Hershey Felder s The Assassination Of Irving Berlin
Encompassing over one hundred years, Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin narrates the story of America s
greatest songwriter. While the heart of the show is centered on the life and times of Irving Berlin,
impoverished Russian immigrant turned songwriter, it also addresses various political and social
issues such as anti Semitism, anti patriotism, racism, poverty, and classism issues this nation still
struggles with today. Along with its copious amounts of social and political commentary, this
biographical docudrama also uses its backdrop to explore significant events in world history (the
Russian Pogrom, World War I and II, the Cold War, the birth of American rock and roll, and the
assassination of JFK, to name a few) through the lens of Berlin. ... Show more content on

The scenic designers, Felder and Hay, designed the set to look like Berlin s home: it contains a dresser
that holds keepsakes of the songwriter s, a few chairs, a piano, and a window that doubles as a video
projector. (The projections, which showed images and clips of Berlin and his loved ones, were
designed by Andrew Wilder.) While the stage is small and the set is minimalistic, the space is used
effectively and efficiently; it is not so cluttered that it distracts from Felder. The audience s focus

A Study Of Human Migration And Settlements- Encompassing...
he Austronesian peoples have been a source of much anthropological study, attracting the intrigue of
Captain James Cook in his expeditions. The Austronesian language family is spoken by around 385
million people speaking 1200 languages, stretching from Madagascar to Rapanui making it the fifth
most spoken language family in the world (Brown, 2009). Many believe that Polynesians are
descendants of Austronesians, however the origins and spread of the Austronesians are hotly debated.
Several lines of study have been utilised to elucidate the mysteries behind this perfect case study of
human migration and settlements encompassing climate change, conflict, inter marriage, trade, and
crucially, technological advancements. Some assume the ultimate origin of pre Austronesians to be in
China, with a study by Min Shan Ko et al. (2014) proposing that the pre Austronesians migrated south
from northern China after foxtail millet domestication; continuing south after domestication of rice in
the Yangtze valley; embarking the Yellow Sea near Fuzhou and arriving in northern Taiwan around 6
KYA based on archaeological evidence (Bellwood, 1978). Some argue that the Austronesian language
family developed here of the 10 groups of the family, 9 are found only in Taiwan. The sizeable extra
Taiwanese Austronesian populations belong to the remaining group (Blust, 1999). This may indicate
Taiwan as the Urheimat , or linguistic home of the language family and arguably its people following

Delisting the Grey Wolf Essay
Delisting the Grey Wolf
The United States Fish and Wildlife Service are considering removing the gray wolf from the
endangered species list once Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming have enough wolves to be deemed
sufficient to continue to expand the wolf population, requiring only that each of these three states have
a management plan in effect to prevent the gray wolf from becoming endangered again. With the
current attitude of the governments in these states, the wolf should not lose their federal support under
the Endangered Species Act as it would merely serve to cause the wolves to become endangered once
again, or at best, held to the absolute minimum population that the states can pass off as viable, self
sustaining populations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The state legislature has favored the ranching industry above ecology and continues to do so. Public
polls conducted by Boise State indicate that the overwhelming majority of Idahoans (nearly 70
percent) support wolf restoration (Laverty, par. 4) and the legislature is seeking to remedy this by re
educating the public with a balanced view of the impact of wolves on big game species, those sectors
of the economy dependent upon sport hunting, livestock, domestic animals, and humans (State, 3).
Furthermore, the cost of wolf reintroduction will be presented as a part of any public education
program including direct and indirect costs (State, 3).
This so called balanced view was presented in a program in which the most misrepresented issues
concerned the economic impact of wolves. Ranchers were allowed to claim unsubstantiated losses,
with no attempt to validate the accuracy of these claims (Laverty, par. 2). In granting the balanced
view sought by the legislature, the program portrayed the salt of the earth rancher as a poor victim of
the federal government s whim to restore the killers (Laverty, par. 2).
The lies by omission also showed up in this balanced view program, it failed to expose the enormous
subsidies that benefit

Rape Culture Analysis
Rape culture is the environment in which rape is common and sexual violence against women is
normalized by the media. Rape culture is promoted with the use of misogynistic language, the
objectification of women s bodies, and the glamorization of sexual violence, which creates a society
that ignores the rights and safety of women. In 2013, Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams released the
summer hit Blurred Lines, which became known as a rape song. Blurred Lines is the perfect example
of how rape culture is used by the media while using misogynistic language, objectification of women
s bodies, and glamorization of sexual violence. Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams Blurred Lines
uses misogynistic lyrics that promotes rape culture. The first use of misogynistic language is in the
bridge of the song when Thicke sings Tried to domesticate you, But you re an animal. Thicke is
obviously comparing a girl to an animal in this lyric, but he also mentions that someone tried to
domesticate her, which means that they trained to tame which implies he owns her. The ownership of a
woman is a misogynistic way of thinking because people cannot own other people. Then in the hook
of the song Thicke calls the girl a Good girl, which is very condescending because it sounds like he is
speaking down to her. This suggest that he is superior to her and is asserting his male dominance. In
the second verse of the song Thicke sings You the hottest bitch in this place, which is a

Analysis Of The Film Beneath Clouds ( 2002 ) Directed...
Australia s Identity plays an important part in the stereotypes identified in the film Beneath Clouds,
(2002) directed by Ivan Sen presented through violence, racism and a less than adequate education.
Through Drover s Wife (1892) written by Henry Lawson characters are depicted through one mother s
hardships and the way she raises her family in the absence of her husband. Both Beneath Clouds and
Drover s Wife explore Australian identity and what makes it, along with the integral part of any
culture in a diverse way.
Ivan Sen illustrates racism towards the indigenous community previously stereotyped in Australia s
identity. The way Vaughn is poorly treated is most evident in the film and through the use of different
techniques. As an intimidating young Aboriginal male, Vaughn s appearance depicts the character he is
and the way different individuals categorise him. Racism is highly elaborated throughout the film
through the contrast between Vaughn as a dark skinned youth and Lena a half cast, lighter in skin
female explored through racial stereotypes in rural Australia. As scene in the film, Vaughn and Lena
are hitchhiking towards the city, a white older lady drives straight past Vaughn, whereas she stops and
offers Lena a lift. Are you right love. As Vaughn approaches the car a close up shot is used to display
the emotion on the ladies face as she rolls her eyes and drives off. Diegetic music is used in the
background to give the viewers a better insight into the scene

