Impact Of Social Media On Tourism
Introduction
Either tourists are searching a flight deal or seeking a hotel for evening accommodation, today, they
are checking out online reviews before making decision. Thus it s no surprise that tourism providers
are keen to post fake ratings on travel websites. Some are even willing to pay for the inauthentic
testimonials to catch people s fancy and preference. As one of the hottest issue in tourism industry,
tourism review manipulation on social media are becoming an increasingly serious concern among
tourists. Especially, the operator and supplier have the ability to manipulate the review and rate
without the appearance of manipulation. Even worse, the issue has generated some ripple effects
rapidly and jeopardise both travellers and tourism providers. Therefore, the essay is going to provide
an overview of this contemporary issue and the current situation, and further illustrate the relevance
between this and other contemporary problems like credit crisis in social media and review sites.
Furthermore, through researching and analysing a number of real life examples, it will reveal the
primary causes behind the issue. More importantly, the essay dedicates to find effective solutions to
stop the problem and its influences from getting worse after conducting a comprehensive analysis.
Last but not least, an integrated conclusion regarding the significant arguments and reflection of the
contemporary issue, as well as the implications for the future review website will

Low Frequency Noise And Its Effects On Community Health
Environment consist of noise from aircraft, motor vehicle, and trains which collectively contribute to
the noise created in the surrounding. In urban setting, car horns, boom cars, car alarms and public
transit system may be the concern. In suburban setting noise pollution can be initiated from leaf
blowers, barking dogs, and other power equipments. adverse health effects appear in relation to total
noise exposure from all sources rather than a single source. Low frequency noise is strong immediate
concern because of its pervasive nature as it arises from multiple sources. Adverse health effects from
low frequency noise are more severe than any other form of community noise. VULNERABLE
GROUPS The vulnerability may be referred to the susceptibility of a person, society, group, society or
system to the physical or emotional injury or attack. Also, it has been described to the degree at which
the people, resources, property system and cultural, environmental and social, and economic activity
are susceptible to harm, destruction or degradation on being exposed to an agent or a factor. Groups at
risk as mentioned in the literature are the children, the elderly, the chronically ill and people with
hearing impairment. The other group of people is those of sensitive persons, shift workers, people
with mental illness like schizophrenia or autism, fetuses and neonates and people suffering from

FFA Journal Summary
Summary:
The following journal article had three purposes; to test whether long term expertise of a certain
subject matter (bird and cars) would have activity in face recognition areas, whether there was an
interaction between the categorization levels and expertise, and finally long term expertise and
categorization levels were tested to see how both depend on identity of stimuli and attention. Previous
studies have found that impairments to the face processing centers of the brain result in the difficulty
of recognizing familiar faces primarily by facial features (De Renzi, 1986). Also previous studies
show that recognition of objects requires the ability to discriminate between certain categories. Also
people may become experts at recognizing certain categories through prolonged ... Show more content

Fifteen subjects showed activity in the right OFA (7 bird experts and 8 car experts). In regards to the
identity and location scans, performance was better in identity than location with a larger effect size
for birds that cars. With regards to ROI s the right and left FFA s showed significant levels of
categorization. Significance was also found between the level and the group in both Fusiform Face
Area s (left and right). No significance was found between cars and birds when activating the FFA s.
Responses to birds were greater than cars in both hemispheres of FFA. Car experts showed less
activation for object categories than bird experts. Bird Experts were more sensitive to faces than car
experts as well as experts being more sensitive to the object of their expertise. The right ventral
temporal cortex and the parahippocampal gyrus were activated more in experts than in those that are
considered non experts. Novices were more active too experts only in a part of the brain superior to
the OFA, a small bilateral region of the lateral occipital

The Ambience Of Shopping Malls
The results of the study reveal that the assortment of stores, sales promotions, ambience of shopping
malls, and comparative economic gains in the malls gather the attention of higher customer traffic to
the malls. The urban shoppers visit shopping malls as a leisure center to relax, tend to shop in
response to various promotions and spend long hours. The major factors that affect shopping
stimulation among urban shoppers are store ambience and attractiveness relating to products and
services, location of the mall, brand value and price and recreational facilities.
Lee et al. (2009)35, in their study entitled Shopping value in online auctions: their antecedents and
outcomes have revealed that it is very rare in the marketing literature concerning the research on store
aspects as potential antecedent among the hedonic and utilitarian shopping value. The association
between utilitarian and hedonic values with the attitude of store trait has been analyzed. The research
was performed in a provincial shopping mall in Midwest of US to determine the satisfaction of
respondents using eighteen shopping malls qualities. Complete items in the malls are reviewed in
order to estimate the attribute of malls in general. The results reveal the existence of positive

The Slippery Snow On The Cold Ice Pack
Today was supposed to be like every other Sunday. No matter what the weather gave us, we got up
bright and early to go to church, and after we went to lunch at OUR FAMILY S DINER. As we were
leaving lunch and heading back into town, we had our music blaring to pop hits as usual. My little
sister and I love to dance in the car while my parents sing a duet, but today we got carried away. My
father was paying more attention to hitting the high note than the flashing railroad lights ahead. By the
time my father touched the brakes, we were far too close to the tracks. The slippery snow on the
ground did not help his attempt to stop before the tracks. Then everything went black. When I woke
up I could feel the cold ice pack against my left temple. Within seconds of my eyes being opened,
nurses came running in to check my monitors. Pain radiated throughout my body. My right wrist and
right leg were covered under a cast, and I had a neck brace around my neck. A thin, blonde nurse in a
blue scrub asked, Good morning, Dear. It s nice to see you re finally awake. How do you feel? Do you
remember anything? No, what happened? How long have I been asleep for? Where s my mom? I
asked impatiently, almost jumping out of my bed. Settle down, Mallory. You were in a horrific train
car crash on Sunday, two days ago. Your parents, Lilly, and you were in the car. You broke your wrist
and fractured your femur. I would like you to wait a couple minutes and then I can take

Negative Portrayals Of Single Parented Parents
Coming from a family with a single parent can become a problem within itself, but with only having
one parent, the child is faced with being an outcast and classified as different than the rest of the
children. When a parent comes from a bad past, society assumes the same for their children. For a
child of these type of parents, it is hard to get out of this situation and defy the odds set on them by
society. In television shows such as Weeds and Mom, there are many examples of these portrayals of
the parents and their children. Negative portrayals in television shows of single parented families
through comedic relief gives the children of these families a negative mindset, while being compared
to these poor depictions in these shows. A child that has went through this traumatic experience will
go through hard times, but will try to look at the positive sides of things that they come to challenge
with. In his book, Psychological well being and quality of parenting among children of single parent
family, Kiran Sahu stated that The psychological well being includes meaning in life, absence of
somatic symptoms, self esteem, positive effect, daily activities, suicidal thoughts, personal control
social support, absence of tension and general efficiency (531). The television show, Weeds, focuses
on a single mother, Nancy Bloom, who has an early bad depiction in the show. After her husband,
Judah, dies unexpectedly, Nancy has to take the center position in her family. After becoming faced
with financial problems after her husband s death and dark past coming back to haunt the family,
Nancy has to become a drug dealer for her neighborhood and family to survive. Nancy is having to
deal with these financial struggles and taking care of her three children: Silas, Shane, and Steven. With
having both of their parents in the negative spotlight of the community, these children have a hard
time trying to reach success in their city. With the death of Judah and having their mom to rely on,
each child acts in different ways. Silas, the oldest, was devastated when his father Judah died, and he
took his emotions out on everyone and started depending on drugs to forget about it. In season 1,
episode 10 of Weeds, Silas is shown

