Arcadia Group is placed the top four fashion retailer in the appeal market in the UK. (Mintel 2014)
The group has strong connection with celebrities, such as Kate Moss and Beyoncé. The collaborations
always boost the coverage on media presses, as well as increase the sales. (WGSN INSIDER 2015)
Celebrities endorsement can also reach wider customer segment as some customers purchase the
product because of the attraction of the celebrities. (WGSN INSIDER 2015) Moreover, Arcadia Group
has been leading the innovation of digital marketing in the UK. For example, the company co operated

Hennes Mauritz AB engaged across 61 markets worldwide. (H M annual report, 2015) The brands

Opportunities
Working together across the professional boundary might help Arcadia Group to identify new

3. Benzyl Chloride 1a
To verify our hypothesis, benzyl chloride 1a was initially chosen as a model substrate for an
optimization of the various reaction parameters. In this optimization, we investigated the effect of
parameters such as various oxidants additives, bases, solvent and various equivalents of the oxidant
and additive. The results are shown in Table 2. The benzoic anhydride product 2a was produced in low
yield 10% using 2 equiv. of TBHP as an oxidant, 4 mol% of NaI as an additive, 0.1 equiv of K2CO3
as the base in 0.75 mL of chlorobenzene at 120 °C for 3h (entry 1). Also, the increasing of reaction
time for 5 of had no substantial effect on the yield of product 2a (entry 2). Therefore, in order to
improve the yield of product, the effect of other additives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The results are summarized in Table 2. Pleasingly, the results indicated that a range of arylmethyl
chlorides with electron neutral (H), electron donating (Me and OMe) regardless of their position(s) on
the aryl ring, afforded the desired products 2a i in good to excellent yields. Unfortunately, benzyl
chlorides including electron deficient such as p chloro and p nitro groups did not participate in the
cross coupling reaction and desired products 2j and 2k were not detected in the reaction mixtures.
Notably, 1,2 bis(chloromethyl)benzene reacted under the optimal conditions, and the corresponding
product 3l was obtained in 79% yield. Furthermore, the fused ring methyl chlorides 1m o and
heteroaromatic methyl chlorides 1p and 1q applied well under this conditions and gave corresponding
anhydrides 2m r in 75 86% yields. The (3 chloroprop 1 en 1 yl)benzene 1x was also smoothly

4. The Wonder Wom The Transformation Of The Wonder Woman
Published by All Star Comics on October 1941, the day Marston s creation of the first female
superhero revolutionized the world. From a love triangle surged the greatest representation of a
powerful and independent woman, which shaped American society. Wonder Woman a fictional
character that became an icon of pop culture and women in general. American politics from the years
1890s 1980s faced social reforms and new ideals, a dominant force in Lepore s book prove that more
than a decade of strife , influenced heavily the shaping of Wonder Woman. Diana of Themyscira,
daughter of queen Hippolyta and Zeus would bring hope, beyond the fictional world to the land of the
free and home of the brave. Politics in the United States is one of those topics that can have several
meanings depending on who is defining it, thus because many things can influence the person who is
defining it. In this case, it is to be avoided at all costs definitions or words that are hard enough to
pronounce, that is for the analysts, and political science professors, as it has been scientifically proven
that learning is more captivating when it is tied with something or someone we know or have seen
before. First we are going to start off, by mentioning some of the outstanding political sections from
that time period, before we get to the influence it had on the creation of Wonder Woman. Woodrow
Wilson had been elected as president in 1912, he promised a government based on, democratic
principle.

5. The Dj Essay
The Dj Essay, Research Paper
The DJ
About fifteen years ago a culture was born. In Europe a new type of music was being created.
Something new, something fresh. A music fueled by throbbing beats over rattling bass. This is
electronic music. The mastermind behind this whole up and coming culture was and is the DJ. In the
past five years have become more and more popular everyday. Some people who are not aware of this
music or this culture might argue that being a DJ is not a serious profession for various reasons.
Throughout this paper I will prove these notions false. As support I will provide the history of the DJ,
what exactly it is, insight from various DJ s and much more.
It all began about fifteen years ago. In towns in Europe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rock music absorbed House and Techno, and DJ s and electronicists began to tour and act like rock
stars. As one century tipped into another, dance music was still a primary source of interest and
creativity as Trance, a futuristic blend of technology and House and Techno, became a chart topping,
globe girdling sensation ( Prendergast pg 367). Another great more specific example of this is Paul
Oakenfold as written in Last night a DJ saved my life, When Paul Oakenfold plays records in a club,
every person on the dance floor will be facing him. Just like they d face a rock band on a stage. There
s not much to see: a baseball cap maybe, a studious face leaning into a pair of headphones, some
minimal arm movements as he slides in another flawless mix. Occasionally he might throw his hands
up in excitement, smile out in response to a particularly grand track, or share a wink with some
energetic fan, and when he does, there ll be a sea of hands aloft, a breakout of waving and grinning, an
ocean of smiling dancers mirroring his every gesture. For he is a superstar ( Brewster pg 384). Along
with these tours came annual festivals. Huge festivals every year with sometimes over a hundred
thousand people in attendance. Some of these are Love Parade and Gatecrasher(
www.loveparade.com) ( www.gatecrasher.com). Just like any music industry this one soon started

