The Impact Of Globalization And The Involvement Of...
Introduction
The Sukuma people of northwestern Tanzania, resting on the southern shore of Lake Victoria, have
been greatly impacted by the increasing global markets in the region. While the Sukuma are dispersed
across Tanzania, those that live near Lake Victoria have greatly changed their ways of living because
of the impacts of globalization and the involvement of European countries with fisheries along the
Lake. Many of the Sukuma people work for the fisheries that export extremely high quantities of fish
to other countries, and yet they are barely able to provide for themselves and their families. The city of
Mwanza is made up of predominantly Sukuma people, and their culture here has greatly adapted due
to changes in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This global involvement has created a hostile environment from a beautiful and balanced culture, and
their lack of respect removes their right to have control over the region.
Background and Overview
First, according to Jenkins (1996) culture profile of the Sukuma people, the group has lived in their
current area of Tanzania since 1300 CE. During the first millennium, there were vast migrations of
early Bantu speaking people, and this is likely where the Sukuma culture is rooted from. As of 2005, it
is estimated that there are around 5.5 million Sukuma people, and they are thought to account for up to
90% of the population in the city of Mwanza (Jenkins 1996), which has a population of around 2.8
million. In addition to being the most prominent group of Mwanza, they are also the largest ethnic
group in Tanzania. Some Sukuma live in the infamous Serengeti Plain, and in Shinyanga, and some
have migrated further south into various other areas. The Sukuma speak a Bantu language that is
similar to the national language of Tanzania; Swahili, although it is tonal making it differ from Swahili
(Jenkins 1996). The Sukuma have historically relied on agriculture, and the women do the majority of
the work for the family. Sukuma farmers grow crops such as cotton, cassava, rice, and peanuts
(Jenkins 1996). Certain subgroups rely more heavily on herding cattle, as well. While most Sukuma

Declaration Of Rights Of Man And Citizen
Even though the Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen never received the chance to be
implemented, it reflects the ___ of change that had occurred within the first five years of the French
Revolution; through the ___ we are able to understand the mindset of the men from the National
Convention ( 221). Cahier of the Parish of St. Germain d Airan was written in accordance to the
authority of King Louis XVI; members of the community gathered to create the doctrine and to show
reciprocal love through contributions to the state ( 55). Members of the community felt like King
Louis XVI was having the doctrine created out of the goodness of his heart solely. The Declaration of

My Visit To Michigan
If I had a ticket to go anywhere, I would go to Michigan state for the reasons that it has been a dream
of mine for a undoubtedly long amount of time. It has been a dream of mine because a bunch of my
friends talk about how great it is, how cold winter is, along with how lovely the lakes are. I love cold
weather as much as I love water. Michigan being known for its great lakes has the largest freshwater
coast in country 3,288 miles of shoreline. Oh the refreshing water against your skin during the
summer days. It is said that Lake Superior is the largest of the Great Lakes of North America and is
shared by the Canadian province of Ontario to the north, the US state of Minnesota to the west, also

Aiding In Racial Profiling
Racial profiling occurs when a police officer selectively focuses on a person s race where the harass,
detain, or arrest the individual (Cooper,2001). Racial profiling is a serious issue that has gone rampant
in the united states today; people being scared to do everyday activities because of their race is
terrorizing and they culprits should be look at as terrorist. The government system is not set up to
benefit the minorities, the iron triangle is a connection of groups that are placed to try and benefit the
people, but sometimes they only benefit themselves and people alike. Aiding in racial profiling is an
institutionalized form of terrorism and needs to be stopped at the source, and these are the steps we
should take. In the case of the Milwaukee Bucks basketball player John Henson who was just trying to
buy some jewelry he experienced racism. Henson was going to a jeweler to buy some merchandise
and wasn t allowed into the store because he store workers felt intimidated. Henson was a 6 11
millionair basketball player that looked scary to the store workers, so for the workers to protect
themselves they locked the doors and ran to the back of their office where the employes proceed to
call the police. When the police arrive at the scene they have to suspect that Mr. Henson was
dangerous in some way due to the description given, the police officers were able to asses the situation
and confirm that Henson did not mean any harm. The profiling of Henson was

Poverty Of A Indebted Poor Countries ( Hipc ) A Project By...
INTRODUCTION
This paper looks at the Highly Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) a project by the IMF and World Bank.
DEBT RELIEF KEY TO POVERTY REDUCTION
The World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) with its view that no poor country faces a
debt burden that it cannot manage, came up with an initiative in 1996 called HIPC initiative. Since
then, the International financial community and the multilateral organizations and governments have
worked tirelessly together to reduce external debt to sustain levels for the many Highly Indebted Poor
Countries. The World Bank and its partner IMF believes that poverty reduction will come by reducing
debt levels of the country.
NEGATIVE OUTCOMES OF HIPC INITIATIVES ON ZAMBIA
The World Bank and the IMF, almost always put conditions to members states to access financial
assistance. HIPC countries like Zambia were not an exceptional.
Four conditions were put in place for HIPC to meet, this includes:
1. be eligible to borrow from the World Bank s International Development Agency.
2. Face an unsustainable debt burden, that cannot be sustain through traditional mechanism debt relief.
3. Have established a track record of reforms and sound policies.
4. Develop a Poverty Reduction Strategic Paper
The technicalities behind the above conditions came at a price, which to date, a little of progress has
been seen. Civic leaders under the leadership of President Levy Mwanawasa of the Republic of
Zambia, were on each other s tails.

