Operations Management Comparing Servicing Industry and...
The main factor that differentiates products from services is tangibility. Although these industries have
different operations, as we are moving towards a world that is more and more service based it is
observed that operations management theories, approaches and other methodologies used in
manufacturing can mostly be modelled to work in the service industry. In this essay we will be
contrasting some principles of operations management between Ford Motor Company and McDonald
s, two succesful multinational companies with prominent operations functions.
a)
When it comes to processes and activities, there are wide differences between a service based
organisation and a manufacturing environment. In the production line of a factory like ... Show more

Housekeeping: staff continuously ensures cleanliness of the tables, floor and customer facilities,
approvisioning of straws and napkins as well as availability of space in bins.
Although the primary purpose of both organisation type is to fufil customer s needs, there are
important differences which will dictate their operational setup, known as the four Vs (Volume,
Variety, Variation, Visibility).
In the case of Ford Motor Company, we have the typical scenario of a car manufacturer that create
batches of the same cars in high volume but in low variety. Because there is very little variation in
demand along with no customer interaction for their operational staff, as such the production line is
designed to ensure precision in the similarity of all the finished product. Following Ford s mission to
be a global family with a proud heritage passionately committed to providing personal mobility for
people around the world and to anticipate consumer need and deliver outstanding products and
services that improve people s lives ; the operations design allows food quality through the use of both
machinery and specialised workers along with a thorough quality check.
However in such a competitive market, their operations process design does not differentiate them
from other car manufacturers. Their production line is designed in a very standard way for an
automobile producer and does not contribute to differentiating

compilation of critical views of Zora Neale Hurston. It starts with an introduction. In this introduction,
the editor of the novel, Harold Bloom, comments on Hurston s writing style and some of her work.
The rest of the book contains essays about Hurston. The essays range in publication from 1937 to
1984. These essays provide insight into how Hurston was received. This sources gives me direct

Cause And Effect Of Natural Disasters
The unexpected is something that can not be prevented. Natural disasters destroy everything in their
way. With the help of technology and how fast it is growing, communities know a natural disaster is
happening within hours or days of its starting. The people that live in that area often know what there
is to come before it actually arrives. They often are encouraged to evacuate as soon as possible. But
how could someone leave behind all their belongings, memories and cherishable items to be swept
away in a storm just like trash? People are too stubborn to listen to the news or weather reports
because they are skeptical. They sometimes may be right however, most of the time they are in the
wrong. These are the types of people who normally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yearly costs make countries go into deep financial debt due to their inability to recover what they lost.
They never recover financially because once they are done recovering from one disaster another one
hits and it becomes a never ending cycle of trying to help one another recover. In the same article,
Tudor points out that, One of the major negative effects is that there is a reduction of tourism (Tudor).
People are too frightened to visit because they are constantly in fear that another natural disaster may
hit. Many countries rely on tourism to help their economy because of the money they spend in hotels
and food and etc. Tourism also helps to bring in other people into the country to thus help the national
government and the population as a whole. Without tourism the future generations are afflicted down
to a personal level with which the people already living there are going to most likely stay there,
keeping the gross domestic product at a progressively decreasing rate. After the Thai floods, there was
a significant shortage of computer hard drives that sent consumer prices skyrocketing until factories
were able to come back online ( The Impact of Natural Disasters on the Global Economy ). The
damage from the disaster is not only local countries from a far feel the effects of the disaster as well.

Comparing The Narcissistics Of A Machiavellian Leader
The narcissistic leader is one who is only interested in himself and puts his interest. He exercises
supremacy, arrogance and hostility in his governance. He considers himself self reliant and is unable
to take criticism hence those who dare to voice negative opinion are dealt with quite abrasively. This
leader has a great desire to be admired coupled with a gift of attracting followers. He is also ruthlessly
competitive and can do whatever it takes to win as he relents in quest of victory. The Machiavellian
leader is characterized by a duplicitous and cunning leadership style. He has a great focus on self
interest and a skeptical disregard for morality. Examples of narcissistic leaders include: Alexander the

Domestic Policy Under Cardinal Thomas Wolsey Was a...
Domestic policy under Wolsey was a failure . How far do you agree with this assessment?
Wolsey was Henry VIII s chief minister for 15 years and it s fair to say that historians have, in general,
been disappointed with his lack of achievement in the area of domestic affairs. Most argue that he
devoted far too much of his time to foreign policy in order to establish, and then further boost his own
personal power and increase his income, implying that more of his time should have been allocated to
reforming social and economic policy and using his vast intelligence to improve the way government
operated in England at the time. However there was very little contemporary discontent with the way
the country was being run in the first place. So ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He seemed genuinely interested to see justice prevailing throughout the land by not only through the
afore mentioned equality based proceedings but through advancing civil law over common law, which
was undoubtedly a move towards a more just judicial system. He took pleasure in overturning verdicts
made by common law, when they went against what he thought was natural justice. However, it must
not be omitted that Wolsey was much less determined in the pursuit of justice than he was in the
pursuit of his own personal gain; it is clear he was manipulative and exploitative in using the system
to further his own interests. An often used example to case this point is his revenge on Sir Amyus
Paulet. After having been humiliated by Paulet upon entering his first benefice Wolsey kept the event
stored in the back of his incredible mind for more than a decade. He exacted his revenge upon being
granted the position of Lord Chancellor by summoning Paulet to appear before him at the Star
Chamber. Spitefully, he kept him in daily attendance for more than five years under the threats of the
consequences of contempt of court if he were to not turn up. Wolsey used this as a public reminder of
what would happen to those who crossed him. There is also no doubt that more resentment was caused
by Wolsey s action in the Star Chamber, especially