In the Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri, the Das family has more power over Mr. Kapasi
because they are foreigners of higher standing than the native Mr. Kapasi. It is noted early in the story
that the Das family was not like the typical family, The first thing Mr. Kapasi had noticed when he
saw Mr. And Mrs. Das, standing with their children under the portico of the hotel, was that they were
very young, perhaps not even thirty, Lahiri wrote. The Das family is extremely young and seems to
not function properly. At the beginning of the story, Mr. and Mrs. Das argue about who should take
their daughter to the bathroom. Between the two parents, a mutual responsibility over the child should
have existed. This shows that the Das family ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Arab could kill Daru, however Daru strategically prevents this from happening by treating the
Arab with kindness and respect. Daru s kindness is shown by his choice to treat the Arab like a man
instead of a prisoner. Daru eats his meals with the Arab, sleeps in the same room as the Arab, and
packs the Arab a snack for the remainder of his journey. Daru could have starved the Arab or made
him sleep in the shed, but he chooses to treat the Arab with kindness. Daru steps from his place of
power by being kind to the Arab out of fear of being killed by him, rather than genuine hospitality.
While walking to the jailhouse Daru points out two paths the Arab could take; one of the paths goes to
the jailhouse and the other goes to a village of nomads. Daru hands over his power to the Arab by
allowing him to choose his own destiny. Daru leaves the hill and the Arab, and occasionally looks
back to see if the Arab choose a path. Eventually, the Arab does not try to rise in power and follows
his instructions and goes to the jailhouse as

(Motavalli, 2010). Selling the older vehicles to the dealer or to another company/person would allow
us to offset some of the initial costs of the new vehicles. If some of the older vehicles are still in
working order and there are no major repairs needed, retrofitting the engines to meet the new
standards could also be an alternative. The cost of this is considerably lower than the purchase of a
new vehicle and it is still as effective. In researching the data, I discovered that the use of biodiesel is
an alternative fuel source as well. This fuel, a 20/80 mixture, does not require any type of retrofitting
of the engine. This product has the added ability of cleaning out the particles that have built up by the
use of using diesel fuel throughout the engine and fuel system. These particles are expelled via the
exhaust or fuel filter. The only cost that will incur would be the cost to replace the fuel filter during the
initial uses of the product until the entire system is clean. (Biodiesel facts, et. al, 2012) Another issue
that I found in my evaluation was the routing of the trucks. There seems to be a miscommunication in
the routing department with the inbound and outbound shipments. There is a system currently,
however those that are operating it do not properly communicate across the desk so to speak. With this
lack of communication between the inbound and outbound coordinators, the loads are not being

Socialization In Frankenstein
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein is a book with a message that implies that the reader will not see the
story only from the perspective of the narrator but also reveal numerous hidden opinions and form a
personal interpretation of the novel. One of its primary statements is that no one is born a monster and
a monster is created throughout socialization, and the process of socialization starts from the contact
with the creator . It is Victor Frankenstein that could not take the responsibility for his creature and
was not able to take care of his child . Pride and vanity were the qualities that directed Victor
Frankenstein to his discovery of life: He could not cope with this discovery and simply ignored it. The

In the story, one of the main conflicts is Victor versus himself. In the beginning, it shows that the man
isn t even stable in the first place. When Victor wants something, he obsesses about it without thinking
about the consequences that can occur. Obviously, the creature did not begin its life as a monster but
became one after Victor Frankenstein rejected it and refused to realize that he has to take care of this
creature from now and forever and be responsible. The creature was born a defenseless being into the
world. It was simply born and tried to see the person who made him come, the one who needed him
and loved him. But when it saw the world did not see anybody who at least gave him an arm to stand

the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled [his] heart... [p.57] When Victor finally

The Destruction Of Jerusalem And The Temple
Point #2 The destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in A.D. 70 fulfills Christ s prophecy of perilous
times.
13:
With v. 15 we come to a critical juncture in the discourse. To this point Jesus has referred to general
signs that would characterize the period preceding Israel s collapse. Here in v. 15, though, he refers to
one sign that unmistakably signals that the prophesied destruction is at hand. It would serve to alert
the people of that generation as to the proximity of Jerusalem s ruin. In response to the question,
When will these things be? Jesus now answers When you see . . . (v. 15).
Abomination of Desolation is literally, the abomination that causes desolation. In the OT, abomination
= an object of disgust, hatred, something that causes revulsion; an idolatrous offense or affront to the
true worship of God.
The Abomination of Desolation is referred to 4x in Daniel 8:13; 9:27; 11:31; 12:11. The first and
immediate reference was to the Syrian king Antiochus who ruled over Palestine in 175 65 b.c. He
called himself Theos Epiphanes ( manifest God ) but his enemies called him Epimanes ( madman; the
insane one ).
In 168 b.c. Antiochus Epiphanes slaughtered 40,000 Jews and plundered the temple. He sacrificed a
pig on the altar of burnt offering, sprinkled broth from the unclean flesh all over the holy grounds as
an act of deliberate defilement. He then erected an image of Zeus above the altar. It was a sacrilege of

Cause And Effect Of A Gun Shot Wound Be Treated With...
Illness We tend to think of every medically treatable condition as an illness, and every illness as a
medically treatable condition; and that is just not the case. There are many physical factors that have a
detrimental affect on our health: disease, infection, genetics, diet, injury, exhaustion, accidents, poison,
warfare, pollution, heredity, birth defects, and more. All of these can be considered the cause of an
unhealthy condition; but none of them are an illness. A bullet is bad for one s health, but no one is
suggesting that a gun shot wound is an illness or a disease. [Though, some community activists would
call gun violence a social sickness.] No one is suggesting that a gun shot wound be treated with
affirmations and prayer. [But, there are often prayer vigils and church services that aim to put an end
to shooting incidents.] During recovery from a gun shot wound there may be difficulties that could
properly be call illness. We could properly consider the person in recovery to not yet be well.
Affirmation and prayer may be effective at this point, in re establishing a state of well being. Though
studies have not shown that this has a beneficial affect on one s physical recovery, an increased sense
of wellness is by definition of benefit to their health. Holmes properly uses the term illness when
recommending a course of spiritual mental treatment; but it would be a mistake to think that every
condition can be treated in this way. Not every condition that

their goals: increasing profits and reducing risks. If any wrong decision is made, it may cause a big
effect and the company is easily taken over by competitors. To overcome this, financial analysis is
necessary for enterprises to obtain a clear view on their current financial situations. Then, they are able
to develop a strategic plan in order to consolidate and strengthen in the future terms. Furthermore,
financial analysis supports basic information about financial health of the companies; not only the
strengths and weaknesses but also the potential situation of the companies. Thus, they help

