The idea of Imperialism a policy of extending a country s power and influence through diplomacy
or military force. The two readings of The white man s burden and The Black Man s Burden:
The White Man in Africa from the Fifteenth Century to World War I show to different sides of
people and how they were affected by imperialism. The reading of The white man s burden is
written by Rudyard Kipling. In this poem is he starts off by saying how white peopleto Send forth
the best ye breed to go into exile and help their captives. Some of the other main points stated were
how white people should use small words and patiently repeat themselves in order to help the
others such as black peoplein understanding them talking. Some other points... Show more content

Man were incapable of reacting against unnatural conditions. In these regions men engaged in a
perpetual struggle against disease and an exhausting climate, and for salving the weaker members of
the community made it much more worst. The African of the tropics is capable of tremendous
physical labours. But the condition of melancholy resulting from separation from home, a malady
to which the African is specially prone. Climatic conditions forbid it. When the system is forced
upon him, the tropical African droops and dies.
So in the reading Kimpline explains the goals for the white men.One of the main goals for the
white man was to maintain a white civilization in the colonizable, or partly colonizable, around
areas of the African Continent based on servile or semi servile labor and to build up a servile
State.Even as much as they did try they still had there problems and failed in some ways.
The two readings of the White man s burden and the Black man s burden are two pieces of that
and pretty much just arguing each others point that was made in each of them. But the two reading

Grammar Checkers
Don t rely entirely on spelling and grammar checkers. These can be useful tools but they are far
from foolproof. Spell checkers have a limited dictionary, so some words that show up as
misspelled may really just not be in their memory. In addition, spell checkers will not catch
misspellings that form another valid word. For example, if you type your instead of you re, to
instead of too, or there instead of their, the spell checker won t catch the error.
Grammar checkers can be even more problematic. These programs work with a limited number of
rules, so they can t identify every error and often make mistakes. They also fail to give thorough
explanations to help you understand why a sentence should be revised. You may want to use a
grammar checker to help you identify potential run on sentences or too frequent use of the passive
voice, but you need to be able to evaluate the feedback it provides.

You re not just looking for errors that you recognize; you re also learning to recognize and correct
new errors. This is where handbooks and dictionaries come in. Keep the ones you find helpful
close at hand as you proofread.
Ignorance may be bliss, but it won t make you a better proofreader. You ll often find things that
don t seem quite right to you, but you may not be quite sure what s wrong either. A word looks
like it might be misspelled, but the spell checker didn t catch it. You think you need a comma

sure about something, look it up?
The proofreading process becomes more efficient as you develop and practice a systematic

developing your ideas while you are drafting the

Analysis Of Clip Analysis Un Chen Andalou
Clip Analysis
This clip is from the 1929 movie, Un Chien Andalou. This film uses two specific formal choices that
illustrate it s surrealism, including discontinuity editing and close ups. Discontinuity editing in this
film went against Hollywood s continuity rules of seamlessly blending scenes together that not only
made narrative sense, but visual sense as well. However in Un Chien Andalou, these rules are
broken by obscure, random images that don t seem to fit together and lack any narrative sense.
In the clip, we see a scene of a man staring at his hand where ants are crawling out of a hole, then
we see an image of a person s underarm hair that soon transitions into a picture of a sea urchin.
These series of images don t make much sense when put together, yet they illustrate the surreality
of the mind and how our thought patterns often lack any significance. The swarming of the ants
in the hand is an example of lack of pattern because it symbolizes the fragmented or swarming
images of our mind. These scenes are not only non linear, but they are also discontinuous and
show that our reality is constantly evolving; we walk away with a different interpretation of the
movie each time. Another formal choice that Un Chien Andalou uses is the close up, we see this
used in the first few minutes of the clip when the women s eye is cut. The use of the close up in
this scene brings this grotesque act to the forefront, where we cannot help but look away every
time we see it.

Student Learning Styles Paper
In the classroom it is important to collect information regarding students learning styles, readiness
level, and what hinders the student from learning. Creating instructions take time due to students
having different learning styles. Collecting data will help support the differentiated instructions that
teachers will use in the classroom to ensure all students have the capabilities to gain the knowledge
and skills needed to be successful in the classroom. Before gathering data on students, teachers must
be aware of their strengths and weaknesses to be able to help students beyond their understanding.
There are eight multiple intelligences teachers can use to incorporate differentiated instructions to
increase student learning. Gaining this kind of data will give teachers the information needed to
guide students throughout the classroom. Before teachers start a new unit or lesson the purpose
and learning goals must be established. Upon establishing these learning goals teachers will need to
have an idea of how each student learn best. Collecting data regarding students learning... Show

An article states, Developing an in depth understanding of each learner enables teachers to create a
psychologically safe environment for every learner, determine each student s readiness for learning,
identify multiple access points to the curriculum to increase engagement and success, and develop
and demonstrate greater emotional intelligence in the classroom (Kusuma Powell Powell 2011).
Teachers can build relationships and trust from students by creating an environment where students
are comfortable and feel like they can be themselves. When the relationship and trust has been
established students will open up and express their thoughts and teachers will be able to learn the
readiness level of students. Students tend to engage more when they feel comfortable and trust that
the teacher is there to encourage and motivate

Comparing Religion And Science From A Sociological Viewpoint
Question:1. Compare and contrast religion with science from a sociological viewpoint. Is science
just another form of religion, with people like physicist Stephen Hawking among its high priests or
mullah? Are science and religions simply both similar social constructions? In your response to this
question, specifically consider both how irrational social factors influence everything, and the
relationship between faithand proof. First of all, There are a number of debates about the
similarities and differences between religionwith sciencefrom aspects of sociological. Then, in my
opinion, is not just the science with people who are the physicist or high priests and mullah shaped
to religion. Religion can be forming of culture, identity, relationship, practice, power and so on.
Also, in the social constructions, science and religions are two different territories to illustrate
contemporary society. And then, there are various unreasonable social factors influence science,
religions and everything. Lastly, I think that faith and proof are mutual, reasonable, independent.
According to read the resources, there are not authoritative and qualities definition of religions.
Only, religion is typically viewed as organised, communal, traditional and in decline . (Arvanitakis,
James. Sociologic.) The understanding of religions are more complexity and diversity and different
people and groups have the different meaning. Also, the science refers to organised,

Essay On The Teaching Of Society In Lord Of The Flies
The Teaching of Society: Lord of the Flies
In the past three years, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been an unstoppable force in the Eastern
Conference of the NBA. Led by arguably the best player ever, LeBron James, they have made
three straight finals appearances, winning the Cavs first NBA titles in 2016 on a game sealing
three by point guard Kyrie Irving. LeBron himself has been to seven straight NBA Finals so one
could say he knows the game well and is to be considered a teacher of the game to his younger
teammates such as Irving. Recently, Irving has decided to step away from the Cavaliers
organization to join the Boston Celtics because he no longer wanted to be in the so called shadow
of James. Multiple sources have spoken on Lebron s basketball IQ calling it part of the reason
he is the best player right now. Now that Kyrie has joined the Celtics he is leading his team based
off things Lebron has already taught him, but only time will tell how the season will go and if
Kyrie can survive. In the novel Lord of the Flies, a group of British boys become stranded on an
island and have to use what they know about civilization already and how to behave to try and
survive on this island. In Lord of the Flies, William Golding uses the symbol of face paint to show
that someone who is civilized has disguised human nature by adapting to society s etiquette. He
also uses symbolic scenes such as when Roger is throwing rocks at Henry.

