Singapore s Globalized And Diversified Economy
Singapore Known as one of the Four Asian Tigers, Singapore s globalized and diversified economy is
only behind Hong Kong s. That title has been achieved due to its market economy, A highly
developed, and one of the freest, most competitive, innovative and business friendly economy based
on extended entrepôt trade, a profitable trading post that allows importing and exporting free of duties.
(Wikipedia) Worldwide, Singapore is one of the major commercial centers, third highest per capita
income, fourth biggest in finance, and fifth among the busiest ports; yet, it has one of the highest
income inequalities. Singapore s trading and manufacturing represent 26% of its GDP. The Corruption

the world s least corrupt countries. Also, location, advanced infrastructure, low taxes, and skilled

Community Agency Visit At Norwood Health Center
Community Agency Visit at Norwood Health Center

April 27, 2016 Community Agency Visit at Norwood Health Center
Norwood Health Center was the facility I chose for the community agency visit. Norwood Health
Center is located in Marshfield, Wisconsin at 600 N. Chestnut Ave. I interviewed Elizabeth Masanz,
the nursing director for the facility. Her contact information is (715)384 2188 ext. 3227. Her email
address is Emasanz@co.wood.wi.us. Norwood Health Center focuses on individualized impatient and
outpatient treatment. Residential services are provided for mentally ill, developmentally disabled, and
people in crisis. Two nursing homes are also located in Norwood Health Center to care for dementia
individuals. The vulnerable population that I focused on at Norwood Health Center was the mentally
ill. I decided to focus on this population because mental health has always intrigued my interest. I also
wanted to gain knowledge about the healthcare careers available in this demographic.
Unique Needs of the Population
Effects of mental illness for many patients can come from a range of social and economic challenges
including poverty, homelessness, lack of access to education and employment, and a lack of personal
and social supports (Goodyear, Hill, Allchin, McCormick, Hine, Cuff, O Hanlon, 2015). Mental illness
in families can also create further needs for individuals that are involved. For example, children that

Reed Frog Research Paper
What was the reason you chose to research about this species (topic)? The reason I chose to research
about this species was because I thought it was a somewhat rare species that is not really heard from in
public or rather often and I feel like I can teach someone about this species and at the same time learn
myself further more about this species while I do this research or project as I would call it. A problem
that I would say this species faces is that it is becoming extinct because of the small amount of
capacity that shelters can only hold for frogs therefore, they are becoming extinct because there is no
room for these amphibians to survive in and another problem I would say that that this specie faces is
that there isn t much information as there are to other species ... Show more content on

Researchers should also publically state in a book, magazine, website, newspaper etc. that is based on
science and say what they have learned from their research and maybe even experiments with this frog
so that other people in public can be informed and also know more about the Reed Frog since it is not
a very well known specie. In my opinion, I believe that my proposed solution could possibly benefit in
a way where it will help others in a somewhat helpful way for example if they need this kind of
information in the future and also if they like or enjoy studying these kinds of topics it might help
them and it can possibly even entertain people. Are there any policies or standards currently in place
that would affect the way your solution could be implemented? In my opinion, I think that if there are

Analysis Of Madeline Edad s Sunrise Model
Madeline Leininger s sunrise model was first developed in 1976, she calls it a trans cultural health
model. It includes major social and cultural factors influencing individual perspective of health care
systems. The model is designed to provides a guidance for the study and analysis of the major
variables found within different cultures in order to obtain a trans cultural heath care perspective of
health illness systems ( Leininger,1976). The 1976 model consisted of two major categories: levels of
analysis and major domains of study and analysis. Four different levels of analysis and corresponding
domains of study were included. Level one analysis of social structure features and the domain
associated with this level were political, economic, social, cultural, technological, educational,
demographic, and environment factors. Level two was analysis of cultural values and health care. The
domains associated with level two include dominant cultural values and health care values. Level
three analysis of health care system and its typologies. Major domains of study associated with this
level included folk and professional health systems. Level four analysis focuses on role and function
of health professionals. Domains of study included role responsibility and functions. Later on for the
next decade, Leininge presented multiple models for use in studying trans cultural and ethno caring
concepts building upon this original model. But I like this one the most because I feel that

Where Shoenberg Went Wrong Essay
Where Schoenberg Went Wrong (or Right!) Arnold Schoenberg believed that the developing harmonic
language of the late nineteenth century had led to a musical crisis. He felt that tonality had been
stretched to its absolute limits, and that what was to be said within its confines, was already best done
by the great composers before him. Schoenberg believed that he existed within a lineage of
composers, and therefore, was the successor to deliver the next big innovation in music. This idea of
pushing music forward is not a novel one though; we have long observed similar acts of musical
righteousness. Simply consider the first chorus in a symphony as in Beethoven s Ninth, or a requiem
text that is not in Latin as in Brahms Ein deutsches Requiem. ... Show more content on