Hardware and Software Selection
There is a necessity to have either hardware or software to integrate the accounting information into
an automated system for viewing by the proper individuals. Below, Learning Team A will show who
needs to access this information, what controls will be implemented, the type of reports to be
generated from these hardware or software and importantly what type of information will be available
through corporate Intranet and the Internet. Having the proper hardware and software integrating
Riordan s data into automated systems will make life easier for those involved with all the accounting
cycles, especially accounts receivable.

A detective control is designed to uncover an undesired problem that has transpired. This control is
necessary when the preventive control has failed (Dunn, et al, 2004). The third is the corrective
control, which is designed to restore a system to an approved or last known good state. A company
usually establishes corrective controls to remedy problems that are discovered by the detective
controls. One advisable procedure that can be implemented for this control is establishing training
programs that can teach employees how to use the new automated system that can help them perform
their job functions more efficiently and effectively.
It is necessary to recognize that any control strategy has to be tailored to address the risks to objectives
that management identifies as unacceptable for the integration. The objective should be detecting risks
that are materially threatening the goals of the organization and to reduce them to the point that
management is more willing to accept.
Reports
With regard to software and which one is best when dealing with accounts receivable, there are many
different programs available. The main thing the company must look at when purchasing software is
that the system works for the company. There are many reports that are useful to companies within the
Accounts Receivable cycle. We will name the one report that is the most important and gives the most
information on monies owed to the company.

Maurice Hunt s Analysis
Maurice Hunt s Analysis of Richard the Third in Shakespeare s King Richard III and the Problematics
of Tudor Bastardy dives into the world of succession and legitimacy and politics in the time of
Shakespeare and these histories to provide context and narrative in which Shakespeare uses this
history as a back handed comment to the Plantagenet of the time Queen Elizabeth I, a Tudor. Maurice
Hunt goes into to great detail of the politics of succession and how Richard uses it to his advantage
while Shakespeare. The author of the article places a back drop of how illegitimacy effected the
Tudors even before the time of Ricard III. Owen Tudor, and Catharine of Valois, the widow of Henry

Essay on The History of Music Industry
In the past, music has been a costly business, where only people with a lot of money could enter and
be successful in the industry. Changes in the music industry coupled with new computer technology
have made it much easier for people without a lot of money to compose, produce, and distribute their
creation. In order to get a better understanding of the music industry in comparison to 2014, one has to
look at its history. There were many things that happened from the 1980 s onward, and they brought
on a significant impact towards the music industry. Development in computer technology has also
made a big impression on music. Many things within these fields have enabled artists to connect with
their fans in a way they couldn t before, and on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were many changes in the business of music records from the 1980s onward. For example, the
Telecommunications Act of 1996 law was passed. This enabled a free for all in for the record
companies and granted them the ability to compete with anyone in the market. What ended up
happening was the companies bought each other left and right until there were 5 or 6 big companies
that ran everything. The record industry controlled music production, distribution, and airplay on the
radio. Radio started out on the AM frequencies, then later the FM higher fidelity stations. The only
way to get music through to the masses feasibly was to go through the highly selective record
companies because they were the only ones who could mass produce music. To distribute, first they
sold music on gramophone records, an early distribution medium made of processed shellac from the
lac bug. Then they moved on to track tapes, vinyl records, compact cassettes, and eventually CDs.
Emerging digital Era: 1980 s And Beyond:
Gradually after this event, the medium for music had changed, from various types of analog grooved
discs, to various types of magnetic tape based reels and cartridges, to compact discs, or CDs, to digital
downloads.
An early revolution in music portability was created by a device called the Walkman cassette player.
This device was based on a similarly designed

Bioengineer s Role In Oryx And Crake
Bioengineer and its role in Oryx and Crake Oryx and Crake is one of my favorite readings in the
semester. I like the flow and arrangement of the plots. The novel is an enthralling post apocalyptic
story with a detailed description of the science and technology it based on. The most important science
and technology involved in the novel is genetic or Bioengineering. The novel was written in late 20th
century and early 21st century, a time when many breakthroughs and controversial Bioengineering
incidents took place. Atwood is known as an avid environmentalist of the time. She was concerned
about the ethical controversial and the downplay of the humanities at the time and choose to use her
work to examine the trend in development and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the novel, the two main characters grew up in a cosmetic focused Bioengineering company s
compound. The creation of a compound integrating different functions and providing different
services for a company is not such a novel idea today. Many internet tycoons like Google and
Microsoft have their own campuses which provide similar services and amenities to their employees
as the compounds described in the book. However, to emphasize the effect Bioengineering would
have on a society, Atwood took a step forward by making the compounds more secluded and
exaggerated the power and functionalities of them. The seclusion created by the Bioengineering
companies directly led to the divided social classes. People who were associated with companies
resided in the privileged compound and people who were not related to the company lived in the
dangerous Pleebland. It was a privileged but also an underprivileged to be in the compound in a way.
Unlike the charitable attributes of technology companies campuses today, the compounds in the book
were created to withhold the scientists and protect the Bioengineering secrets of the companies.
Jimmy s mother viewed it as a prison and Jimmy in the later chapters would try to use the word
freedom to persuade his mistress to elope with him to Pleebland. The corporate power enabled by
exclusive Bioengineering technology can be seen throughout the book. Bioengineering companies had
control over every aspect of the daily life for people live both inside and outside of the compounds.
Atwood warned the risks of having monopoly Bioengineering companies by making all the companies
in the book monopolies. This kind of monopoly enabled technological power to develop into political
power and eliminated the existence of any modern government structures. The overpowering of the
Bioengineering companies also leads to the complete lack of