A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time Outline: INTRODUCTION: Attention Grabber:
In the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, we see a young adult, Christopher,
traveling through life and overcoming obstacles he never thought he could. Specifics regarding
the topic: In my high school today myself along with other high school students overcome
obstacles we could have never thought of our freshman year. At the beginning of our college
prep four class, students learn that college should be an adventure as dr. rouch states in his
article to incoming freshman. Thesis: Interestingly, Chris puts the practice into action when he
embarks on an adventure in spite of his Asperger s. Body Paragraph 1: Christophers Attitude:
Topic Sentence: Christopher Boone showed an exquisite attitude and was willing to take risks
during the story that most people wouldn t have if put in his shoes. Supporting reason 1: In the
story, he soon finds out his mother that he thought was dead, was alive and his father had lied to
him about his mother s whole new life because of an affair that separated the two. Christopher,
instead of jumping to conclusions decides to wait and keep him calm until he had all the pieces
put together. Chris would often say things as I didn t have enough information or i decided not
to think about it anymore that night...could easily leap to the wrong conclusion (Haddon, pg.99)
whereas most would have immediately gone ballistic. Or when he agreeing goes on the walk in
the park with Mrs. Alexander even though he feels uncomfortable around unfamiliar faces. He

keep an open mind to even while being faced with the struggles college kids will face. He
explains Adventure is an attitude and, be mindful that whatever the activity, you are preparing
yourself for an opportunity yet to be discovered. (Roush, pg. 1) Transition to next: Not only did
Boone keep an open mind and positive outlook, He took risks he didn t think he could ever do

Different Types of Communication Devices
Devices
Router
A router is a network device that routes packets to networks other than its own. Routers are almost
like a bridge between networks. Most home use routers to connect their local network (their LAN)
to the Internet (which is a wide area network) with all in one devices with routers, modems and
wireless access points built in.
Routers decide where the best route to a destination is using a file called the routing table , which
has a list of different ways to get to one direction, quantified by the metric, which determines the
distance of the path to travel so the router can efficiently pick the best path to use.

Expenses / Cost
The set up of a wireless network will generally rely on the cost of wireless routers, wireless network
adapters for every device, wireless access points (WAP) spread across the locations and installation
fees. This works out to be more expensive than a wired network.
Relatively cheaper but can be costly depending on the type of wired connections used and
installation fees. However, Ethernet, copper cables and switches are less expensive as opposed to
the features required for a wireless network. Fibre optic cables can be a lot more expensive, but
the price of installation and cable vary based on needs, area of installation and metre coverage.
Installation
Installation of wireless networks are relatively easy they often simply involve playing a wireless
access point in a place where the signal reaches the most areas. In more advanced installations, it
is common to use a radio mapper to determine where the signal does and does not reach, for
practicality and security reasons. The power of the router is important to consider and often can be
adjusted on the software side to suit the

Chinese And United States Foreign Policy

Chinese, English and United States China Foreign Policy in Asia
This memo communicates my deepening anxieties about the broadening disparity in trade and
commerce and a shift in the balance of military power between China, England and the United
States. Since our last communique, the POTUS (President of the Unites States) McKinley has
died. There s been a reversal of the Open Door Strategy since President s McKinley s
assassination. President Roosevelt now commander and chief of America and has restructured a
grand American vision for the U.S. to expand its authority far beyond her natural borders. The U.S.
goal to spread its Washingtonian Gilded Age democracy through merchants and missionaries has
ended and is now being transformed and driven by hegemony and empire building. The new
POTUS and Secretary of State John Hay (former Ambassador to England) have implemented a
strategy to make the building of the U.S military its number one national objective. We see this
large scale military buildup as a threat to both England and China.
English trade merchants rightly protest the U.S. devouring unfairly the lion s share of profits from
China s commerce that has resulted in a profound shift in the balance of Pacific trade favorably
towards the United States. England believes there are still greater plans by the U.S. to manipulate
currencies to promote their quest to conquer the entire American and

Analysis Of `` My Last Duchess And Carol Ann Duffy s ...
Several poems in the anthology explore the intensity of human emotion. Explore this theme,
referring to these three poems in detail and by referencing at least three other poems from your
wider reading.
The potent emotion of jealous love permeates throughout both Robert Browning s My Last Duchess
and Carol Ann Duffy s Medusa. Jealous love forms a central concern of the poets, with each one
focusing on different aspects, which the reader may come to identify the poems as exploring the
intensity of human emotion.
The themes of both poems show the complete mental consumption of the voice s. Their pre
dominative behaviour appears to emerge from perverted good values. The paranoid voice of a
woman, angered with her supposed cheating husband runs throughout the duration of Medusa,
seeming to grow in anger as it meets every line. In addition, Carol Ann Duffy creates an extended
metaphor of this women s transformation into the monstrous character Medusa, using members
present in Greek mythology, in order to paint a metaphorical juxtaposition of a once beautiful
woman, now a hideous gorgon due to the impact of detrimental human emotion. Detrimental
emotion being, as shown by the phrase: My brides breath soured, stank, with the use of sensory
imagery demonstrating how a slight suspicion has taken hold of the voice. Moreover, this build up
and outpour of the slight suspicion and emotion over the poem suggests that the voice has
succumbed to and has allowed herself

Discrepancies and Similarities between Shakespeare s The...
During the eleventh century, an age of discordance, people quarrel over the throne and its
succession. William Shakespeare, a playwright of the Renaissance, sculpts events from this era into
a dramatic sequence of events. The Tragedy of Macbeth displays Macbeth, a zealous thane, and his
successful homicide which results in his succession of the throne and his downfall. Each of The
Tragedy of Macbethby William Shakespeare and history has discrepancies as well as similarities
between its characters, settings, and plot events.
One element that varies and coincides between Shakespeare s Macbeth and its historical account is
the characters. According to Shakespeare, Macbeth has a right to the throne through his title: Hail
to thee, Thane of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Macbeth announces that Duncan is going to die while he is asleep in Macbeth s castle (II, i, 63
64). Shakespeare and history both say that Duncan dies in 1040, but historical accounts say that
Duncan dies in a battle near Elgin rather than in Macbeth s castle as Shakespeare describes
(Encyclopaedia). Shakespeare tells that Macbeth s crowning takes place in 1040 at Scone: He
is already named, and gone to Scone / To be invested (II, iv, 31 32). Macduff tells Ross that
Macbeth is already going to Scone to get the crown so that he can become king (II, iv, 31 32).
Parallel to Shakespeare s rendition, history states that Macbeth, like all Scottish kings between
Kenneth I and Charles II, goes to Scone to get the crown when he becomes king in 1040
(Columbia University). In Macbeth, Macbeth dies in a field near Dunsinane in 1057: Though
Birnam Wood be come to Dunsinane, / And though opposed, being of no woman born, / Yet I
will try the last. Before my body / I throw my warlike shield (V, viii, 30 32). Macbeth says this
right before his bloody death near Dunsinane (V, viii, 30 32). The Shakespearean version is akin to
history in that Macbeth s death takes place in 1057, but the two are also dissimilar due to the fact
that history states that Macbeth s death took place at Lumphanan (Encyclopaedia). Most of the
settings in Macbeth occur at the same times that historical

