Amalgam Vs Composite Fillings
Amalgam vs Composite Fillings Which is Better?
Cosmetic dentistry has come a long way over the years and the days of traditional amalgam
fillings are being replaced by the use of composite fillings. Why is it that you would choose
composite fillings over traditional amalgam fillings? Dr. Glenn Reese in Acworth, GA discusses
the difference between the two filling options and why you may choose one over the other.
Amalgam Fillings
Amalgam Filling
The amalgam fillings are obvious, can you spot the composite filling?
Amalgam simply means a mixture of metals. In dentistry, amalgam fillings are typically made of
mercury, silver, tin and copper and appear silver in color. Some may worry that the mercury in the
amalgam fillings is harmful, but

I Have Learned Through Teaching
One of the many things that I have learned through teaching young people is that time goes by a
lot faster. In reflecting from my field teaching lessons, I realized that there were many things
that I was pleased with, but I also realized that there were many things I know I need to work on.
Watching a video of you teach a class is the absolute best way to self evaluate yourself. We are
most critical of ourselves when we can see our work played back to us. This experience has not
only been helpful in my teachingmethods, but it has helped me to establish a more professional and
authoritative essence in the classroom. Before students had even seen the writingassignment,
students picked up a half sheet of paper when they walked through the... Show more content on

When I began the lesson plan on verbals I had students write freely about a significant incident in
their lives in which you were taught a meaningful lesson. Students had complete freedom to write
on a topic that had happened to them, or someone they knew. When students are given the
opportunity to write about their lives, that is when we empower students with their own words. The
students were able to choose what incident they wanted to write about from their lived experiences.
After my minilesson on verbals I wanted students to incorporate these into their own writing to add
action and precise details about their significant incident. During this lesson plan I wanted to keep
in mind the one ELL student at field placement. I had gotten to know her very well through
interviewing her, and knew from previous conversations that she really struggled to understand
grammar. When students were working individually on their writing assignment, I made sure to
visit this one student in particular to be sure that she understood the concept fully. This student
works very hard, and I know she is doing twice the amount of work as every other student due to the
language barrier. Through giving this student extra time to process the new information I was able
to then check for understanding when students were working independently. This

The Negative Effects Of Technology In Dave Eggers s The...
Imagine a world where everyone s enigmatic thoughts were exposed to the public. Today, in the
vast cyberspace, anonymity leads to audacious actions of cruel words posted by rather introverted
individuals who would not dare to speak those words in a face to face encounter. Furthermore,
they refuse to be held accountable for their actions and interfere with peace by creating chaos. The
phrases secrets are lies , sharing is caring and privacyis theft (CITE?) are explicated in Dave Eggers
, The Circle. Mae Holland follows these three mantras, justified by leaders of the Circle, to make
life changing decisions. A world extracted of anonymity and instead, policed by an omniscient
public is one cause to the negative effects of technology on one s private life. In The Circle,
programs are developed in the Circle to implicate improved and advanced living conditions
through the use of technology. Ironically, these programs such as Past Perfect , ChildTrack ,
SoulSearch and SeeChange introduce immoral issues. The plot of The Circle by Dave Eggers
portrays the negative aspects of technology on private lives shown through character experiences in
the novel and raises unethical issues about the programs created in the Circle, which correspond to
the influence technology has in the real world. Mae Holland started her job at the Circle, known to
be the most powerful company in the world. It combines someone s entire online footprint into a
single online identity. The company

Comparing Beowulf, An Anglo Saxon Epic Hero
In life the courageous hero has forever stood as a standard of whom we should be and who we
wish to be. In the story of Beowulf, an Anglo Saxon epic the hero is one that is easy to
understand, Beowulf fights monsters he is loyal to his Lord and shows very strong and powerful
leadership skills. Beowulf is the perfect Anglo Saxon epic hero who displays courage, bravery, and
strength during his battles against evil. Beowulfcan be viewed as the standard courageous hero. In
this story courage is viewed as a form of glory. In the story Paradise Lost, a Christian epic poem
the hero figure has been placed upon Satan. Who in most eyes is a contradictory to the idea of a
courageous hero. Courage here is performed in the aspect of revenge. Both of these works
integrate Christian and traditional epic conventions into their story. Beowulf is a man who is filled
with Christian customs and is willing to die and defend the world against evil using the help of
God. While in Paradise Lost the story is of the fall of humanity, which is shown through the eyes of
Satan.
For the everyday person courage usually revolves around the ability to face a fear, pain, or a
difficult obstacle. Courage enables one to face danger, fear, or deviations on one s own will and
determination. With courage it is possible to can stand up for what is believed to be right or wrong.
In the epic Beowulf courage is an ongoing theme that is shown throughout the entire story. Beowulf

Companies fitting a certain archetype have benefitted from greater financial success and have been
able to build more dominant global brands relative to brand with less defined, if not confused
archetypes.
The purpose of this exploration is to examine the origins of archetypes and their relevance in the
context of global branding. In doing so, the paper will present literature that supports the importance
of archetypes and imprints in consumers perceptions and global branding, as well as the benefits
both financially and competitively to companies that utilize them. By its conclusion the discussion
attempts to build an argument substantiating the importance of archetype consciousness in global
branding in order to gain a competitive advantage beyond product attributes or pricing and
distribution strategies..
The Importance of Imprints to Branding
The author Graeme Newell in the article Marketing Without Words The Power of Emotional
Attachment to Branding discusses the importance of brands in creating an emotional attachment
and relationships with their consumers. By creating these relationships we make it easier for
customers to recognize and imprint the brands into their psyche: Most brands are easy to describe.

Factors That V Leiden Thrombophilia
Factor V Leiden Thrombophilia Thrombophilia is a disorder that contains several genetic
components that can cause an individual to form arterial and venous thrombi more readily. Many
serious medical complications can result from thrombus formations that are often times fatal. In
fact, a venous thromboembolism (VTE) is relatively common and a thrombosis of the deep
veins of the legs or pelvis can lead to morbidity and mortality. Small portions of this patient
population even develop pulmonary emboli (PE), which can be fatal. This major medical
problem affects 1 in 1,000 persons per year and approximately 1 in 130 Americans younger than
age 65 develop a VTE (Crow, 2003; Kujovich, 2011). Interestingly enough, inherited thrombophilia
can be identified in half of the patients presenting with VTE (Kujovich, 2011). In 1993, European
investigators Dahlback and his colleagues recognized a new mechanism for familial thrombophilia.
Their research was initiated in order to investigate the cause for a number of young adults that
presented with VTE, who had a family history of thrombosis but no detectable genetic link. As a
result, a previously unrecognized mechanism associated with activated protein C resistance (APCR)
was found Factor V Leiden mutation (Crow, 2003). Factor V Leiden is considered the single most
common cause of hereditary thrombophilia and is often linked to thrombosis due to hereditary
hypercoagulability. Studies have indicated that factor V Leiden is a

Elements Of My Identity
A person s identity is formed based on a variety of different factors. Every day, each individual on
this planet is currently developing the elements of establishing an actual identity. An identity can be
built through culture, family, friends, personal experiences, aspirations, interests, and even
genetics! Some aspects tend to have a greater impact on creating a persons identity, and other
aspects tend to have greater importance in a persons life than others. These factors are what make
each and every one of us unique. Since the day was born, our parents have contributed significantly
in developing our identities. Their guidance and better judgment have to lead us to become the
human beings we are today. Not to mention, some of our... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

contributes to building an individual s identity is the personal experience. During my short 18
years of life, I ve experienced failure, achievement, and change along the way. Some of my
proudest moments included becoming the salutatorian of the Allen Village High School
graduating class of 2017. Despite the hard work and dedication I put in throughout the last four
years, it was all worth it after I walked towards that stage to receive and be recognized for this
achievement. Another outstanding achievement involved earning a nursing assistant

worst feeling I ever experienced. Then, my parent s wise words and encouragement persuaded