The traditional compositional forms sonata, rondo, minuet and trio, etc. depended upon the
establishment of a key and a modulation to another key to mark important structural events. Music
contemporary with and following Wagner tended to change key far more often. In fact, keys morphed
so quickly that it was hard to say whether a tonic had ever been established. Tonic and dominant
relationships were lost, structural boundaries were blurred, and listeners were losing themselves in an
aural swamp. Schoenberg s solution was to find a means of organization other than tonality. In his
quest, he pursued methods dictated by free atonality, by text (Sprechstimme) and ultimately by the
twelve tone method. By removing tonality, Schoenberg emphasized the independence of each musical
line by the importance of a set of intervals. It was a radically new way of creating and perceiving
music, but one cannot emphasize enough that this idea the idea that the norm is insufficient is not new
with Schoenberg. Beethoven felt that an orchestra alone was insufficient to deliver the message he
envisioned for his Ninth Symphony. Brahms felt that a Latin requiem text was inferior to what would
be a largely German speaking audience. And Schoenberg felt that continuing with the commonplace
traditions of tonality would suffocate the ideas he wished to communicate. So we return to our

The Cost Of A Cell Phone Network On Meaningless Crimes And...
All cell phones register their location with cell phone networks several times a minute, and this
function cannot be turned off while the phone is getting a wireless signal (Cell Phone Location
Tracking Public Records 1). Inmates can be monitored in many different ways, from cell phones to
tracking anklets. The Tracking Release Program should be put into effect more than it already is. This
change will stop the waste of tax payer s money on meaningless crimes and other people s mistakes. It
costs $700.00 a month to house one inmate and the cost of one employee s hourly wage of $10.50
(U.S. Marshal Service 2). Compare the cost to house one inmate to the cost of hiring one employee.
The cost is substantially different. By the end, you will have a basic knowledge of how this program
will save money and create jobs.
First of all, not all inmates should be subjected to prison for their crimes. For example, not every
crime is considered high priority, so this would mean they have a misdemeanor. A misdemeanor is a
low level case where the person gets prosecuted, but not labeled as a high risk. With a misdemeanor,
inmates could be put into the tracking reform program. The people who qualify for this would be
breaking and entering, drugs, stalking, and probation for an entry level parole. The program also
provides an extra layer of supervision with the goal of enhancing public safety in the community
(Jackson 1). This program creates a safety net by monitoring the time and

The Importance of Chariot Racing for the Romans Essays
The Importance of Chariot Racing for the Romans
Racing has been a pastime for humans ever since we were able to tame animals and since we have had
the technology to allowed us. There are so many forms of racing in the world today that have been
shaped through hundreds and thousands of years. What is it that attracts us to racing? Is it the speed,
potential crashes or even just the atmosphere? To answer this question many things have to be
considered.
To start with lets look at the start of the Rome, at the first celebration of the Consualia in honour of
Consus (an ancient god of agriculture) the rape of the Sabine Women is believed to have happened.
Romulus (founder of Rome) held chariot races ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They had plays, gladiators, sports both aggressive and non aggressive like wrestling and running other
than this there was only really music and art. Now think about how many types we have, it is
significantly larger than
What the Romans had. However, if you ask someone how important say F1 racing was to them they d
probably say not too important but that is because we all have different acquired tastes. Back then you
had too like what was on offer otherwise you would have nothing! However there was still some
resistance to the entertainment on offer to the Romans, Pliny the Younger complains that chariot
racing is exactly the same all the time, he then expresses his frustration at the people who do like it
because they only like it because of the type of team It wouldn t be so bad if they appreciated the
horses speed or drivers skill. But all they see is the colour of the tunic . Some direct evidence of the
Roman way of life getting progressively involved in entertainment is that gradually the amount of
days dedicated to games per year rose quite significantly. By 100 BC, six games had been held. In
total this numbered about forty nine days dedicated to games per year,by the end of the second century
the number of days per year had reached one hundred thirty five. That s not far from almost tripling in
days over the space of 100

Assessment And End At The After Care Component
Abstract This proposal of a standardized but flexible treatment plan can be used in all aspects of the
treatment facility. The plan will include the client s input but will also include the counselor s best
judgement for treatment. This proposal will show the start of the assessment and end at the after care
component.
Treatment Plan Proposal
Basics of Proposed Plan:
Assessment:
Each client who decides to seek treatment will first undergo a thorough assessment. This assessment
will include use of two or more self reporting tools. These tools may include the DAST 10, AUDIT,
Kessler 6 10, and C SSRS (Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale) (SAMHSA, 2011, para 3 4).
These scores will be used in conjunction with the DSM 5 section III emerging measures (SAMHSA,
2011, para. 2). A proper assessment is needed to determine the severity of substance abuse and the
mental state of the client. If needed, the client will be further evaluated for the need of psychiatric
medications to stabilize any potential mental illness concerns such as depression, anxiety, or
schizophrenia.
As a matter, of course, detox on an in patient basis may be required before treatment can be
implemented. Observation and intervention by the medical team will be utilized to detect and treat any
medical concerns such as seizures, thyroid dysfunction, or medical dysfunctions during the detox
phase.

