Pierre Trudeau s Accomplishments
The past is to be respected and acknowledged but not to be worshipped. It is our future in which we
find our greatness. These words were written by Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau, who paved the
way for the great Canadian future present today. Pierre Elliott Trudeau was an indispensable leader
who guided Canada to greatness, he brought biculturalism and bilingualism to Canada, believed in
equality and protecting human rights. Pierre Elliott Trudeau s accomplishments paved the way for a
greater Canadian future because he became the leader Canada needed for protecting human rights,
evolving Canada s language and by giving Canada the confidence it needed to succeed. ... Show more

Trudeau fought for Canada to be a country of many languages and cultures, he did this by introducing
The Official Languages Act. In 1969 Trudeau established The Official Languages Act, this made
English and French the official languages of Canada. It required all federal institutions to provide
services in English and French. The Act was passed on the recommendation of the Royal Commission
on Bilingualism and Biculturalism on 7 September 1969. The act was to ensure respect and equality of
all rights and privileges as to their use in all federal institutions. The act supported the development of
English and French linguistic minority communities and advanced the equality of English and French
languages within Canada s society. Trudeau truly lead Canada to success and wanted the nation to
become more diverse. Trudeau noted, Bilingualism means you can speak to the other; duality means
you live in one language and the rest of Canada will live in another language. Trudeau strongly pushed
for Canada to be Bilingual and thought it would make Canada stronger as a country. Trudeau felt that
Quebec had to be less isolated and that it would allow French Canadians to maintain their culture
while playing part in a key role in Canada. It was because of Pierre Elliott Trudeau that Canada kept
peace amongst everyone and continued to be a united country. Trudeau made Canada better by

Horrific Affect of Pestcides in A Fable for Tomorrow from...
Everyday people all over the world try to improve the qualities of their lives. Nonetheless, they forget
that what they do can have severe harms and damages on the environment and other organisms. In the
excerpt A Fable for Tomorrow from the book Silent Spring, Rachel Carson describes the disastrous
and horrific effects of pesticides on the environment and animals of the town. In the essay Our Animal
Rites by Anna Quindlen, she shows the inhumanity of animal hunting by human. Furthermore, she
argues how human migration is destroying the natural habitats that belong to the animals. In the
excerpt Reading the River from the autobiographical book Life on Mississippi, Mark Twain describes
how he loses the ability to perceive the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This suggests that the roadsides was once beautiful and bloomed with healthy and lively vegetation;
however, they are now destroyed due to the use of pesticides. From these examples, it can be shown
that even though pesticide is beneficial, its deadly effects outweigh its benefits; in addition, it is a
dangerous substances to the environment, organisms, and even human. Animal hunting is not only
inhumane but can also lead to the extinction of many species. In the essay Our Animal Rites ,
Quindlen asserts that it is pathetic to consider the firepower the hunters use in order to bring down one
fair sized deer (33). In this quote, she explains that the use of firepower by human to kill innocent
animals is unfair and heartrending. Furthermore, Quindlen describes that even though the bears are
killed by the smiling and triumphant hunters after the three bear days in the autumn, the bears look
more dignified than they do (33). This suggests that hunting animals is not entertaining but rather
unacceptable and disgraceful. Furthermore, many species can become extinct due to excessive
hunting. In an ecology class, I learned that the extinction rate of species each year is approximately
two hundred to two thousand each year. This is an extremely high and alerting rate since there is only
around two million species that has been scientifically identified on the planet. In these examples, it
can be concluded that the hunting of innocent animals is atrocious and

The Importance Of Birth Tourism
Ramirez 1 Ramirez 2 Jocelyn Ramirez Instructor Sharifian GOVT 2305 75427 28 JULY 2017
Assignment Two Every parent has the best intentions when It comes to their family. They will do the
impossible in order to provide their children the best way of life and education they can obtain. Most
people who immigrate into the U.S. have to start their life over from scratch. While others come in
with visas and are able to pay thousands to have a place they can call home throughout their
pregnancy. Those types of families are known for birth tourism, or coming into the U.S. 1 to have
anchor babies. The U.S. is the land of all opportunities and for people who were not born here might
wish that they could have a chance to live the American dream. Which is why the U.S. is popular for
birth tourism to occur in because of the practice of birthright citizenship (Will F. G., 2010 ). The areas
that are most popular with birth tourism are California and New York, California having the most
activity. One of the reasons why California gained popularity was because one of the medical centers
in Chino Hills made national news (Grant, p. 166). Birth tourism is mostly practiced among the
Chinese, Taiwanese and Turkish nationals. However, Chinese has been the most increasing over the
years. One of the many reason why the Chinese increasingly participate in Birth tourism is because, in
China they have a strict one baby rule among families. So, most of them come to the U.S. 2 to give

Global Airline Industry Essay
The airline industry has seen drastic changes since September 11, 2001. The government ordered a
complete shutdown for three days of not only all commercial aircraft but such carriers as domestic
flights and emergency aircraft. For days after September 11th, all aircraft stayed on the ground. Even
military aircraft had to receive special clearance to fly. In a ripple effect, the entire economy of the
United States and the world was put on hold. The New York Stock Exchange shut its doors because of
the attacks on the towers of the World Trade Center.
The airline industry is classified into four categories by the Department of Transportation. The four
categories are International, National, Regional and Cargo. The following are ... Show more content

