Out-Traditional Family
The nuclear family, and its out dated definition given by George Murdock, was once considered the
most natural and unquestioned of all family structures. However, as the definition of family
expands to encompass more than just heterosexual relationships with two children, this
unquestioned model is beginning to look out dated. However, a new trend is emerging that is
allowing the nuclear familyto keep its form while still moving into the new 21st century model of
family. It has now become the norm to have mothers in the workforce, but what about fathers.
Where is their change in pace? In recent years the number of stay at home fathers has been
increasing, and with this modification to the traditional family, comes modification in support,...

Ancient Greek Religion s Influence On Western Culture
Religion was present, personal, and direct in all areas of life for the ancient Greeks. They
worshipped many gods whom they believed appeared in human form and yet were endowed
with superhuman strength and ageless beauty ( The Ancient Greek World ). The Greeks also
believed that by pleasing their gods, they would take care of them after they died. Small things,
like prayers, to big things, like animal sacrifices, are just some of the rituals ancient Greeks
performed for their god. The poems by Homer and Hesiod were a major influence on religionback
then ( The Importance of Homer ). Religion was an important factor of daily life in Ancient Greece.
The Greeks gave countless hours worshipping and sacrificing to their deities. It is said that two
Greek poets, Homer and Hesiod, were the founders of Greek poetry, the ones who came up with
the the idea of the gods. There is a likelihood that the placement of Gods on Mount Olympus was
encouraged by Homer and Hesiod, but... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Homer s poems exerted wide influence over generation after generation of western thinkers (

was important to please the gods. If the gods were happy, they would reward you a/o helped
you; if the gods were unhappy they would punish you ( Barrow ). Today, Greek religion is still
present. In art, famous literary pieces, like The Iliad and The Odyssey were made into paintings
and put on pottery. These are pieces are used in worship and for remembrance. In architecture,
temples built to worship gods and goddesses, like the Parthenon, are famous and still used today.
Festivals held in Ancient Greece to honor the gods have turned to tradition; and are still held to
this day. These influences made up life in Ancient Greece and they make up life in the modern

A Study On The Killer Whales
Killer whales were first captured and separated from their family group (pods) to be put display
for the public 1964. After years of research in their natural habitat and at marine parks throughout
the world, it has become obvious that they belong in the ocean and not kept in captivity (Rose).
The stress that killer whales feel at being kept in tanks for the general public s amusement changes
their natural behavior and makes them a danger to anyone who has direct contact with them. I feel
that after so many years of having marine biologists and veterinarians studying these animals in
captivity that little can be left to learn about the killer whales to justify breeding killer whales and
keeping them in marine parks. Killer Whales... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Male killer whales typically live up to 30 years in the wild but can live for as long as 60 years.
Female killer whales typically live up to 50 years but they can live as long as 100 years ( Killers
). In captivity, only a few out of the more than 200 whales that have been either captured in the
wild or bred at the marine parks have lived beyond 40 years (Rose). Female killer whales become
sexually active between 6 10 years of age and males between 10 13 years of age. Female killer
whales in the wild are thought to breed every three to five years and nurse their calves for the
first one to two years. The gestation period for the pregnancy is seventeen months ( Welcome ).
Killer whales are very social animals and are commonly found in pods of as few as 3 to more
than 25 animals including at least one large male. Killer whales typically stay in their pods for
their entire lives. Various pods of killer whales have been observed mixing with other pods either
for social interactions or mating ( Killer ). They communicate through a series of whistle and
clicks, which can be modulated by pitch and multiple harmonics. Pulsed calls are the most
common form of vocalization that resembles squeaks, screams, and squawks to the human ear (
Killer ). Killer whales are actually pack hunters, like wolves, coordinating their attack and herding
their prey into a small area. They are called killer whales due to the fact that

The Importance Of Modern Technology
We are fortunate to live an era where our modern technology makes life convenient in an abundance
of ways. Our mobile devices are necessities for multitasking and getting things done on time with
the added bonus of entertainment to lighten our moods. As time goes on and the next iPhone
becomes more advanced and popular among the masses, our reliance on these technologies become
more intensified. We take for granted the simple and quick easiness of looking something up,

Stanford University psych professor, Walter Mischel, laid down the foundation for this concept
through the marshmallow test. The test went along like this, the subjects were four year old pre
schoolers who were given two options: ring the bell and get one marshmallow immediately or wait
fifteen minutes and earn two. Most of the children tried to wait fifteen minutes but broke around
various times. In the end, around thirty percent were able to delay gratification for fifteen minutes to
be rewarded a second marshmallow. (Delayed Gratification. 2016). With these results in mind,
Mischel was curious about the development of these children for years to come. Would the
differences in their adolescent willpower prevail into their adult lives? And if so, how would it
influence their outcome? Well surprisingly enough, these differences showed drastic results forty
years later. In 2010, Mischel and his colleagues followed up with his subjects. The high delay
children, a term coined by Mischel, showed huge positive growth over time. Children who were
best able to delay gratification subsequently did better in school... had fewer behavioral problems
than the children who could only resist eating the cookie for a few minutes... [and] ended up on
average with SAT scores that were 210 points higher. Furthermore, in their adult life, high delay
children had a high rate of completing college and went on to earn higher incomes. (Lickerman.

