How Did Beethoven Influence The World
Beethoven is one of the best composers we have ever had. Many say that he composed his best
works after going deaf. He was born to Johann and Maria Magdalena van Beethoven on
December 16,1770 in Bonn, Germany. His father was the one who taught him piano and violin
and mistreated him in the process. Beethoven was a average student and left school at the age of
eleven. Beethoven studied with many tutors and then eventually left Bonn to make something of
himself. Beethoven left Bonn only to come and care for his sickening mother. Soon after his
mother died and a later later his father died as well. After leaving Bonn to pursue a career he
started selling his works to publishers. By 1794 Beethoven made a name a name for himself in
society. He... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only was he influenced by other composers but also by many musical styles. One such
influence was french music. The french revolution was not only famous in Bonn but also in
Beethoven compositions as marches. Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach was not only known to
Beethoven but also to Mozart and Hadyn who Beethoven was influenced by. Just as emotion was a
strong characteristic in Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach s work it was even stronger in Beethoven s.
Here is a quote by Julian Medforth Budden expressing the influences of Beethoven, Rooted in the
Classical traditions of Joseph Haydn and Mozart, his art reaches out to encompass the new spirit of
humanism and incipient nationalism expressed in the works of Goethe and Friedrich von Schiller,
his elder contemporaries in the world of literature; the stringently redefined moral imperatives of
Kant; and the ideals of the French Revolution, with its passionate concern for the freedom and
dignity of the individual .
Beethoven s Symphony No. 5 is considered one of his masterpieces. It took Beethoven about four
years to create the piece. He started it at the most productive part of his life and pieces likes the
opera delayed the progress. The first movement is the shortest he s composed ever.

The Virtual Rat Pro Version 3.0 Program By Wadsworth...
Participants These three experiments aim to explore the various aspects associated with extinction
procedures. To facilitate these experiments, we used the Sniffy the virtual rat Pro Version 3.0
program by Wadsworth Cengage Learning. This program attempts to accurately simulate some of
the psychological processes and behavioral phenomena found in rats. In this program, all of the
subjects are always starved for food, regardless of how much it has eaten. This simplifies the
process of operant conditioningby reducing the amount of time required to simply wait for the
virtual rat to be hungry again.
For the following experiments, 22 virtual rat subjects, each supervised by its own experimenter,
were subjected to operant conditioning techniques, followed by extinction, secondary
reinforcement and spontaneous recovery. Since the same program was used for each of the 22
subjects, all the virtual rats can be considered to be identical to one another. Additionally, as a
result of the food deprivation programming, all virtual rats are ready for the presentation of food as
a reinforcer. Although each experiment consisted of 22 rats, the rats in experiment three are the
same rats that were used in experiment one. Therefore, the total number of subjects is 44 instead of
66 because the same virtual rat subjects are used in two of the three experiments. In order to collect
and monitor the relevant data, the program has various windows that display important information.

World Trade Center Reflection
The terrorist attack on the World Trade Center changed American citizens lives forever. On
September 11, 2016 some people risked their lives to save others, others experienced the terror, and
many had to watch the tragedy unfold. This day brought American citizens together, when people
needed it the most.
Immediately, after the brutal attack every mode of transportation was closed and people were
trying to find a way out of Manhattan. Average people were stepping up to save the people that
were stranded. Most New Yorkers last thought would be to get on a boat, but people were now
packed on every square inch of surface possible. After, one of the boaters called out for all
available boats to come help evacuate citizens from lower Manhattan. There were more than one
hundred boats from everywhere came in no time. Vincent Ardolino s thoughts when helping others

Ethical And Ethical Theories Of Ethics
Ethical Analogy Opinions lead our society. Everyone is entitled to their reasoning and how
strongly they feel that their approach to life is the right way. Moral beliefs are the stone
foundation behind the way people think and their ethics. Look at morals as code of conduct. Each
society has its own moral beliefs but come to an understanding that everyone s entitled is clear. It
s a rule that s not writing as a law but more so the common way. The act of a person behavior all
falls into their ethical belief. Different people causes for different responds to a situation.
Furthermore ethicsis a way to solidify the difference between good, bad or wrong and right.
Morally and ethically there is a wrong and right way to every issues we face however, no one
can truly say what is right the proper behavioral response due to emotions that move us. One
approach used to helping with ethics is Utilitarism. It is described as the means to an end.
Created by John Stuart Mill and Jeremy Bentham, this theory tries to answer moral questions with
emotion of one and religion. The outcome is for the greater good of all or the most people. It s
the idea of putting other before you. The moral good is defined as the greatest happiness for the
most amounts and the immoral would be the less good for the least amount. Kantian another theory
that is very opposite of, Utilitarism means to end. It s the law of not satisfying one s own needs,
created by Immanuel Kant. The two questions used as

Organizational Theories and their Applicability in Other...
Up until the 21 century, the majority of the published literature scrutinizing and modeling
organizational theories and their use in the workplace to maximize performance, were developed
exclusively in the United States. However, greater awareness of international workplace culture has
made it clear that these theories, which were modeled after American companies, are not as
universally applicable as researchers assumed. As American management and leadership theories,
these philosophies reflect an inherent bias, incorporating American values, motivations, and
expectations. As such, variations across cultures and their impact on organizations can make
implementation of these concepts completely inappropriate in another culture, while fully... Show

