In this essay, I will argue that the article The Great Divide in the Global Village by Bruce R. Scott
provides more logical and factual evidence that helps under the complexity of national economic
growth and development. Scott states a catching yet quick statement about how economical
promises of the world, both domestic and foreign are misleading. He states Mainstream economic
thought promises that globalization will lead to a widespread improvement in average incomes.

it the man created political and economic institutions that underlie economic success or those who
lack it. They argue that economies thrive more when the presence of less government is involved.

After Detroit rebuilt in the early 19th century, a thriving community soon sprang up. By the Civil
War, over 45,000 people were living in the city and were primarily spread along Jefferson Avenue to
the east and Fort Street to the west. The street starts in the heart of Detroit Financial District, where
it is dominated by skyscrapers. This includes the Penobscout Building, an office tower, that was
built in 1928. Upon completion, the building was the eighth tallest building in the world, the fourth
tallest in America and the tallest outside of New York and Chicago. It was the tallest building in
Michigan until 1977 after the construction of the Renaissance Center hoteltower. The building is
