The Britches And Hose Theater Company Of Euripides
The review of the Britches and Hose Theater Company of Euripides Medea this production focuses
more on Medea s misery made by her husband betrayal. In this review it mentions, Medea in the
beginning of the play she is portrayed as a hurt women that is broken in despair. This production
wants the audience to first to engage in Medea s pain and to see her as a victim not a sorceress.
Compare to the O kane Theater it s opening had Medea crying of despair and the nurse fearing that
Medea will want revenge. There s a huge difference in the two productions, in the O kane Theater they
focus more on displaying that women all over the world not mattering the race can experience
betrayal. The Britches and Hose Theater Company play focus on Medea character as a woman who
has been betrayed and is painfully suffering from that. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

in this play as a person who felt in love with the wrong person and who brought her misery. According
to this review, Jason in this play is portrayed as selfish man and his betrayal to Medea goes well for
his own vengeance that lastly destroys him. By placing Jason as person who is very selfish and only

The Natural Resources Of Canada
Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, A river is more than an amenity, it is a treasure, and there are about
750 million peop6le who would support him on that statement. Is it fair that the people who do not
have clean water to drink, or wash with everyday must use water that is contaminated with copper,
lead, nickel and selenium? For an example, take Canada and India. Two very different countries, from
opposite sides of the world. They barely have any similarities, especially when it comes to the amount
of clean water, the purity of the water they do have, and how those countries work towards conserving
this natural resource. Although both countries are amongst the top ten amount of renewable water
available to their citizens, they highly differ when it comes to what they do with it. Canada has got
many bodies of water to get their resources from, unlike many other countries. First of all, over
seventy percent of Canada s population lives in the Southern Part of Ontario. This means that they live
very close to The Great Lakes which provides a lot of water resources. In addition to that, Canada is
surrounded by the Pacific, Atlantic, and the Arctic Oceans and has over 243,000 km of coastline.
There are hundreds and thousands of different bodies of water around Canada. According to Statistics
Canada, all the lakes and rivers put together cover over twelve percent of Canada s surface area. The
Great Lakes have a volume of 22,684 km3 and cover a surface area of 244,160 km2.

Differences Between Lewis And Clark
America doubled in size in 1803 when President Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana Territory
from France for 15 million dollars. Jefferson wanted to discover this land and hoped to find a water
route that would link the pacific ocean with the mississippi river. Jefferson decided to enlist the help
of his personal secretary and soldier, Meriwether Lewis. Lewis knew he couldn t go on this journey
alone and he knew just the man to join him on the journey. William Clark was a draftsman who
possessed knowledge of the outdoors. Among Lewis and Clark, young american soldiers and french
canadian river men were hand picked to tag along with them on their journey. York, Clark s personal

Animals like bears and snakes were a frequent encounter that would potentially harm the explorers.
The terrain was rugged and not easy to travel on. The men would have to hike thousands of miles
through mountains and rocky hills where they fell constantly, severely injuring themselves. Since the
men did not have a doctor s office nearby, when they got cut from rocks or other natural dangers, they
would have to use anything they could find to help them. If someone got badly injured and was not
able to walk, they would have to be left behind. The crew later became a walking hospital filled with
skin diseases, exhaustion, dysentery, constipation, fevers, malaria, strained muscles, sore eyes, boils
and venereal diseases. On September 23,1806, after being gone for more than 2 years and traveling
more than 8,000 miles on rugged terrain, Lewis and Clark finally returned to St.Louis. Only one

Effects Of Concentration On The Rate Of Reaction
Michaelis Menten and Lineweaver Burke kinetics of polyphenol oxidase . Effect of substrate
concentration concentration on the rate of reaction
Introduction
Enzymes catalyse biological reactions ,increasing the rate of chemical reactions
Enzymes have an affect on the structure of chemical transformation (stryer et al , 2011 )
Enzyme substances bind at the active cite which contains amino acid chains.
Without catalysis reactions the process would take place slowly to produce products , enzymes are
most effective catalyst (Campbell and Farrell, 2011) .A catalysed reaction is obtained by the
production of a complex between e and the reactants (Montgomery et al ., 1990).The reversible
reaction can be seen below: E + S ⇄ ES ⇄ EP ⇄ E + P
Inhibitors
Competitive inhibitors bind to the active site of the enzyme and compete with substrate concentration.
Competitive inhibitors do not change the vmax velocity because high amounts of substrate can over
come competitive inhibitors but rather increase km.
Non competitive inhibitors cause blockage for enzymatic reactions but allow substrate to bind.
Uncompetitive inhibitors don t bind to free energy but rather to enzyme substrate concentration. Un
competitive inhibitors work more effective with high amounts of substrate concentration (Meisenberg
and Simmons , 2011).
Cofactors and Coenzyme
Non protein molecules are required by certain enzymes in order to participate in enzyme catalysed
reactions (Devlin, 2010). Co factors are

Chinese Economy in 2025
The Chinese Economy in 2025 By: [Student Name] Subject: Presented To: [Institute] [City/State]
Date The Chinese Economy in 2025 Introduction The rapid growth in the Chinese economy since
1978 has captured the attention of most of the international and business organizations. Some of the
people have negative views about the future growth of China, whereas, others fear that China will turn
out be a very strong nation in economic terms. According to Nicholas Lardy, huge economic problems
will be confronted by China as there is a great probability of social unrest in future in the People s
Republic of China. In addition to that, there would be an increase in the indebted state owned
enterprises. This increase in social unrest and nonperforming loans will lead towards a decline in the
economic growth of the Chinese Economy. (Holz 2005) Even though, the future prospects for the
economic growth of China are negative but the rapid growth of the People s Republic of China, in
economic terms, since the reforms of 1978 is undeniable. Chinese economy has an average Gross
Domestic Product (GDP) of 9.37 per year. In addition to that, China has also become one of the major
contributors in the world economy and has shown tremendous growth even in the times of recession
as well. (Holz 2005) Growth Trends in Chinese Economy (1978 2012) Since the introduction of the
reforms of 1978, Chinese economy has been growing at a sustainable and a fast rate as compared to