Euthanasi The Issue Of Euthanasia
The question of euthanasia, also referred to as mercy killing, is among the most disputable topic on
ethics in America. It refers to the intentional putting to death of a person with an incurable or painful
disease intended as an act of mercy (Newhealthguide.org, 2016). Euthanasia is closely related to
doctor assisted suicide. However, the two acts differ in that, euthanasia means injecting a terminally
sick patient with lethal dose of a drug or withdrawing feeding tubes to let the patient die of starvation.
Assisted suicide on the other hand refers to the process where a physician avails a lethal drug to the
patient. The patient or his/her next of kin usually must consent to the action. By January 2016, the
practice was allowed in the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Colombia and Luxembourg. Assisted
suicide is legal in Switzerland, Germany, Japan, and Albania, while in the United States; it is legal in
the states of Washington, Oregon, Vermont, New Mexico, Montana and California. This document
will argue about why euthanasia and physician assisted suicide should not be legalized in the
remaining 44 states of the U.S.
Position Statement
Euthanasia and physician assisted suicide are mild words used to describe murder and suicide, and
should not be legalized.
Supporting Reason
The argument that legalizing euthanasia could be used to prevent medical cost of terminally ill
patients from ballooning beyond the financial ability of their family is not justifiable based on the

Examples Of Superego In The Dark Night
Film has been able to translate these examples through their main characters and their behaviour. For
example, in the movie The Dark Night (Nolan, 2008) , the Ego is represented by Batman (Bruce
Wayne) who wants to keep order even if his methods are questionable by others. The Joker represents
the Id; he is determined to show that all people are selfish monsters inside out. Harvey Dent, who
remains over evil and chaos, looking for justice, would represent the Super Ego. Roy Scheider as
police Chief Brody will try to protect the citizens of Amity. A similar example can be found in the
movie Jaws (Spielberg, 1975). The Superego is represented by Hooper, who in order to hunt sharks
adopts a methodical and rational approach. Quin represents the Id, prone to anger, grudges and
vendettas. Brody, who acts as a mediator between Hooper and Quin, would represent the Ego. The Id
is completely controlled by the pleasure principle , which is continuously searching to release the
tension caused by any given process by the avoidance of pain and the production of pleasure (Freud,
1975). Freud explains that kid s Id controls the great majority of their behaviour. They look to satisfy

Why Is It So Hard to Stop Struggling For Land? The land struggle between Israel and Palestine have

river and lakes are scarce in this area. Jordan River is the only perennial river in this region. River and
lakes are direct water sources for human. Thus, naturally, the Jordan River becomes the fuse of the
struggle for land in Israel and Palestine.
Vengeance
Israel will settle scores with those who are killing and those who are encouraging them. Anyone who
raises their hand against us will have their hand cut off. (Bob Fredericks, 2015 [4]). After reading
Netanyahu s words, we can truly know how the vengeance plays a part in the Conflicts between Israel
and Palestine. The vengeance in two groups of people just started at Jewish immigration began. Small
anger and shock cumulated to a huge crack in two sides. When one side launched rockets, the other
side must take a counter back to against. Thus, this the reason why the vengeance causes the struggle
in two sides.
Religious
It s definitely a religious war. That the land struggle especially happens in Jerusalem and the holy sites
can explain this. And also, two leaders both use religion in recent

Treacher Collins Syndrome Essay
Clinically, the oral findings were high arched palate in all cases, malocclusion in 6 cases and
macrostomia in 4 cases while multiple impactions of the teeth were detected in four patients (Gataa,
2015, p. 7713). Additionally, only one patient had a cleft palate. From a radiographic perspective, all
patients had zygomatic hypoplasia and seven patients had maxillary sinus hypoplasia. Many patients
also had micrognathia and short ramus of the mandible. As only two patients had family history of
TCS, six patients had TCS due to a new mutation. These results exemplify the notion that TCS
patients are all affected differently, and with varying types and degrees of deformities, due to the fact
that most cases arise from a new mutation. Living ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This review discussed how Treacher Collins syndrome is caused by a decline in migrating neural crest
cells as determined in the genetic study, which suggested that inhibited p53 gene function could help
to prevent craniofacial anomalies. The decline in migrating neural crest cells then results in many oral
and dental malformations as exhibited in the clinical study, such as a high arched palate, malocclusion,
macrostomia, multiple impactions of the teeth, and cleft palate. The presence of these malformations
has been shown to have a negative correlation on the lives of those diagnosed with the syndrome as
portrayed in the quality of life study. High levels of depression and low levels of quality of life were
seen in patients diagnosed with TCS. Researchers are starting to gain more insight into the causes of
TCS which could help in determining a prevention for TCS. A definitive procedure to prevent TCS,
including what triggers the activation of p53 and the resulting loss of neural crest cells, would be a
significant discovery given the evidence of physical and emotional effects Treacher Collins syndrome

Indulekha
Indulekha is a Malayalam novel written by O. Chandu Menon. Published in 1889, it was the first
major novel in Malayalam language. It was a landmark in the history of Malayalam literature and
initiated novel as a new flourishing genre. The novel is about a beautiful, well educated lady of a Nair
tharavadu. The novel was written at a time when there was an emerging class of upper caste and also
explains about the matriarchy family.
Aristocratic, accomplished, educated in English and incomparably stunning, Indulekha loves her first
cousin Madhavan, returns her devotion and holds revolutionary views. She fights a composed and
humorous battle to palm off the filthy and older Surinambuthiripad, seeks a sambandam along with
her. And Indulekha uses the primary person singular as she rejects his advances, her action