Great Smog Of London And The Scientific Implications In...
The Great Smog of London and the Scientific Implications in Today s World
Turn of the century London, the emergence of the middle class has forced the cultural bias to shift in
favor of more homes, more people, and a lot of energy consumption. Science s solution to the energy
crisis is a seemingly perfect one: distribute and utilize a more available fuel. Coal burned slower than
wood and therefore kept people and homes warm more resourcefully. For a while it seemed like a
miracle solution. The industrialization of the previous age had been using coal as well, and when the
air became polluted with the factory and energy refuse, the smog was swept away in a matter of hours
(Kilen, C.) That went on until early winter of 1952. That fall had been an unusually cold one, and the
coal had been burning day and night. The factories had been chugging on, and the black smoke kept
rolling. The process by which factories burn coal is as follows: the coal is blown into the furnace
where it burns while still airborne. The heat is used to warm water, which then produces steam, which
spines a turbine. The factories that burn coal now use methods to slightly lessen the pollution, such as
wet limestone to absorb the sulfur (How Coal Works, Union of Concerned Scientists, p.4). This
particular winter, though, the pollutants would not be swept away as they had been in the past. This is
due to the fact that on this particularly cold December, an inversion occurred over the city of London.

Catholic Church Annotation
In a recent event in Rome, Pope Francis was faced with the question on whether he would consider the
ordaining of female deacons in the Roman Catholic Church. While addressing the 900 superiors of
women s religious orders he vowed that he was in agreement and would consider it. This is a decision
that I am in agreement with and feel that it is long overdue for a myriad of reasons.
Pope Francis papacy began on March 13, 2013 and he vowed to be open to new and fresh ideas to
help the Catholic Church become more appealing to those in the 21st century. In vowing to seriously
consider the female deacon he is proving to be true to his word, an item one would believe to be de
facto with his position. The immediate support for his mention proved this notion worthy and would
generate an immediate ground swell of young Christian women without a denomination to at least
take a more serious look at Catholicism and it s teachings. The shear fact that he is even considering
this is a huge change in a Church that only recently, with Pope Francis mention, acknowledged the
huge role that women play in Catholic life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A female deacon would finally bring the female perspective to the ministry while still continuing to
carry on the rich tradition of a Church that began in the 1st Century AD. The Bible even references in
Romans 16:1 a woman named Phoebe as deacon , trying to distinguish a female participant as more
than a women follower. This history combined with a fresh messenger is needed in the US as well as
all countries and Pope Francis has vowed to consider and follow

Beta Blocker
Hi Shoaib,
Well written paper on beta blockers in controlling hypertension. In my experience, I had seen more
than 80% of patients are prescribed with antihypertensive drugs in their medical chart. A beta blocker
is one of the most common drugs in a geriatric setting especially atenolol. Beta blockers are the
standard of therapy for many cardiovascular conditions and it is the main line of treatment in
decreasing risk of stroke. According to Ladage, Schwinger, and Brixius (2013) beta blocker was more
effective in decreasing mortality and morbidity rate in acute coronary syndrome patients. Atenolol is a
water soluble and had longer half lives with non metabolized actions and excreted via the kidneys
(Ladage et al., 2013). The exercise capacity increases in patients who are on beta blockers, like
bisoprolol, nebivolol, carvedilol (Ladage et al., 2013). A recent meta analysis study showed patients
who are untreated with hypertension, they are at risk of developing chronic kidney diseases,
cardiovascular complications, and cerebrovascular complications (Butt Harvey, 2015). In one study,
mainly geriatric population who are taking atenolol had shown greater mortality rate and increase

A Social Psychological View of the Help
The movie, The Help, is based on the book written by Kathryn Stockett. It was released in 2011 and
directed by Tate Taylor (Taylor, 2017). The Help is set in Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960 s, and it is
about the experiences black women had as maids for white families. These women decided to risk it
all and tell their stories in an effort to show what is was really like for them (Taylor, 2011). The Help
illustrates how these women fought racism and prejudice by becoming unified with one another. This
paper will address how prejudice, discrimination, stereotyping, and inequality affect the characters and
their relationships in the story.