Herodotus On The Customs Of Persians
This essays point is to analyze the primary source and review what the document tells us about the
Persians and what it might be telling us about the Greeks. The primary source being used is On the
Customs of Persians by Herodotus which is written from his view point on the Persians in comparison
to the Greeks customs and beliefs. This paper will discuss the similarities and differences between the
two with evidence found in the primary source to back it up with quotes and explanations to why it s
important. The Greeks and Persians while sharing some similarities they are outweighed by the two s
differences such as; their image in god, sacrificing rituals, customs, and death rituals. The first
difference we see between the two and could also be the biggest, is the Persians not having a set image
of god since the Greeks see their gods as in the same nature as man. We can infer this to Persians by
this quote: They have no images of god, no temples nor alters, and consider them a sign of folly.
(Herodotus par.2) Which tells us they do not see gods as an image of man like the Greeks, they would
see it foolish to think of them as mere idols and see them more as ... Show more content on

An example is their learning of an unnatural lust from the Greeks which leads them to Each of them
having several wives, and still larger number of concubines. (Herodotus par.6) This quote tell us that
they do have something in common and that is their wanting of more and a greed they both seem to
share. It also tells us that the Persians seem to like and adopt certain foreign customs that they see to
be as superior or as of a luxury to them, while the Greeks are more to keeping of their own customs
instead of adopting new ones or modify the ones they already have. The Greeks seem to hold their
customs very close due to it working closely with their religion that hold their god that the Greeks see

Factors in the Development of Swing
Around the turn of the nineteenth century, new musical forms such as ragtime and jazz saw
development in urbanized areas particularly through the influence of the African American
community. These contemporary genres compelled the evolution of dance toward expression that was
more exuberant with exaggerated body movements (Edmondson). By the 1920s, this led to the
creation of the Charleston and the Lindy Hop, the direct predecessors to Swing. In particular, the
Savoy Ballroom, opened in 1926 in New York, was central to this development because there dancers
soon incorporated tap and jazz steps into their dancing, led by individuals such as Benny Goodman
and Herbert White (Heikkila). The East Coast Swing, often associated with the Jitterbug, Lindy, and
Triple Swing, was a redefinition of the Lindy Hop as the characteristic eight count step was simplified
to a six step swing during the 1940s. Much of the formalization of this dance was performed by the
Arthur Murray dance studios which began to teach Swing, thus introducing an otherwise wild street
dance to the ballroom dance community. Meanwhile, Dean Collins introduced Swing to California
and, though he did not explicitly invent West Coast Swing, was influential in its popularity and
stylistic development through his smooth and anchored style of dancing swing which became
imported into Hollywood s own portrayal of the dance (Powers). Originally named Western Swing,
the name was changed in 1959 to West Coast

Zombie Apocalypse History
6 Of The Most Original Zombie Movies Ever Made
Even the most passionate zombie movie fan will have to admit that the genre gets played out from
time to time. Sure, we all love a good walking dead/end of the world film. Yet, it s been a long time
since George A. Romero and Night of the Living Dead scared up audiences in 1968.
Since then, a slew of films have been produced and they ve varied wildly in terms of quality. Some
being quality, but most not so much. Yet, it s not always the quality of a zombie film that makes
people come. Some just want to see the undead devouring on some human flesh. Films have ranged
from classic horror themes to ridiculous plots about loved ones coming back from the dead. Some are
even timepieces that may only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Critics both loved and faulted FotLD s zany, largely original plot despite attempting to cash in on two
often cliche genres in one film. While the film did receive high marks from some critics, FotLD never
created much of a buzz. But it does have the bad guy from Kindergarten Cop in it. So, that should
make someone reading this interested, right?
Warm Bodies (2013)
A zombie love story isn t the most original concept in recent years. Yet, Warm Bodies went deeper
with a background into the main zombie character, R. In doing so, the film showed a human element
to the undead (thanks largely to Nicholas Hoult s voiceovers) that hasn t been explored in detail in
other films.
Another interesting twist to the genre was the addition of separate zombie factions. The far
deteriorated become the bad guys, along with the humans while those left in the middle are the heroes.
It s a classic tale of why extremes are never a good idea. Additionally, clever writing and a cast of
solid Hollywood veterans make Warm Bodies more endearing than other out there love stories.
Besides, it s not as if Warm Bodies was a trilogy centered on a love triangle involving a teenage girl, a
vampire and a werewolf. That would just be over the top.

Summary Of Brahms Symphony No. 4
Brahms wrote Symphony No. 4 in E Minor in 1884. The work was first performed in Meiningen,
Germany in October 1885 and was an instant success because of its masterful composition and unique
style. Brahms s music and his fourth symphony are often viewed as a bridge between the music of the
baroque and romantic era. Although Brahms is considered to be a romantic composer, his music is
unique from others because you can hear both the style of older era composers and features of
romantic style in the texture of his works. This combination of baroque and romantic style in his
music helps create more balance in the music, which gives it a blend that captured audiences and still
entrances them today. Brahms was also inspired by study of Beethoven s symphonies for their
orchestral color and harmonic structure; Brahms incorporates these features he enjoyed into his
writing. The fourth movement of Brahms symphony No. 4 is titled Allegro energico e passianato and
is known for its use of the Baroque style of Chaconne and other features that are found in the
Romantic style as well. Some of these include chromaticism, a melody that jumps between major and
minor keys but does not settle into a single mode, and extended techniques to creature a richness and a
wide pallet of sounds.
Brahms was a scholar and had a strong interest in Baroque music. His fourth movement makes use of
the Chaconne style. It is a series of repeated variations and chord progressions, a form of ostinato or

often because they are cultural fabrications (Rojek, 2001, p. 10). This can be thanks to the celebrity s

