 Define and differentiate the commonly used
  terms is Assessment
 Discuss the Common Characteristics and
  Differences between Norm-Referenced Test
  and Criterion-Referenced Test
 Enumerate and Explain the Different Types
  of Assessment
 Assessment – refers to the process of
  gathering, describing, or qualifying
  information about the students performance.
 Measurement – is a process of obtaining an
numerical description of the degree to which

  performance of the student.
 Test – is an instrument or systematic
procedure design that measures the quality,
skill, ability or knowledge of the student by
giving a set of question in a uniform manner.
 Testing – is a method used to measure the
level of achievement or performance of the
  learners.
 A test designed to measure the
    performance of the student compared
with other students. Each individual is
    compared with other examinees and
assigned a score, usually expressed as a

performance of the student with respect
t some particular criterion or standard.
Each individual is compared to the
    predetermined set of standard for
    acceptable achievement.

 Emphasizes discrimination  Emphasizes among
among individuals in terms of individuals can and cannot
    relative learning

 A. Placement Assessment – Concerned with
the entry performance of the student. This is
to determine the pre-requisite skills and
degree of mastery on the course objective.
 B. Diagnostic Assessment– A type od
assessment given before instruction. It aims
to identify the students weaknesses and
strengths regarding to the topic that will be
  discussed.
 Formative Assessment – A type of
assessment used to monitor the learning
progress of the student during or after the
  instruction.