The Religious Message Of The Book Of Esther In The Bible
In the study of the Old Testament, one often comes up with the question of why the Book of Esther is
included in the canon even though there is no mention of God throughout the whole story. However,
since the Jews accepted it in the Hebrew Bible, many scholars wonder whether God did inspire the
writing of the story of Esther the Queen. Perhaps a more intriguing and fundamental question is: What
are some aspects of the story that express the religious messages in the teaching of the Bible? In fact,
scholars have answered this question with various opinions over time. The story of Esther was often
seen as so entertaining, so comical, and so subtle that to speak of its message can be profoundly
misleading (Levenson 12). Like most theological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As for the Book of Esther, there are four significant religious messages those same messages that
could be found anywhere else in the Hebrew canon that are worth looking into to understand why the
book is included in the Old Testament as well as why it is believed to be inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Throughout the empowerment of Queen Esther and the victory of the Jews against their enemies, the
Book of Esther teaches the danger of pleasing oneself, the responsibilities of higher authority, the
irony of fate and the faith in God s sovereignty. Before exploring the religious messages of the Book
of Esther to prove that the book is in fact inspired by the Holy Spirit, it is worth looking into the
historical and cultural settings of the story. The story is believed to be written in the Diaspora, late in
the Persian era, about 100 years after the Babylonian exile. The book is within the Five Megillot of
Jewish Scripture (along with the Book of Ruth, the Book of

Romeo And Juliet Love
Ever since Romeo and Juliet was written, people have debated whether it was written to be a love
story or a tragedy. The play is centered around a romantic relationship, which may cause some to
believe it to be a love story. However, Romeo and Juliet show tragic themes as well as themes of love.
This play can be considered both, but even so, it shows more elements of being a tragedy than a love
story. In the just prologue alone, the play establishes the fate of our main characters, Romeo and Juliet.
The sentences, A pair of star cross d lovers take their life;/Whose misadventured piteous

Physician Assistant Job Application Essay
Career I Search Part One The career I became interested in is a Physician s Assistant, or a few people
call them PAs. I became interested in this job in my sophomore year of high school. It all started when
I attended the STEM fair after school one day. STEM fair is only offered to students who are in either
the biomedical Stem academy or the engineer academy. At this fair, students tour around to different
classrooms to acquire information on different careers. I attended the Physician s Assistant one, where
there was an actual PA to give information on what PAs achieve. For example, PAs examine patients
for diseases, injuries and illnesses. After an hour long talk about this career I became very interested in

Scarlet Letter Analysic- Form, Plot, Tone, Essay
Scarlet Letter Analysis
Form, Structure and Plot: The structure that Hawthorne puts the Scarlet Letter is very tight, and is in
essentially three parts, each revolving around the scaffold. The first scaffold scene, Hester confesses
her sin of adultery to the crowd in the light of day. The second scaffold scene takes place in the middle
of the book at night; it is the climax of the plot. Dimmesdale climbs onto the scaffold, and asks for
Hester and Pearl to join him. This is not a confession, as there are no witnesses, except for
Chillington. The third scaffold scene is at the end of the novel. Here, Dimmesdale is on the scaffold,
with Hester and Pearl. It is light out, and they are speaking to a crowd. Here, Dimmesdale confesses
his sin. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His face darkened with some powerful emotion, which, nevertheless, he instantaneously controlled by
an effort of his will, that, save at a singly moment, its expression might have passed for calmness. The
majority of the sentence is secondary structure. There are two primary his face darkened and he
controlled. The primary structure allows us to understand what is happening at the moment, while the
secondary allows us to see an image of what Hawthorne was trying to get across cynicism. With the
first part of the sentence his face darkened with some powerful emotion , he can imagine his
expression growing into a scowl, the air around him darkening as he meets eyes with Hester.
Tone: The tone in The Scarlet Letter is moralizing, impassioned, formal, and skeptical. The narrator of
the story pretends to be unbiased, although it is blatantly obvious he does not think highly of Puritans.
He often spends one to two paragraphs discussing the problems he has with Puritan society, or a law
that had effect at the time.

Lack of evenly distributed prosperity in Durham has been at the forefront of the mayoral election.
Martin posed a question to the candidates regarding the city s growth but inability of citizens to reap
the benefits of its development; and how they would handle this if elected as mayor. Ali readily
responded, As we see growth in our city occurring, making sure we have policy for inclusion is
important and added an antedote about the drastic improvements his non profit, working in
conjunction with the city of Durham, had on minority and women owned firms, underscoring his
experience and enthusiasm to help all of Durham. Ali finally noted that I elected, his goal is prosperity
not just for the big people or the companies or the organizations that we are contracting with, but to
make sure that we are able to spread that around so that other people can participate in this prosperity .
Martin asked the candidates about affordable housing in Durham. They all agreed that gentrification is
an issue inhibiting community growth. Schewel emphasized that there is no issue that is more
important in Durham right now . He explained the need to preserve programs like the Durham
Housing Authority that shelter over 6,000 vulnerable people and tax relief for those in poverty trying
to keep their homes. He concluded his response simply with we can make a difference .

Mediation Stay Neutral And Remain Neutral
Introduction
Facilitative mediation is one of the sub types of the problem solving method, deriving from to
facilitate or to mediate between two parties, its style largely used from the 1960 70s it is one of the
original models which was generally and extensively used in the USA. The intent is to critically gauge
this style of mediation, and weigh arguments for and against, to analyse if the model is relevant today.
Questioning can this style of mediation stay neutral and remain in a guidance format only or does it

Some mediators have classified themselves either facilitative or evaluative or in between depending
on the parties circumstance. However, Riskins conception of this grid was to try and make some sense
of the mediator s approach, can the facilitative mediator stay fixed in their style. The grid illustrated a
meeting point of two lines; one representing the mediator s concept of his role, and the other the
mediator s approach to the problem. When these two lines intersect, there are four quadrants which
represent different mediation situations. Riskin stated that the four quadrants each represent a general
location toward mediation: evaluative narrow, facilitative narrow, evaluative broad and facilitative
broad.
The Facilitative Narrow mediator will use past cases, skill and strategies in order to help the parties be
realistic about their conflict, underlining their strengths and weaknesses, and credible outcomes, using
experience, and techniques learned in order to bring focus back to a discussion. They will not asses or
offer suggestions, and allow the parties through shared interest to develop open discussion to reaching
mutual agreement, but will offer guidance on their legal positions and the concerns of non settlement.
The Facilitative Broad mediator tries to find options to help the parties express and relate to their
dispute and empower them to share interests in order to resolve any impasse. This can give