Because of their cheaper fares, the larger airlines are forced to hold down the cost of their flights in
order to still attract customers. Of course when a smaller regional carrier does not service a destination
that one of the larger carriers does, then any potential cost savings is lost. Another point worth noting
is that several of these regional carriers are subsidiaries of a larger airline. After September 11th,
passenger traffic dropped off severely, causing the airlines to cut flights, layoff workers and park
surplus aircraft (College Grad, n.d.). Conditions are favorable for a turn around in passenger traffic.
With the ever expanding world economy, business travel has become more necessary. One area that is
not expected to grow is the domestic cargo segment in comparison to international cargo flights.
Airlines need to examine the destinations where they fly. If one of the destinations becomes
unpopular, then the airline will need to make adjustments or profits will suffer. A good example would
be back in the late 50 s where one of airlines main destinations would have been Cuba. Some of the
ways costs are figured in the airline industry are as follows: available seat miles, revenue passenger
miles, load factor, and revenue per available seat miles. The available seat miles calculation is the
number of seats available multiplied by the number of miles flown (Wikipedia, 2007). The revenue
passenger miles calculation is the

The Immigration Crisis Of The United States
The immigration crisis
Akash Patel
Economics
3rd Period
One of the biggest crises the United States fracases is illegal immigrant. Even though we know about
the problem we don t do anything that is effective. Because of illegal immigrant people born and
raised in America are losing jobs.
The current immigration crisis in the US is years of mishandling and gone bad. Many of the current
immigrants here were originally here. This mentality has led to a huge increase in numbers of illegal
immigrants. For example, it is believed that the current number of illegal immigrants is around 10 to
20 million if not more. Another problem is that the Obama administration has dropped the number of
cases of deportation. Why isn t Obama dropping the deportation cased. This means tons of money is
spent on border security, but the immigrants who make it through are likely to stay here and use up
resources such as money, in turn increasing the national deficit more than needs to be done. Another
problem is when it comes to family. Pregnant women come to the US and have children. This leads
their kids to be legal citizens of the United States. In 2010 about 4 million United States born children
had one parent who was here illegally. By now there are probably more than 5 million.
Many US citizens either frown upon agricultural work or see it as boring Mexican society, however,
provides Mexicans with an agricultural work ethic and many would

Explain The Three Branches Of Government
The Three Branches of Government There are three branches of government; Legislative Branch,
Executive Branch, and lastly Judicial Branch. In this outline I am going to talk about the structures,
elections and functions and responsibilities of each branch. Each branch is important and does
different things to help make the government run smoothly. Legislative Branch (Congress) Legislative
means to have the power to make laws. That s this branches job, to make laws for the United States.
This legislative branch contains congress; under congress are the House of Representatives and the
senate. The Congress s job is to make legislation happen, declare wars, confirm or reject presidential
appointments, and substantial investigative powers. There are four hundred and thirty five people that

Song Analysis Of The Secret Life Of Bees
The Secret Life of Bees, takes place during the Civil Rights Movement in South Carolina. Lily Owens
is a 14 year old girl who carries the senseless burden of killing her mother. She destroys herself
believing that she killed her mother and can t come to peace with the accident she caused that caused
her mother to die. Later in the book she comes to find out that her mother abandoned T. Ray and her.
She is now at a different conundrum and believes her mother should be hoping she ll forgive her
instead of her mother forgiving her. She learns form the Boatrights that she needs to come to piece
with her mothers decisions and for the death of her mother. She notices how Mary comes to piece
when she sings, Oh! Susanna , and helps her realize we all have our own trials and hardships but we
also have our own way of coming to peace with our actions. Josh Garrels sings the song, Farther
Along , and to me this is a song of joy. The song does have a somber tone to the song. I wondered why
the good man dies, the bad man thrives and Jesus cries because he loves em both . This phrase tells me
how much Jesus loves us. He is not only crying because a good man died, or because one of his
children has fallen far off track, but he is crying for them both. He loves them both. There s much
more to life than we ve been told it s full of beauty that will unfold . Life is full of ugliness and
hardships. This proclaims that there is more than all of that and we will all one day see this beauty

Internal And External Conflict In The Story Blue Winds...
The comparison of internal and external conflicts and the effect on the lives of the protagonists
Internal and external conflicts often affect a person s life as well as their families lives. Additionally, it
may lead a man to experience an epiphany about his own life. The story Blue Winds Dancing
demonstrates the internal and external struggles experienced by the native as he transitions into white
society. The native is an outcast and has a longing to return to his native reserve. In comparison, Angel
Levine describes the life of a Jewish man named Manischevitz who lost everything: his children, his
business, and his eventually his wife because of her illness. He reaches out to God, but there is no

children and his establishment because it catches fire and then burn[s] to the ground (Malamud). He
now must support the family financially and take care of his ill wife, Fanny. Another large external
issue that Manischevitz faces is the ability to trust the black angel. He thinks [he] is a faker because
God would not send a black angel. However, God sent him this black angel as a test of his faith and
after he wavers, he returns to God. Throughout these tests of faith, he experiences an epiphany,
understanding that there are Jews everywhere (Malamud). Similarly, the native also has an external
conflict; he cannot get home after he realizes that he does not want to acculturate into the white
society. He tries to return home by dangerously hitchhiking onto the Santa Fe train. When he finally
leaps onto the cattle car, the native feels peaceful and content at last because he is going home
(Whitecloud). However, once the native finally arrives home, he faces an additional conflict; will his
family accept him. He is shivering for the dawn because he is simultaneously nervous and excited on
his journey home (Whitecloud). The story concludes with his family welcoming him back into the
native world.

