Water And Sanitation For The Bolivian People
Introduction One of the most studied phenomena in political science is how some countries were able
to develop into rich nations while some remained underdeveloped and poor. While the answer to this
important question is so unique and complex that it may never be answered, there are some policies
that may help a country to develop. One of which is the proper use of foreign aid. Bolivia, like many
of the counties in Latin America, is considered to be an LDC with its deeply rooted issued of severe
poverty. The country receives large amounts of foreign aid, and even with the reception of foreign aid,
Bolivia has seen insignificant changes to its developmental level due to the misuse of funds. The
USAID has decided to restore ties with Bolivia and grant the country $1 million. In this paper I will
suggest that the grant of these funds is to be used to provide clean sources of water and sanitation for
the Bolivian people. In the construction of this argument, I will begin with a broad summary of
Bolivia s developmental status, along with its nature, and the effect it has on its citizens. Next, I will
outline that the channeling of these funds will through NGOs and will go towards the building of
water purification and sanitation systems in both urban and rural areas. Third, I will explain why this
form of aid is the most effective method that will help Bolivia to overcome its lack of development. I
conclude that this particular approach to aiding Bolivia will offer and institute

Effects of Agriculture on the Environment Essay
Effects of Agriculture on the Environment
Introduction: Agriculture has changed dramatically, especially since the end of World War II. Food
and fibre productivity rose due to new technologies, mechanization, increased chemical use,
specialization and government policies that favoured maximizing production. These changes allowed
fewer farmers with reduced labour demands to produce the majority of the food and fibre.
Humans, like all other species, exploit their surroundings for the resources they need to survive. Our
current exploitation of the world, however, is greater than those of most species. There are many
reasons for this exploitation but we will focus on one and that is our technology, which is used for

It takes up to three hundred years for one inch of agricultural topsoil to form so soil that is lost is
essentially irreplaceable. The consequences for long term crop yields have not been sufficiently
measured. The amount of erosion varies from one field to another. This depends on the type of soil,
the slope of the field, the drainage patterns and the crop management practices. The effects of the
erosion vary also. The areas that are better able to sustain erosion without loss of productivity are
areas with deep organic loams. This is more sustainable than the areas where topsoil s are shallower.
Erosion removes the surface soils, containing most of the organic matter, plant nutrients, and fine soil
particles, which help to retain water and nutrients in the root zone where they are available to plants.
Thus it affects the productivity of plants. The remaining, the subsoil, tends to be less fertile, less
absorbent and less able to retain pesticides, fertilizers, and other plant nutrients. There are over 17,000
soil types recognized worldwide. They vary widely in structure, erodibility, fertility, and ability to
produce crops. A generalized soil profile for a humid, temperate climate is showed. When the natural
vegetation is cleared for agriculture, soils become exposed to erosion and loss of soil fertility. The
removal of the above ground natural

Violent Crime Issues
Violent crime has been a part of history since centuries ago. Early Romans and Greeks witnessed a
good rate of crime which lead to development of punishments and written laws such as the Draco s
code and later came ethical issues. As the time passed, new laws were created as human nature got
creative with crime. Constitutions were laid and documented. The United States constitution was
adopted from the English code of laws. Yet the most significant change was the development of
police. The role of police has been very questionable in the past years. There has been a lot of tension
between community and police. It is very disappointing that despite strong laws and police force
heinous crimes still occur. In the past couple years, the major adversarial crime the United States has
been dealing with is the mass shootings. Some of the prime examples of such shootings are Sandy
hook elementary shooting, San Bernardino shooting, Virginia Tech campus shooting and Orlando,
Florida shooting which occurred before the year 2017. Nevertheless, little did we know that the
deadliest mass shooting was about to shake the entire nation.
Sunday, October 1 2017 was recorded as one of the distressing days in the history of America. The
Washington Post states that around 9:40 pm country music singer Jason Aldean began his performance
at the annual Las Vegas music festival. This concert was being conducted in an outside venue around
1000 feet from the hotel Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. 20,000

The Time For Designing The Heart Of The Robot Essay
After the decisions regarding the body structure, it s the time for designing the heart of the robot.
Similar to many RC cars and other mini robot vehicles, using DC motors with a great package of
speed reducer gearbox would be the best method to run the vehicle. In this section, I express a brief
description of the DC motors and the chosen speed reducer gears, then next chapter would include
more details regarding the relation between the motors and the power moves the vehicle with all the
accessories. Also, it should be strong enough to supply the enough digging force when supporting the
arm. Mabuchi Motor Inc. is one of the major DC motor produces located in Japan. According to the
manufacturer s official website, Mabuchi Motor was born and has grown together with a dream, the
dreams of children, adults, technicians, and our customers. They have continued to move forward and
grow, responding to the hopes of many people. (Ref#4) However, their products couldn t fulfill my
needs and I decided to go with another more economic DC motor from RadioShack. (Fig#)
Investigating the method to turn the vehicle left or right motivates me to use two of these DC motors
simultaneously. One would actuate the right side and the other one controls the left wheels.
Aforementioned motor works with 9, 12 and 18V DC power. However, as it will be mentioned more
in details later, the power supply contains four 3.7V (total 14.8V) A123 batteries. RadioShack DC
motor reaches 24000 RPM with the

Moon Township, PA: 80.2072W 40.5081N
Map showing Moon Township, Pennsylvania in a Robinson projection format.
This is a Robinson projection that is centered at coordinates 80.2072°W and 0°N. Scales are true at
38°N and S and are equal at all corresponding latitudes that are equal distance from equator. I chose it
because it is a good compromise and is easy on the eyes. The amount of distortion is low within 45° of
the equator and greater towards the poles.