However, inherent in this theory is the assumption that the highest order need is self
actualization. Maslow created his hierarchy of needs from a highly individualistic perspective as
the United States is a highly individualistic nation. The needs and drives of those in
individualistic societies tend to be more self centered than those in collectivist societies,
focusing on improvement of the self, epitomized as self actualization. In collectivist societies,
the social needs of acceptance, harmony, and community outweigh the needs for freedom and
individuality. If the same manager were an expatriate in Japan, and decided to promote one of
his employees, it is likely the promotion would in fact diminish the employee s performance.
Nancy Adler, author of International Dimensions of Organizational Behavior, explains why:
Japanese have a high need for harmony to fit in with their work colleagues. The promotion, an
individualistic reward, separated the [employee] from his colleagues, embarrassed him, and
therefore diminished his motivation to work (Adler, 191). In another scenario, Maslow also
argues that a person who is deficient in all of the basic needs would likely crave their physiological
needs above all else. When Hurricane Katrina devastated the people of New Orleans in 2005,
victims of the flood were left deficient in several of

Comparison Of Hamlet s Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead
Although both Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead deal with a similar story and
themes, both approach it differently. The themes that are present in both texts, identity and the
willingness whether or not to act; they are brought forth using the same literary elements, such as
setting, point of view, and the uses of character interactions and dialogue. However, the ways each
element is used and how the story is told in both Hamletand Rosencrantz and Guildensternare Dead
is different from each other, as Hamlet takes a tragic turn and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern goes
into the absurd and existential.

large one. The two texts have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Insight to Hamlet s identity is given through the use of soliloquies and monologues. As Hamlet
progresses, his thoughts and beliefs about avenging his father s death are shown and stated by
using soliloquies, asides, and monologues, one of which being the famed To be or not to be
speech (Shakespeare III, i, 64 95). These moments of Hamlet s dialogue, especially that infamous
soliloquy, reveal his true identity as one who is teetering between deciding whether or not to
avenge his father s death.
On the other hand, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern frequently uses dialogue between the two title
characters. With this dialogue they are able to work out their identities, from figuring out who they
are (Stoppard I, 22) to trying to figure out if it is worth it to change fate because their ...movement
is contained within a larger one... (Stoppard III, 122). In both plays, speech is used to help develop
characters identities, while Hamlet relies on one person, Hamlet, to develop his identity, although
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern use dialogue between the two protagonists to reveal their individual

The Old Testament And New Testament
The names Old Testament and New Testament are inherently theological in nature. Because there is
a difference distinctly built into giving them different notations, it implies that there are differences
between each the Old Testament and the New Testament, whether it is subtle in nature or obvious
in nature. To Christians, the difference means that the Old Testament
contains dealings between God
and the world and even some of the rules made are made irrelevant by the interactions of Christ
Jesuswith the world. One of the differences between the New Testament and the Old Testament is
the way each of the Testaments describe God and God s nature. The Old Testament describes an
angry God, one who only created the world and was obsessed with laws and rules. The New
Testament describes a loving God who redeemed the world. The different ways the Old Testament
and New Testament describe God and his nature are very much influenced by their perspective of
God. By the rules, actions, and laws God made, the early writers of the Old Testament made their
judgements about God and wrote those perspectives into the books of the Old Testament. The
writers of the Old Testament did the best they could with the information they had and got some
things about God right, but also got things wrong. The writers of the New Testament and therefore,
Christian believers understand God better. The New Testament and the Old Testament are similar in
that they both speak of fulfillment for God s

Heart And Peripheral Vascular System
Heart and Peripheral Vascular System Chest pain is a symptom that can represent several different
diseases from different organ systems. It is essential to determine which system is responsible for
the pain and state the severity of the patient s condition (Longo et al., 2011). When considering
pain, there are eleven different criteria one must consider and evaluate. These include the duration
of the pain, onset, localization, irradiation, character, intensity, alleviating factors, aggravating
factors, triggering factors, regularity and accompanying signs (Longo et al., 2011). These are all
useful in determining the etiology of the pain and taking the appropriate therapeutic steps. The

The disease is usually associated with a viral infection before the pain occurs. The pain is sharp
and positional with a pleuritic nature (Longo et al., 2011). The pain is relieved by leaning
forward and worse when the patient is lying down. In addition, the pain is associated with a
pericardial rub. Another pain that is specific is that of aortic dissection. The condition is life
threatening and could be worsened by thrombolytics or anti aggregates, hence it is necessary to
detect. The pain is sharp, tearing, and severe and radiates to the back. The pain is pleuritic in
nature and associated with a loss of pulses (Longo et al., 2011). Non cardiovascular causes of
chest pain include musculoskeletal conditions such as costochondritis. The pain is usually localized
and the patient is able to pin point the exact location of the pain. The pain is increased by
inspiration and can be reproduced through palpitation of the chest wall. Gastrointestinal causes of
chest pain include GERD, which is due to an incompetent lower esophageal sphincter. The pain is
relieved by antacids and is exacerbated by the consumption of chocolates and fatty foods. There are
also pulmonary causes of chest pain and these include pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary embolism
is a sharp, sudden chest pain that is usually pleuritic. In addition, the pain is accompanied by
dyspnea, tachypnea, and hemoptysis (Longo et al., 2011). Hence, the above information illustrates

Even though he was a great leader, he was prejudice towards women and other races such as

Most of us know that the world is made of multiple religions. Even though we know that the world
is made up of multiple religions have you ever wondered how those religions you know about here
in United States change through out the world. Lets just focusing on Judaism, Christianity and
Islam in the Asian culture. Let s see how these religions are viewed in Asian culture and what
practices they share. However, even though this religion does have some presence in Asian cultural
when speaking to someone from that particular culture they didn t fall into any of these religions.

