The Silkwood Movie Essay
Summary The Silkwood Movie is about a nuclear facility, and the lives of three people who worked
there. This movie is based off a true story, about the conditions and safety concerns for the nuclear
plants, back when the research was still lacking. The main problems in the movie, is when it came to
the health of the workers from the chemicals let off from the nuclear plant. The three main characters
are: Karen Silkwood (the main character), Drew Stevens (the boyfriend), and Dolly Pelliker (the
roommate). All of these characters worked in the nuclear plant and were exposed to the plants poor
safety conditions. Being exposed to the plutonium caused the main character Karen Silkwood, to raise
awareness of the health concerns to the workers, from the exposure of plutonium. In an article by,
Live Science, plutonium is explained as a radioactive silver metal, that is a byproduct of the nuclear
power industry ( sjkdfkljshd). Plutonium has also been linked to causing cancer in people who were
exposed to high levels of the chemical. Karen s main focus was to get the Union on her side, because
many of the workers already knew the health risks and decided to ignore them. Most of the workers
did care about their health, however; they needed the job from working at the nuclear facility. Later
Karen was exposed to high levels of plutonium, but the causes of her death were unknown.
How the movie pertains to class In Safety Education there are many safety concerns and conditions

Faith In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
Young Goodman Brown story was very interesting as it talked about God and Brown s faith. When he
went out in the forest in Salem Village, I believed everything that happened was something conjured
by evil but Brown put himself in that situation. That morning, his wife Faith asked him for a hug and
kiss, and tried to convince her husband Brown, not to go into the forest at night. She whispered in his
ear, Put off your journey until sunrise, and sleep in your own bed tonight, (Brown 386). Faith was a
Godly woman who always prayed for her and her husband. She too had troubled dreams and thoughts.
She was afraid of herself sometimes, especially of her thoughts. Brown never knew about her doubtful
thoughts. Brown didn t understand with it being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Faith knew that she wasn t strong enough to go against the devil. She was all in doubt, questioning her
own faith, but just always tried/ wanted to stay strong for Brown. Once Brown started seeing
everybody else crossover including his wife Faith, he too begin to doubt his own faith, and belief in
God. Brown started to feel himself get weak, so he lifts his hands to pray. When he started praying, a
dark black cloud shifted northward and came along some confused doubtful voices. A lot of voices
was clouding Brown s mind but he stayed strong, and firm. He didn t let nothing, or nobody get to
him. He was very hurt by the fact of seeing his wife crossing over to the devil side. Brown got back
home and saw his wife sitting there with the same pink ribbons in her head. He then too began to think
that he was dreaming or if it was a true story or not. As I stated at the beginning of my essay,
everything that had happened was something convinced by evil. The evil Travelers were trying to
convince others to be of the Devil and not God. Now he wonders why his neither Grandfather nor
Father took that dark gloomy path, and was always in the house before midnight. He also sees why his
wife didn t want him to go on that evil journey. Brown doesn t know what to believe, he doesn t know
if his wife crossed over to be with the devil or not. His mind is playing tricks on him. Since Brown is
having those thoughts, he

My Major Relating to Gaming Essay
Choosing a major for the under graduate studies is an elementary task for all the students who are
done with their High school and when it was my turn to decide, I knew that I wanted to take up a
major which was related to gaming. However, convincing my parents to let me choose a not so
traditional major was next to impossible. Instead, they convinced me to take up Information
Technology as my major. As the saying goes, parents are always right, I now have the foundation
required for Game Engineering and I wish to introduce myself as Anirudh Vemuri, a prospective
student aspiring to pursue my Masters in the United States, the forefront in Game Development.

My other project titled The Game Master was a website designed on C# .Net and SQL Server, gave
me an insight on how E commerce functions with the gaming industry. After graduating, I started
working at Amazon development centre as a Digital specialist which increased my exposure to the
latest games and the next generation consoles in the industry.
My lack of categorization of the tasks I perform sometimes make me pedantic but I believe that it is
good to give importance to every minute detail in the world of gaming. I do not come from a family of
means but that did not stop me from achieving the goals I set for myself. I plan to put in a great deal of
effort for my graduate studies in Game Engineering as I have been waiting for this opportunity for
more than five years and there is no better place to pursue my masters than University of Utah, the
place where student projects turn out to be innovative and beautiful Indie games like Erie which
scared a lot of people and received many awards. Not to mention the amalgamation of state of the art
facilities in the Master Games Studio and the scholarly faculty which include professors like Roger
Alan Altizer who made some prominent publications on gaming and served as an adviser/executive

Malaria Is An Infectious Disease
Background Malaria is considered as one of the deadliest diseases around the world. The cases of
malaria are getting worse and more serious especially in the African countries. Almost 40% of the
world s population could be affected by the disease. Malaria could cause over 1 million deaths each
year and could result to enormous damages to human and social being (Gething et al., 2014). Most of
the international organizations concerning human health have been working on provisions for early
the diagnosis and treatment of the disease as well as selective measures such as vector control.
Definition
Malaria is an infectious disease caused by parasitic protozoans which belong to the plasmodium type.
It is commonly transmitted by female Anopheles mosquito. The mosquito bite transfers the bacteria
into the bloodstream. The parasite migrates to the liver and reproduce. (Slutsker Kachur, 2013).
Brief History The cases of malaria could be recognized from the writings of ancient civilization. There
are ancient Chinese writings which described the symptoms of malaria (Gething et al., 2014).
However, its mechanism is not known until the discovery of the malaria parasite. The parasite was
discovered by Charles Louis Alphonse Laveran who is a French surgeon. He noticed the parasites in
the blood of the patient diagnosed with malaria. He was awarded Nobel Prize for his discovery. In
addition, the widely used antimalarial drug that is used in the modern times is discovered during the

U.s. Japanese Government Policies Essay
Introduction The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of a set of the recent
Japanese government policies. Before China overtaking the second largest economy in the world in
2011, Japan has kept the position for several decades. However, after the housing bubbles burst in
1990s, Japan had economically struggled where it can no longer grow at such a substantial rate as
previously. In fact, its economy had shrunk when other neigbouring economies, such as Taiwan and
South Korea, had prospered. So Abe Shinzo was elected as the prime minister of Japan and he has
tried to revive the economy under Abenomics; yet, its impacts on the real economy seem ineffective
until recently. This is why I think it will be interesting to evaluate whether Abenomics was the best
option for Japanese government for reviving the economy from the prolonged recession. Was
Abenomics effective? Research questions are as follows: A) Were the uses of monetary and fiscal
policies effective during recession in Japan? B) Will the structural reforms be effective solution for
Japanese economy? I will examine the effectiveness of Abenomics by looking at the historical
economic data in Japan from 1980 to 2015. In addition, I will introduce some of literatures and
relevant books to support my view on Abenomics. Literature review Japan s lost decade Hayashi and
Prescott (2002) conducted a study on Japan s lost decade to provide a new interpretation based on