Electric Cars Vs Electric Cars
Throughout modern times we have seen and witnessed many advancements of technologies. One of
the major advancements in environmental friendly technology we have seen include electric vehicles.
Electric vehicles have brought us about many advantages, but there are reasons why electric vehicles
should cost more than conventional gasoline cars.
Electric car sales have raised to 2 million dollars in 2016 after being almost non existent in 2010. EV s
run on electricity, compared to conventional vehicles that use a gas or diesel powered engine. These
cars average around $1.14 per eGallon, compared to $3.65 a gallon for gas. Nevertheless they have a
major obstacle when it comes to entering and doing well in today s market due to the high price.
Electric cars use different parts that cost more to produce, therefore the parts used to make the electric
cars cause the price for the car to rise. Considering the cost for producing electric cars is so expensive,
companies need to charge a high price in order to make a profit. This proves that the price for electric
cars should be more expensive than gasoline powered vehicles because of the battery price, it s a new
market and the technological opportunities.
To create a battery that makes an electric car run there are many different components that need to be
taken into consideration. The cost for electric car battery by itself takes up about 25% 50% of the
electric vehicle price. The main component that contribute to the majority price

Compare and Contrast the Economic Policies of Stalin and Mao.
Compare and contrast the economic policies of Stalin and Mao.
In Russia and China, both Stalin and Mao emerged as almost god like leaders despite making their
respective countries endure harsh programs of reform all economically, politically and socially. Mao
can be seen to have adopted the policies of Stalin, both inspired by the Marxist ideologies of Lenin.
Both Stalin and Mao recognized the economic backwardness of their respective countries and wanted
to use industrialization and collectivisation as the primary means of increasing their economies.
Although the original plans were very similar, the actual undertaking of the plans in addition to the
results and how it helped consolidate both leaders may slightly vary. Comparing and ... Show more

Farmers had to grow crops but also had to work to produce steel and iron in addition to infrastructure
projects. This policy led to deaths of millions of Chinese peasants and what came to be known as the
biggest famine in history. This was a huge failure for Mao, and threw off his position as leader.
Viewing both the leaders policies, solely on the basis of economic success, it can be said that Stalin s
policies were somewhat successful as Stalin took a backward country and turned it into a massive
urban working class with most of the country being electrified, which was not available before. In
addition, the policy of collectivisation fulfilled its goals as peasants were now paid wages and land
and machinery was collectively owned. Looking at the human cost of the policies, both
industrialization and collectivisation were hard on the population, creating poor working conditions
and famines throughout the nation. Stalin had also maintained his power throughout all of his
economic policies, unlike Mao who after the Great Leap Forward had to re establish himself through
the Cultural Revolutions. Despite Mao s fall, his economic policies were also to some extent,
successful as more than half of China became irrigated and the railway network virtually doubled. In
addition, Mao s reforms motivated the common people to work together and embody a Communist
worker, whereas Stalin s reforms produced Stakhovanites .

Throughout history, many pieces of literature such as novels and poems have been translated from a
variety of languages in order to show the stories to different cultures. Although the translations are
quite accurate, many times the diction is changed based on the way the translator personally interprets
the story as well as the message he or she wants to portray to their target audience in favour of their
own culture (Sabouri and Karimzadeh, 123). An example of this is The Arabian Nights where the
authors of the stories are unknown and were all translated from Arabic to many languages including

Moreover, in The Three Apples, a man kills his wife due to his suspicion that his wife cheated on him.
The slave who is just a stranger, that the husband believes the wife cheated on him with, remains safe

husbands and their society since even her own father is on her husband s side. After the woman is
killed, the father realizes it was a mistake but still protects the husband. Furthermore, in The Tale of

decides to brutally beat his wife in order to stop her from asking him questions. She could not stand up
for herself, eventually she even decided that it was her fault and mistake not to listen to the husband.
Additionally, in The Three Apples, the woman is murdered by her husband at the end of the story, only
because he believed that she cheated on him and thought she was unfaithful. Not only was the woman
defenceless against the man but she did not even try to defend herself. This is how the West saw the

Dubai Aviation And International Airport
Introduction
Since the building of Dubai s first airport in 1959, Dubai s aviation industry has grown into one of the
world s largest logistical hubs. With the addition of a $32 billion facility, The Al Maktoum
International Airport, Dubai s aviation industry has had local, regional, and global impact, positioning
Dubai as a world hub in the Middle East for tourism, trade, and commerce (Greenway, 2013, p 33).
This essay will explore the aviation model in Dubai from the creation of its first airport in 1959, to the
planned opening of The Al Maktoum International Airport to passenger travel in 2015.
Topics of this paper will include how Dubai s aviation model has impacted the economies of both
regional and international communities, and how the current infrastructure of Dubai s logistics
industry will affect the growth within the Dubai aviation model. Citing recent studies, this paper will
explore how the Dubai aviation sector has contributed to its own region s growth while threatening the
status of past international aviation hubs such as Britain s Heathrow airport. The ambition of Dubai s
ruling government will be discussed as a major factor in the growth of Dubai s aviation model.
Specifically, how Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Maktoum s ambition and vision has helped establish the
emirate as an award winning logistics hub (Greenway, 2013, p 33). In spite of recent crisis in global
economies, Dubai s aviation sector has largely been responsible for restoring economic and