The standard parallels are 20 and 60 and between these distortion is minimal. This projection would
be particularly good as the base of a poverty map because the size of any area on the map is a true
proportion to its size on the earth. Poverty rate per 10,000 can be displayed in a dot density map. A dot
density shows the concentration of a quality in an area. One dot can represent every 10,000 people.
The map will not represent the results correctly if the areas are not in true proportion. Also, if areas are
not in the right proportion, countries that are larger will look less dense and countries that are smaller
will look too dense.

Gang Related Violence Case Study
Gang related violence is rising in England and Wales moreover gangs are becoming more aggressive
in their attempts to control large parts of cities across the country. Efforts to control their territory are
blamed for the rise in gun and knife related crime which has risen by 14 per cent in recent years. The
Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported a 27 per cent increase in all violent crime in 2016. Young
people are more likely to carry knives and resort to violent behaviour. However, the Conservative
Government cut front line police by 17,000 which has seen fewer police on the streets of cities across
England and Wales (Morris, 2016).

The basic unit of analysis for making merchandise management decisions is the merchandise category
(Levy Weitz, 2009), these are groups of items and brands that consumers see as direct substitutes for
one another, and for example different brands of milk cheese make up the dairy category. These
categories can be managed either by category or by brand; both of these approaches have advantages
and disadvantages. The advantages of category management are that management can ensure that the
category containing the best combinations of vendors or brands and sizes.
Store layout with regard to merchandise has a direct impact on the positioning of the store. The retailer
needs to decide how much store space to allocate towards a specific product category and how much
space must be allocated towards isles and advertising space. This is especially important with regard
to seasonal products such as Easter Eggs or other Easter merchandise. The differences in the
placement of these seasonal items between the different Spar shops will be used to determine the
difference in sales of those items.
3.1 INVENTORY
Increasing inventory turnover is a cornerstone to improving the sales volume and therefore the net
revenue of the retailer. Inventory turnover is especially important for perishable goods such as fruit
and vegetables. This is because these types of merchandise quickly turn bad and get damaged after
being handled for too long or from being under the

Michelangelo Sistine Chapel Ceiling
The Sistine Chapel ceiling is one of my favorite paintings by Michelangelo. It took him four years to
complete it. What I love about it is that he took the Bible stories and painted them onto the ceiling.
Each paint has its own story, and that can speak louder than works at times. As it tells a story, it also
tells us a little bit of what his beliefs are.
The Bible starts by telling us about Adam and Eve. How Eve took the fruit from the snake and gave it
to Adam and then they were ban from the Garden. You will notice a part of the ceiling has that story
painted. He has a man and a woman near the tree of knowledge. She has her hand out to take it from
the snake/man. Just one the other side of the tree it shows them being drove away by an

What the security issues are related to Wireless Sensor Networks
Wireless sensor networks are very important in everyday life. This new technology is exciting with
unlimited potential for numerous application areas including environmental, medical, military,
transportation, entertainment, emergency management and homeland defence. WSN are connected

An extension of this approach is in network aggregation which aggregates data progressively as it is
passed through a network. In network data aggregation can reduce the data packet size, the number of
data transmissions and the number of nodes involved in gathering data from a WSN. Therefore, in the
field of WSNs, privacy preserving data aggregation is becoming a hot issue in WSNs. To address this
issue, some protocols have been proposed. In this, they provide a comprehensive summary and
comparison of the existing privacy preserving data aggregation protocols for WSNs. WSN is related to
privacy preserving data aggregation protocols (Ping et al 2012). In the authors reviewed privacy
preserving techniques for protecting two types of private information: data oriented and context
oriented privacy. First, authors focuses only on data privacy in order to provide detailed overviews of
the existing privacy preserving data aggregation protocols for WSNs (Ping et al 2012). Two main
security challenges in secure data aggregation are confidentiality and integrity of data (Sugandhi et al
2013). While traditionally encryption is used to provide end to end confidentiality in Wireless Sensor
Network (WSN), the aggregators in a secure data aggregation scenario need to decrypt the encrypted
data to perform aggregation. Thus, while data aggregation improves energy efficiency of a network, it
complicates the existing

Essay on A Non-religious Contract In America
A Non Religious Contract in America
The religious standards of Americans today have plummeted to a new low.
Fewer people are going to church than earlier in the century. Many people are marrying without even
going to a priest by getting a judge to marry them.
Divorce is steadily on the rise. Today s society accepts homosexuals! Now the issue arises over
whether we should allow homosexuals to marry. And you know what? It is really none of the
government s business.
America can no longer deny its homosexual citizens the right to have a legal marriage. Looking at
today s society, we can see that there is no good reason to deny gay couples the rights that straight
couples have in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no reason why the same cannot happen for homosexual couples. I am sure that many
homosexual couples in the U.S. are better parents than some heterosexual couples. The fact that there
are people that cannot physically have children together does not mean that they have no parental
instincts or would be incapable as parents.
Thus, this argument against homosexual marriages cannot hold in America.
The government of America recognizes marriage as a secular entity, and with homosexual unions we
must make sure that we look at marriage in this way.
Marriage in the eyes of the government consists of a legal license that states that it can look at two
people as one unit. A court of law can perform a marriage, thereby eliminating all religious aspects of
it. So, the government looks at a marriage simply as something that is put in the records.
This decade is the time of the paper marriage. More people sign pre nuptial agreements, make sure
their spouse has a space on their insurance policies, and have their own line on tax forms. While this
seems impersonal
(can you imagine someone proposing with quot; Will you be the answer to line #3a on my 1040 and W