Compare And Contrast Egypt And Greek Clothing
Aren t ancient Greece and ancient Egypt such wonderful civilizations?
Ancient Greece formed in the year 1200 BC while ancient Egypt formed in the year 3100 BC. Ancient
Egypt is known for their large pyramids, the Nile River, pharaohs, artwork, and their accessories.
Ancient Greece is known for their mythology, their simple fashion sense, an early form of the
olympics, Alexander the Great, and The Persian War. Ancient Egypt and ancient Greece are very
unique in their own way. Greece and Egypt both had ancient civilizations, but they differ in their
clothing/appearance and their jobs.
Foremost, the people of ancient Greece were very concerned with their clothing and their appearance.

Almost all of the Egyptians clothing was made of linen. Out of the linen, men commonly wore kilts
while women wore dresses with two straps attached. Although, they usually left the linen their natural

when the pharaoh Ahmose came into ruling, clothing began to get more complicated. They had robes
with a pleated linen design that laid against the body elegantly. For special events both men and
women wore short medium length wigs. No matter your age or your gender, jewelry was a must! One
of the most iconic things of ancient egypt is how the rich wore eyeliner around their eyes that is made

The two theories I will utilize from this course in order to explain my patient s behavior are the
psychodynamic theory and the systems theory.
Theories to Explain Behavior The psychodynamic theory would explain an individual s personality in
terms of conscious and unconscious forces, such as unconscious desires and beliefs. In the early 20th
century, Sigmund Freud proposed the psychodynamic theory consists of the id (accountable for
instincts and pleasure seeking), the superego (attempts to submit to the rules of parents and society),
and the ego (which facilitates between the id and superego according to the stresses of reality)
(Cherry, n.d.). Psychodynamic theories believe childhood experiences shape a person s personality.
The systems theory would focus on the micorsystems, which are the interpersonal relations
experienced by the developing person. Amy s challenge will also be explained through her
mesosystem, this would be the linkage and processes that take place between two or more setting
containing the developing person (ST article ). Lastly through the systems theory Amy s challenge
will be analyzed through her macrosystem which is a societal blueprint for a particular culture. (ST

Essay on Decomposition and Recycling in Aquatic Ecosystems
Introduction
Biogeochemical cycles are important to the sustainability of all life. Chemical elements necessary for
the growth and reproduction of all organisms have a limited quantity on earth at any one time, other
than the occasional meteor that brings with it new matter. It is therefore important that the recycling of
these chemical elements is efficient. Autotrophs are the basis of almost all ecosystems. The rate that
autotrophs produce and transfer energy is vital to the capacity of organisms that can inhabit these
ecosystems. To understand the rates in which certain species leaves decay and release the energy
stored within them can demonstrate how quickly the energy becomes available to organisms in higher
trophic levels. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Understanding The Unconscious Meanings Behind Individuals
Introduction Individuals belong in a lot of different groups and settings in their lives and their ability
to function well within these settings it is important for their wellbeing but also for the growth of the
organisation itself. As potential therapists who are going to work with people within organisations it is
important to understand the unconscious meanings behind individuals behaviours and the mechanisms
that individuals and organisations use to deal with their anxieties. As humans and organisations use
similar ways to defend themselves from similar anxieties, in this Essay I will describe some of these
ways. I will first talk about what anxiety is from a psychoanalytic perspective and then I will talk
about the defensive mechanism of projection as it is a mechanism that occur in the ways that
individuals deal with anxiety but is also a mechanism that groups use to deal with their anxieties in the
organisations. To make projection clearer I will give an example from own personal life. I will
continue by describing defences that occur in social systems and I will do that by using the Bion s
social defences against anxiety. I will move on to describe Melanie s Klein concepts of persecutory
anxiety and depressive anxiety as they are concepts that relate to Jaque s social defence system which
is a concept that describes how individuals use organisations deal with their anxieties. I will attempt to
make these theories clearer by giving an example from my own

Classifying Ancient Asia
Asian archaeology has distinct variety of hominid and hominoid from the Pleistocene, unusual
subsistence adaptations from the Holocene, and simple complex polities. Carl Sauer, an American
geographer, was one of the first scholars to note Asia as a source for the genesis of agriculture: some
of the earliest domesticated plants were found in Asia. The earliest pottery also appeared more than
12,000 years ago Jomon huntergatherers in Japan . Yet Asia s uniqueness does not make it
incomparable to developments elsewhere in the Old and New Worlds; understanding Asia s ancient
histories is important for the elaboration of developments across the Eurasian continent. Most Koreans
(both Northerners and Southerners) believe that their people came from a first ancestor, Tangun, who
was brought to the world by a female bear and Hwantung, the son of heaven; and the recent discovery
of the eighty six bone fragments in that date to 5001 B.P. in Pyongyang (alleged to be those of Tan gun

The Arguments In The Downside Of Grit, By Alfie Kohn
The idea of grit is to be used to help students improve on goals they ve made, but in the The Downside
of Grit by Alfie Kohn he would argue that somethings are better left alone instead of trying to pursue
them and achieving them with little success. Kohn claims that grit can be counterproductive because
anyone could be continuing something that doesn t make them content with the outcome. He also
discusses about how people with grit could experience issues with psychological health when you try
over and over again and end up with continuous failure. It would be better to find an alternative
pathway that would cause less stress, and end with success. Another argument that Kohn has is against

He also approaches the idea of creating a learning environment that help students explore ideas. This

through with a goal they might not enjoy. Kohn makes it clear that you shouldn t go through with a
goal if it doesn t give you satisfaction. Kohn also states that the motives of your goal should come first
before you take action. Kohn states that grit is applied more to students than adults for completing
academic goals, but fails to mention how grit can be applied outside of school. Alfie Kohn explains
that there is no point in continuing with a problem that has no solution, just like how you shouldn t

Existentialism In Hamlet
Hamlet is widely regarded as one of William Shakespeare s most famous and best written tragedies.
Its importance to history, due in part to the fact that the introspection of the main character upon his
dilemmas was rarely addressed in other popular plays, is felt to this day. Similar to the likes of Romeo
and Juliet, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Othello, King Lear, and other Shakespearean tragedies, it has been
the subject of much critical analysis and literary review from many approaches. In this essay, the
historic, existentialist, traditional revenge tragedy, psychoanalytic, and archetypal approaches will be
used to understand the tragedy of Hamlet. The time period in which the play was written is known as
either the English Renaissance or the Early Modern Era. The existence of both names seems to prove
that Hamlet was penned in a period of transition for England, and the characters within the tragedy all
but confirm this conjecture. Hamlet, the titular character, represents the modern half of the transition,
acquiring an education from a city where the transition was most prominent, while Claudius represents
the medieval half, claiming and subsequently abusing the traditional position of king through means of
betrayal and secrecy (Bernath 220). The time period also suggests that the introspection of the main
character upon his dilemma s in such a way as to question his own existence initially had an incredible
resonance with audiences, as such commentary on the human

