Administrative Foundation Essay
From the Ground Up: Administrative Foundations A positive classroom environment and climate is of
paramount importance to the collective learning experience. A well managed classroom improves
student concentration, increases the effectiveness of instruction, and maximizes learning. A poorly
managed classroom invites interruptions, distractions, and wastes valuable time and resources.
Educators establish the classroom environment through consistent practices, detailed expectations, and
visible leadership. Teachers utilizing positive reinforcement and respectful communication methods
are more likely to gain the respect of their students (Conroy, Sutherland, Snyder, Al Hendawi, and Vo,
2009). Equitable practices and inclusive responses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This culture cultivates participation, collaboration, and praises effort. Expectations must be high,
demonstrated and upheld by all share holders, and clearly communicated to the student body and their
families. Having relocated my family and children 7 times in the last 15 years due to my husband s
military service, I can testify that no two school districts are the same and many are falling short of the
ideal structure described above. Our current school climate is empowering and persuasive! We toured
through colorful thematic hallways brimming with inspirational quotes and positive affirmations. One
bulletin board proudly displayed photos of students undertaking self management jobs around the
campus; a second bulletin board displayed a dream career portrait of every student at the school. Our
decision to enroll in this school was instant! Following enrollment, my children were issued school
pride shirts to wear every Friday as well as instructions to wear college themed apparel every Monday
(promoting the hope for every child to attend the college of their choice.) Every morning the school
day begins with a student led, televised, morning show announcing, Where are we going? We are
going to college! How are we going to get there? 100% everyday, in every way: attendance, behavior,
and classwork! The student body cheers these words in unison; for some children, who

Sarah Koenig s Murder Case
Imagine being in prison for 15 years, convicted for a murder that had extremely little physical and
forensic evidence against you. This was one of the numerous holes and facts that Sarah Koenig
discusses in Serial that doesn t match up in the murder case of Hae Min Lee. On January 13th, 1999, a
seventeen year old student in Baltimore, Hae, disappears after school one afternoon. Her body was
found in Leakin Park on February 9th, 1999, and was manually strangled. Adnan Syed, her ex
boyfriend, was arrested and eventually convicted of murdering her. The unusual aspect about this
murder case is that there are many holes in the story that doesn t make sense. There is not much
physical and real evidence against Adnan, although more of, stories that former classmates and friends

This call occurred about an hour after Hae was murdered and lasted for two minutes. When asked
about this mysterious call, Adnan said that Jay had his phone and car at that time, but thinks that Jay
called or butt dialed her and left a voicemail. Yet, Jay never knew Nisha and Adnan did. Since Nisha
didn t have an answering machine, somebody had to have been talking to her in those 2 minutes.
When Nisha was asked about this in trial, she remembered getting the call in the evening. Although
according to the cell records, the call came in around 3:30. This was the moment where everybody
was speculating and convinced that Adnan did it. However, Koenig and Dana Chivvis found a
loophole in this whole mystery. The loophole states if you call someone and it keeps ringing, but don t
hang up within a reasonable time, AT T will still charge even if the call is unanswered. This loophole
actually still exists today and the supposed unreasonable time is thirty seconds or longer. So this call
could have been, in fact, a butt

Analysis Of Jack Londons For Build A Fire And His Wise...
In Jack Londons To Build A Fire, a stubborn man with no imagination and his wise dog set out on the
Yukon trail seeking out his camp in hopes to return and meet up with the boys. Being a chechaquo, a
new comer to the land (Dictionary.com, 2015), this was his first Winter. It was a clear day and yet
there seemed an intangible pall over the face of things, a subtle gloom that made the day dark, and that
was due to the absence of sun. The face did not worry the man. (London, 629). The newcomer was
entering Winter temperatures in which he knew nothing of, reaching seventy five degrees below zero
and would soon be in a battle of man verses nature. But all this the mysterious, far reaching hair line
trail, the absence of sun from the sky, the tremendous cold, and the strangeness and weirdness of it all
made impression on the man. (London, 629). As the man travels on through the freezing temperatures
he is remind of advice from and old wise man, he had been warned of traveling alone and the dangers
that could come with someone making such decisions. The traveler was hopeful of making it back to
camp by six o clock, and an hour into his travels he is ready to stop and eat his lunch with pride in his
traveling progress. However, an hour into his travels the arrogant man was more concerned with
chewing his tobacco, than thinking of potential dangers despite his warnings, so he stopped for lunch,
never sharing with his only traveling companion, his loyal dog.

Case Study Of Risk Analysis On Aviation Security
1. Travelling by air is one of the most common forms of transportation to get to overseas destinations
and Singapore Changi Airport is the sixth busiest international airport today. As a major air hub in
Asia, Changi Airport handled more than 51.2 million passengers in 2012 and this makes it a legitimate
target in the eyes of terrorists and other forms of crime because of the number of people located in a
particular location.
2. Aviation Security mitigates the threats and potentially dangerous situation arising from terrorist
attacks or crimes from happening. As such, aviation security is paramount to safeguard the airport,

The practical value of a risk analysis on key assets depends on the knowledge and completeness with
which the risks are identified. A good analysis requires that the all aspects of the asset be examined to
isolate those conditions, circumstances, activities, and relationships that affect the asset. To effectively
analyze threats against key assets, it is necessary to consider as many of the potential threats as
possible. This requires some in depth knowledge of the asset. Below are a few factors that are
important to organizational assets:
 Physical environment of the asset
 Numbers and capabilities of the attackers
 Telecommunications associated with the asset
 Contingency and Disaster Recovery plans for the asset
 Attractiveness of the asset to attack
13. Knowing that threats can occur within an organization and its many environments and disciplines
will help in determining what threats will affect the asset and what is the likelihood of an attack
occurring. It will also help in determining the consequence or impact of a threat. To help understand
threats and their impact on assets, a mapping of threats with impact is necessary. The following five
impact categories list threats, both direct and indirect may have an impact.
Threats Probability Impact Consequences

