This document discusses water scarcity and ways to save water. It notes that only 0.007% of earth's water is readily accessible for drinking, yet the average American uses over 500 liters per day. Simple steps people can take to conserve water include shortening shower times, turning off faucets tightly, fixing leaks immediately, and using low-flow fixtures and water-efficient appliances. Adopting these small changes can help address the growing global water crisis.
An overview of looming worldwide fresh water shortages. Facts and figures that tell the story of the causes, impacts, and challenges we will all face in our future as populations grow and water resources change and shift.
Jeremy Bird, Director General of IWMI, discusses the huge water management challenges facing India and shows how IWMI’s research can contribute to effective and sustainable solutions.

Civilization has historically flourished around rivers and major waterways; Mesopotamia, the so-called cradle of civilization, was situated between the major rivers Tigris and Euphrates; the ancient society of the Egyptians depended entirely upon the Nile. Large metropolises like Rotterdam, London, Montreal, Paris, New York City, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, Tokyo, Chicago, and Hong Kong owe their success in part to their easy accessibility via water and the resultant expansion of trade. Islands with safe water ports, like Singapore, have flourished for the same reason. In places such as North Africa and the Middle East, where water is more scarce, access to clean drinking water was and is a major factor in human development.

In tribute to the most inspiring man who i have encountered on planet so far, a wonderful friend and constant source of brilliant ideas and resources. We are so much poorer without his presence now he has passed away, yet so much richer for knowing him, from learning from him. Your work will live on in everything I do. Go well my friend.
Evolution of Drinking Water Quality and its Filtration Process in India.pptxkitz filters
Though the home-based water filtration process in the form of boiling water was adopted, it was not totally a success. Slowly, with time; a Drinking water filter got introduced in the market which proved to be a boon. The purified form of water was not only popular for domestic purposes but also helpful in increasing the longevity of appliances.
