2. The New Civil Rights Movement Analysis
Our individual characteristics and traits are what initiates change and drives society, yet in our society
in which individuality doesn t seem to exist these days. where is an individualist is something what we
call an outcast or not normal. In two articles by Kenji Yoshino Preface and The New Civil Rights
Movement , Yoshino discusses how he believes that people cover or hide their real identity so they
will fit into the so called norms of our society. Yoshino supports his argument by ethos, he also uses
his own personal experiences, he also uses pathos, and he uses examples, facts and data to get his
point across. It is this individuality that fuel society and is present in every aspect of it. Culture, a
significant part of society, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Assimilation leads to us to forget what we would ve rather been, just because we have the want to fit
in. In order not to be rejected, we need to fit in with what is expected of us. Society continuously feeds
us these thoughts so much, that we begin to believe that the only way to live and be themselves is to
be what others want them to be. But really, in order to stay a true self , one would have to be content
with what they are and WHO they are (554). It s never wrong that we are agreeing with society, but
has anyone really thought about it? Who gets decided if something is wrong or right? If there s a right
way to living a life? We are all entitled to our own opinions, and our own beliefs. In The New Civil
Rights , Yoshino talks about the need for civil rights in a society. He also references Winnicot s
distinction of a True Self, the feeling of real of the true identity , and the False Self, the feeling of
unreal or untrue, which Yoshino says works as a middle ground between the reality and True Self
(554). Sometimes we have parts of our True Self that we prefer or feel that we have to hide, and our
False Self is our disguise of it. Of course, hiding it can sometimes mask our sense of identity.
However, being said that, we are still conforming with each other and

3. Arguments For Bilingual Education
Over the years, bilingual education has involved teaching children academics in two different
languages so they may become competent learners and be successful at acquiring English. Before
1968, bilingual education was not a required course in American schools, but instead as a voluntary
program. This changed in 1981 when a lawsuit was brought against the state of Texas that resulted in
the requirement of bilingual education programs in elementary schools as English as a second
language (ESL) program, bilingual programs in post elementary grades through eighth grade, and ESL
programs in high school. This type of education has been a hot topic for the state governments of the
United States, debating whether to keep in the curriculum of schools. Many asking themselves, why
should we to provide bilingual education for these students? What will students gain from this type of
education? Studies have shown there are benefits that range from cognitive ability, educational
advancement, to employment opportunities with a bilingual education, while the critics label it as a
failed experiment that costed a whole lot of money and years to maintain a basic foundation in the
second language. Although the cost is hefty for this exploration of a new language and is time
consuming, the cognitive abilities, educational advancement, and employment opportunities greatly
outweigh these opposing factors.
One of the biggest opposing factors against bilingual education has been money,

4. Alex Rider Monologue Analysis
Have you ever been in a situation where you know something is the wrong thing to do but you do it
anyways even though there could be severe consequences? That is the position Alex Rider is put in. In
this journal I will be questioning, predicting, characterizing, and evaluating.
In the rest of my book Mr. Blunt had tried to convince Alex to turn against M16 and take them down.
Alex had just found out that Scorpia had put a poison into vaccines that was supposed to help fight
against yellow fever, but when the poison got put in it had started killing people. M16 is trying to
allure Alex back to the good side by telling him how much they need him: The organization knows
that you are above all of this (Horowitz 311). Alex comes back to M16 and he is very nervous so he

Why did Scorpia put poison in the vaccines for yellow fever? I think they did it because when people
start dying they can say it was us who did it. Just so other countries will be more afraid of them and
what else they might do in the future that other countries could prepare for. I also presume that Scorpia
did it for power they wanted everyone to know that they are the most fearsome. My following
question is why did Alex want to join Rothman? My response to that is Alex wanted to be one of the
leaders of Scorpia. I also conceive that Alex wants to be on the good side of her because if he is on her
bad side he could get killed. I also believe that Alex wants to join Rothman so that he can be one of
the leaders and that way he can try to take down Scorpia. My last question is why did Alex decide to
go back to M16? I think that Alex went back because he knows deep down inside that that is not who
he is: Alex had felt My next reason is that a weird feeling deep down inside (Horowitz 354). My last
reason is I think Alex went back to M16 because he had a feeling that Scorpia was lying and that his

