16. CONDITIONS OF TENDERING
● This part of the contract states the conditions
that need to be complied with by the
tenderer during the submission of tender.
● Conditions that should be taken note of are:-
- Tender deposit: In cash/Banker’s Cheque
made payable to Quantity Surveyor
- Tender bond: In the form of Bank Guarantee
or Banker’s Cheque made payable to
employer.
- Tender Validity Period: 90 Days from the final
closing date of tender

17. FINAL SUMMARY OF TENDER
● Is a part for the collection of all
priced bills for all sections of the
project
● So that tenderer can insert the
sectional summary to arrive at a
total amount which ultimately
becomes the “ tender amount”.

and employer representative.

40. FORM OF BANK GUARANTEE FOR EARNEST
MONEY
- Standard form with pre-determined wordings
- A bank guarantee may take the form of a performance
bond or a form of letter of credit.
- Banks generally require that bank guarantees which
take the form of a performance bond include a clause
which allows the bank to pay out the bond even though
there may have been no default under the contract with
the project owner

BOND
- Standard form with pre-determined wordings.
- A performance bond protects the owner from non performance and
financial exposures should the contractor default on the contract.
- It is directly tied to the underlying contract and if the contractor is

owner and contractor for project completion.