7. The Right Supply Chain
The first step in devising an effective supply chain is to consider the nature of demand for your
product. For this many aspects are important: Product life cycle, demand predictability, product
variety etc. But any product can be broadly classified into as either a Functional Product or an
Innovative Product based on their demand patterns. Root cause for ineffectiveness of any supply chain
is the mismatch between the type of product and the type of supply chain. Functional Products are
generally staples or those generally bought from the grocery stores or retail outlets. They have stable
demands are price variations do not affect the demand drastically. Such products have long life cycles
but they invite competition and usually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
{draw:frame} {draw:frame} {draw:frame} The problem occurs when companies move from
Functional Sphere to Innovative sphere without even realising. They start blaming the forecasting
department and implement unnecessary strategies for cutting down inventories, just in time delivery
schedules etc. They turn the predictable environment into an unpredictable one. After deciding on
whether the product offered id a functional or innovative, managers need to decide if their supply
chain is a functionally efficient one or market responsive one. Most companies introducing functional
products realise that they need to have efficient supply chains and it is rare to find a company in the
lower left hand of the above matrix. There has been an increase in the number of innovative products
attributable to either: 1) Increase in number of competitors 2) Increase in innovative products by the
existing customers to improve their profit margins Companies traditionally try to turn their functional
products into innovative ones but still focus on the physical efficiency of the supply chain rather than
improving their market responsiveness. Taking an example from the Computer manufacturing
industry, the mainframes were dominant technology almost 2 decades ago. The lead time quoted ways
upto two years and the sales team had to convince the customer about the lead time.

The main facts that can affect supply and demand of foreign exchange have been discussed as follow:
Firstly, a country s GDP growth reflects the country s economy to flourish. When the national income
increases, consumption ability also increases. In this situation, the country s central bank is likely to
raise interest rates, tightening the money supply, by which, the country s economic performance is
good enough to rising interest rates and will increase the competitive power of the currency. On the
other hand, if a country s GDP has a negative growth, the country s currency s competitive power will
reduce. Generally speaking, the high rate of economic growth would push their currencies rise, while
low economic growth rate will cause the currency exchange rate to fall.
Secondly, interest rates rise, can make the interest income increased, holding the currency to attract
investors to buy the currency, therefore, support for the currency is good; if interest rates fall, holding
the currency income will reduce, its appeal is diminished. Therefore, it can be said that interest rates,
currency is strong; interest rates fall, weak currency .
Additionally, durable goods orders when durable goods orders both fell more sharply, can reflect the

13. Ghost Soldiers by Hampton Sides (Analysis)
Marek Sulich Mr. O Connor American Literature 1 March 2011 Ghost Soldiers The novel, Ghost
Soldiers, written by Hampton Sides, is a great work of literature, depicting the true horrors of war,
friendship, and the one thing that was never lost, hope. The non fictional book takes place in the
Philippines during the Japanese occupation of the islands from 1942 and goes through three gruesome
years to end in the year of 1945. The book begins with the idea of surrendering Bataan, an American
occupied area of the Philippines, because of the severe amount of wounded and very little defense to
last out or defeat the incoming Imperial Army. General Edward King formally surrendered Bataan and
this marked the start of what would be later called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beating had long been an acceptable and routine method of discipline within the Japanese Army.
Soldiers could strike subordinates with no questions asked and no explanation warranted. The slightest
distinction between ranks was of critical importance because it meant the difference between who
could inflict blows, and who could expect to receive them. This sort of institutionalized brutality had a
tendency to work its way down the ranks to the lowliest private. One can imagine what would happen
when an enlisted man, hardened by this psychology of top down violence, found himself suddenly
thrown into a foreign and not altogether distasteful situation in which he was the superior, in charge of
a group of helpless prisoners. For some, the temptation to beat proved irresistible. For others, beating
was only the beginning. (Hampton 91 92) The Japanese soldiers had no sense of remorse or sorrow for
the prisoners instead they pushed them to their breaking point. Many prisoners collapsed which
proved fatal because if you fell behind you became a practice dummy for the Japanese to sharpen their
bayonet skills and techniques of killing on you. On one occasion, a prisoner was falling behind in the
rear so tanks that followed lined themselves up to run over the victim and squish him into the
pavement to make it look as if he were from a cartoon. Since the Japanese could

Physical fitness has a great impact on a person s body. Exercise provides health benefits, increases

healthy figure of $50,000. Good money requires good planning. First of all I would need a perfect

background but my brother in law has a good experience in this field. I would really appreciate his
help. My gym would definitely need publicity. I ve already contacted few ad companies and flyers
will be distributed around the city in the following month. To make it even more popular I m planning
to invite Mr. Dwayne Johnson, a popular celebrity on the inauguration day which is yet to be decided.