religions can change or stay the same in different parts of the world. Judaism in the Asian culture
is mainly seen in a small city in central China called Kaifeng. Even though many people will not
consider them Jewish even under Jewish law they are not technically considered Jewish. This is
because some of their Chines identity is shared with there practices like the Confucian tradition of
homering their ancestors. Even though some people don t consider them Jewish a professor of

Climate And Paleoclimatology
4.0 Measuring and Noticing the Change
4.1 Paleoclimatology
The Earth has maintained records of its climatic conditions in glaciers and ice caps, sediments from
lakes and oceans, within the skeletons of coral reefs, as well as tree rings. The study of these
samples is known as paleoclimatology. These environmental recorders can be used by scientists to
estimate past conditions. Common findings from paleoclimatologists (those who study
environmental evidence to gain insight on what the past climate was like and why) indicate that the
Earth s climate is always changing. Further examination shows that the Earth s climate is able to
drastically shift in a matter of years or decades. A main focus in paleoclimatology is to distinguish

As the layers are marked based on seasonal variations in snow, the isotopic composition of the
precipitation is examined further to determine the temperature when and where the snow fell.
Similarly, examining the isotopic properties of wind blown dust allows for the material to be
traced back to its origin. Anything that is within the atmosphere has the potential to end up in an
ice core, and more often than not remains unchanged over time. Trapped gases in air bubbles are
highly reliable records of atmospheric composition. Slight differences between bubbles and air
composition caused by gravitational and thermal effects, are well understood and recognizable.
Certain chemical reactions in impure ice can possibly produce abnormal compositions for some
gases. However, due to the close association of the gas and ice chemistry, it is a clear indicator of
climate change (Г“skarsson, 2004). Ice core records are generally cross referenced with other ice
core records along with other methods of instrumental climate records to confirm findings.
Statistical and physical analyses are needed to put small, one time changes into perspective.
Meanwhile, large changes in the concentrations of most materials in ice, reflect changes in their
atmospheric loading.

Lover and or Last
(A analysis of the similarities and differences in My Last Duchess and Porphyria s Lover)
Murders always have rational motives for murder, and murders always have some kind of personal
relation with their victim (Schmid). It is both horrifying and interesting that the majority of victims
have a close, personal correlation with their murderers. In My Last Duchess by Robert Browning is
a dramatic monologue in which a Duke addresses the agent of a Count about the possible
marriage between him and the Count s daughter. However, before the Duke can make the
decision to marry or not to marry the Count s daughter he briefs the agent of the Count about his
last Duchess. The Duke wants to make sure that the next woman he will marry will be submissive
and won t give him any trouble, unlike his last Duchess. In Porphyria s Lover by Robert Browning
is another dramatic monologue where a very upset man is sitting in his cottage in the outskirts of

Staining Teeth Essay
Logically, we could assume that coffee isn t the only substance that has ever stained your teeth.
Especially if you have been accumulating stains over the long term. Therefore, you want to first cut
out anything else that may be sabotaging your smile.
You have the usual suspects, like dark berries and cola. But a few other surprising foods and drinks
could be making your stains more obvious.
For example, if you think that sticking to white wine is better for white teeth, you may be wrong.
As it turns out, the acidity in white wine can make your enamel more porous.
So when you do eat or drink something that is overtly staining, it travels deeper into the surface of
the tooth. This can make the stain darker, more obvious, and tougher to ... Show more content on

7. Change the way you brew. And for that matter, the way you grind. Dr. Scott Frey of FreySmiles
has done quite a bit of legwork in determining which methods stain the most.
According to his findings, Turkish and espresso making methods carry the most stain creating
probability. Additionally, he estimates that many household coffeemakers are comparable to the
pour over method. The pour over comes in at number four on the spectrum of methods that stain
teeth.
All the way at the very bottom is the cold brew method. Using coarsely ground beans, this method
is hypothesized to have the least negative impact on maintaining white teeth. Contrary to what the
name implies, you don t have to drink cold brew cold. By all means, heat it up!
It s also ridiculously easy to make at home, which is nice considering how trendy it s becoming. To
make cold brew, all you need is coarsely ground coffee, a sterilized jar, cold brew coffee bags, and
water. Or, just get an infusing pitcher suitable for cold brew.
Let the coffee and water steep together for 24 hours before straining well. That sounds like a long
time to make coffee, right? But the good news here is that you can make a large batch and store it
in the fridge. It will stay fresh for weeks!
On top of keeping your smile white, cold brew is much less acidic. And although I m not big on
coffee, I think it tastes much better than the countertop drip

Carl Jung s Theory Of Personality And Psychological Types
In the 1920 s, a Swiss psychologist named Carl Jung devised a theory. Jung didn t accept the idea
that the behaviors of people were random. Instead, he was a firm believer that the differences
between individuals were a result of how people use their brains. Jung claimed that what appears
to be random behavior is actually the result of differences in the way people prefer to use their
mental capacities. (The Myers Briggs Foundation). Jung realized that people typically function in
one of two ways, take in information or make decisions, and that people usually are more
comfortable alone or around others. With all these observations, Jung wrote a book titled
Psychological Types, which introduced the idea of personality and psychological... Show more

