24-Hour Dietary Analysis
The 24 hour dietary recalls were assessed with the standardized, interactive PC guided program EPIC
Soft (11, 12). 847 participants, ≥18 years old (only these were invited for anthropometry assessment
and a blood sample), completed at least two (most of them three) 24 hour recalls. The 24 hour recalls
were assessed by trained study personnel in a telephone interview. The data from the recalls per
person were weighted for weekday and weekend day to calculate the average daily food intake. The
different foods reported during the 24 hour dietary recalls were grouped into 17 food groups (12).
Nutrient intakes were calculated using food content data from the German food composition database

Technology Based Learning Essay
Technology based learning (TBL) constitutes learning via electronic technology, including the
Internet, intranets, satellite broadcasts, audio and video conferencing, bulletin boards, chat rooms,
webcasts, and CD ROM. TBL also encompasses related terms, such as online learning and web based
learning that only include learning that occurs via the Internet, and computer based learning that is
restricted to learning through the use of computers. E learning is synonymous with TBL and has
largely replaced it in scholarship and industry as the term of choice.
TBL holds the promise of substantially transforming the way learning takes place because of its
numerous advantages. Among these, TBL fosters greater accessibility to learning by offering anytime
and anywhere delivery. It is readily scalable to both large and small groups since it can accommodate
larger numbers of learners at little extra cost and smaller groups of learners that otherwise would not
be able to participate in traditional classroom training for lack of enrollments. Further, the content of
TBL courses, especially those that are delivered online, can be centrally developed and updated
whenever the need arises; therefore, the cost of replacing outdated course materials and retraining
teachers and instructors drops significantly. From the learners point of view, TBL can be self paced
and matched to the learner s needs, and, building on pedagogy that emphasizes the merits of discovery
learning, it offers

The Nanjing Massacre
The Nanjing Massacre occurred for six weeks, having fell to the Japanese, they began their infamous
massacre also known as the rape of Nanjing. This sequence of events not only affected Nanjing
historically, but the effect is has on current day Nanjing is nothing less than astonishing. Throughout
the six weeks an estimated 300,000 soldiers (Controversial, as there are different numbers thrown
around) and civilians were killed. The Nanjing massacre is known as one of the most destructive mass
murders in history (staff, 2009). Nanjing, one of China s greatest ancient capitals located in eastern
china is found in Jiangsu, China. Nanjing has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture having
served as the capital of various Chinese dynasties, kingdoms and republican governments. Zhu
Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty (1378 1644) rose to throne in 1368, over throwing
the Yuan dynasty and renaming it Yingtian and making it the dynastic capital in 1368. Emerging as the
political and cultural center of southeastern China at the time, it ultimately ended in a disaster and
stained Chinese history forever (Kuo, 2016). Nanjing at the time with about a population of
approximately a million was a prime target when Japan invaded china in 1937. That November,
Japanese troops made their way into the city, and the gruesome fighting and raping went on for weeks.

Sleepy Hollow Research Paper
Near Sleepy Hollow is a village called Tarrytown. It was settled many years ago by people from
Holland. The village had a small school. And one teacher, named Ichabod Crane. Ichabod Crane was a
good name for him, because he looked like a tall bird, a crane. He was tall and thin like a crane. His
shoulders were small, joined two long arms. His head was small, too, and flat on top. He had big ears,
large glassy green eyes and a long nose. One day in autumn Ichabod was asked to come to a big party
at the Van Tassel home. He dressed in his best clothes. A farmer loaned him an old horse for the long
trip to the party. After when he arrived Ichabod was happy dancing with Katrina as Brom looked at

The horseman followed over bush and stone until they came to the end of the valley. There the

with white bones shining in the moonlight. The stories ended and time came to leave the party.
Ichabod seemed very happy until he said goodnight to Katrina. Was she ending their romance. He left
feeling very sad. Had Katrina been seeing Ichabod just to make Brom Van Brunt jealous so he would

only thing he could. His shaking voice broke the silent valley. Ichabod s old horse began to move

Garden Weeds Research Paper
Your normal weed executioner gets rid of garden weeds once they appear. That isn t the most effective
approach to dispose of weeds however. The most ideal approach to weeds is to put paid to them before
they even appear. However, there is a whole other world to utilizing pre rising weedicide (which is the
thing that it is called) than simply showering everything over your garden. We should investigate how
you can deal with your weeds (not weed) even before they appear. Weeds assume control over a
garden by spreading their seeds around. Pre developing weed executioner works by ensuring that the
seeds of yard weeds absolutely never grow. As the weed seeds lie in your dirt through the winter

For the photograph that I took, I decided to follow Weston s theme and photograph an organic object
with interesting features. I needed to find something with a vivid texture so that the photograph could
allow the viewer to almost feel what I could. I searched throughout my room until finally, I found
what I was looking for. It was a shell from the Pacific Ocean that I had brought back with me from
Mexico. The shell had off whites blended into browns and reds. It also had ridges running from the
origin of the shell, to the outside. I found the situation to be somewhat ironic considering that Weston
had lived in Mexico taking photographs, and also took pictures of shells. The camera that I used to
photograph the shell was a Canon EOS Rebel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each ridge is visible and grows in size as it migrates from the origin to the edge, which shows how
perfect and mathematical nature can be at times. The change in color pattern is also very visible. There
is even a small chip in the shell can be seen at the top left corner. Some of the lint of the peacoat is
visible in the picture, but it only gives enough so much as to emphasize the texture of the backdrop.
When I went to print the picture, I edited the picture so that it would look black and white like the rest
of Weston s photographs. I also added a little more contrast to the picture so that the lines of the shell
would look a tiny bit sharper because I wanted to make up for not having a 64 aperture. In my
opinion, the photograph holds a very close resemblance to Weston s pictures of shells in which he
tried to capture all of their natural beauty. I like the way the photo turned out, but wish I could have
had a better area to take the picture instead of laying on the ground and using books. The picture may
have come out a hair more detailed if I would have had a tripod, but I don t think it made that big of a
difference. I believe that I was able to try and replicate Weston s process to the best of my ability with