The Putney Debates of 1647
Arguments proposed by the Grandees in the simulated debate included justifications and further
defense of the original Grandees arguments. The chief topics to focus on include the importance of
immovable property and vested interests, the threat of anarchy from universal incorporation, and the
essential definition of tacit consent. All aspects of these arguments set out to make the demands of the
Levellers appear unobtainable at the time. When analyzing each topic, the drastic difference of the
Levellers and Grandees are discovered, along with certain similarities that make both sides appear not
so different in ideology. Most importantly, each argument was essential to democracy then, as they are
in today s modern society. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The type of consent expressed by an individual did not matter in relevance to their level or
authorization of participation. The main ideal behind tacit consent for the Grandees involved enjoying
the laws that govern the land and protecting citizens from outside influence. These points
automatically made one subjective to the decree of the government, which in this sense required one
to have immovable property in order to have a vote. Along with the idea of tacit consent, the Grandees
highlighted the difference between birthrights and natural rights with the latter not including the right
to vote. For the Levellers, the benefits of birthrights appeared to sufficiently warrant their ability to
take part in voting, but simply being born in England no longer meant allowed for their selection of
leaders and officials. In relation to democracy, the type of consent present in a government should be
expressed, but when the components of a recent civil war and the possibility of another are present
certain types of consent can only be allowed. Furthermore, the Grandees have effectively identified
which measures and precautions to take in order to prevent future conflict in England, which included
ignoring the expressed consent of the citizens. Along with identifying the consent of the populace, the
Grandees accepted the service of the Levellers in the civil war as consenting to government and being
subjective to its

Essay on The Media Effects American Culture
The media is the means of communication, as radio and television, newspapers, and magazines that
reach or influence people widely. The growth of the media has spread vastly over the years. The media
is also known as a channel of mass communication. Mass Media incorporates all those mediums
through which information is distributed to the masses. These include advertisements, magazines,
newspapers, radio, television, and the Internet (Sebastian). The media introduces many new things to
the public, both positive and negative. The media harms the American culture by creating these

People become consumed in this fame and money way of living that they will do whatever it takes to
be just like the rich (Coleman). The media puts the reality into things with a twist of any kind of story,
quote, or anything that appeals to the public. This showed Americans that the media can negatively
affect anyone s life forever.
The glorification of violence, drug abuse and other unhealthy habits has a major role in the outburst of
unfortunate incidents where children have gotten extremely violent and out of control. Be it the
advertisements touting products that promise a fairer skin or bods to die for or the television shows
and films, which portray violence, sexually explicit content and abusive language. There are music
videos and rock bands that give out the message that alcohol; drugs and sex are an inevitable part of
life. These ideals created by the media might not be necessarily appropriate (Manohar). There is this
media frenzy going on in America that not only teens are being affected, but also adults. There are
misleading commercials or articles in the newspaper that lead people to believe things that are not
true. Tabloids, television, and the internet will do anything to attract attention and for people to buy
whatever they are selling.
One the other hand, the media is a positive influence on the American culture as well. The media

Antoinette s Identity In Wide Sargasso Sea By Jean Rhys
In the novel Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys, Antoinette Mason s identity is frequently discussed.
Antoinette, the daughter of ex slave owners and a woman whose life is dictated by mental illness,
grows up in the Caribbean as a Creole during the nineteenth century. As a young adult, she is forced
into a marriage with a white man from England, an event that ultimately leads Antoinette to her
downfall. At the start of the novel, Antoinette and the characters around her are optimistic about their
identity and future. As the plot progresses, Antoinette increasingly struggles to understand who she is
and what her future entails. Ultimately, Antoinette loses her identity and her purpose. Throughout the
text there are many reoccurring motifs. A motif ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Antoinette s husband takes her to England, he locks her up in the attic and leaves her without a
sense of self. Antoinette says that There is no looking glass here and I don t know what I am like
now.... Now they have taken everything away. What am I doing in this place and who am I? (107).
Without being able to see herself through a looking glass, Antoinette doesn t understand who she or
what her purpose is, which is very upsetting for her. This loss of self identity causes Antoinette to act
out and worsens her mental health issues. When Antoinette sneaks out of the attic and sees herself in
the looking glass, she says she sees the ghost, the man with the streaming hair (???). After being
locked away, she is unable to recognize her own physical appearance. Through this description, Rhys
is showing that Antoinette s identity has been completely taken away from her and recognizing the
importance of knowing who we are. As, without an identity, Antoinette no longer has a purpose for

Persuasive Essay On Black Footed Ferrets
Black footed ferrets are finally making a comeback! Almost thirty years, organizations have been
helping the black footed ferrets regain status. You will be learning about the amazing black footed
ferrets, the objectives of the Endangered Species Act, strategies to help the ferrets, threats of the
ferrets, who is helping them, and how they are helping the ferrets.
There are approximately 750 wild ferrets and roughly 350 in captivity around North America. They
have a long tan body with black legs and feet; they also have a black head with a little bit of black on
the back of their bodies. The black footed ferrets rely on prairie dogs and their colonies to provide
shelter and food. These animals live mostly in a grassland habitat. A grassland habitat is basically an
open prairie with minimal rainfall. Black footed ferrets are part of the weasel family. There used to be
tens of thousands of black footed ferrets but by the 1960s they became almost extinct. Most frequent
meals for a ferret are prairie dogs. They will also dine on rodents, different types of squirrels, birds,
and rabbits. They once lived throughout the United States (U.S.), Canada, and Mexico. Now the new
population has been introduced to 8 U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico.
Most of a ferret s life is spent underground. 90% of the time they are underground eating, sleeping, or
raising their young. They are also nocturnal which means that they only go out of their homes at night.

Blood Pressure Lab Report
The purpose of this experiment is to test how how different water temperatures affect blood pressure.
The first step of the experiment s procedure was to create a baseline. We did this by taking the normal
blood pressure of the subject. We then submerged the subject s feet in three different water
temperatures; cold. room temperature, and warm. The experiment showed that cold water increases
blood pressure while warm water and room temperature water causes blood pressure to decrease. In
conclusion water temperature does have an effect on blood pressure.
Background:
Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood on the artery s walls. Blood pressure readings are
written by putting a person s systolic pressure over diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure is the pressure
in the blood vessels when the heart is beating. Diastolic blood pressure is the pressure in blood vessels
when the heart is resting between beats. It is measured in the unit of millimeters of mercury or mmHg.
The normal blood pressure for an adult should average at about 120/80 mmHg. Anything
grammatically higher than that number is considered high blood pressure and anything below is low
blood pressure. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cuff is wrapped around a person s arm and is inflated. The cuff applies pressure on the brachial
artery and cuts off circulation to the arm as it inflates. The systolic pressure is measured once blood
begins to flow into the arm again.
Hypothesis:
When feet are submerged in cold water they will cause blood pressure to rise and when feet are in
warm and room temperature water blood pressure will stay at normal levels.