A Lecture On International Sustainable Tourism
Triple Bottom Line
During a lecture in International Sustainable Tourism, we discussed the Triple Bottom Line or Triple
Bottom Line Reporting, which means expanding the traditional reporting framework to take into
account environmental and social performance in addition to financial performance. This framework
is becoming an accepted approach for organizations to demonstrate they have strategies for
Sustainable Growth. It focuses on decision making and reporting, which explicitly considers an
organization s economic, environmental and social performance. Triple Bottom Line focuses on
Stakeholders instead of Shareholders. A Stakeholder is a person, group, or organization who has an
interest or concern in an organization. In this essay, I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that there is technically a Social Environmental pillar which relates to Environmental
Justice, Natural Resources Stewardship, and Acting Locally, Thinking Globally; A Environmental
Economic pillar which highlights Energy Efficiency, Subsidies, and Incentives for use of Natural

Workers Rights. Right smack dab in the middle of the circle graph is Sustainability. When all three
pillars are in play, Sustainability happens.
Moving on, there are three set goal principals for the Triple Bottom Line and they all three relate back
to the three pillars. The goal for the Social pillar is to have Vibrant Communities, where an
organization has a responsibility to its employees and to the wider community in which it works. The
company understands how its practice affects the workers and strives to promote their best interests.
The goal for the Environmental pillar is a Healthy Environment by reducing the environmental
footprint. Finally, the goal for the Economic pillar is Profit. The Triple Bottom line recognizes that
business sustainability rests on social and environmental settings. The cost of pollution, worker
displaces, and other factors and is included into a profit calculation.
When it comes to the mechanics of the Triple Bottom Line, there is no universal standard to calculate

following topics are addressed in this paper:
1. Definition of Multi National Corporation
2. Cultures and Norms
3. Management Style and Culture Shock
4. Management Style of a Multi National Corporation : Toyota Motors
5. Ethical and Economic challenges faced

From a management view, global workforce is diversified and unchartered territory since every
country, even in the same region, is different. For example, Singapore is in the same region as
Malaysia but its labor laws and business norms are different. A modern thinking management must be
aware of the cultural differences, customs, geographic needs, governmental trade requirements and
even gender biases in some countries. An example of this would be workers in Bangladesh may
oppose a female supervisor. Managers also need to understand the customs, policies, politics and
history of the foreign country; and the religious practices of a foreign country for example in Brunei or
Malaysia the observance of Ramadan and Friday is prayer day.
Managers interested in venturing into the global market should be aware of the best way to approach
global demographics from a business to consumer perspective, taking an international product or
service and localizing it successfully. Source: Boundless. The Challenge of Globalization. (Boundless

Example Of A Christian Research Paper
A Christian is a person who adheres to Christianity, an Abrahamic, monotheistic religion based on the
life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Christian derives from the Koine Greek word Christós, a translation
of the Biblical Hebrew term mashiach.
There are diverse interpretations of Christianity which sometimes conflict. However, Whatever else
they might disagree about, Christians are at least united in believing that Jesus has a unique
significance. It is also used as a label to identify people who associate with the cultural aspects of
Christianity, irrespective of personal religious beliefs or practices.
According to a 2011 Pew Research Center survey, there were 2.2 billion Christians around the world
in 2010, up from about 600 million in 1910. According to 100 Years of Nobel Prizes, a review of
Nobel prizes awarded between 1901 and 2000 reveals that of Nobel Prizes laureates identified
Christianity in its various forms as their religious preference.
Etymology
The Greek word, meaning follower of Christ , comes from, meaning anointed one , with an adjectival
ending borrowed from Latin to denote adhering to, or even belonging to, as in slave ownership. In the
Greek Septuagint, christos was used to translate the Hebrew ‫יַח‬ ‫ִׁש‬‫ָמ‬, meaning anointed. In other
European languages, equivalent words to Christian are likewise derived from the Greek, such as
Chrétien in French and Cristiano in Spanish.
Early usage
The first recorded use of the term is in the New

The True Meaning Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
In Shakespeare s romantic and powerful play Romeo and Juliet, the two main characters, Romeo
Montague and Juliet Capulet, share a love at first sight moment at a very young age; in no time, their
bond becomes unbreakable. Shakespeare clearly and eloquently emphasizes their love throughout the
play by using poetic writing and literary devices to show how these two come together and their
attraction becomes stronger as the play progresses. Today, most young loves seem to not get the true
meaning of love that Shakespeare so strongly poses in Romeo and Juliet and think that just being
together for a long time or having a great deal of pleasure is considered love . The passionate love that
both Romeo and Juliet experience at such a young age through Shakespeare s writing seems
outlandish to most young, immature readers today; however, although rare, with responsibility,
maturity, and true affection, such love is still possible in this day and age. Today, love is such a
commonly used word it almost feels as if people do not even realize what they are mean when they
use the word. People seem to use the term for not just their own lovers or family members the main
things that we should love but materialistic things such as phones, presents, and other rather
meaningless temporary things in our everyday lives. People all over the world hear other people
saying I love this and I love that, and do not recognize that they do not know what they are truly
saying.

High School Teachers Pros And Cons
Roughly 2.3 million public school teachers in the United States have tenure the right to academic
freedom, without the threat of being fired for unjust reasons. In 1910, New Jersey became the first
state to pass tenure legislation for college professors, around the time when women s suffrage
movements were gaining momentum across the country. Before tenure, female professors were fired
for getting married or getting pregnant or even wearing pants such rights were later extended to
elementary and high school teachers as well. (2). But while gaining tenure for college professors

New York resident Angeles Barragan said that her daughter fell behind due to an incompetent teacher
who didn t assign homework and didn t help her child learn to read. (3) Now, Barragan s daughter is
repeating second grade due mostly to the ineffectiveness of her child s teacher. In the recent court
case, Vergara v. California, a California judge ruled that the state s laws governing teacher tenure [are]
unconstitutional, saying they interfere with the state s obligation to provide every child with access to
a good education. (4). The court case brought forth compelling evidence as to why the tenure system
needs to be either eliminated completely, or radically changed. The evidence showed that the failure of
schools to weed out underperforming teachers led to the pairing of the grossly ineffective teachers
with the poor and minority students, who were already underperforming. (3) This has been deemed
unconstitutional because it violates students rights to the equality of education. Students in poor areas
are forced with some ineffective teachers who cannot be fired because of their tenure, leading to lower
test scores and, on average, lower graduation rates. In another example, parents in New York are
eagerly trying to send their students to Charter Schools, in an effort to avoid bad teachers that
ultimately lead to their students performing significantly lower than they should be. (The