When she knocked on the door, the women at bridge club unsuccessfully hid from her. When she went
to the window, she spotted a few of them and at first did not understand that they were hiding from
her. She slowly realized they were trying to avoid her. When she got back home she told Minny, They
made me stand there like I was the vacuum salesman (Taylor, 2011). This is just one example in the
movie of prejudice that is bordering on discrimination.
Discrimination
Aside from being prejudice toward anyone different from herself, Hilly Holbrook also exemplified
discrimination in the story. Discrimination is similar to prejudice, but it is defined as behavior directed
against persons because of their membership in a particular group (Kassin, Fein, Markus, 2014). Hilly
was prejudice toward Celia, mainly through her own negative beliefs about her. She did not
demonstrate many acts of discrimination toward Celia, but she did when it came to the maids.
In the beginning of the movie, she was shown in her bathroom marking the toilet paper with a pencil
(Taylor, 2011). That was her way of making sure that her maid, which was Minny at the time, did not
use their bathroom inside of the house. She had a separate outhouse for Minny to use. Hilly was also a

The worst famine in recorded history combined with mass killings of innocent people occurred in
Cambodia as the result of the Khmer Rouge s reign. Stripping their citizens of all modern technologies

Innocent people were killed on the basis that they may possibly be enemies of the state, although
rarely was there evidence proving these millions of Cambodians were enemies at all. From 1975 to

Around the same time, the Vietnam War began adjacent to Cambodia between communist North

However, the bombing mainly affected Cambodia and had disastrous results, as it destroyed much of

Germany During The Cold War
Section A: Plan of Investigation This investigation will assess the extent to which the division of
Germany during the cold war affected the social conditions of the citizens living in both sides. The
two main sources used will be Growing up in East Germany written by Bruno van den Elshout and
Berlin After the Wall by Cassie Leventhal. Investigations on the manner in which the social and
economic differences on each side of the wall will be evaluated through examples of the citizen s
lives. Other supplementary sources are used such as charts and graphs relating to the social standards
and behaviors that differentiate the citizens of the East and West.
Section B: Summary of Evidence
In 1990, as the German Democratic Republic (GDR) and the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG)
was reunited under one government, many of the citizens saw each other as foreigners and claimed
that the fall of the wall actually brought some negative impacts to the citizens living in East Germany.
According to Leventhal, negative stereotypes developed about the East Germans and Westerners
resented the huge transfer of payments to the East, calling the recipients dependent, shiftless,
backwards and ungrateful. In contrast, East Berliners developed hostility towards those in the West,
calling them Boastful, aggressive, and insensitive. (Leventhal). Because many of the city services

Taking a Look at Vatican II
Ecumenical councils are a practice that age back to the reign of Roman Emperor Constantine. An
ecumenical council is a conference of Christian bishops in order to resolve current issues affecting the
entire church . The councils would publish texts and legislation that would become crucial to the
development and operation of Christianity. The Second Vatican Council, or Vatican II, was the most
recent ecumenical council. Vatican II is considered to be one of the major events of the twentieth
century and impacted not only the church but also the modern world.
Vatican II came to be through Pope John XXIII. Pope John expressed his intentions of calling an
ecumenical council just three months after his election. This came as a shock to many because Pope
John was almost eighty years old at the time and was known by many to be an uncontroversial man.
His reasoning behind calling the council was pastoral in nature. This meant that Pope John wanted the
council to focus on the lives of believers and their experience of living the faith in the world as it is
today . Pope John wanted Vatican II to be a dialogue with those outside the church in order for the
church to become more positive and relaxed in modern times.
Vatican II made five notable contributions to the reform of the church. Those contributions were the
reform of the liturgy, the self understanding of the church as the people of God , relations with other
Christian churches and with non Christian religions, the churches

I heard Officer J. Gustafson, who was doing an evidence track with and K 9
Officer C. Buchanan, stated via the radio, they found a firearm in the 1700 block of A ST SE, which is
just south of the 7/11. I walked to Officer

Coming Of Age In The Outsiders
The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it. Moliere, a famous author of the 17th
century, explains that obstacles that stand in a person s way can make them stronger. This happens
because overcoming an obstacle can make a person gain something and grow during the experience.
This is one way a person can come of age. Coming of age is when someone grows mentally,
emotionally, or spiritually. Coming of age mentally is when someone grows in their state of mind.
Coming of age emotionally is when someone grows in their feelings, or in a relationship. Coming of
age spiritually is when someone grows in their beliefs. This growth happens both in real life and in
literature. There are many ways for a person or character to come of age ... Show more content on

When first introduced into the story Clay is just an average high school student. He was friends with a
girl named Hannah who recently commit suicide when he receives a box of voice recorded tapes from
her explaining her reasons behind killing herself. These tapes are the extraordinary circumstance that
force Clay to come of age. In the tapes, Hannah explains how if people reached out to her, talked to
her, maybe things would have been different, maybe she would still be alive. I think I ve made myself
very clear, but no one s stepping forward to stop me. (...) A lot of you cared, just not enough. And that
s what I needed to find out (Asher 280). Hannah explains how she made it clear that she was unhappy
and thinking about suicide, but no one did anything to stop her, and it seemed that no one cared
enough about her to do anything, resulting in her death. After hearing these tapes and these words,
Clay has a new perspective on people, to be nice to everyone who seems sad so they don t end up like
Hannah. Earlier in the book we were introduced to a character named Skye, who, after 8th grade,
stopped talking to people. Clay was on the bus while listening to a few of Hannah s tapes, and Skye
realized he was in the seat in front of her, and decided to talk to him. Skye s always been pretty, but
she acts like the thoughts never crossed her mind. Especially the past couple of