Glossophobia Speech
In the United States alone, as much as 75% of the population struggles with the fear of public
speaking, also known as glossophobia. Glossophobia is the fear of public speaking, some cases more
extreme than others. Certain cases of glossophobia may be just a phobia, while other cases may just be
as simple as stage fright. Throughout my life, I have had to give speeches on topics from Justin Bieber
to the Jack Trice football stadium in Ames, and each minute is one I will never get back. Even though
speeches are something I hate doing, I feel as though I learn something new each time I give a speech.
The things I struggle with the most in giving speeches is the fear of being judged, the fear of failure,
and how nervous I get before and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The best way to prepare for a speech is to make notes, memorize certain parts, get the timing perfect
(SC4). Failure while giving a speech is something that without the proper preparation, could very
likely happen. Having small side notes written down while giving a speech are crucial to help move
along the process. Notes not only move along the speech, but they are used as a guide as to what do
say and talk about next. Memorization is one the biggest key components about a speech: without
memorization a speech will not come easy and someone could fail without it (SC3). Timing is another
one of the major key components of a speech (BE3). Along with memorization, without timing the
speech, it may not flow and could be confusing to the audience. The best way to practice timing is to
plan out your speech, focus on what needs to be memorized, and time it from there. Nerves are
something that everyone gets before giving a speech, but others know how to control their nerves
unlike myself. Nervous and worried, is exactly how I go into every speech I give, wishing I could be
confident and excited (BE1). The best way to not be nervous is to take deep breaths, practice, and to
accept the fear. Fighting nerves isn t easy; breathing, is the easiest way (SC2). Before a big speech,
when someone is nervous, their muscles will tighten, but taking deep breaths to get oxygen to your
brain will help relax the body.

How Audiences Perceive Strong Female Characters,...
To test how audiences perceive strong female characters, Oppenheimer, Goodman, Adams‐Price,
Codling, and Coker (2003) ran a study where they had participants rate strong female characters on a
feminine to masculine scale, as well as attractiveness, sex appeal, relatability not a word, and humor
on a 7 point scale. The aim was to see how participants would respond to a female voice, if an
assertive actress would be characterized as masculine, and in general how female characters are
perceived by viewers. What they found was that women found the female characters to be slightly
stronger than men did, that the actresses were seen as slightly feminine do you mean they were found
to be slightly above the mean for femininity? Not sure what slightly feminine means, and that
attractiveness, sex appeal, and humor had no real impact on the perception of power. Also provide
more detail here were there weaker female characters that were also rated? Or those perceived as less
attractive? Knowing that women and men both consume and internalize representations and
stereotypes portrayed in media, it is important to then look at how women are being depicted and what
some causes behind this shift could be. Lauzen and Dozier (2005) investigated if popular films
continue to carry out the idea too vague use more precise language that men are powerful and
successful and women are submissive and not as successful by looking at an analysis of the top 88
domestic grossing films of 2002.

The film October Sky is a motion picture consisting of Homer Hickam s journey. His journey is
composed of various setbacks and advancements. A perfect analogy of his journey can be put into this
simple saying: two steps forward one step back. This analogy collaborates perfectly with Homer s

want to be. In order to reach my goal I must finish university at a high standard, then move onto
medical school to finish my education. Although, my challenges do not align with Homer s, one
bridge that can connect us, is the fact that our fathers are extremely demanding. Now, John Hickam

contradicts my father s belief, which is of me being optimistic and becoming something which
involves tons of hard work. This places a great deal of pressure on me in my studies. My method of
achieving this will be, of course, working hard and such. However, it also plays a big part in me

create. The displaced people also include old people above 60 for whom this is a safety net post

preferring local employers to foreign establishments. Yet it will give employment opportunities for
Japanese women
Conclusion: The entry of Toys R Us would shake the traditional Japanese toy business, however the
cracks appearing in the retail structure points towards the need for transformation in the Japanese
market. Hence Toys R Us potentially is a good prospect for the Japanese markets.
Answer3 Has Toys R Us chosen the best entry strategy for the Japanese market? Has it chosen the

Essay on The Prince vs. the Republic
Machiavelli s criticism of Plato s The Republic states that a ruler who possesses an inherent quality of
that which is consistently good will never have the authority to rule his or her people successfully. If a
ruler always treats his subjects in a manner, which can be qualified as good, then he will ultimately
meet his demise, as his subjects will rise against him. Machiavelli claims that it is unrealistic to
assume that all the people of a kingdom will conduct themselves in a manner that will be consistent
with the ruling of a good leader. Such republics or principalities do not exist in reality and are entirely
hypothetical situations.
Plato treats his republic as a means of demonstrating that there is a certain way for all people ... Show

He believes that the knowledge and application of the good will lead to a perfect state. However, this
cannot be said to be realistic, as despite the education of the good, one s desires will ultimately
overcome the need to be good and the state will collapse. If the rulers are only thinking of the overall
good of the state, their own needs will not be met, which can lead to unhappiness on the part of the
rulers and ultimately to the downfall of the system. Machiavelli implies in his criticism that the needs
of the ruler must be met in order to maintain a stable state, he must trust his instincts and base desires
in order to remain true to himself. If he does not, as Plato states and does as he ought to, not as he
wishes to, then he will be living a lie within himself and not rule as he should. Without being true to
what human nature tells one to do, an uprising either within the ruler or of the subjects will take place
and the state cannot stay afloat.
As Plato states in the republic the desires of the less respectable majority are controlled by the desires
and the wisdom of the superior minority (Part 5, 431d), however one cannot suppress all of the desires
forever and the people will finally realize the oppression that they are experiencing and rise against
the superior minority . The minority will not possess the power needed to control the less respectable

The Structure Of Dn Cooperation And Competition
The Structure of DNA: Cooperation and Competition
PRACTICAL PROBLEM:
The question How do living things pass on their traits to offspring had long been on the minds of
researchers.
CURIOSITY:
Curiosity was a trait of all those who wondered about that question. Gregor Mendel was just one of
those people leading up to the four who discovered the structure of DNA.
The four people who discovered the structure of DNA built upon the EXPLORATION AND
DISCOVERY of others:
At the time of this discovery, the groundwork in DNA research had been prepared, beginning with the
work of Gregor Mendel in the 19th century.
NEW TECHNOLOGY:
Later, in the decades of the 1940 s and 50 s, the understanding of DNA grew because of new
technology.
DISCOVERY:
It was learned that DNA is made of phosphates, sugars, four bases and discovering that those bases are
stacked .34 nanometers apart and that the DNA bases always occur in the same A=T, C=G ratios.
PERSONAL MOTIVATION:
Part of the motivation for those who discovered the structure of DNA is that there were other
individuals and groups interested in answering the same questions about the way life works. It may
have added a little pressure and excitement to the process.
MAURICE WILKINS, Nuclear physicist
Maurice built his career by becoming educated regarding the contributions and discoveries of others.