Misrepresentation Black Men
The media s representation on ethical/racial and colonial illustration is not always accurate; there are
many stereotypes and critics always find something to be false. Realism also plays a big role in
representing in what critics believe. (Shothat 178)
The sensitivity around stereotypes and distortions largely arises, then, form the powerlessness of
historically marginalized groups to control their own representation. Since Black people are the
minority, they have no control over how they are represented in the media. As Shothat had mentioned
in his article, In the media there is a tendency to represent Black males as potential delinquents. The
misrepresentation of most Black males, affects them significantly; therefore, since they

Research Paper On Charles Darwin
Charles Darwin:
Charles darwin was born on February 1809 and he is famous for his theory of evolution. The premise
of this theory was related to all of life. This states that evolution changes occur after vary generations
and different survival have different combinations. Charles claimed the offspring of something would
also gain what its parent s had as an advantage(If they had wings so would the offspring). The
disadvantages would occasionally die out from offspring to offspring. Charles helped us think about
evolution and his big theory ended up being true and without him I don t believe we would ve known

Manhood In Lady Macbeth
In the play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare, the reader can identify many themes that

The person who portrays this theme the most would have to be Lady Macbeth, though she is merely
the woman of the house, she takes charge in many situations of the play and questions Macbeth s
manhood along the way. When you durst do it, then you were a man;and to be more than what you

Prince Carl of Solms Braunfels
Prince Carl of Solms Braunfels, was a key figure in the establishment of German culture in Texas.
Despite being in Texas for only one year, Prince Carl of Solms Braunfels was able to leave a lasting
legacy of German culture and traditions through the town of New Braunfels.
Early Life
Born on July 27, 1812 to Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Solms Braunfels and Princess Friederike of
Mecklenburg Strelitz, Friedrich Wilhelm Karl Ludwig Georg Alfred Alexander, known as Prince Carl,
was brought up in a wealthy noble family. He was educated as a soldier and courtier, and was fluent in
three different languages. As with most nobles of the time, Prince Carl had an illustrious family tree
and many connections. Because of this, he received important military assignments and awards. In
1834, he secretly married Luise Auguste Stephanie Beyrich, a woman of lesser status. This was
considered a disgrace and not fit for a prince, so in 1841, he annulled his marriage to Luise after being
pressured to by his family. While serving in the cavalry of the Austrian Army, Prince Carl stumbled
upon G.A. Schrepf s guide to Texas immigrants, Charles Sealsfield s novel about Texas, and William
Kennedy s Texas: Its Geography, Natural History, and Topography. This sparked an interest of Texas
in the adventurous, charismatic prince.

American Temperance Movement Essay
The desire to control alcohol consumption, or advocate temperance, has been a goal of humanity
throughout countless periods of history. Many countries have had organized temperance movements,
including Australia, Canada, Britain, Denmark, Poland, and of course, the United States. The
American temperance movement was the most widespread reform movement of the 19th century,
culminating in laws that completely banned the sale of all alcoholic beverages. The movement
progressed from its humble local roots to nationwide organizations with millions of members and
large amounts of political power. The growth of the temperance movement resulted from the changes

This creation of a strong domestic market involved extension of trade links between communities that
were previously not joined. The production of domestic goods increased while the price of the goods
decreased, allowing urban growth and specialization among manufacturers. During this time, a
division formed between men and women, where men s work moved away from home while women s
became fixed there. A new society was formed after the Revolutionary War, and the norms of colonial
America soon became a thing of the past. Consumption of alcohol changed greatly after the war as
well. Whiskey became the America s favorite liquor, and a deeply valued trade item. It was efficient to
make, saved materials, and cheap for people to buy. Whiskey was suddenly being consumed in record
amounts, and was even used to instead of water and milk in cities, where the water was often polluted
and the milk expensive (Blocker 9). Drinking changed in ways other than higher consumption rates
and cheaper whisky in cities. Whereas in the colonies drinking took place in community situations, in
the cities drinking often took place outside the home. It was no longer being produced by families but
had to be purchased with money that can ultimately hurt the family. People began drinking more in
informal individual situations instead of closely tied community events, creating hostility

Everyday Life And Existence In Thornton Wilder s Our Town
Throughout time, many things have changed dramatically. Technology, food, culture, and the quality
of life are just a few examples of how our life has been altered. However, there is one thing that has
not changed much: the view of human life and existence. Humans want and have the need to be
unique, yet this is just an implausible figment of the imagination. Life unveils itself for everyone in
the same way when it comes to love, death, and other worldly things. Everyone has the intention of a
perfect life. Thornton Wilder looks into the idea of the similarities of everyday life and existence in his
play, Our Town; this is also explored in various genres. One genre, movies, explores the idea of
similarities of everyday life and existence. In a scene from the movie Hope Floats, the mother tells her

One part of the poem Lucinda Matlock gives a quote that can apply to most people s lives: And then I
found Davis. We were married and lived together for seventy years. This shows that the woman in the
poem has found her soulmate. She proves that true love actually is possible. She also believes that
love is important and a significant part in life; she must have believed that if she lived with her
husband for 70 years. In Our Town, George and Emily go to a drug store to drink sodas. George tells
Emily, I think that once you ve found a person that you re very fond of...I mean a person who s fond
of you too, and likes you enough to be interested in your character...Well, I think that s just as
important as college is, and even more so. George, like the woman in the poem, believes love plays a
major role in life; he believes it is something worth pursuing. Most people have two beliefs: either
they hold love to be important, or they do not think it plays a major role in life. This makes people