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Polony
LITERATURE REVIEW 2.0 Introduction Many varieties of Polony products are available on both the
South African and the Zimbabwean market. They include chicken, beef, garlic and lamb Polony. The
factor mostly responsible for the popularity of polonies is the consumer demand and the availability of
convenient and unique flavors (Aberle et al., 2001; Hui et al., 2001). Polony falls in the class of
convenient foods because it is already cooked and requires no further preparation in order to eat
it,hence it is mostly popular amongst the working classes (Estes et al., 1982). Product development

hedonic scale. From a sensory perspective, the 9 point hedonic scale is more useful because it
provides a measure of preference for each product, the magnitude of the difference in liking among
the products and enables use of parametric statistics such as the analysis of variance to identify
significant product differences. Overall it is a more efficient methodology enabling one to test
multiple products vs multiple paired comparisons, (Sidel et al.,2007). Procedure: 1. Prepare the food

The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow
Throughout the United States, the story of the Headless Horseman, described in The Legend of Sleepy
Hollow is well known in American folklore. It is a scary story that many children tell around the
campfire in an attempt to scare one another, saying that if someone is not careful, the Headless
Horseman will come for them. However, many Americans do not realize that this legend originated
from a story that appears in Washington Irving s book, The Sketchbook of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent.
Washington Irving was born to a Scottish immigrant family on April 3, 1783, in New York City. Later
that year, The Treaty of Paris was signed, signaling that America had at long last won her
independence from Great Britain (Irving, Norberg, and Stade iii). From that point on, the United
States of America began the journey to find an identity to call its own. Before, when these people were
a colony of Great Britain, they identified themselves as a part of the greatest empire on Earth.
However, by the time of the Revolution many of the colonists were questioning their identity and
position within the British Empire. Through gaining their freedom, this new nation was able to create
a new identity, generating what was thought to be a purely American culture. Living through this time
of change, Washington Irving wrote about the emerging society from a critical standpoint. Although
Irving lived through the times of change, he was critical of how these changes, specifically those of
capitalism and

The Car T Cells Essay
What are CAR T cells? Describe their structure.
Car T cells are more formally known as chimeric antigen receptors. These cells are genetically
modified t cells that are designed to target tumor cells. These CAR t cells work by circulating through
the blood looking for cells that they can bind to. The receptors of these cells are specifically designed
to recognize a pattern that is common cancer. Once they cell comes into contact with the specific
receptor, cell will then attack and destroy the cancer, but also can tell the rest of the body that there is
a problem. The additional hope is that the CAR T cells will create memory cells within the body as a
normal T cell. In the simplest explanation, CAR T cells are genetically modified to attack cells the
body would otherwise not recognize.
These cells are recombinant receptors that have been developed specifically for this purpose. These
CARs are usually composed of an extracellular antigen recognition receptor that is attached by a
spacer to a transmembrane domain. Around these transmembrane domains could be additional
domains that function as co stimulator to produce a further immune response. In a normal t cell, there
is a requirement of an MHC molecule to bind and recognize the antigen, however, the CAR T cells are
capable of overcoming the limitation. So CAR T cells are able to bind directly and independent of this
system allowing the cell to read a much diverse pool.
How are they generated for clinical use?
These cells

Nt1210 Basic Service Set
Wireless LANs have expanded greatly and rapidly in recent years. The expansio¬¬¬¬¬n has caused
many benefits to the end users but at the same time it has introduced problem of overlapping BSS
(Basic Service Set) where BSS (i.e. WLAN cells) is fundamental block of IEEE 802.11 WLAN
architecture. OBSS occurs due to two or more unrelated BSSs are used at the same place, at the same
time and with the same frequency channel. With the expansion of channel bandwidth to 80 MHz (may
be, 160 MHz) in upcoming standards, the OBSS problem is likely to be very severe in the future. This
paper examines how OBSS can be harmful to the networks and how it can be avoided using beam
forming, distributed coordination across different APs, and power management. ... Show more content

The problem becomes intense when there are many OBSS using the same channel. The wide range
WLAN usage has caused tragedy of commons problem especially at public places. OBSS cause
problems such as low efficiency, higher congestion and low data rate. OBSS is a problem for 802.11
when it is intended to use for applications which require QoS. EDCA does not solve this problem as it
does not require other BSSs to coordinate. Admission control only solves bandwidth allocation
problem within a single network and does not address OBSS [2]. POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS A
number of solutions have been recommended in the past up to today to reduce potential interference
due to OBSS problem. Frequency channel assignment can be a solution where BSS, during initial
setup, scans the area to avoid channels that are already being used at other BSSs in the same area [1].
This solution can be useful only if the network has been carefully designed. Second solution can be
dynamic channel switching. Channel switching has the same concept like frequency channel
assignment but it periodically checks for any OBSS situation. If an AP detects other BSS on the same
channel then it will switch to different channel. A third solution can be falling back to narrow band
mode when two BSSs operate on the same channel [1]. So, if two BSSs found to be operating on same
80 MHz channel (in case of 802.11ac), they both can fall back to two different 40

The Role Of Confucian Business Ethics And The Economy
Confucian Ethics has a big role in the government as well as in the economy of different crucial stages

economy. By this study it proved that the morals and ethics of Confucius should be applied in a macro

I agree on his statement that, The great man regards Heaven and Earth and the myriad things as one
body. He regards the world as one family and the country as one person. As to those who make a

man can regard Heaven, Earth and the myriad things as one body is not because he deliberately wants
to do so, but because it is natural to the human nature of his mind that he do so. a leader should unite
everyone as one and treat his people as one. The Reformist Confucian s economy ad Modern