How Does Shakespeare Use Humor In Twelfth Night
Humans have been on this planet for an estimated 200,000 years and yet we are still a cruel and
immoral species that finds the pain and manipulation of others amusing. Though the Twelfth Night
written by William Shakespeare takes place 400 years ago the humor in it has not changed as
people still find humour in Sir Andrew s antics, laugh at Malvolio s imprisonment, and giggle at the
misfortune of Antonio. The reason for that is simple; it is in human nature to mock others.
One example of Sir Andrew s abuse comes from before his first line is spoken. Maria is
reprimanding Sir Toby for his drinking and bringing is a knave too woo lady Olivia Sir Toby
reasons with her saying Why, he has three thousand ducats a year. (the Twelfth Night
, William
Shakespeare 1.3.20) This shows that Sir Toby does not care to reason that he has a kind heart or a
fine personality but only wealth for drinking. Because of this fact Sir Toby reveals his
manipulation in the final act resulting in humour at Sir Andrews expense. Sir Toby is shown to be
one of the main contributors to Sir Andrew s manipulation like when Sir Andrew wishes to leave
on the grounds that Olivia is being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Case Study For Abercrombie And Fitch
1.3 7 S model for Abercrombie and Fitch.
This model was developed by Tom Peters, Robert Waterman and Julien Philips with a help from
Richard Pascale and Anthony G. Athos in 80s and even now haven t lost its relevance as
management planning tool. Model presents 7 key elements of the company such as: Structure,
Strategy, Skills, Staff, Style, Systems, and Shared Values. The main point of the model is that all
the seven areas are interconnected and a change in one area requires change in the rest of a firm for
it to function effectively.
As we may see above all elements are connected in the particular way: Strategy, Systems and
Structure together are called Hard Ss the rest Soft Ss .
The model can be applied to many situations but, mostly such framework is used in order to:
To facilitate organizational change.
To help implement new strategy.
To identify how each area may change in a future.
To facilitate the merger of organizations.
We used this approach in order to determine previous position of the company and evaluate that
kind of changes have already been implemented by new board of directors. ... Show more content

A reactive strategy is a response to a situation that has already happened
2.2 identify the proactive and reactive strategies that are used within your work role
Proactive: care plans; risk assessments; behaviour management plans
Reactive: behaviour formulations; debriefing; care plan reviews; risk assessment reviews; team
meetings; multi disciplinary meetings; training reviews and updates
2.3 explain the importance of identifying patterns of behaviour or triggers to challenging behaviour
when establishing proactive and reactive strategies to be used
Behaviour charts or distressed reaction charts should be completed after each incident to try and
determine certain behaviour patterns and/or trigger factors. This can then be transferred into care

The visuals message that fear of accidents is overblown given the actual causes of death for
Americans is clear. A graph is the correct choice for conveying this information, but the 3D bar
graph utilized can distort the information conveyed. For example, the graph has heart disease as
the base of the pyramid, which makes sense given that heart disease was the leading cause of
death for Americans in 2003. But, the graph has other diseases as the middle of the pyramid and
looks like that is the largest group given how large its segment is. This distorts the information
being presented. The breakdown in accidental causes of death as well as other diseases creates
chart junk. This information could have been present compellingly as a series of three separate

so lower levels of LDL have been considered an excellent signal.
The LDL cholesterol inside of HDL and LDL particles is precisely the identical, it s just that, for
the maximum part, HDL is wearing it in one path and LDL is sporting it in the opposite route. The
reason why LDL were dubbed horrific and HDL has been dubbed excellent is that numerous
epidemiological studies most famously, the Framingham heart study told us that excessive LDL
levels had been related to a better chance of heart assault, and that high HDL levels have been
related to a lower risk of heart assault.
We used to suppose that HDL changed into desirable as it acted like a rubbish truck, clearing evil

manner into our coronary arteries, depositing evil cholesterol there forming plaques and causing
coronary heart attacks.

Generation Reserve Is An Important Factor In Generation
Generation reserve is an important factor in generation planning or operating process, as
discussed in the previous chapter, subsection 3.1. Traditionally, fixed percentage of the peak
load is used as a reserve for planning purpose and another one for operating purpose. On solar
generation system, both of generation and load are variable. This behavior is extremely
confusing in appropriate reserve estimation. Solar PV power changes during the day, season and
month. Moreover, clouds affects badly on PV generated power, as discussed in section 2. This

The Career Of A Neonatal Nurse
Neonatal Nursing Steven Amsterdam once said, Nursing demands vigilance about people. The
sights and smells that a patient offers, their movements and their offhand comments all
contribute crucial information to understanding what they need. Training and experience
heighten one s ability to see what needs to be seen. As a child I was given adult responsibilities,
which began when my very first nephew was born. By the age of 7 I was changing his diapers,
making him bottles, and caring for him and i couldn t think of any better career than getting to
work with babies all day. I always carry the compassion and desire to help others and nothing

Summary Of Our Guys Bernard Lefkowitz
Book Review for Our Guys Bernard Lefkowitz The book Our Guys is more of a cultural and
sociological study than just a mere crime book. Bernard provides detailed information about the
story of a young girl known as Leslie who was raped by the Jocks in a town known as Glen ridge
in New Jersey. The story reports that the Jocks had been in trouble since their middle years in
school. However they were considered the star athletes, golden boys in a town that valued
competition and athleticism. The behavior of one of the young men was so inexplicable and
revolting; however, he was never charged or punished for his actions. As Bernard puts it, you

They treated girls and women disrespectfully. Under no circumstances would they interact with
girls in a state that showed equality. This is due to the fact that almost all their activities
involved sports. What is more astonishing is that the Jockettes as Bernard calls them tolerated
the vile behavior of these boys. This may be due to the fact that the girls felt that they had no
identity or they were less important in the society. The Glen Ridge boys of the New Jersey, who
raped Leslie, were every father s pride, every mother s pride and in fact they were Our Guys. The
town of Glen Ridge emphasized on qualities such as competitiveness, sense of superiority, physical
strength and belligerence. Such qualities dominated the young boys from their kindergarten to high

chambers and passages. Mapping and exploration continues and seems like it has no end. Mammoth
Cave National Park is situated near Park City in south central Kentucky. It lies in forested and
hilly areas of three counties; Hart, Edmonson, and Barren. It occupies about 50,000 acres. A
landscape that is mainly covered by the solution features such as sinking streams, large springs,
sinking holes, and caves is referred to as karst. For instance, as shown in figure 1. The caves are

Physician Prescribing Negative Effects
Negative effects on the health care profession
Physicians privacy concerns
Data mining companies and pharmaceutical manufacturers are able easily access information
about physicians prescribing behaviors. For instance, IMS Health, an American healthcare IT
company, sends weekly updates to pharmaceutical sales representatives outlining the drugs that
physicians prescribe. Data collected over time can reveal a physician s prescribing history, his or
her preference for brand name drugs, and the probability of prescribing new drugs. The data can
help pharmaceutical companies identify which physicians prescribe their companies drugs and can
reinforce the physicians choices if needed. Drug companies are able to find out exactly when a

The Decolorization Potential of Microorganisms
The decolorization potential of microorganism was assessed by examining its ability to degrade
various textile dyes. All 10 dyes monitored showed decolorization as follows: Reactive Yellow

