3. RESEARCH
For my research I felt like going for a song that has a
meaning behind it.
I was first going for the song “OK” from Mabel ;The song
talks about people with anxiety especially social anxiety
and the fact that we shouldn’t pretend to be fine as it is
‘Okay not to be okay’ and in the end everything will be
alright.
However, when I came across the song “Brown skin girl”
from Beyonce I though that it would be a better song to go
for as unlike Mabel’s song I can really relate to “Brown skin
girl” on a personal level.
“Brown skin girl “ encourages young girls to love their
skin- particularly in a culture that often upholds lighter
skin as the standard of beauty as colorism is still an issue
in the black community.

4. PLANNING
For my planning I texted my friends to ask if they would
like to be in my music video then I went on Youtube and
watched different music videos based on my chosen
song. I wrote down all the things that I liked in the video
and created a mind map based on my initial ideas
I also made a story board based on my initial idea before
planning the days that im going to shoot.

5. TIME MANAGEMENT
I started this project a bit late so I did the case study and
the Idea generation together during week 3 then I went
straight into my planning and pre-production.I did that
until half-term so that during half-term I would have
enough time to shoot the shots I need for my video
The first week back from half-term I focused on editing
my music video and that weekend I shot a few more clips
as I didn’t shoot enough during half term.
On week 7, I finished editing before focusing on my
evaluation

6. TECHNICAL QUALITIES -
CAMERA
I wasn’t able to get ahold of a camera so I just
used my phone.
On my phone the lighting was not that good
but it still turned out quite well
I also couldn’t get ahold of lightings so I did it
all with my phone

7. TECHNICAL QUALITIES –
EDITING/POST
Editing the video was not that difficult .
I never used Premiere Pro before but it was
easy to manipulate

8. AUDIENCE APPEAL
My music video can be watched by any age group as it is
family based without anything inappropriate.
Although it would attract more teens from 13-19 as it is at
that age that they would feel insecure;
They might feel like they don’t belong or feel different
because of their skintone

What did you like about the product?
 I liked the use of the reversing in some videos as it goes with the beat
and the tempo is quite fast at parts which is good with the videos as
they sync really well and I love the use of friends and family in the
video as it creates a more understanding towards the lyrics
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
 You could add or focus on specific people more maybe even do it in a
age order type way to show generation to sync it more with the video
 Overall really enjoyed as it was amazing

What did you like about the product?
I liked how there was a range of clips and how some of the clips
rewind and fast forward throughout the music video. I also like how
the clips go well with the song and that none of the clips are too slow
or too fast.
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
I think one improvement would be to add some effects eg spirals etc.
to help make the video stand out a little more
Overall after reviewing the music video I think that it is really good and
enjoyable to watch :)

What did you like about the product?
I like the fact that you have used a remix instead of the actual studio
song, it fits nicely with the video. I like the shots, and the different
angles used. The editing is done well, as it cuts from person to person
in time with the music. I like the age range of the people used, rather
then using just one age group, lots are included.
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
 Some of the cuts could have been cut shorter, but it was really good
altogether

13. PEER FEEDBACK
SUMMARY
 I agree with the fact that most of my shots goes with the beat and the
tempo is quite fast at parts which makes it more intertaining. Also,
the use of friends and family as it creates a beter understanding of
the song
 I also could have cut some of the cuts shorter
 However, i don’t think that I should add some effects as it will be too
much editing