Alexander Graham Bell Impact On Society
Imagine sending a letter every time you had something important to say. That letter could take days to
reach the person you trying to get it too. There was no trucks to send mail there were only couriers.
For example couriers would walk or ride horseback for days do deliver a message. Therefore, one
casual day on March tenth 1876 Alexander Graham Bell had changed the way of communication. He
invented the first telephone called the bell telephone named after its creator. Some people say the

clunky devices capable of transmitting, and receiving voice messages over short distances. The
telephone evolved into lighter transportable cellular devices capable of enabling communications over

How To Write A Personal Essay About My American Culture
As an American who has Russian parents and was born in Israel, I have always been engaged in
multiple cultures. My parents have put emphasis on preserving our Russian heritage while

After leaving the Soviet Union and gaining freedom of religion, my parents became devout Russian
Orthodox Christians. Nearly every Sunday of my life has been spent in church. My parents have
encouraged me to become an active member of my parish: I used my knowledge of Russian to learn
the Slavonic alphabet in order to read epistles, psalms, and prayers during each service. Reading these
texts over and over again has woven the tenets of my faith into my being. The principle that has
resonated with me most is my golden rule that one should not judge others. This mandate to keep an
open mind is an integral part of my identity. I strive to accept people and their ideas at face value
without any animosity. The golden rule makes it possible for me to consider new perspectives without
compromising my own beliefs. When I meet someone who holds a viewpoint that differs from mine, I
consider these ideas based on their merit, rather than simply putting up a blustering defense of my
own views. Listening with an open mind enables me to find the inherent goodness in every person I
meet and blend my traditional views with contemporary ideas into a centrist

Effects Of Low Level Disruption On The Classroom
Findings from a recent Ofsted report have shown that low level disruption in the classroom is causing
pupils to potentially lose up to one hour of learning each day, and that this may have a detrimental
impact on their life chances (Ofsted, 2014). Difficulties managing behavior is a commonly reported
source of stress and burnout among teachers, and is resulting in a substantial number leaving the
profession within 5 years (Ford et al, 2012). Disruptive behaviour is not only stressful for teachers, but
it can be unsettling for pupils, can hinder pupils enjoyment of school and can prevent pupils from
fulfilling their potential (Gorard, 2010). Although there has never been a time when all pupils behaved
well, all of the time (Viser, 2005), it is important that teachers have a good understanding of the
challenges they may face in the classroom, and are equipped with effective strategies to help them
manage classroom behaviour. After all, effective behaviour management and discipline in schools is a
crucial to ensuring academic success and a positive and safe learning environment (Luisellia et al,
2005).
In response to ongoing concern regarding behaviour management a wealth of research being carried
out and official documentation has been published, such as the Elton Report (DES, 1989) and the
Steer Report (DfES, 2005), on what works well in schools. Both reports hightlight that teachers were
most affected by the impact of relatively minor, but persistent, low level

E. B. White Pig
In Death of a Pig , E.B. White discusses the experiences of raising a sick pig. White s attitude about
his pig dying expresses that he did not believe it was ethically right for the pig to suffer unnecessarily.
Whites experience with his sick pig reflects his feelings about the tragedy of animals suffering. When
his pig becomes ill he expresses empathy to the pig, knowing that the pig is suffering. White sees the
pig dying as a tragic loss and regrets that the pig did not live a healthy life. He has an animal burial to
mourn the loss of his pig, but becomes melodramatic about his sympathy for the pig because of his

Theme Of Religion In Cry The Beloved Country
How can one make so many mistakes in life and still be forgiven as if they did not do anything
wrong? In the novel Cry, The Beloved Country by Alan Paton, religion was an important point
throughout the whole novel. The main character, Stephen Kumalo, who simply goes by Kumalo, was a
black South African priest who revolved his life around his family and God. There had been many
times in Kumalo s life where his feelings and actions had been the results of devoting his life to God.
Paton continually mentioned the importance of faith in this book and what it meant to each of the
characters present. One of the main ideas in this novel was the journey Kumalo took in order to
overcome the challenges he had faced. The obstacles he was presented with included finding his
daughter and his son. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During Kumalo s journey, his connection with God was shown through the spiritual dimensions of the
land. His main goal was to find his family and get them back together; the land of South Africa
showed him that life needed to be changed and as once Kumalo returned to Ndotsheni with his family,
the land was a work in progress. An agricultural demonstrator came into town and was preparing to
improve life at Ndotsheni. By these events taking place, God was answering Kumalo s prayers by
getting his family back together and upgrading the land. Through the tragic events of Absalom
committing murder and asking for forgiveness, his prayers were somewhat answered. The white man
he murdered was committed to helping the natives and trying to get everyone to be equal. The father
of the dead man carried on his legacy by contributing to the redeveloping of the land for the natives.
Absalom s prayers were answered by the white family still giving back to the natives. In America
today, has God made such impacts with people who are constantly praying for his help or for