Mexico Is The Second Largest Economy Of Latin America Essay
According to the World Bank (2016), Mexico is the second largest economy in Latin America (Iliff,
2016). Mexico is one of the largest auto producers and exporters. Mexico, produced 3.4 million
vehicles in 2015, raking seventh largest vehicle producer in the world and first in Latin America
(Administration, I. T. (2016). Automotive manufacturing is growing, and large automotive companies
such as Nissan, Mazda, Volkswagen, and GM, who have plants already established in Mexico, are
now planning to expand their facilities. Half of the cars sold in Mexico are made there, and the other
half is imported (Iliff, 2016). The business cultural environment in Mexico consists of families driving
small old 1990 s pick up trucks. In Mexico, owning a pick up means a lot, because this type of cars are
used for family, affordability, durability, efficiency, and convenience. Some include Nissan King Cab,
Ford F 150, and Chevy Cheyenne and Silverado. As of 2015, Mexico has broken a new record of new
vehicle sales of 1.38 million units, a 19% gain since 2014 and decreased used vehicles sales import of
180,000 from 1.6 million. The future consumption is expected to increase by 500,000 units and could
reach up 2 millions units (Iliff, 2016). Mexico had freely imported used vehicles from the United
States, and due to that, there was a large demand for used cars. The industry officials argue, A crush of
used cars hurts new cars. If a customer can not get a decent price at trade in, deals fall

Wal Mart Is The Largest And Most Innovative Company
Wal Mart is the largest and most innovative company in the world, grossing annual revenue of $430
billion dollars and maintains stores internationally. Although it has seen its success in areas of
customer service, it currently sees the negative impact that anti corporation groups and lawsuits can
have on profits. Although these problems would amount to a sufficient issue, an even bigger issue
facing Wal Mart today is the consistent approaching threat of competition with fellow rivals such as
the stores Kmart, Target, and the practicality of Dollar stores. Everything from wage rates, prices,
economy, technology, etc., has been affected by Wal Mart s success. Although the threat of
competition does not outweigh the overall success that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 90s Wal Mart capitalized on products that the American people used on a consistent basis. One
specific brand that they utilized was the use of deodorant. An executive decision was reached to end
the use of a paper box in conjunction with the use of the deodorant due to the fact that it already
arrived in a container, and a box would be excessive and an unnecessary expense. This also trickled
down into the shipping expense accrued by the wasted fuel to move the cardboard boxes. This shows
the environmental impact that Wal Mart has had on the world, ending what would be huge bouts of
deforestation in favor of cardboard production, as well as the impact that it had on the market when
Wal Mart s competitors also eliminated the use of cardboard in conjunction with they re deodorant
orders. This allowed they re customers to save over 5 million dollars. This is important because as a
staple for American society Wal Mart will be the epicenter for the cultural experience of a modern day,
global, family based business, with core values based on customer satisfaction. If the company
changed its beliefs it would not be the corporate giant that it is today. Wal Mart is not a company that
bases its foundation on how much ground it can cover in order to gain control, although it wants to run
a market its not making moves on behalf of its own self interest. That is what the founder Sam Walton

A Brief Look at the Mayan Civilization Essay example
After the disappearance of the Olmec in 100 BCE many Mesoamerican complex societies arose and
continued to carry on many of the things of the Olmec culture. The ceremonial centers that were now
being established brought about large populations of residents to the area. Trade networks linked the
new areas and extended across Mesoamerica. They developed similar to those in the eastern
hemisphere.
The earliest heirs to the Olmec were the Maya people. The Maya can be analyzed in terms of their
culture. This civilization came about in Mesoamerica around 250 AD with a great influence coming
from that of the Olmec. The first 650 years of the Maya civilization s existence was known as the
Classic Period. They created a remarkable society of more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

After the depopulation of the lowland cities the highland cities continued to flourish. Maya writing
was an expansion on the Olmec tradition of writing in inscriptions. They created the most beautiful
and complex system of writing than all of the other early American systems. It is a system of
hieroglyphs and syllabic symbols. Scholars began to try and understand the script in the 1960 s. Much
of Maya writing is still around today. The inscriptions are seen on temples and monuments. The most
common place for Maya writing were the books that they created out of bark paper and lime to make
it white. They bound each book with deer hide. Only four books containing Maya writing that deal
with astronomical and calendric matters. Popol Vuh, the Maya Bible is one of the surviving books.
Like other Mesoamerican people, the Maya used a number system where the first nineteen numbers
were similar to that of our English numbers. They contain unique symbols for numerals one through
ten and eleven through nineteen is a combination of the symbols for one through nine combined with
ten. Another great mathematical achievement of the Maya was that of the creation of the concept of
zero and also positional notation. By combining their mathematical and astronomical skills they
calculated a solar year, which is 365.242 days. They were also able to predict solar eclipses because
they understood the movements of heavenly bodies. The Maya people

The Google Android Operating System
The Google Android Operating System To fully understand the Google Android operating system, you
must look back beyond the development of the very first version of the Android OS. In 1999, former
manufacturing engineer at Apple, Andy Rubin, joined with two other men, Matt Hershenson and Joe
Britt, to found Danger Inc. The company aimed to provide hardware and software for mobile devices.
Their most notable device was the T Mobile Sidekick. The company spearheaded the idea of a client
server model and is credited with the creation of the App Marketplace. Danger Inc. was sold in 2008
to Microsoft, but the idea of the Android OS was brewing several years before this. In 2003, Rubin
made the decision to leave Danger Inc. to work on Android. For several years, Rubin funded his ideas
out of pocket and did not produce any new products. His aim was similar to that of Danger s to
revolutionize smartphone software and open source development of ideas previously started by
Danger. Android came from Linux, but has since become an independent operating system.
2005 came around and Android had still not put out its first product. Rubin s focus was on web
connected experiences and to create an environment where developers could apply their skills. This
new idea attracted investors, namely Google. Google was interested in staying competitive with the
big companies in the smartphone market at the time Blackberry and Microsoft. The idea that sparked
Google s interest was the open source