Introverts are people who spend time thinking and reflecting before they act. Their motivation is
internal, which might end up closing them off from the world around them. Introverts usually
prefer one to one relationships, and only express intimacy with a few family members or close
friends. Introverts also love doing activities that allow them to be put in an organizational
position. Occasionally, introverts will shut down and close off from all of those around them.
Personally, I believe that is a completely accurate description of myself. I also plan out my days
ahead of time, and I love being able to put things together. While I sometimes I think that it is a
negative thing, I do tend to close off from my circle, which happens to be very small. If I do get
to meet my goal of being a teacher, my introversion definitely yields to potential for problems.
Getting out of my shell would be a challenge, without a doubt. That being said, my introversion is
mostly geared towards others my age. I am usually very comfortable around people that are older
or younger than I am, which makes me believe I would probably be okay. Other than having to
overcome the challenge of opening up, being an introvert does have upsides, such as having an
urge to get things done. The next part of my INFJ combination is that I am intuitive. Being intuitive
means that I able to feel things that seem true by a feeling that is similar to instinct. The intuitive

Similarities Between Dimmesdale And Prynne
In Nathaniel Hawthorne s, The Scarlet Letter, Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale displays a similar
characteristic to Edna Pontellier in Kate Chopin s, The Awakening. Both Dimmesdale and
Pontellier have a outward existence that conforms, while they have an inward life that questions.
Dimmesdale is a minister in the town of Boston, Massachusetts. To the people of the town he is
the example of divinity and purity. The townspeople believe he was chosen by God, but inwardly
Dimmesdale is housing a secret, a sin, that is eating away at him. Hester Prynnea beautiful, young
women is part of his sin. Together, Dimmesdale and Prynne committed adultery and have a child,
Pearl. Prynne displays the symbol of her sin by wearing a scarlet letter A, but Dimmesdale has
not confessed and has planted his sin in his heart. First, Dimmesdale is minister and is the one
to preach weekly sermons to the people of Boston. In his sermons he ministers that sinners will

Organizational Systems and Impacts
Shortly after the acquisition of PacifiCare by UnitedHealth Group (UHG), the differences in the
corporate culture and leadership styles were apparent. No longer did the PacifiCare motto of
every employee matters ring true. Large numbers of acquired staff were laid off and for those
who were allowed to stay the motto practiced by many of the acquiring managers was more
reminiscent of we don t need you . For those trying to assimilate into the UHG organization, it was
clear that the mission and values spoken by senior leadership were not what was practiced by many
of the management staff.

For those units that did interact with patients the patient care model utilized was one focused on
improving the health of specific populations of patients. Differing slightly from the traditional
disease management approach of assisting patients in the management of their lifestyle choices that
affected their chronic medical conditions, Optum subscribed to the population health focused
patient care model. As described by Cramm and Nieboer (2016) the population health delivery
model was one, which emphasized improving the overall quality of the patient s life by addressing
the physical, social, and financial difficulties typically faced by patients with chronic medical
conditions. The goal of the population health model was to foster a sense of well being within the
patient by providing the education and resources needed to empower the patient to make life long
changes (Cramm Nieboer, 2016).
Systems Model
From an organizational perspective, Optum utilized the divisional structure approach. Broken up
across business segments and geographic locations, each division within Optum functioned as an
autonomous business entity (Optum, n.d.). Each business segment was then organized according
to the business needs of that particular unit. For the population health management unit, an
informal team based structure was implemented which allowed the individual

Difference Between Loyalty And Loyalty
Considering True Loyalty:
Loyal customers are excessively important to any business, and businesses spend great amount of
their time, energy and money analyzing and captivate those customers. However, the usual
definition of a loyal customer that we consider is a high spending customer, and that definition is
imperfect. Marketing to customers based on true loyalty requires more: complicated measurement,
better spend data, and considering that a regular customer is not the same as a loyal customer.
Traditional View of Loyalty:
Those who are Retailers commonly define a loyal customer as a high spending customer. However,
considering on a customer s spend within a single business while important tells only a fraction of
the story. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Heart
To protect true loyalty, a product requires having an affecting connection with its customers, though
suggestions vary as to what that delightful emotion supposed to be. Various people would advise
that it s all concerning with Trust. A few would suggest rising Passion for the product. Still some
would give an opinion of creating an emotional experience.
True loyalty exists when
Customers feel safe,
Appreciated and smart
Every single one is substantially affecting idea, but they are vague, unearthly, and exceedingly
difficult to make progress able. They may not state it clearly, but when presented with this type of
suggestion, many marketers secretly scratch their heads. What does an emotional connection
indicate? What do I do to create it? How do I know if I have accomplished it?
The Emotional Drivers of Loyalty:
Although Loyalty can be measured in behavioral conditions (repeat purchases, share of wallet,
etc.), it is a product of an emotional connection. Emotions make behavior; loyalty is produced
when a product makes a customer experience a positive way. Once we recognize which emotions
makes loyalty, we can build up progress able plans to enable customers to create this emotional

Cheerleading Should Be Granted Sport Status
The argument of whether or not cheerleading should be granted sport status is one that has
escalated into a fierce debate over the past year, Wayne Drehs, a staff writer for ESPN, confirms.
While giving a purpose to many young athletes as many other known sports do, cheerleading has
lost any sport recognition somewhere along the way. The sport has grown miraculously into
something that is nothing short of amazing. However while cheerleadings difficulty has grown,
many people s support for the acceptation of being a sport has not. Many cheerleaders would
agree in a heartbeat that Cheerleading is in fact a sport, and should be known as one. Every person