There was a split between Western ideal and traditional practices with educated Indians. The
Nambudiri Brahmins of Kerala, traditionally had matrimonial relations with Nair ladies, referred to as
Sambandham, Since solely the oldest Nambudiri youth was allowed to marry a Brahmin woman. The
younger sons were inspired to own Sambandham with Nair ladies, so as to take care of male
inheritance, since the kids born from such relations belonged to their mother s family. The social
system (matriarchy) practices by the Nairs were also coming under attack during this era. Many
Nambudiri men though learned in Vedas and Sanskrit, had little knowledge of English and Western

times, yet because of the struggle by Nair women to interrupt out of the old principle of Sambandham,

I Am A Girl, The World Of Esthetics Intrigued Me
About Me
Every since I was a little girl, the world of esthetics intrigued me. I have always loved the way people
can manipulate their features and transform them, whether that is hair, skin, nails or cosmetics. As I
grew up to began to become more and more attracted to cosmetics. My passion for it did not begin
until high school, where I realized my full potential. Throughout my four years of high school I was
on the dance team, where our makeup had to look uniform. As a freshman, my 15 year old friends did
not know a thing about makeup and I knew the basics. They would have me do their makeup and
would always tell me that I should be a makeup artist. As the years went by my abilities in makeup

My makeup line will be sure not to anything harmful to a consumer s skin, which is why the proper
research is necessary.
Starting a Makeup Line
Research and Design
One of the most important steps in starting a makeup line is finding a research lab to work with, which
is where most of my time will be spent. (Marlena, 2012) In a research lab I will decide what
ingredients that I want in my line. It is very important to find a lab that is credible and trustworthy.
There are many expensive brands in the industry that are in the higher range of prices. I want my line
to be affordable therefore I need a affordable lab that will help me create quality products. Another
important step is finding a factory for packaging and filling. This is where I will be able to decide how
I want my line to look. Smart packaging helps its targeted consumers feel an emotional attachment to
a brand. (Jarski,2014) choosing the smartest color scheme, shape, and design of my product can
determine how well my product can sell. About one third of a consumer s decision to purchase
something is its display or packaging. Especially in the beauty market today, I have to make sure my
products appeal to consumers. Cosmetics is all about empowerment therefore I need a product that is
going to appeal to that side of a woman.
According to the graph, many women have an emotional attachment to makeup which makes them
feel in control (Gaillie, 2013) It is important for me to

a. This classroom supports literacy in numerous ways. There are visual aids all over the walls about
various subjects such as high frequency words, weather, days of the week, months, bullying, class
rules, a birthday wall, and consequences for bad behavior. Mrs. Brandt also has five stations set up
around her room and each one of them are labeled which is important for children because they will

A Universal Message in Mountains Beyond Mountains Essay
A Universal Message in Mountains Beyond Mountains The suffering and misery of the poor and
destitute has long been reported on and documented by writers all over the world. The circumstances
and stories of the less fortunate are accounted by authors who sometimes distance themselves from the
people they write about. However, Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder focuses on the
work of Dr. Paul Farmer, a man who works tirelessly to comfort the sick and dying in the poorest
countries in the world. Instead of being a simple biography about a wonderful man, Kidder weaves his
own message of human rights into the book. Kidder successfully conveys his message that universal

The suffering of a poor man in America is not the same as a poor man in Haiti. A man in America has
more access to hospitals, shelters, and basic needs than a man in Haiti. Kidder s main message lies in
this principle. While progress has been made in medical technology in powerful countries, moral
progress has not developed at the same rate. A man who would agree with Kidder s message of the
universal right of health care is Mahatmas Gandhi. In his speech Economic and Moral Progress
Gandhi says that many people mistake economic progress for moral progress. He points out those
countries have become more industrial as well as technologically advanced but this upgrade has been
at the expense of their obligations to their morality. He cites an example he is very familiar with the
cruel oppression of the British Empire over India. The people were rationed to one meal a day, No one
has ever suggested that grinding pauperism can lead to anything else than moral degradation. Every
human being has a right to live and therefore to find the wherewithal to feed himself and where
necessary to clothe himself (334). Gandhi asserts his belief that there are a basic set of human rights
that all people are born with no matter what country they live in, what their status, or how much
money they earn. In part II of the book Farmer explains some of the circumstances that have been laid

Laur Herring Body Art Analysis
Art Critique
The artwork that I chose to critique is Body Image by Laur Herring. In the drawing I see a woman
sitting down as if to be taking a selfie, but the position is around the abdomen area. The shoulder
down to her lap is shown as she places her hand onto her stomach as she grabs it. She is wearing only
a black sports bra and jeans to see her body better. There is red and scratch marks spread across the
artwork. She seems to be self conscious about her stomach as her grip is tight to pull it off because she
believes she s fat. She is showing she wants to be thinner and doesn t like to be fat.

We will live in a society that pictures woman with a flat stomach, big boobs, and big butts. She was
probably overthinking that she ll never get that image to be accepted in society. The red on her body is
for the things that she been through and all the problems of people putting her down. The black on her
body means that she became dark but she tries to overcome the darkness and the scars. The darkness
represents her life scars represent her insecurities like an outcast. I think the artwork is very
descriptive and creative I can really interpret what it means. I know lots of women go through the
struggle of loving themselves and being okay with how they look. Sometimes I m self conscious about
how I look but I realize that I have to build self confidence and love myself for me. This artwork
makes me think of a time when one of my friends was going through a tough time and criticize herself
about her body. I had to show her that it doesn t matter what shape or size she was it s about the
person she is inside not what is on the outside. A wise person once said, You are either as beautiful or
as ugly as you believe you are. You define your beauty. That s not a power anyone can have over you.
I chose this artwork because it represents how women can be self conscious about the way they look
and how society wants to see us in a different image. We need to help each other build self confidence

As they marched down the passageway, Nariman opened his eyes. From his supine position he saw
the glum portraits of his fore fathers on the walls. Strange, how their eyes looked at him as though
they were the living and he the dead (89).
Family Matters also challenges the linearity of causality which is intimately linked with reason and
individualism. Rational causality is replaced by the irrationality of coincidence or destiny. Yezad, who
is in the beginning of the novel was the incarnation of sovereign undertaking, completely loses the
will to shape his own destiny and become a religious fanatic. In the end, he thinks that Man proposes,