Origin And Development Of Hunting
Origin and Development of Hunting in Humans Everyday humans around the world consume meat for
nutritional value and; though it is out of mind, survival. When we plan to acquire meat today it is
typically purchased from a store where it had been processed and packaged. However the process of
acquiring this valuable protein was not always so simple. It has been proposed since the time of
Darwin and his theory of Evolution that it was our initial conversion into omnivores who both hunted
and gathered that gave us the extra nutrients to further develop as an intelligent race. Not only did
meat help enlarge brain size but it has been argued to shape our morphology which further aided in
hunting and survival on the savannah rather than in trees. Darwin s evolutionary studies have
remained unchallenged until recently. Darwin specified hominization began when our ancestors
abandoned the trees, embraced an upright bipedal gait, and began using their free hands to create and
use tools. Tools became vital for the purpose of hunting and carcass processing. Darwin explained that
meat, obtained through hunting, became the most stimulating component in hominid adaptation to
savannas. Triggering a progressive increase in brain size, meat subsequently led to increased
intelligence. Another element surrounding this theory of evolution suggests men are superior in mental
endowment to women. Hunting being primarily a male activity and gathering primarily for females its
possible gender

Harmful Effects Of Machiavellian Advertising
As accessibility to and the advancement of the new media increases, our control over what we choose
to see to decreases exponentially. Although advertisements do not seem to manifest harmful effects,
many advertisers use Machiavellian tactics to sway the opinions of people. Such tactics include:
clickbait, which makes use of targeting the curiosity of viewers to simply click on a specific link or
video, and data mining, the tracking of recent searches to show advertisements specific to what the
robots claim to be one s interests. These techniques used are implemented to evoke the specific
interests of the consumer, making pure curiosity in control of what the reader is paying attention to.
Clickbait uses persuasive and absorbing headlines and images to allows readers to quickly browse
through the content on a website and choose what they want to see. However, much of this content
that uses clickbait is false information so advertisers can get the views and shares they desire. Wu
mentions the power of clickbait, the technique that started attentional capture online. This attention
grabbing idea started on accident with a dispute with Nike. While Nike was promoting their new
personalized Nike iD, a customer named Jonah Peretti received an email from the Nike headquarters
saying they were unable to process his order because it broke one of four rules when personalizing a

The Flipped Classroom Experience
Technologies have its own share of advantages and disadvantages. Technology can be a boon in
disguise or it can work in opposite way. In past, several learning institutes have tried applying new and
latest technologies to enhance the teaching experience. Technology needs to be analysed methodically
to estimate the benefits. The technology we discussed and recommend includes Webex, classroom
recording which facilitate collaborative online interactive sessions. These technology have played
important role in making teaching more flexible and beneficial to students and teachers. Many
universities across the world have started using online interactive sessions for teaching. This is also
known as online tutoring or online course. As of now, major US universities including MIT and
Harvard are offering online courses. It has its own unique selling point of location flexibility. It has
been successfully tried across the world to give more value to students and make education truly
global globalized.
This can be also used to have mix of both worlds. Not just online or full recorded classroom videos
but something that gives a better learning experience. It is also called as Flipped learning. Flipped
learning is combination of online teaching and recorded video sessions, which students watch usually
at home and homework is now completed in the class with interaction from teachers and collaboration
of students. Flipped teaching is a new form of blended learning instead of pure lecturing.

Air Pollution In The Environment
A major public health challenge facing the people of Honduras is the issue of household air pollution
(HAP). HAP is a dangerous form of environmental health hazard, so much so that the World Health
Organization (WHO) has called it the most important global environmental health risk today . HAP is
air pollution that is produced inside the home due to cooking, lightening, and heating needs and is
typically the result of burning biomass fuels such as wood or coal, which produces products of
incomplete combustion such as carbon monoxide and particulate matter (PM). Behaviors such as
smoking indoors also contribute to poor indoor air quality. The worldwide impact of HAP is massive,
with the WHO estimating that a total of 4.3 million deaths were linked to HAP in 2012. Honduras is
part of this global burden of disease, as over half of Honduras s population cooks with biomass,
placing thousands at risk. The overall trend in health ailments in Honduras is one of epidemiological
transition. Essentially, Honduras is currently seeing a rise in noncommunicable diseases (NCD) while
the burden of infectious disease persists. HAP is contributing to this rise in NCD. People in Honduras
between 30 and 70 years old have a 16% chance of dying from the four main NCDS, which include
cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic respiratory diseases. HAP has been found to
contribute to all of these areas of NCD, excluding diabetes. In Honduras, cardiovascular disease and

What Is The Character Of Archie In The Chocolate War
The Chocolate War Essay You see Carter, people are two things: greedy and cruel. (Cormier, 241) This
quote said by Archie in The Chocolate War shows us the type of person Archie is. This quote not only
describes the type of person Archie is it describes Brother Leon as well. Archie and Brother Leon are
both very manipulative between abusing their powers and doing wrong things. Archie is the Assigner
of the Vigils and is in position of power which causes students the be afraid of him. Archie and
Brother Leon are really similar characters in The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier, with examples
like both being cruel to students and manipulative. First reasoning on how these two characters are
similar is how they are both cruel. Archie makes students in Trinity do assignments that are horrible
and gets them in trouble. For example, Archie makes Goober do the assignment of unscrewing all the

from the school when he shouldn t have. This is shown through Archie s conversation with Brian