The s Control Theory And Merton s Strain Theory Essay
On the sunny day of June 4, 2014 in Monkton, New Brunswick, 24 year old Justin Bourque loaded his
rifle, drove his truck to a local gas station, and brutally murdered 3 RCMP officers. In the aftermath of
this shocking crime, criminologists ask themselves two questions: why did this happen, and even more
importantly, how can we prevent it from happening again? Hirschi s Control Theory and Merton s
Strain Theory suggest that Bourque s failure to properly bond with our society and his inability to
succeed within it directly led to the most extreme form of social deviance: murder. Considered one of
the worst crimes in Canadian history (The Canadian Press, 2014), on the day of June 4, 2016, 24 year
old Justin Bourque of Moncton, New Brunswick killed three RCMP officers, Const. Fabrice
Gevauden, Const. Dave Ross, and Const. Douglas Larche. As well as seriously injuring Const. Eric
Dubois and Const. Darlene Goguen. (Daily Gleaner, 2014) After shooting the officers, a thirty hour
man chase ensued until Bourque was finally captured. Once in captivity, Bourque was questioned
about his motives and eventually admitted to the interrogators that [he] wanted to set fire to three or
four gas stations and then sit, shoot and scoot. [Bourque] would have taken more Mounties down and

This research paper will involve the use of qualitative approach as the main research methodology.
This is a common case study method, which provides a clear vision on related implication of the
research topic to researcher (Kondracki Wellman, 2002). Besides, the data in this method depends on
human experience and this will be more persuasive and powerful than only data gathered via

context of the research (Maxwell. 2005).
The study involves both primary and secondary research in order to have a clear vision on the research
question. Secondary data will be collected from Tesco Inc. such as the sales, the number of visiting

Sputnik s Effect On The Space Race
The effect of Sputnik I on the Space Race
Sputnik 1 orbited the Earth every 98 minutes, flying over the United States seven times a day.
(Danielle Burton) During the Cold war the launch of Sputnik I by the Soviet Union in October 1957
created a fear in the United States. The United states feared that nuclear warheads could soon come. In
response the United States created and funded the National Defense Education Act(NDEA), and the

Class Structure In The Twelve Tables
The Twelve Tables is an ancient Roman table of laws that have shaped Roman culture and society as
we understand it. From those laws, a greater understanding of Roman life is revealed. Beyond the
rules, there is evidence of class structure, and economy. As well as family relations and power. The
Twelve Tables touch on slander and death in Roman lives.
The Twelve Tables informs on Roman class structure and Roman economy and describes prevalent
crimes in ancient Roman times and the equality of Romans. The Roman class structure involved the
patricians at the top of the social class, plebeians at the bottom of the social class. There was a divide
in the class structure with most Romans being plebeians which were the poorest social class, and very
few being patricians, the wealthy class. The Twelve Tables suggest that was a problem in the economy
due to the laws it provides. The Roman economy was poor at the time of the Twelve Tables, since the

Constraint Induced Aphasia
After the first year of aphasia resulting from stroke, researchers believe that spontaneous recovery
even with intensive therapies will be unlikely. There are few studies which have documented the
results of post stroke language functions after 12 months. Traditional language therapies also focus on
utilizing compensatory communication strategies with a focus on immediate communication needs for
each patient. Initial strategies used included gesturing, drawing, writing, and AAC systems with the
expectation that these assistive modalities will be decreased as verbal language function improves.
Scientists have begun to question if using these types of techniques could contribute to a learned non
use phenomenon. Thus, this study purposes to discover if restraining non verbal communication in
aphasia patients can result in better verbal language outcomes in the future.
Constraint induced aphasia therapy (CIAT) focuses on using intensive verbal practice with clinician
guided verbal cuing without the use of other compensatory strategies (ex: naming). Although there are
concerns that limiting communication compensatory strategies could create frustration with speaking,

The Negative Effects Of Social Influence On Identity...
Social influence is present in all areas of human lives. Society influences people s perceptions,
attitudes, judgments, opinions or behaviors. That is why every individual modifies their action based
on the interaction they have with their environment. This influence is due to the relationship with
people, groups, institutions and with society in general. The environment has a bad influence on
identity development because people tend to follow what the others say and assimilate of themselves.
Society influences people negatively because it is mostly focused on the betterment of yourself and
not on people as a community. Also, family have a negative impact on the personality of the
household members because family have the biggest role in the lives of individuals. The relationships
between the members of the household, determine the values, affections, and attitudes of the children
who want to assimilate it. Therefore, the family is the most central influence in the lives of people. In

There were many forms of acne, ranging from blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples to severe forms
such as cystic or modular acne. Da Silva, whose scientific background was with lasers, had seen
dermatologists use laser technologies in the treatment of mild to moderate inflammatory acne, most
commonly referred to as pimples, breakouts, blemishes, or zits. Choi summarized the science behind
the laser treatments: Lasers treat acne in two possible ways. At certain wavelengths or colors lasers go
into the skin tissue and generate oxygen radicals, which kill the bacteria and reduce inflammation. At
other wavelengths, lasers are basically heat sources that reduce sebum [an oily substance produced by
certain skin glands] production by killing and reducing the number of sebaceous glands. This
decreases the likelihood that excess sebum clogs pores, which can lead to acne. 2 This document is