Society has over time, developed many means of communication starting with the word of mouth to
writing letters, the telephone, and now the internet. The internet has developed its own form of
communication, which is a social network. Social networks have created a way for people across the
world to communicate with each other at the same time, all in one place, thus making it the internet
the reason behind the revolution known as Social Network. Just as anything else, social networks were

Social media s have also been used by the government for public support, a prime example being
President Barack Obama s 2008 Campaign. In 2007, when the campaigning began, social networks
were still fresh and the government had not yet used it to their advantage. President Obama was able
to connect social networking applications to raise money, organize locally, fight smear campaigns and
get out the vote to help them topple the other candidates. It all was pretty simple, posting updates on
Facebook and tweeting reminders to vote. Through that strategy he was able to create an enormous
database of supporters and followers that Presidents before had never experienced or had even thought

been able to utilize the social media work to his advantage, to create a more personal association with

Free From Slavery
The moment the slave resolves that he will no longer be a slave, his fetters will not fall. Freedom and
slavery are mental states. This famous quote from Mahatma Gandhi, an Indian independence icon,
explained the ways of declining the role of a slave with the help of his/her conscience. However, this
got me into thinking. In the light of this quote, am I really free from slavery? In general, Gandhi s
quote is impossible. I cannot be completely free from slavery. Why is this so? In a conscious mind,
one can think that he/she is free from slavery, however, in his/her unconscious mind, he/she is not free

Nursing Case Study African American Hypertension
African American female, 71 years old, has been admitted to the hospital from her primary care
provider ten days post op following a right below the knee amputation. Her only complaint is that of
abdmonial pain. Her vitals are as follows: BP 100/70, HR 122, RR 22, Temp 101.1, and oxygen level
96% on room air. Glucose level is 563mg/dl on glucometer and the patient states that she takes a
round white pill for her diabetes. She has also been diagnosed with hypertension in the past and takes
a white oval pill for it. Head to toe assessment that has been completed noted a foul smell omiting
from the bandage where the leg has been amputated. Clearly this patient is exhibiting clinical signs of
sepsis. The initial thought is that the source of infection is the surgical wound since the foul odor is

Challenges Of Giving A Speech
Life is about challenges and there are challenges we face by having to give a speech as well as the
stress on what to give a speech over to keep your audience attentive. We connect with each other
through the words we speak whether it is in a large group or one on one in a working interview. A
teacher has to learn how to communicate in many different ways to help every student learn in their
own unique way.
I always found it hard to pick a topic that I want to discuss or write about. In my opinion, it is easier to
give a speech that you are well familiar with than having to do research to educate yourself on
something you know nothing about. Being able to give a speech on something you already know will
allow you to speak without having to look off of your legal pad, furthermore builds trust with the
audience, but will it be a strong enough speech to keep everyone s attention. What you know, they
may already know. Knowing who you will be giving a speech to will help you with the details of what
you should inform the audience about. In my opinion, it is in the power of the speech.
The power of a speech can be remembered for a lifetime. It is not what you say, but how you say it.
You want to give a speech that they will remember, therefore, it is all about the details in your speech.
Knowing whom you will be speaking to and the knowledge they already know is important. You want
to inform the audience, not give them the basic information they already know. That will not engage

Realism In Tony Kushner s Angels In America
Angels in America: Millennium Approaches by Tony Kushner can be conventionally defined as a
work of Theatricalism. Breaking the preconceived notions of theatre such as gender casting, fluent
scenes, and varying extremes ranging from characters, to visuals, to the introduction of historical
figures. However, the work strikes a note of realism. We find ourselves encompassed by passionate
actors sharing real emotions with us, scenes based in historical events, and characters placed in events
that we then find to be our own realities. While we find our realities to be true and heightened by those
in the work could it be possible that some of these characters realities are in fact false, or being
defined by the theatricality that surrounds them? Harper serves as an emotionally charged wife to Joe,
who questions not only his sexuality, but her purpose as a wife. A close read of the play begs ... Show

and a bit later when she is in this place, I... Feel better. There are ice crystals in my lungs, wonderful
and sharp. (3.3 p105 Kushner) We see that for Harper being away from Joe results in distance and the
loss of warmth, which we normally relate to death. She has died, a part of Joe has died. What can help
to reaffirm her as Joe s moral guide, or compass is that shortly after we see Harper in her cold place
Joe commits what we know to be his first sexual act with a man. His values have died. (3.7 p121
Kushner) Within in her cold place Harper further has the ability to create it s bounds and limitations,
which is unique and signifies that she is other worldly. While Mr.Lies tells her they are in Antarctica,
she constantly defies what he states to be facts, what she says becomes the reality of the place.
Something that no other character in the play has yet to do. (3.3 p107

Materialism In Alexander Pope And Pope s Rape Of The Lock
The views of women have altered over time, but have always had objectifying tendencies. During the
18th century, cosmetic alteration to natural beauty peaked and materialism heightened throughout
societal views. Authors such as Alexander Pope and Jonathan Swift vividly spew these views
throughout their writings. Pope s Rape of the Lock exposes the materialism used in objectifying
women, mainly in the upper class societal levels. The whole plot of the story centers around a
cosmetic appearance creating an objectified view, as since the lock of hair was cut from a woman s
head, the missing lock became, so called, evidence of a man s sexual conquest. Other sexual
conquests, forced or not, are spoken with anything but love and only those of ... Show more content on