The Benefits Of Electronic Medical Records
Introduction The benefits of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) significantly outweigh the
disadvantages, when it comes to the nursing care of patients in multiple settings. There have been
multiple studies proving the enhancement and efficiency of nursing care in various areas, when
electronic documentation is properly taught and utilized. Likewise, there is evidence supporting the
reliability of the documentation, after comparing nurses verbal accounts of previously recorded
information. When the programs used in electronic documentation are continually evaluated for
completeness, accuracy, and quality, they become excellent tools for legislation. Electronic medical
records present many advantages to the nursing care of a vast majority of patients, and also help
uphold satisfactory legal and ethical implications of nursing documentation. Body (Review of
Literature) Bruylands, Paans, Hediger, Müller Staub (2013) provide evidence of electronic health
records improving the nursing process. The purpose of their study was to assess the effectiveness of
electronic nursing documentation, when it was and was not coupled with an instructive program. The
experiment sampled electronic nursing documentation over time, and ranked the groups in terms of
accurateness of the nursing process. It was shown that groups who were provided with continual
education had a substantially higher accuracy, when it came to using the nursing process. While all

This case study is discussed from Paperco, Inc. point of view of whether they should avail the tax
benefits and cost savings in replacing the mechanical drying equipment.
Recommendation
Based on the analysis below in this memo, Paperco should purchase new mechanical drying
equipment now in advance in anticipation of the passage of new tax legislation. Purchasing the
equipment now maintains a positive Net Present Value for the capital project if the legislation is not
enacted, or if the new legislation is enacted and the capital project is contracted early enough so that it

Paperco would retain all tax credits due to the fact the machine has been in service for 84 months, and
use a 5 year ACRS depreciation model for the new equipment. This option has a positive NPV of

Option II in which the new tax proposal is enacted. The new equipment is installed in December 1986.
Paperco signs a binding contract soon enough to be grandfathered , this allows Paperco to receive the
8% tax credit and use ACRS depreciation. At the same time, their tax rate would fall to 34%. Paperco
would benefit from this more favorable grandfathered tax approach. Option II has a positive NPV of
$3,414,104.
Option III in which the new tax proposal is enacted and Paperco installs the new equipment in
December 1986, but they do not sign a binding contract in time to be grandfathered and receive the
8% investment tax credit and use ACRS depreciation. The company will use MACRS and a
depreciation period of 7 years. The NPV of the project with this timing and structure is $3,228,044.
Without the grandfathered tax allowance, the new tax legislation makes the project unattractive based
on lower Net Present Value.

Methods Of Learning Algorithms For Groups Based On Their...
2.1.3 CLUSTERING: Among the available clustering methods, K Means algorithm is generally used
to divide learners into natural groups based on their behavior for a larger dataset. In the K Means
clustering method, the number of clusters, denoted by K is needed to be predefined to apply the
technique. This is one of the simplest and the most used unsupervised learning algorithm for
clustering. The procedure follows a simple and easy way to classify a given data set through a certain
number of clusters (assume k clusters) fixed a priori. The main idea is to define k centers, one for each
cluster. These centers should be placed in a cunning way because of different location causes different
result. So, the better choice is to place them as much as possible far away from each other. The next
step is to take each point belonging to a given data set and associate it to the nearest center. When no
point is pending, the first step is completed and an early group age is done. At this point we need to re
calculate k new centroids as barycenter of the clusters resulting from the previous step. After we have
these k new centroids, a new binding has to be done between the same data set points and the nearest
new center. A loop has been generated. As a result of this loop we may notice that the k centers change
their location step by step until no more changes are done or in other words centers do not move any
more. Finally, this algorithm aims at minimizing

The Novel The Green Mile
King s novel The Green Mile, was a depiction of horror and imagery, or as Harold Bloom stated,
visually oriented scenarios. He teased the senses and gave an inevitable emotional twist at the end.
This story follows a special inmate possessed some unworldly powers that changed people s fate,
when he deemed worthy. John Coffey, last name like the drink, only not spelled the same way, (King
16) plays the hand of God in this story, when he saved a life, cured the incurable, punished the guilty,
and changed the life of Paul Edgecomb inevitably. The arrival of John Coffey in fall of 1932 was a
hot, normal day in the E Block cells (King 5). The guards saw this man as not much of a talker, but he
often cried himself to sleep. He was sentenced there for the rape and murder of two little girls; a crime
he did not commit. John Coffey was a large black man in both height and mass, but there was an
oddity sensed about this man. Paul Edgecomb had been acquainted with many inmates over his years,
but this is the first one he offered his hand to (King 19). Even now I don t know why, he stated (King
19). Coffey, a simple man, who talked very little, touched the guards hearts very quickly in his stay.
From the start, it seemed Coffey knew he was going to be killed for the crime he did not commit. [He
was] doomed and [maybe] even perhaps eager to die and put all of the pain and misery behind him (D
Ammassa). He had a hand for healing, even though this man knew that life was

Allison Millic A Short Story
Its bizarre how one situation from your past can affect your future and every decision you make for
the rest of your life (Millican). Allison Millican, a strong young lady, has been through many major
life changing events growing up. No child would ever think of nor wish upon him/herself the series of
events she has been through. These events affected her state of mind plus the choices she made for
every important situation, for the rest of her life. This childhood trauma led to depression as well as
anxiety, however, it all started the day her parents finalized their divorce. As a very young child,
Allison lived in a strict, conservative home with morals and a firm belief that once married, always
married; divorce is simply giving up and not giving your all. She lived in a home that went to church
every sunday,in addition stayed to themselves about personal conflicts like any conservative family
would ordinarily do. As time went on those morals started to fade. What was once a happy marriage
turned into an emotional, high strung marriage. Allison, being so young, didn t remember much of
what happened, nevertheless she knew that matters were changing. Ironically, the conservative family
with morals divided, leading to the start of a brand new life Allison could never be prepared for.
After the divorce, Allison s living situation went back and forth like a game of tug of war. One week
she stayed with her father then the next she was with her mother. As one can imagine, it was very hard

then the rebound will be one. For example, an 8 by 4 has one rebound. If the dimensions have a two in
it, then the other number is the number of rebounds that you have. For example, If you had a 7 by 2
there would be 7 rebounds. You take the first dimension and add it to the second dimension and
subtract it by 2. This one works for most of them but not all of them. For example, if you had a 9 by 7
then there would be 14 rebounds. The ball never lands in the corner, it was shot from. I looked at all
the pictures that I drew to figure out the formulas and noticed that the corner the ball was hit from,
never ever landed in the corner that it was hit from. Finally, if there are 0 rebounds then the ball will
land in the corner diagonal from the corner it was shot. I figured this out by looking at the rebounds
and pictures that I drew for the 0 rebounds. Those were all of the formulas and patterns that I found.
This is a one by one which has 0