16. Paula Hawkins s The Girl On The Train
Thrillers are one of America s favorite genres of movies to watch. If you are a bookworm, a movie
about a book you recently read can be exciting. One major part of any movie that can make or break
the film is the characters casted. The way we see the character while we read it can be completely
different to the character in the movie. There is nothing more devastating than when the movie does
not follow the book either. The Girl on the Train is the perfect example of this inconsistency. Paula
Hawkins famous thriller The Girl on the Train, was made into a movie in two thousand sixteen. This is
one year after it was written. There were some major inconsistencies that I noticed while watching the
movie after reading the book. Besides the obvious differences such as the way the characters looked
and hair color or skin tone, there were big differences.
The Girl on the Train is a story about a woman named Rachel Watson. Rachel rides the train every day

17. Who Is Oliver Cromwell Executioner
Alena Pacheco HIST 347 Tudor/Stuart England 5/4/16 Oliver Cromwell: Executioner of the Lord
Oliver Cromwell is remembered by history as a radical Puritan hell bent on the ethnic cleansing of
Western Europe. Though he hailed from rather humble beginnings, Cromwell managed to leave quite
a mark on the bloodstained tapestry of Irish history. Despite his initial toleration of most Protestant
sects, his religious conversion to Puritanism in the 1630s shaped a great deal of his foreign policy.
Believing his was a mission from God, Cromwell composed an aggressive but effective foreign policy
of conquest, guided by the Elizabethan model. Cromwell was born during the tail end of the Elizabeth
s reign. With the reestablishment of Protestantism, the disarmament of the nobility, avoidance of
religious wars, and no danger of a feudal revolt, England was poised in an unusual period of peace.
The English victory over the formidable Spanish Armada had secured the nation s independence and
simultaneously removed any fears about radical anti Catholic Puritan revolt. However, troubles
brewed on the horizon. Britain s citizens were exhausted from their lengthy war with Spain and there
had been a string of poor harvests and famine. So while theirs was a time of diplomatic peace, English
men were getting desperate and increasingly uncertain as Elizabeth s death approached. All of the
tension culminated in the Earl of Essex s revolt in 1601. With the revolt easily crushed by royal forces,

18. Historical Significance Of Japanese History
History: Prehistoric Japan dates back to circa 10,000 BCE where the roots of fishing and pottery
making began; however, official Japanese history was first recorded in 1st century BCE (Japan, 2016).
In the 1930 s and 40 s, Japan became more prominent in the global stage due to its participation in the
attack on Pearl Harbor (1941) and the U.S. coordinated Hiroshima bombings (1945) during the World
Wars (Japan, 2016). Since the 1950 s, Japan has been recognized as one of the strongest economies in
the developing and globalizing world. The fact that Japan is an island has historically made it difficult
to invade and has allowed the country to withstand conflict between other countries. This has been
demonstrated in various imperialistic conflicts in certain parts of Asia. Places of Interest There are
many notable places in Japan such as Mt. Fuji, Nachi Falls, Sagano Bamboo Forest, and Aogashima
(Ma, 2015). These places have both historical significance and natural beauty. Mt. Fuji is one of the
tallest volcanoes in Japan (UNESCO, 2013). Life evolves around the dormant volcano, as its large
presence has become an icon and artistic muse for everyday life in Japan (Smithsonian Institution,
2013). Nachi Falls is an orange, Buddhist and Shinto shrine. It is accompanied by a 133 meter
waterfall that has contributed to religious development in the area for the past centuries (Japan

19. Corporate Market Structure Of Boeing
In 2000, Airbus was considering launching a super jumbo jet that they called A3XX. This aircraft
could seat 550 900 passengers, which classifies it as a type of Very Large Aircraft. The defining
feature for Very Large Aircraft (VLA) was that it could hold more than 400 passengers (or carry more
than 80 tons of freight). Boeing was a monopolist in the VLA market, since the only other VLA
available for purchase was their 747 aircraft. For Airbus, the question of deciding whether to launch
A3XX was a question of whether they (a potential entrant) should attempt to break into the market of
an incumbent monopolist (Boeing).
There are three conditions that characterize a monopolistic market structure. First, a monopolistic
market structure is defined as having only a single seller in the market. As of 2000, Boeing was the
sole firm producing VLAs. The second requirement of a monopoly is having high barriers to entry.
Producing aircraft is a capital intensive endeavor. The large costs of production discourage many firms
from attempting to enter the market. For the firms that did try, the cost of failure was high. Other
prominent aerospace companies (Glenn Martin Company, General Dynamics, and Lockheed) had tried
and failed to enter into the market (Esty, 2012, p. 10). The third requirement is that there must be no
close substitutes for the product that is being produced. Boeing s 747 was the only VLA aircraft
available. At the time, the closest similar products were the Airbus