Spanish and French Monarchial Beliefs
The palace of Versailles was built by Louis XIV of France (1643 1715), and the Escorial was
built by Philip II of Spain (1556 1598). By examining the aerial and frontal facades of these two
palaces, it may be seen that there were many similarities and differences between the two kings
perception and practice of monarchy. Each king set his own goals for his life, and concluded as to
how a monarch ought to behave. Both Louis XIV and Philip II had religious duties to pay attention
to, organized the distribution of power in their respective kingdoms, communicated with other
countries and entities through war and diplomacy, raised militaries, and made plans for the
expansion of their own beliefs, thoughts and practices. Aside from these... Show more content on

Louis XIV preferred to delegate power to new nobles, or affluent bourgeois who had recently
received their noble status from the king. The lords who were not hereditary nobles had not yet
had enough time to gain any actual power that could be used in rebellion against the king. Philip
II, however, did not diversify the existing hierarchy of power, but embraced it. Upon the building
of the Escorial, many new Hidalgos were not created just to satisfy the needs of a larger
bureaucracy. In addition, the Roman Catholic church even went inside the walls of the Escorial.
This shows Philip II s embrace of the existing power of the Holy See. Conversely, at the court of
Versailles, Louis XIV did not make the church a significant part of his chateau, therefore
removing most of the internal persuasion from the clergy. (Even if there was a large religious
influence at Versailles, by the Pragmatic Sanction of Bourges (1438), the В‘Galician church was
politically independent from the Holy See.) br br Louis XIV and Philip II had some similar and
some different methods for handling foreign affairs. Louis XIV deployed the French army
against many different peoples, being always at war or preparing for war in order to keep peace
at home, and war abroad. Philip II also deployed his armies against various people, however, he did
so in order to expand the boundaries of Catholicism. Concerning diplomatic relations, Louis XIV

The Category And Summary Of The Lord Of The Flies

getting to be plainly savage. Reasonable Ralph turns into the assigned pioneer of a group of
military children who crash in the sea and wind up on a rich island. Initially, the gathering began
as companions, cooperating to survive, however soon they split into two camps, the other drove

battling about essential items, for example, the conch shell, to some degree an image of who s in
control, and a pair of glasses, used to start a fire. Jack and his rowdy young peers attempt to take
these. In the meantime, the tranquil and intelligent kid Simon, of Jack s gathering, sets out and
finds a cave where a creature lives, the beast being the plane s captain who survived and hung out
there. Simon returns from the experience shaken and filthy, at camp the young men assault him
with lances, slaughtering him. Afterward, Piggy, from Ralph s camp is murdered when a gigantic

Essay The Biology of Prayer and Healing
The Biology of Prayer and Healing
When we set ourselves to the work of collecting or re collecting the scattered pieces of ourselves,
we begin a task which, if carried to its natural conclusions, ultimately becomes prayer.
Skepticism
Science and Faith: Freud, one of the most well respected researchers of the human experience,
claims that religion is a universal neurosis that civilization substitutes for a more authentic personal
reality based on scientific knowledge (Jones and Butman, 1991, 77). Thus, to presume that illness
and healing have anything to do with spirituality is absurd.
Testability: Prayer and faith have no universal method of testing. Nor can it be proven that prayer
is effective, for who can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For all intents and purposes, prayer in this discussion simply means a non local language that says
something about who we are and where our destiny may be (Dossey, 1993, 6).
Prayer Treatment: the practice of people praying for someone else. This does not imply medical or
surgical treatments may not also be prescribed.
Research
The first accepted study correlating prayer to physical health was Collipp (1969), who followed
eighteen terminally ill children. Ten were selected to be prayed for by Protestant Christians, while
the other eight had no known prayer for their healing. The people praying only knew the names,
genders, and basic conditions of those for whom they were praying. Neither the children, nor their
families, nor the doctors were informed of the prayer treatment. After fifteen months, seven of the
ten children receiving prayer treatment were alive, while only two of the eight not receiving
treatment survived.
Byrd (1988) retested Collipp s findings with a larger sample. 393 patients in the coronary care unit
were assigned to two groups, one to receive daily prayer treatment from born again Christian
intercessors along with normal treatment and one to receive the normal treatment alone. After ten
months, twenty one of twenty six medical measures of health were better in the patients who
received prayer treatments (Byrd 1988) including only three

The Collection That I Am A Building Essay
The collection that I am going to be building will be focusing on children s books that feature
racially diverse main characters and or themes. The focus of this collection proposal is to bring
books with diverse characters onto the shelves and make them easily accessible and visible to
young children and families. I was provided with an allocated 5,000 dollars Canadian to spend
on this special collection. My initial goal was to select books with people of colour as the main
characters exclusively. The issue with this plan is there are lots of books about African Canadian
children but not very many about Indigenous children. Due to this, I expanded my search criteria
to include books featuring diverse characters where there were also people of colour featured as
secondary characters. By expanding my search, I was able to feature more racially diverse
characters. The first step in my selectionprocess was searchingonline for lists of books published
by organizations, schools and blogs that featured racially diverse main characters. I used
Amazon extensively once I had found titles of interest. Amazon provided me with the ISBN
numbers to search as specifically as possible and offered similar title suggestions. I cross
referenced the titles through the Halifax Public Libraries Discover Catalog to see if they were
already owned. My goal was to select new titles so I was not building a collection that already
existed somewhere else. I paid particular attention to books

1920 s According to Stuart Moss (2010), the first nightclubs started in the 1920 s. 1920 s was
the time post World War I, the nation was strong and business was booming. (Nightlife) During
that time selling alcohol was illegal and people were not accepting that new rule, therefore the
name speakeasies was invented. Speakeasies is the name for places that used to sell illegal
alcoholic beverages and some speakeasies were like clubs now a day, where people drink and
dance. (Jen and Ceyana, 2010)
1970 s
During the 1970 s, there were more types of entertainment than the 1920 s. There were bars, key
holder clubs, lounges and ballrooms, rock clubs, and disco. Bars were a place where single people
would go to find a partner; therefore the bar would be called the singles bar . Key

Public Opinion of the Affordable Care Act
Nearly two years ago the enactment of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was
signed into place by President Obama. This signature placed by President Obama has never
rested especially well with the American public. As to be expected, the views on health care laws
are colored by partisanship. Overall, the opinions towards the health car law have wavered slightly
since the passing in March of 2010, and support has yet to reach favorable in 2014.
Role of Public Opinion
Even with the public being well aware of the elements of the health care law, particularly
individual mandates, there is still a lack of understanding of it. According to Pinto (2013), 41
percent of Americans felt they had a good understanding of what the new law entailed, but even
after two years and implementation the number has increased just six points to 47 percent. The
purpose behind public opinion was to make more affordable health care insurance for uninsured
citizens originally (Pinto, 2013). Supporters of the Affordable Care Act believed that government
run insurance companies could successfully lower rates by using greater leverage than the private
industry (Pinto, 2013). Supporters of such public plans, believed that a small set of companies had
control for local health insurance markets. Having such public opinion at such a huge national level
meant insurance companies would cooperate. Many Democratic Politicians were publically in
favor of public opinion for many reasons

The Differences and Similarities Between Caged Bird and Still I Rise Caged Bird and Still I
Rise are in their own ways similar, because they are both noticeably about the coloured race and
the entrapment of that race and their bid for freedom. But both poems also display many
differences, like the use of metaphors and ways of expressing their determination and the
segregation of their race. Their titles almost sound like opposites with a capture of something and
a rise above something, but Still I Rise would also be a rise above a capture or an attempt at a

