This document describes modeling and fuzzy logic control of the pitch of a wind turbine. It begins with an introduction to wind energy and the need for pitch control to reduce loads on turbine blades. It then presents the mathematical modeling of a wind turbine system including the pitch actuator and drive train models. Next, it discusses implementation of conventional PID control and fuzzy logic control for pitch angle regulation. Simulation results show that the fuzzy logic controller provides better performance than PID control in terms of settling time and overshoot.
This paper aims to design the pitch angle control based on proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controller combined with fuzzy logic for small-scale wind turbine systems. In this control system, the pitch angle is controlled by the PID controller with their parameter is tuned by the fuzzy logic controller. This control system can compensate for the nonlinear characteristic of the pitch angle and wind speed. A comparison between the fuzzy-PID-controller with the conventional PID controller is carried out. The effectiveness of the method is determined by the simulation results of a small wind turbine using a permanent magnet generator (PMSG).

Sliding mode performance control applied to a DFIG system for a wind energy p...IJECEIAES
This project presents a strategy of field control then sliding mode control put in to the conversion process of wind energy containing an asynchronous generator with double fed (DFAG; DFIG). A model was developed for each component of the wind turbine (turbine, DFAG and cascade rectifierinverter). MPPT device must be introduced in order to obtain maximum energy efficiency so that PI-MPPT method is made. The objective is to apply this command to control independently the active and reactive powers generated by the asynchronous generator uncoupled by orientation from the flow. The results of digital simulations obtained show the improvement of the performances of the sliding control compared to the field control, also it has provided information on the commands available techniques as reference tracking and robustness.
PSO-Backstepping controller of a grid connected DFIG based wind turbine IJECEIAES
The paper demonstrates the feasibility of an optimal backstepping controller for doubly fed induction generator based wind turbine (DFIG). The main purpose is the extract of maximum energy and the control of active and reactive power exchanged between the generator and electrical grid in presence of uncertainty. The maximum energy is obtained by applying an algorithm based on artificial bee colony approach. Particle swarm optimization is used to select optimal value of backstepping’s parameters. The simulation is carried out on 2.4 MW DFIG based wind turbine system. The optimized performance of the proposed control technique under uncertainty parameters is established by simulation results.
Suppression of frequency fluctuations in Hybrid Power System using Pitch-Angl...ijtsrd
This study presents the modelling and dynamic simulation of a high penetration wind diesel power system (WDPS) consisting of a diesel generator (DG) and a wind turbine generator (WTG). First the WDPS architecture and the models of the WDPS components are described. The WDPS is simulated in wind-only (WO) mode where the DG is not running and the WTG supply active power and in wind-diesel (WD) mode where both DG and WTG supply power. The simulation results are given showing graphs of the main electric variables in the WDPS (system frequency and voltage and active power in each component). Pitch angle controller is proposed which enables the wind turbine to regulate its active power in order to retain the frequency within prescribed limits. The pitch angle control enables the WT to smooth the load and wind power variations, so that the isolated system power quality is improved. The results shows that the WDPS incorporating pitch angle controller gives better results in terms of frequency regulation. The purpose of this work is to present the advantages of the power control (active and reactive) of a wind energy system in order to improve the quality of the energy produced to the grid by presenting two control strategies applied to the conversion system of wind energy equipped with an asynchronous generator with dual power supply. Both techniques are studied and developed and consist of a field control (FOC) and a sliding mode control. They find their strongest justifications for the problem of using a nonlinear control law that is robust to the uncertainties of the model. The goal is to apply these two commands to independently control the active and reactive powers generated by the decoupled asynchronous machine by flow orientation. Thus, a study of these commands will be detailed and validated in the Matlab / Simulink environment with the simultaneous use of the "Pitch Control" and "Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)" techniques. The results of numerical simulations obtained show the increasing interest of the two controls in the electrical systems. They also attest that the quality of the active and reactive powers and voltages of the wind system is considerably improved.

Study of Characteristics of DFIG Based Wind TurbineIJMTST Journal
In this paper the study of active power, reactive power, stator current, rotor current and grid voltage characteristics of doubly fed induction generator based wind turbine are studied. The pulses for the stator and rotor are applied by using a hysteresis current controller. The main drawback of wind energy conversion system is that it is highly nonlinear. To overcome this problem a fuzzy controller on rotor side and a discrete PID controller on stator side are applied. The active and reactive powers are controlled by this nonlinear strategy. The active power is maximized by these both controllers. The entire simulation is conducted on mat lab/simulink. The results obtained are satisfactory.
Cuckoo search algorithm based for tunning both PI and FOPID controllers for ...IJECEIAES
Wind Energy has received great attention in this century. It influences the new power systems, adding new challenges to the power system expansion problem. Nowadays, double feed induction generator (DFIG) wind turbines are used majorly in wind farms, due to their advantages over other types. Therefore, the analysis of the system using this type has become very important. In this paper, a wind turbine modelling was introduced with suggested controllers, in order to enhance the system response, with respect to both pitch control and maximum output power. Cuckoo search algorithm (CSA), a meta-heuristic optimization technique, was implemented to determine the gains of a proportional-integral (PI) controller and fractional order proportional-integral-derivative (FOPID) controller to optimize the system, which considered three control loops: pitch, rotor-side converter, and grid-side converter control loop. Simulation results were determined using MATLAB/Simulink. The comparative analysis of the results showed that the PI Controller gave the simplest and the best response in case of the pitch and rotor-side control loops while the FOPID was the best when applied to the grid-side control loop. Based on the results and discussion, a suggestion of using a compination of each controller was introduced.

Effcacious pitch angle control of variable-speed wind turbine using fuzzy bas...Kashif Mehmood
The Wind energy is more reliable and speedier growing, among the renewable energy resources, due to the world
environment challenges as well as increasing demand for energy. The wind turbine system’s stability is cumbersome due to the
uneven distribution of wind. Centrifugal and gravitational loads on the blades of a wind turbine creates weariness, resultantly
decreases the power output along with the life of the equipment. Therefore, the need for a pitch angle control that can reduce
the loading effect in addition to provide maximal power output. This paper proposes the fuzzy based model-predictive controller
of pitch angle control to minimize the loading effect on wind turbine by limiting power output and rotor speed to its rated
value as well as to maximize the extracted power output as compared to other techniques. The fuzzy logic controller works
very effciently by encountering the system’s non-linearity while model predictive controller helps the system to become more
stable and effcient. The superiority of prescribed controller is verifed by comparing it with PI controller. The proposed model
has been tested in MATLAB/Simulink using a 3MW wind turbine system.
This paper describes the design and implementation of Hardware in the Loop (HIL) system D.C. motor based wind turbine emulator for the condition monitoring of wind turbines. Operating the HIL system, it is feasible to replicate the actual operative conditions of wind turbines in a laboratory environment. This method simply and cost-effectively allows evaluating the software and hardware controlling the operation of the generator. This system has been implemented in the LabVIEW based programs by using Advantech- USB-4704-AE Data acquisition card. This paper describes all the components of the systems and their operations along with the control strategies of WTE such as Pitch control and MPPT. Experimental results of the developed simulator using the test rig are benchmarked with the previously verified WT test rigs developed at the Durham University and the University of Manchester in the UK by using the generated current spectra of the generator. Electric subassemblies are most vulnerable to damage in practice, generator-winding faults have been introduced and investigated using the terminal voltage. This wind turbine simulator can be analyzed or reconfigured for the condition monitoring without the requirement of actual WT’s.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