A Local Area Network ( Lan )
A local area network (LAN) is a computer network that connects computers in an area with limited
space such as a home, school, computer laboratory, or office building, using network media.
A Wide Area Network, or WAN, is made up of many computer networks connected together, often
over the Internet. In most cases, the networks in WANs all belong to the same company or school.
A Metropolitan area network, or MAN for short, is a computer network that connects multiple other
Local area networks (LANs). An example of where MANs are used, are the networks on a campus
of a university. MANs use different technologies than LANs.
The 5 4 3 rule, also known as the IEEE way, is a design guideline for computer networks using
Ethernet, covering the number of repeaters and segments on shared access Ethernet backbones in a
tree topology.
Depending on the protocols they need to support, packets tend to be constructed in the standard
packet format. Packet formats generally include a header, the body containing the message data,
also known as the payload, and sometimes a footer which is also known as the trailer. The packet
header shows the destination of the packet and often shows the length of the data in the message.
The packet footer contains data that implies the end of the packet, such as a special sequence of
bits known as a magic number. The packet header and the packet footer may contain error checking
information.

How Did Chester A. Arthur The Principle Of American Politics
Chester A. Arthur: The Ripple of American Politics For my presentation, I would like to present a
president not known much in this time and age but one who, in 1880, made drastic changes to the
American government. This man was Chester A. Arthur. The following material is what I have
learned in American Government for only but one year, I have still learned more than what I
already knew at the beginning of my high school career. I have gained a better understanding of
the American political system as well as the history of the system. The second is that I can now
put everyday events that happen and see how they correlate to the political system which affects
everyday life. The last fundamental that I learned was how to do research. As I looked... Show more

It wasn t long until 4 months after Garfield s assassination in that same year that Arthur officially
became President. Some of the highlights of his term as president were the signing of the
Pendleton Civil Service Act which prohibited the firing of workers based on political reasons
and political donations from the employees. This act also allowed specific federal government
jobs be given based on how well an employee does instead of political connections. Another event
was his almost successful attempt to lower the tariffs. He vetoed the Chinese Exclusion Act of
1882, only to have the veto overrode by Congress. Militarily he wanted to have the
modernization of the U.S. Navy (. In conclusion, I applied what I have learned from American
Government to give an informative view into a president who had a somewhat important role in
the American political system 136 years ago which still applies to today. This in return was done

Comparing Kent State And The Living Room War
The Shooting of Kent State and The Living Room War The shooting of Kent State University on
May 4, 1970 marked a point in the war that divided the nation and brought attention to the war on a
scale never seen before. Fighting on the battleground was brought to America s soil through the
power of television and as the battle continued, emotions on the homefront intensified. The
executive decision of President Richard Nixoninitiated the protests and swung the opinion of the
use of military force in Vietnam by his April 30 announcement that he had sent American forces
into Cambodia (Reichard). President Nixon s decision of sending forces into Cambodia sparked
the protests on many campuses, one of them being Kent State, leading to the shooting and killing of
four students, however only two of the students shot and killed were involved in the protests. The

Although producers captured thousands of hours worth of combat footage, they could not push
out all of the coverage they captured, The purpose being not to avoid showing the ugly side of
war, but rather to avoid offending families of war victims (Hallin). The media did not intentionally
try to turn america against the war, to the contrary the media saw the war necessary to national
security. However, as the war continued on in vietnam and watched daily in living rooms across
the country, both the american soldiers and the public became disillusioned as they did not see an

the Day of Judgment. These days are a reminder of how God created the world and responsibility

Analysis Of George S. Patton
George S. Patton was a U.S. Army General, who was know for his grit and toughness. The kind of
guy who was known for pouring his heart and soul into everything he did. He was a man of many
even self contradictory ways: He was a noted horseman and polo player, a well known champion
swordsman, and a competent sailor and sportsman ... an amateur poet... a rough and tough soldier...
a thoughtful and sentimental man. Unpredictable in his actions, yet always dependable... outgoing,
yet introverted. (Charles M. Province)
He was also well known for his controversy and ability to rally the troops. His speech to the third
army was given June 5th, 1944 which was the eve of the allied invasion of Europe. It was a
chance for Patton to shine as a general. He knew he would have to construct a speech for which
listeners and future readers would be struck by his harsh style, while incorporating his unstinting
dependence of profanity. But we must not be led to believe that Patton had not carefully rehearsed
every word, chosen precisely for its desired persuasive effect. Patton s address to the Third Army
repays attentive examination, and, when the problems it is designed to address are identified, its
brilliance and influence will become apparent. Yet, raising soldier s moral raises a challenge: should
a speech be a formal, incorporating articulate words and sentence structure, or should it be vulgar
and rife with profanities? Patton begins the speech by mentioning how much Americans

Every Time after your done cutting hay, you have a lot left to do. First of all, you have to pressure
wash it off. With going through all of those gopher mounds, the haybine gets really jammed
packed with hard dirt and clay and rocks. This by itself takes at least an hour to get done because
there is hay in all the nooks and crannies of the haybine also, so you have to find the hay and try
to blow it out. This is actually a lot harder than it sounds, just take my word for it. Once you are
one step closer to being done, you have to fold the haybine in and park it in the machinery lot.
Now folding it in with two people is quite simple. But when you only have yourself to try and
fold it in, it becomes about 100% harder. There is a rop you have to pull and it is spring loaded,
so you have to quickly pull the rope, sprint onto the tractor, and back onto the block that you place
benefit the tire of the haybine. Like I said before, a lot harder than it may seem. After you try for
the 5th time to run fast enough to the tractor and back into the block, you finally get the haybine
folded in. You can go park it in the machinery lot, and go fuel up the tractor out of the 500 gallon
diesel fuel tank that is on the farm. Once you re all fueled up for the next time you need the
tractor, you can finally go back the tractor in the leanto that is connected to the grainery and pull
the rod to kill the tractor engine. Now you have to go feed your money makers once again. The
cows of course are the money makers. Feed the cows for the second time for the day and you are

Business Ethics And Corporate Morals

Business ethics and corporate morals have been evolving over the years, and continue to do so.