The inclusion of lithium in Reynolds X100 makes sure to block any dislocations within the alloys
crystal structure, giving it an outstanding fatigue resistance.
Reynolds X100 as stated in paragraph one two has a lack of strength compared to steel. The best way
to deal with this is to increase the tubular diameter making it ovular that makes up the bike frame,
hence also making sure that it is very resistant to bending. Though these enlarged and irregular
sections are difficult to design and employ, the added stiffness to the frame is extensive. Unlike steel,
we see that X100 (due to aluminium) has tremendous shock absorption, making the ride of a Reynolds
X100 frame much more comfortable.
7. X100 is a seemingly average alloy, when it comes to joining it follows this path. To join aluminium it
is naturally difficult to welded, and more complicated difficult processes must be used (inert gases are
required to join members (MIG)).
Conclusively Reynolds X100 is more expensive than steel, due to its large percentage of aluminium,
yet still not greatly expensive. In an ethical sense, the production of these bikes will not be wasteful,
as aluminium is recyclable. It has great weight, very resistant to forms of decay and resistance to
fatigue. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to repair, as the joining methods take large amounts of time
and are very costly.

8. Radiation Chavez Experiments
Introduction
In this project we will determine how much radiation Chavez students are consuming daily as well as
annually. In order to find an accurate reading of the amount of radiation consumption we came up
with 10 questions that were crucial to our investigation. Our questions consist of medical, travel and
miscellaneous related objects that disperse radiation. In order for us to get a more accurate idea of how
much radiation students are consuming we made a total of 100 surveys, which were distributed to our
Chavez peers. Once we gathered all information we made precise calculations of each item according
to the amount of mREM each item contained. After that we will be analyzing our data and transfer it
to a graph where it will be divided into 3 different sections; that is how we will determine where
Chavez students are receiving most of the radiation from.

11. Prostitution In Scarlet Letter And The Price Of Shame
Humiliation is pervasive in society, destroying people s dignity, careers, and even lives. Both Hester
Prynne and Monica Lewinsky are subject to public humiliation from the Puritan and online societies
in which they live. The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne and the The Price of Shame by Monica
Lewinsky argue that humiliation can cause mental turmoil for the sinner, but differ over whether
humiliation causes regret. Both address the way humiliation causes societies to view people two
multidimensionally, but they disagree whether humiliation could ultimately cause society to improve.
Both Hawthorne and Lewinsky argue that humiliation can cause inner turmoil in the transgressor.

Despite the difference in time period, both women have dark, suicidal thoughts borne from
humiliation. The humiliation does not manifest itself as feelings of regret for Hester. As she stands on
the scaffold in the height of her public humiliation, Hester wastes no time on regret. She simply looks
down on the crowd with a haughty smile, and a glance that would not be abashed...Those who
had...expected to behold her dimmed and obscured by a disastrous cloud, were astonished (Hawthorne
50). Hester glows in comparison to the ugly, judgemental crowd of onlookers, which illustrates
Hawthorne s suggestion that regret is a poor reaction to public shaming. Unlike Hester, Lewinsky
explicitly states that not a day goes by that I m not reminded of my mistake, and I regret that mistake
deeply (Lewinsky 2:35). Because she so deeply regrets her mistake, Lewinsky tries to hide herself
within society, instead of separating herself from the crowd like Hester does, relishing in the scarlet A.
As a result of the humiliation, both societies fixate on the women s singular sin, no longer viewing
them as multidimensional people with complex lives and emotions. The

15. How Intelligent Lighting And Controls
Intelligent Lighting and Controls
As LED technology increases everyday it presents an opportunity to significantly reduce energy
consumption, but also change the way users deploy, monitor and control these lighting systems. Today
there are various solutions allowing cities to control light fixtures through a cloud based systems
connecting to a computer, a tablet or other devices. These solutions smarten up a road s or park s
lighting system by enabling independent handling of each fixture. Integrating a cloud based system
will also lower maintenance cost as it provides a real time control and monitoring of individual
fixtures allowing instant notifications of malfunction and pin points the exact location of the fixture
needing maintenance.
LED fixtures can now be integrated with an array of sensors to monitor and control them, allowing
cities to reduce energy consumption cost and carbon emissions. Integrative sensors can manage
lighting conditions depending on the weather and movement of people and/or vehicles. This allows for
individual lamps to slowly dim down or up depending on occupancy and usage; therefore, saving
energy and extending the fixture s life, while maximizing reliability and security. A perfect example
can be seen in Los Angeles, as in 2013 the city installed 140,000 LED street lights. By end of 2014
savings of up to 63% were reported. An additional effort was made to integrate these fixtures with the