A Study On Genetic Diseases
In the late 1900s, scientists were able to describe a rare congenital genetic disease called 1p36 for the
first time. Later, in 2001, a girl named Sonia was born; two weeks after her birth, she had heart failure
and her parents had to take her to the hospital due to low vital signs. That was the first time doctors
noticed that there was something wrong with her. A couple of days later, they realized that not only her
heart wasn t functioning properly, but she had low muscle tone, and seizures. All of these symptoms
gave doctors enough reasons to believe that it was a syndrome. Today, Sonia lives and I m proud to
say that she is my cousin. Learning about genetic diseases during my undergraduate journey, I was
able to relate her story and until this day I m still fascinated by the absolute profoundness and
complexities of medicine. Thus, I have resolved to dedicate my lifetime to become a doctor not only
for my own professional and personal evolution, but also to guide and mentor others.
Throughout my life, I had the opportunity to live fulfilling experiences that helped me confirm my
desire to be a doctor. I was fortunate to participate as a volunteer, at Nicklaus Children s Hospital
working in the emergency room, where I saw and experienced different cases as simple as a flu, and as
difficult as intensive care cases, such as heart transplant. There is one particular day which stayed

Seawater Desalination In California
California used to depend on surface water but once we started to see that surface water was depleting,
we went straight to groundwater. After many years groundwater has also started to disappear leaving
the question what are we going to do next? . This problem is causing the land of california to sink,
make the next drought we are going to have even worse, using most of the groundwater we have left
faster than it can get filled back up again, and ect. Therefore, the state of California should conserve
more groundwater by lowering the maximum capacity of pumping extractions, recycling water to fill
aquifers back up, and seawater desalination. One main way to conserve more groundwater is to lower
the maximum capacity of pumping extractions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We should be trying our best to help with these solutions because; one of the solutions are: lowering
the maximum capacity of pumping extractions helps save more water in aquifers, because right now
anyone can pump out a much water as they would like, and that is not helping with our drought.
Another solution is; recycling more water to fill aquifers back up because land has been sinking, and
also since we keep on pumping out water and not letting rain and snow melt to fill them back for us, it
will take about 5o years to fill back up, from the rate of pumping out the groundwater. The next
solution is; seawater desalination and one way seawater desalination could work for us is because we
do not have lots of water but we do have lots of oil and the process to clean the water is with lots of oil
to get a lot more water than we have now. So we should be conserving more water because it could
help the state of california, stop the land from sinking anymore, save up more water for the next
drought , and just help the people in the state of California more water so we do not ever run out or

Tobin s Preschool In Three Cultures
Introduction:
In each of the three preschools presented in Tobin s videos for the revisited Preschool in Three
Cultures , cultural values were passed on to students by both teachers and administrators. Due to the
cultural differences existing between China, Japan, and the United States, the roles of preschools in
each community and the way the children were socialized differed. This observation can be tied back
to the information presented in Chapter 2. In all three classrooms, students were engaged in structured
participation, mirrored adults, and engaged in routines/play, however the lessons taught in each class
differed based on the cultural ideals of the country. Like Vygotsky s theory stated, while the guidance

surrounding the abilities of older adults and their capabilities exist within American culture. The
individualistic tendencies of American culture are then further emphasized when the person tasked
with caring for an older adult are from a low socioeconomic community. In our readings, the harsh
contrasts between Anglo Americans and Latino Americans were emphasized. Although there are
cultural differences that exist within these two groups, the larger issue, I believe comes down to
socioeconomic status. It was stated that 20% of Latino American elders have incomes below the
poverty line, due to a combination of lower education levels, low paying jobs, and a lack of private
pensions. Ultimately, this leads to further discrimination. Not only are these individuals not meeting

The Attack By Yasmina Khadra
There is no denying that violence can impact a person in harmful ways, however, that is not always

Deborah Tannen s I Only Say This Because I Love You, And...
Introduction Interpersonal conflicts are inevitable. Different texts suggest not how to avoid conflict,
but rather how to effectively communicate when involved in one. However, the rules of constructive
communication can completely change in conflicts between people in long term, interdependent
relationships. This paper will focus on analyzing a conversation between a mother and her adult son,
while applying ideas from William Wilmot and Joyce Hocker s Interpersonal Conflict, Deborah

He does so in a way that is assertive rather than aggressive. Instead of aggressively pushing his
thoughts onto Dianne without explanation, Earl works towards achieving his desired goals by openly
expressing his frustration as a response to his mother s commands. In conjunction with his dominant
conflict style, he threatens, the more you tell me to, the more I won t, which qualifies as a threat,
because it meets the two required criteria. First, the source of the threat must control the outcome. Earl
controls the outcome of the situation since he has the ability to either obey or disobey Dianne.
Secondly, the threat must be seen as negative by the recipient. In this case, the recipient Dianne sees
the condition of Earl s comment as negative since she will not get her way (Wilmot and Hocker, 159).
Earl uses the threat in an attempt to put an end to his mother s current and future demands. However,
the use of a threat begs the question, what is gained? Although Earl solves his immediate issue of
changing the sheets at his own convenience, he risks leaving the bigger problem unresolved and
damaging the relationship with his mother (Wilmot and Hocker, 160). After this one instance, Dianne

However, the use of technology isn t always bad. One positive effect of using technology while trying

technology for other things that they hurt themselves. While some bad habits of teens can harm your
sleep, some behaviors can make your sleep better. Teens are negatively affected by their use of
technology at night. When you use your electronic devices at night you are risking your sleep. When
teens use their electronics at night the stay up because of, the blue light emitted by screens on cell

Jfk Assassination Theory
John F. Kennedy was only the fourth president to die by assassination in a nation that was less than
200 years old(Betsy). There are three theories that this essay will explore.Thyat the CIA played a part
in planning the assassination another one is that Lee Harvey Oswald was a CIA agent at the time and
the theory that Cuba was behind the assassination. In the history books and the knowledge in
everybody s head is that Lee Harvey Oswald was a lone shooter, but in the rest of this essay you`ll see
that there are many more possible versions for what happened. But one thing for sure is that JFK died
at the hands of somebody. On November 22, 1963, John F. Kennedy was on his way to speak at a
luncheon. As the car turned off Main Street at Dealey Plaza ,people heard gunfire coming from the
Texas School Book Depository. People watched in horror as the president was shot in the neck and
head (Death of a President). Just a few minutes later, the car arrived at Parkland Memorial hospital, ...