20. Critique Of Noonan Argument Essay
In this article, Noonan discusses the controversial topic of abortion. He examines questions such as
how do you determine the humanity of a being? His thesis is that abortion is always morally wrong
with the exception of extreme circumstances such as a cancerous uterus or ectopic pregnancy. He uses
the assumption that a fetus is always a person, from conception on as opposed to believing the fetus is
not a person at any point. In this paper, I will show that Noonan proves his thesis that abortion is
always morally wrong, based on proving opposing arguments to be unsound. Noonan s argument to
prove that abortion is morally wrong:
1. A human conceptus is a human being.
2. If a human conceptus is a human being, then it is morally wrong to harm it.
3. If it is morally wrong to harm a human conceptus , then abortion is wrong except where the mother
s life is in danger

being. Many of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After he has proven the opposing arguments to be unsound, he begins to focus more on probability as
a factor. There is a four out of five chance that a fetus will develop into a baby. If the probability of
development were different, there would be a considerable difference in the argument against
abortion. He uses the example of shooting at a movement from a bush. If there was only a
200,000,000 to 1 chance of the movement being a human, then shooting would not seem so bad.
However, if there was a four out of five chance of it being a human, shooting seems absurd. The same
theory of probability applies to abortion. Since there is an 80 percent chance of a baby developing
from the fetus, it is morally wrong to harm that fetus without a sufficient reason, such as cancerous
uterus or ectopic

The Impact of Childcare on Children s Social and Cognitive Development
Introduction
Over the years the long term effects of preschool childcare has been a topic of growing interest. The
use of these programs have grown dramatically over the years, and more than half of all three to five
year olds in the United States attend childcare centers prior to kindergarten (Peisner Feinberg et al.,
2001). Many questions have risen overtime on the quality of childcare centers, and the research on
these issues has been extremely inadequate. Do these early childcare centers have a long term impact
on a child s social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What seemed to have sparked interest in this topic were the inconsistent findings on the issue of social
outcomes. Although it has been found that children who attended childcare programs appeared to be
more socially competent than home reared peers, displays of aggression and resistance to adult
requests were also described among childcare children (Haskins et al., 1985, as cited in Phillips et al.,
1987). Phillips, McCartney and Scarr (1987) believed that these contradictory findings differed due to
the quality of the childcare programs. Because a high percentage of children were spending majority
of their time in a childcare setting, and with those programs ranging in quality, Bermuda was chosen
as the site to further this research (Phillips, McCartney, Scarr, 1987). Nine childcare centers that
accepted children from infancy through preschool agreed to participate in the study. These centers
were chosen in respect to the diversity of the children s family backgrounds and director s experiences
in childcare (Phillips, McCartney, Scarr, 1987). A total of 166 families participated in the study, with
criteria being that the child must be three years or older, and attending one of the target centers for six
months or longer. Of the 166 children, 130 were African American and 36 were Caucasian. Nineteen

his thoughts into his writings, which were important to everyday life in everyday life during the
colonial age; important to American norms; and affected the virtues of the self made man.
Some of his widely known writings are his Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin and Poor Richard s
Almanac (Perkins and Perkins, 191). When reading a work by Franklin, one can highlight the
importance of honesty and hard working ethic in life. The article The Way to Wealth becomes one of
the most important business books and had been reprinted as well as translated into many languages

Throughout the advertisement, Geoff would experience life changing events. Getting his first job,
getting married, and having kids. For each major event that happened in Geoff s life, there would be a
can of bean to represent that show of emotion. Heinz uses their can of beans to symbolize that
throughout Geoff s life, he uses his passion for beans to express his emotion. These emotions are
always emotions of joy. Heinz also uses real life situations to relate to the audience. For example,
when his kids would sit alone on the dining table and eat sloppily. Geoff put in the effort to make a
can of beans that would not be spilled once eaten in a sloppily manner. Once Geoff s boy ate the bean
filled sandwich and saw that there was no mess. He decided to sit at the dining table with the family.
Heinz used this scene specifically to symbolize that the can of beans brought Geoff s family together.
Expressing signs of joy as they ate on the dining table. Symbolism could also be found when Geoff s
wife was giving birth. The babies were portrayed as two beans inside their mother s stomach. Instead
of having two embryos. That could also show how the beans brought happiness through Geoff and his
wife s life through ways that are very different from the cans of beans that were portrayed throughout
the advertisement. By using symbolism in their ad. Heinz successfully related to a wide range of
audience. Using success,