Siddhartha Lessons
Lessons are best learned through experience. This holds true in Hermann Hesse s Novel Siddhartha.
On his path to enlightenment, Siddhartha experiences many different circumstances that shape the way
he becomes by the end of the novel. He encounters trials and tribulations, such as affection, self
exploration, and sadness, much like I have. Through these experiences, both Siddhartha and I were not
only guaranteed knowledge of our situations, but eternal wisdom through our experiences. Siddhartha
ignores the ways of other spiritual groups, and goes on his own path, and I break away from mean
spirited people. In part one, Siddhartha decides after trying the way of the Samanas, that it is not for
him, and Govinda follows. In this quote, Siddhartha explains to Govinda, that although Govinda
believes that the samanas will help them attain wisdom and enlightenment, he has noticed that all of
them are old and frail, even unhappy. He has lived for sixty years and has not reached the nirvana. He
ll turn seventy and eighty, and you and me, we will grow just as old and will do our exercises, and will
fast, and will meditate. But we will not reach the nirvana, he won t and we won t. (Hesse 20). This
leaves Siddhartha to believe that although they may have pushed away their desires for human
contact, and ousted their needs for food and shelter, they have still not reached enlightenment, even as
old men. They then try to make way with the Buddha. Siddhartha is bewildered by the fact

riding. The content of the artwork could be how people are a small compared to the big world we live
in. I think this piece of art was painted on with watercolor and a type of paper. These lines in the
artwork is very loose and free. These lines in the artwork reminds me of Vincent van Gogh, The Starry
Night lines in his artwork which are loose ,but the viewer can tell what the meaning of the picture is.
In the artwork Untitled (The bright flatness) colors mostly used were the primary colors blue and red.
The surfer is red and the waves of the ocean is blue. The wave color could be a local color that the
viewers know the ocean color is blue. The blue color has different tints from dark blue to light blue.
The wave in the art is three dimensional it represents the wave as if it was being seen in an ocean. In
the picture, there is a highlight where the ocean has lighter white spots throughout the wave. Another
highlight would be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The world outdoors was chosen because the whole artwork is about nature. When I examine the
artwork I feel ecstatic or happy. I feel ecstatic or happy because the surfer is consumed with nature
,and one day I hope to learn to surf and be surrounded with nature. I think the artwork purpose is to
show the California landscape and its beauty. Untitled (The bright flatness) is interesting to me
because my passion in life is the marine world. In this artwork it shows how that surfer is so small
compare to the ocean. I think that we are small compared to the outside world like the ocean. The
artwork Untitled ( The bright flatness) is a successful work of art ,and the art work is successful
because the artist was a successful by the 1990 s. Surfer art was repeated art for Raymond

Cultural Factors That Influence Consumer Behavior
There are four main factors that influence the consumer s behavior; cultural, social, personal, and
physiological. These factors determine what the consumer will buy, why they buy an item, and if they
will be a return customer. Culture is a very complex factor that plays a vital role in a customer s
behavior. Culture can be broken down into sub factors such as culture, sub culture, and social class.
Culture impacts every part of our behavior, not specifically our buying trends. There are habits that are
acquire as humans and everyday members of society. Sub culture influences tend to be a little more
powerful because it is narrowed down to our nation, religion, races, and many more factors. The most
powerful sub factor in culture is your social class. Social class does not always mean, income. Social
class indicates more of your surroundings such as educational backgrounds, your living environment,
as well as your economic state. From Torrid s marketing standpoint, they are targeting the entire
nation with these larger clothes, as they see this being an epidemic amongst the United States. Taking
a closer look at our social class, we can see all of the social factors that are involved in the purchasing
of consumer goods. Factors such as relationships, personal roles, and economic stability. Relational
influences often tend to be one of the largest factors in looking at a product. Normally, a family

Swarm Robotics Literature Review
Literature review
Nowadays, along with the development of the world, people now want to do much more complicated
work. In order to handle these prolems, the systems of robot have een developed. Just like human,
robots are always better when they work as a group, this is when the communication and coordination
algorithms need to be applied. To have a better look about this systems, we need to understand clearly
the term Swarm Robotics .
Defining swarm robotics
Şahin (2005, p.1) defined swarm robotics as a novel approach to the coordination of large numbers of
robots. By simulating some properties of natural systems, this method is used to control a large
number of similar robots to do complicated tasks that an individual robot cannot.
There are three properties that define swarm robotics and separate it from other multi robot systems
(Şahin, 2005). A swarm robotic system must be robust, which means that if any robot in the system
stops functioning, the rest of the system still continues to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, due to large number of robots, and various environments that the group of robots may
operate in, as well as changes in the number of robots in a group for different tasks, developing an
effective algorithm for swarm robotics systems seems to be a great challenge. Stirling and Floreano
(2010) proposed a system in which some robots act as communication relays, while other robots
operate as normal troops. This method used no or low bandwidth communication, and showed good
scalability performance. However, the use of this methods is only limited to small area operation, as
the range between communication relays and the robots are limited. Wireless LAN is a solution to this
limitation, as it support long range as well as high bandwidth communication, however this is proved
to be a costly solution, as every robot in the system must have a WLAN module to support this
method (Brambilla et al.,

A Proposal for Legalizing Industrial Hemp Cultivation

Subject: Proposal for Legalizing Industrial hemp cultivation
The U.S. government, in all its wisdom, treats hemp and marijuana in the same manner. Despite one
offering no psychoactive effects (hemp) and the other offering psychoactive effects (marijuana), both
are against the law. Several states have passed laws to allow the growing of hemp; however the federal
government has stood firm on the ban for decades, and continues to do so. The time has come for the
feds to update obsolete polices and get a dose of reality; it s time to legalize industrial hemp.
Did you know Industrial hemp has been grown on American soil since the beginning of this great
nation? Did you also know that it s only been illegal for over 70 years now? So why now is this
amazing resourceful plant illegal? That s one question that still needs to be answered. In this proposal
I will introduce and explain why industrial hemp needs to be made legal to manufacture and cultivate
in the United States of America.
This plant has huge potential and a growing market in the United States. What makes hemp so
valuable? Its uses are virtually endless. But, here s a start:

The Federal Bureau Of Investigation
After the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino, the United States government, specifically the Federal
Bureau of Investigation was in a dispute with the technology company Apple. The FBI seized the
iPhone of Syed Farook who along with his wife Tasfeen Malik killed 14 people and injured 22. Farook
and his wife were then killed in a shootout with the police. However, the FBI could not bypass the
security code that Farook placed on his phone, and access information within the device. Therefore,
the bureau requested that Apple create a backdoor which is a mean of access to a computer program
that bypasses the programs security measures. Apple refused to comply with the bureau s request as
the company argued that it would jeopardize the privacy of their customers and is an overreach of
state power. Thus, the conflict was going to be decided legally, until the FBI canceled the first court
hearing with Apple. The FBI was able to unlock Farook s phone without Apple s help through a third
party company. But the government s actions set in place a dangerous precedent. By creating a back
door, the government is able to access information on any Apple device and has weakened the
company s cyber security. To prevent further legal disputes, Congress and the president should create
a modern law that can balance the interests of national security and privacy in the 21st century. Sheri
Pym, a California district court magistrate judge, ordered Apple to create new software or a backdoor

Energy Systems Case Study
2.1 Energy Systems
In the U.S., the Government made a study published in 2016 that 40% of total US energy consumption
was consumed by residential and commercial properties (U.S. Department of Energy, 2017). The
below notes the major building services that consume the most energy. For New York to meet the
greenhouse gas requirements by 2050, a reduction of 80%, they imposed regulations (Halper, 2017).
This is outlined below.
To ensure that the skyscraper met the LEEDS rating system standards, multiple services and
considerations within the building were modified. They consist of;
Lighting
Heating, cooling and ventilation
Water usage

Replacing the standard light bulb to either a CFL (Compact Florescent Lamps) or LEDs, can save
approximately 65% to 80% on energy in comparison with the average light bulb. The bulb lives are
increased with CFL being 10,000 hours and LED being 25,000 hours. (U.S. Department of Energy,
2017). When purchasing light bulbs for an office situation there are rules and regulations to meet so
the lighting is appropriate for a work environment.
To achieve the LEED rating for lighting, contributes 23 points towards the total LEEDS rating, the
New York skyscraper must only provide lighting to areas which are in use at the time; use natural
lighting where possible; use sustainable light fittings; use reflective lighting; and use control lighting
(DiLouie, 2009). These are only to name a few.
To meet these guidelines the Bank of America in New York has reduced the overall use of electric
lighting by 25%. This is by maximising natural light by installing windows which are approximately
2.9 metres tall (floor to ceiling). The windows are made from low iron soda lime . This product can be
coated with anti reflection coating. This achieves a total light transmission of 98% (Abrisa
Technologies, 2010). The building also has installed transparent internal walls which separate internal
areas. This plan ensures that the majority of the building receives natural lighting. Photo and motion
sensors are installed and adjust the

The Ethics of Nanotechnology Essay
The Ethics of Nanotechnology
Introduction
Imagine a world in which cars can be assembled molecule by molecule, garbage can be disassembled
and turned into beef steaks, and people can be operated on and healed by cell sized robots. Sound like
science fiction? Well, with current semiconductor chip manufacturing encroaching upon the
nanometer scale and the ability to move individual atoms at the IBM Almaden laboratory, we are fast
approaching the technological ability to fabricate productive machines and devices that can
manipulate things at the atomic level. From this ability we will be able to develop molecular sized
computers and robots, which would give us unprecedented control over matter and the ability to shape

He was inspired by Nobel laureate Richard Feynman s 1959 lecture, There s Plenty of Room at the
Bottom, about miniaturization down to the atomic scale. Since then, Drexler has written numerous
other books on the subject, such as Unbounding the Future, and has founded the Foresight Institute,
which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the responsible development of nanotechnology. It hosts
conferences and competitions to raise the awareness of nanotechnology and the ethical issues involved
in its development.
Today, nanotechnology research and development is quite wide spread, although not high profile yet.
Numerous universities, such as Univ. of Washington and Northwestern Univ., have established centers
and institutes to study nanotechnology, and the U.S. government has created an organization, the
National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI), to monitor and guide research and development in this
field. In fact, as noted in an April 2001 Computerworld article, the Bush administration increased
funding to nanoscale science research by 16% through its National Science Foundation (NSF) budget
increase. DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) and the NSF are currently the two
largest sources of funding for nanotechnology research and have an enormous influence on the
direction of scientific research done in the United States. With so many resources dedicated to its
development, nanotechnology will surely have an impact within our lifetime, so it is

pay fees for bus rides to and from games. I actually think that paying fees is a good idea for sports
teams but I don t think you should pay fees for having a coach only for the equipment you re using. I
think that paying fees is good and raising money for the school but not a ton of money to spend just on

Strategies And Methods For Designing A Meeting Essay
Meeting Strategies This paper will discuss strategies and methods for designing a meeting. For
purposes of this discussion, it is time for the quarterly board of directors meeting. Unfortunately, the
meeting will be discussing low profits, pending lawsuits and high employee turnover. To add to the
difficulty of delivering bad news, the board of directors are dispersed across the country that will
require time zone and location coordination. Barrett (2011) discusses meeting strategies and design.
She suggests the following ideas, which are define the meeting purpose, consider the audience, set an
agenda, consider the meeting setting (location, seating arrangements, etc.), the meeting time, ascertain
needed information, and establish tangible end product(s).
Meeting Purpose
As Barrett (2011) suggests, one of the most important first steps is to define the meeting purpose. The
meeting organizer must evaluate whether the meeting is held to inform, persuade, instruct, or engage.
In this scenario, the meetings purpose is a hybrid of informing the board and engaging them in
solutions and directions.
Consider the audience Next, Barrett (2011) suggests consideration of the audience. For this meeting,
the board of directors, who are the decision makers, is the audience. Included along with the board of
directors, key personnel such as the budget officer and legal team ought to be included. The meeting
setting and time in this scenario will vary due to the board of