International Court Of International Law Essay
International courts, like all judicial courts, are seen as neutral parties to a dispute. International courts
interpret international law and provide an avenue for states to settle their differences. In court, each
state should have equal power. The court should not take into account how large or powerful a state is.
Justice is supposed to be blind. However, in practice, state power does matter.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ), also known as the World Court, is the paramount court of
international law. Nevertheless, there appear to be power discrepancies within the ICJ. When looking
at the structure and history of the ICJ, one can observe the advantages of major powers within the
court. States look to the ICJ as an impartial arbitrator, but the ICJ seems to be significantly more
partial than one may expect it to be. If major powers are favored in the court, weaker states will lose
faith in the supreme judicial organ of global law. The ICJ serves a critical role in international law and
thus it must fairly proceed in disputes brought forth by any member state. This is not the case and
there is an imbalance of power in the ICJ system as major powers heavily influence the structure,
decision making, and compliance measures. Specifically, The United Nations Security Council has the
utmost influence in the United Nations (UN) and thus has serious power inside the ICJ. The major
powers can influence decisions in a variety of ways, such as through their constant

A House Not Made With Hands Essay
In 2 Corinthians 5:1, we see the statement made by Paul, a house not made with hands. A few
interpretations for that would be, The body you live in now, Paul says, is like a tent. It can and will be
folded up and destroyed. We have a permanent house in heaven, though, of which God is the architect
and builder. (Ramsay 34), Employing the same word for house (oikia) that he used to describe the
earthly, temporary body that all people are born with, Paul now contrasts with it this new house
awaiting all believers after death. Naturally, since it comes from God, this new house has been built in
God s neighborhood where God himself resides, heaven. Like God, it will also stand solid and secure
forever. Of course such a dwelling could not be built by human construction methods. Only God could
possibly build it. (Baker 202) Phillip Edgcumbe Hughes explains to us, This expression...must not be
misunderstood, for it certainly does not imply that our present dwelling is made with hands. There
may be a hint of the thought that man, by virtue of his faculty of procreation, has a hand in the miracle
of the formation of the earthly body, whereas the new dwelling comes immediately from God. The
expression may also be interpreted in part by reference to Paul s own particular handicraft, namely,
tent making: tents, with the manufacture of which he was so familiar, he naturally thought of as made
with hands. This description, however, which is distinctive to the New Testament, must

Muslim Women Are Cool article, essentially states that obsessing over trying to appear more
American is awful, Rabia Chaudry states that it s awful for people to accuse them of being too
American. She feels that there is currently a big problem within the Muslim community: that it is
acceptable to publicly humiliate Muslim girls whenever it could be judged that they are not following
Islam correctly. She encourages these women to stay proud Muslims even though other Muslims are
shaming them.
Aminah Sheikh s article, Why I Participated in the Somewhere in America #Mipsterz Video , is
especially worth noting because it is a firsthand account of what it was like being a part of this
controversial video. Overall, Aminah had an overwhelmingly positive experience. She felt

Gayle Meggyesy Murder Case
MILLERSBURG While the murder of Gayle Meggyesy may have rocked the community, it left a
huge void in the lives and pain in the hearts of her family.
Meggyesy died on March 29, 1986, after being shot in the back and the head in the kitchen of her rural
Killbuck Township home. Five days later, John Friedrich, a family friend and former employee of her
husband, Dennis, was arrested. And, in March 1988 he was convicted of her murder.
Friedrich was sentenced to 18 years to life, and his case will be considered at a full hearing of the
Ohio Parole Board on Jan. 26. Her family stands among the many who oppose his release.
Gayle Meggyesy was a wife. She was mother to three children, Nikki, Danielle and Lee. She was a
Girl Scout leader and had helped ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The risk of being killed in some random act of violence isn t even in the same universe as having your
own, personal Bogyman who hates you and wants to hurt you and everyone you love. I freely admit
that I m not the least bit rational it s a gut level fear we have been living with for 30 years.
The last nightmare I remember vividly was back in grad school, she said. I woke up sobbing
hysterically because I dreamed he walked up to me on the street. That s all, and it was enough for me
to absolutely lose my s***.
Preparing for and enduring every parole hearing is emotionally exhausting, she said
None of us have moved on from being that kid with a gun under the pillow waiting for him to come
back from us. That s hard to live with, she said. We re afraid he s just smart enough to hid in woods
somewhere with high powered rifle and start shooting us. I will spend every day for the rest of my life
waiting for a bullet to arrive just because I happened to be the daughter of his victim. It makes me so
angry he has this affect on us. I did nothing wrong. He chose to do

The Smaller Pieces of the Big Christmas Puzzle
(HOOK) As Charles W. Chesnutt once said, We sometimes underestimate the influence of little things.
(http://quoteaddicts.com/748653) (C.I) Most people think of Santa, presents, and candy canes when
they are asked what resembles Christmas while overlooking the smaller symbols and traditions. (GS

Although it is widely popular, it is also commonly underrated as one of the representations of
Christmas, this being seasonal light shows. (GS 3) Broken down, most elements of Christmas are

(REWORDING OF MA) Flashing back to the past, Christmas lights were first created by scientists in
the 1800 s. (M1 FOR MA) During the Christmas season of 1880, Thomas Edison introduced the first
outdoor electric Christmas light display to the modern people of the world. Edison showed these, at
the time magnificent creation on the outside of his laboratory, and many came to and sat on the
railroads to see them. (M2 FOR MA) Not too soon after, Edward Johnson, who was an intern under
the scientist Thomas Edison, created the first string of Christmas lights. (REWORDING OF MB)
Going back to the modern day, lights have turned from simple decorations to extravagant
competitions. (M1 FOR MB) Families all over the world during the Christmas season, put up lights in
honor of the season. Some homes go as far as to set up months before, in order to have the best
display. (M2 FOR MB) From Santa to Rudolph, the decoration industry has a decoration for
everything! (TRANSITION) Although (LINK) the lights can really change the mood of the season,