Narrative is the root of some fields which includes education, rhetoric, literature, religion, law, history:
culture (Wilson, 1989). It can be seen as a tool to create traditions and symbols as means of
communication and it is a source to understand and strengthen the identity of the organisation (Kroeze
and Keulen, 2013). As a conceptual theme, narrative becomes a self conscious system and a reflexive
field. In other words, the role of narrative in personal lives is to show how it can be utilized effectively
for reflexives practices. In light of this notion, personal reflexive capabilities are a process of exposing
or questioning our ways of doing. It is the method for individual through the mirror that has ability to
take responsibility for their stories and their exploration, and the role of fact in lives. This essay will
focus on how narratives may be reflexively used at different stages, especially history: culture and
education, as a tool to access the frameworks.
In a narrative, the movement from sign to sign has a recognizable social, cultural and historical
significance. Narrative is one of the main elements in history play (Wilson, 1989). It is the mode in
which our culture is transmitted, from fairly stories to political history. Barthes(1987) states that
narrative is international, transhistorical, transcultural and it is simply there like life itself. Narrative
creates the way we see our place in society and the way we perceive is as moulded around us,

D. H. Lawrence, an English author, and William Stafford, an American writer, lived and wrote at
different times but their chosen subjects were often similar. Piano written by D. H. Lawrence and
Traveling through the Dark by William Stafford show remarkable similarities and differences in their
experiences and emotions. Although Lawrence and Stafford are both respected poets, their writing
styles, and expectations for readers differ significantly. While Lawrence maintains a feeling of
nostalgia and remembrances to keep the reader s attention, Stafford s pervasive structure includes a bit
of darkness and suspense for his readers. These astute writers are similar in many ways, but they also
have significant differences represented in their messages and delivery methods within the poems.
Lawrence and Stafford were rebels in the literary field. One of Lawrence s most famous novels, Lady
Chatterley s Lover defied censorship standards, and America banned it until the late 1950 s. Piano
does not fit into the same mold, it is a sentimental and loving poem. Critics often refer to Stafford as a
pacifist and a conscientious objector during the war. Traveling through the Dark follows the general
style used in his poetry. He often delivers messages that are direct and bold. Each poet wrote using
deceptively simple language and ideas. Upon looking at these two poems, the reader automatically
sees fundamental differences. In spite of that, once read and analyzed,

The California Gold Rush was a period of time when thousands of people from all over the world
came to California for gold, some were lucky, most were not. California was owned by Mexico 1600
1846. Mexico soon allowed the U.S. to have California as it s own state, and that is when they found
the gold. The California Gold Rush was a difficult time with the challenges people faced traveling to
California, the way the Forty Niners lived, and the way they used the gold. Thousands of men and
women would bunk on a boat for up to almost a year. When traveling to California, the men and
women on board had to live several months eating old and moldy food, this caused many to die or
become ill. The unhealthy voyage was also very dangerous, they had to go through many storms,
some could even lead to a ship sinking or a person getting thrown overboard. The author stated The

33. Body Shape Of Beauty
In America, beauty has high, superficial standards. Women are especially expected to have the perfect
body shape: tall and thin with a small waist, big breasts, and a big butt. In reality, only about 5% of the
American population has the ideal body shape (CITE). However, women do not randomly come up
with these issues of their bodies out of the blue. Media plays a large role in the standards set for
women. Magazines, television, and social media all use Photoshop or some other editing software to
make women look perfect . The standards set for women in particular are unrealistic and are in turn
making young girls have serious self esteem issues. These standards need to be shattered because
America needs to embrace all body shapes and promote self love instead of self hate. The ideal body
shape for women has changed over the years. Until the 1900s, being curvy and voluptuous was striven
for. During the late 1800s to early 1900s, the Gibson Girl body was all the rage. These women were
the ones that started the tiny waist trend, using corsets to tighten their stomachs. The tiny waist was
paired with a big bust to emphasize the fragile, but curvy body. The 1920s went for more of a lean
figure with a short, bob haircut. During the 40s and 50s, pin up models became very popular. Marilyn
Monroe was the most iconic female of this time. Her body was nowhere near perfect and was fuller.
However, these times were much like the times now, except that artists would draw the model and
give her longer legs, a bigger bust, etc. Today, we have photoshop to do that for us. Once the 1960s
hit, being thin started trending. Twiggy was the style icon of the decade, with her twig thin body and
pixie cut hair. This is still a big trend today. However in recent years, plus size women have started to
be more accepted. With that being said, the plus size women that magazines show are not truly plus
sized, but just a bit larger than the super skinny models. Although men are not in the limelight as much
as women are, they still have undergone changing beauty standards as well. Men have also gone
through body shape trends. During the late 1800s to early 1900s, bigger was better. The heavier a man
was, the more attractive