This elevation highly represents the overall theme that materialism plays an almost biblical role in
society. The other way to analyze the list is that the Bibles are brought down to the very materialistic
level of the other listed cosmetics. Another aspect to note is that Bibles is plainly listed, not the first or
last mentioned item, but somewhere in the middle. Both ways conclude that the cosmetic, material
items compare at the same level as the Bible s paired along with them. Another list comes with a
comparison of paired items that contradict each other s importance; ... Or stain her honor, or her new
brocade,/ forget her prayers, or miss a masquerade,/ Or lose her heart, or necklace, at a ball;... (Pope II
106 107). The first description used in each line is something of importance, as staining honor,
forgetting prayers or losing her heart all have serious implications and consequences. But then those
more serious actions are paired with trivial material ones; staining a new brocade, missing a
masquerade or losing a necklace at a ball. The material actions paired with important ones really unify
them as being on the same level of importance. The contradiction is removed and materialism is
elevated.
Objectification of women goes hand and hand with materialism. When Pope speaks of the sexual
conquests in The Rape of the Lock, he only focuses on the material aspects that result

How Did Islam Influence Trans Saharan Trade
Following the advent of the current era, West Africa with the Western Sudan empires of Ghana,
Songhai, and Mali was the center of outside contact and influence with the spread of Islam and being a
center of the Trans Saharan trade. Being a part of the Trans Saharan trade gave West Africans a
connection with those outside the continent, namely in Europe and Southeast Asia. It also gave the
opportunity for things other than goods to be exchanged like Islam. Africans adopted and shaped
Islam into their own religion that others besides them also learned and accepted. The camel arrived in
Western Africa after the first century of the current era. In a desert environ, nothing could top the
camel as the most fundamental unit of caravan transport. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The effects of the Trans Saharan trade are evident through looking at the currencies used in Western
Africa. Igbo Ukwu, in modern day Nigeria, shows that by the ninth century West Africa was not
isolated from the outside world, as for some its trading goods included over one hundred thousand
glass beads, mostly from Egypt and India. The Almoravids also exported gold coins to infiltrate
Europe s economy by accompanying its silver currency. During the height of Western African
empires, Africans had a lot of interaction with people outside the continent that they were both
influenced by and affected themselves.
East Africa after the sixteenth century had grown to be an international center where many outsiders
would come to trade. By the 1500s, East Africa was starting to become a thriving trading center, with
several Europeans and Southeast Asians coming to stay for several months due to the strong monsoon
trade winds. They were not just intermediaries in trade but consolidators and producers, with Kilwa
playing the middleman. Portuguese seeing this success, attempted to establish an East African empire
there but failed due to several conditions the main being how strong the Africans were against

Racism Against Indigenous People
Racism Against Indigenous People
If racism to the Canadian Indigenous is over, how is it that 50.7% of Indigenous peoples have reported
moderate, or high levels of psychological stress, while sadly, 22% commit suicide. As we very much
know, racism is a big problem in our world today. It may sometimes be confused that one can only be
racist to another with a different skin colour. Not only can racial ideas be affected or shaped through
skin colour, but also religion and culture alike. That is why it is commonly misconceived, that there
was no wrongdoing or discrimination towards the Indigenous peoples back when the Europeans first
arrived. I believe that the Canadian government is not doing nearly enough to provide our natives with
proper the sympathy they re entitled to, causing them to fall ever deeper into the hole of racism and
misunderstanding. Using our history, I will explain what happened to the Indigenous peoples of
Canada and why they should be given more of a chance in their lives to command authority and
leadership, concluding with how we can help.
As the 16th century began, the Indigenous peoples were living happy and peaceful lives, respecting
the environment and the creatures within it. But with about 5 years time passing, the europeans came,
commencing what would eventually be the cause of all our Indigenous problems now a days... so,
what did they do? As the europeans crossed the border, they introduce many things into the first
nations daily lives. Firstly,

What Was The Cultural Importance Of Asian Elephants
The cultural event I chose was the cultural importance of elephants to the east. Recently Busch
Gardens have had an Asian elephant assimilated in. Elephants through history in the east held much
importance when it came to warfare, nobility, culture, and way of life. The Elephant was a symbol of
power and authority for many powerful empires such as the Mughal Empire or Vijayanagar Empire.
Elephants hold very important roles throughout history in Asia and India. Asian elephants have been
integral to the history of Asia and India, proving to be useful in many things such as warfare and
construction. Asian Elephants are huge mammals that can weigh up to 6 tons, shoulder height of 10
feet, and 21 feet from head to tail. Their size and strength are very useful in hauling things such as
logs and are a military might unrivaled for thousands of years. They can live up to 60 years but the ...