Costco was established on September 15, 1983 by James Sinegal, and Jeffrey Brotman. They

What Are The Elastic And Electromagnetic Properties...
As shown in examples 1 3, the elastic and electromagnetic properties inverted in the individual
inversion have a significant difference in the model structures, and this may be caused by the
accuracy of the initial models, the parameter contrast between the target objects and surroundings,
the choice of inverted frequencies or the arrangement of the acquisition system. Interpreting the
structureof the study areas through these individual inversion results is difficult. However, the
explanation becomes easier when combining these results with the joint inversion. In the joint

4.3 Error comparison
The errors of the inverted models were calculated to quantitatively compare the accuracy of
individual and joint inversions. The errors within the P wave velocity and permittivity model are
basically unchanged in the individual and joint inversions, whereas the error within the
conductivity model in the joint inversion is less than that in the individual inversion. As shown in
the Example 1, the structures of P wave velocity and permittivity model are slightly altered in the
joint inversion. Therefore, the errors in these two models also changed slightly. However, the
structure and parameter values of the conductivity model are significantly altered in the joint
inversion in a way to significantly improve the error of this model. In this joint FWI procedure, the
cross gradient terms are controlled by small weighting factors and cannot dominate the optimization
of parameters. Therefore, the structure of each model will change towards those of other models, if
the enforced structural constraint is beneficial for the optimization process. In contrast, the effect of
structural constraint will decrease during iteration, if it hinders the

The Importance Of Listening As A Servant Leader
Discussion Following this further, we will discuss the remarks of various authors about the
importance of listening as a servant leader, as well as how it is effected by emotional intelligence.
It is also important that we compare and contrast the various viewpoints on this subject, before we
answer the research questions based on this literature.
Listening
First, we will review the literature from various authors on why listening is important as a servant
leader. As mentioned earlier, Spears (2002), illustrated how listening was a critical aspect of
servant leadership, and the first in his list of ten elements which were vital in regard to the
development of servant leaders (loc. 119). This identification as a crucial element of servant
leadership, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Emotional intelligence is a term that Daniel Goleman coined to describe a bundle of
psychological attributes that many strong and effective leaders exhibit (Hill, Jones, Schilling,
2014, p. 32). As described by Hill et al. (2014), emotional intelligence incorporates self
awareness, self regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills (p. 32). In contrast, Covey
(2002) lists only empathy and awareness as one of his ten characteristics of servant leaders.
Daniel Goleman also goes on to mention that leaders who have these traits are more successful
than those who do not. In Goleman s view, people respect leaders who, because they are self
aware, recognize their own limitations and, because they are self regulating, consider decisions
carefully (Hill et al., 2014, p. 32). He goes on to describe how motivation helps persuade others
towards a leader s vision. Finally, strong empathy and social skills can help leaders earn the loyalty
of subordinates (Hill et al., 2014, p.

Business and Management Scenario
Businesses today continue to strive and grow in the industry to keep up with the never ending
changes in the business they need the tools to obtain information that can be used to make
decisions for the business. The decisions to make in a business can consist of knowing what
geographic region to focus on, which product lines to expand, and what markets to strengthen in the
industry. To obtain the type of information that has the proper content and format that can assist
with strategic decisions they turned to data warehousing. It became the new paradigm intended

Understanding Long Term Conditions And Palliative Care
The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate understanding of long term conditions and
palliative care. Nursing care in general entails holistic care and collaborative care of individuals
of all ages, families, groups and communities, whether sick or well (Royal College of Nursing,
(RCN) 2007). Better management of lifelong conditions has been the priority of the National
Health Service since the 1990s. When long term conditions are managed well in the community,
patients can live a quality life without visiting hospital frequently (RCN, 2011). In Britain, six in
ten people are reported to be suffering from long term conditions that currently cannot be cured;
and these people are often suffering from more than one condition that makes their care
challenging. It is estimated that by 2030 the UK will have double the number of people aged 85
years or over, who are living with one or more long term condition (Department of Health, 2014).
This essay discusses the core principles of long term conditions and management. Government
guidelines and standards are also discussed in relation to how these will impact the care of the
patients who are experiencing long term conditions. The reports, guidelines and plans that play an
important role in directing the current nursing system today, are discussed with regard to the
management of chronic conditions and lastly, palliative care and outcomes from the publication

Stanley Kubrick s Dr. Strangelove Essay
Review of Dr. Strangelove, Or: How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
Stanley Kubrick is infamous for his witty films that satire governmental and societal actions
though history. In this film, Dr. Strangelove, Or: How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the
Bomb (1964), Kubrick is once again directing a film that is a biting, sardonic comedy that pokes
fun at the nuclear fears of the 1950s. The screenplay for the movie was written by Stanley Kubrick
and Terry Southern, and was based on the novel Red Alert written by Peter George. In this film,
which is classified as a black comedy/fantasy, technology runs amok and takes over society and
mankind. The irony of the situation, however, became apparent when shortly after ... Show more

Another such loaded name is Jack D. Ripper, which is the name of the US Air Force s Strategic
Air Command s Commanding Officer. The name is symbolic of an infamous English serial
killer. By placing this name with a senior commander in the US Military, Kubrick is attempting
to show the bloodlust that he perceived the US Military s higher levels to have during that time
towards the USSR. Yet another suggestive name is the name of another General in the US
Military. This symbolism is slightly more subtle, because buck signifies a male animal, and turgid
is a word meaning swollen. This name shows Kubrick s suggestion that the US Military had an
inflated sense of self worth during this era. These names serve to both show the director s opinions
of individuals and systems of the time period, but also makes the connection in the viewer s mind
from the male obsession with sex to the male obsession with war.
The next vehicle Kubrick uses to convey his thoughts on the matter is distortion of history. This is
not, however, a vulgar distortion of history intended to misinform the viewer. Instead it is a
purposeful distortion of history through which Kubrick can present a hypothetical situation in order
to get a point across. In factual history, nothing of the sort ever happened as it is portrayed in the
movie. In fact, Columbia