The Importance Of Being Earnest Satire Essay
Morality and Foolery In times where earnestness is priority, foolery ensues to escape societal pressure
and morality takes a back seat. Oscars Wilde s play The Importance of Being Earnest highlighted this
fact with satire. In the Victorian Age of London, outward appearance of seriousness, respect, and
societal conformity are of the utmost importance. Citizens of this age were expected to uphold those
standards, even above their own happiness and health. With so much pressure to keep up with
reputations and affairs, Wilde s characters took to lying or bunburying to elude their responsibilities.

Homeostasis; it refers to the maintenance of a steady state in the body (optimum level) through
hormonal and nervous mechanisms despite the external environment or fluctuations. It is important as
it regulates normal body function. It is required for biochemical processes which work efficiently
within a specific temperature and pH range and therefore the body must maintain these conditions.
Homeostasis works by detecting change in environment which is then corrected with the appropriate
response, this is called negative feedback. Negative feedback is the mechanism that corrects the

A Successful Leader During A Time Of Change Essay

Genealogy Is The Study Of One s Ancestry And Genetic History
Genealogy is the study of one s ancestry and genetic history. It helps us appreciate our ancestor s lives,
which may have been seemingly insignificant at the time. Genealogy helps us understand our habits
and physical features. It also explains the unique genetic variations casted within us, and depicts a
picture of how the culture we practice today came to be, it is not just history of events but our
biological history that shaped us. Many Bangladeshi origin people both in Bangladesh and those
abroad identify themselves as full or pure Bengali. Which means that their Bengali root goes back
many generations back, but many who identify themselves as pure or full Bengali ethnically don t
usually think about their genetic roots that go deeper into just language and culture. Many of these

Ethos Logos
THESIS: In Jonathan Edwards Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God vivid imagery is utilized

A Study On The Strategy Estimation
The next strategic estimating method is to undertake the expert judgmental estimation since this
particular project estimation method is driven around taking expert opinion and by understanding the
strategic project requirements.
The results are fast since expert opinion is driven through various elements while accuracy of
estimations is not always certain due to project complexity. The experts are pooled from operations,
business and management team so as to drive the right level of estimation knowledge for any given
project as per the business strategic requirement. The expert judgment estimation is done for relatively
simple and repetitive projects so that there is not much data complexity.

The vendor undertakes the following key strategic approach to enable the project estimations:
 The cost analysis is done on the basis of various vendors pricing for each of the component or
services provided.
 The exposes risks are highlighted since each element for project is procured through vendors.
 Drives estimations on the basis of calculating average or better price from number of vendor bid.
The vendor bid analysis suits the need whenever all the material or resources are deployed from third
party vendors and project is managed by internal team. This is one of strategic approach to enable
better efficiency.
3.3.8. Reserve Analysis
This is one of fundamental strategic technique for conducting the estimates on the basis of reserve
analysis. The technique deploys the estimates on the basis of considering provisions to manage
uncertainties and risks through using a reserve pool of resources so as to do the best possible
performance deployment.
The reserve set of people enables managing the project since their cost can be relatively low and able
to drive the major project objectives and to meet strategic goals. This approach is used whenever there
is simple or less important project need to drive within controlled cost elements.
3.3.9. Bottom up Analysis
The Bottom Up analysis is a technique that is deployed to get the better project estimation accuracy,
however this estimation method required a project team to decompose the

Abstract In today s dynamic entertainment environment, movies are struggling to stay afloat and
remain profitable. Challenges such as piracy, digital theft, competition, overlapping movie campaigns,
media fragmentation, and audience saturation are forcing marketers to stretch their film budgets and
make every dollar as effective as possible. With more and more entertainment options crowding

According to Gnoffo (2005), by the end of 2004, Forrester Research estimated there were TiVos and
other DVRs in 6.5 million US households, up from 1.9 million in 2002. That number, the firm claims,
will climb to almost 50 million by 2009, representing 41% of all US households. On another front, the
popularity of Netflix, an online subscription service boasting 3 million users, prompted both
Blockbuster and Wal Mart to offer similar services whereby people rent DVDs for an unlimited time
for a monthly fee. While it s true that DVDs may be a cash cow for studios, theaters suffer when
patrons skip the cinema experience and wait for those releases at home. Needless to say, given the
increase in entertainment options, the movie going experience needs to be far more compelling to
draw in audience members. Moreover, this challenge is not likely to subside, but rather grow more
compelling: as discussed by Charny (2005), a recent study by Informa Research Services indicates
that 125 million people about 5% of all cell phone owners will be watching television on their
handsets by 2010. In addition, the Digital Lifestyles 2006 Outlook from Parks Associates (Scherf,

Comparing Bonnie And Clyde
Everybody loves a good rebel. Throw a love story in with it and bam you ve got yourself a great
plotline. What makes it even better is if it is a true account. This story of Bonnie and Clyde has
survived through the ages and the critics by surpassing any movie that had been done on the killer duo
before it. It was the American dream that had a deadly ending. It did not end well for them much like
it hadn t for most chasing the dream of prosperity. And while Bonnie and Clyde may not have gotten
their prosperity they did gain the fame they so wished for. This blood drenched movie changed
America with it s violence, sex symbols, and the hero s journey in ways we can still see today on the
big screen.

They are also the good guys. But I think that this movie takes a look at the Hero s Journey a little bit
differently. The hero in this story would be Bonnie. In the beginning she is living in an ordinary world.
She wants a life of adventure but does not know how to go about this. Then there is that call to
Adventure. I believe that Clyde would be Bonnie s call. He is young, fit, charismatic. He falls in her
sexual range. But Bonnie wants a dangerous man. You just have to look at her husband to know she
wants a bad boy. Clyde has all of that, seeing as that he was in jail, and was still a thief. He also
carried a gun. This was alluring to Bonnie. There is not much of a refusal of the call. She is lured right
away. She does learn some about him but still ends up running away with him. Then you have meeting
the mentor. The mentor in this story would also have to be Clyde. He has experience is being a thief
and a criminal. He knows how to use a gun in which he teaches Bonnie. He also shows her how to pull
off a robbery. There then is crossing the threshold from where there is no return. Bonnie crosses this
threshold as soon as she runs away with Clyde and crosses from staying within the law and becomes
an outlaw. She commits herself to a life of crime. There are tests that Bonnie has to undergo. She has
to learn to be cool during robberies, car chases, and being shot at. She recruits C.W. who becomes part
of her gang. She also has to be contend with the enemies she gains which fall from the law
enforcement to Blanche. Then we come to the approach to the inmost cave. With this it is the
reference to their inevitable death. Which would be violent. And we see Bonnie handle this with
acceptance. After we see the ordeal. It is the fill arc of Bonnies crime. It was fun in the beginning then
it becomes deadly. When they start killing more and more people the violent becomes frequent.