The structure of Caged Bird is clearly stated in the verses and the poem moves at a steady pace,
exploring the bird s actions and feelings throughout the poem. The first verse of this poem starts
with the freedom of the bird and its joys of being able to do what it wants, but this is short lived
and the bird is captured in the second and remainder of the verses. Although there is a theme of
the bird s song running through the whole poem, it is concentrated in verse three and the same
verse is repeated as verse six. This is so that the reader doesn t forget the message the poet is
trying to portray. The fourth verse is about the things the bird is looking forward to, if it
manages to escape its captivity, but the reality comes back to the bird in the fifth and sixth
verses, and so the bird returns to its song for freedom once again. The arrangement of the first
verse in Caged Bird starts with one capital letter at the beginning and one full stop at the end,
which suggests the movement and freedom of the bird. Still I Rise has more of a hidden message.
It does not contain a journey, unlike Caged Bird , although Still I Rise has a distinctive rhythm,
which stays the same until the last two verses, which the writer uses to get the message of the will
for her to rise above the segregation across to the reader. The rhythm also suggests the marching of
slavery, which again reinforces the message of the treatment of the

Cons Of De-Extinction
Extinction is defined as: the state or situation that results when something, such as plant or animal
species, have died out completely (Merriam Webster). The World Wildlife Foundation, otherwise
known as the WWF, says that experts estimate that the loss of animals is estimated to be between
1,000 and 10,000 times higher than the natural extinctionrate. Experts calculate that between 0.01
and 0.1% of all speciesbecome extinct each year. Although this may seem like quite low numbers
it reality is it quite large. If the lower estimate is correct, then out of the estimated two million
species on the planet, then an estimated two hundred and two thousand species will become
extinct each year. If the larger estimate is correct and that there are an estimated 100 million
different species on the planet, then that results in ten thousand and one hundred thousand species
who become extinct each year (WWF). Experts say that of all the species that existed on this
planet, 99.9% are now extinct (PBS). However, what if they could be brought back? Years ago,
species such as the Pyrenean... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Japanese And Japanese Internment Camps Essay
Japanese Americans were forced to evacuate from coastal areas following the Japanese attack on
Pearl Harbor. A massive amount of Americans who were not of Japanese descent believed that the
Japanese community could not be trusted, so the government felt that it was necessary to remove
them from their homes and place them in camps located away from militarized coastal regions. This
was a controversial decision at the time and still receives criticism today for going against typical
American constitutional values centering around citizen s unalienable rights. Through the research
of many letters written during Japanese internment or reflecting on the event, it seems that Japanese
Americans of that time period had mixed feelings about being relocated and the majority of the
community was upset that they were viewed and treated differently than other Americans but did
acknowledge that the overall treatment they received at camp was fair. Japanese Internment camps
were psychologically damaging to Japanese Americans due to the racist nature of selective forced
evacuation, and the Japanese community was more upset about being removed from their homes
than how they were treated at camp. The U.S. government was very purposeful in their goal to
make the process of internment seem to be as fair as possible to the Japanese Americans that were
being relocated. Thomas C. Clark, alien control coordinator at the time, was quoted saying we are
not going to push them around in a news

Requirements for a Career as Licensed Funeral Director Essay
Your cell phone rings in the middle of the night and you are notified that you have to go to work.
After hastily getting ready, you find yourself walking down a hallway; you turn into an empty
doorway and enter a dark, cold room that is filled with lifeless bodies waiting to be attended to.
This may be an unfavorable situation to many, but to a funeral director, it is just another day at
work. In order to become a funeral director, one must be genuinely interested, willing to fulfill the
job requirements, be able to cope with deathon a daily basis, and still maintain a positive outlook on
life.
Usually, people take on the profession of becoming a funeral director, or mortician, because of

They must also attain a state license in order to practice what they have studied (Education
Portal. 2014.). Internships are not always paid so one must really love what they are instructed
to do in order to pursue their goals of becoming a mortician. Not many people are willing to work
for free for such an elongated period of time. In New Jersey, funeral directors are also
embalmers. In other states, it may be more common to find that the funeral director and
embalmer are two different people (Park Mustacchio. 2013). Kevin Sinclair, an embalmer of
twenty two years, advocates for a person to have a certain personality in order to become an
embalmer (Bradley.2013). He does this because like everyone may know, it can be traumatic
(Bradley.2013.). Anyone may be want to become a funeral director or an embalmer, but it
requires a lot of emotional stability to deal with many dead bodies that have been distorted
because of an accident. Another mortician humorously said from his past experiences, If you can
be a successful waiter, you can be a successful funeral director (Giang. 2013.). The comparison
between the two occupations may open one s eyes to a different kind of perspective. For example,
a waiter would be accustomed to a pizza being placed in an oven just as a funeral director would be
accustomed to a corpse being placed in a crematory to be cremated. Dealing with death, more so
cadavers, takes a large amount of self discipline and

This move toward abstinence, sobriety, moderation, and puritanical thoughts about sex is more

Universities are re imposing curfews as well as rules on cohabitation, unsupervised parties,

Interpretations of Robert Frost s Poem, Design Essay
Interpretations of Robert Frost s Poem, Design
The poem Design explores whether the events in nature are simply random occurrences or part
of a larger plan by God, and if there s a force that dominates and controls our very existence. On
that point both Jere K Huzzard and Everett Carter aggress on. They differ in their interpretations
of the poem s ending and what they think Frost wanted to convey with his vague ending. Both
agree that the last line of the poem was written in an undefined way with purpose on Frost s side.
But each critic poses his own ideas regarding what is the meaning of that line. While Carter
examines the whole poem in order to answer this question, Huzzard chose to focus only on the last
two lines.

This is supported in the poem by the description of the moth as a rigid satin cloth. The satin cloth
can be seen like a bridal dress, suggestions of good, but the negativity of rigid implies perhaps on
the lining of a coffin where a rigid body would lie. In the second part of the octave the speaker
describes the scene again. He compares the scene and the assorted characters to a witch s broth
(line 6), and Carter claims that this part introduces ironies regarding the observer s feelings
towards the scene he saw. The speaker views those characters as assorted characters of death and
blight (line 4). But they are there to begin the morning right (line 5) a positive saying which you
wouldn t exact to hear associated with death and blight. This juxtaposing of blight and right
emphasizes the irony. How can the morning be right if the scene culminate in death?
In the sestet, we are presented with three questions regarding the scene in the octave. According
to Carter, a simple reading of the poem would lead the reader to think that the fourth question that
rises is also the answer to the first three, the answer being that nature is a design of evil. But he
thinks of this questions as foolish, and again, ironic. How can a flower choose its own color? Is

Media Representation Of Gay Characters In Tv Shows
Over the last few decades, our society went through a huge transformation in culture, politics and
media that no one else could have foreseen. There is an obvious increase in the acceptance of
homosexuality. Even though lesbian and gay people have gradually moved onto the stage in
growing numbers, there are still some problems exist in the ways that media perpetuate
homosexual stereotypes. According to an article by Chong suk Han, The subjective storytelling

Introduction:
The Domain Name System (DNS) is the system (or agent) responsible for resolving Domain
Names (such as www.google.com) to IP Addresses (such as 212.0.130.23), which is required to
make the Internet usable. This resolution list is distributed throughout the Internet in a hierarchy
of authority. There s normally a DNS server hosted by ISPs (Internet Service Providers) to serve
their clients (Rouse 2005). The basic operation of DNS in a single Internet resource request is
shown in Figure 1 (AFNIC 2009). It functions like a database that is distributed over DNS
machines that interact with each other to be able to respond to a user s query. The top of the
DNS hierarchy contains the top level domains, such as .com, which are controlled by top level
DNS servers. The DNS server implementation which is used for this paper is BIND, which is the
most widely used DNS server implementation on the Internet today.

woodland flames are known to be a vital reason for air contamination. Satellite information,
incorporating Measurement of Pollution in the Troposphere (MOPITT) CO, Moderate Resolution
Imaging Spectroradiometer vaporized optical profundity (MODIS AOD), and MODIS fire

what to do to help the cause. He saw this mass migration of Jewswith no place to go and wanted to
help. He secretly went to Israeli under a fake name and risked his life every day by taking
charge of the Israeli rag tag army and made it into a force to be reckoned with. He was a very
important figure in Israeli history and many believe that without him, the state of Israelwould have
never been created. That being said, there are few sources about him that encompass his story as a
whole although many mention him as a greater part of Israeli history.