Green 4 (80% in 24 h), Diamond Green 4 (complete decolorization in 24 h), Pigment Orange 31
(complete decolorization in 3 h) and RO16 (complete decolorization in 2 h), while in sterile, cell
free medium decolorization did not occur up to 48 h of incubation suggesting the absence of abiotic
decolorization. As RO16 showed complete decolorization in 2 h, this industrially important toxic

thus was found to be better than the bacterial consortium DAS reported by Jadhav et al (2011).
To confirm the decolorization, UV Vis spectroscopic analysis was carried out. The absorption
spectra of RO16 before and after treatment by Lysinibacillus sp. RGS in visible range were taken.
Peak responsible for absorption maxima of parent dye (495 nm) were completely disappeared in

The First Years Of My Life
For the first fifteen years of my life, I never referred to myself as a firm believer in love at first
sight. People often tossed around the word love like it was nothing, but I knew that I had never
truly been in love before. This all changed about a month before my sixteenth birthday when I fell
in love with the windy city. In May of 2015, the band took a four day trip to Chicago. I was thrilled
for the excursion because I had only traveled outside of Kansas a few times. Those vacations
were to the beach, which is nothing like the bustling metropolis of Chicago. I had never truly
experienced the city life before, so I was beyond ready for this new adventure. When I arrived to
Chicago, I expected to see sights that were familiar to me, like in Kansas City. Hundreds of
people traveling in different directions, towering skyscrapers, and shops were all around the city.
When we were just a few miles outside from Chicago, I could see the whole skyline in the
distance. I was completely fascinated by the hundreds of skyscrapers that lined the city, and the
sunrise that turned the sky different shades of orange, yellow, and pink. The views that I
encountered while first entering Chicago were breathtaking. Throughout the whole trip, I
experienced multiple new sights, smells, and sounds. As the trip came to an end, I realized that I
had developed a true love for the natural and urban beauty of Chicago, and that I eventually want
to call this place home in a few years.

Introduction
The second piece of coursework for virtualization is to thoroughly examine two types of
virtualisation systems. The chosen virtualised systems will be selected from the ones that were
taught by guest lecturers at the end of semester one. Each virtualised system will be looked at
extensively covering their features; along with their advantages and disadvantages. Nowadays
virtualisation systems have become very popular, meaning there is completion grown in the
virtualisation market. Two examples of popular virtualised systems are Microsoft Hyper V which
was introduced as part of Windows Server 2008, and KVM the kernel based virtual machine that
turns Linux into a hypervisor. Within this report both KVM and Hyper V will be explained and
compared; as well as pointing out their good aspects and their flaws.
Virtualisation
When we use the word virtualisation we are referring to the act of creating a virtual version of
technologies found in the world of computing. Technologies such as, operating systems, servers or
a storage device. Virtualisation is a tactical and highly effective way of lowering IT cost while at

Alteration Of The Surrounding Rock
An Overview of Hydrothermal Ore Process Fluid Source, Compositions, and Transportation
Hydrothermal solutions cause alteration of the surrounding rock. Hydrothermal ore forming
processes can be found everywhere on Earth throughout the crust, most observed ore deposits have
more than likely been touched by Hydrothermal ore forming processes. Rose and Burt (1979) state
that Hydrothermal alteration is conversion of an initial mineral assemblage to a new set of minerals
more stable under hydrothermal conditions of temperature, pressure, and most importantly, fluid
composition (p. 173). Hydrothermal alteration is considered a type of metamorphism,
metamorphism is the recrystallization of a parent rock a more stable to new minerals. The type ...

Meteoric waters are widespread through the crust (because of the method of delivery being rain
rainfall) and are associated with many types of ore formations. The oxygen and hydrogen isotopes
compositions of meteoric water, both surface and as groundwater, vary systematically over the
entire globe as a function of latitude and elevation (Robb, 2005, p 133). The way in which
meteoric water is identified are the ОґD and Оґ18O isotopic values that land near or along this line
ОґD=8Г—Оґ^18 O+10. Connate water(brines) also called formational water are inclusions in
interstitial pores as deposited, which goes back to originally being meteoric water or sea water.
Through the processes of burial, compaction, and lithification ore deposits form, because of the
transformation of the sediment into lithified rock an aqueous solutions form ore deposits. The ОґD
and Оґ18O isotopic values for connate waters range a great deal. The ОґD and Оґ18O isotopic
values of oil field brines samples taken throughout North America exhibited a scattered from which
each sample was taken.
Metamorphic waters ranges from high temperatures 300 600В°C. Metamorphic waters are produces
through the processes of dehydration and decarbonation reactions in the mid and lower crust.

Struggling with grief and loss can lead to a number of serious physical and emotional ailments. In
the article Death from a Broken Heart, Dulce Zamora wrote about experiencing the strain of stress,
emotional overload, and poor self care after a death. The article highlighted the fact that grievers
are at higher risk for health problems. Studies have shown, as the article discussed, that surviving
spouses may also have increased odds of sufferingfrom heart disease and emotional problems.
This project acknowledged the physical and emotional trauma from dealing with emotional setbacks
and focused on the emotional pain of young African Americanadults at Shiloh Baptist Church (Old

This project was undertaken with the intention of helping people who lost a loved one and the
social workers, doctors, ministers, and hospice workers who are charged with bringing them
physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. The project was designed to be available in churches,
synagogues, hospitals, hospices, and support groups. This project was developed to help alleviate
the grieving s emotional pain and to suggest ways of how the grieving can pick up the pieces of
their lives.
Assumptions of the Study
Through a Qualitative Research Study on grief and loss, if people are able to identify what stages
of grief they are in, and once that realization is made consciously through psychological and
spiritual counseling, then sufferers will begin the path to healing. The study focused on African
Americans who lost one or more parent. The study excluded people younger than twenty years of
age and older than forty years of age.

Herman Webster Mudgett was born in Gilmanton, New Hampshire in May 1861 to Levi and
Theodate Mudgett. Levi was a farmer and a devout Methodist, lessons he would aggressively try
to instill in young Herman. Herman immediately exceled in school and this caused him to be
bullied. The bullying would inevitably lead him to his obsession with death and his inclination
towards the macabre. One day bullies forced him into a doctor s office and made him stare at the
skeleton figure he had face to face, while he was looking someone made the skeletal hands touch
Herman s face. Herman recalled being frightened at first but then later found the experience
fascinating, this experience cured him of any fears he may develop and allowed him to pursue a
new hobby of dissecting animals. In 1878 Herman married and had a son with a women named
Clara in Loudan, New Hampshire. Herman was not a man with any obligation towards family or
fatherhood and he eventually abandoned them both to pursue his darker desires. In 1882 Herman
enrolled in University of Michigan s department of medicine and surgery which gave him easy
access to cadavers. Being an intelligent man with no eversion to the dead he noticed that the bodies
had an insurancepolicy he could claim so he would steal the cadavers and disfigure the bodies in

The Importance of Accountability in the Army Essay examples
The Importance of Accountability Is so you know where everyone is so if you need a person
for something you will know where to find them. It is also necessary to have accountability to
make sure everyone in your unit is safe and so you make sure they are where they are supposed
to be. You also want your unit to be on standby so they are ready for anything that may happen. It
is also needed so nobody goes UA. When you have accountability it is easier to track down people
if you were to need them for anything. Being accountable means being dependable, showing up to
work and to appointments on time, meeting deadlines, being at the right place and at the right time
and doing the right thing at the right time. It is also to see if everyone... Show more content on