Was The Watermill With The Great Red Roof By Meindert Hobbema
The work of art I chose to write about was The Watermill with the Great Red Roof by Meindert
Hobbema. This painting was made in 1662 1665. I found this piece in Gallery 231, The Anne Fuller
gallery or the European Painting and Sculpture gallery. It is an oil painting on canvas, and the size of
the painting is 32 x 43¼ inches. When I was walking around looking at the different artworks, and
determining which work of art I was going to write about, I stumbled upon The Watermill with the
Great Red Roof. At first glance, it really pulled me in and made me think about what this painting
meant. My thoughts about this painting were that it made me feel calm and relaxed like a Sunday
afternoon. The colors were muted greens, browns, oranges, and yellows, and this painting looked like
it was rural landscape, which had very full and dramatic trees. It rather reminded me of the Disney
movie, The Sleeping Beauty, this painting reminded me of the house Aurora lived in, they both look
similar to me. This art piece pulled me in and made me want to visit the place Meindert Hobbema
painted. The first word that popped in my head looking at this was, beautiful. It was so simple, yet
complex. Moreover, it was like nothing I have ever seen before. An objective description of this
artwork is that this piece is of a rural area, with trees, bushes, and a pond. There is, also, a broken
down house with a vibrant red roof, and a watermill, which is the focus and emphasis of this painting.
The house

Rhetoric Of Unity Speech
The rhetoric of unity, is often used in order create a feeling of nationalism and community, as well as
to dissolve divisions between peoples. Unity speeches are often employed in times of division and
trouble, whether it be racial tension, or prospected war, there is an issue in which unification often
leads to resolution. Authors work to unite people under a commonality, often times such
commonalities are conveyed through the use of allusion. God, and other Biblical allusions lay at the
core of allusions that aim to unite. A long ranging importance on religion expanded across Europe and
America in the 18th and 19th centuries, and the commonality of Christianity was employed by many
authors who knew this importance. Ranging from Queen Elizabeth ... Show more content on

Both speeches empower and encourage the audience, while igniting hope and strength. In order for
these emotions of power and fight to occur, the rhetoric of such speeches must appeal to the ear, and
have a flow that will allow for the maximum amount of emotion and power to be conveyed. Without
order and flow, the fiery emotion will be lost in the choppy, unorganized prose. A rhythmic strategy
used in each of these speeches is anaphora. Thomas Jefferson s first inaugural address swiftly
incorporated anaphora, We have called by different names brethren of the same principle. We are all
republicans: we are all federalists , in the repetition of we in order to acquire an appealing rhythm of
sentence flow, and to establish a significance of the empowering word we . Such use of anaphora
allows the audience to get behind what Jefferson is saying and respond to his statements with more
enthusiasm and acceptance. In a nifying speech, anaphora is used to elaborate and extend the strong
assertions made to bring people together, as seen in Martin Luther King Jr. s I have a Dream in which
King begins eight consecutive sentence with I have a dream . This reinstitution of his statement
contributes to the structure of organized, repetitive thought. As a result, King leaves his audience
feeling in sync, making their own, I have a dream statements, and progressing towards

Example Of Naturalistic Observation
A. A naturalistic observation is a form of research that takes place in the participant s own
environment. This could be the participant s workplace or a child s home. Another form of observation
that was also conducted was covert observations is an empirical research were the participants don t
know when they are being observed. Covert methods in general has always been contentious, on the
basis that you can mislead the participant of the study. However, they offer access to information that
would otherwise be nearly impossible. Regarding this, the subject that I ve decided to study was an
biracial female that is athletic, roughly 5 7, dark colored hair, brown eyes, ages between 16 17, and is
a senior at Minnetonka High School. The specific behavior of interest was the amount of socializing
with classmates when teacher asks to share their views about the topic in class.
B. Day 1: The subject look very disinterested at class. While the teacher was discussing about the code
of conduct in class regarding cell phones the subject was on her smartphone. The teacher made us
repeat the words to our classmates. She sat there and still proceeded to look at her phone. She doesn t
seem to be interested of the class. Day 2: Mr. teacher gives the students the first 5 minutes of class to
write in their journals. The teacher also gives the students prompts on the board if they don t know
what they want to write. While most of the students are sitting there answering the prompt on the

globalized, outsourced, offshored, interconnected and complex (Leonard).? When we consume a

major performer in this iPod economy is a company called PortalPlayer. PortalPlayer is a key
participant in the iPod economy because Apple relies on them for the platform and reference design of
the iPod (Kessler).? This crucial relationship between Apple Inc. and PortalPlayer represents the
beginning of a long series of relationships involved in the production of the iPod as a consumable
commodity. Located in Santa Clara, California, PortalPlayer?s headquarters are strategically situated
in the heart of the Silicon Valley. Renowned for more than just sunny weather and quaint counties; the

advantage through both cooperating and competing with one another (Porter).? Conveniently, Apple

Stereotypes In Hailee Steinfeld s Most Girls
Can I be a girl without wearing the stereotypical girly clothes? Hailee Steinfeld s song Most Girls
talks about the two types of girls that exist. The first one is the girly girl that wear cute items:
skirts, dresses, heels, tight clothing, and piercings on the body. She is very pretty since she wears make
up, while the second on is a tomboy that dresses casual clothes, doesn t care what they wear, and is
most likely bisexual or lesbian. She defines these types by their wardrobe, actions, and how they want
to succeed in life through their own unique way. Society tells them that is how a girl should portray
herself. No matter how you act or dress, at the end of the day you are a girl and no one can tell you
otherwise. The artist is a female and her style can be girly and tomboyish because that s who she is.
When I first heard this song I felt like I was finally understood that I am a girl without those
stereotypes. This song helped me realize I should be comfortable with myself and knowing not all
girls, like myself, feel that they have to live up to the stereotypical expectation of being a girly girl and
shouldn t define by any stereotypes, free to live by her own expectation, not society. First time I heard
this song on the radio I was filled with so much enjoyment thinking it was my birthday and the
attention was all on me. I thought back to when I was a kid, I hated wearing skirts, dresses, Skorts
(shorts attach under a skirt) and wearing cute petite shoes. I was forced to wear these items, but mostly
I wore T shirts, jeans, sweats, and Chuck Taylor Converse in white, black, gray, black and white all the
time. I felt wearing sweatpants, looking like a princess was the person I felt comfortable as. My
grandma hated taking me shopping because I never wanted to go to the extremely girly section. I felt
like I was in a world of bubble gum with so much pink, unicorns, and all that girly stuff. I do not hate
pink, but I m not too fond of it. She tried to shape me into this cute little girl who loves dolls, pink,
and everything girly like my sister. I am not a little doll that she commands to wear and do whatever
she wants. I didn t know how to be the proper girl my grandma wanted me to be because I was