Short tolerates people with a negative attitude. (8) According to Short and Jolivette carrying a negative
attitude can lead to one thing a bad life. Both of them once told me, Attitude is everything. When you
get out of bed in the morning you decided if it s going to be a good day or a bad day. Make sure you
pick the positive attitude everyday and you will go far. I truly believe that quote and will always

Southwest Airlines Business Operations
Southwest Airlines Business Operations
Southwest Airlines continues growth during challenging times with no its low price, no frills and good
customer satisfaction, setting themselves apart from the competition. Organizational change is part of
the culture that successfully allows Southwest Airlines to set itself apart. The airline industry is subject
to external forces such as fuel prices, labor costs, passenger economic status, and public perception.
Southwest Airlines has developed a successful business model based on standardization and efficiency
that has allowed them to keep operating costs low and as predictable as possible.
There is still a certain segment of the public that needs, or has a desire, to fly as their mode of ... Show

I stayed onboard since I was taking it through, the Flight Attendants followed the last passengers to
get off by going through the plane picking up trash and cleaning seatback pouches. This little bit of
work on their part save time from having special cleaning crews come onboard to do this, and the
wage cost associated with them. From the time that the last passenger was off, and the pre boarding
started, was 10 minutes.
Standardized seating
Southwest Airlines has had success with offering the same type of seat to everyone. There is no class
distinction onboard. Every passenger has the same type of seat so there is no doubt as to what they
getting every time they board a Southwest flight. Our open seating has served us exceptionally well
throughout our 36 year history, and, after much research, deliberation, careful evaluation, and
significant feedback from our employees and customers, we ve decided that it is here to stay, said
Gary Kelly, Southwest Airlines Chief Executive Officer (Huffman, 2007). Southwest Airlines feels
that the negative of not having an assigned seat as with other airlines is offset by the desire for a lower
ticket price.
Boarding process
The boarding process with Southwest Airlines is both unique to the airline industry and an efficient
process. Passengers are assigned to a boarding group of A through D, and a number based on when
they checked in. The check in may be done online up to 24 hours prior to the departure time, or

Public Transportation In The Kitchener-Waterloo Region
Public transportation has come to be something that many people of all backgrounds, ages, and
statuses rely on. Without public transportation, it would be very hard for many to get around,
especially students. It really is hard to imagine a world without public transportation, however, there
once was a time.
Before 1886, there was no public transportation in the Kitchener Waterloo region, then known as the
Berlin Waterloo region, before Berlin was renamed to Kitchener. Without your own means of
transportation, likely a horse drawn vehicle, you would have to travel by foot, meaning you probably
could not travel too far. However, when horse drawn streetcars were brought to the region, this all
changed for the residents.
The Berlin and Waterloo Street Railway Company was established in 1886 and finally opened its
railway in 1888. The original line ran along King Street to Cedar Street (now known as Bridgeport
Road) and also branched out to the Grand Trunk Railway Station. The line spanned about 4km and
had a half hour service. There were eight cars and 17 horses, as well as three covered sleighs for bad
winter weather, meaning the service was year round. This streetcar service greatly improved the lives
of many living in the city, as it was an easier and less expensive way to get around (footnote).

This led to the abandonment of streetcars and the reduction of lines in the city, going down to only
11km of coverage by 1942. Unfortunately, this was the beginning of the end of the streetcars in the
Kitchener Waterloo region. On December 27, 1946, a severe winter storm hit the area causing
extensive damage to both the lines and rails. Ironically enough, the railway had been scheduled to
close just four days later on December 31, so the costs to repair were not justifiable, and trolleys went
into service not long after to replace the streetcars, along with the introduction of the bus lines a few

Analysis Of The Crutaltery And The Lottery
Stoning or Hanging?
...sign myself to lies, because I am not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang... (Miller 105). The
Crucible is a play written by Arthur Miller that tells the history about innocent people being hanged,
because of this group of girls who lied that they ve seen the devil with some of the other people in the
village and the court took their word over anyone else s. The short story The Lottery is written by
Shirley Jackson about an annual ceremony of a drawing to see who will get stoned to death and this
tradition has been going on since the very first villagers. The Lottery is more disturbing than The
Crucible because the participants is everyone living in the village, the punishment for The Lottery is
torturous, and the ceremony was annual, since it was a tradition.
The Lottery is more disturbing than The Crucible because the participants is everyone living in the
village. True enough Arthur Miller has his characters somewhat participate in these hangings, but they
participate in a different way. The villagers in The Crucible differ when it comes to their role in the
witch trials. Some believe the girls lies, while others speak out against them, which is actually not a lot
of people during this. On the other hand, The Lottery has only one type of participants in their village,
which are the ones who agree to everything, help and don t speak out against the tradition no matter
how wrong it is. No one looks down on this event, that everyone joins in, even if a parent was chosen
their children would also help stone them as well. Come on, come on, everyone. (Jackson 5). Old Man
Warner says this as they were about to throw stones at Mrs. Hutchinson until she finally died. It isn t
fair, it isn t right, Mrs.Hutchinson screamed, and then they were upon her. (Jackson 5). She didn t want
this to happen, but she did before, because she wanted to participate in it as well. In addition, no one
reacts to the tradition. Everyone seems okay with it and doesn t try and stop or speak out about it.
Bobby Martin had already stuffed his pockets full of stones, and the other boys soon followed his
example, selecting the smoothest and roundest stones... (Jackson 1). The kids are