On The Grey Tree Mondrian
Mondrian was born in 1872, and died in 1944. Throughout his career, he made sure to create many
geometric artworks. He came from a neat, Calvinist country where the severe landscape of
interlocking canals and ruler straight roads often looked mechanically laid out (145). He was a painter
and used oil on canvas to create his artworks. In 1892, he had a degree in education and could Teach
drawing in secondary schools (Early life and works).
This painting was created in 1912, and was called The Grey Tree. If he was alive right now, and had
the same technology that is common in 2016, I don t think he would have changed how he made his
artwork. He may have had a different way to get to the end product, but in the end it would probably

If Mondrian was alive today, this painting may be a little different. This is because it looks nothing
like what he named it, so maybe he would have biased it off a different picture to get more of an ocean
feel to the painting. The painting was painted with oil paints on a canvas.
This painting was created in 1912, and it was named The Flowering Apple Tree. In this painting, he
probably used what he thought an apple tree that was flowering looked like if created geometrically.
He probably would not have changed this painting if he was alive today, even though it doesn t look
like an apple tree. However, there is a possibility that he would have found a way to make it look more
like an apple tree rather than what it looks like.
This painting was created in 1944, the year that Piet Mondrian died. It was called the Victory Boogie
Woogie. In this painting, it was likely something he imagined and wanted to make it visible to
everyone. Because that is how he thought of this painting, he wouldn t have changed what it looked
like today. Unless there was something else that gave him the inspiration, because then it could look
like something totally different. However, it depends on how he got the inspiration, or if there was

Fairy Tale By The Grimm Brothers
Rapunzel is a well known fairy tale, originally created by the Grimm Brothers, that has changed very
much throughout the years. Starting out as a story of a girl locked in a tower, it has evolved into
countless versions. The most common adaption of the Grimm Brothers story is the disney movie
Tangled. This movie debuted in 2010 and was a hit. Overall, the Grimm Brothers story has become
iconic for it s history and also its adaptations. The story Rapunzel was published in 1812 for the first
time ever by The Grimm Brothers, in Germany. During this time period, the mindset of the German
people was different than what it is today. The people of Germany believed in magic, whereas today
they know that it is not real. The reason that most of these Grimm Brother s stories are based on
magic, including Rapunzel, is because of this. Also at this time in Germany, most of the people were
commoners, middle class or even poor. That is why these stories are set in common time and involve
common people, for the most part. In Rapunzel, she is born into a poor family and is a commoner
herself. The Grimm Brothers themselves have a very interesting history. Although most people believe
that the Grimm Brothers are responsible for writing their fairytales, they are not. These fairy tales
were written long before the brothers were born, however they collected all the stories and binded
them together in one book. The Grimm Brothers went around asking friends and family for fairy tales
that they

History of Wicca religion Essay
The Wiccan religion is one of the fastest growing religions in the United States as well one of the most
misunderstood due to the controversies surrounding its history and mystery shrouding its beliefs and
doctrines. Due to a series of popular TV series that have shown Witchcraft in a positive light, such as
Sabrina, the Teen aged Witch and Charmed, the popularity of Wicca has grown, especially amongst
teenagers; but sadly this popularity has not been partnered with a growth in understanding and respect
(Kaminer). Although Wicca offers a nature oriented, egalitarian belief system with a rich collection of
customs and rituals, ignorance and historically rooted misconceptions still dominate public opinion.
The controversies that surround ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many who are Wiccan today that do not believe that the origin of their religion is in
Witchcraft; while others believe that these religious practices are part of the foundation of Wicca.
Because paganism was not an organized religion and was primarily passed on through oral traditions,
there is questionable historical evidence to support a direct connection between the two.
The development of Wicca in the modern times is associated with a gentleman named Gerald Gardner
(1884 1964). He was a British civil servant and amateur archaeologist, who spent most of his working
years in Southern Asia. Upon his return to England, he authored the book Witchcraft Today, which
outlined many of the rituals and doctrines of the religion that is now called Wicca. Although Gardner
claimed his book was inspired from Celtic traditions, it is actually a combination of Western faith,
Asian magic, god and goddess worship, and Masonic rituals (Melton). The religion Gardner outlined
in his book is a nature oriented faith where a low emphasis on magic predominates. While there is a
tendency to see Wicca and Witchcraft as one and the same and some Wiccans may identify themselves
as witches, it is a personal choice and many modern Wiccans do not see themselves as witches.
Witchcraft describes a magically oriented practice but lacks the spiritual foundation that Wicca as a
religion embodies. Today=s modern Wiccan religion is not the religion that Christians tried to

Memories are what make us and without them we would not be able to manage. The image of that

It is also clever that he uses the title of the poem as the 1st line in stanza 1. Language is figurative and
the reader is left in no doubt what the poet is saying as the words seem to dance along fluttering,
twinkle, tossing glee and bliss . You have the use of personification where daffodils are personified as
a crowd of people, also as dancers and this continues throughout the poem. Where he mentions never
ending this is an exaggeration as his eyes could only see a certain distance away. The use a metaphor
is how he describes the memories he has when he mentions inward eye . Alliteration is also used for
example, sparkling and sprightly as well as beneath and besides . Use of O er instead of Over is called
Archiac i.e it is abbreviated. This was used a lot by Romantic poets to give it an oldern Romantic

Establishing Special Economic Zones
Inspired by the success of the Silicon Valley, numerous states began to establish special economic
zones, or scientific parks in pursue of economic growth in a region and diversification of the
innovation potential. Considered to be a tool for attraction the small companies with high innovative
orientation, such parks have become an international phenomenon. The variety of patterns of existing
parks can be explained by the difference in social economic formation of specific countries, their
history, cultural legacy and mentality. Having come through difficult economic reforms of 80s 90s,
Russia found itself in a situation of strong crude materials dependence and relative inability to
compete successfully on the international and domestic markets. Recent trend in IT and innovation
technologies suggested the need for the country to catch up with those who in the lead. Skolkovo is an
example of how Russian officials adopt best foreign practices for domestic market in order to
eliminate the problem of long term lagging. However, Skolkovo, despite being protected by the
government, is deemed to have a lot of problem inherited from Russian mentality and business ethics.
The need for finding the solution of long standing problems justifies the purpose of this paper. Purpose
of the paper is to investigate nature of science parks, in particular Skolkovo Project. We hypothesize
that the model of Skolkovo s development can be successful in the current Russian economic
environment.

Margaret Mead Warfare
In Margaret Mead s Warfare: An Invention Not a Biological Necessity we see her ideas surrounding
the relationship between biological and cultural influences on an aspect of life and society. Mead s
ideas play off of some of the thoughts mentioned in Ruth Benedict s The Individual and the Pattern of
Culture . Benedict mentions how there ...is always a give and take, (114) that is between culture and
the individual. Which can be related to Mead s mention of how war or fighting is dependant on a
culture s need for that kind of outlet. Because Mead was a student of Benedict s when she was a
professor at Columbia University(112) it becomes evident how some of the similarities in their ideas
had developed.
Although Mead s essay is quite specific to the concept of warfare, it is possible to dissect the essay
and find the underlying ideas she has regarding culture. Mead states that A people can use only the
forms it has, (503) meaning that a group or individual only uses the ideas or ways of life that have

Why Use Bloom Taxonomy In Lesson Planning
Bloom Taxonomy in Lesson Planning
Introduction
Bloom Taxonomy is a useful planning tool for teachers. It contains of six cognitive domains, which
are known from the year of 1956 as knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and
evaluation. However, the bloom taxonomy was later revised in 2001 to remember, understand, apply,
analyze, evaluate, and create (Ugur, Constantinescu, Stevens, 2015). Using Bloom Taxonomy in
lesson planning will help teachers to develop lesson objectives based on students level of proficiency.
Why Use Bloom Taxonomy in Lesson Planning? Bloom Taxonomy was established to meet the needs
of students based on the learning outcome expectation or curriculum aims. It has been said, Bloom
taxonomy helps teachers to formulate lessons that practice and develop thinking skills over a wide
range of cognitive complexity (Hess, Jones, Carlock, Walkup, 2009, p. 1). The six cognitive domains
of bloom taxonomy helps teacher to develop lesson objectives, because it explains the process of
learning. According to Shabatura (2013), Before you can understand a concept, you must remember it.
To apply a concept you must first understand it. In order to evaluate a process, you must analyze it. To
create a conclusion, you must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without Bloom taxonomy in lesson planning, the teacher will only rely on one domain rather it is
remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, or creating. If that happens, students
will never expand their level of thinking skills throughout their entire school life. So, it is important to
utilize bloom taxonomy in lesson planning. However, Bloom taxonomy can also raise the teacher s
expectation of students based on their level of proficiency. This is where teachers began to use more
advance questions to assess students understanding of a

