerry Falwell. IV. The blame for Standard Machine Corp can be directed in one of three ways: Industry: One could argue that innovation in the machine tool equipment industry has been stagnant and resulting caused customers to view machines as commodities and compete on price. Another thought is that the industry allowed a low cost player to enter and therefore put the premium priced equipment manufactures in a position of having to rationalize their price. Unfortunately, competition on price erodes industry margins and profits. Standard Machine Corp Management: The fact that a major account has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although we do not believe that it is wise for Standard Machine Corp to lower their prices, essentially commoditizing their products, it is important for them to manage their customer relationships on an individual basis. By this we mean that Standard should find ways to justify their price premium. This may be done by offering packages uniquely customized to retain their long term clients. Specifically, for long term customers like Occidental, Standard must justify their $22,000 premium over their competitors within the market. One way to address this issue would be through rebates. Standard could offer customized rebate packages to its premium customers, like Occidental. Although they are, in effect, lowering their prices for Occidental, they are not sending a negative signal to the market. An outright price decrease could create a price war, where their competitors continue to drive down their own prices, further commoditizing Standard s line of products. A rebate would offer an incentive for Occidental to purchase, because the company knows that they will be rewarded on the back end. Another way for Standard to remedy this pricing situation is to offer additional services along with its milling machine in order to further differentiate themselves from their competitors. People who committed crimes in the 16th century had to face serious punishments, such as the rack, weight placed on breast, and were placed on a sharp stone. Not to mention in this time period, people were living in poverty and some people could not find money to buy food for their families. The population of England was growing faster than food resources. One result of this was occasional and localized food shortages so severe as to occasion hunger, starvation, and death (Morgan 288).