The First Significant Character In The Handmaid s Tale
The first significant character in the beginning of Gilead, Edward, who is John Ame s older brother
who was ten years older than him, studied abroad by himself at the age of sixteen in Gottingen,
Germany for college and became a remarkable intelligent person with personality and knowledge in
John Ames eyes. As we know, Edward spent his early years in Europe, published a book in German,
and returned back home embracing as an atheist. Yet, this is quite surprising and weird to see how
Edward grew up in a family who is very religious and his father and their family happened to be all
preaching and believing in God as Christians. Still, the book Edward published was a monograph on
Ludwig Feuerbach, who is a German philosopher that supported the

Cultural Construction Of Culture
Karissa Walter Professor Polak
4/17/16 Sociology Our entire world is perceived in the lens of culture and influences our construction
of reality. The social and cultural construction of our reality is built around our social heritage. Some
of the terms I found to be rather interesting were language, cultural shock, social norms, social status,
and social roles in correlation to socialization. Culture is the overall view of shared products between
human society. When we live in a given society we are taught things in ways that other people learn
them in different societies. It is safe to assume that society influences our cultural construction of
reality. The most influential topic in correlation to cultural construction is language. Culture is passed
on my language and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we speak about social norms, we are talking about the standards of behavior we are expected to
conform to as a social group. In certain situations, behavior is dictated by who we are surrounded by.
Much like how we are influence by our cultural construction of reality. Behavior can be influenced by
society and culture in the form of mannerisms or etiquette. Moral standards are also shaped by society
and help differentiate between what is right or wrong. Socialization can be further broken down into
social status and social role. Your social status is dependent on your place in life, including your career
and family positions. For example, being a father and teacher may shape your perspectives on
particular subjects. This can be further broken down into social roles, as people play different roles
through their lives. For example, the teacher whose a father can also be a son, uncle, and a brother.
This makes his position in society more complex. Every person is further shaped by their
environment, socioeconomic class, school, family, mass media, peer group, and possibly

Treacher Collins Syndrome Essay
Clinically, the oral findings were high arched palate in all cases, malocclusion in 6 cases and
macrostomia in 4 cases while multiple impactions of the teeth were detected in four patients (Gataa,
2015, p. 7713). Additionally, only one patient had a cleft palate. From a radiographic perspective, all
patients had zygomatic hypoplasia and seven patients had maxillary sinus hypoplasia. Many patients
also had micrognathia and short ramus of the mandible. As only two patients had family history of
TCS, six patients had TCS due to a new mutation. These results exemplify the notion that TCS
patients are all affected differently, and with varying types and degrees of deformities, due to the fact
that most cases arise from a new mutation. Living ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This review discussed how Treacher Collins syndrome is caused by a decline in migrating neural crest
cells as determined in the genetic study, which suggested that inhibited p53 gene function could help
to prevent craniofacial anomalies. The decline in migrating neural crest cells then results in many oral
and dental malformations as exhibited in the clinical study, such as a high arched palate, malocclusion,
macrostomia, multiple impactions of the teeth, and cleft palate. The presence of these malformations
has been shown to have a negative correlation on the lives of those diagnosed with the syndrome as
portrayed in the quality of life study. High levels of depression and low levels of quality of life were
seen in patients diagnosed with TCS. Researchers are starting to gain more insight into the causes of
TCS which could help in determining a prevention for TCS. A definitive procedure to prevent TCS,
including what triggers the activation of p53 and the resulting loss of neural crest cells, would be a
significant discovery given the evidence of physical and emotional effects Treacher Collins syndrome
causes those diagnosed with

Supply and Demand
Americans spent more than $150 billion on home improvements in 2013. The average household
improvement was $5,604. This year home improvement figures approach $327 billion with the
average home improvement $11,207. Add to this amount, the millions of new businesses opening each
year like Walgreens and Dollar General Stores. All of these new businesses need gables. Typically,
these businesses hit the market with huge budgets and specific requirements that Onyx Xteriors can
accommodate.
The United States has more than 500,000 hardware stores, siding distributors, roofing suppliers, home
improvement stores and many other businesses selling gable vents. With the building industry
exploding and the current devastating storms, current suppliers of gable vents are unable able to meet
existing demands. Onyx Xteriors can help fill this gap.
Distributors appreciate our aluminum gable vents. They are receptive to our product because of bad
experiences with our competitors gables. Typically, they list the same complaints.
Suppliers of galvanized vents do not ship the vents properly and the gables arrive with dents in them.
The gable vent supplier is shipping in 6 to 8 weeks.