Ethical Implications Of Disclosure
Ethical Implications of Disclosure and Nondisclosure
Being an advanced practice nurse is a huge responsibility. The profession itself is advancing and with
the Affordable Care Act moral, ethical and legal considerations of providing care as an advanced
practice nurse have increased exponentially. Ethical standards for nurse practitioner are defined in the
American Nurses Code of Ethics. Ethical standard are based largely on the individual nurse beliefs.
Because ethics are not a clear cut science, the handling certain situations are defined by state laws.
The purpose if this paper is to consider ethical and legal implications of revealing a prescribing
mistake to a patient who has no knowledge that a mistake exist.
Ethical Implications
Nurses have a responsibility to understand and operate with the confines of the law concerning
medications. However the responsibility does not end at the law there are also ethical, moral if you
will, implications. Writing prescription for patients is an integral part of providing care for patients in
today s society (Arcangelo Peterson, 2013). Ethical concerns with prescription writing include
understanding medications and ensuring that individual prescribers take responsibility for the care
they each provide. The American Nurses Association Code of Ethics Provision 3 (2015), indicates that
the nurse will promote, advocates, and protect the rights, health, and safety of the patient. This means
that when a nurse realizes a mistake has

RE: Old Mule Farms The Old Mule Farms is a cow calf operation that provides calves for feedlots to
fatten up before being sent to packing houses and eventually sold as meet for consumers. The current
owners have been experiencing a problem with losses in revenue. The expenses that Old Mule Farms

Taking into consideration that the weight of the cows is a key driver of calf weight, which in turn is
the key driver of revenue.
An Old Mule Farms average cow weight ranges between 1000 lbs. and 1400 lbs. My recommendation
is that if they were to eliminate the lighter and heavier 40% of cows respectively, Old Mill Farms
would have heavier calves to sell, resulting in higher revenues. This would also reduce expenses each
of the heavier cows has been causing. This recommended approach will substantially reduce the
expenses incurred by heavier cows, and increase the calf sell weight produced by the lighter cows. The
best approach to measuring the proper size of a cow is to use the primary key driver of cow weight
and compare the value of a calf to the cost of maintaining a cow. The principle of diminishing
marginal productivity states that as one input in the production process is increased, there will be a
point in which the addition of an input will result in smaller and smaller benefit. We can relate this
principle with the weight of cows. As more nutrients, minerals, and forage is added to a cow the more
a cow weighs. This in turn results in heavier calves. However, when a cow begins to weigh over 1200
lbs. the weight of calves diminishes. When taking in to account the principle of diminishing marginal
utility, Old Mill Farms would be able to eliminate their losses by restricting their cow weight to 1200

Rhetorical Analysis Of Air Bud
The first word is pathos, this is an emotional appeal used to persuade and convince audience by their
emotional feelings. In this movie, this appeal has been used widely. When Josh loses his father, he is
saddened and depressed to the extent that he assimilates himself during Basketball training sessions.
The situation is worsened when the owner of the dog, Norm, repossesses it. Although the dog was
rightfully Norm s, the audience would be persuaded to side with Josh when he sneaks into Norm s
residence and steals the dog (Ebert). This is further backed by the fact that the audience is already
aware of the cruelty of Norm. To the audience s expectations, Buddy further chooses Josh as it owner.
I do believe this is the best end.
The second word is the ethos. This is an appeal that is used to convince the audience of the credibility
of a character or movie. It entails choosing of proper vocabulary, topic or theme to be featured in such
contexts. In this movie, Air bud , the audience is presented with a dog that perfectly plays Basketball.
In fact, Buddy makes twelve shots without missing a single one in the entire movie. Honestly, this is a
skill that even the professional players would envy. This skill by the dog therefore creates its
worthiness in the school basketball team, something the audience would agree with. It is important to
note that in the absence of the dog, the school team is losing terribly. It s not a wonder therefore that
Buddy leads the team to win

On the other hand, excessive drinking of beet juice may cause a build up of iron, phosphorus, and

Stomach and colon cancer are two which may respond well to beet juice, by helping inhibit the

Drinking beet juice regularly may also help with piles, constipation, anemia, diarrhea, and gout.
You may find relief from varicose veins and spider veins, drinking organic beet juice. It is good for

Nathaniel Hawthorne Research Paper
Nathaniel Hawthorne: a radical writer.
Nathaniel Hawthorne was born on July 4th from 1804, and he died on May 9th from 1864. Hawthorne

Diction In Doris Lessing s A Woman On A Roof
Through her remarkable short story titled A Woman on a Roof, Doris Lessing is able to present the
idea that a man s general disdain for women he doesn t have immediate access to may stem from an
initial rejection. Lessing uses devices such as crisp diction and subtle irony placed carefully
throughout her story to accurately convey this problematic and very relevant topic not only during the
1960s, but also today. To begin, Lessing describes a scene that is quite easy to picture due to her
heavily descriptive diction. She uses words such as steamed, sizzled, smoking, and scorching, which
makes it so that the audience can practically feel the heat of the summer day. This description of the
temperature also seems to set up the tense or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the end, Tom finally gathers up enough courage to speak with his love, but he is rejected...Not just
rejected, but almost completely ignored. The tension and discomfort within this encounter can be seen
when Lessing writes, She lay there. He stood there. She said nothing. She had simply shut him out. He
stood, saying nothing at all, for some minutes. The high contrast between Tom s embellished and
unrealistic version of the woman and her actual self causes him to become heartbroken. As mentioned
before, Lessing is attempting to show that in some situations, when a man does not have instant access
to a woman, he develops feelings of hatred toward her. In Tom s fantasies, he always had this access,
and she could be anyone he wanted her to be. When she doesn t exhibit elation at the sound of his
proposal, he feels betrayed. This is an example of irony, as Tom had expected the woman to act as she
did in his dreams, but she ended up doing the complete opposite and letting him down. A Woman on a
Roof ends by describing Tom s downfall and his drunkenness (and, based on Lessing s wordplay, it is
intentionally unclear whether he is literally drunk or if he is metaphorically drunk off of the hatred he
feels for the woman). It seems as if, at this point, Tom has essentially turned into Stanley. Tom started
off harboring only feelings of admiration and love for the woman, but he eventually holds the same
opinions of Stanley s that he once couldn t

today. It started by introducing a middle aged lady who was struggling with the loss of her unborn
child and provided a test that could help identify her challenges and assist with a treatment.
Subsequently, this essay provided commentary on four separate articles, which discussed the uses of
personality testing within an organizational setting and the United States military. In addition, this
essay discussed legislation concerning psychological tests throughout different states in the United
States and the impact of not having the correct title and license in order to administer the tests and
assessments to those in need. This essay also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Tamora And Lavinia And Women In Titus Andronicus
Tamora and Lavinia, the two main female characters in Titus Andronicus, have to put up others
underestimating them, but both women prove they are capable of taking matters into their own hands

and guides it with her stumps and writes. Stuprum. Chiron, Demetrius (4.1 SD), Lavinia finds a way