There many reasons why accountability is an important part of business. Showing up on time is
a very important thing when it comes to work because if you ever show up late that would be
time lost from the work day or the time you lost you could have been working on something but
because you showed up late that task was never completed on time as needed. When something
is not done it affects everything in the organization. If one thing isn t completed it affects all the
other tasks like a chain reaction. Another reason accountability is needed is so you know where
weapons are located. In leadership roles, accountability is the acknowledgment of responsibility
for actions, decisions, and resulting consequences. Some of those consequences can be loss of
pay, loss of rank, or loss of job. When you say you are going to get something done you are
accountable of getting it done no matter what because you gave your word that you were going
to get it done. Whenever you don t keep your word it makes everyone think you are not reliable.
Then none of your peers will come to you for help because you will not be able to complete the
task. Consequences when you do something wrong could mean that you can lose your job or just
get a warning. Whenever you do something wrong it is possible to correct your mistake if it is
possible to make a correction. The ways you can make a mistake when getting accountability is by
not having an up to date muster

What Is The Overall Process Of Memory Formation
Memories include many different stages of memory formation such as sensory memory, short term
memory and long term memory, which requires an intensive cascade of neuronal signalling in
many different regions in the brain in order to process. This brain wide process of memory
formation functions with each element of a memory(sights, sensations, emotions, sounds) being
encoded in its respective region of the brainthat processes these responses and result in a
reactivation of the same neural patterns during recollection. Thus, this demonstrates the overall
process of memory formation which incorporates its ability to encode, store and recall information
(Gibbs, M. E. Ng, K. T.,1977).

Acceptance In The Scarlet Ibis
Acceptance is a basic principle taught at a young age. Ever since birth, our parents and teachers
have told us acceptance is a positive thing, and to obtain it from another person we must first
accept them along with ourselves. James Hurst s The Scarlet Ibis is an exemplary illustration
validating the idea of taking the first steps toward acceptance. The story depicts a boy struggling
throughout his life, only to die due to his brother s own pride. A reader could easily infer the
theme of The Scarlet Ibisto be about an excess of pride, but it can be argued an excess of pride is
not the only theme. The contents of the story would suggest it is also a storyof acceptance. This
becomes unambiguous when the reader becomes cognizant of the fact that the narrator never truly
accepted Doodle, nor did Doodle himself. In The Scarlet Ibis, the scarlet ibis and Doodle both
display symbolic similarities in their endeavor to be accepted.
Acceptance, or rather lack thereof, can be found in Doodle and the scarlet ibis as they were
discriminated due to being lethargic and frailness. Seeing as Doodle is lethargic, the narrator
plots to kill Doodle as he was possibly not all there (Hurst 345). Doodle is also especially frail,
not being able to get too excited, too hot, too cold, or too tired and that he must always be treated
gently. Consequently, the narrator uses his delicateness against him by deliberately participating in
activities that would force Doodle to reach physical

Medical Errors And Unsafe Care Harm
Medical errors and unsafe care harm and kill thousands of Americans each year. Approximately two
million healthcare associated infections occur annually in the United States, accounting for an
estimated 90,000 deaths and more than $4.5 billion in hospital healthcare costs (Patient Safety,
2015). Safety is one of the six competencies the QSEN faculty and National Advisory Board
explained to be initiated in nursing pre licensure programs in order to increase the quality and safety
of healthcare systems. Safety in healthcare decreases risk of harm to patients and providers through
both system effectiveness and individual performance. The integration of safety in healthcare,

With clinical expertise, a nurse can identify gaps in care that would result in critical patient
outcomes and fix the gaps in time. Nurses are accountable for speaking up for patients in
situations when safety issues arise. For example, when there is a breach in sterilization and a
nurse notices the breach, the nurse is accountable to bring awareness of the breach to the staff no
matter who is responsible or what the nurse who notices the breaches position or seniority may be.
If a medical error hurts a patient, then the involved organization and nurse is accountable and
needs to take responsibility. Providing education about participating in crucial conversations
and reviewing culture principles could improve a team s ability to speak up and be accountable
(BattiÉ, Steelman, 2014). Being accountable and taking responsibility means informing the
patient of the error and damage it caused, apologizing and providing care for the injury or illness,
performing a root cause analysis of the error, and learning from the analysis by keeping the error
from occurring again. A root cause analysis needs to be done after the error occurs. All staff
associated in the error must participate in the analysis in order to keep speculation from happening
that will cover up the facts. The goal of the analysis is not to blame an individual for the error, but
rather to make changes to keep the error from happening again. Nurses are the most trusted

Essay on Louis de Bernieres s Captain Corelli’s Mandolin
Louis de Bernieres s Captain Corelli s Mandolin
Louis de Bernieres uses three principal techniques to portray the effects of war so powerfully in his
book. These techniques are the powerful narrative, strong pictorial language, and black humour.
Above all, the message is conveyed in the narrative, especially when
Louis De Bernieres graphically describes the war s impact on the soldiers who are fighting for their
country. At first, the soldiers are united in their fight against the enemy you are all young and

We fought and froze and died for an empire that has no purpose page 151. The war seems to
deaden the soldiers souls. An example of this is on page 134 I could think of nothing at all. I
was an automaton without emotion or hope . In the end the soldiers break down totally they
degenerate into despair and become like animals, as shown on page 232: Within the space of a few
days we had become skeletons, rooting for food like pigs.
The horror and hostility of the war made the soldiers despair so much that they were happy to
die Dear mother, I came into this world in a state of innocence and leave it so utterly wearied
that I am contented to die. This was how they ended up after all the atrocities they had witnessed
and committed. War is a dirty business. We all have to do terrible things. Mandras almost God like
in his beauty at the beginning, kills an old man; the war seemed to deaden all their feelings and
sympathy. They are left without emotion or hope .
By describing this degradation of morale and emotions, Louis de
Bernieres powerfully shows the physical and mental effect of war on the soldiers. A good example
of this deterioration is Mandras. Before the war he was physically beautiful, harmonious in the way
he moved, and strong. He had slim hips...sharp shoulders...a taught stomach that made him look
powerful and sculpted. However, after the war, he

1. State the major differences between the Athenian system of juries and the jury structure and its
proceedings of present day the American judicial system. One of the major differences between
the Athenian system of juries and the modern American judicial system is in the size of the actual
jury. The Athenian jury structure is made up of a very large number of jurors. For example, during
Socrates trial there were about 500 jurors present. On the other hand, in the modern American
judicial system, the jury is only composed of twelve jurors. Another difference in the structure of
the two systems is in how the jurors reach a final verdict. In the Athenian system, only a simple

Advertising Campaign Is Not An Easy Task
Firms spend large amounts on advertising, estimated to reach $600b in 2015 , this spending
represents sunk costs . Increases in spending will not necessarily prove successful; moreover an
effective campaign will engage consumers and provide positive brand attitudes. For this reason this
area of research is important and should be noted. Increasing the effectiveness of one s advertising
campaign is not an easy task; there are many issues that have to be acknowledged and, more
importantly, understood. A plethora of research has been undertaken regarding consumer
behaviour; one only needs to look at the sheer volume of academic articles and books on the topic.
There are however several categories within consumer behaviour that a firm can target dependant
on their product offering. Exposure, memory and attitude pose these issues. Foremost exposure
refers to the process by which the consumer comes in to physical contact with a marketing stimulus
and they can be exposed to this stimulus during any stage of their decision making process.
Exposure is mostly affected by three factors; the position of the advert in mediums (e.g. TV or
print); product distribution; and shelf placement. Furthermore consumer memory refers to the
persistence of learning over time ; information is retrieved both consciously and unconsciously.
Such memories can be retained for any given period of time and stem from experiences and
evaluations. Finally attitude is an evaluation a consumer expresses