Gram Positive And Gram-Positive Bacteria
Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria can be distinguished by conducting biochemical tests. Its
growth can be examined on selected mediums containing metabolic inhibitors such as antibiotics. The
medias utilized in this project are: media containing the antibiotic vancomycin, Eosin Methylene Blue
lactose (EMB lactose) agar, and Phenylethyl alcohol (PEA) agar (Holbrook and Leicht 2017).
Vancomycin is most effective at inhibiting the growth of Gram positive cocci (Rotschafer et al. 2005).
EMB lactose agar inhibits the growth of many Gram positive bacteria and the lactose component of
the medium allows for lactose fermenting bacteria to cause color changes within the medium
(Reynolds 2011). The presence of lactose fermenters in the EMB lactose agar will cause a color
change in the resulting colonies based on the strength of their acidity. A metallic green colony
indicates that that active fermenters are present. A pink colony indicates that weak fermenters are
present. If a bacterial species does not ferment lactose, it will appear white or colorless (Holbrook and
Leicht 2017). PEA agar is a selective medium that inhibits the growth of most Gram negative bacteria
species. It does so by interrupting the lipids within the Gram negative cell membrane, which will
affect its permeability to certain molecules. This could result in the intake of materials that are
supposed to be blocked and the release of potassium from within the cell, which is necessary for DNA
synthesis (Lal and

The Effects Of Music On Children On Music And...
The brain is a complex organism that is stuffed in our skull to help up to move, think, learn, live. As
the brain progresses through the stages of development, one of the things that really helps to have it
develop right is music. Have you ever noticed how expecting mothers listen to music during
pregnancy. This has many benefits, for one it helps the child bond with the mother, knowing her type
of music and getting to know what she likes and her strengths and weaknesses. This makes for a
stronger bond with the mother. It also helps with the development of the child, finding joy in music
and understanding the awesome power of it. As we get older we start to really like whatever type of
music we like but when we go back to that music that we heard while still not even born we get a
warm fuzzy feeling that only comes from your mom listening to music while she was pregnant with
you. As we grow up and move to middle school our brains start to have a different thing that happens
and the rest of our body starts to change and we start to gravitate toward being our own person and
like our own music. Music is a huge part of our lives and helps us through our development stages.
Our brains are not done fully developing till we are 25 and the only way that we get through all of that
is by listening to music and really giving ourselves the best chance to have our brains develop right. I
m not saying that by not listening to music our brains can t develop, I m just saying that

Wu Cheng s The Journey To The West
Chapter one of Wu Cheng en s classical story, The Journey to the West, introduces the main character,
Monkey, by providing background information about his origin and early life. Monkey lived equally
along with gibbons and baboons who he considered his kin until he was appointed to king of the
Blessed Land of Flower Fruit Mountain. This transition from an unstructured, free will society to an
orderly kingdom portrays the social changes humans experienced when dynasties arose in civilization.
After Monkey gained the title of king, certain changes occurred. Immediately after he claimed the
position, his peers lined up according to rank and age , praising Monkey by chanting, long live our
great king (Cheng en, 177). The recently equal group ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prior to Monkey becoming king, a poem in the beginning of the chapter claims they played two games
or three with pebbles and with pellets; they circled sandy pits, they built rare pagodas, they chased
dragonflies.... which are activities that allowed the population to live in a carefree, playful
environment (Cheng en, 174). After Monkey became king, their activities depended on the season,
which another poem portrays; In the spring they gathered flowers for food and drink. In the summer
they went in quest of fruits for sustenance. In the autumn they amassed taros and chestnuts to ward off
time. In the winter they searched for yellow sperms to live out the year (Cheng en, 178). The newly
civilized, ruled monkeys no longer roamed aimlessly playing with one another, but had jobs that
would ensure their survival. This societal change is also reflected in the late Ming dynasties idea of
radical individualism. In this time, the text argues that personal freedom had been celebrated at the
expense of social responsibility (World Literature, 169). The monkeys now had responsibilities to
attend to, likely with the king s instruction, when before they were liable for little

Molarity Lab Report
The concept investigated in this lab was the relationship between absorbance and concentration, or
molarity. This relates to the guiding question, How could you make 1 liter of Pirate Purple #2 dye? ,
because in order to create more dye, you must obtain an equation from the graph to calculate the
amount, in grams, of blue and red dye that must be mixed to create the certain shade of purple. The
molarity of a substance is the amount of moles per one liter of liquid that it contains. A solution is a
mixture that contains two or more substances. A solute is one substance that is dissolved in another
substance, while a solvent is the matter that the solute is dissolved in. When plotted on a graph,

A Brief Note On The Context ( Iad )
Biophysical Context (IAD)
a) Natural Infrastructure
There is specifically no natural element involved in an EV industry. Except for the fact that we are
trying to conserve natural fossil fuels and reduce the problems of exhaust emissions from internal
combustion engines by encouraging EVs as mode of transportation. EVs are man made solution to the
depletion of natural resources and climate change.
b) Human made infrastructure
To power an electric vehicle, consumers must have the ability to connect their vehicle to a source of
electricity, the utility must have the capacity to transmit and distribute this additional power and
sufficient electricity generation capacity must exist. The onus is on the government as well as the
private sector to meet these three conditions i.e. providing 1. Charging equipment 2. Distribution
capacity and 3. Electricity generation. The charging equipment is not very expensive and it would not
be difficult for households and commercial enterprises to install them. The adequacy of the generation
and distribution systems need to be upgraded and monitored and necessary investments need to be
made to keep up with the increasing demand from EVs. Finally, if there emerges the need for a rapid
electrification campaign, the utilities will be under pressure to build new facilities and the older coal
fired power plants will remain in use, ironically diluting the environmental benefits of EV adoption
strategy. Therefore, adequate expansion of infrastructure

Should 16 Year Olds Have The Right To Vote Essay
Casting a vote in an election is something many people including the young adults look forward to
because it is this one time that their opinion matters. In the article Takoma Park 16 year old savors his
history making moment at the polls by Annys Shin, she informed us about 350 16 and 17 year olds
who were granted the right to vote in municipal elections by the Takoma City Council. Those 350
individuals were the first ever 16 and 17 year olds to have the opportunity to cast their vote for a
political election, however there are many who believe that this specific age group shouldn t have the
right to take part in events such as these because they aren t old enough to make an educated decision.
Therefore, the voting age should remain the same of 18 years old, although it s a one to two year