After the Bay of Pigs incident people suspected Cuba of being behind the assassination, but Fidel
Castro wanted to make sure he wasn t blamed, so he made a statement saying that this is absurd and
nobody under his control had any ideas of organizing the death of the president of the United States
and if he had heard of the plan he would ve put a stop to it (Watkins). There is no evidence proving
that Lee Harvey Oswald had any connection with Cuba when he committed the assassination of JFK.
The only evidence to prove this theory is that he tried to get a visa to go to Cuba, but he was allegedly
rejected because the government thought he was an undercover provocateur. (Lewis). There are many
different theories as to what happened, but many people believe that the attempt would have had to
come from a close source if they knew exactly when the best time that they can shoot and fatally hit

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Juniot Diaz
In the novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Juniot Diaz you start to notice a cultural
gender role and how there is certain expectations of them. The novel is based on a young boy named
Oscar Wao and the hardships that one event has caused to an entire family. Even though the novel is
focused on Oscar the author always went back to his sister and his mother. The author described the
women as real, strong women, even though they were being filtered through a somewhat distorted
male point of view (Stevenson 1). These two women play an important roll in this novel, they
ultimately don t show the cultural gender role and what is expected from them. All the important
female rolls in Oscars life are independent and strong women but they all have one thing in common,
being mistreated by men. Women s history led to the historical study of gender. Gender includes the
behavior, manners, morals, speech, and emotions expected of men and women because of their sex.
Historians of gender have analyzed many characteristics of masculine and feminine behavior in
relation to social stereotypes and economic power. The historians studies have provided a means to
understand a wide range of social behavior from attitudes about sex to economic inequality in terms of
social conventions of gender (Partner 1). This is a common factor in the novel The Brief Life of Oscar
Wao by Diaz, he shows how the Dominican culture views their women and how they aren t always
respected.

Lower Body Research Paper
The lower body is made up of a variety of muscles, including the largest or the gluteus maximus. The
gluteus maximus is the most visible gluteal muscle, but there are two smaller muscles underneath it:
the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus. The glutes are responsible for hip movements, such as
extension, rotation and abduction (moving the thigh away from the body). It s also heavily involved in
that dance many of us have tried shaking your booty.
Below the glutes and on the back of the thighs are the hamstrings, which include three different
muscles: The biceps femoris, the semitendinosus and the semimembranosus. The hamstrings work to
bring the heel toward the butt (knee flexion) and to move the leg backward (hip extensions).
The quadriceps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Working these muscles means you ll not only build strength and lean muscle tissue, but you ll also
burn more calories. Strong legs will also make daily activities easier and help protect you from injury.
How Often Should You Train Your Lower Body?
Like all muscles in your body, you can perform lower body exercises up to three nonconsecutive days
a week. If you re lifting heavy weights (enough that you can only complete six to eight repetitions),
you ll need two or more days of rest before you perform the exercise again. For this reason, you might
only work your lower body once or twice a week. If your goal is endurance and strength, stick with 1
to 3 sets of 12 to 16 repetitions and at least one day of rest before you perform the exercises again.
What Exercises Should You Do?
The most common exercises for the butt, hips and thighs are squats, lunges and deadlifts. Try to
include a variety of exercises that target all the lower body muscles for a well rounded routine. These
lower body exercises offer a variety of options for working your butt, hips and

What Is The Schlieffen Plan
This paper will examine and discuss the German Schlieffen Plan utilized during World War I. The
Schlieffen Plan was designed by Chief of the General Staff of the German Army Alfred von
Schlieffen, as a strategy for invading France, while also holding off Russia. Schlieffen wanted the
attack to be a swift and decisive strike to ensure that France would capitulate quickly, allowing
Germany to send their forces on the French front over to the Russian front, combining their armies
into one force that could then invade Russia. One of the main points of the strategy, was that Germany
would go through Belgium and attack France where it was weaker, instead of the Maginot Line, which
was heavily fortified. The army would then sweep around and take Paris.

Mad Scientists and Mad Elements Essay
We all know the saying, Don t judge a book by it s cover. Similarly, every element in the periodic
table has its own story and its own unique meaning. However, the average high schooler simply
associates these elements as something used in their chemistry classes. In fact, the elements seen on
the periodic table actually have much more to do in our daily lives and in history than most people
know. While giving a whole new perspective to the meaning of Chemistry, author Sam Kean
successfully recounts the hidden tales through humor and wit in his bestselling novel The
Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the
Periodic Table of Elements. Specifically, Chapter 15, An Element of ... Show more content on