History of Portraiture Essay example
History of Portraiture
Portraiture is a visual representation of an individual people, distinguished by references to the subject
s character, social position, wealth, or profession.
Portraitists often strive for exact visual likenesses. However, although the viewer s correct
identification of the sitter is of primary importance, exact replication is not always the goal. Artists
may intentionally alter the appearance of their subjects by embellishing or refining their images to
emphasize or minimize particular qualities (physical, psychological, or social) of the subject. Viewers
sometimes praise most highly those images that seem to look very little like the sitter because these
images are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Romans were expert in rendering individuals. Some scholars have argued that it was the practice
of making and keeping death masks of ancestors (worn by survivors in the funeral processions) that
accounts for the enormous skill with which Roman portraitists captured the individuality of their
subjects. Many portrait busts survive, including images of Roman rulers as well as poignant
representations of aged citizens. Especially noteworthy are the mummy portraits from the region of Al
Fayyūm in Egypt. Painted during the 2nd century ad, these portraits depict individuals who stare
wide eyed at the viewer. These slightly simplified representations of staring subjects anticipate the
severity and frontal orientation of early medieval portraits.
The Renaissance marked a turning point in the history of portraiture. Partly out of interest in the
natural world and partly out of interest in the classical cultures of ancient Greece and Rome,
portraits both painted and sculpted were given an important role in Renaissance society.
In the Netherlands, Jan van Eyck was a leading portraitist; The Arnolfini Marriage (1434, National
Gallery, London) is a detailed full length portrait of a couple. Leading German portrait artists include
Hans Holbein the Younger and Albrecht Dürer.
During the baroque and rococo periods (17th century and 18th century, respectively),

Why Was The Civil War Important
Missa Suder History 144 Professor O Hara 7/12/15 One of the biggest and most well known wars in
American history is the Civil War. The Civil War determined what type of nation the United States
would be. It helped determine that all men are created with equal rights and we all have an equal right
to freedom. Right after the Civil war the Reconstruction era began. The Republicans argued with each
other over who controlled what during the Reconstruction. During this period the South whites started
to resist any knew changes that were trying to be made. The Republicans had a strategic plan for the

Being A 17 Year Old Fugitive
Being a 17 year old fugitive is not exactly what I had planned, but for now I just need to focus on
staying alive and on the run. I can never go back home because my mother would never look at me the
same if she new what I had done. Everyone in the town of Seattle knows what I look like; they would
turn me into the authorities in a matter of seconds. Plastered all over the city are WANTED posters. I,
River Martin, can never show my face again. My only option is to leave and never look back. My
lungs are on fire, I feel like I have been running for hours. My legs feel like jello. Why did I not do
this a long time ago? The adrenaline boost is so fulfilling. I will never go back. Just a few more steps
and I have to make it to the treeline, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is like I am there too, singing and smiling along with her. Then she s gone. I wake up with crusty
eyelids from the dry tears of the night before. Standing over is an animal licking my face. I jolt up to
see a dog right in front of me and in the distance I see a state trooper running over to me. How did
they find me? I knew I should have kept running. I feel my walls collapsing inside of me. The trooper
is to me now and begins to say, River Martin, you are a wanted fugitive and you have the right to
remain silent... I had stopped listening after he said my name. Once inside of the trooper s vehicle, he
kept asking me questions like, Do you know why you are wanted? or Do you have any idea what they
are going to do to you? I was too stunned to even comprehend.
As I looked out the window, I noticed that we were driving straight through the city and heading
toward the airport. I have never been so nervous in my life, I did not believe that what I had done was
such a horrible thing. What would the authorities do to me? I am not too sure I want to find out, but I
am positive that I will be finding out soon. We pulled up to the main entrance right outside the airport;
the trooper handed me off to two men dressed in suits and we boarded a plane headed to Washington
D.C.. On the plane, I sat in between these two men and no one said a word. A few hours later, we
make it to D.C. and drive to the Pentagon. For a young girl like

Electricity Is A Natural Phenomenon
Electricity is the directional flow of electrons between atoms. Electricity is a natural phenomenon and
is one of the most commonly utilized forms of energy. Electricity is used in order to do work, such as
generating heat and light. Electricity is measured in watts. Watts are the measurement of power
(current * voltage). Current is the flow of electrons measured in amperes (Amps). One ampere is the
amount of current when one coulomb (6.25 x 10^18 electrons) of charge moves past a point over one
second. Voltage is the force that causes electrons to move in a circuit. A volt is defined as the
electrostatic difference between two points when one joule of energy is used to move one coulomb of
charge from one point to the other. (NDT Resource Center, 2013) A joule is the measurement of
energy that is used when one watt of power does work for one second (also known as watt seconds).
When measuring electricity in large numbers, the standard unit of measurement is kilowatt hour. This
determines the rate at which energy is being used, and how energy is quantified in the United States.
One kilowatt hour is equivalent to 3,412.14163 British Thermal Units (BTU s). One BTU is the
amount of energy required to heat one pound of water by 1°F (Princeton, 2013).
The current method of energy generation is from burning fossil fuels to generate electricity. However,
this method is inefficient because most of the energy invested in burning fossil fuels is converted into
heat instead of