Numbers and legal agreements are gender neutral, so government checks to make

Monuments And Monuments Dbq
From Trajan s Column, completed in 113 AD, to the statue of Christopher Columbus in Easton,
Pennsylvania, monuments and memorials have been a significant element of celebration and honor
throughout history (Source B). Though monuments are typically meant as a symbol of honor, recent
controversy over statues dedicated to Confederate leaders and generals has sparked the debate over
how to choose subjects to memorialize, and the actual development of these memorials. When

Broken Politics And Broken Dreams
Broken Politics Broken Dreams
What is a perfect form of government? What are politics and why do they matter? Now that you have
thought about it, you may have thought this. The perfect government is one that does not internally
fight itself over an opinion on a topic. It serves its citizens faithfully and cares for their thoughts and
opinions. Politics are supposed to influence the government to make it better and to support its
citizens. Politics helps us make a better government. Do you think America fits that description? We
should not because American politics are broken and ineffective at their main purpose.

Some of these systems like separation of powers, checks and balances, federalism, and pluralism, are
dysfunctional and obsolete (Lynn). Most find America s political dysfunction sad and also that
America s entire political system is also just as sad and dysfunctional (Nicholas). This political
dysfunction makes American politics broken and it doesn t help that the key systems in use today just
do not work. Any work that can be done in the government is stalled or impossible to accomplish from
this.
One of these systems, the American political parties, is another key system that has become broken in
its own functions. Both parties have been in America almost since the beginning of our young
Government. Both parties are always at odds with each other and never seem to agree on anything.
Both only agree on one thing though, and it s that of America s wellness. The problem now and days
is that you can t see them actually trying to make any positive difference. The constant bickering and
fighting between these parties stops many positive changes from happening. And now we have to deal
with internal fighting within these parties.
The reason for this internal fighting is from a ununited political party. This is best shown by the
implosion of the republican party. They re blowing up from the inside and don t agree with anything
they want to do. The democrats are not

Value Of Life In To Be Or Not To Be
Value of Life
Considering the value of our own or someone else s life is a difficult topic to talk about considering
the fact that every one views it differently. Some view life as a priceless gift that we as people should
cherish, while others can only see the value of someone s life in dollar signs. Every life is valuable no
matter what you come from, every life has value. Hamlet has pessimistic view on life, which he
consistently shows in his speech To Be or Not to Be. Throughout his speech, he goes back and forth

Although he was going through all of these struggles, he still managed to see the beauty in life. He

Literary Explication Of Shakespeare s Sonnet 130
Literary Explication When thinking of a love poem, one thinks of a cliché description of the speaker s
lover or maybe is an imaginative portrayal of love in a general sense. Love poems always have an
exaggerating characteristic when describing something or someone. Sonnet 130 by William
Shakespeare, is a parody of love poetry; love is not always like it is illustrated in others
contemporaries poems. The author of this sonnet uses the traditional English sonnet form, containing
fourteen lines, written in iambic pentameter, and has an ABABCDCDEFEFGG rhyme scheme. The
sonnet s form is part of the parody because usually love sonnets writers use traditional sonnet forms,
an example for this is Francesco Petrarch that is well known for his love sonnets written in Italian
sonnet form. Shakespeare makes the contradiction between a traditional sonnet form and a non
traditional content of the sonnet. The content of this sonnet, a decretory description of the speaker s
lover, is very opposite to a traditional love poem s content. In the first three quatrains of Sonnet 130 ,
the speaker compares his mistress with various thing and tells us how she doesn t measures up to
them. In the last couplet the speaker changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the poem on a sweet note. By turning the theme he goes from the person who he is mocking other

exogenous visual stimuli while Rafal and his colleagues (1989) propose that IOR occurs through

FOE arises when participants removed from fixation point of a peripheral target, results in faster

Why Do Grades Matter
Do grades matter is a question a student might think about. Grades might seem to matter ever since
kindergarten. Grades might not seem to matter until high school, so students can access college, or
individuals might only matter in college. Grades do matter for the reason that students need to have
excellent grades to access the chance to enter college. Also, students need excellent grades, so students
can access the chance for a job since employers look at an individual s grades to identify if an
individual are adequate for the job. For instance, grades matter if students wish to progress to college.
Universities review individuals GPA to examine if they are fit for the specific college. Therefore,
assuming that an individual is foreseen to proceed into a graduate or medical school; high school and
college grades do affect the outcome. Grades in college in exceedingly in the majority of
circumstances will determine if individuals are chosen. Experienced admission officers say that grades

Marijuana Legalization Essay
Marijuana is safer than tobacco and alcohol, more beneficial and healthier too. Marijuana, unlike
tobacco and alcohol, never causes serious illnesses like cancers of the lungs, throat, and mouth,
cirrhosis, dementia, or anything else. In actuality, medical marijuana is used to treat cancer cells. The
earliest use of cannabis as a medicine is attributed to the legendary Chinese Emperor Shen Nung, who
is thought to have lived around 2700 BC.. Cannabis sativa is thought to have been grown for at least
12,000 years (Pain). If marijuana is better than tobacco and alcohol, why is it not legal? For Texans
looking for an alternative to many addictions and prescriptions, marijuana is the answer! The citizens
of Texas deserve access to marijuana on recreational and medical levels because of the healing
properties for mild to severe health problems, with an incentive of aiding illegal and prescription drug
addiction. Lastly, the taxation of marijuana revenue would bring in millions of dollars to Texas each
year.
Marijuana legalization offers a solution for those suffering from mild to severe illnesses. The benefits
of medical marijuana is undeniable and is the main reason marijuana decriminalization is brought to
the eyes of Americans today. Marijuana is widely accepted as helping with appetite stimulation, sleep
disorders, and chronic pain; therefore, many people can benefit from marijuana (Marijuana (Cannabis
Sativa)). Marijuana, regulated by a doctor, can alleviate symptoms of a