Midterm Ritual Analysis By Emile Durkheim, Arnold Van...
Midterm Ritual Analysis In order to fulfill an individual s constitutional right to a trial overseen
by a jury of his or her peers, the process of juror selection is repeated every day in courtrooms
around the country. The process is not only vital to the American justice system as a whole; for the
prospective juror it is also a defining feature of their U.S. citizenship. Juror selection and the
accompanying voir dire, when examined for more than its procedural parts, reveals itself to be
more complex than a set of ordinary practices. The frameworks established by Emile Durkheim,
Arnold Van Gennep, and Victor Turner help to separate the ritual elements present in jury
duty from
aspects that are more representative of technological routine .
British structural functionalist Arnold Van Gennep was studying in circumstances very different
from the modern moment. Still, Van Gennep s analysis offers a useful framework for
understanding the stages of ritual. If one is willing to see jury duty as a rite of passage, a marker
of adulthood within American society, then one can begin to see preliminal, liminal, and
postliminal rites that make up its composition (Van Gennep 1960 p. 11). This division of rites can
be seen in the treatment of space within the courtroom. When a prospective juror begins jury
service, they partake in the pivoting that separates them from the profane world and temporarily
places them in the realm of the sacred (Van Gennep 1960 p. 12). They are identified

Analysis Of There Is A Monster By Mary Shelley
Feral children or wild children (What happens to those who grow up in complete isolation?) The
lack of parents presence and responsibilities make children become wild. These following points
show how a child becomes feral: lack of family, lack of guidance, and lack of love. In Shelley s
novel, there is a monster that was created by Victor. He has suffered these lacks. According to
Shelley s novel the creature also becomes wild because the lack of family, guidance and love. A
child that grow up without a family can be describe as a person that is living a desperate life
because that child does not have anybody around him or her to make this child feel more secure
about his or her life. To be specific, most things they can do when their parents are not around
them, they will not do it if the parents are present. Ingley says. I don t think the general public
really knows what it wants from its criminal justice system, and in particular, how it wants to
address the problem of youthful offenders in our society (Brian, paragraph 17). The lack of
family makes a great impact in these children s life because it leads them to the misbehavior; for
example, they do crimes, and also being disrespectful. Furthermore, if many children are living
with their families, the society would have another image without any crimes, and many more
problems that can make others suffer. Some of those kids ended up in jail or prison actually is

Myasthenia Gravis Research Paper
Myasthenia gravis is considered an autoimmune disease because people who have it carry an
antibody called polyclonal that destroys the acetylcholine receptors (Neurology, 2013). These
antibodies destroy receptor sites in the neuromuscular junction faster than the body can produce
them. Usually antibodies protect the body from foreign invaders like bacteria and viruses, but in
the case of MG it attacks accessories that are required for muscle movement. In a study conducted
by Jon Lindstrom and Seybold Marjorie (1998), it was concluded that out of 71 patients with MG,
87 percent of them had a greater amount of antibodies for destroying acetlycholine receptors than
normal (Lindstrom Marjorie, 1998). They compared this amount to 175 patients... Show more

For example, anti acetylcholinesterase agents like Mestinon are available; these stop the
breakdown of acetlycholine allowing more to be created, letting more of it to be attached to
receptors (Product Information, 2005). Mesttinon and similar medications have been around for
almost fifty years, however they do cause nausea, muscle cramps and involuntary twitches. There is
also corticosteroids like prednisone which basically which reduce acetylcholine receptor antibody
(Treatment for MG, 2010). They are inexpensive but they may cause hypertension and diabetes
(Treatment for MG, 2010). Another major approach to treating myasthenia gravis is removing the
thymus gland. Between ten to fifteen percent of patients with MG have a tumor in this gland. The
relationship between myasthenia gravis and the thymus gland is still a topic under major study and
for the most part is unclear. However, some scientist say the thymus gland is what produces the
acetylcholine receptor antibodies. Over the years, patients with MG have gotten this thymus gland
removal done and have experienced improvement in muscle weakness. A study done by Giuseppe
Marulli, Marco Schiavon, Egle Perissinotto and their colleagues (2012) looked at 100 patients with
MG who went through the surgery to remove the thymus gland (Marulli et al., 2012). The results
stated that it was only a 60 300 minute procedure with a median three day

Distilled Water Procedure
Procedure: Research the topic. Collect all materials needed to conduct the experiment. The first
experiment to be performed is the control test. During this time, it is optional to set up the video
camera in front of the setup so that the entire experiment can be recorded. Make sure all the water,
solutes, and equipment is at a steady room temperature. This is to ensure that temperature changes
do not drastically alter the outcome of the experiment. Pour exactly 2 ounces of distilled water into
the measuring cup. Transfer the distilled water into the boiling flask, making sure not to spill any
of the water. Add the boiling stones into the flask carefully. Insert the rubber stopper on top of the
boiling flask. Place the red spirit thermometer... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then remove the flask using the heat resistant gloves. Carefully remove the thermometer and
pull out the rubber stopper. Pour the solution out through a strainer into the sink. Remove the
boiling stones from the strainer and put them aside. Let all equipment sit for 10 minutes. Repeat
steps 15 29 using 10 grams of salt, 15 grams of salt, and 20 grams of salt. Make sure to record the
boiling points for each concentration of salt in the lab notebook. For example, when the
temperature steadies out during the test using 10 grams of salt, note down the temperature as
the boiling point reached using 10 grams of salt. Do the same for the 15 grams of salt and 20
grams of salt. At the end of the salt test, there should be 4 data points collected as shown in step
24. Once using salt as the solute is complete, repeat steps 15 30 using sugar in place of salt, then
baking soda in place of salt. Make sure to collect the data properly and in the same format and
separate from each solute. The same format of recording the data from Step 24 is used for each
solute. Analyze the recorded

The Human Of Bone Marrow Transplantation
It should be noted that marrow grafting could not have reached clinical application without animal
research, first in inbred rodents and then in outbred species E. Donnall Thomas, The Nobel Prizes,
1990 Animal research, as mentioned by Dr. E. Donnall Thomas in 1990 during his Nobel Prize
award, has been crucial for the understanding of bone marrow transplantation (BMT) as a clinical
therapy 138. His studies extensively used both mice and dogs as animal models. Other important
models used in BMT research are rats, cats, pigs and non human primates. The mouse is an
excellent animal model because of the similarities in physiological and pathological traits that they
share with other animals and humans. The field of BMT research has taken full advantage of these
qualities, and mice have become one of the most commonly used BMT animal models.
Transplantation (organ and hematopoietic) began in the early 20th century1. Several studies
published between 1949 1953 139 141 documented that organs removed and immediately
transplanted back into the same individual (autotransplants) were not rejected. However, organs
from genetically different animals but from the same species (allografts) would eventually fail
several days after transplantation. After the identification of the antigens that comprise the major
histocompatibility complexes (MHC) in the 1960 s, transplantation between genetically different
individuals became feasible 1. In the veterinary medical field, it was

Pros And Cons Of Overcoming Fear In Pirate Latitudes
In Pirate Latitudes a major theme is overcoming fear. There are many advantages that come with
overcoming fear in this story. For example, they got the galleon. Their mission was to get the
galleon, and thy succeeded by over coming fear. Also, they defeated the Kraken and Spanish
warships. They were the crew s enemies. They also gained trust in each other throughout the story
by over coming fear. They gained the trust from going through these obstacles together. The
author shows us the rewards that you get when you overcome your fear. But also there are some
disadvantages to overcoming your fear. For example, the lost crew members on their expedition.
The crew also lost a ship at sea. This is very sad to lose people that you are close with.