  • 2. Impact Of Social Media On Tourism Introduction Either tourists are searching a flight deal or seeking a hotel for evening accommodation, today, they are checking out online reviews before making decision. Thus it s no surprise that tourism providers are keen to post fake ratings on travel websites. Some are even willing to pay for the inauthentic testimonials to catch people s fancy and preference. FFA Journal Summary Summary: The following journal article had three purposes; to test whether long term expertise of a certain subject matter (bird and cars) would have activity in face recognition areas, whether there was an interaction between the categorization levels and expertise, and finally long term expertise and categorization levels were tested to see how both depend on identity of stimuli and attention. Previous studies have found that impairments to the face processing centers of the brain result in the difficulty of recognizing familiar faces primarily by facial features (De Renzi, 1986). • 6. The Slippery Snow On The Cold Ice Pack Today was supposed to be like every other Sunday. No matter what the weather gave us, we got up bright and early to go to church, and after we went to lunch at OUR FAMILY S DINER. As we were leaving lunch and heading back into town, we had our music blaring to pop hits as usual. My little sister and I love to dance in the car while my parents sing a duet, but today we got carried away. My father was paying more attention to hitting the high note than the flashing railroad lights ahead. By the time my father touched the brakes, we were far too close to the tracks. The slippery snow on the ground did not help his attempt to stop before the tracks. Then everything went black. When I woke up I could feel the cold ice pack against my left temple. Within seconds of my eyes being opened, nurses came running in to check my monitors. Pain radiated throughout my body. My right wrist and right leg were covered under a cast, and I had a neck brace around my neck. A thin, blonde nurse in a blue scrub asked, Good morning, Dear. It s nice to see you re finally awake. How do you feel? Do you remember anything? No, what happened? How long have I been asleep for? Where s my mom? I asked impatiently, almost jumping out of my bed. Settle down, Mallory. • 7. Negative Portrayals Of Single Parented Parents Coming from a family with a single parent can become a problem within itself, but with only having one parent, the child is faced with being an outcast and classified as different than the rest of the children. When a parent comes from a bad past, society assumes the same for their children. For a child of these type of parents, it is hard to get out of this situation and defy the odds set on them by society. In television shows such as Weeds and Mom, there are many examples of these portrayals of the parents and their children. Negative portrayals in television shows of single parented families through comedic relief gives the children of these families a negative mindset, while being compared to these poor depictions in these shows. A child that has went through this traumatic experience will go through hard times, but will try to look at the positive sides of things that they come to challenge with. In his book, Psychological well being and quality of parenting among children of single parent family, Kiran Sahu stated that The psychological well being includes meaning in life, absence of somatic symptoms, self esteem, positive effect, daily activities, suicidal thoughts, personal control social support, absence of tension and general efficiency (531). The television show, Weeds, focuses on a single mother, Nancy Bloom, who has an early bad depiction in the show. After her husband, Judah, dies unexpectedly, Nancy has to take the center position in her family. After becoming faced with financial problems after her husband s death and dark past coming back to haunt the family, Nancy has to become a drug dealer for her neighborhood and family to survive. Nancy is having to deal with these financial struggles and taking care of her three children: Silas, Shane, and Steven. With having both of their parents in the negative spotlight of the community, these children have a hard time trying to reach success in their city. With the death of Judah and having their mom to rely on, each child acts in different ways. Silas, the oldest, was devastated when his father Judah died, and he took his emotions out on everyone and started depending on drugs to forget about it. • 8. The Religious Message Of The Book Of Esther In The Bible In the study of the Old Testament, one often comes up with the question of why the Book of Esther is included in the canon even though there is no mention of God throughout the whole story. However, since the Jews accepted it in the Hebrew Bible, many scholars wonder whether God did inspire the writing of the story of Esther the Queen. Perhaps a more intriguing and fundamental question is: What are some aspects of the story that express the religious messages in the teaching of the Bible? In fact, scholars have answered this question with various opinions over time. The story of Esther was often seen as so entertaining, so comical, and so subtle that to speak of its message can be profoundly misleading (Levenson 12). Like most theological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As for the Book of Esther, there are four significant religious messages those same messages that could be found anywhere else in the Hebrew canon that are worth looking into to understand why the book is included in the Old Testament as well as why it is believed to be inspired by the Holy Spirit. Throughout the empowerment of Queen Esther and the victory of the Jews against their enemies, the Book of Esther teaches the danger of pleasing oneself, the responsibilities of higher authority, the irony of fate and the faith in God s sovereignty. Before exploring the religious messages of the Book of Esther to prove that the book is in fact inspired by the Holy Spirit, it is worth looking into the historical and cultural settings of the story. The two theories I will utilize from this course in order to explain my patient s behavior are the psychodynamic theory and the systems theory. Theories to Explain Behavior The psychodynamic theory would explain an individual s personality in terms of conscious and unconscious forces, such as unconscious desires and beliefs. In the early 20th century, Sigmund Freud proposed the psychodynamic theory consists of the id (accountable for instincts and pleasure seeking), the superego (attempts to submit to the rules of parents and society), and the ego (which facilitates between the id and superego according to the stresses of reality) (Cherry, n.d.). Psychodynamic theories believe childhood experiences shape a person s personality. The systems theory would focus on the micorsystems, which are the interpersonal relations experienced by the developing person. Amy s challenge will also be explained through her mesosystem, this would be the linkage and processes that take place between two or more setting containing the developing person (ST article ). Lastly through the systems theory Amy s challenge will be analyzed through her macrosystem which is a societal blueprint for a particular culture. • 17. Essay on Decomposition and Recycling in Aquatic Ecosystems Introduction Biogeochemical cycles are important to the sustainability of all life. Chemical elements necessary for the growth and reproduction of all organisms have a limited quantity on earth at any one time, other than the occasional meteor that brings with it new matter. It is therefore important that the recycling of these chemical elements is efficient. Autotrophs are the basis of almost all ecosystems. The rate that autotrophs produce and transfer energy is vital to the capacity of organisms that can inhabit these ecosystems. To understand the rates in which certain species leaves decay and release the energy stored within them can demonstrate how quickly the energy becomes available to organisms in higher trophic levels. ... Understanding The Unconscious Meanings Behind Individuals Introduction Individuals belong in a lot of different groups and settings in their lives and their ability to function well within these settings it is important for their wellbeing but also for the growth of the organisation itself. As potential therapists who are going to work with people within organisations it is important to understand the unconscious meanings behind individuals behaviours and the mechanisms that individuals and organisations use to deal with their anxieties. As humans and organisations use similar ways to defend themselves from similar anxieties, in this Essay I will describe some of these ways. I will first talk about what anxiety is from a psychoanalytic perspective and then I will talk about the defensive mechanism of projection as it is a mechanism that occur in the ways that individuals deal with anxiety but is also a mechanism that groups use to deal with their anxieties in the organisations. To make projection clearer I will give an example from own personal life. I will continue by describing defences that occur in social systems and I will do that by using the Bion s social defences against anxiety. I will move on to describe Melanie s Klein concepts of persecutory anxiety and depressive anxiety as they are concepts that relate to Jaque s social defence system which is a concept that describes how individuals use organisations deal with their anxieties. The Arguments In The Downside Of Grit, By Alfie Kohn The idea of grit is to be used to help students improve on goals they ve made, but in the The Downside of Grit by Alfie Kohn he would argue that somethings are better left alone instead of trying to pursue them and achieving them with little success. Kohn claims that grit can be counterproductive because anyone could be continuing something that doesn t make them content with the outcome. He also