France had undoubtedly suffered the most since most of Northern France had been a battlefield.
Germany had invaded her for the second time since 1870 when Alsace Lorraine had been taken over
by Germany. Georges thought that by stripping Germany of everything he would make sure that there
was not another war again. He had three main demands: Germany must return Alsace Lorraine to
France, pay reparations to France to cover the cost of rebuilding the parts of France that had been
damaged and to take possession of Rhineland to stop Germany attacking France in the future.
Woodrow Wilson had bought over the Fourteen Points which was a list of things to happen in Europe,
which he hoped, would prevent a future war. Two of these include parts of countries to be made into
new countries and for a League of Nations to be set up.
Orlando was not happy about the way he was treated at Versailles. After the Secret Treaty of London,
Italy had been promised the Adriatic Coast. He expected France and Britain to keep their promise
when he arrived at Versailles and wanted his fair share of the spoils of war after changing sides in
1915.
Many people expressed their beliefs through cartoons to change other s opinions. Most of them were
against the treaty but some were for it such as the poster launched by the B.E.U. Not many paid

The process of globalization has created a borderless world through the free flow of knowledge and
materials and mobility of people and making it become a global village (Andleeb, 2014). According to
Rouse (n.d.), he mentioned that globalization is the process in which people, ideas, and goods spread
throughout the world, spurring more interaction and integration between the world s cultures,
governments, and economics. However, the world virtually looks like the broken mirror, between rich

Rationalism In Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
The duration of the novels, the characters are seen lamenting their pasts and longing for a future, ready
for whatever seems to be awaiting them. The journey that the pilgrims takes and the stories they tell
attempts to reconcile their purpose for the journey. At the same time they reconcile their pasts, and not
just their pasts but also the past of humanity. The underling issue of the novel is that the characters are
unable to properly grieve for their pasts and it is ultimately recreated in an odd, intergalactic
colonialism that causes a war. To begin, Pearl is a poem that is contemporary to Chaucer s The
Canterbury Tales of which this novel is loosely based on. But Pearl is a dream vision/debate poem
about a father who laments the death of his daughter. He falls asleep and has a vision of her as a queen
in heaven. They debate about rationalism, but ultimately the debate does not have a real conclusion
that comes to a satisfactory end. The emphasis of the poem is that all things are rational through faith
whether or not the individual understands. There are multiple dialogues like this in Hyperion. The
Bikura have dialogues like this on two occasions, once after they killed Tuk and again while figuring
out what to do with Duré after he snuck off to the Cleft. When Duré aske why they killed Tuk, they
gave no specific answer Your companion died the true death. You did not. [...] Why not? Why didn t

The Victorian Era Exposed In Dracula By Bram Stoker
The Victorian Era is regarded as very impactful time in terms of literature. It incorporated the
elements of Gothic principles such as isolation, fascination of the past, and decay. All of the listed
characteristics appear in the infamous novel Dracula and play a significant role in how the book is
transcribed. But perhaps the most significant attribute would be the concept of othering or
foreigners. In Bram Stoker s Dracula, Stoker provides a thorough perspective in to the British fear of
the other. He utilizes the main character, Dracula, to convey how society portrays foreigners or
immigrants as aggressors. Dracula highlights the British fear of the other and all that is foreign. He
comes from somewhere other than England, Transylvania, to symbolize his exclusion from society
and to represent his status as an immigrant. Dracula also does not have anything in common with the
Transylvanian citizens. They also express a great deal of superstition about Dracula when Jonathan

Harry Parr Essay
It is the occasional fate of artists and potters that after decades of celebration, modern tastes should
eclipse their once eminent reputations. Charles Vyse, sculptor and potter, was such an artist. In the
new world following The Great War, Charles Vyse was at the vanguard of English studio pottery
making. He is a poignant example of a celebrated artist overtaken by the shadow of derision in the
post WWII era. His renown as a sculptor and potter during the 1920s and 1930s contrasts to the
complete indifference to his art in the 1950s and 1960s. Whereas his status of master potter is
indisputable, his aesthetic influence on other potters is insignificant. His figurative work and his
stoneware vessels have few disciples among today s potters. Conversely, for the collector, there has
been a resurgence of interest in his figures and stoneware vessels. The acquisition of a Vyse figure is a

version of reality which to different viewers may reinforce or critique the dominant representations of
the Bra Boys . The documentary does include elements which clearly function to criticise and change
the dominant representations by valourising Koby Abberton s achievements in the surfing arena.
The inclusion of footage of Koby surfing successfully at a turbulent time with the law had the purpose
to re channel the focus from the negative aspects of the Bra Boys history to the favourable events that
portray them as surfing legends. Abberton was strongly promoting the moral that the Bra Boys as a
whole, turn their disadvantage into success as the surf was their saviour. Koby Abberton was the
figurehead for this storyline and by the use of his career achievements; it effectively cancelled out the
negative judgements that could arise from his court case. The use of extreme long shots of the giant
waves in Tahiti and Hawaii and the small surfer riding the mammoth waves acted a strong symbol.
The relative size of the wave which was further emphasised by the choice of camera shot represents
the amount of variables against Koby Abberton representing the Bra Boys .

accountable for glorifying the Nazi s and her involvement with Hitler. Based on the evidence gathered,
my speech will show that Leni Riefenstahl is guilty as a war criminal for her contribution to Nazi
mayhem. From the earliest accounts of Riefenstahl s career, it is clear that she was prepared to use
others and their money to benefit herself. Riefenstahl and Hitler both shared a close and intimate
relationship. He saw her as the ideal Aryan woman who could promote the motives of power and
beauty. Riefenstahl s feelings for Hitler ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film received mixed views around the world but most importantly won the support of Hitler who
strongly admired her work. In 1933, Hitler appointed Riefenstahl as film maker for a short film called
Victory of Faith at the Nuremburg Rally. The film was an enthusiastic tool in distributing the Nazi
Party to the German people. However, all copies were removed and destroyed due to the murder of
Ernest Rohm during the Night of the Long Knives. The following year Hitler provided Riefenstahl
with all the resources needed to make Triumph of the Will one of the greatest propaganda films ever
produced. The film promoted several aspects of Nazi propaganda including the concept of the Aryan