Peeling Back the Layers of being Privileged
The concept of privilege is a fairly easy concept to understand once you peel back all of its layers. But
it is also a concept that is rarely discussed among society. Because society is so focused on how
everyone is one in the same , the conversation of how people are actually different is never discussed.
Understanding that even though we all are human beings; our race, class, sexuality, religion, and many
other things is what makes us all different in some shape or form. Conversations revolved around
institutional discrimination and institutional racism can prevent certain people with privilege from
understanding how marginalized groups are being oppressed by certain systems. For some reason,
privileged people, particularly white privileged people, assume that all experiences are universal when
we all know they aren t. Assuming that all experiences are universal erases the lived experiences of
marginalized people. Not only is there privilege related to skin color, but there is also privilege in
sexuality as well. Heterosexual men and women have privilege as well. There have been well
documented cases of institutional discrimination against those in the LGBTQIA community. While
white privilege and heteronormativity privilege are forms of privilege, there are also other forms of
privileges as well. But of course, there are some heterosexual men and women that don t believe that
they have problem. Sadly, they do, but they fail to recognize even the smallest things that form

June 14, 2015 Abstract
The Haiti earthquake and health care Health care can bring people together when there is equal access,
or divide people when there is not. On January 12, 2010, Haiti was hit by an magnitude 7.0
earthquake. More than half a million people dies or was injured, and approximately 2 million people
were displayed from their homes. Overcrowded and poor living conditions increased Haitians risk for
communicable diseases. The earthquake destroyed most government buildings, schools, homes,
hospitals, and transportation and communication infrastructure in the western part of the country,
including the capital Port au Prince and much of the southeastern part of the country. This earthquake
that struck Haiti caused an estimated 222,570 deaths and 300,000 injuries. In impoverished countries,
like Haiti analyzing the causes of deaths and injuries post disaster can help countries better prepare for
disasters in the future. In the wake of the earthquake the International Federation of Red Cross and
Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) mobilized the biggest single country emergency mounted.
Deployments included field hospitals, one of which was a specially designed rapid response mobile
and light hospital with 30 expatriate staff. This was set up in Port au Prince at the main

Israel Is Considering For Their Easy Sailing Economy
Israel, also known as the Holy Land. Most people only recognize Israel for the history of the City and
for becoming allies with America. What most people do not know is the impact of foreigners in their

In the past 20 years Israel has had an increase in annual exports raise about $20 million and $1.2
million over the past four years. Nearly 2.8% of the country s GDP is derived from agriculture. Of a
total labor force of 2.7 million, 2.6% are employed in agricultural production while 6.3% in services
for agriculture
One of the top industries that impact Israel s economy the most is the tourists. Tourists come from all

and many more. In the years of 2000 Israel was topped as one of the top 3 most visited cities. They
opened their doors to over 3 million travelers a year. Travelers enhanced the foreign currency earnings
of $2.8 billion in 2006, i.e. 5 percent of the income from all exports and 16.8 percent of the export of
services, With the impact of the visitors it provides 80,000 more jobs and adds nearly 85% to the

Despite economic prosperity, the Israeli economy faces many challenges, some are short term and
some are long term challenges. On the short term its inability to duplicate its success in the
telecommunication industry into other growing industries hampers its economic outlooks. Its inability
to foster large multinational companies in the last decade also calls into question its ability

Analysis of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S....
Literature is considered a mirror of the society. The pool of content in literary writing stems from the
environment in which the writer is placed. A writer will use this environment to advance his/her views
of the society and at the same time drive into the audience/readers important information that he/she
wishes to pass. Hunter S. Thompson has used his creativity in the novel Fear and Loathing in Las
Vegas written in the 1960s to reflect on American society with Las Vegas as the point of reference.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas describes the American society as hypocritical. This transcends from
the leaders to citizens. The Duke and Gonzo attend a conference on Narcotics and dangerous drugs.
The theme of the conference is slated as an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the dream is a dying one which has not materialized because of the society s greed,
selfishness and corruption as depicted in Fear and Loathing in Vegas by Thomson. Drug business,
prostitution and gambling have replaced legal businesses in Las Vegas. Law forces have been tangled
up in this game as they watch this acts being committed for a few pennies from the dealers. The
picture of a crowd of Las Vegas residence in a casino at early hours of the morning gives more
dimensions to the American dream. Emerging from a casino having won seems to epitomize what the
society feels about the American dream
Consumerism has been embraced in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. This is well brought out by the
two protagonists in the novel. The lifestyle of the Duke and his attorney on the journey to Las Vegas is
characterized by heavy spending on drugs, accommodation, transportation and gambling. The writer
says they had bought two bags of grass, seventy five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered
blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi colored uppers, downers,
screamers, laughers and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether
and two dozen amyls. This were hefty expenses which the writer goes ahead to acknowledge that they
did not actually need bur for the fun of it.
Lastly, Fear and Loathing Las Vegas reveals racist nature of the American military and the decay

Separation Of Powers Dbq
The U.S constitution guards against tyranny through the separations of powers. This claim is true
because the constitution was made in order to avert another tyrannical form of government from ever
taking place again through the allocation of governmental powers. An example of the division of
powers is seen in the Federalist #51 as the document states, ... the power surrendered by the people is
first divided between two distinct governments, the portion allotted to each subdivided among distinct
and separate departments (Doc. A). These direct words from the Federalist #51 basically state that the
power of the government which is given by the people is divided into national and state powers and
then furthermore divided into smaller sub powers.

