The human musculoskeletal system allows for movement through the interaction of bones, muscles, and joints. It is composed of the skeletal system, made up of bones that provide structure, support, and protection to the body; the muscular system, containing muscles that pull bones to enable movement; and joints, ligaments, and tendons that connect bones and muscles to facilitate motion. Together, these subsystems work in tandem to provide form, support, stability, and a range of movements to the human body.