Whenever his army marched into a land, it was not just an army of warriors; he brought an
entourage of scholars to spread the culture as well. Interspersed within the fighting battalions
were architects, philosophers, scribes, musicians, and educators whose whole duty was to
spread the culture to those who were conquered. Some of these strategies were the establishment
of Greek cities, Greek schools (Gymnasia), and commanding the Greek language as the official
language for government and the de facto language for commerce. Many people began to give
their children Greek names, and local styles of art and architecture began to imitate Greek
models. Even some of the Jewish High Priests took Greek names. All of this was not a good turn
of events for Israel since the Greek culture was very ungodly and humanistic. Despite the bright
and promising future ahead of him, Alexander met an unexpected death in Babylon at the age of
32 and though one will like to believe that all that he stood for will now be in vain, the case was
not so but rather what he initiated had only just begun. After the death of Alexander his field
marshals struggled for dominion of the lands they had conquered.
Ptolemaic Period (198 167 BC)
After the death of Alexander was the appointment of his successor Ptolemy (one of Alexander
commanders), germinating conflict between four emerging generals.[7]

Early Child Observation
Before starting the child observation I received permission from the child s caregiver to observe
him for at least an hour or more. Every age of development is different for every child it all
depends on how the child has developed so far for his or her age. During the observation I noticed
the child s physical development, cognitive development, social and emotional development, and
cultural influences.
I observed the young child and recorded his physical development. The young child is around the
age of 3 years old, weighs about 40 pounds, and is about 3 feet tall. The mother was the primary
caregiver of the child during the observation. The gross motor skills of the child were running and
jumping from time to time while outdoors. The cerebellum ... Show more content on

The mother spoke to him in English and Spanish and he responded back to the mother in both
languages. The child did not have trouble at all and answered very well when asked questions.
For the child being bilingual it increases his chances of having a great knowledge of knowing
things better. When the child goes to school and takes tests he will perform way better than
expected. The child also played with some girl toys because he let her borrow his toys when he
got tired of playing with them and the mother did not mind at all. The child has a pleasant culture
influence because the parent was fine and was not surprised that he was playing with girl toys.
With cultural influences being involved in the child s life he will grow up and be well behaved
and respectful person in the

Identification And Identification For Children
Most research has been done in the area of facial recognition and not in identification matching.
Photo identification is used in a variety of situations. A single picture is used for travel with
passports or in the case of photo alerts for missing children. Passports in Canada for children
under sixteen are limited to a maximum five year renewal period, differing from an adult
passport that can have up to ten years maximum (Government of Canada, n.d.). The five year
maximum renewal time may seem short when compared to adults, however, it may be too long in
the case of a growing child. This five year renewal period means that passports of infants (those 12
months or younger) can be used to identify children up to six years old. It is important to establish
how long is too long for realistic identificationby examining the factors that could hinder or aid
identificationfor children.
In 2015, there were 45,288 missing children reported in Canada (Government of Canada, 2015).
According to the FBI, the United States had over 460,000 reported missing children in 2015
(NCMEC, n.d.). These are just the reported cases of missing children, some children may not be
reported as missing. In 2015, the Government of Canada reported that nineteen children were
victims of human trafficking, over one hundred were parental abductions, almost thirty five
thousand runaways and twenty four were taken by strangers. These children can be found outside
of Canada. One third of missing Canadian

Occupancy rate: hotel Sofitel is an international brand so the popularity of the hotel is increasing
day by day. As Sofitel hotel is licensed with planet 21 gold certificate. It uses eco friendly
products and balanced dishes. So now the occupancy rate of the hotel is increasing. It has
increased to 86% from 83% in last one year.
Average room rate: Room rate of Sofitel hotel depends upon the type of the rooms. But average
room rate starts from $285 NZD. But the prestige and junior suites will have higher rate than that. It
differs because different rooms provide different facilities.
Yield percentage: Yield percentage information cannot be gained by the hotel as it is an internal
information. But as I researched about the yield percentage of hotel Sofitel they mentioned that
normally it is depending on the seasons and how many customers are visiting to their hotel in
certain time period.
Seasonality: seasonality matters a lot in the hotel industry as the occupancy is influenced by the
different seasons. New Zealand has four seasons. Those are called summer, autumn, winter and
Spring which are totally different from each other.
Summer season (December February) This is the busiest season as there are many tourists who
want to enjoy their summer in New Zealand. There are some special offers in Sofitel hotel as there
are some main festivals such as Christmas day, Boxing

Why Spotify Should Be Allowed In Schools
Even though listening to music seems like such a menial activity, it plays a big part in many
peoples lives. Everyday I see kids listening to music while doing work in the library, which
shows how big of an activity it actually is. One music streaming service that is extremely
popular is Spotify and I have noticed many people using it. However, when doing work at
school, I m not able to access my music because Spotify is blocked on the Fordham Prep wifi. If
listening to music is allowed in school, why is Spotify blocked? Spotify is one of the most
popular music streaming services, offering more songs than any other service, including Pandora
and Apple Music. After noticing many people using Spotify, both in and out of school, I decided
to join and quickly realized why it is so popular. You can access every song in just a few seconds,
making it extremely convenient for its users. I no longer have to endure the hassle of searching
through iTunesto pay $1.29 for each song that I want to listen to. Spotify also offers a lot more
features than other services do. You are able to create your own playlists as well as listen to the
many Spotify playlists, which are constantly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the main reasons is that by so many people being on it can slow down the wifi. However,
the Fordham Prep wifi is tends to be slow as it is, so how much worse can it really be? Another
solution is to block sites that are less popular or rarely used by students in order to make the wifi
faster, which can be done through a school wide survey. Overall, music is a big part of many
peoples lives, and Spotify only makes it more convenient and less expensive, something that I think
is important for high school students. By unblocking Spotify, students are able to listen to their
music freely and more easily, creating a happier and less stressful environment in

Old Earth Creationism Research Paper
As stated previously stated old earth creationism is a form of creationism that is based off of the
contents of Genesis and does use scientific theories to support itself. The main idea of old earth
creationism is that just about everything that happened in Genesis from the Bible is true, but
while it is true it is not completely accurate or even in the correct order. What this means is that
while Genesis does say everything happens over the course of a week or a seven day period, it does
not specify how long a day is. This means that a day could be anywhere from one hundred and
sixty eight hours to a few million years. If each day in Genesis is a few million years then that
would mean that the bible does partially agree with the big bang theory.... Show more content on