Comparison among Payback, ARR and NPV
D J ltd is currently aware of only pay back method of project appraisal and has set a payback period of
2 years for accepting project. Payback method refers to the span of time within which the investment
made for the project will be recovered by the net return of the project. D J s payback period option is 2
years, which means within these 2 years the initial investment will be recovered by means of the net
returns to the selected project. The good thing about payback method is that it is easy to compute and
it helps to prevent cash flow problems since money will be recovered as early as possible. Hence,
there are shortcomings of payback period method which needs to be taken under consideration before
sticking with payback method only to choose project.  One shortcoming of this method is that it
overlooks the net income made available by the project after the payback period. In terms of same
payback period, it can result to prefer a lower profit project.

There were many uses of technology specialized for spies during WWll. Great tactics and innovation

The pigeon stems from the Rock Pigeon, which is from the bird family Columbidae. The usage of
carrier pigeons as ways of delivering a message dates back to centuries ago. During WWll, pigeons
were dependent on to deliver discreet messages from and to an area. More than 250,000 carrier
pigeons were used in World War II (WWII Carrier Pigeon Finally Delivers Secret Message). For
usage, a pigeon would be equipped with a small capsule fastened to one leg (or to its back if it was
larger) and often released from an aircraft. These pigeons were trained to navigate where to go and
how to come back. According to America in WWII, Over short distances, these birds could approach
60 miles per hour, though 35 to 40 miles was a more typical average cruising speed. Flying is
strenuous, and on a long flight, a bird could lose 2 or 3 ounces about a fifth of its 13 to 15 ounces of
body weight. For this reason, younger birds, one to four years old, were used (Razes). Pigeons were
very beneficiary to WWll and were helpful in carrying messages across the country when it seemed
impossible to carry by word of mouth or very far traveling distance. Along with the advantages came
the disadvantages. The owners faced difficulties such as importing, hiding, feeding, and exercising
them. Also, there was a limitation to distance and direction which could be flown (Rigden

When you think of women in the media you think of, well........ There so much to assume. And I aunt

Rational Decision For Making Rational Decisions
The ability for one to make rational decisions is vital, and this is especially true for decisions that can
have enormous consequences. The process for making rational decisions is tedious, it requires one to
have the opportunity to deeply process, evaluate, and re evaluate available options. This suggests that
rational decisions must be made in the absence of external parties because external influences are
capable of preventing individuals from processing information for themselves. Otherwise, this would
likely result in the individual coming to rash conclusions that cater to the external parties.
Unfortunately, under most circumstances, it is a challenge to make rational decisions, because as
social animals, we constantly expose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this essay, I will demonstrate that social factors such as media propaganda and conformity, as well
as personal factors which include schemas and aggression management, are the main forces that had
driven me into being irrational while I was filling out the survey. Social factors like media propaganda
and conformity have prevented me from answering the survey questions rationally. In the aftermath of
the tragic event in France on November 13th, there was extensive media coverage on the incident, and
the likelihood for future terrorist attack became the hottest topic amongst my family and friends. The
media often portrays itself as an objectively neutral source of information, and by doing so they are
able to persuade their viewers more effectively. Furthermore, the effectiveness of media propaganda
drastically increases if emotional appeals are incorporated in the messages. This can be observed in a
study which shows that smokers who got frightened when watching a film on the dangers of smoking,
were more likely to quit smoking, and in this case, the media is making use of my fear (Leventhal
1970). Different forms of media, e.g. news on television, newspaper, online news articles, and talk
shows, all painted the Syrian refugees as potential threats to our safety. For example, in one article, a
journalist discusses the potential danger we would be in if terrorists were to pose as Syrian refugees

Historical Capitalism And The Context Of Historical...
Over time, capitalism has become one of the most dynamic economic systems that have ever existed.
Not only has it been successful in bringing the entire world into a solitary framework, it has also
shifted the economic state, primarily focusing on maximizing profits for the owners. This is evident as
presented throughout Frederick Engels Theoretical. Engels peers deeper into the fundamental context
of capitalism; however, in order to do this, he must develop a better understanding of its
inconsistencies and how it has impact the overall development of the world. The notion of historical
materialism is addressed when further analyzing the overall context of capitalism. According to
Engels, he argues that historical materialism starts from the principle that production, and with
production the exchange of its products, is the basis of every social order... (Engels, 1959: 292). In
simpler terms, historical materialism is a system of production and exchange which have always been
the driving forces in social and political changes. It addresses that in every society, wealth is
distributed and divided into classes or orders dependent upon what is produced, how it is produced,
and how the products are exchanged (Engels, 1959: 292). However, Engels does not see historical
societal changes independent of the economic system corresponding to it. He believes that historical
materialism is not something that only concerns capitalism, it involves itself with all economic
systems, from

Danube River represents the river closest to the papal city through the figure touching Pope s personal

for wealth for Europe. In addition, the la Plata figure is fearful of a snake, which represents the fear
that the money could be stolen. It is rumored that Bernini put the la Plata figure in front of his rival s

baroque style by being very theatrical and making the viewer walk around the entire statue. This work

The Importance Of Faith In A Prayer For Owen Meany
The important meaning of the novel, A Prayer for Owen Meany, is of religious faith, more specifically
the relationship between faith and doubt in a world in which there is no obvious evidence for the
existence of God. John writes on the first page of the book that Owen Meany is the reason that he is a
Christian, and an ensuing story is presented as an explanation of the reason why. The explanation for
Owen s effect on John s faith is extremely simple, Owen s life is a miracle. He has supernatural
visions and dreams, he believes that he acts as God s instrument, and he has divine foreknowledge of
his own death. He was sure of two things; God had a plan for everybody, and second, he was God s
instrument. His believed that the plan consisted of God making him a hero. John struggles throughout
the book to resolve his religious faith with his skepticism and doubt. That highly personal tone runs
throughout the entire novel. This film that adapted the novel much later is by far one of the most
moving, well filmed movies I have seen in many years. The touching story shows the life of young
Simon in a very small, and not always understanding community. It is set beautifully in the 1950s and
shows how the inner strength and enormous faith shown by such a little boy afflicted with so many
physical problems can have such an influence on those around him, along with the respect he would
command amongst his peers. Although the significance and plot are basically the same, the movie