35. The Themes Of Rita Hayworth And The Shawshank Redemption
The Shawshank Redemption is a prison drama movie released in 1994 and is based on a novella
named Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption . The novella was written by Stephen King and
published in 1982 in a compilation of four novellas which was named Different Seasons. Rita
Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption was the first novella in the book; King called this first
chapter HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL. The rest of the novella chapters had references to summer, fall
and winter. However, King pointed directly to the main theme of the novella by his emphasis on
HOPE. Imprisonment is obviously an isolating and fearful experience. Ironically, after long
incarceration, many prisoners become institutionalized and so used to the bars, the tight schedules and
the prison guards that they become afraid of freedom or even the hope of freedom. As King stated in
an interview, What are we afraid of, as humans? Chaos. The outsider. We re afraid of change. We re
afraid of disruption, and that is what I m interested in. (Lehmann Haupt, www.theparisreview.org)
Both the book and the movie explore these fears, but keep hope alive in the human condition by
describing one prisoner s ability to retain his self worth despite being in a hopeless situation. His
outlook on life, his inner light kept him hopeful that he could become free again.

38. The Perception Of A Infant s Visual System
The phenomena of perception refer to the sensory processes that enables human beings to recognize
and organized the information that is received from the environment. Such process allows individuals
to perceive the world and objects. For such process to occur, theorists research visual perceptual
patterns during the period of infancy. Research has found that there are differences between the way a
newborn infant perceives the world in comparison to adults, as their visual system is not fully
developed at such an early age. An infant s visual system is heterochronus which disables them from
seeing a complete view of the world, compared to adults.
An individual s visual system is constructed by different components. The eye and the brain perform
different functions and go through different processes from the moment light is reflected from an
object to actually obtaining visual recognition. Vision relies on the response of the nervous system to
the light that has been reflected from an object, during this process many parts of the human eye are
active. When a ray of light enters the pupil of the eye, the cornea refracts the lights and focuses the
lights on the lens which focuses the light at the back of the eye in the retina. The retina then converts
the light via optic nerves which enables the information to be processed in the brain, enabling visual
recognition of the image which we see (Wade, 2001). This process is necessary, so individuals are able

based on what they were skilled in. Through metalwork, the Aztecs would make metal objects by
beating thin pieces of gold, silver, or copper, or they would make ornaments and jewelry by pouring
molten gold into basic molds. Their lapidaries carved and polished bright colored gems, such as jade,
turquoise, and quartz, to create mosaics and jewelry, or to decorate objects such as clothing and
weapons. The last form of art the Aztecs practiced was pottery, which was not made with a wheel but
with simple tools. Women would use

43. Essay on Alcohol Advertising
Alcohol Advertising
Exposure to alcohol advertising is an everyday occurrence. Alcohol advertising is persuasive not only
to adults but to those who are too young to buy alcohol legally. Although parents and peers have a
large impact on youth decisions to drink, marketing also has a significant impact by influencing the
attitudes of parents and peers and helping to create an environment that promotes underage drinking.
Alcohol companies focus billions of dollars on advertising their products and still claim that the effect
is minimal. I pose a few questions that are; who are the targets of alcohol advertising? How does
alcohol advertising affect the people targeted by alcohol companies? Finally what actions are being
taken to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Recognizing this important marketing fact, alcohol companies deliberately devise ads designed to
appeal to heavy drinkers. The heavy user of alcohol is usually an addict. Another interesting
perspective on the industry s claim that it only advertises to encourage moderate drinking to those of
age, is that if this were true, and only the 105 million drinkers of legal age in the US consumed the
official maximum moderate amount of alcohol, .99 ounces or roughly two drinks, a day the industry
would suffer a 40 percent decrease in the sale of beer, wine, and distilled spirits. Meaning that if
alcohol companies truly only targeted who they claim they do, they would only be nearly cutting their
profits in half. Besides the heavy drinkers, the young audience plays a great deal to the alcohol
industry. It is no wonder alcohol is appealing to the youth when ads only display very healthy,
attractive, and youthful looking people. Advertising is a powerful educating force in American
Culture, one that promotes attitudes and values as well as products. Ads are now even featuring
characters with special appeal to children. The makers of some 200 consumer products including
stuffed animals, dolls, T shirts, posters, and mugs are dedicated to alcohol. Advertisements have even
gone as far as popular children s movies; one example of this was the very popular Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles movie. The average age which people begin

BSBSCUS402
Scenario Question:
1. I will ask several questions like that: Is there any concerns or question so far? /what features of the
product are important to you? Is that ok if we go ahead? 2. There are several types of loans for
mortgage.
repayment mortgages
interest only mortgages
fixed rate mortgages
variable rate mortgages
tracker mortgages
discounted rate mortgages
capped rate mortgages
cash back mortgages
offset mortgages
No frills mortgage
3. No Frills Loan is the most common and plain way of loans. This kind if loan not only always comes
with basic level interest rates, but also enable clients to borrow the highest amount of money. This is
good for people who have stable income like Sam. However, the disadvantage is that the upfront cost
of about 500 to 600 U.S. dollars, some people s monthly cost of about $5 to $10 between. In addition,
there is no offset account. Any customer may be able to pay the extra cost, in fact must be placed on
the actual loan before it reduces any principle of closing the loan.
4. Sam is entitled to understand the products he chooses and makes decision by himself. Also, he has
to make sure that he understand the products and should tell the broker any concerns or questions.
5. One of the challenges are keeping up with what the customers wants and then knowing how to
exceed those expectations. I discussed with Sam about his expectations for several time before our
meeting by call and email, so I can