Nestle Swot
Introduction: Nestlé s lineage dates back to 1867 when Henri Nestle founded the company Ste Henri
Nestle and was responsible for producing infant food composed of milk, grain, and carbohydrates.
Before Nestle even knew it, the company grew substantially and was required to build plants in each
major market it was located in, so that to ensure efficient production and distribution. This way the
company could gain sustainability within its home market, as well as in its European based markets.
The gain in Nestlé s rapid popularity was mainly accounted towards large numbers of doctors all over
Europe highly recommending the company s product for malnourished infants. Subsequently, Nestle
also engaged in mergers, geographical expansions, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With Nestle being recognized worldwide, providing a wide variety of products ultimately results in
greater flexibility and leverage for organizational decisions. In addition, existing products are prone to
become stronger and gain greater value through innovations and R amp;D. The stronger Nestlé s
brands are the more value they can create, not only for their consumers, but also for their shareholders.
Weaknesses:
* Standardization of products since standardized products and images are not sensitive to cultural
differences, misfortunes accruing to global brands such as Nestle can reverberate across entire product
ranges and tarnish corporate reputations either on a region wide or worldwide scale. Therefore it is
crucial for management to carefully analyze the cultural context in which it is operating. * Weak brand
image in U.S. a strong controversy over Nestlé s aggressive marketing efforts to 3rd World mothers
resulted in a much publicized boycott in the U.S. that still persists today within the diverse American
culture. Another issue that adds to a weaker brand image majorly by the U.S. is that concerning the
chocolate bar Kit Kat. Even though Kit Kat is produced worldwide by Nestle, it is not the case in the
U.S. where Hershey Inc. has acquired the license to produce the candy bar.

Polynesian People
Polynesian people, as a collective race, are highly varied and have many distinctive ethnic groups
across numerous island nations. All of these groups have an individual culture and language system
with many regional dialects among them, although segments of some of them transfer from one group
to another through cultural sharing among mingling peoples, so there are some similarities among
groups that historically descended from or interacted with one another.
Non Polynesians, sometimes called palagi, which is a Samoan word that has been colloquially adopted
into many Polynesian languages as well as the subsets of English regional to various Polynesian
homelands, often mistakenly aggregate these varied groups into a single, homogenous culture ... Show

If introduction to unfamiliar diseases and the loss of land and other valuable resources were not
damaging enough, many settlers actively harassed the Maori tribespeople, often mistaking an innocent

