The document describes the process of creating a music video on a tight timeline. The original plan fell through due to equipment and actor availability issues. As a backup, the creator filmed scenes in the studio with two new actors, focusing on dancing, communicating, and arguments. Peer feedback noted that some shots could be improved by re-shooting instances where the actors broke character. The creator agreed that re-shooting blurred or smiling shots would enhance the professionalism of the final product.

3. RESEARCH
Unfortunately I was unable to shoot my original plan that
I spent lots of time planning including, drawings, story
boards, research and locations research. It was unable to
work as the first problem was I could not get the kit from
college in time due to everyone wanting the kit at similar
times so was sold out. Also another big factor in why I
could not shoot was the main actor in the the plan was
unable to shoot throughout the week as I planned. This
was due to him being at work. Also it is hard to get
commitment/ get motivation from someone if they don’t
seek any reward from it like cash for example. So for the
Music Video I went to plan B, this including two new
fresh faces, Ben and Ryan. We shot mostly all the scenes
in the studio, with scenes of the dancing, communicating
and arguments. The rest of the shots (only 2) where shot
on the drive to college. All of these scenes where shot in
4. PLANNING
I planned to film all the music video due to the short
time scale I had from running out off time hoping my
original plan would work. So in the morning realising I
could not film my original idea I grabbed my camera
from home and record a couple short clips of the front
window of the car I travelled with to college and got a
shot of my friend Jack’s shoes walking. This was for my
intro to the song. The rest of the clips where all last
minute and used two of my class mates, Ryan and Ben.
We used the studio and a tripod and had fun with it
really. Planned out to do shots including, dancing,
arguments and throwing a panini away.
5. TIME MANAGEMENT
My time management for this project was very bad. This
was due to unable to book kit in time, not able to get the
people I needed to be free when I was able. Due to this I
had to shoot the video all in one day.
6. TECHNICAL QUALITIES -
CAMERA
(Lucid Dreams – Juice WRLD)
Similarities - both eerie with solo actor. Also dark edit and straight
from a different scene.
Differences – Juice WRLD is slightly brighter with a shadow. Also is
more zoomed into his face compared to mine
7. TECHNICAL QUALITIES –
EDITING/POST
(Panini – Lil Nas X)
Similarities – Both scenes are with the main actor dancing to the
same part of the Music Video. Also both pieces link to Robots
Differences – The Panini video has back up dancers and mine does
not. Also I edited mine to 4 different boxes and the Panini video is
only one.
8. AESTHETIC QUALITIES
The original plan for this
scene is for Ben to open up
his phone with Ryan waving
and getting scared. However I
ended up changing it to the
end scene which I believe is
better.
I believe it looks good and
can’t really be improved.
This scene is a simple idea
of Ryan and Ben dancing. I
believe it could easily be
improved by simply using
different locations.
Also the shadow in the
middle doesn't’t look very
good.
9. AUDIENCE APPEAL
• How have you appealed to your
target audience? What specific bits
of content would appeal to your
target audience.
• Refer to your findings from your
questionnaire.
• Put your final piece(s) in the centre
of a page and analyse them
• Use text boxes and arrows
My target audience was planned to young people aged between 12-
19 years old, which I believe I preformed. I took two screenshots
from my Music Video of Ben, Ollie and Ryan dancing and having fun
with it. Which would appeal to my age range as it shows them having
a good time. Also certain dance moves they did are “in fashion” to
my target audience.
11. FEEDBACK 1
What did you like about the product?
I like how the videos are edited in different forms and he inverted
colours at the end. I like that the video is fun and not serious as it
would not work with a serious video/storyline.
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
Some of the shots could have been cut shorter to add to pace but it
was all round well shot and edited
12. FEEDBACK 2
What did you like about the product?
The quick jump cuts fits with the fast paced music really
well and makes the video easy to watch and does not
make it boring. The story telling is very good throughout
and keeps its structure through each shot.
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
With some shots you can see the actors break smiles and
character which ruins some shots, this could be improved
to help the story telling through the music video. Some
shots are out of focus too which could be fixed with a
quick retake but overall the music video is good and fun
to watch.
13. FEEDBACK 3
What did you like about the product?
I liked that the music video reflected on the original music with the
same concept. E.g someone trying to get another's attention, getting
declined and appearing everywhere. Also a differentiation of shots to
show a change in location even though they are all in the studio. Use
of a different backdrop to change the shot I also like.
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
Could’ve reshot some of the shots as the actors break a
smile occasionally and defeat the object of the thing
they’re trying to perform.
14. PEER FEEDBACK
SUMMARY
What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
I agree with the re shoot needed when Ryan and Ben
break there acting and begin to smile. Also I agree that I
should have re shot some of the clips where it was
blurry.
What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
I disagree with feedback 1 when he says that the clips
should have been shortened to add pace. I believe the
pace of the audio with the video goes well.
15. PEER FEEDBACK
SUMMARY
The first thing I would change is I would defiantly re shoot a few
shots. Mainly the ones where both actors begin to smile. This is
because it doesn't’t look professional and doesn't’t look good at all. I
would also re shoot the scenes where the camera wouldn't focus. The
reason why it wouldn't’t focus is because the camera was on Manual
Focus, but now its on Automatic Focus so would be very easy to
focus now.