46. Privacy Is The Primary Guideline For The Privacy
Privacy in America is developing into a vague set of rules. Each person has a right to privacy, but the
question remains: How much information should be granted to the public ? The answer to this
question varies from person to person. The industries, social networking, protection agency, and
everyday situations create their own ideology of what must remain private.
The Evolution of Privacy To begin, the constitution is the primary guideline for the privacy rights in
America. This may begin to address the problem but it does not set its limitations. Opinions differ in
each individual. During the prohibition period Olmstead was prosecuted for trying to smuggle and sell
alcohol. Police (without a warrant) wire tapped his phone to find ... Show more content on

Examples of Privacy Interference Overwhelmingly, there is so many cases of privacy infringement
that it is rather concerning. HeLa is one of the most provincial and revolutionary cell strain in the
medical field. HeLa cells originated from Henrietta Lacks. Henrietta Lacks was a Black woman in
times of segregation. Her only option for a hospital was Johns Hopkins. She needed to have them
remove a tumor in her cervix. The doctor in charge of pathology at the time was Dr. George Otto Gey.
He asked for tissue samples whenever available. The problem with cells is that they die off rather
quick unless they are in the body still. Henrietta Lack s cells viability was stronger than any other. The
cells would keep reproducing outside the body. Even as Henrietta Lacks has moved on, her cells kept
reproducing. The only mistake that came from this discovery was that the doctors never even tried to
consult with Henrietta on the whereabouts of her tissues. They had taken it without her knowledge and
run tests without giving her information that they learned from them. It was not until the doctors
wanted to run tests on the children that the family even knew. (Skloot 13) This might be because the
family was known to be a vulnerable type. They did not know much what was going on, so they had
just assumed the doctor was doing what was best for the patient. Instead the doctors had more concern
for the industry and

HCI Assistive Technology devices for Specially abled Abstract The Human computer interaction
(HCI) is the study of how people design, implement, and use interactive computer systems and how
computers affect individuals, organizations, and society. This encompasses not only ease of use but
also new interaction techniques for supporting user tasks, providing better access to information, and
creating more powerful forms of communication. It involves input and output devices and the assistive
devices interaction techniques that use them; how information is presented and requested; how the

An architectural analogy would be the ramp or the elevator (as opposed to the stairs), which makes
movement within the environment possible for most people. Design for all involves the principles of
accessibility and usability Since accessibility means removing barriers, an accessible system allows a
blind person to view a web site or a paralyzed person to move the screen cursor without a mouse.
Since usability means minimizing the overload imposed by the use of computers in terms of motor
and cognitive load, a usable system makes manipulation of the system easier. Therefore, design for all
also involves assistive technologies to overcome any impairments of a user. In the context of this
paper, assistive technology refers to the (special) computer hardware and/or software used to increase,
maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities (Blaise, 2003).
Examples of computer assistive technology devices are Braille readers, screen magnification software,
eye tracking devices, and so forth. In spatial accessibly, a wheelchair is an assistive technology device.
A. User Interface Accessibility From the user s viewpoint, interface means the whole system. The
barriers that disabled and elderly people find when accessing interactive systems are mainly related to
the user interface. These barriers reflect the physical difficulties users might have to manage the
devices and the cognitive barriers

48. Hygroscopic Ionic Compounds Lab
Purpose of the Experiment Techniques: The purpose of this experiment is to see how hygroscopic
ionic compounds determine their water of hydration. Hygroscopic compounds are compounds that
have the tendency to absorb water vapor from the air. The technique used in this experiment is to find
out the difference of the mass of the hygroscopic ionic compound before and after heating the
compounds. The instruments used in this experiment is an analytical balance to ensure precision. In
order to use this balance, all the surrounding doors has to be closed. Then, check to see if the unit on
the screen is set to zero and displays the units in grams (g). After that, open the door and place the

Set up the apparatus as shown in Figure 1. Then, measure the mass of a clean, dry crucible and its
cover to 0.001 grams. Record this value in the data table under the category labelled Before Heating .
Then obtain and record the mass, name and appearance of a hydrate sample by weighing 1 1.5g of the
hydrate on weighing paper. Then allow the crucible to rest on the clay triangle ensure it is tipped so
that it does not exactly fit on top of the crucible. Be careful not to tip the crucible towards a person as
there may be escaping gas that are harmful. Next, strike the match to light up the Bunsen burner.
Adjust the burner to produce a blue flame and place underneath the crucible just like Figure 1.
Monitor and changes as the heating is allowed to go on for about ten minutes. Make observations
throughout and record any significant change in color. Finally, turn off the burner and remove the
sample using a crucible tong. Allow the equipment to cool for ten minutes. After that, measure and
record the mass of the crucible under the After Heating section of the data table 1st weighing. Reheat