Balanced Scorecard Essay
Balanced Scorecard in reality
Balanced scorecard is a measurement system that takes into financial as well as non financial
information into account. This system strongly affects the behaviour of managers and employees
by aligning their goals to the company s vision. Kaplan and Norton argues in The Balanced
Scorecard Measures That Drives Performance, 1992 that no single measure can provide a clear
performance target or focus attention on critical areas, and by observing and working with many
companies they found that senior executives do not rely on one set of measures.
As mentioned above, the balanced scorecard consists of four perspectives and this measures link
together to create a tool for senior managers to assess the overall performance of the company. In
other words, the balanced scorecard contains outcome measures and the performance derivers of
outcome, linked together in cause and effect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The strategy should be communicated to lower employees, so they have a clear target for actions,
decisions and improvement activities. Therefore information system plays an important role. With
a good information system, unfavourable results can be tracked to the person or activity
responsible. Hewlett Packard uses a metric called breakeven time (BET) to measure the
effectiveness of its product development cycle. ( Klapan and Norton, 1992 )
If companies can improve their operations and satisfy customers, they create a platform to penetrate
new markets or increase their existing market share. Other companies would prefer to
manufacturing new products rather than improving the manufacturing of existing products, it is
important to achieve stability in the manufacturing of new products. If the company chooses to
improve the manufacturing of the existing product, goals must be set for specific

Data Mining of Chemical Analysis for White Wine Quality
Background Wine was once viewed as a luxury good, but now it is increasingly enjoyed by a
wider range of consumers. According to the different qualities, the prices of wines are quite
different. So when the wine sellers buy wines from wine makers, it s important for them to
understand the wine quality, which is in some degrees affected by some chemical attributes.
When wine sellers get the wine samples, it makes difference for them to accurately classify or
predict the wine quality and this will differentiate their profits. So our goal is to model the wine
quality based on physicochemical tests and give the reference for wine sellers to select high,
moderate and low qualities of wines. We download wine quality data set that is the white... Show

Since our goal is to make model to give reference to the 3 categories, we can re defined the
categories into 3 other than 7 and in this way, we expected to gain more reasonable results and
give wine sellers more accurate models to support their decisions to purchase wines from the
wine makers. 3.1 Clustering and redefine data set Considering that clustering s goal is to put
objects that are similar together in a cluster, this matches our goal to make three quality
categories. So we decided to use clustering first to explore if the categories can be parted. Since
the XLMiner just can run no more than 4000 records for clustering, we need to reduce our data
set size to 4000. First, we eliminated the data outside of 3 stand deviation range; then we found
that the quality 5 has about 1800 records which took nearly a half of all records which spread 7
qualities, so we randomly selected 80% of the quality 5 records and quality 5 s dominant effect
would be reduced. In this way the new data set was determined. After the new data set was
decided, we created a new output variable new quality and the values are 1, 2, and 3, each
representing low quality, mid range quality and high quality. The details are showed as the tables
below: Wine with quality 3, 4, 5| Wine with quality 6| Wine with quality 7, 8, 9| Low quality wine|

Self Analysis Of Mirror By Sylvia Plath
Introduction The lyric poem Mirror was written in 1961 by the late Sylvia Plath. This poem was
not published until 1971; ten years after it was written. Mirror was written two years before Plath
separated from her husband and shortly after committing suicide. Mirror speaks freely about
women and their obsession with appearance and aging. In a way Plath used Mirror, in order to
portray what she herself had been dealing with, in a time where she felt the most vulnerable and
insecure as she was getting older. This was a self reflectionpoem from the voice of a third party;
which in this case would be the mirror itself. The Mirror was the main character that would see
many faces, after reading this poem it would seem as if Plath was using the mirror to criticize
women in general for feeling the way they do about their appearance, when in fact the second
stanza focuses on one particular woman, which is believed to be Plath criticizing herself for the way
she felt about her appearance and aging. The theme of women and their obsession with appearance
and aging is portrayed through the use of various literary devices and no specific rhyme scheme,
however, metaphors, symbolism, and imagery are prominent throughout the entire poem.

A Feminist Reading of A P
Gone are the days that humans could live impulsively, only taking physical pain and pleasure into
account when making decisions. Or so one would like to believe. In a display of sheer innocence
and ignorance, Sammy, a grocery clerk at the A P, managed to revert back to the original behavior
patterns of his ape like ancestors. One cannot possibly predict the future of Sammy, given his own
illogical and irrational behavior. But one can, through a careful examination of Sammy s life,

He had only one goal: do everything in his power to impress the girls, making sure they would not
escape the hallowed A P without having awe filled reverence for the grocery clerk named Sammy.
However, from the beginning, Sammy s idealistic dreams of renown had a sour taste to them.
Sammy began his grocery clerk glory days as a victim of his own parents over watchfulness. His
parents had known Lengel, the store manager, for years, and took it upon themselves to get
Sammy a job. Perhaps his parents believed that doing Sammy s dirty work would somehow
shelter Sammy from the so called real world, or perhaps they merely wanted the best for their
son, and getting him a job was their way of giving Sammy what they felt he was due. Whatever
his parents motives were, the end result was somewhat of a loss of Sammy s independence. Given
the circumstances surrounding the rest of the story, it is not unreasonable to assume that Sammy
had felt somewhat dependent upon his parents and did not like that dependence at all. But he had
never faced the right circumstance that may have potentially given him a reason, or an excuse, to
break his ties with his parents and become truly independent. Lengel points out, Sammy, you don t
want to do this to your Mom and Dad . . . You ll feel this for the rest of your life (Updike411).
Despite this warning, Sammy is more than willing to break the unwritten covenant he has with his
parents and attempts