In Genesis in the Bible, the order in which the universe and everything that lives in it was created
started when God said the phrase Let there be light! and continued with the creation of the seas
and the creation of dryland after this God created plants and trees, then he created the sun and
moon. Next he began creating life, he began with the animals of the sea and the animals of the air,
after this he created land animals, and finally he created human beings. Logically this does not
make sense because it states the God created light, plants, and trees before he created the stars, this
is where old earth creationism comes into place, but this was already stated in the previous
paragraph, why this is being mentioned is that old earth creationism also relates to how life in the
universe was created. While the events that took place in Genesis relating to the creation of life
are believable, the only problem is how long it took God to create all the life in the universe and
the fact that a fishes, birds, land animals, and humans could not have each spontaneously appeared,
this is why old earth creationism was mentioned again. Not only does old earth creationism relate to
this, but also evolution. As stated in one of the previous

Disadvantages Of Flexible Saving Account
Flexible saving Accounts (FSAs) are a kind of cafeteria plan letting employees to choose cash

plan enables the company to expand benefit selections on a tax advantaged foundation to
employees with negligible extra out of pocket expenses. Flexible spending accounts provides
several advantages to Blue Post Company and the employees. Though, there are some difficulties to

The Leadership And Management Workflow
In every organization, the leadership and management workflow comprises the vast majority of
decision making and will be the defining factor in workplace cultures, communication, and overall
sustaining business practices. In non profit organizations, this statement holds true. For example,
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest, largest youth mentoring organization in America. Their vision
is to provide all children, especially those facing adversity, with achievable success in their lifetime.
The executive team that makes up the governing board for this organization has their own leadership
practices that will lead towards the organization having different strengths and weaknesses in
theory and in the workplace. The Contingency Leadership Theory will be discussed in context of
Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters as well as in general practice.
Organizational Description
Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters is an affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters America and has been
since 1969. Since this time, Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters has grown to the second largest
affiliate agency in the nation, serving more than 6,000 children statewide with over 4,000 children
on the waiting list. The one to one mentoring style that is provided by the organization is what sets
it apart from other organizations who also provide mentoring services. Their mission is to provide
children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one to one
relationships that change their lives

The two readings of The white man s burden and The Black Man s Burden: The White Man in Africa from the Fifteenth Century to World War I show to different sides of people and how they were affected by imperialism. The reading of The white man s burden is written by Rudyard Kipling. In this poem is he starts off by saying how white peopleto Send forth the best ye breed to go into exile and help their captives. Spell checkers have a limited dictionary, so some words that show up as misspelled may really just not be in their memory. In addition, spell checkers will not catch misspellings that form another valid word. For example, if you type your instead of you re, to instead of too, or there instead of their, the spell checker won t catch the error. Grammar checkers can be even more problematic. These programs work with a limited number of rules, so they can t identify every error and often make mistakes. They also fail to give thorough explanations to help you understand why a sentence should be revised. You may want to use a grammar checker to help you identify potential run on sentences or too frequent use of the passive voice, but you need to be able to evaluate the feedback it provides. • 4. Analysis Of Clip Analysis Un Chen Andalou Clip Analysis This clip is from the 1929 movie, Un Chien Andalou. This film uses two specific formal choices that illustrate it s surrealism, including discontinuity editing and close ups. Discontinuity editing in this film went against Hollywood s continuity rules of seamlessly blending scenes together that not only made narrative sense, but visual sense as well. However in Un Chien Andalou, these rules are broken by obscure, random images that don t seem to fit together and lack any narrative sense. In the clip, we see a scene of a man staring at his hand where ants are crawling out of a hole, then we see an image of a person s underarm hair that soon transitions into a picture of a sea urchin. These series of images don t make much sense when put together, yet they illustrate the surreality of the mind and how our thought patterns often lack any significance. The swarming of the ants in the hand is an example of lack of pattern because it symbolizes the fragmented or swarming images of our mind. These scenes are not only non linear, but they are also discontinuous and show that our reality is constantly evolving; we walk away with a different interpretation of the movie each time. Another formal choice that Un Chien Andalou uses is the close up, we see this used in the first few minutes of the clip when the women s eye is cut. The use of the close up in this scene brings this grotesque act to the forefront, where we cannot help but look away every time we see it. 2. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Student Learning Styles Paper In the classroom it is important to collect information regarding students learning styles, readiness level, and what hinders the student from learning. Creating instructions take time due to students having different learning styles. Collecting data will help support the differentiated instructions that teachers will use in the classroom to ensure all students have the capabilities to gain the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in the classroom. Before gathering data on students, teachers must be aware of their strengths and weaknesses to be able to help students beyond their understanding. There are eight multiple intelligences teachers can use to incorporate differentiated instructions to increase student learning. Gaining this kind of data will give teachers the information needed to guide students throughout the classroom. Before teachers start a new unit or lesson the purpose and learning goals must be established. Upon establishing these learning goals teachers will need to have an idea of how each student learn best. Collecting data regarding students learning... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Teachers can build relationships and trust from students by creating an environment where students are comfortable and feel like they can be themselves. Is science just another form of religion, with people like physicist Stephen Hawking among its high priests or mullah? Are science and religions simply both similar social constructions? In your response to this question, specifically consider both how irrational social factors influence everything, and the relationship between faithand proof. First of all, There are a number of debates about the similarities and differences between religionwith sciencefrom aspects of sociological. Then, in my opinion, is not just the science with people who are the physicist or high priests and mullah shaped to religion. Religion can be forming of culture, identity, relationship, practice, power and so on. Also, in the social constructions, science and religions are two different territories to illustrate contemporary society. And then, there are various unreasonable social factors influence science, religions and everything. Lastly, I think that faith and proof are mutual, reasonable, independent. • 7. Essay On The Teaching Of Society In Lord Of The Flies The Teaching of Society: Lord of the Flies In the past three years, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been an unstoppable force in the Eastern Conference of the NBA. Led by arguably the best player ever, LeBron James, they have made three straight finals appearances, winning the Cavs first NBA titles in 2016 on a game sealing three by point guard Kyrie Irving. LeBron himself has been to seven straight NBA Finals so one could say he knows the game well and is to be considered a teacher of the game to his younger teammates such as Irving. Recently, Irving has decided to step away from the Cavaliers organization to join the Boston Celtics because he no longer wanted to be in the so called shadow of James. Multiple sources have spoken on Lebron s basketball IQ calling it part of the reason he is the best player right now. Now that Kyrie has joined the Celtics he is leading his team based off things Lebron has already taught him, but only time will tell how the season will go and if Kyrie can survive. In the novel Lord of the Flies, a group of British boys become stranded on an island and have to use what they know about civilization already and how to behave to try and survive on this island. In Lord of the Flies, William Golding uses the symbol of face paint to show that someone who is civilized has disguised human nature by adapting to society s etiquette. Since our last communique, the POTUS (President of the Unites States) McKinley has died. There s been a reversal of the Open Door Strategy since President s McKinley s assassination. President Roosevelt now commander and chief of America and has restructured a grand American vision for the U.S. to expand its authority far beyond her natural borders. The U.S. goal to spread its Washingtonian Gilded Age democracy through merchants and missionaries has ended and is now being transformed and driven by hegemony and empire building. The new POTUS and Secretary of State John Hay (former Ambassador to England) have implemented a strategy to make the building of the U.S military its number one national objective. We see this large scale military buildup as a threat to both England and China. English trade merchants rightly protest the U.S. devouring unfairly the lion s share of profits from China s commerce that has resulted in a profound shift in the balance of Pacific trade favorably towards the United States. England believes there are still greater plans by the U.S. to manipulate currencies to promote their quest to conquer the entire American and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Explore this theme, referring to these three poems in detail and by referencing at least three other poems from your wider reading. The potent emotion of jealous love permeates throughout both Robert Browning s My Last Duchess and Carol Ann Duffy s Medusa. Jealous love forms a central concern of the poets, with each one focusing on different aspects, which the reader may come to identify the poems as exploring the intensity of human emotion. The themes of both poems show the complete mental consumption of the voice s. Their pre dominative behaviour appears to emerge from perverted good values. The paranoid voice of a woman, angered with her supposed cheating husband runs throughout the duration of Medusa, seeming to grow in anger as it meets every line. In addition, Carol Ann Duffy creates an extended metaphor of this women s transformation into the monstrous character Medusa, using members present in Greek mythology, in order to paint a metaphorical juxtaposition of a once beautiful woman, now a hideous gorgon due to the impact of detrimental human emotion. Detrimental emotion being, as shown by the phrase: My brides breath soured, stank, with the use of sensory imagery demonstrating how a slight suspicion has taken hold of the voice. Moreover, this build up and outpour of the slight suspicion and emotion over the poem suggests that the voice has succumbed to and has allowed herself ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