49. Jules Winnfield In Pulp Fiction
We all wish we were those fan favorites in movies, video games, and books but what if we in a way
are them? Just because we may not come from the same place, look alike, or even think the same we
can still connect with these characters. We can connect through the character traits we share between
each other, because any good character has to have some connection with us in order for us to like
them. The three fictional characters that most represent my personality are Joel for his bravery and
loyalty, Gohan for his love of nature and silence, and Jules Winnfield for his visionary and
philosophical ideas.

In the movie Pulp Fiction, we get an example of his visionary characteristic when he and his partner is
shot at point blank rage but all the bullets miss him. Shortly after the incident he starts preaching to his
partner how all of this was divine intervention and starts questioning whether or not if what he is
doing is right. The movie does not show what happens to Jules after that incident, but we do think that
he decided to retire from his gangster job and walk the Earth. Not only in that scene, but in the last
scene where we see Jules he conversates with his partner very much about why he believes there was
a reason God stopped the bullets and allowed him to keep living. This attribute helps the character
because it helps guide him through his life. At first, he always believe saying a religious quote from
the bible before shooting a man down was something cool but that incident started making him think.
It made him think about the meaning of his quote and it ultimately helps him decide to save a life
rather than just killing them. It enables him to break free from a clouded mind and take a second to
think of the meaning of his life. I have always believed that there was more of a meaning to our lives
than just what we live. Although I am not religious as Jules Winnfield, I still believe that there are
those moments in life that is more than a simple coincidence. Growing up I started looking into
astronomy and what is out there in space but at the same time I was looking into information about
chakras and our mind and how everything is connected. It all made me wonder if there is a greater
purpose for me to fulfill and I truly believe there is just like Jules. There is a reason more important
than money and power that we just can t understand yet

1.1 TITLE
The limitations challenging further integration of information and communication technology (ICT) in
Nigeria s secondary schools: An assessment through secondary school teachers and students.
1.2 REASON FOR CHOICE OF TOPIC
Over the past decade, technology has had far reaching impact on the way we live, changing the way
we work, learn, and communicate even the way we carry out our regular, daily activities (Seifer and
Mihalynuk, 2003). The role of ICT in education extends beyond service learning classes and activities
by providing more effective experiences for faculty, students and community participants (Seifer and
Mihalynuk, 2003).
The need for ICT in Nigerian secondary schools cannot be overemphasized. In this technology driven
era, everyone needs ICT competence to thrive (Adomi and Kpangban, 2010). Although efforts have
been made to ensure that ICTs are available and utilised in Nigerian secondary school. However, the
level of inculcation remains low (Adomi and Kpangban, 2010). Goshit (2006) found out that most
schools, both private and public, do not offer ICT training programmes. The Federal Government of
Nigeria, in the National

occurs. Even though the baby has nothing medically wrong, it could be that the parents did something

Business 302: Management Concepts

The names of Kodak and Fujifilm are well known around the world. They are two companies that
have made a name from photos, film, cameras and printers. They are competitors that started in the
same business and took different paths. Though they shared similar products their management
direction and company direction differed. The differences led one company to be successful and the
other to struggle.
The founder of Kodak, George Eastman, was a photography enthusiast and wanted to simplify the
process of creating photos. Eastman established what was to evolve into the Kodak Company in 1880.

(George Eastman)
The Kodak Company was undisputed in the photo industry until Fujifilm, a Japanese company, was
established in 1934. Since its inception Fujifilm has become a leader in motion picture photography,
audio and videotape and the floppy disc industries. The company also boasts products such as still
cameras, camcorders, photofinishing equipment, paper and chemicals, imaging and information
products for the office and health care markets.
Fujifilm got its start with the production of motion picture film, dry plates and photographic paper. It
was difficult for Fujifilm initially to develop brand recognition due to the market prevalence of the
Eastman Kodak Company. Fujifilm s quality standards were not on par with Kodak and this created a
challenge to gaining any traction. Fujifilm s plan to compete was to develop film and paper that were
compatible with the processing systems used mostly worldwide. By 1969, all of their films, photo
paper and chemicals completely matched these processing systems. With the concentration on the
quality of its products, Fujifilm was able to develop its first film product and a motion picture negative
film which proved to consumers in Japan that Fujifilm was technically proficient and resulted in a
demand for their products.
Fujifilm was able to being exporting film and optical products after World War II ended, they
primarily focused on South American and Asia. There was a great demand