Carson, Illinois At The World s Busiest Corner Between...
Carson, Pirie Scott Building (1899 1904) is also known as Schlesinger Mayer Store which is located
in Chicago, Illinois at The World s Busiest Corner between State and Madison Street. This building
was designed by Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler for the retail firm Schlesinger and Mayer in 1899.
Carson, Pirie Scott Building is quite unusual building compared to other buildings as it continuously
developed overtime (Fig 1). Louis Sullivan considered Schlesinger and Mayer s aspect, giving the
new presence and atmosphere to the store among its neighbours along State Street, of the building that
lead him to design rounded corner entrance according to the site. The Building is surrounded by the
buildings but it stands out definitely. And also, the relation to the other buildings brings the contrasting
atmosphere due to its difference and ornamented exterior. There is three possible entrances to the
building (The main grand entrance and two of the entrances to the office in each side of the street.)
The Chicago Department Store is a Landmark as it stood from the Field Museum of Natural History
also has been a Chicago Landmark since 1975.
The exterior of Carson Pirie Scott Building shows Sullivan s own style with his motif of nineteenth
century architecture were the expression of people s particular way of life. The expression of the
columns and the beams (Fig.2.) were giving architectural function to the building for the office area
especially. By reading up the columns

I Advocate For The Alteration Of Copyright Law
Copyright law is broken. I advocate for the alteration of copyright law as it relates to sampled music.
My argument is this: Anybody should be allowed to use any samples they want, but must give credit
and a portion of the profits made from the work to the sampled musicians. In The Future of Ideas,
Lawrence Lessig puts forth a similar proposal to the one I advocate for, in regards to downloading
music files instead of sampling. Lessig states, Congress should empower file sharing by recognizing a
similar system of compulsory licenses. These fees should not be set by an industry intent on killing
this new mode of distribution. They should be set, as they have always been set by a policy maker
keen on striking a balance. (Lessig 255). For Lessig the altering of copyright is a matter of principle,
one which he corners as uniquely American and even constitutional. [I]t is about the fundamental
values that define this society and whether we will allow those values to change. Are we, in a digital
age, to be a free society? (Lessig 11). Another section reveals an even deeper, almost heartfelt
pleading, in which he defines the true reasons for the war between those for and against changes to
copyright law.
It is about the values of balance and measure that should limit the government s role in choosing the
future of creativity. It is about the opportunity for creators to build on the past. It is about limiting the
control that legal structures such as copyright give to

And memo is one of the tools used for precise and distortion free communication. The topic of our
report is Office Memo: Contrast between Theoretical Concept and Actual Practice . In this report, we
showed the differences as well as the similarities between theoretical concept and actual practice. At
first, we gathered theoretical knowledge about the office memo such as its layout and functions from
several books. Than, we entered into the practical field and collected two samples of office memo and
information about its functions from two renowned organizations. This organizations are 1. Sonali
Bank Limited 2. Social Islami Bank Limited After that, we analyzed both theoretical knowledge and
practical information about memo and contrasted between the two. We mainly focused on the layout
of memo, but also illustrated functions of memo. In case of Sonali Bank Limited, we found that more
elaborate layout of memo are used in communication. This layout is different in many ways from the
theory such as ornamental language is used. But the layout of the memo used by Social Islami Bank is
close to the theory to an extent. But in this organization, memo is used for functions that are different
from the theoretical ones. In our research, we found that every organization does not necessarily
follow the theoretical concept in case of forming and using memo.

Last Four Stages Of Erikson s Psychosocial Development
Introduction
In addition to the beginning stages of life and Erikson s psychosocial development theory, the last four
stages apply to young adulthood and late adulthood. The last four stages of Erikson s psychosocial
stages are adolescence (12 18), young adulthood (19 40), middle adulthood (40 65), and late
adulthood (65 to death). During adolescence, the central crisis of identity vs role confusion occurs. In
young adulthood, intimacy vs isolation begins. Middle adulthood, the central crisis generativity vs
stagnation begins. Lastly, maturity is where ego identity and despair emerges. In this analysis paper,
developmental experiences that contribute to each crisis will be discussed; as well as factors that are

This is where social relationships become vital and contributes to the teenager s identity. Based on the
teenager s environment and support system, it can contribute to whether successful or unsuccessful
resolution will occur during this stage. If the teenager has obtained an identity they are more likely to
stay true to one self. If the teen does not successfully achieve identity this will result in a weak sense
of self (Robbins, Chaterjee, Canda, p.216).
Key factors in achieving identity are having social groups, peers, friends, cliques, etc. Expressions of
one obtaining identity are events such as being confident about their sex role, curiosity in the opposite
sex, tests adult authority, accepting one self, and having plans (Erikson handout, 2017). Although they
have social groups and people who impact their personality, teenagers constantly compare themselves
to others and continue to understand what individuality is. It could be something as simple as wanting
to be different which means being ourselves. This can also help one obtain a sense of identity and
confidence in who they are (Josselson, 1987, p

How Did Sherman s March To The Sea Cut A Swath Of Destruction
Sherman s march to the sea cut a swath of destruction sixty miles wide and two hundred eighty five
miles long from Georgia s industrial hub, Atlanta, to the coastal city of Savannah. During his march
Sherman estimated his forces caused at least one hundred million dollars worth of damage adding up
to a little more than one and a half billion by today s standards. Major General William Tecumseh
Sherman began his military career at the United States Military Academy where he graduated in 1840
as a Second Lieutenant. Once the Civil War broke out he was sent to the Mississippi area where he
quickly distinguished himself and rose through the ranks. He was eventually placed in command of
the forces charged with taking the Mississippi River and gained the respect of Lincoln. This gained
him command of the Army of Tennessee and Georgia with which he was to split the deep south from
the upper south, keeping the Confederate armies busy while Grant swept down from the North.