How Sports And Concussions Have On An Individual And Their...
My article covers the very important impact that sports and concussions have on an individual and
their families. Head injuries are a very serious problem as described in this article, and to make sure
that this problem is understood, we must educate our coaches, and athletes as well as parents, of signs
of concussions and head trauma. Throughout this paper I m going to summarize the article, and then
approach it from the stand point of whether or not I agree with what the author is saying, or if I
disagree with what the author is saying. The first page of the article talks Technology and how times
have juristically changed, as far as health and are ability to fix an injury, and how back in the day
injury was seen as weakness. So, it was seen as coach s prioritizing strength and toughness over
injury. (443) It also says in this article Although man types of injuries have declined as a result of
advanced technology and increased awareness, concussions and brain related injuries continue to be
an enormous problem in sports . (443, Key) Youths in the year of 2014, roughly had 173,285
concussions and this was not in one sport, this was in all sports. (443) This just shows that not one
sport is responsible for all concussions. In a very important case Mann v. Palmerton Area School
District, the victims being the Mann s, and the defendants being Palmerton Area Schools. The Mann s
were accusing the school district that they didn t take the right actions when their son was hit

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Hillary Clinton
To keep the American tradition, President Obama signed an executive order requiring the loser of the
Presidential election to leave the country. Obama stated No Matter who that loser is .
The nation has been evenly divided between Donald Trump, who is calling for dictatorial control of
the country with massive tax breaks to the top 1%, and Hillary Clinton, who is calling for tax breaks
for the middle class.
The battle cry for Trump is the slogan Hillary is going to raise taxes and I m going to cut taxes . In
order to try and control the media, Trump says anyone one who challenges the media s control is
sexist, racist, xenophobic and morally deformed. He must mean the indisputable king of propaganda,
Fox News. The main policy Donald Trump is offering, is to do everyone a favor by getting rid of gays,
trannies, blacks, Latinos, Mexicans and all other minorities. He will also use his dictatorship to get rid
of any military generals that pose a threat to Russia. He is also calling for law and order by
prosecuting people without a fair trial. In other words he will make America great again. ... Show

Trump is talking about how Hillary s voting record matches republicans by close to 90% in foreign
policy, and republicans hate her for being like them. Where Hillary Clinton is different lies with taxes
since she will destroy the country by cutting taxes for the middle class and raising taxes on incomes
higher than $250,000.00 a year, so there are funds to pay for roads and bridges, military and even
money for a start up business that needs a helping hand like Trump s dad received how else could
Trumps dad have been able to make Donald a self made elite? And why should the top 1%, that own
more than the bottom 99%, pay more than 12% of the taxes it takes for our country to supply the
money we need to have police, fireman, courts and judges, military and corporate