Disadvantages Of Mantis Shrimp
To many owner having saltwater aquarium, live rock is one of the essential things which set the
natural tone for the whole tank besides fish and turtles. Not only does the collection of the colorful
live rocks beautifies one s tank but also provides shelters for the fish and filters the whole tank.
However, everything has a good side and the bad one. The addition of live rocks to the tank may have
some potential drawbacks, for not every organism living on those marine rocks is important, and even
some of them are disadvantageous to the tank itself. One exemplary unwanted organism which lives
on live rocks is the Mantis Shrimp, which maybe accidentally introduced to the tank through the
addition of live rocks. Mantis shrimp, which is a varicolored creature living in the Indian and Pacific
Oceans, is an extraordinary pet, for not only does it colorful body impresses the people but also its
powerful appendages, which are a nightmare to crabs, gastropods, and almost all other animals in the
sea. Due to its interesting feature, many people at the present favor this species. In addition, some
people even want to adopt the mantis shrimps as their pets; nevertheless, there are many hardships
coming along with this desire. As a growing infant who can mess up with everything within his or her
reach, the mantis shrimp can eat up its neighboring organisms and some marine plants in the tank. The
mantis shrimp is well known by many scientists for its powerful weapon the raptorial appendages
which is equipped for the sake of its survival. It is this feature of the shrimp that makes it a strong
hunter in the nature. Due to this feature, especially the one owned by the Smasher species of the
Mantis Shrimp, the shrimp has no trouble breaking preys with tough shells such as crabs and snails. In
addition to the raptorial appendages, the mantis shrimp can swim insanely fast, thereby boiling water
around it. While one may be surprised by these qualities, other organisms living around it. Because of
its powerful weapon, hunting nature, and the ability to boil through the act of swimming, the mantis
shrimp may be capable of eating every fish in the tank and killing them by increasing the temperature

Analysis Of The Book I m Going At The Beach
Introduction 45 to 60 seconds
Audio
Amy loves to read historical fiction novels. She has collected many of these novels over the years.
One day she hopes to write her own fiction novels. For now, she enjoys writing short fiction as a way
to practice her writing skills.
When Amy writes her fictional short stories she makes sure to include a good plot structure and
exciting characters.
The most fun part for Amy is figuring out what type of conflict she will create for her characters.
She also enjoys demonstrating through her writing how unique her characters are. She does this by
allowing them to speak in dialects specific to their birth place.
For example, in one of her stories, the main character is from New Jersey. So, each time the character
refers to the beach, she says down the shore.
Saying I m going down the shore , instead I m going to the beach, is common among those born in
New Jersey.
Even though her characters do not speak formal English, Amy writes all of her short fiction in formal
academic English.
Build on Introduction 25 to 35 seconds
Ben picked up one of Amy s short stories about residents working together in order to establish a
small town in Florida.
Because these residents were originally from the Caribbean islands, their dialect varied away from
formal academic English.
When quoting from these characters, Amy represents their dialect accurately. As a result, her final
work of fiction is a mixture of formal and informal

A Report On The Sub Machine Gun
Introduction:
From the incident, it can be reasonably suggested that the weapon must be small and concealable with
a quick fire rate in order to eliminate two targets at once. The perforating wounds, wounds with entry
and exit wounds, also suggest a high velocity firearm although the metal fragments in the wound from
Victim 2 imply the bullet can be easily fragmented. The Heckler and Koch MP7 sub machine gun with
4.6 x 30mm frangible SX ammunition coincides with this evidence, especially with the accompanying
accessories; a HK MP7 Silencer and Brasscatcher, which further benefits the shooter by creating
minimal disturbance and leaving negligible ballistic evidence behind.

Once firing began the shooter loses the sightline and accuracy to the target therefore the bullets begin
to spread out due to the recoil and the constant discharge of bullets. However due to the second victim
only having two wounds the gun must be able to operate in single shot as well as in an automatic
mode a sub machine gun. The weapon must be small and concealable as the firer had to travel to an
alleyway unnoticed; the HK MP7 has a length of 340mm with the stock closed (Maxim Popenker,
1999 2015), however adding the HK MP7 Silencer which is needed to reduce the noise from firing in
order to remain undetected in a potentially public area, the length increases by a further 222mm
(Airsoft 2015) making the overall weapon length over 700mm when firing. Due to this greater length
this makes the firearm much more difficult to hide which increases the chance considerably for the
target to react and disarm the shooter or escape.
The HK MP7 has a mass of 1.7kg with a 20 round magazine (Maxim Popenker, 1999 2015) hence a
suitable choice as it is easily manoeuvrable (being fairly light) which makes it simple to handle and
operate for all users. Although, due to the addition of the silencer and the brass catcher, the mass
increases to over 2.5kg thus becoming more awkward to carry and to hide discreetly, especially if the
shooter was a more petite build.
The HK MP7 can be used by the most novice of shooters with its

Pierre Elliot Trudeau
As one of the Canada s greatest leaders, Pierre Elliot Trudeau brought change that would change
Canada forever in a positive manner. Although it can be argued that Trudeau s behavior was
outlandish and informal at times, it could be considered charismatic, however, his behavior to politics
was superior. He was inspired to change Canada and make it a better place to live. He did so by
implying the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, multiculturalism, and using laws to make Canada a
better place. Pierre Elliot Trudeau s actions changed Canada for the better. On April 17th, 1982, when

Trudeau was the first to imply Multiculturalism in Canada. By implying it, it allowed Canada to be a
much more diverse and equal place. It also promotes respect for peoples distinct cultural identity.
Implying multiculturalism to Canada was one of Trudeau s greatest accomplishments. Pierre Trudeau
was a leader who not only brought change by bringing new laws to Canada, but he changed the way
people viewed other laws. Trudeau listened to the majority, but also protected the rights of the
minority which demonstrates he is a strong leader. He once said Canada will be a strong country when
Canadians of all provinces feel at home in all parts of the country, and when they feel that all Canada
belongs to them. (CBC Archives) Trudeau has always strived for greatness and has been successful in
many cases. As in the FLQ crisis, Trudeau declared a brief period of Martial Law using the War
Measures Act (WMA). By doing this, he completely changed the view of the WMA. It had been
assumed that the WMA would be used in times of crisis, such as famines, depressions, pandemics and
other serious situations that are serious to Canada s well being. However, Trudeau demonstrated how

Edgar Allan Poe Symbolism
Poetry Analysis Essay: Alone by Edgar Allan Poe
Alone; Alone is one word that perfectly describes Edgar Allan Poe s devastating life of sorrow; a
never ending depression. This poem is the basic rundown of how loneliness played an important factor
in the life of Poe stating how he was never like the others and how with even joy and happiness,
despair affected him. The poem, Alone by Edgar Allan Poe, has an abundant usage of symbolism and
a unique way of using tone to create the poem that brings his true meaning of a man s life who has
been living in isolation and melancholy.
One poetic element used in this poem is symbolism. Symbolism is used in Alone as a way for Poe to
express his true feelings by using words to create an image or representation of the way he wants his
readers to interpret the poem; using symbolism will generate a time period of Poe s life. The reason
behind this is, because the words chosen, symbolize the ongoing idea of loneliness in the poem. For
example, Poe writes, (When the rest of Heaven was blue) Of a demon in my view (Poe 21 22). This is
the representation of how around Poe, there was happiness around him but all Poe saw was great
despair from within due to the great loneliness. Another line in Alone by Poe is, From the thunder and