Economic Variables For Fedex
Expanding globally is a major decision that requires a lot of a company. Before deciding to expand
into a global market, the management team should first ensure that the company is ready for the
move. It is very important that the company has the financial managers to identify and review the
economic variables that are associated with the targeted company. Economic variables are used by
many analyses to help identify the health and strength of a selected country s economy. In this
assignment, I will discuss the important economic variables that financial managers of FedEx
Corporation need to identify before expanding in Canada. The economic variables that I will be
discussing are inflationrate, interest rate, consumer price index (CPI), unemployment rate, and
exchange rate. The first economic indicator that I will be discuss is the inflation rate. The rate
that price of products and services steadily increases is the inflation rate. The reason that the
financial managers of FedEx should be aware of the inflation rate of Canada is the fact that
higher inflation rates has an impact on the buying power of the consumers. As the prices of
products are increased due to inflation, consumers may become more reluctant to spend their
money. Also, the company may become victim of the inflation rate directly. FedEx may see an
increase in expenses if they company decides to purchase products locally and in utility bills. The
second economic variable that I will be discuss is the

History Of Float And Fly
The Float and Fly A Historical and Sporting View
There has been a LOT of talk about the Float and Fly lately in magazines and on regional TV
shows. The Newest tactic to catch big fish!
Reality is that the Float and Fly has been around for years. It was originally a way to catch crappie
in the winter. Fishermen used the rig to fish small jigs and minnows for crappie. The problem was
that in East Tennessee crappie and smallmouth seem to like to inhabit the same areas of the lake
during winter. Winter Crappie fishermen were breaking off a LOT of small jigs thanks too

Positive And Non Critical Light
positive and non critical light as one of our strongest allies in the Middle East. The media also
looked into the countries that surrounded Iran and saw them as potential bullies towards Iran and,
in turn, the United States and its assets. At this point, the Shah was the primary figurehead and
there was little to no attention given to those that opposed him and his regime within his own
country. Reporters focused more on how the Shah was positively affected his people (e.g. improved
standard of living, increased wages, westernization, infrastructure development, etc.) This gave a
very positive light to Iran, even though the Shah was still running an authoritarian police state.
Although, for the most part, western media depicted the Shah ... Show more content on

In most cases, the United States just turned a blind eye and gave the Shah the weapons that he
needed to stay in power, since he was U.S. backed. The SAVAK, the Shah s secret police, was

sales to Iran. During this time, another Iranian topic that frequented the news was the decline of the
economy and the impact that it had on oil, especially the oil that was exported to the United States.
The Shah began to realize that the stories on Iran were becoming increasingly more negative
throughout the 1970s prior to the revolution and the crisis. Because of this, he made all western
journalist submit their ideas, topics, agendas, itineraries, etc. to the Iran government before they
were approved to enter the country. If the reporters wanted to talk about something that was a little
too confrontational and provocative, they would not be granted entry.
Throughout the revolution that began in 1978, most western countries, especially America did not
fully understand the magnitude of the movement and how it would affect the outcome of the
country. American media could not understand why the revolution had occurred and why the Shah
had been deposed, even though they were reporting on the reasons, the police state, SAVAK, and
the failing economy, just prior to the

Sexuality and Television Essay
Sexuality and Television
After viewing only a few hours of television I asked myself, How is it that people can spend as
many as 20 hours watching television per week? A whole day wasted, and what has come out of
it? More garbage that will further distort any real comprehension held about what it means to be a
male or a female. What it means to be male or female in the American culture cannot be defined
with simple words, but yet can be easily distorted when viewing any commercial on television. It is
amazing how a story about an entire culture s views about sexuality can be told in only a small
portion of the day. This story about sexuality was unraveled as I forced myself to watch something

This also says that shared activities provide the basis for smooth and rewarding interaction. In
other words, the more time a person spends with someone doing things that they mutually enjoy
(shared activities), the more attracted they will be to each other. Byrne s law is completely
contradicted when it is applied to the notion that many adolescent girls fall madly in love with stars
such as the members of Backstreet Boys. There are no interactions between the obsessive girls and
the superstars, but yet these girls believe that they are destined to be with the group members.
There are never shared activities with these stars, but yet the ones who feel an unexplainable bond
with their destined one cry when beautiful women are seen around their man. One can only assume
that attractiveness is all that matters in the America, and if you don t have attractiveness, you are
hopeless.
Although music videos contain a variety of musical styles, they have many common visual themes
that inaccurately portray famous artists. These themes are the degradation of women, and the
promiscuity of men. Many of videos display women as sexual objects to be looked at while they
rhythmically dance to the beat of the song. Women are not the only dancers though; men can often
be seen grinding against many different women throughout the same song. This implies that

Conspiracy Theories Around 9-11
The worst terrorist attack in U.S history occurred on September 11, 2001. According to U.S
government officials, nineteen men hijacked four fuel loaded commercial planes with the intent to
destroy the World Trade Center in New York City, as well as both the Pentagon and the White
House in Washington D.C. The attacks began at 8:46am ET when American Airline s Flight 11
struck the North tower of the World Trade Center, causing chaos on the streets below. Not even
twenty minutes later, another commercial plane, United Airlines Flight 175, struck the south tower.
Americans and people all over the world watched helplessly as the action on the East Coast
unfolded. Any American old enough to remember can most likely tell you exactly where he or...

One MSNBC reporter, who was actually inside the north tower after the plane struck, stated I
heard a second explosion...And then a fire marshal came in and said we had to leave, because if
there was a third explosion this building might not last (Bombs and Explosions in the WTC 1).
This quote not only tells us that there was a possible explosion inside the World Trade Center,
but that there seem to have been more than one. If the collapse of the towers really was a
controlled demolition as it looked like to many, this would mean that a lot of premeditated work
to place explosives would have had to occur. Seeing as very few people have access to every place
of the World Trade Center, it does seem likely that some government cooperation would have been
needed to make it happen.
Many researchers claim that the explosions heard in and around the World Trade Center could
have been from exploding electrical transformers. They say that the heat from the fire was too
much for the transformers and caused explosions throughout the building. Author of George
Washington s Blog had this to say about the topic: Well, if exploding transformers caused these
sounds and the collapse of the Twin Towers, why didn t we hear the same things and see the
collapse of the buildings in Madrid, Venezuela, Los Angeles and elsewhere which burned hotter and