While the heart of the show is centered on the life and times of Irving Berlin, impoverished Russian immigrant turned songwriter, it also addresses various political and social issues such as anti Semitism, anti patriotism, racism, poverty, and classism issues this nation still struggles with today. Along with its copious amounts of social and political commentary, this biographical docudrama also uses its backdrop to explore significant events in world history (the Russian Pogrom, World War I and II, the Cold War, the birth of American rock and roll, and the assassination of JFK, to name a few) through the lens of Berlin. ... • 4. A Study Of Human Migration And Settlements- Encompassing... he Austronesian peoples have been a source of much anthropological study, attracting the intrigue of Captain James Cook in his expeditions. The Austronesian language family is spoken by around 385 million people speaking 1200 languages, stretching from Madagascar to Rapanui making it the fifth most spoken language family in the world (Brown, 2009). Many believe that Polynesians are descendants of Austronesians, however the origins and spread of the Austronesians are hotly debated. Several lines of study have been utilised to elucidate the mysteries behind this perfect case study of human migration and settlements encompassing climate change, conflict, inter marriage, trade, and crucially, technological advancements. Some assume the ultimate origin of pre Austronesians to be in China, with a study by Min Shan Ko et al. (2014) proposing that the pre Austronesians migrated south from northern China after foxtail millet domestication; continuing south after domestication of rice in the Yangtze valley; embarking the Yellow Sea near Fuzhou and arriving in northern Taiwan around 6 KYA based on archaeological evidence (Bellwood, 1978). Some argue that the Austronesian language family developed here of the 10 groups of the family, 9 are found only in Taiwan. The sizeable extra Taiwanese Austronesian populations belong to the remaining group (Blust, 1999). This may indicate Taiwan as the Urheimat , or linguistic home of the language family and arguably its people following the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Delisting the Grey Wolf Essay Delisting the Grey Wolf The United States Fish and Wildlife Service are considering removing the gray wolf from the endangered species list once Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming have enough wolves to be deemed sufficient to continue to expand the wolf population, requiring only that each of these three states have a management plan in effect to prevent the gray wolf from becoming endangered again. With the current attitude of the governments in these states, the wolf should not lose their federal support under the Endangered Species Act as it would merely serve to cause the wolves to become endangered once again, or at best, held to the absolute minimum population that the states can pass off as viable, self sustaining populations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The state legislature has favored the ranching industry above ecology and continues to do so. Public polls conducted by Boise State indicate that the overwhelming majority of Idahoans (nearly 70 percent) support wolf restoration (Laverty, par. 4) and the legislature is seeking to remedy this by re educating the public with a balanced view of the impact of wolves on big game species, those sectors of the economy dependent upon sport hunting, livestock, domestic animals, and humans (State, 3). Furthermore, the cost of wolf reintroduction will be presented as a part of any public education program including direct and indirect costs (State, 3). This so called balanced view was presented in a program in which the most misrepresented issues concerned the economic impact of wolves. Ranchers were allowed to claim unsubstantiated losses, with no attempt to validate the accuracy of these claims (Laverty, par. 2). In granting the balanced view sought by the legislature, the program portrayed the salt of the earth rancher as a poor victim of the federal government s whim to restore the killers (Laverty, par. 2). • 7. Rape Culture Analysis Rape culture is the environment in which rape is common and sexual violence against women is normalized by the media. Rape culture is promoted with the use of misogynistic language, the objectification of women s bodies, and the glamorization of sexual violence, which creates a society that ignores the rights and safety of women. In 2013, Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams released the summer hit Blurred Lines, which became known as a rape song. Blurred Lines is the perfect example of how rape culture is used by the media while using misogynistic language, objectification of women s bodies, and glamorization of sexual violence. Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams Blurred Lines uses misogynistic lyrics that promotes rape culture. The first use of misogynistic language is in the bridge of the song when Thicke sings Tried to domesticate you, But you re an animal. Thicke is obviously comparing a girl to an animal in this lyric, but he also mentions that someone tried to domesticate her, which means that they trained to tame which implies he owns her. The ownership of a woman is a misogynistic way of thinking because people cannot own other people. Then in the hook of the song Thicke calls the girl a Good girl, which is very condescending because it sounds like he is speaking down to her. This suggest that he is superior to her and is asserting his male dominance. In the second verse of the song Thicke sings You the hottest bitch in this place, which is a ... Australia s Identity plays an important part in the stereotypes identified in the film Beneath Clouds, (2002) directed by Ivan Sen presented through violence, racism and a less than adequate education. Through Drover s Wife (1892) written by Henry Lawson characters are depicted through one mother s hardships and the way she raises her family in the absence of her husband. Both Beneath Clouds and Drover s Wife explore Australian identity and what makes it, along with the integral part of any culture in a diverse way. Ivan Sen illustrates racism towards the indigenous community previously stereotyped in Australia s identity. The way Vaughn is poorly treated is most evident in the film and through the use of different techniques. As an intimidating young Aboriginal male, Vaughn s appearance depicts the character he is and the way different individuals categorise him. Racism is highly elaborated throughout the film through the contrast between Vaughn as a dark skinned youth and Lena a half cast, lighter in skin female explored through racial stereotypes in rural Australia. As scene in the film, Vaughn and Lena are hitchhiking towards the city, a white older lady drives straight past Vaughn, whereas she stops and offers Lena a lift. Are you right love. The cost of this is considerably lower than the purchase of a new vehicle and it is still as effective. In researching the data, I discovered that the use of biodiesel is an alternative fuel source as well. This fuel, a 20/80 mixture, does not require any type of retrofitting of the engine. To this point Jesus has referred to general signs that would characterize the period preceding Israel s collapse. Here in v. 15, though, he refers to one sign that unmistakably signals that the prophesied destruction is at hand. It would serve to alert the people of that generation as to the proximity of Jerusalem s ruin. In response to the question, When will these things be? Jesus now answers When you see . . . (v. 15). Illness We tend to think of every medically treatable condition as an illness, and every illness as a medically treatable condition; and that is just not the case. There are many physical factors that have a detrimental affect on our health: disease, infection, genetics, diet, injury, exhaustion, accidents, poison, warfare, pollution, heredity, birth defects, and more. All of these can be considered the cause of an unhealthy condition; but none of them are an illness. It refers to the intentional putting to death of a person with an incurable or painful disease intended as an act of mercy (Newhealthguide.org, 2016). Euthanasia is closely related to doctor assisted suicide. However, the two acts differ in that, euthanasia means injecting a terminally sick patient with lethal dose of a drug or withdrawing feeding tubes to let the patient die of starvation. Assisted suicide on the other hand refers to the process where a physician avails a lethal drug to the patient. The patient or his/her next of kin usually must consent to the action. A Universal Message in Mountains Beyond Mountains Essay A Universal Message in Mountains Beyond Mountains The suffering and misery of the poor and destitute has long been reported on and documented by writers all over the world. The circumstances and stories of the less fortunate are accounted by authors who sometimes distance themselves from the people they write about. However, Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder focuses on the work of Dr. Paul Farmer, a man who works tirelessly to comfort the sick and dying in the poorest countries in the world. Instead of being a simple biography about a wonderful man, Kidder weaves his own message of human rights into the book. The suffering of a poor man in America is not the same as a poor man in Haiti. A man in America has more access to hospitals, shelters, and basic needs than a man in Haiti. Kidder s main message lies in this principle. While progress has been made in medical technology in powerful countries, moral progress has not developed at the same rate. A man who would agree with Kidder s message of the universal right of health care is Mahatmas Gandhi. In his speech Economic and Moral Progress Gandhi says that many people mistake economic progress for moral progress. He points out those countries have become more industrial as well as technologically advanced but this upgrade has been at the expense of their obligations to their morality. He cites an example he is very familiar with the cruel oppression of the British Empire over India. The people were rationed to one meal a day, No one has ever suggested that grinding pauperism can lead to anything else than moral degradation. Every human being has a right to live and therefore to find the wherewithal to feed himself and where necessary to clothe himself (334). The Benefits Of Electronic Medical Records Introduction The benefits of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) significantly outweigh the disadvantages, when it comes to the nursing care of patients in multiple settings. There have been multiple studies proving the enhancement and efficiency of nursing care in various areas, when electronic documentation is properly taught and utilized. Likewise, there is evidence supporting the reliability of the documentation, after comparing nurses verbal accounts of previously recorded information. • 37. Methods Of Learning Algorithms For Groups Based On Their... 2.1.3 CLUSTERING: Among the available clustering methods, K Means algorithm is generally used to divide learners into natural groups based on their behavior for a larger dataset. In the K Means clustering method, the number of clusters, denoted by K is needed to be predefined to apply the technique. This is one of the simplest and the most used unsupervised learning algorithm for clustering. The procedure follows a simple and easy way to classify a given data set through a certain number of clusters (assume k clusters) fixed a priori. The main idea is to define k centers, one for each cluster. These centers should be placed in a cunning way because of different location causes different result. So, the better choice is to place them as much as possible far away from each other. The next step is to take each point belonging to a given data set and associate it to the nearest center. When no point is pending, the first step is completed and an early group age is done. At this point we need to re calculate k new centroids as barycenter of the clusters resulting from the previous step. After we have these k new centroids, a new binding has to be done between the same data set points and the nearest new center. A loop has been generated. As a result of this loop we may notice that the k centers change their location step by step until no more changes are done or in other words centers do not move any more. Finally, this algorithm aims at minimizing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I know that this works because if you do a 6 by 6 you would get 0 rebounds. A number and one are always the number subtracted by one. If you do a 4 by 1 you would get 3 rebounds. If the dimensions can be reduced to ½ then the rebound will be one. For example, an 8 by 4 has one rebound. If the dimensions have a two in it, then the other number is the number of rebounds that you have. For example, If you had a 7 by 2 there would be 7 rebounds. You take the first dimension and add it to the second dimension and subtract it by 2. This one works for most of them but not all of them.