Anna Sewell Research Paper
Anna Sewell was perhaps the only person whom book was called the first significant children s story
in English language. She was born in Norfolk, England on March 30, 1820. Her father was Isaac
Sewell (1793 1879), and her mother, Mary Wright Sewell (1798 1884) was a successful writer of
children s books in her own right. She faced many challenges and accomplishments in her lifetime.
Growing up she loved riding horses and telling stories. As a young girl, Anna was more concerned
about the humane treatment of horses and she often spent hours with her father traveling to and from
the station. She helped her mother edit her manuscripts from an early age and published her own in
1877. Sewell received most of her education at home and had a younger brother named Philip.
Sewell wrote the book Black Beauty the last seven years of her life. She began writing it 1871 and

health spas in Germany and Spain to help cure her ankle injuries. Also, growing up, she was often too
weak to hold the pencil herself, so instead her mother wrote while Anna told her story. Following that
in 1871, Sewell was confined her home by her disability. Sewell became increasingly ill during the
writing of Black Beauty, and it is only through her mother s transcription and dictation that the novel
was completed. Anna Sewell died of hepatitis on April 25, 1878 just five months after her publication,

Analyzing Two Forms Of Media
Analysing Two Forms of Media
First impressions are extremely vital. We form an opinion within the first 30 seconds of meeting
someone and that plays a vital role in the relationships formed. Similarly with films, the audiences
usually identifies with the genre within a few minutes of the screening. With that in mind, this analysis
will focus upon decoding the opening sequence of two contrasting films in order to understand its tone
and genre. In this case, the opening sequence is defined as the point until which the title is established,
this is usually within the first 120 to 180 seconds of the film. I have chosen to compare the mise en
scène of a modern day romantic comedy, What If (Michael Dowse, 2014) versus the classic horror
film, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This establishes the tone of the film as energetic and gives the audience the impression that the
narrative and characters are light hearted. Furthermore, the movie begins at night which suggests a
sense of romance, which is a central theme of the film. However, in The Shining , the camera follows
a single yellow car through a changing scenery of mountains and landscapes. From the wideness of
the shots, we see the environment as desolated and lonely. The audience is aware that there is no sign
of life apart from the driver of the car. This hints that isolation will be an important theme of the film.
It also establishes the driver as the central character of the film. Thomas Caldwell describes framing as
a way of withholding information from the audience (Caldwell, 2005). Although conversely, it is also
a way of including an image or object within a frame to convey a specific meaning. In What If shots
of the Toronto skyline are frequently shown throughout the film, usually in the background or out of
focus, to reinforce the idea established in the beginning that the city is another character in the film.
Similarly, In The Shining the hotel is where the entire narrative unfolds. Hence, it is imperative to
focus on the location at the beginning of the film itself.
The opening scene of What If is set at night but this is not to imply that the lighting is or dark but that
it is sultry, playful and romantic. The accompanying music which

Hamlet Ghost Is Real Essay
Maybe he s real and maybe he s not, either way, the ghost certainly seems real to Hamlet. Throughout
Hamlet, both the reader and young Hamlet are in a dilemma as to whether or not the ghost of Hamlet s
father is a spirit sent to tempt and destroy Hamlet or if it is truly his father who has come to reveal the
tragedy of his death so that revenge can be sought. On the one hand, it is rather easy to believe that the
general Shakespearian attitudes and assumptions about apparitions are correct, that they are spirits
sent from hell to tempt and wreak havoc on the living. On the other hand, however, the reader, like
Hamlet, cannot help but feel compelled to listen to the ghost s tale about his death and his lack of
peace. Because of the verbal power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So It is clearly possible that the ghost as a father might just be a figment of Hamlet s imagination, as
Hamlet is also the only one who has a dialogue with the ghost and he s the only one who sees or hears
it when the ghost shows up, for instance, in Gertrude s chamber to remind Hamlet to be nice to his
mom. Even before Hamlet finds out that the ghost has been appearing on the castle walls, he says to
Horatio My father methinks I see my father [...] in my mind s eye Has Hamlet been imagining his

Hamlet s way of dealing with the loss of the father he loved and idolized. Regardless of whether or not
the ghost actually exists though, the spirit perhaps represents the way young Hamlet is haunted by his
father s memory. Even though Claudius insists Hamlet s deep grief is unmanly and Gertrude pushes
Hamlet constantly to just move one, the prince just mentally and emotionally

Ussr And The Soviet Revolution
After the end of World War II, there was a bipolar world with the two superpowers being the United
States and the United Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). Though they fought together in the war to
defeat Hitler and the Axis powers, their lifestyles were too different to remain allies once it ended. The
United States had a capitalist economy with free markets whereas the USSR was a communist nation.
Due to this, the two nations were in the midst of a Cold War. Instead of fighting with armies, they
fought with threats, propaganda, and science to determine which nation would become the world
superpower. The USSR and the United States were in a nuclear arms race, but by 1986, public
unsatisfaction due to declining economic and political power ... Show more content on

Small pellets of slightly enriched uranium would be put into containers called fuel rods, then set up
into a line, called a fuel assembly, and positioned into a pressure tube. The tube, cooled by pressurized
water, is allowed to boil until reaching about 290 degrees Celsius. The assembly can be lifted into and
out of the reactor, allowing fuel replenishment during reactor operation. Graphite blocks surround the
pressure tubes in order to act as a moderator to slow down the neutrons released during fission so that
a continuous fission chain can be maintained. Boron carbide control rods are also supposed to absorb
neutrons in order to provide automatic, manual, or emergency control. If there were ever a deviation in
operation parameters, the rods would be dropped into the core to reduce or stop reactor activity.
Although, Chernobyl had certain measures in place to stop a reactor in case of emergency or
overheating, the reactors had characteristics deemed unsafe ( Appendix to Nuclear Power Reactors ).
April 25, 1986 was a normal day at the Chernobyl power plant. For weeks, the workers had been
planning a routine shutdown to coincide with a test of nuclear reactor four. They were trying to
determine how long the turbines would spin and supply power to the main circulating pumps
following any loss of main electrical power ( Chernobyl Accident 1986 ). This test was needed to
verify that the cooling process on the reactor stayed in place even with no power because if