In this essay we will be contrasting some principles of operations management between Ford Motor Company and McDonald s, two succesful multinational companies with prominent operations functions. a) When it comes to processes and activities, there are wide differences between a service based organisation and a manufacturing environment. Wolsey was Henry VIII s chief minister for 15 years and it s fair to say that historians have, in general, been disappointed with his lack of achievement in the area of domestic affairs. Most argue that he devoted far too much of his time to foreign policy in order to establish, and then further boost his own personal power and increase his income, implying that more of his time should have been allocated to reforming social and economic policy and using his vast intelligence to improve the way government operated in England at the time. He took pleasure in overturning verdicts made by common law, when they went against what he thought was natural justice. However, it must not be omitted that Wolsey was much less determined in the pursuit of justice than he was in the pursuit of his own personal gain; it is clear he was manipulative and exploitative in using the system to further his own interests. An often used example to case this point is his revenge on Sir Amyus Paulet. After having been humiliated by Paulet upon entering his first benefice Wolsey kept the event stored in the back of his incredible mind for more than a decade. He exacted his revenge upon being granted the position of Lord Chancellor by summoning Paulet to appear before him at the Star Chamber. Spitefully, he kept him in daily attendance for more than five years under the threats of the consequences of contempt of court if he were to not turn up. Mexico is one of the largest auto producers and exporters. Mexico, produced 3.4 million vehicles in 2015, raking seventh largest vehicle producer in the world and first in Latin America (Administration, I. T. (2016). Automotive manufacturing is growing, and large automotive companies such as Nissan, Mazda, Volkswagen, and GM, who have plants already established in Mexico, are now planning to expand their facilities. Half of the cars sold in Mexico are made there, and the other half is imported (Iliff, 2016). The business cultural environment in Mexico consists of families driving small old 1990 s pick up trucks. In Mexico, owning a pick up means a lot, because this type of cars are used for family, affordability, durability, efficiency, and convenience. The Google Android Operating System The Google Android Operating System To fully understand the Google Android operating system, you must look back beyond the development of the very first version of the Android OS. In 1999, former manufacturing engineer at Apple, Andy Rubin, joined with two other men, Matt Hershenson and Joe Britt, to found Danger Inc. The company aimed to provide hardware and software for mobile devices. Their most notable device was the T Mobile Sidekick. The company spearheaded the idea of a client server model and is credited with the creation of the App Marketplace. Danger Inc. was sold in 2008 to Microsoft, but the idea of the Android OS was brewing several years before this. In 2003, Rubin made the decision to leave Danger Inc. to work on Android. For several years, Rubin funded his ideas out of pocket and did not produce any new products. His aim was similar to that of Danger s to revolutionize smartphone software and open source development of ideas previously started by Danger. Android came from Linux, but has since become an independent operating system. 2005 came around and Android had still not put out its first product. Rubin s focus was on web connected experiences and to create an environment where developers could apply their skills. This new idea attracted investors, namely Google. When we plan to acquire meat today it is typically purchased from a store where it had been processed and packaged. However the process of acquiring this valuable protein was not always so simple. It has been proposed since the time of Darwin and his theory of Evolution that it was our initial conversion into omnivores who both hunted and gathered that gave us the extra nutrients to further develop as an intelligent race. Not only did meat help enlarge brain size but it has been argued to shape our morphology which further aided in hunting and survival on the savannah rather than in trees. Darwin s evolutionary studies have remained unchallenged until recently. Darwin specified hominization began when our ancestors abandoned the trees, embraced an upright bipedal gait, and began using their free hands to create and use tools. Tools became vital for the purpose of hunting and carcass processing. Darwin explained that meat, obtained through hunting, became the most stimulating component in hominid adaptation to savannas. Triggering a progressive increase in brain size, meat subsequently led to increased intelligence. Another element surrounding this theory of evolution suggests men are superior in mental endowment to women. HAP is a dangerous form of environmental health hazard, so much so that the World Health Organization (WHO) has called it the most important global environmental health risk today . HAP is air pollution that is produced inside the home due to cooking, lightening, and heating needs and is typically the result of burning biomass fuels such as wood or coal, which produces products of incomplete combustion such as carbon monoxide and particulate matter (PM). Behaviors such as smoking indoors also contribute to poor indoor air quality. The worldwide impact of HAP is massive, with the WHO estimating that a total of 4.3 million deaths were linked to HAP in 2012. Honduras is part of this global burden of disease, as over half of Honduras s population cooks with biomass, placing thousands at risk. The overall trend in health ailments in Honduras is one of epidemiological transition. Essentially, Honduras is currently seeing a rise in noncommunicable diseases (NCD) while the burden of infectious disease persists. HAP is contributing to this rise in NCD. People in Honduras between 30 and 70 years old have a 16% chance of dying from the four main NCDS, which include cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic respiratory diseases. International courts interpret international law and provide an avenue for states to settle their differences. In court, each state should have equal power. The court should not take into account how large or powerful a state is. Justice is supposed to be blind. However, in practice, state power does matter. The International Court of Justice (ICJ), also known as the World Court, is the paramount court of international law. Nevertheless, there appear to be power discrepancies within the ICJ. When looking at the structure and history of the ICJ, one can observe the advantages of major powers within the court. States look to the ICJ as an impartial arbitrator, but the ICJ seems to be significantly more partial than one may expect it to be. If major powers are favored in the court, weaker states will lose faith in the supreme judicial organ of global law. The ICJ serves a critical role in international law and thus it must fairly proceed in disputes brought forth by any member state. This is not the case and there is an imbalance of power in the ICJ system as major powers heavily influence the structure, decision making, and compliance measures. Specifically, The United Nations Security Council has the utmost influence in the United Nations (UN) and thus has serious power inside the ICJ. It can and will be folded up and destroyed. We have a permanent house in heaven, though, of which God is the architect and builder. (Ramsay 34), Employing the same word for house (oikia) that he used to describe the earthly, temporary body that all people are born with, Paul now contrasts with it this new house awaiting all believers after death. Naturally, since it comes from God, this new house has been built in God s neighborhood where God himself resides, heaven. Like God, it will also stand solid and secure forever. Of course such a dwelling could not be built by human construction methods. Only God could possibly build it. (Baker 202) Phillip Edgcumbe Hughes explains to us, This expression...must not be misunderstood, for it certainly does not imply that our present dwelling is made with hands. There may be a hint of the thought that man, by virtue of his faculty of procreation, has a hand in the miracle of the formation of the earthly body, whereas the new dwelling comes immediately from God. The expression may also be interpreted in part by reference to Paul s own particular handicraft, namely, tent making: tents, with the manufacture of which he was so familiar, he naturally thought of as made with hands. I woke up sobbing hysterically