This created a dreadful economic situation in the South. Without the ability to produce any material
goods they could not export items nor could they keep themselves fed with any real consistency. It did
not help that the slaves freed by Sherman were straining already limited resources and the southerners
hated them. However, this was the case in most of the south Sherman s actions were just a smaller part
of the whole. On a larger scale the industrial destruction contributed to the mass migration of African
Americans from the South to Northern industrial cities. The legacy of Sherman s march to the sea
starting with the burning of Atlanta made the southerners wary and bitter towards the soldiers during
the reconstruction period. There were some lasting effects directly related to Sherman s march, but

The company of my choice is EnQuest PLC, the largest UK independent oil producer in the UK North

industry based on the actual or potential competition through the following five forces: Rivalry
Among Existing Competitors; Threat of New Entrants; Bargaining Power of Buyers; Bargaining
Power of Suppliers; Threat of Substitute Products or Services (Johnson et al., 2014). The framework is
a holistic approach to analysing any industry and is based on the principle that the stronger the five
forces are, the less attractive it is to compete. Hence, high threat of new entrants and substitutes
combined with high bargaining power of buyers and suppliers diminishes industry profitability (Porter
2008). 1.1 Advantages Historically, the Five Forces Framework has

Hitler s New Man
Upon achieving power in 1933, Hitler and the Nazi state began to implement increasingly severe
measures aimed at segregating and ultimately removing the Jewish people from Germany and
eventually all of Europe. Hitler s further achievement was to create the new man. However,
meanwhile the creation of Hitler s new man was giving Germany a sense of destiny, the Jewish life
was being constricted and erased. But what exactly was this idea of a new man? The ultimate attitude
behind this new achievement was to further purify the Aryan race. One of the first steps towards purity
were the Aryan passports, but these were just the beginning of a much broader effort or revolution for
Germans to accept their racial responsibilities. Genetic cultivation ... Show more content on

The second law established who would be granted full political and civic rights and those who would
now be deprived of them. Citizenship rights were to be granted to those who were citizens of the
Reich, which were only individuals classified as being of German or related blood , therefore Jews
were excluded from any and all citizenship rights becoming state subjects, essentially making them
foreigners in their own country. Kristallnacht refers to Jewish pogroms that took place in 1938. These
attacks took place against synagogues, Jewish owned businesses, other Jewish establishments, and
Jewish citizens in general. This was also the start to organized Nazi attacks, and the mass incarceration
of the Jews. There was no clear Instructions on how to execute the violence, so it caused the
destroying of Jewish property and inhumane treatment of Jewish people. Kristallnacht essentially
became the turning point in the Nazis persecution of the Jewish people. It expanded the efforts to
removed Jews from German economics and social life. Kristallnacht and the events that followed
essentially showed the Nazi regime that they can count on the nationwide support of anti Semitism
from the general public. This showed the Nazis that they can easily move forward with their plans

Pathogenesis of LF disease:
There are several important progress have been achieved in understanding of pathogenesis of LF
disease, which primarily based on animal experiments and biopsy from the patients.
Figure: Pathogenesis of LF disease (lymphedema, hydrocele, elephantiasis).
Adapted from Nutman, 2013.
The Filarial worm and their products have direct effect on lymphatic endothelial cells, and cells of

parasite, Wolbachia and other factors contribute to pathogenesis and development of LF disease. The
secondary bacterial infections further complicate the pathology.

Worms produces small reaction when they are alive. However, after death of adult worm, a
granulomatous reaction started (Dreyer et al., 2000; Figueredo Silva et al., 2002)
The host adaptive immune response produces an inflammatory reaction to the death or dying parasites.
The subsequent release of parasite molecules and inflammatory mediators results an irreversible
lymphatics dysfunction. (Figueredo Silva et al., 2002; Nutman, 2013). The lymphatic dysfunction
predispose a suitable environment for secondary bacterial or fungal infection, initiate inflammatory

The role of inflammatory cytokines of innate origin have been shown to have vital role in
pathogenesis of lymphedema. Individuals having chronic LF disease, contain elevated level of pro

An important factor associated with the inflammatory response and increase release of C reactive

teenagers first car seems to have carried throughout the years. Although there s hundreds of types of

to classify an American teenager s first car is into three body types: sedans, coupe, and SUV s. Sedans,
which is a four door automobile, seem to be one of the safest types cars to date; therefore, numerous
parents of teenagers decide to purchase these as first cars for their children. In just this body type,
dozens of different brands exist: Honda, Ford, Toyota, and Chevrolet. Being somewhat small and

When George Bellows painted Swans in Central Park, he captured a single moment in the lives of six
people, but its meaning is so much more than just some Sunday afternoon. The painting is an example
of many characteristics of the human race, what we stand for, and how we want to be remembered
when we are gone.
As James Baldwin put it, The purpose of art is to lay bare the questions which have been hidden by
the answers, and this painting is an expression of love and leisure, of compassion and a genuine
appreciation for nature and humanity. We are a people who enjoy relaxation in the outdoors, social

company s biggest strength as well as being located in a prosperous and developing area. Their
greatest weakness is Rocky s lack of business knowledge because that impacts many areas of the
business negatively. The business s strengths outweigh its weaknesses because the 10 years of built up
reputation and customer loyalty can overcome the weaknesses that are minor in comparison and could
be solved over time. The opportunities are greater than the threats because Rocky and his business
have a lot of areas that can be improved upon and taken advantage of whereas the only threats that the
business face are one current competitor and the prospect of potential competitors in the future.