0.3% of the world s population lived in Australia (UNDESA, 2013). Because of the huge number of
immigrants Australian government set programmes to control the increase, which are integrating

Harris tells his story in front of a video camera with a bottle of Jack Daniels and a sawed off shotgun

(Provenzo Jr. 45). Costikyan argues that first person shooter games are a way to let young people vent
out their frustrations and impulses without harming anyone, but what he fails to see is that Eric Harris
and Dylan Klebold did in fact harm people and were partly influenced by the game Doom, which is a
part of a game genre that he feels uses violence well (Costikyan).
Violence is not something that can be used well, whether used in video games or in real life. Harris
and Klebold, on the other hand, thought the opposite, in real life and in video games, with Harris
going as far as creating their own customized version of their favorite game, Doom. Craig A.
Anderson and Karen E. Dill, professors of Psychology at the University of Missouri Columbia and
Lenior Ryhne College respectively, commented on this personalized version of Doom in writing, In
his version there are two shooters, each with extra weapons and unlimited ammunition, and the other

one did not meet the METs, and one declined the offer. The Civil Service test for this job title was not

  • 3. Community Agency Visit At Norwood Health Center Community Agency Visit at Norwood Health Center Heather Doering Mid State Technical College April 27, 2016 Community Agency Visit at Norwood Health Center Norwood Health Center was the facility I chose for the community agency visit. Norwood Health Center is located in Marshfield, Wisconsin at 600 N. Chestnut Ave. I interviewed Elizabeth Masanz, the nursing director for the facility. Her contact information is (715)384 2188 ext. 3227. Her email address is Emasanz@co.wood.wi.us. Norwood Health Center focuses on individualized impatient and outpatient treatment. Residential services are provided for mentally ill, developmentally disabled, and people in crisis. Two nursing homes are also located in Norwood Health Center to care for dementia individuals. The vulnerable population that I focused on at Norwood Health Center was the mentally ill. I decided to focus on this population because mental health has always intrigued my interest. I also wanted to gain knowledge about the healthcare careers available in this demographic. Unique Needs of the Population Effects of mental illness for many patients can come from a range of social and economic challenges including poverty, homelessness, lack of access to education and employment, and a lack of personal and social supports (Goodyear, Hill, Allchin, McCormick, Hine, Cuff, O Hanlon, 2015). Mental illness in families can also create further needs for individuals that are involved. For example, children that have parents ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Reed Frog Research Paper What was the reason you chose to research about this species (topic)? The reason I chose to research about this species was because I thought it was a somewhat rare species that is not really heard from in public or rather often and I feel like I can teach someone about this species and at the same time learn myself further more about this species while I do this research or project as I would call it. A problem that I would say this species faces is that it is becoming extinct because of the small amount of capacity that shelters can only hold for frogs therefore, they are becoming extinct because there is no room for these amphibians to survive in and another problem I would say that that this specie faces is that there isn t much information as there are to other species ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Researchers should also publically state in a book, magazine, website, newspaper etc. that is based on science and say what they have learned from their research and maybe even experiments with this frog so that other people in public can be informed and also know more about the Reed Frog since it is not a very well known specie. In my opinion, I believe that my proposed solution could possibly benefit in a way where it will help others in a somewhat helpful way for example if they need this kind of information in the future and also if they like or enjoy studying these kinds of topics it might help them and it can possibly even entertain people. Are there any policies or standards currently in place that would affect the way your solution could be implemented? • 5. Analysis Of Madeline Edad s Sunrise Model Madeline Leininger s sunrise model was first developed in 1976, she calls it a trans cultural health model. It includes major social and cultural factors influencing individual perspective of health care systems. The model is designed to provides a guidance for the study and analysis of the major variables found within different cultures in order to obtain a trans cultural heath care perspective of health illness systems ( Leininger,1976). The 1976 model consisted of two major categories: levels of analysis and major domains of study and analysis. Four different levels of analysis and corresponding domains of study were included. Level one analysis of social structure features and the domain associated with this level were political, economic, social, cultural, technological, educational, demographic, and environment factors. Level two was analysis of cultural values and health care. The domains associated with level two include dominant cultural values and health care values. Level three analysis of health care system and its typologies. Major domains of study associated with this level included folk and professional health systems. Level four analysis focuses on role and function of health professionals. Domains of study included role responsibility and functions. Later on for the next decade, Leininge presented multiple models for use in studying trans cultural and ethno caring concepts building upon this original model. • 6. Where Shoenberg Went Wrong Essay Where Schoenberg Went Wrong (or Right!) Arnold Schoenberg believed that the developing harmonic language of the late nineteenth century had led to a musical crisis. He felt that tonality had been stretched to its absolute limits, and that what was to be said within its confines, was already best done by the great composers before him. Schoenberg believed that he existed within a lineage of composers, and therefore, was the successor to deliver the next big innovation in music. This idea of pushing music forward is not a novel one though; we have long observed similar acts of musical righteousness. Simply consider the first chorus in a symphony as in Beethoven s Ninth, or a requiem text that is not in Latin as in Brahms Ein deutsches Requiem. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The traditional compositional forms sonata, rondo, minuet and trio, etc. depended upon the establishment of a key and a modulation to another key to mark important structural events. Music contemporary with and following Wagner tended to change key far more often. In fact, keys morphed so quickly that it was hard to say whether a tonic had ever been established. Tonic and dominant relationships were lost, structural boundaries were blurred, and listeners were losing themselves in an aural swamp. Schoenberg s solution was to find a means of organization other than tonality. In his quest, he pursued methods dictated by free atonality, by text (Sprechstimme) and ultimately by the twelve tone method. By removing tonality, Schoenberg emphasized the independence of each musical line by the importance of a set of intervals. It was a radically new way of creating and perceiving music, but one cannot emphasize enough that this idea the idea that the norm is insufficient is not new with Schoenberg. Beethoven felt that an orchestra alone was insufficient to deliver the message he envisioned for his Ninth Symphony. Brahms felt that a Latin requiem text was inferior to what would be a largely German speaking audience. And Schoenberg felt that continuing with the commonplace traditions of tonality would suffocate the ideas he wished to communicate. So we return to our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Cost Of A Cell Phone Network On Meaningless Crimes And... All cell phones register their location with cell phone networks several times a minute, and this function cannot be turned off while the phone is getting a wireless signal (Cell Phone Location Tracking Public Records 1). Inmates can be monitored in many different ways, from cell phones to tracking anklets. The Tracking Release Program should be put into effect more than it already is. This change will stop the waste of tax payer s money on meaningless crimes and other people s mistakes. It costs $700.00 a month to house one inmate and the cost of one employee s hourly wage of $10.50 (U.S. Marshal Service 2). Compare the cost to house one inmate to the cost of hiring one employee. The cost is substantially different. By the end, you will have a basic knowledge of how this program will save money and create jobs. First of all, not all inmates should be subjected to prison for their crimes. For example, not every crime is considered high priority, so this would mean they have a misdemeanor. A misdemeanor is a low level case where the person gets prosecuted, but not labeled as a high risk. With a misdemeanor, inmates could be put into the tracking reform program. The people who qualify for this would be breaking and entering, drugs, stalking, and probation for an entry level parole. The program also provides an extra layer of supervision with the goal of enhancing public safety in the community (Jackson 1). This program creates a safety net by monitoring the time and ... The Importance of Chariot Racing for the Romans Essays The Importance of Chariot Racing for the Romans Racing has been a pastime for humans ever since we were able to tame animals and since we have had the technology to allowed us. There are so many forms of racing in the world today that have been shaped through hundreds and thousands of years. What is it that attracts us to racing? Is it the speed, potential crashes or even just the atmosphere? To answer this question many things have to be considered. To start with lets look at the start of the Rome, at the first celebration of the Consualia in honour of Consus (an ancient god of agriculture) the rape of the Sabine Women is believed to have happened. Romulus (founder of Rome) held chariot races ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They had plays, gladiators, sports both aggressive and non aggressive like wrestling and running other than this there was only really music and art. Now think about how many types we have, it is significantly larger than What the Romans had. However, if you ask someone how important say F1 racing was to them they d probably say not too important but that is because we all have different acquired tastes. Back then you had too like what was on offer otherwise you would have nothing! However there was still some resistance to the entertainment on offer to the Romans, Pliny the Younger complains that chariot racing is exactly the same all the time, he then expresses his frustration at the people who do like it because they only like it because of the type of team It wouldn t be so bad if they appreciated the horses speed or drivers skill. But all they see is the colour of the tunic . Some direct evidence of the Roman way of life getting progressively involved in entertainment is that gradually the amount of days dedicated to games per year rose quite significantly. By 100 BC, six games had been held. In total this numbered about forty nine days dedicated to games per year,by the end of the second century the number of days per year had reached one hundred thirty five. • 13. Great Smog Of London And The Scientific Implications In... The Great Smog of London and the Scientific Implications in Today s World Turn of the century London, the emergence of the middle class has forced the cultural bias to shift in favor of more homes, more people, and a lot of energy consumption. Science s solution to the energy crisis is a seemingly perfect one: distribute and utilize a more available fuel. Coal burned slower than wood and therefore kept people and homes warm more resourcefully. For a while it