Roentgen performed many tests, including his colleagues discoveries, which involved painting the
plates with a barium compound. When the plates were held in front of an object, Roentgen was able to
see through whatever he was holding up. Inevitably, he was astonished by this discovery and
immediately suspected that he had gone mad. As readers now, one finds his reaction to the first traces
of x ray quite humorous. In fact, this tale is certainly one where the ending is not detrimental, and in
contrary the happy opposite. Essentially, Kean focuses on the idea that these certain elements
mentioned in the chapter affected the lives of these mad scientists immensely. For the most part, these
elements hurt the careers and lives of some scientists, however this was not the case in all of the
stories in this chapter. The examples of selenium crazed Crookes, the false hype of the manganese
covered megadaltons, the palladium scandal of Pons and Fleischmann and the startling discovery of
the x ray by Roentgen successfully conveyed the central theme and concepts. It is very easy for
someone to understand the context filled stories and how they connect to what Kean is trying to
establish. Additionally, the author generally maintains a balanced bias throughout the chapter.
However, with the story of Pons and Fleischmann, one can really sense Kean s negative attitude to
these two scientists. He describes the pair as impostors, swindlers, and cheats (263) as well as

Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Analysis
Next month marks the 20th anniversary of the debut record from Wu Tang Clan member Raekwon.
Released August 1rst, 1999, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... was released through Loud Records, and
quickly became heralded as a classic. While it s commercial performance couldn t match the likes of
fellows Clan members Method Man and Ol Dirty Bastard, the album proved hugely influential on a
plethora of New York based rappers, and has become considered one of the best rap records of the 90s.
It s an album that s legacy has carried out for hip hop heads for two decades, and it s power could
certainly be felt with the devoted anticipation that surrounded the release of its 2009 sequel album
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. 2 (despite it being considerably inferior). ... Show more content on

The rapping on it was saturated by oblique slang, the production leaned more towards being eerie than
invigorating, and the mafioso themes in it were derivative of Kool G Rap s. Also, many were confused
as to why it was called a solo album, as fellow Wu Tang member Ghostface Killah was featured on the
majority of the album s tracks. Raekwon, who beforehand was probably best known for contributing
the first verse on C.R.E.A.M. , certainly wasn t concerned with accessibility for his first solo outing,
and instead wanted to make a cinematic mobster masterpiece. He even explained that the title was a
reference to the chains they used to sport during that era, and was a warning of its musical potency to
those not prepared for the uncut raw contained

In A Gate At The Stairs Character Analysis
The Similarity of Two Different Lives Sometimes we question ourselves; do we ever really come to
age? Or do we just stay the same all our lives? In a Gate at the Stairs, Moore creates a character
named Tassie who overcomes plenty of coming of age moments by being, strong, worried, and
curious. A naïve character can get through a lot of barriers with strength, and Tassie has all these
character traits. Tassie lives in a world where she has to put her life on hold and care for a child in a
different family, just like how I have to put my family on hold and deal with school, swimming, and
balancing money. Though, I am only an eighteen year old and Tassie is a twenty year old, we are kind
of like the same person. The two of us try to overcome every obstacle with using our senses and with
our characteristics and in order to do this you have to grow up and become the person who makes the
best out of you. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is faced with plenty of obstacles but I think her going through a tough process with Sarah who is a
women she wants to nanny for is trying to adopt a baby throughout the first half of A Gate at the Stairs
and it doesn t go well for about three times. Moore does a great way in describing the moment of
every mother walking into an adoption agency, such as the awkwardness, nervousness and
worriedness a mother has walking into the agency and trying to buy a baby. Tassie is brought to all the
meetings so the birth mother can get an idea of who will be taking care of her baby when Sarah
cannot, and she is nervous but you have to get over it sometimes, you have to be that strong wall
keeping Sarah up straight and relaxed. The next question is do we ever really come of age as a

Medicines Co Marketing
The Medicines Company Case Write Up: Terence Cho, Felipe Duarte, Aleks Loiko, Robert Shaw, and
James Wang
Section 4, Group 10
Medicines Company s drug, Angiomax, outperforms Heparin, but incurs significantly higher costs to
produce, making the drug difficult to attractively price. This difficulty in pricing stems from a poor
positioning strategy for Angiomax which does not maximize the perceived value (PV) that the drug
provides to its key customer segments. Therefore, Medicines Co., must develop a positioning strategy
that maximizes the perceived value of Angiomax. Medicines Co. must first determine the critical
characteristics its key customer segments (doctors, hospital administrators, and pharmacists) value in
an anticoagulant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
to price Angiomax between $139 and $391. We recommend a halfway price of $265. This incentivizes
doctors and, indirectly, hospital administrators to purchase the drug since this price is lower than the
PV created by this positioning strategy.
Implementing this solution requires additional considerations. First, Medicines Co. needs to
thoroughly train its representatives on the cost savings and risks of complication statistics that show
the significant effectiveness of Angiomax over Heparin for high risk patients. This is critical for their
interactions with doctors. Second, Medicines Co needs to allocate additional marketing budgeting to
demonstrate that Angiomax is a more effective treatment for high risk patients and not simply an
alternative to Heparin. Finally, since Angiomax is close to being approved for heart attacks, the
marketing team should perform another analysis of the marketing framework and budget more
marketing to highlight the effectiveness of Angiomax in treating heart attacks over Heparin.

Peanut Butter And Jelley Sandwich
How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich can be
quite simple. Depending on how the tasks are completed, of course. The first step is to find an area
with plenty of space to create the sandwich, preferably a counter. The next step is to locate and gather
the needed supplies. These supplies can be found in any local grocery store. Which include; a loaf of
bread, a peanut butter jar, a jar of jelly, a plate, and a butter knife (use any brand/kind). Once all
materials are set out for easy reach/using, open the bag of bread. To do that, grab one end of the twist
tie (located at the front end of the bag of bread) with any hand, and take the other end of the twist tie