  • 2. Amalgam Vs Composite Fillings Amalgam vs Composite Fillings Which is Better? Cosmetic dentistry has come a long way over the years and the days of traditional amalgam fillings are being replaced by the use of composite fillings. Why is it that you would choose composite fillings over traditional amalgam fillings? Dr. Glenn Reese in Acworth, GA discusses the difference between the two filling options and why you may choose one over the other. Amalgam Fillings Amalgam Filling The amalgam fillings are obvious, can you spot the composite filling? Amalgam simply means a mixture of metals. • 3. I Have Learned Through Teaching One of the many things that I have learned through teaching young people is that time goes by a lot faster. In reflecting from my field teaching lessons, I realized that there were many things that I was pleased with, but I also realized that there were many things I know I need to work on. Watching a video of you teach a class is the absolute best way to self evaluate yourself. We are most critical of ourselves when we can see our work played back to us. This experience has not only been helpful in my teachingmethods, but it has helped me to establish a more professional and authoritative essence in the classroom. Before students had even seen the writingassignment, students picked up a half sheet of paper when they walked through the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I began the lesson plan on verbals I had students write freely about a significant incident in their lives in which you were taught a meaningful lesson. Students had complete freedom to write on a topic that had happened to them, or someone they knew. When students are given the opportunity to write about their lives, that is when we empower students with their own words. The students were able to choose what incident they wanted to write about from their lived experiences. After my minilesson on verbals I wanted students to incorporate these into their own writing to add action and precise details about their significant incident. During this lesson plan I wanted to keep in mind the one ELL student at field placement. I had gotten to know her very well through interviewing her, and knew from previous conversations that she really struggled to understand grammar. When students were working individually on their writing assignment, I made sure to visit this one student in particular to be sure that she understood the concept fully. This student works very hard, and I know she is doing twice the amount of work as every other student due to the language barrier. Through giving this student extra time to process the new information I was able to then check for understanding when students were working independently. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Negative Effects Of Technology In Dave Eggers s The... Imagine a world where everyone s enigmatic thoughts were exposed to the public. Today, in the vast cyberspace, anonymity leads to audacious actions of cruel words posted by rather introverted individuals who would not dare to speak those words in a face to face encounter. Furthermore, they refuse to be held accountable for their actions and interfere with peace by creating chaos. The phrases secrets are lies , sharing is caring and privacyis theft (CITE?) are explicated in Dave Eggers , The Circle. Mae Holland follows these three mantras, justified by leaders of the Circle, to make life changing decisions. A world extracted of anonymity and instead, policed by an omniscient public is one cause to the negative effects of technology on one s private life. In The Circle, programs are developed in the Circle to implicate improved and advanced living conditions through the use of technology. Ironically, these programs such as Past Perfect , ChildTrack , SoulSearch and SeeChange introduce immoral issues. The plot of The Circle by Dave Eggers portrays the negative aspects of technology on private lives shown through character experiences in the novel and raises unethical issues about the programs created in the Circle, which correspond to the influence technology has in the real world. Mae Holland started her job at the Circle, known to be the most powerful company in the world. It combines someone s entire online footprint into a single online identity. The company ... Who in most eyes is a contradictory to the idea of a courageous hero. Courage here is performed in the aspect of revenge. Both of these works integrate Christian and traditional epic conventions into their story. Beowulf is a man who is filled with Christian customs and is willing to die and defend the world against evil using the help of God. While in Paradise Lost the story is of the fall of humanity, which is shown through the eyes of Satan. For the everyday person courage usually revolves around the ability to face a fear, pain, or a difficult obstacle. Companies fitting a certain archetype have benefitted from greater financial success and have been able to build more dominant global brands relative to brand with less defined, if not confused archetypes. The purpose of this exploration is to examine the origins of archetypes and their relevance in the context of global branding. In doing so, the paper will present literature that supports the importance of archetypes and imprints in consumers perceptions and global branding, as well as the benefits both financially and competitively to companies that utilize them. By its conclusion the discussion attempts to build an argument substantiating the importance of archetype consciousness in global branding in order to gain a competitive advantage beyond product attributes or pricing and distribution strategies.. The Importance of Imprints to Branding The author Graeme Newell in the article Marketing Without Words The Power of Emotional Attachment to Branding discusses the importance of brands in creating an emotional attachment and relationships with their consumers. • 7. Factors That V Leiden Thrombophilia Factor V Leiden Thrombophilia Thrombophilia is a disorder that contains several genetic components that can cause an individual to form arterial and venous thrombi more readily. Many serious medical complications can result from thrombus formations that are often times fatal. In fact, a venous thromboembolism (VTE) is relatively common and a thrombosis of the deep veins of the legs or pelvis can lead to morbidity and mortality. Small portions of this patient population even develop pulmonary emboli (PE), which can be fatal. This major medical problem affects 1 in 1,000 persons per year and approximately 1 in 130 Americans younger than age 65 develop a VTE (Crow, 2003; Kujovich, 2011). Interestingly enough, inherited thrombophilia can be identified in half of the patients presenting with VTE (Kujovich, 2011). In 1993, European investigators Dahlback and his colleagues recognized a new mechanism for familial thrombophilia. Their research was initiated in order to investigate the cause for a number of young adults that presented with VTE, who had a family history of thrombosis but no detectable genetic link. As a result, a previously unrecognized mechanism associated with activated protein C resistance (APCR) was found Factor V Leiden mutation (Crow, 2003). Factor V Leiden is considered the single most common cause of hereditary thrombophilia and is often linked to thrombosis due to hereditary hypercoagulability. • 11. How Does Shakespeare Use Humor In Twelfth Night Humans have been on this planet for an estimated 200,000 years and yet we are still a cruel and immoral species that finds the pain and manipulation of others amusing. Though the Twelfth Night written by William Shakespeare takes place 400 years ago the humor in it has not changed as people still find humour in Sir Andrew s antics, laugh at Malvolio s imprisonment, and giggle at the misfortune of Antonio. The reason for that is simple; it is in human nature to mock others. One example of Sir Andrew s abuse comes from before his first line is spoken. Maria is reprimanding Sir Toby for his drinking and bringing is a knave too woo lady Olivia Sir Toby reasons with her saying Why, he has three thousand ducats a year. (the Twelfth Night , William Shakespeare 1.3.20) This shows that Sir Toby does not care to reason that he has a kind heart or a fine personality but only wealth for drinking. This behavior is extremely confusing in appropriate reserve estimation. Solar PV power changes during the day, season and month. The sights and smells that a patient offers, their movements and their offhand comments all contribute crucial information to understanding what they need. Training and experience heighten one s ability to see what needs to be seen. As a child I was given adult responsibilities, which began when my very first nephew was born. By the age of 7 I was changing his diapers, making him bottles, and caring for him and i couldn t think of any better career than getting to work with babies all day. I always carry the compassion and desire to help others and nothing would be more rewarding than being able to put my skills to action. The career of a Neonatal Nurse is exciting and challenging, because one is in charge of all new babies being born. The research will describe the career of a Neonatal Nurse, what is required to become successful and the impact this career has on society. Neonatal Nursing was first introduced in the 1960s. Bernard provides detailed information about the story of a young girl known as Leslie who was raped by the Jocks in a town known as Glen ridge in New Jersey. The story reports that the Jocks had been in trouble since their middle years in school. However they were considered the star athletes, golden boys in a town that valued competition and athleticism. The behavior of one of the young men was so inexplicable and revolting; however, he was never charged or punished for his actions. This is due to the fact that almost all their activities involved sports. What is more astonishing is that the Jockettes as Bernard calls them tolerated the vile behavior of these boys. This may be due to the fact that the girls felt that they had no identity or they were less important in the society. The Glen Ridge boys of the New Jersey, who raped Leslie, were every father s pride, every mother s pride and in fact they were Our Guys. People often tossed around the word love like it was nothing, but I knew that I had never truly been in love before. This all changed about a month before my sixteenth