Hewlett Packard is the case study of this work, procurement being a broad topic, we will concentrate
on three main areas for the purpose of these work. Brief understanding of them;
GLOBAL SOURCING:
Global sourcing can be simply defined as coordinating and integrating of procurement requirement

that have the need, leverages and facilities around the globe to enable them apply the process to gain
competitiveness from global sourcing. They are usually in a contract with other large corporations

Quote Analysis
Quotation and page number:
His front wheel struck the edge of the shell, flipped the turtle like a tiddly wink, spun it like a coin,
and rolled it off the highway...Laying on its back, the turtle was tight in its shell for a long time. But at
last its legs wasted in the air..and flopped upright. The old humorous eyes looked ahead (15 16).

ones in order to gain money and to remove unnecessary items that will just get in the way as they
travel.
Their lack of money due to little bargaining room shows as their journey to California continues, they
will find themselves scarce of necessities. This device contributes to the significance of the passage
because Steinbeck demonstrated that sometimes one needs to sacrifice something in order to receive
something greater.

And when a horse stops work and goes into the barn there is a life and vitality left, there is a breathing
and a warmth, and the feet shift on the straw, and the jaws champ on the hay, and the eyes and ears are
alive...But when the motor of a tractor stops, it is as dead as the ore it came from. The heat goes out of
it like the living heat that leaves the corpse (115).