Slow To Remove Stigma Frank Haynie
Haynie believes the cause of this distorted reporting is due to three main problems: money, The
Bedford Guide for College Writers, 10th edition, includes the article: As Attitudes Shift on PTSD,
Media Slow to Remove Stigma, by Mike Haynie. Haynie, a U.S. Air Force veteran, is also the founder
and executive director of the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, at Syracuse University
(546). In the article, Haynie theorizes some in the media continue to perpetuate a stigma linking
military service to mental illness and violence (547). He reiterates President Bill Clinton s imperative
that Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of. In Haynie s view, the inevitable financially driven
media outlets are the main cause of the continued stigma casting military veterans as criminally
unstable. He views some outlets reporting as being biased toward paper selling. Haynie points out, this

And as we already know that the quantity of inputs to the production process means that an economy
has increase its production potential.
Previously parents had only received tax free help if their employer managed the childcare facility.
The news came as the chancellor announced his twice yearly pre Budget report. This stated that the
government has capped financial support at £50 a week well below the typical cost of £128 a week for
a nursery place According to a recent survey, parents in the UK pay on average £6,650 a year for each
child.
Tax relief on £50 a week childcare spending could benefit millions of employees using registered
childcare. However, tax exemptions will only apply to spending on registered childcare. This stated
shows us how the government protects its people and not letting other people who come in the country
to take advantage of the economy. Many workers who rely on friends and relatives to look after their
children while they are at work will not benefit.
About one in ten employers provide some kind of childcare help to employees.
It is hoped that the tax break will encourage more firms to help out their workers and as a result has
received a warm welcome from childcare charities.

Interactionist Qualia Dualism

Final
In this paper, I will address three propositions that surface in philosophy. The three are: (a) the
physical is causally closed, (b) Mary learns a new fact when she leaves her room, and (c) qualia
causes behavior. With these three theses, one can accept only two of these. I will examine the three
views one gets if accepts two and denies the third. I will specifically argue that qualia causes behavior,
with the view Interactionist qualia dualism is the most plausible of the three views.
With the three theses not all a through c can be true. If you assume any of the two, the third has to be
false. In order to do so, one needs to reject one of these three all which seem plausible. ... Show more

Qualia, such things as sensations like tastes, smells, pains, etc. If one accepts (b) , then qualia are
nonphysical. If one accepts (c), then there is something nonphysical causing something physical
(behavior). We deny (a) because by accepting (c) then something nonphysical is causing behavior.
Therefore, CCP is false. This view is IQD, Interactionist qualia dualism. Qualia causes behavior and
the physical world causes qualia; and qualia are nonphysical.
Someone might think (a) is true because our experience strongly suggests it s true. Someone might
think (b) is true because Mary learns a new fact when she leaves her room and sees something red for
the first time. Someone might think (c) is true because it seems as obvious that qualia affect the way
we behave as whole. I find that qualia causes behavior (IQD) is the most plausible of the three views.
By accepting IQD as the most plausible of the three views, it s safe to argue that qualia causes
behavior and the physical world causes qualia; and qualia are nonphysical. There is a two way
interaction between the physical world and qualia. Things in the physical world causes qualia and
qualia causes states in the physical world, such as behavior. Lastly, qualia are nonphysical. Our mind