birthday when I fell in love with the windy city. In May of 2015, the band took a four day trip to Chicago. I was thrilled for the excursion because I had only traveled outside of Kansas a few times. Those vacations were to the beach, which is nothing like the bustling metropolis of Chicago. I had never truly experienced the city life before, so I was beyond ready for this new adventure. When I arrived to Chicago, I expected to see sights that were familiar to me, like in Kansas City. Hundreds of people traveling in different directions, towering skyscrapers, and shops were all around the city. When we were just a few miles outside from Chicago, I could see the whole skyline in the distance. I was completely fascinated by the hundreds of skyscrapers that lined the city, and the sunrise that turned the sky different shades of orange, yellow, and pink. The views that I encountered while first entering Chicago were breathtaking. Throughout the whole trip, I experienced multiple new sights, smells, and sounds. Ever since birth, our parents and teachers have told us acceptance is a positive thing, and to obtain it from another person we must first accept them along with ourselves. James Hurst s The Scarlet Ibis is an exemplary illustration validating the idea of taking the first steps toward acceptance. The story depicts a boy struggling throughout his life, only to die due to his brother s own pride. A reader could easily infer the theme of The Scarlet Ibisto be about an excess of pride, but it can be argued an excess of pride is not the only theme. The contents of the story would suggest it is also a storyof acceptance. This becomes unambiguous when the reader becomes cognizant of the fact that the narrator never truly accepted Doodle, nor did Doodle himself. In The Scarlet Ibis, the scarlet ibis and Doodle both display symbolic similarities in their endeavor to be accepted. Acceptance, or rather lack thereof, can be found in Doodle and the scarlet ibis as they were discriminated due to being lethargic and frailness. Seeing as Doodle is lethargic, the narrator plots to kill Doodle as he was possibly not all there (Hurst 345). • 38. Advertising Campaign Is Not An Easy Task Firms spend large amounts on advertising, estimated to reach $600b in 2015 , this spending represents sunk costs . Increases in spending will not necessarily prove successful; moreover an effective campaign will engage consumers and provide positive brand attitudes. For this reason this area of research is important and should be noted. Increasing the effectiveness of one s advertising campaign is not an easy task; there are many issues that have to be acknowledged and, more importantly, understood. A plethora of research has been undertaken regarding consumer behaviour; one only needs to look at the sheer volume of academic articles and books on the topic. There are however several categories within consumer behaviour that a firm can target dependant on their product offering. Exposure, memory and attitude pose these issues. Foremost exposure refers to the process by which the consumer comes in to physical contact with a marketing stimulus and they can be exposed to this stimulus during any stage of their decision making process. Exposure is mostly affected by three factors; the position of the advert in mediums (e.g. TV or print); product distribution; and shelf placement. • 40. Midterm Ritual Analysis By Emile Durkheim, Arnold Van... Midterm Ritual Analysis In order to fulfill an individual s constitutional right to a trial overseen by a jury of his or her peers, the process of juror selection is repeated every day in courtrooms around the country. The process is not only vital to the American justice system as a whole; for the prospective juror it is also a defining feature of their U.S. citizenship. Juror selection and the accompanying voir dire, when examined for more than its procedural parts, reveals itself to be more complex than a set of ordinary practices. The frameworks established by Emile Durkheim, Arnold Van Gennep, and Victor Turner help to separate the ritual elements present in jury duty from aspects that are more representative of technological routine . British structural functionalist Arnold Van Gennep was studying in circumstances very different from the modern moment. Still, Van Gennep s analysis offers a useful framework for understanding the stages of ritual. If one is willing to see jury duty as a rite of passage, a marker of adulthood within American society, then one can begin to see preliminal, liminal, and postliminal rites that make up its composition (Van Gennep 1960 p. 11). This division of rites can be seen in the treatment of space within the courtroom. When a prospective juror begins jury service, they partake in the pivoting that separates them from the profane world and temporarily places them in the realm of the sacred (Van Gennep 1960 p. 12). They are identified ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To be specific, most things they can do when their parents are not around them, they will not do it if the parents are present. Ingley says. I don t think the general public really knows what it wants from its criminal justice system, and in particular, how it wants to address the problem of youthful offenders in our society (Brian, paragraph 17). The lack of family makes a great impact in these children s life because it leads them to the misbehavior; for example, they do crimes, and also being disrespectful. Furthermore, if many children are living with their families, the society would have another image without any crimes, and many more problems that can make others suffer. • 43. Myasthenia Gravis Research Paper Myasthenia gravis is considered an autoimmune disease because people who have it carry an antibody called polyclonal that destroys the acetylcholine receptors (Neurology, 2013). These antibodies destroy receptor sites in the neuromuscular junction faster than the body can produce them. Usually antibodies protect the body from foreign invaders like bacteria and viruses, but in the case of MG it attacks accessories that are required for muscle movement. In a study conducted by Jon Lindstrom and Seybold Marjorie (1998), it was concluded that out of 71 patients with MG, 87 percent of them had a greater amount of antibodies for destroying acetlycholine receptors than normal (Lindstrom Marjorie, 1998). There is also corticosteroids like prednisone which basically which reduce acetylcholine receptor antibody (Treatment for MG, 2010). They are inexpensive but they may cause hypertension and diabetes (Treatment for MG, 2010). Another major approach to treating myasthenia gravis is removing the thymus gland. Between ten to fifteen percent of patients with MG have a tumor in this gland. The relationship between myasthenia gravis and the thymus gland is still a topic under major study and for the most part is unclear. However, some scientist say the thymus gland is what produces the acetylcholine receptor antibodies. Over the years, patients with MG have gotten this thymus gland removal done and have experienced improvement in muscle weakness. A study done by Giuseppe Marulli, Marco Schiavon, Egle Perissinotto and their colleagues (2012) looked at 100 patients with MG who went through the surgery to remove the thymus gland (Marulli et al., 2012). • 45. The Human Of Bone Marrow Transplantation It should be noted that marrow grafting could not have reached clinical application without animal research, first in inbred rodents and then in outbred species E. Donnall Thomas, The Nobel Prizes, 1990 Animal research, as mentioned by Dr. E. Donnall Thomas in 1990 during his Nobel Prize award, has been crucial for the understanding of bone marrow transplantation (BMT) as a clinical therapy 138. His studies extensively used both mice and dogs as animal models. Other important models used in BMT research are rats, cats, pigs and non human primates. The mouse is an excellent animal model because of the similarities in physiological and pathological traits that they share with other animals and humans. The field of BMT research has taken full advantage of these qualities, and mice have become one of the most commonly used BMT animal models. Transplantation (organ and hematopoietic) began in the early 20th century1. Several studies published between 1949 1953 139 141 documented that organs removed and immediately transplanted back into the same individual (autotransplants) were not rejected. However, organs from genetically different animals but from the same species (allografts) would eventually fail several days after transplantation. After the identification of the antigens that comprise the major histocompatibility complexes (MHC) in the 1960 s, transplantation between genetically different individuals became feasible 1. Before deciding to expand into a global market, the management team should first ensure that the company is ready for the move. It is very important that the company has the financial managers to identify and review the economic variables that are associated with the targeted company. Economic variables are used by many analyses to help identify the health and strength of a selected country s economy. In this assignment, I will discuss the important economic variables that financial managers of FedEx Corporation need to identify before expanding in Canada. The economic variables that I will be discussing are inflationrate, interest rate, consumer price index (CPI), unemployment rate, and exchange rate. The first economic indicator that I will be discuss is the inflation rate. The rate that price of products and services steadily increases is the inflation rate. The reason that the financial managers of FedEx should be aware of the inflation rate of Canada is the fact that higher inflation rates has an impact on the buying power of the consumers. As the prices of products are increased due to inflation, consumers may become more reluctant to spend their money. Also, the company may become victim of the inflation rate directly. FedEx may see an increase in expenses if they company decides to purchase products locally and in utility bills. The second economic variable that I will be discuss is the ... Reporters focused more on how the Shah was positively affected his people (e.g. improved standard of living, increased wages, westernization, infrastructure development, etc.) This gave a very positive light to Iran, even though the Shah was still running an authoritarian police state.