from both public administration and public health, and as well as several policy influencing factors.
The second section addresses physical activity policy in particular, providing a definition of physical
activity policy as well as suggested criteria that characterize successful physical activity policy. The
third section gives an insight into policy evaluation...
What is public policy? The National Collaborating Centre for Healthy Public Policy (NCCHPP)
defines public policy as a strategic action led by a public authority in order to limit or increase the
presence of certain phenomena within the population (2012, p. 1). They propose an evidence informed
analytical framework that reflects both public health perspectives and concerns of policy makers. This
is important because public health actors (i.e., policy evaluators and advocates) do not have the power
to make decisions as they represent one voice of among many in the policy making process. The
analytic framework is structured to guide public health matters in a decision making context with six
dimensions: first, the dimensions of effectiveness, unintended effects, and equity are related to the
question of effectiveness; and subsequently, cost, acceptability, and feasibility are related to policy
implementation. Policy is often not a single decision, but a web of decisions or sometimes rather a

22. Biography Of Cameron Mathson
Some time last year, Cameron Mathison was gracious enough to grant me a brief interview, and while
I have been a longtime supporter of his, as a result of that interview, my respect for him as a person
and a professional was multipliedconsiderably. I know how busy he is between work and family, but a
few months ago, I reached out to him yet again. It seemed like we kept missing each other s
correspondence, and I was content to just continue my waiting (honestly, as an interviewer, it is
something to which I am accustomed.). However, as a result of a recent response, Cameron was kind
enough to reward my patience with a brief interview on his way to Australia this past weekend. (And

role? Good question. Of course, I looked into the specifics of an Episcopalian Priest, but I didn t want
the label of a priest to determine his personality. He is a regular guy who loves to help and be of
service to others. I loved the character and the whole experience. Cameron Mathison, Andie

Schwerman I think this was your first time to work with Andie MacDowell. What was it like working
with her? Any behind the scenes stories? We had SO much fun. Loved working with Andie and loved
getting to know her a bit. Behind the scenes stories... hmmmm. There was a funny high heel shoe to
my forehead story! We were on a romantic stroll and Andie s character falls and we end up laying with
each other. When we shot it, her shoe shot up and landed on my forehead leaving a massive golf ball
bump! Luckily, it was the last scene on a Friday and pretty much was back to normal by Monday :) I
have read the book and am very excited to see the movie version. Do you happen to know how closely
this movie follows the book? The film follows the book to a certain degree, but obviously, some
creative changes did occur. I think

REVIEW OF
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
CHIKE CYRIL AMAEFULE
Griffith School of Engineering, Griffith University, Gold Coast, QLD4222, Australia
This paper presents a review of an advanced topic in engineering management. It should consist of
one paragraph giving a concise summary of the material in the article below. Replace the title, authors,
and addresses with your own title, authors, and addresses. You may have as many authors and
addresses as you like. It is preferable not to use footnotes in the abstract or the title; the
acknowledgments of funding bodies etc. are to be placed in a separate section at the end of the text.

1. Introduction
1.1. Overview of knowledge management in software company s their principle resources are not
plants, structures, or costly machines, instead its primary resource could be regarded as its intellectual
capital, as it is in areas, for example, counselling, law, finance and advertising. The significant issue
with scholarly capital is that it has legs and strolls home each day. At the same rate experience exits
the entryway, fresh graduates with little or no experience strolls in the door. Regardless of whether
numerous software companies acknowledge it, they confront the test of supporting the level of
expertise expected to win contracts and satisfy endeavors (Rus and Lindvall 2002).