The Philosophy Of Science And Science
Before this class began, I thought of myself as a person who tended to lean towards science as fact
based and found it hard to believe in some philosophical and religious claims that were not backed up
by experimentation and evidence. Five weeks later, my views haven t changed drastically, but have
instead been developed and broadened. I now understand the importance of the philosophy of science
and why philosophy and science should be interconnected. The need to question things that may
appear to be factual is something I now consider more than ever crossed my mind before this course.
At the beginning of the course, starting in Lecture One, we discussed the problem of knowledge and
the nature of scientific knowledge. The problem of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Examples like the theory of Plate Tectonics or the Alvarez Theory of mass extinction are cited as
examples of theory acceptance and when it is appropriate. The overarching theme from Losee is that
there are no rules that can objectively decide the acceptance or rejection of a new theory. This is a
confusing aspect of science, but is reflected in the history of scientific discoveries and those theories
we still hold to be true. Some theories are not necessarily confirmed, but are at the very least agreed
upon from empirical observations. By Lecture Four we covered multiple conceptions of method.
Method is central to the scientific enterprise. The founders of modern science were looking for an
impersonal, objective basis for their knowledge claims. This was coming at a time when science was
separating from religion based belief systems. Method is crucial to determining truth and developing
scientific hypotheses. Without a method in place, the goal of objectivity within science is
compromised. Method is discussed throughout the entirety of Losee s book. Losee generously
discusses theory acceptance, rejection, falsification, and replacement. He aims to show the method
behind these based on historical accounts in science, but as stated before, there is no set group of rules
that govern this. Instead the development of hypotheses and theories that we take are integrated,
comprehensive explanation of many facts. These hypotheses and

It is also notable to add that she was awarded honorary doctorates from the University of Missouri and
Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was awarded the doctorate for

Kennett High School. She states that teachers spend their own money for supplies in the classroom.
Your teachers ... spend up to $600, maybe more, a year [in classroom supplies], she told the kids. Then

Congenital Heart Disease Research Paper
Congenital Heart Disease
A little girl by the name of Jaelyn was born with congenital heart disease (CHD). Jaelyn s parents
learned about her condition called Ebstein s Anomaly during a fetal echocardiogram when her mother
was only 30 weeks pregnant. The doctors and nurses at Cardinal Glennon Children s Hospital
monitored Jaelyn in utero to watch for hydrops (heart failure) and other indications her heart disease
was affecting her growth. Jaelyn went into heart failure just five weeks later when her mother was
only 35 weeks pregnant. She was given a 5% chance of survival due to the severity of her defect. The
family was also told Jaelyn would not survive past her first birthday; she turns five in March. When
Jaelyn was born, her entire family was afraid she wouldn t survive the delivery, but thankfully, Jaelyn
s story is a true miracle. When the doctors see Jaelyn during routine checkups and physician visits,
they can t believe she has Ebstein s Anomaly because for how far she has come and how healthy she
looks. Sadly, not every child with congenital heart disease gets the miracle Jaelyn has been given.

During these first seven weeks a congenital heart defect typically occurs. Congenital heart disease is
when the heart forms either incompletely or incorrectly in utero. Acquired heart disease occurs later in
life. Infants are born with a normal heart that malfunctions later. Signs of acquired heart disease in
adults are the heart is beating too fast or too slow, beats erratically, infections, or it is stiff and pumps

Unit 1 Business at work
Businesses exist to produce goods and services. If someone is thinking of starting up their own
business or becoming part of an existing business, they would have to have the knowledge of what
makes business work successfully and know how to how to apply that knowledge in the particular
area of business. For this unit I will be entering and exploring the world of business. For this unit I
will encounter and evaluate information provided by certain businesses and actually gather my own
information from at least one business. The business I have chosen to study is J Sainsbury s.

Wages to employees are usually low.
Consultancy, Builders, Market traders, Window cleaners, Restaurant and corner shops are all
examples of sole traders.
The disadvantages of sole traders are as follows:
¡ If you don t work, you don t earn, so it would be wise to just work as much as possible and not take
holidays all the time.
¡ There is more pressure if you are a sole trader compared to working in a corporate business like Bt
Cellnet.
¡ You wont be as well known because its harder to advertise a small sole trader company
¡ There are no free benefits like a company car.
¡ The owner of the sole trader company has to deal with all the problems for themselves.
¡ It is very hard to compete with large companies, but on the good side bigger companies usually
charge more than a smaller sole trader company
¡ Probably the disadvantage of a sole trader company is the fact that it will have unlimited liability .
This means the owner is personally responsible for anything that goes wrong. The owner could have
their car or house taken away, this is why some businessmen with sole trader companies put there
house in their wives name.
¡ If things are bad the company could get

Filial Piety In A Devoted Son
Filial Piety in A Devoted Son A Devoted Son is the story of Rakesh, a young Indian man and the
relationship with his family. He receives top honors at school, accolades from his American and Indian
comrades, rises to the director of the local hospital, and becomes the richest doctor in his town. Critics
argue this is Desai s comment about perfect Indian society, where adherence to filial piety, respecting
one s parents, elders, and ancestors, is paramount (Crane). Rakesh s view of it leads to a breakdown in
his relationship with his father. The father feels neglected by his family because they no longer respect
his wishes. To Rakesh, belief in protecting his family from the ills of society, despite their temptation,
proves his dedication to family (Desai). Filial piety in the abstract is a good standard to live by, but it
could lead to destruction because adhering to it removes emotions. In the beginning, the relationship
between Rakesh and his parents was an admirable one. Rakesh considers his parents feelings prior to
making major decisions. From choosing a wife to becoming the primary caretaker to his father after
his mother s death, Rakesh s sole desire seems to make his parents proud. Though the author does not
dwell on the concept of filial piety regarding the mother, she shows her dedication to the family at the
expense of her health.
The mother s death marks a change in the family. The old father very quickly went to pieces, (Desai)
and could not adjust

Enjoyment is key. Otherwise what s the point of playing board games? Board games bring people