Effects Of Chemistry On The Environment
There is no doubt that our knowledge of science and scientific procedures have changed over time. As
new tools and technologies that appeared during the 20th century, chemistry, physics, biology, and
other sciences were able to grow and develop at a faster pace. These advances in science have helped
humanity by increasing living standards and have brought more widespread wellness to society. For
instance, because of the existence of chemistry, society has been provided with more advanced
medicine, fabrics for clothes, plastics, rubber, componds of personal care products, parts of cars, home
appliances, computers and more. Society has benefited from chemistry; however, our environment is
harmed by the consequences of chemistry as well. Many chemicals are used to improve the quality of
our lives, and most are not harmful to the environment or human health. However, some chemicals
have the potential to cause harm... (Government of Canada, 2011).
The consequence of these modern innovations is that the chemical industry has had extremely harmful
consequences on the environment. The emissions of greenhouse gases and the greenhouse effect,
water pollution, the decrease of biodiversity and the impact on human health are consistent and
growing effects of the chemical industry and its activities. When chemicals are manufactured,
consumed or thrown away, they are able to infiltrate not just the water cycle but also the air and even
the ground soil. Depending on the number of polluting

The Battle Of The World War
It is generally considered that the Pacific War began on 7/8 December 1941, when Japan invaded
Thailand and attacked the British Malaya, Singapore, and Hong Kong as well as America s state of
Hawaii, where they bombed the military bases there. Australia entered World War II shortly after the
invasion of Poland, declaring war on Germany on 3rd September 1939. By the end of the war, almost
a million Australians had served in the armed forces, who fought primarily in the European theatre,
North African campaign, and the South Pacific theatre. The Second World War saw the involvement of
Australian troops more than ever and the closest to home. In addition, for the first time in history,
attacks were aimed at mainland Australia. According to esteemed British author and military historian
Antony Beevor, The Second World War was such a huge combination of different conflicts that it s
almost impossible to point to a single battle as a turning point During the war some turning points for
the Allies were; The Fall of Singapore, The Bombing of Darwin, The Battle of the Coral Sea, The
Battle of Midway and The Kokoda Campaign. The United States Forces also played a big role in the
war in The Pacific Theatre and the turning points for The Australian Forces. The Japanese Bombing of
Pearl Harbour on 7th December 1941 was the starting point of the war in The Pacific Theatre and a
significant event for the Allies, Australia in particular. The attack severely damaged the main