Decriminalization Of Recreational Drugs
Though there are many studies to show that drug use amongst young people have become more

argument is supported by evidence from James Crouch in Opinium Surveys (2015), stating that in
2014 when 2000 UK adults were given a survey on druglegalisation, despite 33% of the population
believing that recreational drugs such as cannabis should be legalised, a high percentage of the

The Importance Of Police Brutalitying In The National Anthem
I. Introduction Did you know, in America today, there are 14,000 recorded incidents involving
police brutality to this day. That s a large number. Day after day, police brutality incidents are
increasing, but is constantly left unnoticed. Although police brutality protest makes major
headlines from time to time, let s be honest, no one watches the news. So how exactly are
Americans supposed to get the message across? How are they supposed to educate the people?
How are they supposed to make it known? Well, the sports leagues have set the bait, and everyone
else is eating it. To kneel during the playing of the National Anthem is an effective and intuitive
way of informing the public of societal problems that exist in everyday society.
II. Body Paragraph #1 What does it mean to be oppressed? To be exact it s a prolonged cruel or

A 401(k) plan, so named for the section of the Internal Revenue Code describing the
requirements, is a savings plan in which employees are allowed to defer income up to a $12,000
maximum (which increases by $1,000 a year from 2003 to 2006, with amounts indexed for
inflation thereafter) (Milkovich and Newman, 2008). Employers typically match employee
savings at a rate of 50 cents on the dollar. Defined contribution plans are more popular than
defined benefit plans in both small and large companies (Milkovich and Newman, 2008).
Historically these plans are faster to vest (the companies matched share of the contribution
permanently shifts over to employee ownership, and they are more portable job hopping
employees can take their pension accruals along to the next job) (Milkovich and Newman,
2008). The second type of plan is an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) (Milkovich and

bought with cash contributions) to participating employee accounts (Milkovich and Newman,
2008). The amount allocated is based on employee earnings (Milkovich and Newman, 2008).

How To Grow Corn Essay
Corn: The Planting Of Growing a crop of corn can be very rewarding. With some hard work and
a little bit of luck, it can be very profitable. Planting corn doesn t sound too complicated, but
knowing how to do it right can be the difference between losing money and making a profit. To
get started planting your field of corn, you will need access to a tractor, a field cultivator, a
planter, fertilizer, seed corn and a lot of farm diesel. Of course, you will need to own some
farmland or be leasing the farming rights from the landowner. If you are fortunate enough to have
farmland with irrigation, it can diminish one of the biggest risks associated with farming. Droughts
or dry spells are unforgiving, and no matter how well you prepare the soil, you will need rain or
irrigation water. Using good farming practices will ensure greater corn yields and a higher profit
margin!
Begin by deciding when to start planting in your area. The planting start date should be determined

To get the first set of rows straight, it helps to set some markers in a straight line from one end of
the field to the other as a guide to follow; this will be best with two people. Begin by putting
something that you can see from the other end of the field, at the other end of the field,
measured out from the edge of the farm to the desired distance. Usually, a five gallon bucket will
do. Then drive back towards the planter and set a marker about a hundred yards in front of the
tractor, measured out from the edge of the field the same distance as the bucket on the other end.
We use cheap paper plates buried about half way down for the markers, they break down quick
in the rain and are biodegradable. We can now have someone drive back towards the bucket and
stop every couple hundred yards and set a plate in line with the others, the person left at the planter
can wave him right or left to help get them aligned as straight as

Climate Essay
2.6 Climate The shrubby cinquefoil coastal meadow mash has a climate that is easily affected
by the Georgian Bay (Lake Huron). The great size of Georgian Bay and Lake Huron can result
in a creation of their own weather system, which is a link between the amount of precipitation
that the Silver Creek Wetland Complex receives, especially as it is located right on the water
line. This lake effect is a result of a cold air system moving across a broad range of warmer water,
and because of the size, the water retains warmth longer than the air. The cold air gradually picks
up water vapor in its lower layer where it then rises as it cools and eventually freezes. Downwind
shores receive the bulk of the deposit from these precipitationpacked... Show more content on

Relating to the ecosystem that is in pathway to these climate changes, these fluctuations are serious
threats as the biotic components are not equipped to adapt to the changing conditions quickly
enough, and therefore may not survive. Climate change will ultimately alter the conditions of the
geological features of soils and groundwater in the natural wetlands by increased erosion and runoff,
along with evapotranspiration during the summer reducing base flow.
2.7 Landscape and Biotic Features The Georgian Trail provides a connection between the south
ends of Silver Creek to the North, where the wetlands lie. This trail is significant as it provides
access to the marsh which is a critical habitat for sensitive marsh bird species. It allows access to
study the forested area, and study of endangered species, such as the western chorus frog
(Pseudacris triseriata) that utilizes the wetlands as a breeding habitat. The deciduous and
coniferous mixed forest covers also provides a suitable winter habitat for white tail deer
(Odocoileus virginianus) who are able to scavenge for nutrients from the swap under a layer of snow
. Because this section of the Georgian Trail lies on the flood plain of the wetlands, it is
susceptible to flooding and other stream based hazards. Part of Collingwood Harbour West is
associated within the Silver Creek Wetlands, which was classified as an Area of Concern (AOC) in