There are many proven facts to support that cheerleading is in fact a sport. ESPN officially
declared cheer to be a sport, but that has not seemed to affect people s opinions.
There are certain different types of cheerleading that people should educate themselves with
before they decide whether or not to accept cheerleading as a sport. Cheerleading has different
categories and types depending on age and location. The two most common types of
cheerleading for high school and college cheerleaders are sideline and competitive. Drehs reports,
Ask most college cheerleaders today and they ll admit that standing on the sidelines . . . is
nowhere near a sport. But the yearly competitions . . . are as challenging as any other sport they ve
played. Most cheerleaders would agree that competition cheerleading does not get any credit for
being a sport, although it proves to be very challenging.
Too many believe cheerleading only consists of girls looking pretty on the sidelines, so the
question arises, why should cheerleading be considered a sport? Torgovnick informs that, They
[cheerleaders] do basket tosses where a group throws a flyer 25 feet in the air. They say the
adrenaline rush of performing these risky moves is what they love . . . they keep on going even
if they have a broken finger or a fractured rib. There are many difficult elements put into a routine.
Cheerleaders should be credited as athletes because they work just as hard as any other member of a

The Importance Of Accountability In The Military
Amongst many principles with which men and women of the military must abide by, the
concept of maintaining accountability of your personnel is possibly the most important
concept not just within the military itself, but around the world within any occupation. Keeping
proper accountability of your personnel covers yourself, as well as giving those above you the
luxury of being at ease knowing that their persons are all present and accounted for.
Accountability manifests itself both in real life and in fiction. Real life accountability ranges
from keeping tabs of where a student is in school and extends to keeping track of emergency
personnel in life or death situations. Teachers knowing where a student is, such as them being
sick and not coming to school that day or keeping tabs on them while on a field trip keeps them
at ease knowing their students are all accounted for and nobody was left alone when they need a
chaperone. In a life or death situation, such as recovery and life saving operations after a
hurricane or earthquake, the police, fire department, even the coast guard need to maintain
accountability of their officers and other personnel as well as the people they have recovered from
the wreckage. Although these real world examples are merely just examples of what accountability
is needed for, however people need to know exactly why it is needed in business and in the field.
Possibly the most important result of maintaining accountability of yourself, your

Lady Macbeth Is Not Evil
According to William Penn, A misery is not to be measured from the nature of the evil, but from
the temper of the sufferer. There are people who are willing to seek their own desires even if they
must attempt diabolical plans to pursue them. Some people can carry on with their evil deeds with
satisfaction, while others will regret their own decisions coming into effect. In the play, Macbeth,
evildeeds had to be met with the main characters in order to achieve their goals for royalty. Despite
their success in gaining their power, there were some characters who could not handle the ongoing
immorality that lurked within them from the start. The main villain, Lady Macbeth, was portrayed
as a cruel person, but her behaviors defined her otherwise.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Her paranoia has come to a point where she suffered from mental illness. This issue was noticed
as she was caught sleep walking while rubbing her hands and commanding her evidence to be
forgotten, saying, Out damned spot! ... What need we fear who knows it, when none can call our
power to accompt? (V, I, 32, 35). Her mental illness proved her guiltknowing she cannot get the
memories of her evil plan out of her head. Unlike a vile person, who would rather ignore their
crimes and guilt, she kept thinking about it in a worried matter. Her mentality eventually led to
sorrow. Macbeth disapproved her feelings about the misdeed as he ordered the doctor to Pluck
from the memory of rooted sorrow / Raze out the written troubles of the brain (V, iii, 41 42). His
statement about his wife s illness insisted that she was distracted by her remorse. The paranoia
she faced made her reveal her repentance and made her less ambitious for royalty. Her emotions
over brimmed her mind and diverted her behaviors negatively. These behaviors worried the doctor
when he prayed, Remove from her the means of all annoyance / And still keep eyes upon her (V, I,

proving once again that her guilty conscience made her snap instead of letting her forget her evil
deed. She could no longer handle the ongoing thoughts that haunted her since the crime despite her

Legalization of the use of drugs in sport might even have some advantages. The boundary between
the therapeutic and ergogenic i.e., performance enhancing use of drugs is blurred at present and
poses difficult questions for the controlling bodies of anti doping practice and for sports doctors.
The anti doping rules often
lead to complicated and costly administrative and medical follow up to ascertain whether drugs
taken by athletes are legitimate therapeutic agents or illicit. Furthermore, legalization of doping,
we believe, would encourage more sensible, informed use of drugs in amateur sport, leading to
an overall decline in the rate of health problems associated with doping. Finally, by allowing

The Development Ofu.s Copyright Law
The Development of U.S Copyright Law
Simon Cho
The history of U.S copyright law came from England. As a matter of fact, copyright was not
intended to reward creators but to prevent sedition. As the number of presses grew in late fifteenth
century in England, the authorities started to grant control over the publication of books to a group
of printers, called the Stationers Company in mid sixteenth century. The Licensing Act of 1662
confirmed that licensed printers have the right to publish the work forever. The Stationer s
Company didn t disappear even though the 1662 act lapsed in 1694. Rather, it shifted its focus from
printers to authors. Therefore, the Parliament enacted the first copyright law in 1710, called the
Statue of Anne, which protects author s work if they registered their work to the government.
Under the Statue of Anne, authors had a right to control their creations and sell their rights to the
third person. U.S. Congress has revised the copyright law to broaden the sphere of copyright and
to address new technologies as time goes by. This paper illustrates what have the Congress
amended in the copyright law and how has the amended law impacted proprietors by looking into
major revisions in U.S. copyright law. U.S Congress reviewed its copyright law based on the
Statue of Anne in early eighteenth century. The Congress first exercised its copyright protection
with the Copyright Act of 1790, which secure the copies of maps, charts and books to the