Stop Body Dissatisfaction Is Not A New Discovery
Stop Body Dissatisfaction Body dissatisfaction is not a new discovery. Yet, nothing is done to
counteract the emotional damages done to people, Approximately 91% of women are unhappy with
their bodies and resort to dieting to achieve their ideal body shape. Unfortunately, only 5% of women
naturally possess the body type often portrayed by Americans in the media (11 Facts 1). The media
will continue to keep the same body style in their magazines and movie. This poses a very important
problem, how can people who deal with kids teach them that appearances are not as important as what
is in their brains? Educators and parents need to know how to help kids cope with their emotional
issues and teach them what is really important. Parents should teach kids strong morals and help them
avoid overexposure to the media while educators should teach kids how to live a healthy lifestyle. The
best way to solve a problem is to know exactly what the issue is. So what is body image? Body image
is, How individuals feel about their physical appearances (Brown University 1). Body image can be
affected by more than one media outlet. These outlets include the traditional media like magazines and
TV shows. However, new outlets have been introduced like social media, this media can be so
damaging because it is easily accessible to all types of people from ranging ages.
This issues is not just a call for attention, body image can cause individuals to suffer from emotional

My Experience In High School
Before graduating elementary and jumping into middle school my homeroom adviser always advises
us to try and enter the school program in this particular high school. The thing is to enter the program
you need to take an entrance exam and get at least 85% on it. The first week of May 2012 my mom
and I went to my elementary school to collect my transcripts that I needed to enroll for grade 7. At that
moment and for the last time I saw my grade 6 teachers. Upon getting my transcripts I can hear my
grade six teachers asking my mom if I will take the entrance exam.
Two weeks later after getting my transcripts, my mother and I went to the high school. The school was
crowded, it was very foreign to me, as I viewed it as I am a small shack in a city full of skyscrapers.
Before enrolling, we talked about trying to take the entrance exam for the program the high school
offers, I agreed. There is no harm in trying anyway, so I will try to give my best just to pass that exam.
Then the day of the entrance exam came. I expected that you can seat wherever you want during the
exam but to my dismay that wasn t the case. The spectators arrange us alphabetically, so being my last
name starts with an A, I was always the first one or if I am lucky the second one to be called. The
spectators were calling our last names one by one, boys were the first one to be called. After all the
boys were called, I got nervous as it is the girls turn to be called. I was called third, and I was placed
in the room where the boys are taking the exam. Along with the two girls that I don t know and who is
sitting in the far front.
During the duration of the exam, I can hear paper shuffling repeatedly. I looked at where the noise was
coming from and lucky enough it was the guy who is sitting beside me. I thought that I can just say a
few words and tell him to stop flipping his paper but I failed, as on the other hand, he thought I am
going to engage in a conversation with him. He began asking me what school I came from, why am I
so pale and that s even questionable because I m not pale, etc. At first, I ignored him hoping that he
will stop talking, he didn t.
Results came, I was very glad that I passed the exam at the same time nervous and I don t