I Want To Become A Neonatal Nurse
In my life I have thought about doing or being a lot of different things. But I think that I have
made up my mind and when I get older I want to be a Neonatal Nurse. The reason as to why I
want to become a baby nurse isn t really exciting. I want to be a neonatal nurse because it sounds
really interesting and it sounds like something I would actually enjoy doing for the rest of my
life. Since I really want to become a nurse I would have to create a couple habits in order to obtain
my goal. The first habit I would have to make is learningto listen to people better. I struggle with
this because my brain is always wondering off and I can t stay focused for a long time. I know
they make medication for it and I have it, I just don t take it even though I should. Another habit I
would needto create is working better with others. I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Water is probably my biggest fear. Not drinking water but giant body of water, like the ocean or a
lake. For some odd reason I always think I am going to drown every time I get in any type of
body of water. I think that if I am going to try and become less scared of water I need to learn
how to do some stuff first. First, I probably need to learn to swim. I know how to Doggy Paddle
but I don t think that counts when it comes to swimming Atlantic or Pacific. Another thing I
need to do is try not to worry as much when I go out on a boat or just go swimming. I get so
stressed to the point that I can t even have fun because I am so worried of drowning. I plan to
reach my goals by doing a couple of things. How I plan on learning to swim is I m going swim
more in the summer in a swimming pool. I would go to a swimming class but I went to one
when I was four, five, and six and it didn t get me anywhere. The second thing that I am going to
do is learn how to relax. Learning how to relax is going to be harder than learning to swim because

Ap Psychology Case Studies
The researchers findings certainly appear to be accurate, but the reliability of certain cases
studied is questionable. For example, ten of two hundred fifty eight respondents reported that
their phantom was perceived as being in a fixed position, and while some ideas as to why this
may occur were postulated, a more specific study of this case would be helpful in their
confirmation (Giummarra et al., 2010). Additionally, the researchers first time finding that
approximately 4% of amputees experienced the proximal portion of the phantom only will need to
be repeated in order to be validated, and, especially, any suggestion as to why this may have
occurred will require further investigation (Giummarra et al., 2010). The breadth and depth... Show

The researchers claim that this is not the case, and that their follow up phone calls only served to
limit the effects of these confounding variables (Giummarra et al., 2010), but only further study,
which has taken into account those factors that necessitated the calls in the first place, will show
whether this is, in fact, true. Other attempts to control confounding variables and biases included:
submitting adjacent preexisting pain, coping, mood, depression and amputation surveys and using
them to support or exclude data; and limiting the potential for human error in data perception by
use of standardized statistical analyses and mathematical standards (Giummarra et al., 2010). The
accuracy and reliability of this study, it being so broad, could have been improved in many ways;
however, the biggest of these seems to be that the survey requires more fine tuning of questioning.
Trends among smaller proportions of the population need to be further examined using smaller
scale, specialized studies, or they need to be extrapolated and tested for again among an even larger
sample size, in order to see whether the presented correlations are consistent. This, however, would
drastically increase the expensiveness of the study. The researchers concluded that the phantom
limb can be generalized as presenting with characteristics similar to those which would present in

Differences Between Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a classic Disney movie that most people know the plot to.
Before Walt Disney turned the tale into a movie, Brother Grimm had their own version of the
tale. Although the two stories had the same storyline there are many differences between them.
The main reason for the differences would be the audiences the creators are attracting. In the
Brothers Grimm version of Snow White the tale starts with a queen who wanted a child. She
had said she want a child as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as the wood of the
window frame (83). The queen had given birth to a daughter who had all of the qualities she had
wished for, but died not long after her birth. In Walt Disney s version of Snow White and the
Seven Dwarfs the tale starts out with the evil queen asking the mirror who the fairest one of all.
The mirror responds with lips as red as the rose, hair black as ebony, skin white as snow
(Disney). The evil queen knew right away that it was Snow White that the mirror was talking
about. In both the Disney movie and the Brothers Grimm tale the step mother/ evil queen is a
beautiful lady, but proud and arrogant (83). When the evil queen found out that she was no longer
the fairest one of all she demanded to have Snow White killed. In the Brother Grimm tale Snow
White is only seven years old when this happens. In the movie Snow White s age is never given
but appears to be older than seven. In the written tale the evil queen

Personal Ethics Vs Medical Ethics Essay
The two key differences between medical/ personal ethics and that of public ethics is who they are
responsible to and why. Starting with medical ethics, providing needed healthcare services to the
individual patient in an ethical and legal manner, operating under a developed and implemented
code of ethic guaranteed by a compliance program to help ensure it carries out its operations in a
legal and professional manner (Torrens, 2008). Personal ethicsare based and conceived from the
moral values obtained and influenced by a person s beliefs and expectations, this can vary from
person to person (ERC; Ethics Work Center, 2010). These personal ethics can be listed as values,
such as integrity, excellence and attitude, and attaching related behaviors to them. They may be
influenced by a personal code derived from the culture they were raised in; i.e. small community,

Public health ethics share some of the same values but differ in regards to whom they serve.
Their intent is to provide equal distribution of resources, with special regard to the vulnerable
groups with in society (Torrens, 2008). This is subordinate to the greater needs of the population
as a whole. This may be at the expense of the individual or portions of society to insure the health
of the entire population regardless of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, or the ability to pay.