Chimney 101 Research Paper
Chimney 101: Why Your House Has One of Those
When you look at your roof, you may see some open pipes sticking out of it. What are these pipes
and why are they there? Some people call these chimneys, but it would be more technically correct
to call them vents or exhausts. In general, there are three types of chimneys that you can have on
your roof.
Brick and Mortar Chimneys
The first is the standard chimney that goes to your fireplace. They are usually made of brick,
stone, or some other fire resistant material. Its purpose of course, is to give the smoke from the
fire somewhere to go. However, this chimney is much more than just a simple tunnel to the outside.
There is a part in the chimney that actively works to keep carbon dioxide from

Pecola Nakedness
Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye begins by thrusting the reader into the cold embrace of human
suffrage in the form of Pecola Breedlove, thus dramatically detailing what her life is like whilst
launched before the public limelight. The sensation of nakedness is the perception of which
Morrison elaborates upon as Pecola is displaced of solitude and all of her human faculties are
stored into a cube for the world to refract its scornful eyes against. Furthermore, Morrison
delineates Pecola s suffering as though the human condition itself were an object; rather, one of
those sophisticated snow globes that one places on the wooden mantelpiece in order to proclaim
the winter season. The tragedy of Pecola Breedlove is that the town emulsifies her world,

Dogs And Pugs Research Paper
They are, no doubt that great dogs, erected for centuries because of their miraculous disposition.
Pug is never happier than spending time with a human family, often accompanying someone from
one room to another. He is welcomed at every step, with a nice, soft part in tanning, gray and
black, with a black mask that emphasizes his soft and wrinkled faces.
Pugs are usually good with other dogs, cats and children. Bigger and stronger than many small dog
breeds, even they can withstand a bit more in a brutal game, as long as they follow and do not
become uncontrollable. Due to their relatively large size (for toy breeds) and their peaceful
temperament, they are wonderful with children and perfect for families going from one place to
another, until

Langston Hughes As A Poet
Prior to Langston Hughes being recognized as a poet, when Hughes was twelve, his grandmother
died forcing him to live with a family friend, Auntie Reed (Bryant). During the time of his stay
with Auntie Reed, he was working at a white hotel, cleaning and shinning brass spittoons and
mirrors, scoured toilets, scrubbed the halls and keep the lobby immaculate (Rampersad). The
money he got from he used to go to movies where he had his early experience with racial
discrimination. In the south laws kept blacks and whites separated but in Kansas if a business was
privately owned, the rules didn t apply. One day Hughes went to the movie theater where he had his
first encounter with racial discrimination; a sign saying blacks couldn t. (Bryant)
When Langston Hughes was entering the seventh grade in 1914 Langston was under the care of a
teacher the instituted a segregated seating in her class which made Langston angry thus ultimately
him speaking out having him expelled. When Hughes was thirteen summer of 1915 (Rampersad), ...

The Piano Lesson Is A Play That Was Written By August Wilson.
The Piano Lesson is a play that was written by August Wilson. The story is used in a collection of

story takes place in 1937 Pittsburgh with an African American family that battle within themselves
on whether or not to keep a family heirloom, a carved piano. Wilson hits hot points of the past and
today with his view on civil rights and the power of death. In The Piano Lessonis a tool that allows

He is in a literal battle with a member of the dead and he survives. Had he not overcome death
previously Willie would have suffered the consequences. He is able to live another day because
of the fact that he is not afraid to die. Racial tensions still have a large impact on modern society
that need to be changed so that all are considered equal. Wilson starts by pointing out the racial
inadequacies in society using the scene where Lymon and Boy Willie go to collect their wood,
Me [Lymon] and Boy Willie got away but the sheriff got us. Say we was stealing wood. They shot
me in my stomach (Wilson 37). The police assume because the men are black that they are stealing
the wood. Discrimination, in the end, is the long build up of misunderstandings between people
who at first glance seem to be unsimilar. This is shown by the incident with the wood. The police
believe that Boy Willie and Lymon are stealing the wood, even though they were given permission
to take some of the wood for themselves. By assuming that they are thieves, they draw a line
between blacks and whites. They then spread this assumption to others who conclude the same
thing which further strengthens the division. This leads to entire populations hating other
populations from one misunderstanding. Hatred carries influence, and hatred is a powerful tool
that Wilson shows that the whites dominate. For example, And he go and fix it with the law that
them is his berries.

The Ibo Culture Of Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart
Cultures each have their own set of beliefs and morals and quite often these beliefs and morals
vary greatly between each culture. Commonly, a culture has its own rules for women. The Ibo
culture of Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart is one that gives its women power. They get their
power through their roles as mothers and their contributions to their religion. Great power is also
given to the women through the parts they play in agriculture for the clan. The women in Ibo
society are misunderstood when their own African culture is compared to modern Western culture.
The power given to the Ibo women, in the form of motherhood, is often overlooked due to the
comparison, whereas by the Ibo, women are viewed as the foundation of the clan and its people
(Hiatt). The women play educator in the Ibo villages. They pass on the morals, beliefs, and stories
of the clan. This means that the women are pivotal to the literal survival of the community and
social norms (Strong Leek). It would be true to say that women in Western society also have this
power; however, the power is not to the same degree. The Ibo women are viewed mainly as child
bearers (Strong Leek), therefore the Ibo children spend nearly all of their early childhood moments
with their mothers. The lack of significant outside interaction means that these mothers control
nearly all aspects of their children s development. The mothers share stories that teach important
lessons about the human condition (Hiatt) which