Communism Has Denied Basic Human Rights
Surrounded by barriers of controlled propaganda and instilled fear, Communism has denied basic
human rights under the disguise of utopian ideals since its first practice in 1917 by Russia.
Communism, an ideology originally founded by Karl Marx, proposed a way of life in which all
workers would be equal. Marx called on the working class, or the proletariat, to unite against the class
of factory owners and investors, or the bourgeois; it was predicted that Communism would arise in the
countries where these classes are present. This form of government, however, remains fundamentally
flawed in the sense that it is socially impossible, bearing in mind the human mentality of evolution
and ambition. In order to make Communism a reality, many basic human rights have to be taken away
including the rights to life and liberty, to an impersonal education, public hearing, privacy, and
movement. By using different approaches of psychology as implements of repression and social
control, Communist countries have attempted to maintain a totalitarian government while the church,
despite the many obstacles faced, has remained peaceful while providing hope and support for the
citizens. One field of psychology relied upon most evidently by the Communist Government of the
Soviet Union was the psychodynamic approach, a perspective that looks at childhood and family
experiences, unconscious thought, and societal demands, denying the human rights to freedom of
thought and to an unbiased education

Siddhartha, By Hermann Hesse
Siddhartha Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse was a very interesting book to read. I found it to be a very
interesting way for people, like myself, who are not Hindus, and who do not live in India to learn
about the Indian and Hindu culture and religion without being there physically to experience it. This
book is about a boy, Siddhartha, who is probably somewhere in his teenage years. He lives with his
father, who is a Brahmin, they live together in ancient India. As in many cases, there is an expectation
that Siddhartha is going to follow in his father s footsteps. If this were to take place then Siddhartha
would become a Brahmin and do the same types of things in his life that his father has done in his. I
particularly liked this book because I felt as though it was something that many people can relate to.
While a lot of people, at least not in the United States, do not have the expectation of becoming a
Brahmin, there are a lot of children and young adults who are expected to follow what their parents
have done in their life, or what if not following their exact path then they are expected to follow the
path that their parents have chosen for them. Going back to the book, Siddhartha continues to struggle
after he and his friend hang out together, and everything is perfect, but then, all of a sudden he doesn t
feel anything, he isn t happy, which concerned him because it was something that would normally
make him and other people very happy. Siddhartha, the book, is about

Stonehenge Vs. Easter Island
Stonehenge vs. Easter Island Stonehenge and Easter Island are two very old and interesting mysteries
and monuments of the world. Stonehenge is outside of Salisbury, England and is consists of lots of
grass and giant, grey stones. This site was made between the times of 1520 B.C.E 3000 B.C.E. There
are many reasons why people think Stonehenge was built. Stonehenge was built it using precise stages
of construction. Archaeologists said it could have been used for rituals, traditions or even used as a
burial site. Easter Island, itself is off the coast of Chile. The Easter Island statues or Moai as called on
the Island are big black rocks with long slim faces. The statues seemed to have been used in many
different ways such as rituals, worshipping and traditions. While the Easter Island statues were used
for worshipping and were carved and then moved, Stonehenge may have been used as a burial site or
for ritualistic traditions and was made in different stages in one place. Stonehenge is complex yet,
simple place. The name Stonehenge comes from the name Stonehengen meaning stone hanging or

Don T Call Me Ishmael Bullying Quotes
The brilliant author, Michael Gerard Bauer, raises a key topic that affects many people in today s
society in his extraordinary novel, Don t Call Me Ishmael! Bauer wisely uses humorous situations to
pinpoint to young adults a well known problem in our society today, bullying. There is an abundance
of bullying by one of the key characters in the book, the toughest and the meanest kid in school, Barry
Bagsley. Not only does Barry bully Ismael, but he also bullies other characters in the book. At first
Ishmael blames himself for the constant bullying he receives off Barry, however, as the story
continues Ishmael grows confidence and realises that Barry was the real problem and bullying is
strictly not allowed.
The horrendous acts of Barry affects many characters over the course of the novel, including Bill
Kingsley, James Scobie and Ishmael himself. The first and most obvious act of bullying seen in the
book is during roll call when Ishmael s name is called out. Barry being the boy he is, he shouted,
Ishmael? That s a wussy crap name! This is the first sign of bullying and also the first instance of the
readers ultimately being told that Ishmael doesn t fit in at school. Mrs Torango, Ismael s teacher,
decides that she needs to put a stop to the bullying at the first given opportunity. Giving Ishmael some

Occupational stress is an increasingly important occupational health problem and a significant cause
of economic loss. Occupational stress may produce both overt psychological and physiologic
disabilities. However it may also cause subtle manifestation of morbidity that can affect personal well
being and productivity (Quick, Murphy, Hurrel and Orman, 1992). A job stressed individual is likely
to have greater job dissatisfaction, increased absenteeism, increased frequency of drinking and
smoking, increase in negative psychological symptoms and reduced aspirations and self esteem (Jick
and Payne, 1980). The use of role concepts suggests that occupational stress is associated with
individual, interpersonal and structural variables (Kutz and Kahn, 1978; Whetten, 1978). Studies on
burnout found that, it is related to exhaustion and work over load factors in various organisations
(Green and Walkey, 1988; Chermiss, 1980; Freudenberger, 1977, 1980). Stress on the job is costly for
employers, reflected in lower productivity, reduced motivation and job skills, and increased and
accidents. The purpose present study is an attempt to investigate and to compare the level of stress
experienced by the employees of the Nationalised banks in Chennai. The study aims to ascertain the

The Pros And Cons Of Politicians
Government is said to be necessary to the existence of a civilized society but how could one survive in
a society where the Government isn t civil to a nation. They have consistently failed to keep
Bahamians safe and secure. In Bahamian society cronyism, embezzlement, scandals and corruption
have plagued our unsuccessful governments. They must be held accountable thus, circumstances like
these should result in immediate termination of any politician without exceptions.
The unfair practice by Politicians who provides employment and other favors to individuals has been
skeptic for Bahamian. It is common that once Government changes, many of the staff within the
various ministries will also. In June 2012, The Tribune reported that in less than two months in office,
the current Administration decided not to renew the contracts of eighty Urban Renewal employees.
Thus, eighty persons were left unemployed and eighty families affected due to the actions of the
careless Politicians. Many that campaigned and organized rallies for the Progressive Liberal Party

