This document discusses drinking water issues in north Bihar, India. It notes that north Bihar has experienced severe and recurring flooding which has contaminated water sources and damaged infrastructure. As a result, over 76% of residents lack access to safe drinking water. Megh Pyne Abhiyan has implemented various interventions like community rainwater harvesting systems, dug well revival projects, and water testing to provide flood-affected communities with access to safe drinking water. Going forward, comprehensive groundwater profiling of the region is needed to better understand and manage the groundwater resources.