This paper is based on CUDA, a parallel computing platform model, which utilizes the resources of
the Graphical Processing Unit (GPU), increasing the computing performance of our system, hence
creating a robust parallel computing unit. In this paper, we will be introducing a brief history on
CUDA, it s execution flow and it s architecture to handle processor intensive tasks. We will also be
highlighting some of it s real life applications and the difference in performance as compared of the
only CPU based architectures. Also, since most of the CUDA applications are written in C/C++, we
will also be exploring how CUDA provides the programmable interface in such languages as well.
Finally, we will be including the current research activities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

So, in 2007, NVIDIA released CUDA, which provided the parallel architecture, to support the usage
of the GPUs. It was designed to work with programming languages such as C/C++ or Fortran and this
really helped specialists in parallel programming to use CUDA, rather than to learn other advanced
skills in GPU programming[10] . The model for GPU computing is to use a CPU and GPU together in
a heterogeneous co processing computing model[3]. The framework is designed such that the
sequential part of the application runs on the CPU and the computationally intensive part is
accelerated by the GPU. From the user s point of view, the application is faster because it is using the
better performance of the GPU to improve its own performance. Figure1: Core comparison

25. Analysis Of A Court Of Thorns And Roses
What if you could live in the world of the faeries for all of your human life? A Court of Thorns and
Roses, by Sarah J Maas, is a gripping fantasy series about family, friendships, and of love. I picked up
this book as a suggestion from mom to pass time and 13 hours later I had a numb bottom and a
finished book in my hands. I was utterly hooked from the first page to the last. It is a compelling new
twist on the classic Beauty and the Beast storyline where the main character makes many sacrifices for
the betterment of her family, friends, and humanity itself. Ultimately falling in love with the wrong
person at the right time and then the right person at an even better time. The imaginative characters
come together to battle through epic trials and to conquer unspeakable odds. Maas uses her vivid
descriptions of beauty, sacrifice and true courage to enthrall the readers making it impossible to put
down. Maas s incorporation of mythology and folklore from our world into her book allows you to
build a personal relationship with the characters and a feeling of comradery. The BCCB reviews the
series as Elements from Beauty and the Beast, East o the Sun, West o the Moon, the myth of
Persephone, and the legend of Tamlin are seamlessly interwoven with clever allusions, while the faerie
world is resplendent in its initial beauty and then horrific in the brutality Feyre later encounters.

The presence absence of opium in the ancient Near East and Mesopotamia is a topic debated for
almost a century. In 1928 Charles Terry and Nildred Pellens, following an interpretation of R.
Doughert started the debate trying to identify opium in Sumerian Cuneiform word hul gil, in which
hul would mean opium and gil, joy . In 1949 Reginald Campbell Thompson, in an extensive paper on
Assyrian botany, recognized opium in another Sumerian term, ú nam ti (or ú nam til la), literally the
plant of life , corresponding to the Akkadian irrû. This term, according to Thompson, would mean
coursing, in the sense of a prophecy expressed under the narcotic effect, by binding to the same
concept the words šam and araru. From attempts to recognize the term

29. The Feminist Movement Of Henrik Ibsen s Ibsen
Granted that, Ibsen had disclosed that he was not consciously writing the play to support the feminist
movement, nor did he have any intentions to motivate women to follow Nora s footsteps. He actually
had treated a Scandinavian who had followed Nora s footsteps distastefully, and criticized her because
she took her child when running away, instead of running away by herself (Templeton 35). The reason
for his hypocritical attitude to the woman was to protect himself from the many critics that were
already accusing him of a supporter. He had many women in his life that were mistreated due to the
societal differences, and actually was mentored by Magdalen Thoresen, who was one of the first New
Woman he had met. He eventually married her Magdalen s stepdaughter, Suzannah, and wrote about
her in order to remind people of Suzannah (Templeton 36). Ibsen may have spoken out against being a
supporter, but his motives for such actions were very prevalent in his life. Nevertheless, those two
females were not the most important feminists in his life however. Camilla Collett, one of the most
active feminists in the European countries had. She wrote a novel stating how women s feelings matter
and they have rights as human beings to education and free will of who they are to marry. Publishers
gave her the ultimatum of a masculine name change, or no name at all (Templeton 36). Somehow she
became known as the author and was exiled. Her and Suzannah Ibsen became close friends and