discusses about how people with grit could experience issues with psychological health when you try over and over again and end up with continuous failure. • 24. Existentialism In Hamlet Hamlet is widely regarded as one of William Shakespeare s most famous and best written tragedies. Its importance to history, due in part to the fact that the introspection of the main character upon his dilemmas was rarely addressed in other popular plays, is felt to this day. Similar to the likes of Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Othello, King Lear, and other Shakespearean tragedies, it has been the subject of much critical analysis and literary review from many approaches. In this essay, the historic, existentialist, traditional revenge tragedy, psychoanalytic, and archetypal approaches will be used to understand the tragedy of Hamlet. The time period in which the play was written is known as either the English Renaissance or the Early Modern Era. The existence of both names seems to prove that Hamlet was penned in a period of transition for England, and the characters within the tragedy all but confirm this conjecture. Hamlet, the titular character, represents the modern half of the transition, acquiring an education from a city where the transition was most prominent, while Claudius represents the medieval half, claiming and subsequently abusing the traditional position of king through means of betrayal and secrecy (Bernath 220). The time period also suggests that the introspection of the main character upon his dilemma s in such a way as to question his own existence initially had an incredible resonance with audiences, as such commentary on the human ... Christian derives from the Koine Greek word Christós, a translation of the Biblical Hebrew term mashiach. There are diverse interpretations of Christianity which sometimes conflict. However, Whatever else they might disagree about, Christians are at least united in believing that Jesus has a unique significance. It is also used as a label to identify people who associate with the cultural aspects of Christianity, irrespective of personal religious beliefs or practices. According to a 2011 Pew Research Center survey, there were 2.2 billion Christians around the world in 2010, up from about 600 million in 1910. The True Meaning Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet In Shakespeare s romantic and powerful play Romeo and Juliet, the two main characters, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, share a love at first sight moment at a very young age; in no time, their bond becomes unbreakable. Shakespeare clearly and eloquently emphasizes their love throughout the play by using poetic writing and literary devices to show how these two come together and their attraction becomes stronger as the play progresses. Today, most young loves seem to not get the true meaning of love that Shakespeare so strongly poses in Romeo and Juliet and think that just being together for a long time or having a great deal of pleasure is considered love . The passionate love that both Romeo and Juliet experience at such a young age through Shakespeare s writing seems outlandish to most young, immature readers today; however, although rare, with responsibility, maturity, and true affection, such love is still possible in this day and age. Today, love is such a commonly used word it almost feels as if people do not even realize what they are mean when they use the word. People seem to use the term for not just their own lovers or family members the main things that we should love but materialistic things such as phones, presents, and other rather meaningless temporary things in our everyday lives. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Taking into consideration that the weight of the cows is a key driver of calf weight, which in turn is the key driver of revenue. An Old Mule Farms average cow weight ranges between 1000 lbs. and 1400 lbs. My recommendation is that if they were to eliminate the lighter and heavier 40% of cows respectively, Old Mill Farms would have heavier calves to sell, resulting in higher revenues. This would also reduce expenses each of the heavier cows has been causing. This recommended approach will substantially reduce the expenses incurred by heavier cows, and increase the calf sell weight produced by the lighter cows. The best approach to measuring the proper size of a cow is to use the primary key driver of cow weight and compare the value of a calf to the cost of maintaining a cow. The principle of diminishing marginal productivity states that as one input in the production process is increased, there will be a point in which the addition of an input will result in smaller and smaller benefit. We can relate this principle with the weight of cows. As more nutrients, minerals, and forage is added to a cow the more a cow weighs. This in turn results in heavier calves. However, when a cow begins to weigh over 1200 lbs. the weight of calves diminishes. When taking in to account the principle of diminishing marginal utility, Old Mill Farms would be able to eliminate their losses by restricting their cow weight to 1200 ... Although the dog was rightfully Norm s, the audience would be persuaded to side with Josh when he sneaks into Norm s residence and steals the dog (Ebert). This is further backed by the fact that the audience is already aware of the cruelty of Norm. To the audience s expectations, Buddy further chooses Josh as it owner. I do believe this is the best end. The second word is the ethos. This is an appeal that is used to convince the audience of the credibility of a character or movie. It entails choosing of proper vocabulary, topic or theme to be featured in such contexts. In this movie, Air bud , the audience is presented with a dog that perfectly plays Basketball. In fact, Buddy makes twelve shots without missing a single one in the entire movie. Honestly, this is a skill that even the professional players would envy. This skill by the dog therefore creates its worthiness in the school basketball team, something the audience would agree with. It is important to note that in the absence of the dog, the school team is losing terribly. It s not a wonder therefore that Buddy leads the team to win ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Diction In Doris Lessing s A Woman On A Roof Through her remarkable short story titled A Woman on a Roof, Doris Lessing is able to present the idea that a man s general disdain for women he doesn t have immediate access to may stem from an initial rejection. Lessing uses devices such as crisp diction and subtle irony placed carefully throughout her story to accurately convey this problematic and very relevant topic not only during the 1960s, but also today. To begin, Lessing describes a scene that is quite easy to picture due to her heavily descriptive diction. She uses words such as steamed, sizzled, smoking, and scorching, which makes it so that the audience can practically feel the heat of the summer day. This description of the temperature also seems to set up the tense or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the end, Tom finally gathers up enough courage to speak with his love, but he is rejected...Not just rejected, but almost completely ignored. The tension and discomfort within this encounter can be seen when Lessing writes, She lay there. He stood there. She said nothing. She had simply shut him out. He stood, saying nothing at all, for some minutes. The high contrast between Tom s embellished and unrealistic version of the woman and her actual self causes him to become heartbroken. As mentioned before, Lessing is attempting to show that in some situations, when a man does not have instant access to a woman, he develops feelings of hatred toward her. In Tom s fantasies, he always had this access, and she could be anyone he wanted her to be. When she doesn t exhibit elation at the sound of his proposal, he feels betrayed. This is an example of irony, as Tom had expected the woman to act as she did in his dreams, but she ended up doing the complete opposite and letting him down. A Woman on a Roof ends by describing Tom s downfall and his drunkenness (and, based on Lessing s wordplay, it is intentionally unclear whether he is literally drunk or if he is metaphorically drunk off of the hatred he feels for the woman). It seems as if, at this point, Tom has essentially turned into Stanley. Tom started off harboring only feelings of admiration and love for the woman, but he eventually holds the same opinions of Stanley s that he once couldn t ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. Electricity Is A Natural Phenomenon Electricity is the directional flow of electrons between atoms. Electricity is a natural phenomenon and is one of the most commonly utilized forms of energy. Electricity is used in order to do work, such as generating heat and light. Electricity is measured in watts. Watts are the measurement of power (current * voltage). Current is the flow of electrons measured in amperes (Amps). One ampere is the amount of current when one coulomb (6.25 x 10^18 electrons) of charge moves past a point over one second. Voltage is the force that causes electrons to move in a circuit. A volt is defined as the electrostatic difference between two points when one joule of energy is used to move one coulomb of charge from one point to the other. (NDT Resource Center, 2013) A joule is the measurement of energy that is used when one watt of power does work for one second (also known as watt seconds). When measuring electricity in large numbers, the standard unit of measurement is kilowatt hour. This determines the rate at which energy is being used, and how energy is quantified in the United States. One kilowatt hour is equivalent to 3,412.14163 British Thermal Units (BTU s). One BTU is the amount of energy required to heat one pound of water by 1°F (Princeton, 2013). The current method of energy generation is from burning fossil fuels to generate electricity.