  • 2. Water And Sanitation For The Bolivian People Introduction One of the most studied phenomena in political science is how some countries were able to develop into rich nations while some remained underdeveloped and poor. While the answer to this important question is so unique and complex that it may never be answered, there are some policies that may help a country to develop. One of which is the proper use of foreign aid. Bolivia, like many of the counties in Latin America, is considered to be an LDC with its deeply rooted issued of severe poverty. The country receives large amounts of foreign aid, and even with the reception of foreign aid, Bolivia has seen insignificant changes to its developmental level due to the misuse of funds. The USAID has decided to restore ties with Bolivia and grant the country $1 million. In this paper I will suggest that the grant of these funds is to be used to provide clean sources of water and sanitation for the Bolivian people. In the construction of this argument, I will begin with a broad summary of Bolivia s developmental status, along with its nature, and the effect it has on its citizens. Next, I will outline that the channeling of these funds will through NGOs and will go towards the building of water purification and sanitation systems in both urban and rural areas. Third, I will explain why this form of aid is the most effective method that will help Bolivia to overcome its lack of development. I conclude that this particular approach to aiding Bolivia will offer and institute ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Effects of Agriculture on the Environment Essay Effects of Agriculture on the Environment Introduction: Agriculture has changed dramatically, especially since the end of World War II. Food and fibre productivity rose due to new technologies, mechanization, increased chemical use, specialization and government policies that favoured maximizing production. These changes allowed fewer farmers with reduced labour demands to produce the majority of the food and fibre. Humans, like all other species, exploit their surroundings for the resources they need to survive. Our current exploitation of the world, however, is greater than those of most species. There are many reasons for this exploitation but we will focus on one and that is our technology, which is used for various ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It takes up to three hundred years for one inch of agricultural topsoil to form so soil that is lost is essentially irreplaceable. The consequences for long term crop yields have not been sufficiently measured. The amount of erosion varies from one field to another. This depends on the type of soil, the slope of the field, the drainage patterns and the crop management practices. The effects of the erosion vary also. The areas that are better able to sustain erosion without loss of productivity are areas with deep organic loams. This is more sustainable than the areas where topsoil s are shallower. Erosion removes the surface soils, containing most of the organic matter, plant nutrients, and fine soil particles, which help to retain water and nutrients in the root zone where they are available to plants. Thus it affects the productivity of plants. The remaining, the subsoil, tends to be less fertile, less absorbent and less able to retain pesticides, fertilizers, and other plant nutrients. There are over 17,000 soil types recognized worldwide. They vary widely in structure, erodibility, fertility, and ability to produce crops. A generalized soil profile for a humid, temperate climate is showed. When the natural vegetation is cleared for agriculture, soils become exposed to erosion and loss of soil fertility. The removal of the above ground natural ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Violent Crime Issues Violent crime has been a part of history since centuries ago. Early Romans and Greeks witnessed a good rate of crime which lead to development of punishments and written laws such as the Draco s code and later came ethical issues. As the time passed, new laws were created as human nature got creative with crime. Constitutions were laid and documented. The United States constitution was adopted from the English code of laws. Yet the most significant change was the development of police. The role of police has been very questionable in the past years. There has been a lot of tension between community and police. It is very disappointing that despite strong laws and police force heinous crimes still occur. In the past couple years, the major adversarial crime the United States has been dealing with is the mass shootings. Some of the prime examples of such shootings are Sandy hook elementary shooting, San Bernardino shooting, Virginia Tech campus shooting and Orlando, Florida shooting which occurred before the year 2017. Nevertheless, little did we know that the deadliest mass shooting was about to shake the entire nation. Sunday, October 1 2017 was recorded as one of the distressing days in the history of America. The Washington Post states that around 9:40 pm country music singer Jason Aldean began his performance at the annual Las Vegas music festival. This concert was being conducted in an outside venue around 1000 feet from the hotel Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. 20,000 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Time For Designing The Heart Of The Robot Essay After the decisions regarding the body structure, it s the time for designing the heart of the robot. Similar to many RC cars and other mini robot vehicles, using DC motors with a great package of speed reducer gearbox would be the best method to run the vehicle. In this section, I express a brief description of the DC motors and the chosen speed reducer gears, then next chapter would include more details regarding the relation between the motors and the power moves the vehicle with all the accessories. Also, it should be strong enough to supply the enough digging force when supporting the arm. Mabuchi Motor Inc. is one of the major DC motor produces located in Japan. According to the manufacturer s official website, Mabuchi Motor was born and has grown together with a dream, the dreams of children, adults, technicians, and our customers. They have continued to move forward and grow, responding to the hopes of many people. (Ref#4) However, their products couldn t fulfill my needs and I decided to go with another more economic DC motor from RadioShack. (Fig#) Investigating the method to turn the vehicle left or right motivates me to use two of these DC motors simultaneously. One would actuate the right side and the other one controls the left wheels. Aforementioned motor works with 9, 12 and 18V DC power. However, as it will be mentioned more in details later, the power supply contains four 3.7V (total 14.8V) A123 batteries. RadioShack DC motor reaches 24000 RPM with the ... Geographic Distortion Lab Report Project 1: Plotting Coordinates and Projections Patrick Barcaskey pvb5192 Part A: Reference Map Projection Moon Township, PA: 80.2072W 40.5081N Map showing Moon Township, Pennsylvania in a Robinson projection format. This is a Robinson projection that is centered at coordinates 80.2072°W and 0°N. Scales are true at 38°N and S and are equal at all corresponding latitudes that are equal distance from equator. I chose it because it is a good compromise and is easy on the eyes. The amount of distortion is low within 45° of the equator and greater towards the poles. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The standard parallels are 20 and 60 and between these distortion is minimal. This projection would be particularly good as the base of a poverty map because the size of any area on the map is a true proportion to its size on the earth. Poverty rate per 10,000 can be displayed in a dot density map. A dot density shows the concentration of a quality in an area. One dot can represent every 10,000 people. The map will not represent the results correctly if the areas are not in true proportion. Also, if areas are not in the right proportion, countries that are larger will look less dense and countries that are smaller will look too dense. Sources Getty Research Institute (2000). Gang Related Violence Case Study Gang related violence is rising in England and Wales moreover gangs are becoming more aggressive in their attempts to control large parts of cities across the country. Efforts to control their territory are blamed for the rise in gun and knife related crime which has risen by 14 per cent in recent years. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported a 27 per cent increase in all violent crime in 2016. Young people are more likely to carry knives and resort to violent behaviour. What I love about it is that he took the Bible stories and painted them onto the ceiling. Each paint has its own story, and that can speak louder than works at times. As it tells a story, it also tells us a little bit of what his beliefs are. The Bible starts by telling us about Adam and Eve. How Eve took the fruit from the snake and gave it to Adam and then they were ban from the Garden. You will notice a part of the ceiling has that story painted. An extension of this approach is in network aggregation which aggregates data progressively as it is passed through a network. In network data aggregation can reduce the data packet size, the number of data transmissions and the number of nodes involved in gathering data from a WSN. Therefore, in the field of WSNs, privacy preserving data aggregation is becoming a hot issue in WSNs. To address this issue, some protocols have been proposed. In this, they provide a comprehensive summary and comparison of the existing privacy preserving data aggregation protocols for WSNs. WSN is related to privacy preserving data aggregation protocols (Ping et al 2012). In the authors reviewed privacy preserving techniques for protecting two types of private information: data oriented and context oriented privacy. First, authors focuses only on data privacy in order to provide detailed overviews of the existing privacy preserving data aggregation protocols for WSNs (Ping et al 2012). Two main security challenges in secure data aggregation are confidentiality and integrity of data (Sugandhi et al 2013). While traditionally encryption is used to provide end to end confidentiality in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), the aggregators in a secure data aggregation scenario need to decrypt the encrypted data to perform aggregation. Fewer people are going to church than earlier in the century. Many people are marrying without even going to a priest by getting a judge to marry them. Divorce is steadily on the rise. Today s society accepts homosexuals! Now the issue arises over whether we should allow homosexuals to marry. And you know what? It is really none of the government s business. There is no reason why the same cannot happen for homosexual couples. I am sure that many homosexual couples in the U.S. are better parents than some heterosexual couples. The fact that there are people that cannot physically have children together does not mean that they have no parental instincts or would be incapable as parents. Thus, this argument against homosexual marriages cannot hold in America. The government of America recognizes marriage as a secular entity, and with homosexual unions we must make sure that we look at marriage in this way. Marriage in the eyes of the government consists of a legal license that states that it can look at two people as one unit. A court of law can perform a marriage, thereby eliminating all religious aspects of it. So, the government looks at a marriage simply as something that is put in the records. • 17. Literary Explication Of Shakespeare s Sonnet 130 Literary Explication When thinking of a love poem, one thinks of a cliché description of the speaker s lover or maybe is an imaginative portrayal of love in a general sense. Love poems always have an exaggerating characteristic when describing something or someone. Sonnet 130 by William Shakespeare, is a parody of love poetry; love is not always like it is illustrated in others contemporaries poems. The author of this sonnet uses the traditional English sonnet form, containing fourteen lines, written in iambic pentameter, and has an ABABCDCDEFEFGG rhyme scheme. The sonnet s form is part of the parody because usually love sonnets writers use traditional sonnet forms, an example for this is Francesco Petrarch that is well known for his love sonnets written in Italian sonnet form. Shakespeare makes the contradiction between a traditional sonnet form and a non traditional content of the sonnet. The content of this sonnet, a decretory description of the speaker s lover, is very opposite to a traditional love poem s content. IOR Effect Essay exogenous visual stimuli while Rafal and his colleagues (1989) propose that IOR occurs through priming oculomotor system to inhibit preparation of a saccade, which relates more to retinotectal pathway. The Filarial worm and their products have direct effect on lymphatic endothelial cells, and cells of adaptive and innate immune system. Worms produces small reaction when they are alive. However, after death of adult worm, a granulomatous reaction started (Dreyer et al., 2000; Figueredo Silva et al., 2002) The host adaptive immune response produces an inflammatory reaction to the death or dying parasites. The subsequent release of parasite molecules and inflammatory mediators results an irreversible lymphatics dysfunction. (Figueredo Silva et al., 2002; Nutman, 2013). The lymphatic dysfunction predispose a suitable environment for secondary bacterial or fungal infection, initiate inflammatory reaction in the skin and subcutaneous tissue, and enhance progression of lymphedema and precipitate the development of elephantiasis (Nutman, 2013) The role of inflammatory cytokines of innate origin have been shown to have vital role in pathogenesis of lymphedema. Individuals having chronic LF disease, contain elevated level of pro inflammatory cytokines and C reactive protein. An important factor associated with the inflammatory response and increase release of C reactive protein plus vascular endothelial growth factor might be the Wolbachia, an endosymbiotic, intracellular bacteria live in the most filarial nematodes (Pfarr et al., 2009; Nutman, ... The painting is an example of many characteristics of the human race, what we stand for, and how we want to be remembered when we are gone. As James Baldwin put it, The purpose of art is to lay bare the questions which have been hidden by the answers, and this painting is an expression of love and leisure, of compassion and a genuine appreciation for nature and humanity. Slow To Remove Stigma Frank Haynie Haynie believes the cause of this distorted reporting is due to three main problems: money, The Bedford Guide for College Writers, 10th edition, includes the article: As Attitudes Shift on PTSD, Media Slow to Remove Stigma, by Mike Haynie. Haynie, a U.S. Air Force veteran, is also the founder and executive director of the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, at Syracuse University (546). In the article, Haynie theorizes some in the media continue to perpetuate a stigma linking military service to mental illness and violence (547). He reiterates President Bill Clinton s imperative that Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of. In Haynie s view, the inevitable financially driven media outlets are the main cause of the continued stigma casting military veterans as criminally unstable. He views some outlets reporting as being biased toward paper selling. Haynie points out, this [sensationalism] is seen in news articles throughout the country, with some referring to veterans as ticking time bombs (547). The three are: (a) the physical is causally closed, (b) Mary learns a new fact when she leaves her room, and (c) qualia causes behavior. With these three theses, one can accept only two of these. I will examine the three views one gets if accepts two and denies the third. I will specifically argue that qualia causes behavior, with the view Interactionist qualia dualism is the most plausible of the three views. With the three theses not all a through c can be true. If you assume any of the two, the third has to be false. In order to do so, one needs to reject one of these three all which seem plausible. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Qualia, such things as sensations like tastes, smells, pains, etc. If one accepts (b) , then qualia are nonphysical. If one accepts (c), then there is something nonphysical causing something physical (behavior). We deny (a) because by accepting (c) then something nonphysical is causing behavior. Therefore, CCP is false. This view is IQD, Interactionist qualia dualism. Qualia causes behavior and the physical world causes qualia; and qualia are nonphysical. Someone might think (a) is true because our experience strongly suggests it s true. Someone might think (b) is true because Mary learns a new fact when she leaves her room and sees something red for the first time. Someone might think (c) is true because it seems as obvious that qualia affect the way we behave as whole. I find that qualia causes behavior (IQD) is the most plausible of the three views. By accepting IQD as the most plausible of the three views, it s safe to argue that qualia causes behavior and the physical world causes qualia; and qualia are nonphysical. There is a two way interaction between the physical world and qualia. Things in the physical world causes qualia and qualia causes states in the physical world, such as behavior.