E Commerce Security Threats And The Solutions Essay
During the early 1960 s, E Commerce businesses conducted electronic transactions via primitive
computer networks but the way these transactions were exchanged provided little to no
security(34).This made online transactions on WWW(World Wide Web), not reliable and unsecured
making consumers eager to not take the chance of risking their information, on an unprotected system.
During the early 1960 s came Electronic Data Interchange(EDI). EDI replaced traditional mailing and
faxing of documents with a digital transfer of data from one computer to another .(35)This was the
first step toward the E Commerce that is present today. Then the influential SSL protocol would come
to be which helped to improve the state of security on the WWW. This led to more protocols being
introduced, leading to other detrimental protocols such as (3D Secure, TLS, SET). These protocols,
that were just mentioned are still widely used today. This paper will go over the threats and the
solutions of E Commerce security. E Commerce security threats according to FindLaw UK, major

isolating factor when she moves and is engulfed by a foreign culture without anyone to guide her
through it. The events of her childhood could create a cultural barrier and the people she is surrounded
by probably will not be able to relate to her or understand her struggles. The experiences she went
through as a child leave her completely unprepared to leave her family behind and venture into an
entirely different world by herself. Having lived through a time of war in Iran, Satrapi might have
strenuous experience trying to adjust to the culture of another country. Since she has experienced the
oppression of basic human rights to speak and believe their own truths, a place where these rights are
granted might be a hard thing to transition to. Satrapi s experiences will make it harder for her to relate

Introduction
Deception is one of the most highly discussed terms within the modern day society; the awareness
between deception and communication technology has raised many questions regarding deception and
technology, also known as digital deception .
Research Questions
The questions this paper will research are societal issues concerned with deception and self
presentation. 1) How can the Internet facilitate deception through the manipulation of identity; 2) how
are lies produced; do they differ in Internet conversations used to form intimate relationships? Do
different media vehicles cause more intentional forms of lying; 3) is there a way to detect digital
deception in different online communication spaces? In which situation is it more difficult to detect
lies in a text based or face to face interaction? What factors affect our ability to determine these
deceptions?
Motivation
In order to further develop the motivation behind this fascination, I will question the reasoning behind
digital identity fallacies, and what steps are/can be taken in order to prevent this misuse of online

Biblical Theology Of Worship. Throughout Our Time In Church,
Biblical Theology of Worship Throughout our time in Church, and here at Moody, it is hard to go
through it without being told that a priority we should put in our relationship with God is that we
should worship him. But what does that mean and how do we do it? What does the bible say about
worshiping God? Worship is the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for God. I think that
we can show that through our daily actions and also through singing to God and praying to him, as we
most commonly see in Church When we envision worship in our minds, we commonly think of
people in a church singing songs to a powerpoint presentation. But to think that is the only way that
we can worship God is false in every sense of the word. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If they knew why we do what we do in worship on Sunday then they would be much more
entertained. When we looked at different things that should be included into Corporate Worship on
Sunday morning, what better place to look than at some of the churches that Paul wrote to in his
epistles, because apparently we aren t the only ones that are struggling to find out what the best way of
planning corporate worship is. The first verse that anyone goes to for Corporate Worship is found in
Colossians 3:16 when Paul tells the Colossians to, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching
and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with
thankfulness in your hearts to God. The first step that Paul gives to the Colossians is to let the word of
Christ dwell in you richly , showing there is a connection between Corporate Worship and the reading
of the Word of God. It almost appears as if Paul is saying we need to read the Word first before we can
all come together in worship of God. Then Paul says we should be teaching and admonishing one
another in all wisdom, This section shows us two things: teaching, and fellowship. We need to be
taught about the word of God and also we need to keep in touch with other believers and go through
life with them, learning from them and vice versa. Hebrews 10:25 is an example of this, saying we
shouldn t be neglecting seeing each other, but instead should be