William Shakespeare, a playwright of the Renaissance, sculpts events from this era into a dramatic sequence of events. The Tragedy of Macbeth displays Macbeth, a zealous thane, and his successful homicide which results in his succession of the throne and his downfall. Macbeth announces that Duncan is going to die while he is asleep in Macbeth s castle (II, i, 63 64). Shakespeare and history both say that Duncan dies in 1040, but historical accounts say that Duncan dies in a battle near Elgin rather than in Macbeth s castle as Shakespeare describes (Encyclopaedia). Shakespeare tells that Macbeth s crowning takes place in 1040 at Scone: He is already named, and gone to Scone / To be invested (II, iv, 31 32). Macduff tells Ross that Macbeth is already going to Scone to get the crown so that he can become king (II, iv, 31 32). Parallel to Shakespeare s rendition, history states that Macbeth, like all Scottish kings between Kenneth I and Charles II, goes to Scone to get the crown when he becomes king in 1040 (Columbia University). In Macbeth, Macbeth dies in a field near Dunsinane in 1057: Though Birnam Wood be come to Dunsinane, / And though opposed, being of no woman born, / Yet I will try the last. Upon the building of the Escorial, many new Hidalgos were not created just to satisfy the needs of a larger bureaucracy. In addition, the Roman Catholic church even went inside the walls of the Escorial. This shows Philip II s embrace of the existing power of the Holy See. The focus of this collection proposal is to bring books with diverse characters onto the shelves and make them easily accessible and visible to young children and families. I was provided with an allocated 5,000 dollars Canadian to spend on this special collection. My initial goal was to select books with people of colour as the main characters exclusively. The issue with this plan is there are lots of books about African Canadian children but not very many about Indigenous children. Due to this, I expanded my search criteria to include books featuring diverse characters where there were also people of colour featured as secondary characters. By expanding my search, I was able to feature more racially diverse characters. The first step in my selectionprocess was searchingonline for lists of books published by organizations, schools and blogs that featured racially diverse main characters. I used Amazon extensively once I had found titles of interest. Amazon provided me with the ISBN numbers to search as specifically as possible and offered similar title suggestions. This signature placed by President Obama has never rested especially well with the American public. As to be expected, the views on health care laws are colored by partisanship. Overall, the opinions towards the health car law have wavered slightly since the passing in March of 2010, and support has yet to reach favorable in 2014. Role of Public Opinion Even with the public being well aware of the elements of the health care law, particularly individual mandates, there is still a lack of understanding of it. According to Pinto (2013), 41 percent of Americans felt they had a good understanding of what the new law entailed, but even after two years and implementation the number has increased just six points to 47 percent. The purpose behind public opinion was to make more affordable health care insurance for uninsured citizens originally (Pinto, 2013). Supporters of the Affordable Care Act believed that government run insurance companies could successfully lower rates by using greater leverage than the private industry (Pinto, 2013). Supporters of such public plans, believed that a small set of companies had control for local health insurance markets. Having such public opinion at such a huge national level meant insurance companies would cooperate. Many Democratic Politicians were publically in favor of public opinion for many reasons ... The Differences and Similarities Between Caged Bird and Still I Rise Caged Bird and Still I Rise are in their own ways similar, because they are both noticeably about the coloured race and the entrapment of that race and their bid for freedom. But both poems also display many differences, like the use of metaphors and ways of expressing their determination and the segregation of their race. Their titles almost sound like opposites with a capture of something and a rise above something, but Still I Rise would also be a rise above a capture or an attempt at a capture Maya Angelou, the author, was raised in segregated, rural Arkansas, and so this could be the reason for the content of her poems. The structure of Caged Bird is clearly stated in the verses and the poem moves at a steady pace, exploring the bird s actions and feelings throughout the poem. The first verse of this poem starts with the freedom of the bird and its joys of being able to do what it wants, but this is short lived and the bird is captured in the second and remainder of the verses. Although there is a theme of the bird s song running through the whole poem, it is concentrated in verse three and the same verse is repeated as verse six. This is so that the reader doesn t forget the message the poet is trying to portray. The fourth verse is about the things the bird is looking forward to, if it manages to escape its captivity, but the reality comes back to the bird in the fifth and sixth verses, and so the bird returns to its song for freedom once again. The arrangement of the first verse in Caged Bird starts with one capital letter at the beginning and one full stop at the end, which suggests the movement and freedom of the bird. Still I Rise has more of a hidden message. It does not contain a journey, unlike Caged Bird , although Still I Rise has a distinctive rhythm, which stays the same until the last two verses, which the writer uses to get the message of the will for her to rise above the segregation across to the reader. The rhythm also suggests the marching of slavery, which again reinforces the message of the treatment of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The World Wildlife Foundation, otherwise known as the WWF, says that experts estimate that the loss of animals is estimated to be between 1,000 and 10,000 times higher than the natural extinctionrate. • 26. Japanese And Japanese Internment Camps Essay Japanese Americans were forced to evacuate from coastal areas following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. A massive amount of Americans who were not of Japanese descent believed that the Japanese community could not be trusted, so the government felt that it was necessary to remove them from their homes and place them in camps located away from militarized coastal regions. This was a controversial decision at the time and still receives criticism today for going against typical American constitutional values centering around citizen s unalienable rights. Through the research of many letters written during Japanese internment or reflecting on the event, it seems that Japanese Americans of that time period had mixed feelings about being relocated and the majority of the community was upset that they were viewed and treated differently than other Americans but did acknowledge that the overall treatment they received at camp was fair. Japanese Internment camps were psychologically damaging to Japanese Americans due to the racist nature of selective forced evacuation, and the Japanese community was more upset about being removed from their homes than how they were treated at camp. The U.S. government was very purposeful in their goal to make the process of internment seem to be as fair as possible to the Japanese Americans that were being relocated. Thomas C. Introduction: The Domain Name System (DNS) is the system (or agent) responsible for resolving Domain Names (such as www.google.com) to IP Addresses (such as 212.0.130.23), which is required to make the Internet usable. This resolution list is distributed throughout the Internet in a hierarchy of authority. There s normally a DNS server hosted by ISPs (Internet Service Providers) to serve their clients (Rouse 2005). The basic operation of DNS in a single Internet resource request is shown in Figure 1 (AFNIC 2009). It functions like a database that is distributed over DNS machines that interact with each other to be able to respond to a user s query. The top of the DNS hierarchy contains the top level domains, such as .com, which are controlled by top level DNS servers. I am greatly honored to be given the opportunity to address my graduating class. As individuals and as a group, we have worked hard, we toiled, we endured, and we have come out better, with more passion and more confidence than when we began. We have survived all the different rotations, shifts, and calls, the sleepless nights and the chaos and adrenaline of the emergency room duty and the rigorous training examinations. I believe we are all proud to have made it to this day. In all sincerity, today represents a landmark achievement for each of us and our families. It is to our loved ones and all those who encouraged us through this long journey from preschool through residency that we owe our deepest thanks. The