The Abolishment of Slavery in the United States and Haiti. When you think of the abolishment of
slavery, what is the first place you think of? Was it the United States? Maybe even Africa?
Although these two regions are well discussed in the history of slavery there are for more areas that
were involved. For the purpose of this paper, the two regions that have been chosen are the United
States and Haiti. The United States was colonized by a mix of different races. The most
predominant were English settlers and Haiti was predominantly French settlers. These two regions
bought, sold and traded slaves by the use of the Transatlantic Slave trade. However, both the United
States and Haiti played a significant role in the abolishment of slavery. The United States was spilt
into two sections, the Northern and the Southern states. The Southern states wanted to keep slavery,
however, the Northern States fought against it. The civil war broke out in this time. President
Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation In 1863 which abolished slavery. (13th Amendment
to the U.S. Constitution, 1865) However it could not go into full effect until after the Southern
states surrendered in 1865. Also that same year it was added to the constitution that slavery would
be illegal. (13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, 1865) In Haiti, circumstances were a bit
different. The emancipation in Haiti started with salves revolting against their

Creative Thinking Job With Google
I am prepared for a creative thinking job with google, working on the Google Home because of
the skills that I developed through my technical communication class. In LMC 3403 I expanded my
knowledge on technical communication and continued to grow as an individual. I learned a lot
about a different types of voice personas and the characteristics of soundinterfaces. Perhaps the
biggest takeaway in the class for me came through the development of my groups own sound
interface. We were forced to focus on the user interaction and really think about the characteristics
that the voice would possess, including the details that go into a voice persona like Siri, Alexa, and
the Google Home.
During LMC 3403 I acquired a foundational vocabulary for discussing and analyzing sounds,
voices, and modes of listening through the work done on my blog post. I learned about
soundscapes and how the use of tempo, pitch, and intensity create different emotions; contribute
to the overall goal of the environment. For instance take a weight room and library for instance.
The goal of a weight room is to give high levels of effort and physical effort. So you may have
loud intense music playing, this gets the blood going. You also may here the low grunts of other

work harder. Now take a library for example you may here the low hum of the air conditioner, the

Currently, the energy industry is controlled and dominated by the consumption of fossil fuels. As

Yes, a community is able to live on renewable energysources such as wind power and solar power.
A majority of local systems should install power grids purely based upon renewable energy,
depending on the source will depend on the area and the source that can generate the most on
demand. For example, small communities further in land will be able to depend on the use of
geothermal energy due to being in an isolated area where the mine can be installed and maintained
without disturbing day to day activities whereas in a city this would be impossible. The primary
question regarding the use of renewable/alternative energy sources is if they re able to generate
enough energy to cover the entire country? While the answer is currently unknown, we know
variables which in the end can bring us as a country to the conclusion. In a 2009 report by the
Australian Academy of Science, they state that Today s scientific and political consensus is that the

Why Investment Banking Is Like Doing Drugs
Doing investment banking is like doing drugs: on your good trips you dance in clouds of
marshmallows, surrounded by beautiful women (or men) serving you fruit under canopies. On
your bad trips you scratch your eyes out and jump off buildings. These are the words of Brian
DeChesare, The founder of Mergers Inquisitions and Breaking Into Wall Street.
As an investment banker you will work with companies, CEOs, CFOs to help grow their business.
This can be helping them with buying another company or issuing capital. It is your job to advise

Before the great depression, investment banking was in its golden era. At the time the market was
then led by JPMorgan and The National City Bank, They often had to step in and influence the
market to sustain the financial system.
According to The History of Investment Banking During the Great Depression, the nation s banking
system was in shambles, with 40% of banks either failing or forced to merge. The Glass Steagall
Act (or more specifically, the Bank Act of 1933) was enacted by the government with the intent of
rehabilitating the banking industry by erecting a wall between commercial banking and investment
banking. The government thought by separating the two they could lessen the amount of money
that was recklessly spent by commercial banks.
According to What Was The Glass Steagall Act Commercial banks were accused of being too
speculative in the pre Depression era, not only because they were investing in to their own assets
but also because they were buying new issues for resale to the public. The banks became greedy,
taking on huge risks in the hope of even bigger rewards. Banking itself became sloppy and
objectives became blurred. Unsound

Comparative Textual Analysis of Two Articles
The key to being able to differentiate one newspaper from another is often, if not always, the way
the latter presents its news, both aesthetically and stylistically. These aspects have gradually
divided newspapers into two distinct categories: broadsheets and tabloids. The former being a
more neutral and respected type and the latter a newspaper for more or less entertainment purposes
only. This can be well observed in two specific articles that both report on political campaigns.
The first one, an extract from The New Vision, a pro government Ugandan publication, recounts
presidential candidate Paddy Bitama s arrival to the official nomination as an election candidate.
The article vaguely follows Bitama („of Amarula Family an ... Show more content on

The article also uses a lot of local expressions such as „bodaboda , a word which has been given
the meaning of a bicycle taxi .
The second article however, recounts the story of Nixon s involvement in a bugging scandal that
eventually led to his resignation as U.S. president. Another basic aspect that differentiates this
newspaper article from the Ugandan one is, first of all, that it is not as recent (seeing as the latter
was published in 2010 and the former in 1972) and seems to be a bit more serious and longer in
length. Nonetheless, this article, entitled „GOP security aide among 5 arrested in bugging affair
still has some emotive and vague language: „We deplore action of this kind in or our of politics
and „the mystery deepens , along with a few euphemisms such as „the bugging incident .
From this one will be able to conclude that even this article is not completely un biased. In fact, it
is, additionally, rather informal. This is especially obvious when the journalists decide to use GOP,
a nickname for the Republican Party and an abbreviation of „Grand Old Party , instead of its
official name.
Finally, the short paragraphs that make the article a whole are crowded with various quotes, and
even mention the rather irrelevant age of a certain CIA employee James W. McCord. Even though
these aspects are, as

