Definition
• “Micro-teaching is a teacher training and
faculty development technique whereby the
teacher reviews a recording of a teaching
session, in order to get constructive feedback
from peers and/or students about what has
worked and what improvements can be made
to their teaching technique." (Allen)
• Teaching of a small unit of content to a small
group of students in a small amount of time.
• To train students/ teachers for acquiring
teaching skills.
• To improve the skills of an experienced
teacher.

Characteristics
• Set Induction: developing rapport between
students and teacher.
• Stimulus variation: to maintain the attention
of students.
• Fluency in questioning: using
comprehension, application, analysis and
synthesis techniques.

• Recognizing attending behaviour: observing students
verbal and non verbal response to learning.
• Lecturing : Simple, clear, audible, organised and
confident.
• Nor verbal language: Smile, nodding etc.
• Question skills: Asking questions for further
clarification.

• Closure:That help learner to relate new

• Can not be used in all teaching methods.