encouragement from family, friends, colleagues, faculty, staff and strangers have played a vital role in our success. Yes, talking about strangers, this reminds of a 17 year old young man who encouraged me at the Detroit Airport while we were waiting for a connecting flight to New Orleans, on the date of my arrival ... • 40. What Did David ( Mickey ) Marcus, The First General Of The... The focus of this investigation will be To what extent did David (Mickey) Marcus, the first general of the Israeli Army, affect the creation of the state of Israel? . David Marcus graduated at the top of his class at West Point and was a honored American solider during World War II. He saw the devastation that this war had caused, first hand when freeing several concentration camps after the war had just ended. Being a Jew but never in touch with his religious side, he didn t know what to do to help the cause. He saw this mass migration of Jewswith no place to go and wanted to help. He secretly went to Israeli under a fake name and risked his life every day by taking charge of the Israeli rag tag army and made it into a force to be reckoned with. He was a very important figure in Israeli history and many believe that without him, the state of Israelwould have never been created. That being said, there are few sources about him that encompass his story as a whole although many mention him as a greater part of Israeli history. Berkman, Ted. Cast a Giant Shadow: The Story of Mickey Marcus Who Died to save Jerusalem. Garden City, NY: Doubleday, 1962. Print. Cast a Giant Shadow is a biography written exclusively about David Marcus by his close friend. David had a lot of input into the creation of the work although it was written by Ted Berkman. It is the first piece found that encompassed the entire story of his life and everything he did in his career. It has value ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even some of the Jewish High Priests took Greek names. All of this was not a good turn of events for Israel since the Greek culture was very ungodly and humanistic. • 45. Identification And Identification For Children Most research has been done in the area of facial recognition and not in identification matching. Photo identification is used in a variety of situations. A single picture is used for travel with passports or in the case of photo alerts for missing children. Passports in Canada for children under sixteen are limited to a maximum five year renewal period, differing from an adult passport that can have up to ten years maximum (Government of Canada, n.d.). The five year maximum renewal time may seem short when compared to adults, however, it may be too long in the case of a growing child. This five year renewal period means that passports of infants (those 12 months or younger) can be used to identify children up to six years old. It is important to establish how long is too long for realistic identificationby examining the factors that could hinder or aid identificationfor children. In 2015, there were 45,288 missing children reported in Canada (Government of Canada, 2015). According to the FBI, the United States had over 460,000 reported missing children in 2015 (NCMEC, n.d.). These are just the reported cases of missing children, some children may not be reported as missing. In 2015, the Government of Canada reported that nineteen children were victims of human trafficking, over one hundred were parental abductions, almost thirty five thousand runaways and twenty four were taken by strangers. These children can be found outside of Canada. One third of missing Canadian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Data And Analyse Facility Utilisation And Unused Capacity Task 2: Utilisation information evidence/facts, data and analyse facility utilisation and unused capacity Occupancy rate: hotel Sofitel is an international brand so the popularity of the hotel is increasing day by day. As Sofitel hotel is licensed with planet 21 gold certificate. It uses eco friendly products and balanced dishes. So now the occupancy rate of the hotel is increasing. It has increased to 86% from 83% in last one year. Average room rate: Room rate of Sofitel hotel depends upon the type of the rooms. But average room rate starts from $285 NZD. But the prestige and junior suites will have higher rate than that. It differs because different rooms provide different facilities. Yield percentage: Yield percentage information cannot be gained by the hotel as it is an internal information. But as I researched about the yield percentage of hotel Sofitel they mentioned that normally it is depending on the seasons and how many customers are visiting to their hotel in certain time period. Seasonality: seasonality matters a lot in the hotel industry as the occupancy is influenced by the different seasons. New Zealand has four seasons. Those are called summer, autumn, winter and Spring which are totally different from each other. Summer season (December February) This is the busiest season as there are many tourists who want to enjoy their summer in New Zealand. • 47. Why Spotify Should Be Allowed In Schools Even though listening to music seems like such a menial activity, it plays a big part in many peoples lives. Everyday I see kids listening to music while doing work in the library, which shows how big of an activity it actually is. One music streaming service that is extremely popular is Spotify and I have noticed many people using it. However, when doing work at school, I m not able to access my music because Spotify is blocked on the Fordham Prep wifi. If listening to music is allowed in school, why is Spotify blocked? Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming services, offering more songs than any other service, including Pandora and Apple Music. After noticing many people using Spotify, both in and out of school, I decided to join and quickly realized why it is so popular. You can access every song in just a few seconds, making it extremely convenient for its users. I no longer have to endure the hassle of searching through iTunesto pay $1.29 for each song that I want to listen to. Spotify also offers a lot more features than other services do. You are able to create your own playlists as well as listen to the many Spotify playlists, which are constantly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the main reasons is that by so many people being on it can slow down the wifi. However, the Fordham Prep wifi is tends to be slow as it is, so how much worse can it really be? Another solution is to block sites that are less popular or rarely used by students in order to make the wifi faster, which can be done through a school wide survey. Overall, music is a big part of many peoples lives, and Spotify only makes it more convenient and less expensive, something that I think is important for high school students. By unblocking Spotify, students are able to listen to their music freely and more easily, creating a happier and less stressful environment in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Old Earth Creationism Research Paper As stated previously stated old earth creationism is a form of creationism that is based off of the contents of Genesis and does use scientific theories to support itself. The main idea of old earth creationism is that just about everything that happened in Genesis from the Bible is true, but while it is true it is not completely accurate or even in the correct order. What this means is that while Genesis does say everything happens over the course of a week or a seven day period, it does not specify how long a day is. This means that a day could be anywhere from one hundred and sixty eight hours to a few million years. If each day in Genesis is a few million years then that would mean that the bible does partially agree with the big bang theory.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Genesis in the Bible, the order in which the universe and everything that lives in it was created started when God said the phrase Let there be light! and continued with the creation of the seas and the creation of dryland after this God created plants and trees, then he created the sun and moon. Next he began creating life, he began with the animals of the sea and the animals of the air, after this he created land animals, and finally he created human beings. Logically this does not make sense because it states the God created light, plants, and trees before he created the stars, this is where old earth creationism comes into place, but this was already stated in the previous paragraph, why this is being mentioned is that old earth creationism also relates to how life in the universe was created. While the events that took place in Genesis relating to the creation of life are believable, the only problem is how long it took God to create all the life in the universe and the fact that a fishes, birds, land animals, and humans could not have each spontaneously appeared, this is why old earth creationism was mentioned again. Not only does old earth creationism relate to this, but also evolution. As stated in one of the previous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