Hip Hop Culture By Fernando Orejuela Summary
This paper seeks to examine the different dimensions of hip hop, and what the hip hop culture means
to different people. After reading Fernando Orejuela s Rap and Hip Hop Culture, one would get a
better understanding of the various dimensions of the hip hop culture. For instance, there is a cultural
dimension that has played a tremendous role in the hip hop culture. Many of the modern styles of
dancing and music have come from traditions that were passed down. According to Orejuela, this is in
part because of slavery (Orejuela, 5). Hip hop culture has its roots in the spread of African and Latino
peoples from their original homes to the Americas , states Orejuela (Orejuela, 5). Orejuela goes on to
later discuss exactly how their customs have influenced this hip hop culture. An example of this is
when Orejuela states, Many influences, from Africa and Europe, have been combined to form a
number of popular dance forms that themselves can be seen as ancestors of b boying and
breakdancing (Orejuela, 26). From this, it is clear that culture is of importance in hip hop. Although
this is true, there are also other dimensions that have influenced this culture as well.
Another dimension of the hip hop culture discussed in Orejuela s book, is the recreational dimension.
According to Orejuela, this dimension of hip hop was influenced by many street gangs. Orejuela goes
into extensive detail on the subject of gangs throughout the early years of hip hop. Much of his
discussion focused

Choice And Agency In The Matrix Trilogy
As Dr. Mike Sosteric sagaciously suggests, the Matrix trilogy is a comprehensive metaphor for
modern capitalistic society (Sosteric, 2015). In the simplest discernment, the Matrix trilogy reveals
that the mass majority is either unaware of, or indifferent to, the extent that they are controlled by the
uppermost in society. Furthermore, the concepts put forth in the Matrix trilogy relate to a multitude of
the concepts introduced specifically in this unit, and the course in its entirety. These concepts include,
but are not limited to, agency, choice, power, propaganda, resistance, mobilization, demobilization,
ideology, and religion.
To begin with, regarding choice and agency, one part of the Matrix that resonates with me is when the