  • 2. Out-Traditional Family The nuclear family, and its out dated definition given by George Murdock, was once considered the most natural and unquestioned of all family structures. However, as the definition of family expands to encompass more than just heterosexual relationships with two children, this unquestioned model is beginning to look out dated. However, a new trend is emerging that is allowing the nuclear familyto keep its form while still moving into the new 21st century model of family. After years of research in their natural habitat and at marine parks throughout the world, it has become obvious that they belong in the ocean and not kept in captivity (Rose). The stress that killer whales feel at being kept in tanks for the general public s amusement changes their natural behavior and makes them a danger to anyone who has direct contact with them. The test went along like this, the subjects were four year old pre schoolers who were given two options: ring the bell and get one marshmallow immediately or wait fifteen minutes and earn two. Most of the children tried to wait fifteen minutes but broke around various times. In the end, around thirty percent were able to delay gratification for fifteen minutes to be rewarded a second marshmallow. (Delayed Gratification. 2016). With these results in mind, Mischel was curious about the development of these children for years to come. Would the differences in their adolescent willpower prevail into their adult lives? And if so, how would it influence their outcome? Well surprisingly enough, these differences showed drastic results forty years later. In 2010, Mischel and his colleagues followed up with his subjects. The high delay children, a term coined by Mischel, showed huge positive growth over time. Children who were best able to delay gratification subsequently did better in school... had fewer behavioral problems than the children who could only resist eating the cookie for a few minutes... Packet formats generally include a header, the body containing the message data, also known as the payload, and sometimes a footer which is also known as the trailer. The packet header shows the destination of the packet and often shows the length of the data in the message. Listening First, we will review the literature from various authors on why listening is important as a servant leader. As mentioned earlier, Spears (2002), illustrated how listening was a critical aspect of servant leadership, and the first in his list of ten elements which were vital in regard to the development of servant leaders (loc. 119). Emotional intelligence is a term that Daniel Goleman coined to describe a bundle of psychological attributes that many strong and effective leaders exhibit (Hill, Jones, Schilling, 2014, p. 32). As described by Hill et al. (2014), emotional intelligence incorporates self awareness, self regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills (p. 32). In contrast, Covey (2002) lists only empathy and awareness as one of his ten characteristics of servant leaders. Daniel Goleman also goes on to mention that leaders who have these traits are more successful than those who do not. In Goleman s view, people respect leaders who, because they are self aware, recognize their own limitations and, because they are self regulating, consider decisions carefully (Hill et al., 2014, p. 32). He goes on to describe how motivation helps persuade others towards a leader s vision. Nursing care in general entails holistic care and collaborative care of individuals of all ages, families, groups and communities, whether sick or well (Royal College of Nursing, (RCN) 2007). Better management of lifelong conditions has been the priority of the National Health Service since the 1990s. When long term conditions are managed well in the community, patients can live a quality life without visiting hospital frequently (RCN, 2011). In Britain, six in ten people are reported to be suffering from long term conditions that currently cannot be cured; and these people are often suffering from more than one condition that makes their care challenging. It is estimated that by 2030 the UK will have double the number of people aged 85 years or over, who are living with one or more long term condition (Department of Health, 2014). This essay discusses the core principles of long term conditions and management. Government guidelines and standards are also discussed in relation to how these will impact the care of the patients who are experiencing long term conditions. The reports, guidelines and plans that play an important role in directing the current nursing system today, are discussed with regard to the management of chronic conditions and lastly, palliative care and outcomes from the publication Together for Health Delivering End of Life Care (2013) ... Stanley Kubrick s Dr. Strangelove Essay Review of Dr. Strangelove, Or: How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) Stanley Kubrick is infamous for his witty films that satire governmental and societal actions though history. In this film, Dr. Strangelove, Or: How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964), Kubrick is once again directing a film that is a biting, sardonic comedy that pokes fun at the nuclear fears of the 1950s. The screenplay for the movie was written by Stanley Kubrick and Terry Southern, and was based on the novel Red Alert written by Peter George. The name is symbolic of an infamous English serial killer. By placing this name with a senior commander in the US Military, Kubrick is attempting to show the bloodlust that he perceived the US Military s higher levels to have during that time towards the USSR. Yet another suggestive name is the name of another General in the US Military. This symbolism is slightly more subtle, because buck signifies a male animal, and turgid is a word meaning swollen. This name shows Kubrick s suggestion that the US Military had an inflated sense of self worth during this era. These names serve to both show the director s opinions of individuals and systems of the time period, but also makes the connection in the viewer s mind from the male obsession with sex to the male obsession with war. The next vehicle Kubrick uses to convey his thoughts on the matter is distortion of history. This is not, however, a vulgar distortion of history intended to misinform the viewer. Instead it is a purposeful distortion of history through which Kubrick can present a hypothetical situation in order to get a point across. When wine sellers get the wine samples, it makes difference for them to accurately classify or predict the wine quality and this will differentiate their profits. So we decided to use clustering first to explore if the categories can be parted. Since the XLMiner just can run no more than 4000 records for clustering, we need to reduce our data set size to 4000. First, we eliminated the data outside of 3 stand deviation range; then we found that the quality 5 has about 1800 records which took nearly a half of all records which spread 7 qualities, so we randomly selected 80% of the quality 5 records and quality 5 s dominant effect would be reduced. In this way the new data set was determined. This poem was not published until 1971; ten years after it was written. Mirror was written two years before Plath separated from her husband and shortly after committing suicide. Mirror speaks freely about women and their obsession with appearance and aging. In a way Plath used Mirror, in order to portray what she herself had been dealing with, in a time where she felt the most vulnerable and insecure as she was getting older. This was a self reflectionpoem from the voice of a third party; which in this case would be the mirror itself. The Mirror was the main character that would see many faces, after reading this poem it would seem as if Plath was using the mirror to criticize women in general for feeling the way they do about their appearance, when in fact the second stanza focuses on one particular woman, which is believed to be Plath criticizing herself for the way she felt about her appearance and aging. The theme of women and their obsession with appearance and aging is portrayed through the use of various literary devices and no specific rhyme scheme, however, metaphors, symbolism, and imagery are prominent throughout the entire poem. His parents had known Lengel, the store manager, for years, and took it upon themselves to get Sammy a job. Perhaps his parents believed that doing Sammy s dirty work would somehow