Drug Trafficking Papers
Drug Trafficking
Drug trafficking is the production of drugs done illegally that violate the drug prohibition laws.
Throughout the years, drug trafficking has been progressing and expanding to the point to where it is
now worldwide. Organizations involved in drug trafficking have been improving their networks,
constantly upgrading their transportation and equipment, having new methods to transport the drugs
and communication throughout the system, and finding information on their employees to use against
them which makes it harder for law enforcement to keep up and take action to reduce the problem of
drug trafficking.
The illegal transportation of drugs started to become serious whenever the Medellin Cartel began to
dominate the cocaine business. The Medellin Cartel was ran by the Ochoa Vazquez brothers Jorge
Luis, Juan David, and Fabio; Pablo Escobar, Carlos Lehder, George Jung, and Jose Gonzalo
Rodriguez Gacha. In 1975, the Colombian police found 600 kilos of cocaine stashed in a plane. Drug
traffickers responded to the police by killing 40 people in one weekend which is known as the
Medellin Massacre. The massacre led to the uprising of various killings, assassinations, kidnappings,
and the discovery of a hit list that contained U.S. businessmen, embassy members, and their families.
It was then when violence was beginning to grow in Miami and drug traffickers were involved, that

ABSTRACT: Digital Watermarking is a technology which is used to identify the owner, distributor of
a given image. In recent years, digital watermarking plays a vital role in providing the appropriate
solution and various researches have been carried out. In this paper, an extensive review of the
literature related to the color image watermarking is presented together with compression by utilizing
an assortment of techniques. The proposed method should provide better security while transferring
the data or messages from one end to the other end. The main objective of the paper is to hide the
message or a secret data into an image which acts as a carrier file having secret data and to transmit to
the intention securely. The watermark can be extracted with minimum error. In terms of PSNR, the
visual quality of the watermarked image is exceptional. The proposed algorithm is robust to many
image attacks and suitable for copyright protection applications.
KEYWORDS: Watermarking, Discrete wavelet transform, Discrete Cosine Transform, PSNR, MSE.

One project management software that is out on the market...
One project management software that is out on the market today is called activeCollab . This
software brings together aspects from email, spreadsheets, and databases. One thing that activeCallab
can do that a spreadsheet may not be able to provide you with, is the ability to generate an invoice for
your client based off the data from the project. With this feature it will save a person the time of
manually inputting information, which could lead to input error. Another invoice feature is the ability
to create time entries, so a person may want to bill by days instead of hours, well simply enough
activeCollab can do that for a user. Unlike a spreadsheet, the program also can tell a user the status of
a payment such as if it is pending, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally a last key feature is an interface that lets you work with a client on negotiations of a project.
Another great product that is out is known as AtTask . This software gives you an enterprise work
cloud environment. Some features that are included in this software is the ability to view all work
requests in one area and compare them. By doing this it gives a person the advantage of looking over
all requests and looking at them side by side instead of flipping back and forth through pages. It has
the stand features of tracking the time of a project and comparing the planned time vs. the actual time
spent. Unlike activeCollab, this software has the ability to customize a dashboard, this could include
the projects that you are currently working on, with up to date notifications and reports. This
dashboard can also be transferred over to an Ipad so you can view the project on the go. An additional
feature to this product is uploading different types of documents for your team members to view and
store. The documents can be organized, shared, reviewed, and eventually approved/disapproved.
Along with the different features that AtTask provides it also has many other software integrations
such as the use of Outlook to collaborate with your fellow team members. For document sharing it