  • 2. The Silkwood Movie Essay Summary The Silkwood Movie is about a nuclear facility, and the lives of three people who worked there. This movie is based off a true story, about the conditions and safety concerns for the nuclear plants, back when the research was still lacking. The main problems in the movie, is when it came to the health of the workers from the chemicals let off from the nuclear plant. The three main characters are: Karen Silkwood (the main character), Drew Stevens (the boyfriend), and Dolly Pelliker (the roommate). All of these characters worked in the nuclear plant and were exposed to the plants poor safety conditions. Being exposed to the plutonium caused the main character Karen Silkwood, to raise awareness of the health concerns to the workers, from the exposure of plutonium. In an article by, Live Science, plutonium is explained as a radioactive silver metal, that is a byproduct of the nuclear power industry ( sjkdfkljshd). Plutonium has also been linked to causing cancer in people who were exposed to high levels of the chemical. Karen s main focus was to get the Union on her side, because many of the workers already knew the health risks and decided to ignore them. Most of the workers did care about their health, however; they needed the job from working at the nuclear facility. Later Karen was exposed to high levels of plutonium, but the causes of her death were unknown. How the movie pertains to class In Safety Education there are many safety concerns and conditions ... • 3. Faith In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown Young Goodman Brown story was very interesting as it talked about God and Brown s faith. When he went out in the forest in Salem Village, I believed everything that happened was something conjured by evil but Brown put himself in that situation. That morning, his wife Faith asked him for a hug and kiss, and tried to convince her husband Brown, not to go into the forest at night. She whispered in his ear, Put off your journey until sunrise, and sleep in your own bed tonight, (Brown 386). Faith was a Godly woman who always prayed for her and her husband. She too had troubled dreams and thoughts. She was afraid of herself sometimes, especially of her thoughts. Brown never knew about her doubtful thoughts. Brown didn t understand with it being ... She was all in doubt, questioning her own faith, but just always tried/ wanted to stay strong for Brown. Once Brown started seeing everybody else crossover including his wife Faith, he too begin to doubt his own faith, and belief in God. Brown started to feel himself get weak, so he lifts his hands to pray. When he started praying, a dark black cloud shifted northward and came along some confused doubtful voices. A lot of voices was clouding Brown s mind but he stayed strong, and firm. He didn t let nothing, or nobody get to him. He was very hurt by the fact of seeing his wife crossing over to the devil side. Brown got back home and saw his wife sitting there with the same pink ribbons in her head. He then too began to think that he was dreaming or if it was a true story or not. As I stated at the beginning of my essay, everything that had happened was something convinced by evil. The evil Travelers were trying to convince others to be of the Devil and not God. Now he wonders why his neither Grandfather nor Father took that dark gloomy path, and was always in the house before midnight. He also sees why his wife didn t want him to go on that evil journey. Brown doesn t know what to believe, he doesn t know if his wife crossed over to be with the devil or not. His mind is playing tricks on him. Since Brown is having those thoughts, he ... • 4. My Major Relating to Gaming Essay Choosing a major for the under graduate studies is an elementary task for all the students who are done with their High school and when it was my turn to decide, I knew that I wanted to take up a major which was related to gaming. However, convincing my parents to let me choose a not so traditional major was next to impossible. Instead, they convinced me to take up Information Technology as my major. As the saying goes, parents are always right, I now have the foundation required for Game Engineering and I wish to introduce myself as Anirudh Vemuri, a prospective student aspiring to pursue my Masters in the United States, the forefront in Game Development. I was lucky enough to get into SLC s Institute of Engineering and Technology, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My other project titled The Game Master was a website designed on C# .Net and SQL Server, gave me an insight on how E commerce functions with the gaming industry. After graduating, I started working at Amazon development centre as a Digital specialist which increased my exposure to the latest games and the next generation consoles in the industry. My lack of categorization of the tasks I perform sometimes make me pedantic but I believe that it is good to give importance to every minute detail in the world of gaming. I do not come from a family of means but that did not stop me from achieving the goals I set for myself. I plan to put in a great deal of effort for my graduate studies in Game Engineering as I have been waiting for this opportunity for more than five years and there is no better place to pursue my masters than University of Utah, the place where student projects turn out to be innovative and beautiful Indie games like Erie which scared a lot of people and received many awards. Not to mention the amalgamation of state of the art facilities in the Master Games Studio and the scholarly faculty which include professors like Roger Alan Altizer who made some prominent publications on gaming and served as an adviser/executive producer for many student projects. In the mere future, I see myself contributing to the advancements in the gaming Industry and reaching my goal of making Games as big of a deal in my country as much ... • 5. Malaria Is An Infectious Disease Background Malaria is considered as one of the deadliest diseases around the world. The cases of malaria are getting worse and more serious especially in the African countries. Almost 40% of the world s population could be affected by the disease. Malaria could cause over 1 million deaths each year and could result to enormous damages to human and social being (Gething et al., 2014). Most of the international organizations concerning human health have been working on provisions for early the diagnosis and treatment of the disease as well as selective measures such as vector control. Definition Malaria is an infectious disease caused by parasitic protozoans which belong to the plasmodium type. It is commonly transmitted by female Anopheles mosquito. The mosquito bite transfers the bacteria into the bloodstream. The parasite migrates to the liver and reproduce. (Slutsker Kachur, 2013). Brief History The cases of malaria could be recognized from the writings of ancient civilization. There are ancient Chinese writings which described the symptoms of malaria (Gething et al., 2014). However, its mechanism is not known until the discovery of the malaria parasite. The parasite was discovered by Charles Louis Alphonse Laveran who is a French surgeon. He noticed the parasites in the blood of the patient diagnosed with malaria. He was awarded Nobel Prize for his discovery. In addition, the widely used antimalarial drug that is used in the modern times is discovered during the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. U.s. Japanese Government Policies Essay Introduction The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of a set of the recent Japanese government policies. Before China overtaking the second largest economy in the world in 2011, Japan has kept the position for several decades. However, after the housing bubbles burst in 1990s, Japan had economically struggled where it can no longer grow at such a substantial rate as previously. In fact, its economy had shrunk when other neigbouring economies, such as Taiwan and South Korea, had prospered. So Abe Shinzo was elected as the prime minister of Japan and he has tried to revive the economy under Abenomics; yet, its impacts on the real economy seem ineffective until recently. This is why I think it will be interesting to evaluate whether Abenomics was the best option for Japanese government for reviving the economy from the prolonged recession. Was Abenomics effective? Research questions are as follows: A) Were the uses of monetary and fiscal policies effective during recession in Japan? B) Will the structural reforms be effective solution for Japanese economy? I will examine the effectiveness of Abenomics by looking at the historical economic data in Japan from 1980 to 2015. In addition, I will introduce some of literatures and relevant books to support my view on Abenomics. Literature review Japan s lost decade Hayashi and Prescott (2002) conducted a study on Japan s lost decade to provide a new interpretation based on neoclassical growth model. ... The chief topics to focus on include the importance of immovable property and vested interests, the threat of anarchy from universal incorporation, and the essential definition of tacit consent. All aspects of these arguments set out to make the demands of the Levellers appear unobtainable at the time. When analyzing each topic, the drastic difference of the Levellers and Grandees are discovered, along with certain similarities that make both sides appear not so different in ideology. Most importantly, each argument was essential to democracy then, as they are in today s modern society. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The type of consent expressed by an individual did not matter in relevance to their level or authorization of participation. The main ideal behind tacit consent for the Grandees involved enjoying the laws that govern the land and protecting citizens from outside influence. These points automatically made one subjective to the decree of the government, which in this sense required one to have immovable property in order to have a vote. Along with the idea of tacit consent, the Grandees highlighted the difference between birthrights and natural rights with the latter not including the right to vote. For the Levellers, the benefits of birthrights appeared to sufficiently warrant their ability to take part in voting, but simply being born in England no longer meant allowed for their selection of leaders and officials. In relation to democracy, the type of consent present in a government should be expressed, but when the components of a recent civil war and the possibility of another are present certain types of consent can only be allowed. Furthermore, the Grandees have effectively identified which measures and precautions to take in order to prevent future conflict in England, which included ignoring the expressed consent of the citizens. Along with identifying the consent of the populace, the Grandees accepted the service of the Levellers in the civil war as consenting to government and being subjective to its ... • 11. Blood Pressure Lab Report The purpose of this experiment is to test how how different water temperatures affect blood pressure. The first step of the experiment s procedure was to create a baseline. We did this by taking the normal blood pressure of the subject. We then submerged the subject s feet in three different water temperatures; cold. room temperature, and warm. The experiment showed that cold water increases blood pressure while warm water and room temperature water causes blood pressure to decrease. In conclusion water temperature does have an effect on blood pressure. Background: Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood on the artery s walls. Blood pressure readings are written by putting a person s systolic pressure over diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure is the pressure in the blood vessels when the heart is beating. Diastolic blood pressure is the pressure in blood vessels when the heart is resting between beats. It is measured in the unit of millimeters of mercury or mmHg. He came from a neat, Calvinist country where the severe landscape of interlocking canals and ruler straight roads often looked mechanically laid out (145). He was a painter and used oil on canvas to create his artworks. In 1892, he had a degree in education and could Teach drawing in secondary schools (Early life and works). This painting was created in 1912, and was called The Grey Tree. In this painting, he probably used what he thought an apple tree that was flowering looked like if created geometrically. He probably would not have changed this painting if he was alive today, even though it doesn t look like an apple tree. However, there is a possibility that he would have found a way to make it look more like an apple tree rather than what it looks like. This painting was created in 1944, the year that Piet Mondrian died. It was called the Victory Boogie Woogie. In this painting, it was likely something he imagined and wanted to make it visible to everyone. Because that is how he thought of this painting, he wouldn t have changed what it looked like today. • 13. Fairy Tale By The Grimm Brothers Rapunzel is a well known fairy tale, originally created by the Grimm Brothers, that has changed very much throughout the years. Starting out as a story of a girl locked in a tower, it has evolved into countless versions. The most common adaption of the Grimm Brothers story is the disney movie Tangled. This movie debuted in 2010 and was a hit. Overall, the Grimm Brothers story has become iconic for it s history and also its adaptations. The story Rapunzel was published in 1812 for the first time ever by The Grimm Brothers, in Germany. During this time period, the mindset of the German people was different than what it is today. The people of Germany believed in magic, whereas today they know that it is not real. The reason that most of these Grimm Brother s stories are based on magic, including Rapunzel, is because of this. Also at this time in Germany, most of the people were commoners, middle class or even poor. That is why these stories are set in common time and involve common people, for the most part. In Rapunzel, she is born into a poor family and is a commoner herself. The Grimm Brothers themselves have a very interesting history. Although most people believe that the Grimm Brothers are responsible for writing their fairytales, they are not. These fairy tales were written long before the brothers were born, however they collected all the stories and binded them together in one book. The Grimm Brothers went around asking friends and family for fairy tales that they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