seemed like a miracle solution. The industrialization of the previous age had been using coal as well, and when the air became polluted with the factory and energy refuse, the smog was swept away in a matter of hours (Kilen, C.) That went on until early winter of 1952. That fall had been an unusually cold one, and the coal had been burning day and night. The factories had been chugging on, and the black smoke kept rolling. The process by which factories burn coal is as follows: the coal is blown into the furnace where it burns while still airborne. The heat is used to warm water, which then produces steam, which spines a turbine. The factories that burn coal now use methods to slightly lessen the pollution, such as wet limestone to absorb the sulfur (How Coal Works, Union of Concerned Scientists, p.4). This particular winter, though, the pollutants would not be swept away as they had been in the past. This is due to the fact that on this particularly cold December, an inversion occurred over the city of London. An ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Catholic Church Annotation In a recent event in Rome, Pope Francis was faced with the question on whether he would consider the ordaining of female deacons in the Roman Catholic Church. While addressing the 900 superiors of women s religious orders he vowed that he was in agreement and would consider it. This is a decision that I am in agreement with and feel that it is long overdue for a myriad of reasons. Pope Francis papacy began on March 13, 2013 and he vowed to be open to new and fresh ideas to help the Catholic Church become more appealing to those in the 21st century. In vowing to seriously consider the female deacon he is proving to be true to his word, an item one would believe to be de facto with his position. The immediate support for his mention proved this notion worthy and would generate an immediate ground swell of young Christian women without a denomination to at least take a more serious look at Catholicism and it s teachings. The shear fact that he is even considering this is a huge change in a Church that only recently, with Pope Francis mention, acknowledged the huge role that women play in Catholic life. ... In my experience, I had seen more than 80% of patients are prescribed with antihypertensive drugs in their medical chart. A beta blocker is one of the most common drugs in a geriatric setting especially atenolol. Beta blockers are the standard of therapy for many cardiovascular conditions and it is the main line of treatment in decreasing risk of stroke. According to Ladage, Schwinger, and Brixius (2013) beta blocker was more effective in decreasing mortality and morbidity rate in acute coronary syndrome patients. Atenolol is a water soluble and had longer half lives with non metabolized actions and excreted via the kidneys (Ladage et al., 2013). The exercise capacity increases in patients who are on beta blockers, like bisoprolol, nebivolol, carvedilol (Ladage et al., 2013). It was released in 2011 and directed by Tate Taylor (Taylor, 2017). The Help is set in Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960 s, and it is about the experiences black women had as maids for white families. These women decided to risk it all and tell their stories in an effort to show what is was really like for them (Taylor, 2011). Discrimination Aside from being prejudice toward anyone different from herself, Hilly Holbrook also exemplified discrimination in the story. Discrimination is similar to prejudice, but it is defined as behavior directed against persons because of their membership in a particular group (Kassin, Fein, Markus, 2014). Hilly was prejudice toward Celia, mainly through her own negative beliefs about her. She did not demonstrate many acts of discrimination toward Celia, but she did when it came to the maids. In the beginning of the movie, she was shown in her bathroom marking the toilet paper with a pencil (Taylor, 2011). That was her way of making sure that her maid, which was Minny at the time, did not use their bathroom inside of the house. She had a separate outhouse for Minny to use. An ecumenical council is a conference of Christian bishops in order to resolve current issues affecting the entire church . The councils would publish texts and legislation that would become crucial to the development and operation of Christianity. The Second Vatican Council, or Vatican II, was the most recent ecumenical council. Vatican II is considered to be one of the major events of the twentieth century and impacted not only the church but also the modern world. Vatican II came to be through Pope John XXIII. Pope John expressed his intentions of calling an ecumenical council just three months after his election. This came as a shock to many because Pope John was almost eighty years old at the time and was known by many to be an uncontroversial man. His reasoning behind calling the council was pastoral in nature. This meant that Pope John wanted the council to focus on the lives of believers and their experience of living the faith in the world as it is today . Pope John wanted Vatican II to be a dialogue with those outside the church in order for the church to become more positive and relaxed in modern times. Vatican II made five notable contributions to the reform of the church. Those contributions were the reform of the liturgy, the self understanding of the church as the people of God , relations with other Christian churches and with non Christian religions, the churches ... Effects Of Low Level Disruption On The Classroom Findings from a recent Ofsted report have shown that low level disruption in the classroom is causing pupils to potentially lose up to one hour of learning each day, and that this may have a detrimental impact on their life chances (Ofsted, 2014). Difficulties managing behavior is a commonly reported source of stress and burnout among teachers, and is resulting in a substantial number leaving the profession within 5 years (Ford et al, 2012). Disruptive behaviour is not only stressful for teachers, but it can be unsettling for pupils, can hinder pupils enjoyment of school and can prevent pupils from fulfilling their potential (Gorard, 2010).