  • 2. Administrative Foundation Essay From the Ground Up: Administrative Foundations A positive classroom environment and climate is of paramount importance to the collective learning experience. A well managed classroom improves student concentration, increases the effectiveness of instruction, and maximizes learning. A poorly managed classroom invites interruptions, distractions, and wastes valuable time and resources. Educators establish the classroom environment through consistent practices, detailed expectations, and visible leadership. Teachers utilizing positive reinforcement and respectful communication methods are more likely to gain the respect of their students (Conroy, Sutherland, Snyder, Al Hendawi, and Vo, 2009). Expectations must be high, demonstrated and upheld by all share holders, and clearly communicated to the student body and their families. Having relocated my family and children 7 times in the last 15 years due to my husband s military service, I can testify that no two school districts are the same and many are falling short of the ideal structure described above. Our current school climate is empowering and persuasive! We toured through colorful thematic hallways brimming with inspirational quotes and positive affirmations. One bulletin board proudly displayed photos of students undertaking self management jobs around the campus; a second bulletin board displayed a dream career portrait of every student at the school. Our decision to enroll in this school was instant! Following enrollment, my children were issued school pride shirts to wear every Friday as well as instructions to wear college themed apparel every Monday (promoting the hope for every child to attend the college of their choice.) Every morning the school day begins with a student led, televised, morning show announcing, Where are we going? We are going to college! How are we going to get there? 100% everyday, in every way: attendance, behavior, and classwork! The student body cheers these words in unison; for some children, who ... This was one of the numerous holes and facts that Sarah Koenig discusses in Serial that doesn t match up in the murder case of Hae Min Lee. On January 13th, 1999, a seventeen year old student in Baltimore, Hae, disappears after school one afternoon. Her body was found in Leakin Park on February 9th, 1999, and was manually strangled. Yet, Jay never knew Nisha and Adnan did. Since Nisha didn t have an answering machine, somebody had to have been talking to her in those 2 minutes. When Nisha was asked about this in trial, she remembered getting the call in the evening. Although according to the cell records, the call came in around 3:30. This was the moment where everybody was speculating and convinced that Adnan did it. However, Koenig and Dana Chivvis found a loophole in this whole mystery. The loophole states if you call someone and it keeps ringing, but don t hang up within a reasonable time, AT T will still charge even if the call is unanswered. This loophole actually still exists today and the supposed unreasonable time is thirty seconds or longer. So this call could have been, in fact, a butt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Jack Londons To Build A Fire, a stubborn man with no imagination and his wise dog set out on the Yukon trail seeking out his camp in hopes to return and meet up with the boys. Being a chechaquo, a new comer to the land (Dictionary.com, 2015), this was his first Winter. It was a clear day and yet there seemed an intangible pall over the face of things, a subtle gloom that made the day dark, and that was due to the absence of sun. The face did not worry the man. (London, 629). The newcomer was entering Winter temperatures in which he knew nothing of, reaching seventy five degrees below zero and would soon be in a battle of man verses nature. But all this the mysterious, far reaching hair line trail, the absence of sun from the sky, the tremendous cold, and the strangeness and weirdness of it all made impression on the man. (London, 629). As the man travels on through the freezing temperatures he is remind of advice from and old wise man, he had been warned of traveling alone and the dangers that could come with someone making such decisions. The traveler was hopeful of making it back to camp by six o clock, and an hour into his travels he is ready to stop and eat his lunch with pride in his traveling progress. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The practical value of a risk analysis on key assets depends on the knowledge and completeness with which the risks are identified. A good analysis requires that the all aspects of the asset be examined to isolate those conditions, circumstances, activities, and relationships that affect the asset. To effectively analyze threats against key assets, it is necessary to consider as many of the potential threats as possible. This requires some in depth knowledge of the asset. Below are a few factors that are important to organizational assets:  Physical environment of the asset  Numbers and capabilities of the attackers  Telecommunications associated with the asset  Contingency and Disaster Recovery plans for the asset  Attractiveness of the asset to attack 13. Knowing that threats can occur within an organization and its many environments and disciplines will help in determining what threats will affect the asset and what is the likelihood of an attack occurring. It will also help in determining the consequence or impact of a threat. To help understand threats and their impact on assets, a mapping of threats with impact is necessary. They include chicken, beef, garlic and lamb Polony. The factor mostly responsible for the popularity of polonies is the consumer demand and the availability of convenient and unique flavors (Aberle et al., 2001; Hui et al., 2001). Polony falls in the class of convenient foods because it is already cooked and requires no further preparation in order to eat it,hence it is mostly popular amongst the working classes (Estes et al., 1982). • 8. The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow Throughout the United States, the story of the Headless Horseman, described in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is well known in American folklore. It is a scary story that many children tell around the campfire in an attempt to scare one another, saying that if someone is not careful, the Headless Horseman will come for them. However, many Americans do not realize that this legend originated from a story that appears in Washington Irving s book, The Sketchbook of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent. Washington Irving was born to a Scottish immigrant family on April 3, 1783, in New York City. Later that year, The Treaty of Paris was signed, signaling that America had at long last won her independence from Great Britain (Irving, Norberg, and Stade iii). From that point on, the United States of America began the journey to find an identity to call its own. Before, when these people were a colony of Great Britain, they identified themselves as a part of the greatest empire on Earth. However, by the time of the Revolution many of the colonists were questioning their identity and position within the British Empire. Through gaining their freedom, this new nation was able to create a new identity, generating what was thought to be a purely American culture. Living through this time of change, Washington Irving wrote about the emerging society from a critical standpoint. Although Irving lived through the times of change, he was critical of how these changes, specifically those of capitalism and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Car T Cells Essay What are CAR T cells? Describe their structure. Car T cells are more formally known as chimeric antigen receptors. These cells are genetically modified t cells that are designed to target tumor cells. These CAR t cells work by circulating through the blood looking for cells that they can bind to. The receptors of these cells are specifically designed to recognize a pattern that is common cancer. Once they cell comes into contact with the specific receptor, cell will then attack and destroy the cancer, but also can tell the rest of the body that there is a problem. The additional hope is that the CAR T cells will create memory cells within the body as a normal T cell. In the simplest explanation, CAR T cells are genetically modified to attack cells the body would otherwise not recognize. These cells are recombinant receptors that have been developed specifically for this purpose. These CARs are usually composed of an extracellular antigen recognition receptor that is attached by a spacer to a transmembrane domain. Around these transmembrane domains could be additional domains that function as co stimulator to produce a further immune response. In a normal t cell, there is a requirement of an MHC molecule to bind and recognize the antigen, however, the CAR T cells are capable of overcoming the limitation. So CAR T cells are able to bind directly and independent of this system allowing the cell to read a much diverse pool. How are they generated for clinical use? These cells ... The expansio¬¬¬¬¬n has caused many benefits to the end users but at the same time it has introduced problem of overlapping BSS (Basic Service Set) where BSS (i.e. WLAN cells) is fundamental block of IEEE 802.11 WLAN architecture. OBSS occurs due to two or more unrelated BSSs are used at the same place, at the same time and with the same frequency channel. With the expansion of channel bandwidth to 80 MHz (may be, 160 MHz) in upcoming standards, the OBSS problem is likely to be very severe in the future. This paper examines how OBSS can be harmful to the networks and how it can be avoided using beam forming, distributed coordination across different APs, and power management. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The problem becomes intense when there are many OBSS using the same channel. The wide range WLAN usage has caused tragedy of commons problem especially at public places. OBSS cause problems such as low efficiency, higher congestion and low data rate. OBSS is a problem for 802.11 when it is intended to use for applications which require QoS. EDCA does not solve this problem as it does not require other BSSs to coordinate. Admission control only solves bandwidth allocation problem within a single network and does not address OBSS [2]. POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS A number of solutions have been recommended in the past up to today to reduce potential interference due to OBSS problem. Frequency channel assignment can be a solution where BSS, during initial setup, scans the area to avoid channels that are already being used at other BSSs in the same area [1]. This solution can be useful only if the network has been carefully designed. Second solution can be dynamic channel switching. Channel switching has the same concept like frequency channel assignment but it periodically checks for any OBSS situation. If an AP detects other BSS on the same channel then it will switch to different channel. A third solution can be falling back to narrow band mode when two BSSs operate on the same channel [1]. So, if two BSSs found to be operating on same 80 MHz channel (in case of 802.11ac), they both can fall back to two different 40 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That was the first time doctors noticed that there was something wrong with her. After many years groundwater has also started to disappear leaving the question what are we going to do next? . This problem is causing the land of california to sink, make the next drought we are going to have even worse, using most of the groundwater we have left faster than it can get filled back up again, and ect. We should be trying our best to help with these solutions because; one of the solutions are: lowering the maximum capacity of pumping extractions helps save more water in aquifers, because right now anyone can pump out a much water as they would like, and that is not helping with our drought. Another solution is; recycling more water to fill aquifers back up because land has been sinking, and also since we keep on pumping out water and not letting rain and snow melt to fill them back for us, it will take about 5o years to fill back up, from the rate of pumping out the groundwater. The next solution is; seawater desalination and one way seawater desalination could work for us is because we do not have lots of water but we do have lots of oil and the process to clean the water is with lots of oil to get a lot more water than we have now. You might want to think about what and how you used technology as you were trying to get to sleep or staying up until all hours of the night harmed your sleep. One reason teens might have problems getting enough sleep is that teens have habits that negatively affect their sleep. Some examples of bad habits are the use of technology and not going to sleep at a reasonable time. However, the use of technology isn t always bad. One positive effect of using technology while trying to sleep can be seen when listening to low aroused music, for example. It is when teens use technology for other things that they hurt themselves. While some bad habits of teens can harm your sleep, some behaviors can make your sleep better. Kennedy was only the fourth president to die by assassination in a nation that was less than 200 years old(Betsy). There are three theories that this essay will explore.Thyat the CIA played a part in planning the assassination another one is that Lee Harvey Oswald was a CIA agent at the time and the theory that Cuba was behind the assassination. In the history books and the knowledge in everybody s head is that Lee Harvey Oswald was a lone shooter, but in the rest of this essay you`ll see that there are many more possible versions for what happened. But one thing for sure is that JFK died at the hands of somebody. On November 22, 1963, John F. Kennedy was on his way to speak at a luncheon. As the car turned off Main Street at Dealey Plaza ,people heard gunfire coming from the Texas School Book Depository. There is no evidence proving that Lee Harvey Oswald had any connection with Cuba when he committed the assassination of JFK. The only evidence to prove this theory is that he tried to get a visa to go to Cuba, but he was allegedly rejected because the government thought he was an undercover provocateur. (Lewis). • 22. The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Juniot Diaz In the novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Juniot Diaz you start to notice a cultural gender role and how there is certain expectations of them. The novel is based on a young boy named Oscar Wao and the hardships that one event has caused to an entire family. Even though the novel is focused on Oscar the author always went back to his sister and his mother. The author described the women as real, strong women, even though they were being filtered through a somewhat distorted male point of view (Stevenson 1). These two women play an important roll in this novel, they ultimately don t show the cultural gender role and what is expected from them. All the important female rolls in Oscars life are independent and strong women but they all have one thing in common, being mistreated by men. Women s history led to the historical study of gender. Gender includes the behavior, manners, morals, speech, and emotions expected of men and women because of their sex. Historians of gender have analyzed many characteristics of masculine and feminine behavior in relation to social stereotypes and economic power. The historians studies have provided a means to understand a wide range of social behavior from attitudes about sex to economic inequality in terms of social conventions of gender (Partner 1). This is a common factor in the novel The Brief Life of Oscar Wao by Diaz, he shows how the Dominican culture views their women and how they aren t always respected. ... The Schlieffen Plan was designed by Chief of the General Staff of the German Army Alfred von Schlieffen, as a strategy for invading France, while also holding off Russia. Schlieffen wanted the attack to be a swift and decisive strike to ensure that France would capitulate quickly, allowing Germany to send their forces on the French front over to the Russian front, combining their armies into one force that could then invade Russia. One of the main points of the strategy, was that Germany would go through Belgium and attack France where it was weaker, instead of the Maginot Line, which was heavily fortified. However, the average high schooler simply associates these elements as something used in their chemistry classes. In fact, the elements seen on the periodic table actually have much more to do in our daily lives and in history than most people know. While giving a whole new perspective to the meaning of Chemistry, author Sam Kean successfully recounts the hidden tales through humor and wit in his bestselling novel The Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of Elements. In fact, this tale is certainly one where the ending is not detrimental, and in contrary the happy opposite. Essentially, Kean focuses on the idea that these certain elements mentioned in the chapter affected the lives of these mad scientists immensely. For the most part, these elements hurt the careers and lives of some scientists, however this was not the case in all of the stories in this chapter. The examples of selenium crazed Crookes, the false hype of the manganese covered megadaltons, the palladium scandal of Pons and Fleischmann and the startling discovery of the x ray by Roentgen successfully conveyed the central theme and concepts. It is very easy for someone to understand the context filled stories and how they connect to what Kean is trying to establish. Additionally, the author generally maintains a balanced bias throughout the chapter. This difficulty in pricing stems from a poor positioning strategy for Angiomax which does not maximize the perceived value (PV) that the drug provides to its key customer segments. This incentivizes doctors and, indirectly, hospital administrators to purchase the drug since this price is lower than the PV created by this positioning strategy. Implementing this solution requires additional considerations. First, Medicines Co. needs to thoroughly train its representatives on the cost savings and risks of complication statistics that show the significant effectiveness of Angiomax over Heparin for high risk patients. This is critical for their interactions with doctors. Second, Medicines Co needs to allocate additional marketing budgeting to demonstrate that Angiomax is a more effective treatment for high risk patients and not simply an alternative to Heparin. Finally, since Angiomax is close to being approved for heart attacks, the marketing team should perform another analysis of the marketing framework and budget more marketing to highlight the effectiveness of Angiomax in treating heart attacks over Heparin.