shelter Sammy from the so called real world, or perhaps they merely wanted the best for their son, and getting him a job was their way of giving Sammy what they felt he was due. Whatever his parents motives were, the end result was somewhat of a loss of Sammy s independence. But he had never faced the right circumstance that may have potentially given him a reason, or an excuse, to break his ties with his parents and become truly independent. • 42. How To Grow Corn Essay Corn: The Planting Of Growing a crop of corn can be very rewarding. With some hard work and a little bit of luck, it can be very profitable. Planting corn doesn t sound too complicated, but knowing how to do it right can be the difference between losing money and making a profit. To get started planting your field of corn, you will need access to a tractor, a field cultivator, a planter, fertilizer, seed corn and a lot of farm diesel. Of course, you will need to own some farmland or be leasing the farming rights from the landowner. If you are fortunate enough to have farmland with irrigation, it can diminish one of the biggest risks associated with farming. Droughts or dry spells are unforgiving, and no matter how well you prepare the soil, you will need rain or irrigation water. Using good farming practices will ensure greater corn yields and a higher profit margin! Begin by deciding when to start planting in your area. The planting start date should be determined by when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To get the first set of rows straight, it helps to set some markers in a straight line from one end of the field to the other as a guide to follow; this will be best with two people. Begin by putting something that you can see from the other end of the field, at the other end of the field, measured out from the edge of the farm to the desired distance. Usually, a five gallon bucket will do. Then drive back towards the planter and set a marker about a hundred yards in front of the tractor, measured out from the edge of the field the same distance as the bucket on the other end. We use cheap paper plates buried about half way down for the markers, they break down quick in the rain and are biodegradable. We can now have someone drive back towards the bucket and stop every couple hundred yards and set a plate in line with the others, the person left at the planter can wave him right or left to help get them aligned as straight as ... • 43. Climate Essay 2.6 Climate The shrubby cinquefoil coastal meadow mash has a climate that is easily affected by the Georgian Bay (Lake Huron). The great size of Georgian Bay and Lake Huron can result in a creation of their own weather system, which is a link between the amount of precipitation that the Silver Creek Wetland Complex receives, especially as it is located right on the water line. This lake effect is a result of a cold air system moving across a broad range of warmer water, and because of the size, the water retains warmth longer than the air. The cold air gradually picks up water vapor in its lower layer where it then rises as it cools and eventually freezes. Downwind shores receive the bulk of the deposit from these precipitationpacked... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Relating to the ecosystem that is in pathway to these climate changes, these fluctuations are serious threats as the biotic components are not equipped to adapt to the changing conditions quickly enough, and therefore may not survive. Climate change will ultimately alter the conditions of the geological features of soils and groundwater in the natural wetlands by increased erosion and runoff, along with evapotranspiration during the summer reducing base flow. 2.7 Landscape and Biotic Features The Georgian Trail provides a connection between the south ends of Silver Creek to the North, where the wetlands lie. This trail is significant as it provides access to the marsh which is a critical habitat for sensitive marsh bird species. It allows access to study the forested area, and study of endangered species, such as the western chorus frog (Pseudacris triseriata) that utilizes the wetlands as a breeding habitat. The deciduous and coniferous mixed forest covers also provides a suitable winter habitat for white tail deer (Odocoileus virginianus) who are able to scavenge for nutrients from the swap under a layer of snow . Because this section of the Georgian Trail lies on the flood plain of the wetlands, it is susceptible to flooding and other stream based hazards. Part of Collingwood Harbour West is associated within the Silver Creek Wetlands, which was classified as an Area of Concern (AOC) in 1977 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Ap Psychology Case Studies The researchers findings certainly appear to be accurate, but the reliability of certain cases studied is questionable. For example, ten of two hundred fifty eight respondents reported that their phantom was perceived as being in a fixed position, and while some ideas as to why this may occur were postulated, a more specific study of this case would be helpful in their confirmation (Giummarra et al., 2010). Additionally, the researchers first time finding that approximately 4% of amputees experienced the proximal portion of the phantom only will need to be repeated in order to be validated, and, especially, any suggestion as to why this may have occurred will require further investigation (Giummarra et al., 2010). The breadth and depth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The researchers claim that this is not the case, and that their follow up phone calls only served to limit the effects of these confounding variables (Giummarra et al., 2010), but only further study, which has taken into account those factors that necessitated the calls in the first place, will show whether this is, in fact, true. Other attempts to control confounding variables and biases included: submitting adjacent preexisting pain, coping, mood, depression and amputation surveys and using them to support or exclude data; and limiting the potential for human error in data perception by use of standardized statistical analyses and mathematical standards (Giummarra et al., 2010). The accuracy and reliability of this study, it being so broad, could have been improved in many ways; however, the biggest of these seems to be that the survey requires more fine tuning of questioning. Trends among smaller proportions of the population need to be further examined using smaller scale, specialized studies, or they need to be extrapolated and tested for again among an even larger sample size, in order to see whether the presented correlations are consistent. This, however, would drastically increase the expensiveness of the study. The researchers concluded that the phantom limb can be generalized as presenting with characteristics similar to those which would present in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. Differences Between Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a classic Disney movie that most people know the plot to. Before Walt Disney turned the tale into a movie, Brother Grimm had their own version of the tale. Although the two stories had the same storyline there are many differences between them. The main reason for the differences would be the audiences the creators are attracting. In the Brothers Grimm version of Snow White the tale starts with a queen who wanted a child. She had said she want a child as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as the wood of the window frame (83). The queen had given birth to a daughter who had all of the qualities she had wished for, but died not long after her birth. In Walt Disney s version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs the tale starts out with the evil queen asking the mirror who the fairest one of all. The mirror responds with lips as red as the rose, hair black as ebony, skin white as snow (Disney). The evil queen knew right away that it was Snow White that the mirror was talking about. In both the Disney movie and the Brothers Grimm tale the step mother/ evil queen is a beautiful lady, but proud and arrogant (83). When the evil queen found out that she was no longer the fairest one of all she demanded to have Snow White killed. In the Brother Grimm tale Snow White is only seven years old when this happens. In the movie Snow White s age is never given but appears to be older than seven. In the written tale the evil queen ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