30. The Little Albert Experiment by John Watson and Rosalie...
The Little Albert experiment has become a widely known case study that is continuously discussed by
a large number of psychology professionals. In 1920, behaviorist John Watson and his assistant
Rosalie Rayner began to conduct one of the first experiments done with a child. Stability played a
major factor in choosing Albert for this case study, as Watson wanted to ensure that they would do as
little harm as possible during the experiment. Watson s method of choice for this experiment was to
use principles of classic conditioning to create a stimulus in children that would result in fear. Since
Watson wanted to condition Albert, a variety of objects were used that would otherwise not scare him.
These objects included a white rat, blocks, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This occurrence between the rat and the bar showed that the dual stimulations the week prior had a
lasting effect on Albert. In his case study, Watson explained that the stimulations were given to get a
complete reaction from Albert. The response from the stimulations was as convincing a case of a
completely conditioned fear response as could have been theoretically pictured (Watson, 1920, pp.
314). Every time the rat was joined with the loud sound (dual stimulation), Albert gave the same
complete negative reaction. In the experiment, pairing the rat and noise caused by the hammer striking
the bar, play the role of unconditioned stimulus (US), conditioned stimulus (CS) and conditioned
response (CR). Introducing Albert to the loud sound of hammering the bar is measured as the
unconditioned stimulus. The loud sound is something that Albert is not accustomed to, so the response
is unlearned. Conditioned stimulus occurred when Albert was continuously introduced to the rat alone.
Since Albert experienced the rat at the same the bar was hammered, he has learned to associate the
rate with the sound of the bar (US). Albert s conditioned response in the experiment transpired when
he was able to perform the same behavior when he was presented with the rat (CS) over and over.
After Watson was able to condition a fear response in Albert for one object, he wanted to know if the
response was carried over.

In the climax of Oedipus the King, Jocasta hangs herself in shame at marrying her own son and
Oedipus follows by gouging out his own eyeballs, rendering him sightless once he finally saw the
truth. He is so despaired that he claims If there is any ill worse than ill, that is the lot of Oedipus (179).
He is then banished from his kingdom of Thebes, now hated by the gods (185). Alone, sightless, and
devoid of the respect and honor he once had, it seems apparent that Oedipus life has been permanently
ruined all due to his hubris. Considering that Sophocles was making one of the most impactful
warnings against hubris in literature, he probably hoped that this was the exact message his audience
would receive. However, one would be incorrect to simply assume that hubris robbed Oedipus of any
peace he could ever achieve. In the second play of the trilogy, Oedipus at Colonus, Oedipus begins in
the sordid state he was left in at the end of Oedipus the King, but by the end, we see him protected and
honored by Athens, triumphant over his enemies, and apparently rewarded by the gods with
everlasting well being after death (Ahrensdorf 167). Oedipus has clearly experienced quite the
transformation, from ignoble outcast to revered figure blessed by the gods he once disrespected. Quite
a different message can be taken from the ending of this play as compared to the previous one. Hubris
may have caused immense pain and loss, but it was not the end of Oedipus happiness, no matter how
dire circumstances may have seemed for years of his life. Instead, Oedipus was able to find honor and
peace in death. Once again, this ancient text indicates that hubris is a tragic flaw that people can rise

37. If I Were A Triffid Analysis

If I was a Triffid, I would do many things that the Triffids did not do in the pages we read. The things I
would do if I was a Triffid is kill all the humans. I would also gather up other Triffids and form a large
group with other Triffids and I would also invade all the buildings in the area. To start, if I was a
Triffid, I would kill all the humans in the world.
If I was a Triffid, I would try to kill as much as humans as I possibly could in order to stay alive. The
reason I would try to kill all the Triffids is because humans can make and have very deadly weapons
such as shotguns, nuclear bombs, machine guns, missiles and more. So if I tried to kill all the humans
,blind and not blind, there would be a result of no dangerous threat to Triffids and I, so we could roam
around freely. Also, because Triffids are carnivorous and I am a Triffid, I could only survive by eating
meat and flesh, and there is about seven billion humans so humans could be a superior source of food.
The last reason I would kill all the humans because if all the humans were gone, Triffids could be the

invading all the buildings means we could use it for shelter, like a house. In summation this is why I