History of Wicca religion Essay The Wiccan religion is one of the fastest growing religions in the United States as well one of the most misunderstood due to the controversies surrounding its history and mystery shrouding its beliefs and doctrines. Due to a series of popular TV series that have shown Witchcraft in a positive light, such as Sabrina, the Teen aged Witch and Charmed, the popularity of Wicca has grown, especially amongst teenagers; but sadly this popularity has not been partnered with a growth in understanding and respect (Kaminer). The controversies that surround ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are many who are Wiccan today that do not believe that the origin of their religion is in Witchcraft; while others believe that these religious practices are part of the foundation of Wicca. Because paganism was not an organized religion and was primarily passed on through oral traditions, there is questionable historical evidence to support a direct connection between the two. The development of Wicca in the modern times is associated with a gentleman named Gerald Gardner (1884 1964). He was a British civil servant and amateur archaeologist, who spent most of his working years in Southern Asia. Upon his return to England, he authored the book Witchcraft Today, which outlined many of the rituals and doctrines of the religion that is now called Wicca. Although Gardner claimed his book was inspired from Celtic traditions, it is actually a combination of Western faith, Asian magic, god and goddess worship, and Masonic rituals (Melton). The religion Gardner outlined in his book is a nature oriented faith where a low emphasis on magic predominates. While there is a tendency to see Wicca and Witchcraft as one and the same and some Wiccans may identify themselves as witches, it is a personal choice and many modern Wiccans do not see themselves as witches. Witchcraft describes a magically oriented practice but lacks the spiritual foundation that Wicca as a religion embodies. Around the time he wrote this poem in 1804 ???? He is wandering alone up hill and down dales and comes across a vision so beautiful that it is imprinted in his mind forever. Memories are what make us and without them we would not be able to manage. The image of that memory, is what makes this poem so lovely that you feel at peace at the tranquil setting when you read it. It is also clever that he uses the title of the poem as the 1st line in stanza 1. Language is figurative and the reader is left in no doubt what the poet is saying as the words seem to dance along fluttering, twinkle, tossing glee and bliss . You have the use of personification where daffodils are personified as a crowd of people, also as dancers and this continues throughout the poem. Where he mentions never ending this is an exaggeration as his eyes could only see a certain distance away. The use a metaphor is how he describes the memories he has when he mentions inward eye . Alliteration is also used for example, sparkling and sprightly as well as beneath and besides . Use of O er instead of Over is called Archiac i.e it is abbreviated. This was used a lot by Romantic poets to give it an oldern Romantic quality and also fit in line with the meter The meter is regular and consistent and comes over as tidy and orderly. Bibolography. Establishing Special Economic Zones Inspired by the success of the Silicon Valley, numerous states began to establish special economic zones, or scientific parks in pursue of economic growth in a region and diversification of the innovation potential. Considered to be a tool for attraction the small companies with high innovative orientation, such parks have become an international phenomenon. The variety of patterns of existing parks can be explained by the difference in social economic formation of specific countries, their history, cultural legacy and mentality. Having come through difficult economic reforms of 80s 90s, Russia found itself in a situation of strong crude materials dependence and relative inability to compete successfully on the international and domestic markets. Recent trend in IT and innovation technologies suggested the need for the country to catch up with those who in the lead. Skolkovo is an example of how Russian officials adopt best foreign practices for domestic market in order to eliminate the problem of long term lagging. However, Skolkovo, despite being protected by the government, is deemed to have a lot of problem inherited from Russian mentality and business ethics. The need for finding the solution of long standing problems justifies the purpose of this paper. Purpose of the paper is to investigate nature of science parks, in particular Skolkovo Project. Because Mead was a student of Benedict s when she was a professor at Columbia University(112) it becomes evident how some of the similarities in their ideas had developed. Although Mead s essay is quite specific to the concept of warfare, it is possible to dissect the essay and find the underlying ideas she has regarding culture. • 18. Why Use Bloom Taxonomy In Lesson Planning Bloom Taxonomy in Lesson Planning Introduction Bloom Taxonomy is a useful planning tool for teachers. It contains of six cognitive domains, which are known from the year of 1956 as knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. However, the bloom taxonomy was later revised in 2001 to remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create (Ugur, Constantinescu, Stevens, 2015). Using Bloom Taxonomy in lesson planning will help teachers to develop lesson objectives based on students level of proficiency. Why Use Bloom Taxonomy in Lesson Planning? Bloom Taxonomy was established to meet the needs of students based on the learning outcome expectation or curriculum aims. It has been said, Bloom taxonomy helps teachers to formulate lessons that practice and develop thinking skills over a wide range of cognitive complexity (Hess, Jones, Carlock, Walkup, 2009, p. 1). The six cognitive domains of bloom taxonomy helps teacher to develop lesson objectives, because it explains the process of learning. According to Shabatura (2013), Before you can understand a concept, you must remember it. To apply a concept you must first understand it. In order to evaluate a process, you must analyze it. • 19. Gram Positive And Gram-Positive Bacteria Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria can be distinguished by conducting biochemical tests. Its growth can be examined on selected mediums containing metabolic inhibitors such as antibiotics. The medias utilized in this project are: media containing the antibiotic vancomycin, Eosin Methylene Blue lactose (EMB lactose) agar, and Phenylethyl alcohol (PEA) agar (Holbrook and Leicht 2017). Vancomycin is most effective at inhibiting the growth of Gram positive cocci (Rotschafer et al. 2005). EMB lactose agar inhibits the growth of many Gram positive bacteria and the lactose component of the medium allows for lactose fermenting bacteria to cause color changes within the medium (Reynolds 2011). The presence of lactose fermenters in the EMB lactose agar will cause a color change in the resulting colonies based on the strength of their acidity. A metallic green colony indicates that that active fermenters are present. A pink colony indicates that weak fermenters are present. If a bacterial species does not ferment lactose, it will appear white or colorless (Holbrook and Leicht 2017). PEA agar is a selective medium that inhibits the growth of most Gram negative bacteria species. It does so by interrupting the lipids within the Gram negative cell membrane, which will affect its permeability to certain molecules. This could result in the intake of materials that are supposed to be blocked and the release of potassium from within the cell, which is necessary for DNA synthesis (Lal and ... As the brain progresses through the stages of development, one of the things that really helps to have it develop right is music. Have you ever noticed how expecting mothers listen to music during pregnancy. This has many benefits, for one it helps the child bond with the mother, knowing her type of music and getting to know what she likes and her strengths and weaknesses. This makes for a stronger bond with the mother. It also helps with the development of the child, finding joy in music and understanding the awesome power of it. As we get older we start to really like whatever type of music we like but when we go back to that music that we heard while still not even born we get a warm fuzzy feeling that only comes from your mom listening to music while she was pregnant with you. As we grow up and move to middle school our brains start to have a different thing that happens and the rest of our body starts to change and we start to gravitate toward being our own person and like our own music. Music is a huge part of our lives and helps us through our development stages. Our brains are not done fully developing till we are 25 and the only way that we get through all of that is by listening to music and really giving ourselves the best chance to have our brains develop right. Except for the fact that we are trying to conserve natural fossil fuels and reduce the problems of exhaust emissions from internal combustion engines by encouraging EVs as mode of transportation. EVs are man made solution to the depletion of natural resources and climate change. b) Human made infrastructure To power an electric vehicle, consumers must have the ability to connect their vehicle to a source of electricity, the utility must have the capacity to transmit and distribute this additional power and sufficient electricity generation capacity must exist. The onus is on the government as well as the private sector to meet these three conditions i.e. providing 1. Charging equipment 2. Distribution capacity and 3. Electricity generation. The charging equipment is not very expensive and it would not be difficult for households and commercial enterprises to install them. The adequacy of the generation and distribution systems need to be upgraded and monitored and necessary investments need to be made to keep up with the increasing demand from EVs. Finally, if there emerges the need for a rapid electrification campaign, the utilities will be under pressure to build new facilities and the older coal fired power plants will remain in use, ironically diluting the environmental benefits of EV adoption strategy. One day she hopes to write her own fiction novels. For now, she enjoys writing short fiction as a way to practice her writing skills. When Amy writes her fictional short stories she makes sure to include a good plot structure and exciting characters. The most fun part for Amy is figuring out what type of conflict she will create for her characters. She also enjoys demonstrating through her writing how unique her characters are. She does this by allowing them to speak in dialects specific to their birth place. For example, in one of her stories, the main character is from New Jersey. So, each time the character refers to the beach, she says down the shore. Saying I m going down the shore , instead I m going to the beach, is common among those born in New Jersey.