In addition to being the most prominent group of Mwanza, they are also the largest ethnic group in Tanzania. Some Sukuma live in the infamous Serengeti Plain, and in Shinyanga, and some have migrated further south into various other areas. This enabled a free for all in for the record companies and granted them the ability to compete with anyone in the market. What ended up happening was the companies bought each other left and right until there were 5 or 6 big companies that ran everything. The record industry controlled music production, distribution, and airplay on the radio. Radio started out on the AM frequencies, then later the FM higher fidelity stations. The only way to get music through to the masses feasibly was to go through the highly selective record companies because they were the only ones who could mass produce music. To distribute, first they sold music on gramophone records, an early distribution medium made of processed shellac from the lac bug. Then they moved on to track tapes, vinyl records, compact cassettes, and eventually CDs. Many internet tycoons like Google and Microsoft have their own campuses which provide similar services and amenities to their employees as the compounds described in the book. However, to emphasize the effect Bioengineering would have on a society, Atwood took a step forward by making the compounds more secluded and exaggerated the power and functionalities of them. The seclusion created by the Bioengineering companies directly led to the divided social classes. People who were associated with companies resided in the privileged compound and people who were not related to the company lived in the dangerous Pleebland. It was a privileged but also an underprivileged to be in the compound in a way. Unlike the charitable attributes of technology companies campuses today, the compounds in the book were created to withhold the scientists and protect the Bioengineering secrets of the companies. Challenges Of Giving A Speech Life is about challenges and there are challenges we face by having to give a speech as well as the stress on what to give a speech over to keep your audience attentive. We connect with each other through the words we speak whether it is in a large group or one on one in a working interview. A teacher has to learn how to communicate in many different ways to help every student learn in their own unique way. I always found it hard to pick a topic that I want to discuss or write about. In my opinion, it is easier to give a speech that you are well familiar with than having to do research to educate yourself on something you know nothing about. Being able to give a speech on something you already know will allow you to speak without having to look off of your legal pad, furthermore builds trust with the audience, but will it be a strong enough speech to keep everyone s attention. What you know, they may already know. Knowing who you will be giving a speech to will help you with the details of what you should inform the audience about. • 27. Realism In Tony Kushner s Angels In America Angels in America: Millennium Approaches by Tony Kushner can be conventionally defined as a work of Theatricalism. Breaking the preconceived notions of theatre such as gender casting, fluent scenes, and varying extremes ranging from characters, to visuals, to the introduction of historical figures. However, the work strikes a note of realism. We find ourselves encompassed by passionate actors sharing real emotions with us, scenes based in historical events, and characters placed in events that we then find to be our own realities. While we find our realities to be true and heightened by those in the work could it be possible that some of these characters realities are in fact false, or being defined by the theatricality that surrounds them? • 29. Materialism In Alexander Pope And Pope s Rape Of The Lock The views of women have altered over time, but have always had objectifying tendencies. During the 18th century, cosmetic alteration to natural beauty peaked and materialism heightened throughout societal views. Authors such as Alexander Pope and Jonathan Swift vividly spew these views throughout their writings. Pope s Rape of the Lock exposes the materialism used in objectifying women, mainly in the upper class societal levels. The whole plot of the story centers around a cosmetic appearance creating an objectified view, as since the lock of hair was cut from a woman s head, the missing lock became, so called, evidence of a man s sexual conquest. Other sexual conquests, forced or not, are spoken with anything but love and only those of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This elevation highly represents the overall theme that materialism plays an almost biblical role in society. The other way to analyze the list is that the Bibles are brought down to the very materialistic level of the other listed cosmetics. Another aspect to note is that Bibles is plainly listed, not the first or last mentioned item, but somewhere in the middle. Both ways conclude that the cosmetic, material items compare at the same level as the Bible s paired along with them. Another list comes with a comparison of paired items that contradict each other s importance; ... Or stain her honor, or her new brocade,/ forget her prayers, or miss a masquerade,/ Or lose her heart, or necklace, at a ball;... (Pope II 106 107). The first description used in each line is something of importance, as staining honor, forgetting prayers or losing her heart all have serious implications and consequences. But then those more serious actions are paired with trivial material ones; staining a new brocade, missing a masquerade or losing a necklace at a ball. The material actions paired with important ones really unify them as being on the same level of importance. The contradiction is removed and materialism is elevated. Objectification of women goes hand and hand with materialism. When Pope speaks of the sexual conquests in The Rape of the Lock, he only focuses on the material aspects that result ... As we very much know, racism is a big problem in our world today. It may sometimes be confused that one can only be racist to another with a different skin colour. Not only can racial ideas be affected or shaped through skin colour, but also religion and culture alike. That is why it is commonly misconceived, that there was no wrongdoing or discrimination towards the Indigenous peoples back when the Europeans first arrived. I believe that the Canadian government is not doing nearly enough to provide our natives with proper the sympathy they re entitled to, causing them to fall ever deeper into the hole of racism and misunderstanding. • 34. Communism Has Denied Basic Human Rights Surrounded by barriers of controlled propaganda and instilled fear, Communism has denied basic human rights under the disguise of utopian ideals since its first practice in 1917 by Russia. Communism, an ideology originally founded by Karl Marx, proposed a way of life in which all workers would be equal. Marx called on the working class, or the proletariat, to unite against the class of factory owners and investors, or the bourgeois; it was predicted that Communism would arise in the countries where these classes are present. This form of government, however, remains fundamentally flawed in the sense that it is socially impossible, bearing in mind the human mentality of evolution and ambition. In order to make Communism a reality, many basic human rights have to be taken away including the rights to life and liberty, to an impersonal education, public hearing, privacy, and movement. By using different approaches of psychology as implements of repression and social control, Communist countries have attempted to maintain a totalitarian government while the church, despite the many obstacles faced, has remained peaceful while providing hope and support for the citizens. One field of psychology relied upon most evidently by the Communist Government of the Soviet Union was the psychodynamic approach, a perspective that looks at childhood and family experiences, unconscious thought, and societal demands, denying the human rights to freedom of thought and to an unbiased education ... This book is about a boy, Siddhartha, who is probably somewhere in his teenage years. He lives with his father, who is a Brahmin, they live together in ancient India. As in many cases, there is an expectation that Siddhartha is going to follow in his father s footsteps. If this were to take place then Siddhartha would become a Brahmin and do the same types of things in his life that his father has done in his. I particularly liked this book because I felt as though it was something that many people can relate to. While a lot of people, at least not in the United States, do not have the expectation of becoming a Brahmin, there are a lot of children and young adults who are expected to follow what their parents have done in their life, or what if not following their exact path then they are expected to follow the path that their parents have chosen for them. Going back to the book, Siddhartha continues to struggle after he and his friend hang out together, and everything is perfect, but then, all of a sudden he doesn t feel anything, he isn t happy, which concerned him because it was something that would normally make him and other people very happy.