  • 3. The Natural Resources Of Canada Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, A river is more than an amenity, it is a treasure, and there are about 750 million peop6le who would support him on that statement. Is it fair that the people who do not have clean water to drink, or wash with everyday must use water that is contaminated with copper, lead, nickel and selenium? For an example, take Canada and India. Two very different countries, from opposite sides of the world. They barely have any similarities, especially when it comes to the amount of clean water, the purity of the water they do have, and how those countries work towards conserving this natural resource. Although both countries are amongst the top ten amount of renewable water available to their citizens, they highly differ when it comes to what they do with it. Canada has got many bodies of water to get their resources from, unlike many other countries. First of all, over seventy percent of Canada s population lives in the Southern Part of Ontario. This means that they live very close to The Great Lakes which provides a lot of water resources. In addition to that, Canada is surrounded by the Pacific, Atlantic, and the Arctic Oceans and has over 243,000 km of coastline. There are hundreds and thousands of different bodies of water around Canada. According to Statistics Canada, all the lakes and rivers put together cover over twelve percent of Canada s surface area. The Great Lakes have a volume of 22,684 km3 and cover a surface area of 244,160 km2. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Differences Between Lewis And Clark America doubled in size in 1803 when President Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana Territory from France for 15 million dollars. Jefferson wanted to discover this land and hoped to find a water route that would link the pacific ocean with the mississippi river. Jefferson decided to enlist the help of his personal secretary and soldier, Meriwether Lewis. Lewis knew he couldn t go on this journey alone and he knew just the man to join him on the journey. Effect of substrate concentration concentration on the rate of reaction Introduction Enzymes catalyse biological reactions ,increasing the rate of chemical reactions Enzymes have an affect on the structure of chemical transformation (stryer et al , 2011 ) Enzyme substances bind at the active cite which contains amino acid chains. Without catalysis reactions the process would take place slowly to produce products , enzymes are most effective catalyst (Campbell and Farrell, 2011) .A catalysed reaction is obtained by the production of a complex between e and the reactants (Montgomery et al ., 1990).The reversible reaction can be seen below: E + S ⇄ ES ⇄ EP ⇄ E + P Inhibitors Competitive inhibitors bind to the active site of the enzyme and compete with substrate concentration. Competitive inhibitors do not change the vmax velocity because high amounts of substrate can over come competitive inhibitors but rather increase km. Non competitive inhibitors cause blockage for enzymatic reactions but allow substrate to bind. Uncompetitive inhibitors don t bind to free energy but rather to enzyme substrate concentration. Un competitive inhibitors work more effective with high amounts of substrate concentration (Meisenberg and Simmons , 2011). Some of the people have negative views about the future growth of China, whereas, others fear that China will turn out be a very strong nation in economic terms. According to Nicholas Lardy, huge economic problems will be confronted by China as there is a great probability of social unrest in future in the People s Republic of China. In addition to that, there would be an increase in the indebted state owned enterprises. This increase in social unrest and nonperforming loans will lead towards a decline in the economic growth of the Chinese Economy. The primary source being used is On the Customs of Persians by Herodotus which is written from his view point on the Persians in comparison to the Greeks customs and beliefs. This paper will discuss the similarities and differences between the two with evidence found in the primary source to back it up with quotes and explanations to why it s important. The Greeks and Persians while sharing some similarities they are outweighed by the two s differences such as; their image in god, sacrificing rituals, customs, and death rituals. The first difference we see between the two and could also be the biggest, is the Persians not having a set image of god since the Greeks see their gods as in the same nature as man. We can infer this to Persians by this quote: They have no images of god, no temples nor alters, and consider them a sign of folly. • 8. Factors in the Development of Swing Around the turn of the nineteenth century, new musical forms such as ragtime and jazz saw development in urbanized areas particularly through the influence of the African American community. These contemporary genres compelled the evolution of dance toward expression that was more exuberant with exaggerated body movements (Edmondson). By the 1920s, this led to the creation of the Charleston and the Lindy Hop, the direct predecessors to Swing. In particular, the Savoy Ballroom, opened in 1926 in New York, was central to this development because there dancers soon incorporated tap and jazz steps into their dancing, led by individuals such as Benny Goodman and Herbert White (Heikkila). The East Coast Swing, often associated with the Jitterbug, Lindy, and Triple Swing, was a redefinition of the Lindy Hop as the characteristic eight count step was simplified to a six step swing during the 1940s. Much of the formalization of this dance was performed by the Arthur Murray dance studios which began to teach Swing, thus introducing an otherwise wild street dance to the ballroom dance community. Meanwhile, Dean Collins introduced Swing to California and, though he did not explicitly invent West Coast Swing, was influential in its popularity and stylistic development through his smooth and anchored style of dancing swing which became imported into Hollywood s own portrayal of the dance (Powers). Originally named Western Swing, the name was changed in 1959 to West Coast ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since then, a slew of films have been produced and they ve varied wildly in terms of quality. Some being quality, but most not so much. So, that should make someone reading this interested, right? Warm Bodies (2013) A zombie love story isn t the most original concept in recent years. Yet, Warm Bodies went deeper with a background into the main zombie character, R. Another interesting twist to the genre was the addition of separate zombie factions. The far deteriorated become the bad guys, along with the humans while those left in the middle are the heroes. It s a classic tale of why extremes are never a good idea. Additionally, clever writing and a cast of solid Hollywood veterans make Warm Bodies more endearing than other out there love stories. The work was first performed in Meiningen, Germany in October 1885 and was an instant success because of its masterful composition and unique style. Brahms s music and his fourth symphony are often viewed as a bridge between the music of the baroque and romantic era. Although Brahms is considered to be a romantic composer, his music is unique from others because you can hear both the style of older era composers and features of romantic style in the texture of his works. This combination of baroque and romantic style in his music helps create more balance in the music, which gives it a blend that captured audiences and still entrances them today. Brahms was also inspired by study of Beethoven s symphonies for their orchestral color and harmonic structure; Brahms incorporates these features he enjoyed into his writing. The fourth movement of Brahms symphony No. 4 is titled Allegro energico e passianato and is known for its use of the Baroque style of Chaconne and other features that are found in the Romantic style as well. Some of these include chromaticism, a melody that jumps between major and minor keys but does not settle into a single mode, and extended techniques to creature a richness and a wide pallet of sounds. The s Control Theory And Merton s Strain Theory Essay On the sunny day of June 4, 2014 in Monkton, New Brunswick, 24 year old Justin Bourque loaded his rifle, drove his truck to a local gas station, and brutally murdered 3 RCMP officers. In the aftermath of this shocking crime, criminologists ask themselves two questions: why did this happen, and even more importantly, how can we prevent it from happening again? Hirschi s Control Theory and Merton s Strain Theory suggest that Bourque s failure to properly bond with our society and his inability to succeed within it directly led to the most extreme form of social deviance: murder. This method used no or low bandwidth communication, and showed good scalability performance. However, the use of this methods is only limited to small area operation, as the range between communication relays and the robots are limited. Proposal For Legalizing Industrial Hemp HEMP FREEDOM: A Proposal for Legalizing Industrial Hemp Cultivation For Earl Ray Tomblin, 35th and current Governor of West Virginia By Jonathon Flight, Co owner of Winkin Sun Hemp April 14, 2015 Date: April 14, 2015 To: Earl Ray Tomblin From: Jonathon Flight Subject: Proposal for Legalizing Industrial hemp cultivation The U.S. government, in all its wisdom, treats hemp and marijuana in the same manner. Despite one offering no psychoactive effects (hemp) and the other offering psychoactive effects (marijuana), both are against the law. Several states have passed laws to allow the growing of hemp; however the federal government has stood firm on the ban for decades, and continues to do so. The time has come for the feds to update obsolete polices and get a dose of reality; it s time to legalize industrial hemp. Did you know Industrial hemp has been grown on American soil since the beginning of this great nation? Did you also know that it s only been illegal for over 70 years now? So why now is this amazing resourceful plant illegal? That s one question that still needs to be answered. In this proposal I will introduce and explain why industrial hemp needs to be made legal to manufacture and cultivate in the United States of America. This plant has huge potential and a growing market in the United States. What makes hemp so valuable? Its uses are virtually endless. But, here s a start: Paper Plastics Clothing Rope Building ... • 27. The Federal Bureau Of Investigation After the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino, the United States government, specifically the Federal Bureau of Investigation was in a dispute with the technology company Apple. The FBI seized the iPhone of Syed Farook who along with his wife Tasfeen Malik killed 14 people and injured 22. Farook and his wife were then killed in a shootout with the police. However, the FBI could not bypass the security code that Farook placed on his phone, and access information within the device. Therefore, the bureau requested that Apple create a backdoor which is a mean of access to a computer program that bypasses the programs security measures. Apple refused to comply with the bureau s request as the company argued that it would jeopardize the privacy of their customers and is an overreach of state power. Thus, the conflict was going to be decided legally, until the FBI canceled the first court hearing with Apple. The FBI was able to unlock Farook s phone without Apple s help through a third party company. But the government s actions set in place a dangerous precedent. By creating a back door, the government is able to access information on any Apple device and has weakened the company s cyber security. To prevent further legal disputes, Congress and the president should create a modern law that can balance the interests of national security and privacy in the 21st century. • 36. Rationalism In Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales The duration of the novels, the characters are seen lamenting their pasts and longing for a future, ready for whatever seems to be awaiting them. The journey that the pilgrims takes and the stories they tell attempts to reconcile their purpose for the journey. At the same time they reconcile their pasts, and not just their pasts but also the past of humanity. The underling issue of the novel is that the characters are unable to properly grieve for their pasts and it is ultimately recreated in an odd, intergalactic colonialism that causes a war. To begin, Pearl is a poem that is contemporary to Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales of which this novel is loosely based on. But Pearl is a dream vision/debate poem about a father who laments the death of his daughter. He falls asleep and has a vision of her as a queen in heaven. They debate about rationalism, but ultimately the debate does not have a real conclusion that comes to a satisfactory end. The emphasis of the poem is that all things are rational through faith whether or not the individual understands. There are multiple dialogues like this in Hyperion. The Bikura have dialogues like this on two occasions, once after they killed Tuk and again while figuring out what to do with Duré after he snuck off to the Cleft.