  • 2. Pierre Trudeau s Accomplishments The past is to be respected and acknowledged but not to be worshipped. It is our future in which we find our greatness. These words were written by Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau, who paved the way for the great Canadian future present today. Pierre Elliott Trudeau was an indispensable leader who guided Canada to greatness, he brought biculturalism and bilingualism to Canada, believed in equality and protecting human rights. Pierre Elliott Trudeau s accomplishments paved the way for a greater Canadian future because he became the leader Canada needed for protecting human rights, evolving Canada s language and by giving Canada the confidence it needed to succeed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Trudeau fought for Canada to be a country of many languages and cultures, he did this by introducing The Official Languages Act. In 1969 Trudeau established The Official Languages Act, this made English and French the official languages of Canada. It required all federal institutions to provide services in English and French. The Act was passed on the recommendation of the Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism on 7 September 1969. The act was to ensure respect and equality of all rights and privileges as to their use in all federal institutions. The act supported the development of English and French linguistic minority communities and advanced the equality of English and French languages within Canada s society. Trudeau truly lead Canada to success and wanted the nation to become more diverse. Trudeau noted, Bilingualism means you can speak to the other; duality means you live in one language and the rest of Canada will live in another language. Trudeau strongly pushed for Canada to be Bilingual and thought it would make Canada stronger as a country. Trudeau felt that Quebec had to be less isolated and that it would allow French Canadians to maintain their culture while playing part in a key role in Canada. It was because of Pierre Elliott Trudeau that Canada kept peace amongst everyone and continued to be a united country. Trudeau made Canada better by bringing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Horrific Affect of Pestcides in A Fable for Tomorrow from... Everyday people all over the world try to improve the qualities of their lives. Nonetheless, they forget that what they do can have severe harms and damages on the environment and other organisms. In the excerpt A Fable for Tomorrow from the book Silent Spring, Rachel Carson describes the disastrous and horrific effects of pesticides on the environment and animals of the town. In the essay Our Animal Rites by Anna Quindlen, she shows the inhumanity of animal hunting by human. Furthermore, she argues how human migration is destroying the natural habitats that belong to the animals. In the excerpt Reading the River from the autobiographical book Life on Mississippi, Mark Twain describes how he loses the ability to perceive the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This suggests that the roadsides was once beautiful and bloomed with healthy and lively vegetation; however, they are now destroyed due to the use of pesticides. From these examples, it can be shown that even though pesticide is beneficial, its deadly effects outweigh its benefits; in addition, it is a dangerous substances to the environment, organisms, and even human. Animal hunting is not only inhumane but can also lead to the extinction of many species. In the essay Our Animal Rites , Quindlen asserts that it is pathetic to consider the firepower the hunters use in order to bring down one fair sized deer (33). In this quote, she explains that the use of firepower by human to kill innocent animals is unfair and heartrending. Furthermore, Quindlen describes that even though the bears are killed by the smiling and triumphant hunters after the three bear days in the autumn, the bears look more dignified than they do (33). This suggests that hunting animals is not entertaining but rather unacceptable and disgraceful. Furthermore, many species can become extinct due to excessive hunting. In an ecology class, I learned that the extinction rate of species each year is approximately two hundred to two thousand each year. This is an extremely high and alerting rate since there is only around two million species that has been scientifically identified on the planet. In these examples, it can be concluded that the hunting of innocent animals is atrocious and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Importance Of Birth Tourism Ramirez 1 Ramirez 2 Jocelyn Ramirez Instructor Sharifian GOVT 2305 75427 28 JULY 2017 Assignment Two Every parent has the best intentions when It comes to their family. They will do the impossible in order to provide their children the best way of life and education they can obtain. Most people who immigrate into the U.S. have to start their life over from scratch. While others come in with visas and are able to pay thousands to have a place they can call home throughout their pregnancy. Those types of families are known for birth tourism, or coming into the U.S. 1 to have anchor babies. The U.S. is the land of all opportunities and for people who were not born here might wish that they could have a chance to live the American dream. Which is why the U.S. is popular for birth tourism to occur in because of the practice of birthright citizenship (Will F. G., 2010 ). The areas that are most popular with birth tourism are California and New York, California having the most activity. One of the reasons why California gained popularity was because one of the medical centers in Chino Hills made national news (Grant, p. 166). Birth tourism is mostly practiced among the Chinese, Taiwanese and Turkish nationals. However, Chinese has been the most increasing over the years. One of the many reason why the Chinese increasingly participate in Birth tourism is because, in China they have a strict one baby rule among families. So, most of them come to the U.S. 2 to give birth to more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Global Airline Industry Essay The airline industry has seen drastic changes since September 11, 2001. The government ordered a complete shutdown for three days of not only all commercial aircraft but such carriers as domestic flights and emergency aircraft. For days after September 11th, all aircraft stayed on the ground. Even military aircraft had to receive special clearance to fly. In a ripple effect, the entire economy of the United States and the world was put on hold. The New York Stock Exchange shut its doors because of the attacks on the towers of the World Trade Center. The airline industry is classified into four categories by the Department of Transportation. The four categories are International, National, Regional and Cargo. The following are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of their cheaper fares, the larger airlines are forced to hold down the cost of their flights in order to still attract customers. Of course when a smaller regional carrier does not service a destination that one of the larger carriers does, then any potential cost savings is lost. Another point worth noting is that several of these regional carriers are subsidiaries of a larger airline. After September 11th, passenger traffic dropped off severely, causing the airlines to cut flights, layoff workers and park surplus aircraft (College Grad, n.d.). Conditions are favorable for a turn around in passenger traffic. With the ever expanding world economy, business travel has become more necessary. One area that is not expected to grow is the domestic cargo segment in comparison to international cargo flights. Airlines need to examine the destinations where they fly. If one of the destinations becomes unpopular, then the airline will need to make adjustments or profits will suffer. A good example would be back in the late 50 s where one of airlines main destinations would have been Cuba. Some of the ways costs are figured in the airline industry are as follows: available seat miles, revenue passenger miles, load factor, and revenue per available seat miles. The available seat miles calculation is the number of seats available multiplied by the number of miles flown (Wikipedia, 2007). The revenue passenger miles calculation is the ... • 7. The Immigration Crisis Of The United States The immigration crisis Akash Patel Economics 3rd Period One of the biggest crises the United States fracases is illegal immigrant. Even though we know about the problem we don t do anything that is effective. Because of illegal immigrant people born and raised in America are losing jobs. The current immigration crisis in the US is years of mishandling and gone bad. Many of the current immigrants here were originally here. This mentality has led to a huge increase in numbers of illegal immigrants. For example, it is believed that the current number of illegal immigrants is around 10 to 20 million if not more. Another problem is that the Obama administration has dropped the number of cases of deportation. Why isn t Obama dropping the deportation cased. This means tons of money is spent on border