because I dreamed he walked up to me on the street. That s all, and it was enough for me to absolutely lose my s***. Preparing for and enduring every parole hearing is emotionally exhausting, she said None of us have moved on from being that kid with a gun under the pillow waiting for him to come back from us. That s hard to live with, she said. We re afraid he s just smart enough to hid in woods somewhere with high powered rifle and start shooting us. I will spend every day for the rest of my life waiting for a bullet to arrive just because I happened to be the daughter of his victim. It makes me so angry he has this affect on us. I did nothing wrong. He chose to do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. Was The Watermill With The Great Red Roof By Meindert Hobbema The work of art I chose to write about was The Watermill with the Great Red Roof by Meindert Hobbema. This painting was made in 1662 1665. I found this piece in Gallery 231, The Anne Fuller gallery or the European Painting and Sculpture gallery. It is an oil painting on canvas, and the size of the painting is 32 x 43¼ inches. When I was walking around looking at the different artworks, and determining which work of art I was going to write about, I stumbled upon The Watermill with the Great Red Roof. At first glance, it really pulled me in and made me think about what this painting meant. My thoughts about this painting were that it made me feel calm and relaxed like a Sunday afternoon. The colors were muted greens, browns, oranges, and yellows, and this painting looked like it was rural landscape, which had very full and dramatic trees. It rather reminded me of the Disney movie, The Sleeping Beauty, this painting reminded me of the house Aurora lived in, they both look similar to me. This art piece pulled me in and made me want to visit the place Meindert Hobbema painted. The first word that popped in my head looking at this was, beautiful. It was so simple, yet complex. Moreover, it was like nothing I have ever seen before. An objective description of this artwork is that this piece is of a rural area, with trees, bushes, and a pond. There is, also, a broken down house with a vibrant red roof, and a watermill, which is the focus and emphasis of this painting. The house ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Rhetoric Of Unity Speech The rhetoric of unity, is often used in order create a feeling of nationalism and community, as well as to dissolve divisions between peoples. Unity speeches are often employed in times of division and trouble, whether it be racial tension, or prospected war, there is an issue in which unification often leads to resolution. Authors work to unite people under a commonality, often times such commonalities are conveyed through the use of allusion. God, and other Biblical allusions lay at the core of allusions that aim to unite. A long ranging importance on religion expanded across Europe and America in the 18th and 19th centuries, and the commonality of Christianity was employed by many authors who knew this importance. Ranging from Queen Elizabeth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both speeches empower and encourage the audience, while igniting hope and strength. In order for these emotions of power and fight to occur, the rhetoric of such speeches must appeal to the ear, and have a flow that will allow for the maximum amount of emotion and power to be conveyed. Without order and flow, the fiery emotion will be lost in the choppy, unorganized prose. A rhythmic strategy used in each of these speeches is anaphora. Thomas Jefferson s first inaugural address swiftly incorporated anaphora, We have called by different names brethren of the same principle. We are all republicans: we are all federalists , in the repetition of we in order to acquire an appealing rhythm of sentence flow, and to establish a significance of the empowering word we . Such use of anaphora allows the audience to get behind what Jefferson is saying and respond to his statements with more enthusiasm and acceptance. In a nifying speech, anaphora is used to elaborate and extend the strong assertions made to bring people together, as seen in Martin Luther King Jr. s I have a Dream in which King begins eight consecutive sentence with I have a dream . This reinstitution of his statement contributes to the structure of organized, repetitive thought. As a result, King leaves his audience feeling in sync, making their own, I have a dream statements, and progressing towards ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 28. Stereotypes In Hailee Steinfeld s Most Girls Can I be a girl without wearing the stereotypical girly clothes? Hailee Steinfeld s song Most Girls talks about the two types of girls that exist. The first one is the girly girl that wear cute items: skirts, dresses, heels, tight clothing, and piercings on the body. She is very pretty since she wears make up, while the second on is a tomboy that dresses casual clothes, doesn t care what they wear, and is most likely bisexual or lesbian. She defines these types by their wardrobe, actions, and how they want to succeed in life through their own unique way. Society tells them that is how a girl should portray herself. No matter how you act or dress, at the end of the day you are a girl and no one can tell you otherwise. The artist is a female and her style can be girly and tomboyish because that s who she is. When I first heard this song I felt like I was finally understood that I am a girl without those stereotypes. This song helped me realize I should be comfortable with myself and knowing not all girls, like myself, feel that they have to live up to the stereotypical expectation of being a girly girl and shouldn t define by any stereotypes, free to live by her own expectation, not society. First time I heard this song on the radio I was filled with so much enjoyment thinking it was my birthday and the attention was all on me. I thought back to when I was a kid, I hated wearing skirts, dresses, Skorts (shorts attach under a skirt) and wearing cute petite shoes. I was forced to wear these items, but mostly I wore T shirts, jeans, sweats, and Chuck Taylor Converse in white, black, gray, black and white all the time. I felt wearing sweatpants, looking like a princess was the person I felt comfortable as. My grandma hated taking me shopping because I never wanted to go to the extremely girly section. I felt like I was in a world of bubble gum with so much pink, unicorns, and all that girly stuff. I do not hate pink, but I m not too fond of it. She tried to shape me into this cute little girl who loves dolls, pink, and everything girly like my sister. I am not a little doll that she commands to wear and do whatever she wants. • 30. How Sports And Concussions Have On An Individual And Their... My article covers the very important impact that sports and concussions have on an individual and their families. Head injuries are a very serious problem as described in this article, and to make sure that this problem is understood, we must educate our coaches, and athletes as well as parents, of signs of concussions and head trauma. Throughout this paper I m going to summarize the article, and then approach it from the stand point of whether or not I agree with what the author is saying, or if I disagree with what the author is saying. The first page of the article talks Technology and how times have juristically changed, as far as health and are ability to fix an injury, and how back in the day injury was seen as weakness. So, it was seen as coach s prioritizing strength and toughness over injury. (443) It also says in this article Although man types of injuries have declined as a result of advanced technology and increased awareness, concussions and brain related injuries continue to be an enormous problem in sports . (443, Key) Youths in the year of 2014, roughly had 173,285 concussions and this was not in one sport, this was in all sports. Obama stated No Matter who that loser is . The nation has been evenly divided between Donald Trump, who is calling for dictatorial control of the country with massive tax breaks to the top 1%, and Hillary Clinton, who is calling for tax breaks for the middle class. The battle cry for Trump is the slogan Hillary is going to raise taxes and I m going to cut taxes . In order to try and control the media, Trump says anyone one who challenges the media s control is sexist, racist, xenophobic and morally deformed. He must mean the indisputable king of propaganda, Fox News. The main policy Donald Trump is offering, is to do everyone a favor by getting rid of gays, trannies, blacks, Latinos, Mexicans and all other minorities. He will also use his dictatorship to get rid of any military generals that pose a threat to Russia. He is also calling for law and order by prosecuting people without a fair trial.