  • 3. Technology Based Learning Essay Technology based learning (TBL) constitutes learning via electronic technology, including the Internet, intranets, satellite broadcasts, audio and video conferencing, bulletin boards, chat rooms, webcasts, and CD ROM. TBL also encompasses related terms, such as online learning and web based learning that only include learning that occurs via the Internet, and computer based learning that is restricted to learning through the use of computers. E learning is synonymous with TBL and has largely replaced it in scholarship and industry as the term of choice. TBL holds the promise of substantially transforming the way learning takes place because of its numerous advantages. Among these, TBL fosters greater accessibility to learning by offering anytime and anywhere delivery. It is readily scalable to both large and small groups since it can accommodate larger numbers of learners at little extra cost and smaller groups of learners that otherwise would not be able to participate in traditional classroom training for lack of enrollments. Further, the content of TBL courses, especially those that are delivered online, can be centrally developed and updated whenever the need arises; therefore, the cost of replacing outdated course materials and retraining teachers and instructors drops significantly. From the learners point of view, TBL can be self paced and matched to the learner s needs, and, building on pedagogy that emphasizes the merits of discovery learning, it offers ... • 4. The Nanjing Massacre The Nanjing Massacre occurred for six weeks, having fell to the Japanese, they began their infamous massacre also known as the rape of Nanjing. This sequence of events not only affected Nanjing historically, but the effect is has on current day Nanjing is nothing less than astonishing. Throughout the six weeks an estimated 300,000 soldiers (Controversial, as there are different numbers thrown around) and civilians were killed. The Nanjing massacre is known as one of the most destructive mass murders in history (staff, 2009). Nanjing, one of China s greatest ancient capitals located in eastern china is found in Jiangsu, China. Nanjing has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture having served as the capital of various Chinese dynasties, kingdoms and republican governments. Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty (1378 1644) rose to throne in 1368, over throwing the Yuan dynasty and renaming it Yingtian and making it the dynastic capital in 1368. Emerging as the political and cultural center of southeastern China at the time, it ultimately ended in a disaster and stained Chinese history forever (Kuo, 2016). I needed to find something with a vivid texture so that the photograph could allow the viewer to almost feel what I could. I searched throughout my room until finally, I found what I was looking for. It was a shell from the Pacific Ocean that I had brought back with me from Mexico. The shell had off whites blended into browns and reds. It also had ridges running from the origin of the shell, to the outside. I found the situation to be somewhat ironic considering that Weston had lived in Mexico taking photographs, and also took pictures of shells. Some of the lint of the peacoat is visible in the picture, but it only gives enough so much as to emphasize the texture of the backdrop. When I went to print the picture, I edited the picture so that it would look black and white like the rest of Weston s photographs. I also added a little more contrast to the picture so that the lines of the shell would look a tiny bit sharper because I wanted to make up for not having a 64 aperture. In my opinion, the photograph holds a very close resemblance to Weston s pictures of shells in which he tried to capture all of their natural beauty. I like the way the photo turned out, but wish I could have had a better area to take the picture instead of laying on the ground and using books. Payback method refers to the span of time within which the investment made for the project will be recovered by the net return of the project. D J s payback period option is 2 years, which means within these 2 years the initial investment will be recovered by means of the net returns to the selected project. The good thing about payback method is that it is easy to compute and it helps to prevent cash flow problems since money will be recovered as early as possible. Hence, there are shortcomings of payback period method which needs to be taken under consideration before sticking with payback method only to choose project.  One shortcoming of this method is that it overlooks the net income made available by the project after the payback period. The process for making rational decisions is tedious, it requires one to have the opportunity to deeply process, evaluate, and re evaluate available options. This suggests that rational decisions must be made in the absence of external parties because external influences are capable of preventing individuals from processing information for themselves. In the aftermath of the tragic event in France on November 13th, there was extensive media coverage on the incident, and the likelihood for future terrorist attack became the hottest topic amongst my family and friends. The media often portrays itself as an objectively neutral source of information, and by doing so they are able to persuade their viewers more effectively. Furthermore, the effectiveness of media propaganda drastically increases if emotional appeals are incorporated in the messages. This can be observed in a study which shows that smokers who got frightened when watching a film on the dangers of smoking, were more likely to quit smoking, and in this case, the media is making use of my fear (Leventhal 1970). Not only has it been successful in bringing the entire world into a solitary framework, it has also shifted the economic state, primarily focusing on maximizing profits for the owners. This is evident as presented throughout Frederick Engels Theoretical. Engels peers deeper into the fundamental context of capitalism; however, in order to do this, he must develop a better understanding of its inconsistencies and how it has impact the overall development of the world. The notion of historical materialism is addressed when further analyzing the overall context of capitalism. According to Engels, he argues that historical materialism starts from the principle that production, and with production the exchange of its products, is the basis of every social order... (Engels, 1959: 292). In simpler terms, historical materialism is a system of production and exchange which have always been the driving forces in social and political changes. It addresses that in every society, wealth is distributed and divided into classes or orders dependent upon what is produced, how it is produced, and how the products are exchanged (Engels, 1959: 292). However, Engels does not see historical societal changes independent of the economic system corresponding to it. The Importance Of Faith In A Prayer For Owen Meany The important meaning of the novel, A Prayer for Owen Meany, is of religious faith, more specifically the relationship between faith and doubt in a world in which there is no obvious evidence for the existence of God. John writes on the first page of the book that Owen Meany is the reason that he is a Christian, and an ensuing story is presented as an explanation of the reason why. The explanation for Owen s effect on John s faith is extremely simple, Owen s life is a miracle. He has supernatural visions and dreams, he believes that he acts as God s instrument, and he has divine foreknowledge of his own death. He was sure of two things; God had a plan for everybody, and second, he was God s instrument. His believed that the plan consisted of God making him a hero. John struggles throughout the book to resolve his religious faith with his skepticism and doubt. That highly personal tone runs throughout the entire novel. This film that adapted the novel much later is by far one of the most moving, well filmed movies I have seen in many years. The touching story shows the life of young Simon in a very small, and not always understanding community. It is set beautifully in the 1950s and shows how the inner strength and enormous faith shown by such a little boy afflicted with so many physical problems can have such an influence on those around him, along with the respect he would command amongst his peers. Similarly with films, the audiences usually identifies with the genre within a few minutes of the screening. With that in mind, this analysis will focus upon decoding the opening sequence of two contrasting films in order to understand its tone and genre. From the wideness of the shots, we see the environment as desolated and lonely. The audience is aware that there is no sign of life apart from the driver of the car. This hints that isolation will be an important theme of the film. It also establishes the driver as the central character of the film. On the one hand, it is rather easy to believe that the general Shakespearian attitudes and assumptions about apparitions are correct, that they are spirits sent from hell to tempt and wreak havoc on the living. The overarching theme from Losee is that there are no rules that can objectively decide the acceptance or rejection of a new theory. This is a confusing aspect of science, but is reflected in the history of scientific discoveries and those theories we still hold to be true. Some theories are not necessarily confirmed, but are at the very least agreed upon from empirical observations. By Lecture Four we covered multiple conceptions of method. Method is central to the scientific enterprise. The founders of modern science were looking for an impersonal, objective basis for their knowledge claims. This was coming at a time when science was separating from religion based belief systems. Method is crucial to determining truth and developing scientific hypotheses. Without a method in place, the goal of objectivity within science is compromised. Method is discussed throughout the entirety of Losee s book. Losee generously discusses theory acceptance, rejection, falsification, and replacement. The disadvantages of sole traders are as follows: ¡ If you don t work, you don t earn, so it would be wise to just work as much as possible and not take holidays all the time. ¡ There is more pressure if you are a sole trader compared to working in a corporate business like Bt Cellnet. ¡ You wont be as well known because its harder to advertise a small sole trader company ¡ There are no free benefits like a company car. ¡ The owner of the sole trader company has to deal with all the problems for themselves. ¡ It is very hard to compete with large companies, but on the good side bigger companies usually charge more than a smaller sole trader company ¡ Probably the disadvantage of a sole trader company is the fact that it will have unlimited liability . • 49. Filial Piety In A Devoted Son Filial Piety in A Devoted Son A Devoted Son is the story of Rakesh, a young Indian man and the relationship with his family. He receives top honors at school, accolades from his American and Indian comrades, rises to the director of the local hospital, and becomes the richest doctor in his town. Critics argue this is Desai s comment about perfect Indian society, where adherence to filial piety, respecting one s parents, elders, and ancestors, is paramount (Crane). Rakesh s view of it leads to a breakdown in his relationship with his father. The father feels neglected by his family because they no longer respect his wishes. To Rakesh, belief in protecting his family from the ills of society, despite their temptation, proves his dedication to family (Desai). Filial piety in the abstract is a good standard to live by, but it could lead to destruction because adhering to it removes emotions. In the beginning, the relationship between Rakesh and his parents was an admirable one. Rakesh considers his parents feelings prior to making major decisions. From choosing a wife to becoming the primary caretaker to his father after his mother s death, Rakesh s sole desire seems to make his parents proud. Though the author does not dwell on the concept of filial piety regarding the mother, she shows her dedication to the family at the expense of her health. The mother s death marks a change in the family. The old father very quickly went to pieces, (Desai) and could not adjust ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 51. Hip Hop Culture By Fernando Orejuela Summary This paper seeks to examine the different dimensions of hip hop, and what the hip hop culture means to different people. After reading Fernando Orejuela s Rap and Hip Hop Culture, one would get a better understanding of the various dimensions of the hip hop culture. For instance, there is a cultural dimension that has played a tremendous role in the hip hop culture. Many of the modern styles of dancing and music have come from traditions that were passed down. According to Orejuela, this is in part because of slavery (Orejuela, 5). Hip hop culture has its roots in the spread of African and Latino peoples from their original homes to the Americas , states Orejuela (Orejuela, 5). Orejuela goes on to later discuss exactly how their customs have influenced this hip hop culture. An example of this is when Orejuela states, Many influences, from Africa and Europe, have been combined to form a number of popular dance forms that themselves can be seen as ancestors of b boying and breakdancing (Orejuela, 26). From this, it is clear that culture is of importance in hip hop. Although this is true, there are also other dimensions that have influenced this culture as well. Another dimension of the hip hop culture discussed in Orejuela s book, is the recreational dimension. According to Orejuela, this dimension of hip hop was influenced by many street gangs. Orejuela goes into extensive detail on the subject of gangs throughout the early years of hip hop. Much of his discussion focused ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the simplest discernment, the Matrix trilogy reveals that the mass majority is either unaware of, or indifferent to, the extent that they are controlled by the uppermost in society. Furthermore, the concepts put forth in the Matrix trilogy relate to a multitude of the concepts introduced specifically in this unit, and the course in its entirety. These concepts include, but are not limited to, agency, choice, power, propaganda, resistance, mobilization, demobilization, ideology, and religion.