security, but the immigrants who make it through are likely to stay here and use up resources such as money, in turn increasing the national deficit more than needs to be done. Another problem is when it comes to family. Pregnant women come to the US and have children. This leads their kids to be legal citizens of the United States. In 2010 about 4 million United States born children had one parent who was here illegally. By now there are probably more than 5 million. • 9. Song Analysis Of The Secret Life Of Bees The Secret Life of Bees, takes place during the Civil Rights Movement in South Carolina. Lily Owens is a 14 year old girl who carries the senseless burden of killing her mother. She destroys herself believing that she killed her mother and can t come to peace with the accident she caused that caused her mother to die. Later in the book she comes to find out that her mother abandoned T. Ray and her. She is now at a different conundrum and believes her mother should be hoping she ll forgive her instead of her mother forgiving her. She learns form the Boatrights that she needs to come to piece with her mothers decisions and for the death of her mother. She notices how Mary comes to piece when she sings, Oh! Susanna , and helps her realize we all have our own trials and hardships but we also have our own way of coming to peace with our actions. Josh Garrels sings the song, Farther Along , and to me this is a song of joy. The song does have a somber tone to the song. I wondered why the good man dies, the bad man thrives and Jesus cries because he loves em both . This phrase tells me how much Jesus loves us. He is not only crying because a good man died, or because one of his children has fallen far off track, but he is crying for them both. He loves them both. The comparison of internal and external conflicts and the effect on the lives of the protagonists Internal and external conflicts often affect a person s life as well as their families lives. Additionally, it may lead a man to experience an epiphany about his own life. The story Blue Winds Dancing demonstrates the internal and external struggles experienced by the native as he transitions into white society. The native is an outcast and has a longing to return to his native reserve. He thinks [he] is a faker because God would not send a black angel. However, God sent him this black angel as a test of his faith and after he wavers, he returns to God. Throughout these tests of faith, he experiences an epiphany, understanding that there are Jews everywhere (Malamud). Similarly, the native also has an external conflict; he cannot get home after he realizes that he does not want to acculturate into the white society. He tries to return home by dangerously hitchhiking onto the Santa Fe train. • 11. Electric Cars Vs Electric Cars Throughout modern times we have seen and witnessed many advancements of technologies. One of the major advancements in environmental friendly technology we have seen include electric vehicles. Electric vehicles have brought us about many advantages, but there are reasons why electric vehicles should cost more than conventional gasoline cars. Electric car sales have raised to 2 million dollars in 2016 after being almost non existent in 2010. EV s run on electricity, compared to conventional vehicles that use a gas or diesel powered engine. These cars average around $1.14 per eGallon, compared to $3.65 a gallon for gas. Nevertheless they have a major obstacle when it comes to entering and doing well in today s market due to the high price. Electric cars use different parts that cost more to produce, therefore the parts used to make the electric cars cause the price for the car to rise. Considering the cost for producing electric cars is so expensive, companies need to charge a high price in order to make a profit. This proves that the price for electric cars should be more expensive than gasoline powered vehicles because of the battery price, it s a new market and the technological opportunities. To create a battery that makes an electric car run there are many different components that need to be taken into consideration. The cost for electric car battery by itself takes up about 25% 50% of the electric vehicle price. The main component that contribute to the majority price ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Russia and China, both Stalin and Mao emerged as almost god like leaders despite making their respective countries endure harsh programs of reform all economically, politically and socially. Mao can be seen to have adopted the policies of Stalin, both inspired by the Marxist ideologies of Lenin. Both Stalin and Mao recognized the economic backwardness of their respective countries and wanted to use industrialization and collectivisation as the primary means of increasing their economies. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Farmers had to grow crops but also had to work to produce steel and iron in addition to infrastructure projects. This policy led to deaths of millions of Chinese peasants and what came to be known as the biggest famine in history. This was a huge failure for Mao, and threw off his position as leader. Viewing both the leaders policies, solely on the basis of economic success, it can be said that Stalin s policies were somewhat successful as Stalin took a backward country and turned it into a massive urban working class with most of the country being electrified, which was not available before. In addition, the policy of collectivisation fulfilled its goals as peasants were now paid wages and land and machinery was collectively owned. Looking at the human cost of the policies, both industrialization and collectivisation were hard on the population, creating poor working conditions and famines throughout the nation. Stalin had also maintained his power throughout all of his economic policies, unlike Mao who after the Great Leap Forward had to re establish himself through the Cultural Revolutions. Despite Mao s fall, his economic policies were also to some extent, successful as more than half of China became irrigated and the railway network virtually doubled. In addition, Mao s reforms motivated the common people to work together and embody a Communist worker, whereas Stalin s reforms produced Stakhovanites . Stalin and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Without public transportation, it would be very hard for many to get around, especially students. It really is hard to imagine a world without public transportation, however, there once was a time. Before 1886, there was no public transportation in the Kitchener Waterloo region, then known as the Berlin Waterloo region, before Berlin was renamed to Kitchener. Without your own means of transportation, likely a horse drawn vehicle, you would have to travel by foot, meaning you probably could not travel too far. However, when horse drawn streetcars were brought to the region, this all changed for the residents. The Berlin and Waterloo Street Railway Company was established in 1886 and finally opened its railway in 1888. The original line ran along King Street to Cedar Street (now known as Bridgeport Road) and also branched out to the Grand Trunk Railway Station. The line spanned about 4km and had a half hour service. There were eight cars and 17 horses, as well as three covered sleighs for bad winter weather, meaning the service was year round. The Crucible is a play written by Arthur Miller that tells the history about innocent people being hanged, because of this group of girls who lied that they ve seen the devil with some of the other people in the village and the court took their word over anyone else s. The short story The Lottery is written by Shirley Jackson about an annual ceremony of a drawing to see who will get stoned to death and this tradition has been going on since the very first villagers. The Lottery is more disturbing than The Crucible because the participants is everyone living in the village, the punishment for The Lottery is torturous, and the ceremony was annual, since it was a tradition. The Lottery is more disturbing than The Crucible because the participants is everyone living in the village. True enough Arthur Miller has his characters somewhat participate in these hangings, but they participate in a different way. The villagers in The Crucible differ when it comes to their role in the witch trials. Some believe the girls lies, while others speak out against them, which is actually not a lot of people during this. On the other hand, The Lottery has only one type of participants in their village, which are the ones who agree to everything, help and don t speak out against the tradition no matter how wrong it is. No one looks down on this event, that everyone joins in, even if a parent was chosen their children would also help stone them as well. Come on, come on, everyone. (Jackson 5). Old Man Warner says this as they were about to throw stones at Mrs. Hutchinson until she finally died. It isn t fair, it isn t right, Mrs.Hutchinson screamed, and then they were upon her. (Jackson 5). She didn t want this to happen, but she did before, because she wanted to participate in it as well. In addition, no one reacts to the tradition.
