 The aim of this project is to save the
energy
 At the time when people are not
present at the working place lighting
can be made OFF and when people
come to the are lighting can be made
sufficiently brighter
 PIR SENSOR short form
of passive infrared
sensor
 Its used to detect
whether a human has
moved in or out of the
sensor range.
 They are commonly
used found in
appliances used in
homes or businesses.
•PIR sensors allow you to sense motion,
almost always used to detect whether a
human has moved in or out of the
sensors range.
• They are small, inexpensive, low-
power, easy to use and don't wear out.
• For that reason they are commonly
found in appliances and gadgets used in
homes or businesses.
• They are often referred to as PIR,
"Passive Infrared", "Pyroelectric", or "IR
•motion" sensors.
•PIRs

Optocoupler
 LDR are useful in dark/light
sensor circuits
 Used in ON/OFF in street
lights
 Have high resistance,but
when illuminated resistance
drop.
 It is an electronic opto
sensor
 Material used:thin film of
cadmium sulphide on a
substrate on ceramics
 We have used DS1271
thermostat.
 It is a non-contact
digital type
temperature
transducer.
 Suitable for measuring
room temperatures.
 Range:-44 to124 c
 Optocoupler is a device that
uses a short optical
transmission path to
transfer a signal between
elements of the circuit.
 Electrical signal is
converted to the optical
signal and then
backelectrical signal
 The intermediate stage
between transformationof
electrical to optical signal &
vice versa is optocoupler
stage.
•The Fresnel lens condenses light,
providing a larger range of IR to the
sensor
• Up to 20 feet(6 meter
above to 7 meter)
• 180 degree sensing
• power supply;
3.3 v to 5v
(input voltage)
•Pin Name Function
•- GND Connects to Ground or Vss
•+ V+ Connects to Vdd (3.3V to 5V) @
~100uA
•OUT Output Connects to an I/O pin
set to INPUT mode (or
transistor/MOSFET)
•Jumper Setting
•Position Mode Description
•H Retrigger Output remains HIGH
when sensor is retriggered repeatedly.
Output is
•LOW when idle (not triggered).
•L Normal Output goes HIGH then LOW
when triggered. Continuous motion
•results in repeated HIGH/LOW pulses.
 Small in size
 Low cost
 Low power

By using this efficient kind of
sensor we can save the power
instantly with any physical input it
does automatically by sensing the
physical quantity or by the thermal
radiations