Tijuana Straits, By Kem Nunn
People do not always get to have the fairytale life they once dreamed of. Life comes with many
struggles, but people can overcome them if they really want to. They choose to follow a certain
path in their life, which at times it can be good or bad. In the book, Tijuana Straits , by Kem
Nunn, the author explains the different life experiences of certain characters in the book and
how their life ended up. Unlike a fairytale, he gives the different perspective and point of views
of the characters. Nunn gave enough information to know how the character s lives ended up the
way it did. The characters, Fahey, Armando, and Magdalena, were each described with a different
persona so that each one sticks out different than the other. Nunn gave the point of view of the
characters so the readers can get a sense of what each one of them is thinking of. There s a
character named Fahey, an ex surfer who took the wrong path and ended up owning and working in
his worm farm, which is basically the protagonistin the book. Fahey s life was described as a
rollercoaster and he went into detail about it. Nunn states, The man was so pissed about not getting
more mileage out of a second offense that he kept Fahey in a county lockup for six months
awaiting transfer and another six in what they euphemistically called bus therapy that is, in constant

  • 2. How Did Beethoven Influence The World Beethoven is one of the best composers we have ever had. Many say that he composed his best works after going deaf. He was born to Johann and Maria Magdalena van Beethoven on December 16,1770 in Bonn, Germany. His father was the one who taught him piano and violin and mistreated him in the process. Beethoven was a average student and left school at the age of eleven. Beethoven studied with many tutors and then eventually left Bonn to make something of himself. Beethoven left Bonn only to come and care for his sickening mother. Soon after his mother died and a later later his father died as well. After leaving Bonn to pursue a career he started selling his works to publishers. By 1794 Beethoven made a name a name for himself in society. He... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only was he influenced by other composers but also by many musical styles. One such influence was french music. The french revolution was not only famous in Bonn but also in Beethoven compositions as marches. Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach was not only known to Beethoven but also to Mozart and Hadyn who Beethoven was influenced by. Just as emotion was a strong characteristic in Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach s work it was even stronger in Beethoven s. Here is a quote by Julian Medforth Budden expressing the influences of Beethoven, Rooted in the Classical traditions of Joseph Haydn and Mozart, his art reaches out to encompass the new spirit of humanism and incipient nationalism expressed in the works of Goethe and Friedrich von Schiller, his elder contemporaries in the world of literature; the stringently redefined moral imperatives of Kant; and the ideals of the French Revolution, with its passionate concern for the freedom and dignity of the individual . Beethoven s Symphony No. 5 is considered one of his masterpieces. It took Beethoven about four years to create the piece. He started it at the most productive part of his life and pieces likes the opera delayed the progress. The first movement is the shortest he s composed ever. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Virtual Rat Pro Version 3.0 Program By Wadsworth... Participants These three experiments aim to explore the various aspects associated with extinction procedures. To facilitate these experiments, we used the Sniffy the virtual rat Pro Version 3.0 program by Wadsworth Cengage Learning. This program attempts to accurately simulate some of the psychological processes and behavioral phenomena found in rats. In this program, all of the subjects are always starved for food, regardless of how much it has eaten. This simplifies the process of operant conditioningby reducing the amount of time required to simply wait for the virtual rat to be hungry again. For the following experiments, 22 virtual rat subjects, each supervised by its own experimenter, were subjected to operant conditioning techniques, followed by extinction, secondary reinforcement and spontaneous recovery. Since the same program was used for each of the 22 subjects, all the virtual rats can be considered to be identical to one another. Additionally, as a result of the food deprivation programming, all virtual rats are ready for the presentation of food as a reinforcer. Although each experiment consisted of 22 rats, the rats in experiment three are the same rats that were used in experiment one. Therefore, the total number of subjects is 44 instead of 66 because the same virtual rat subjects are used in two of the three experiments. In order to collect and monitor the relevant data, the program has various windows that display important information. The two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. World Trade Center Reflection The terrorist attack on the World Trade Center changed American citizens lives forever. On September 11, 2016 some people risked their lives to save others, others experienced the terror, and many had to watch the tragedy unfold. This day brought American citizens together, when people needed it the most. Immediately, after the brutal attack every mode of transportation was closed and people were trying to find a way out of Manhattan. Average people were stepping up to save the people that were stranded. Most New Yorkers last thought would be to get on a boat, but people were now packed on every square inch of surface possible. After, one of the boaters called out for all available boats to come help evacuate citizens from lower Manhattan. There were more than one hundred boats from everywhere came in no time. Vincent Ardolino s thoughts when helping others was, One person less that will suffer and die. This truly shows how Americans can come together and do what s morally right. One ... One guy jumped from the apron on to the railing onto one of the boat and was asked, What are you doing and his response was, Jumping for my life . • 5. Ethical And Ethical Theories Of Ethics Ethical Analogy Opinions lead our society. Everyone is entitled to their reasoning and how strongly they feel that their approach to life is the right way. Moral beliefs are the stone foundation behind the way people think and their ethics. Look at morals as code of conduct. Each society has its own moral beliefs but come to an understanding that everyone s entitled is clear. It s a rule that s not writing as a law but more so the common way. The act of a person behavior all falls into their ethical belief. Different people causes for different responds to a situation. Furthermore ethicsis a way to solidify the difference between good, bad or wrong and right. Morally and ethically there is a wrong and right way to every issues we face however, no one can truly say what is right the proper behavioral response due to emotions that move us. One approach used to helping with ethics is Utilitarism. It is described as the means to an end. Created by John Stuart Mill and Jeremy Bentham, this theory tries to answer moral questions with emotion of one and religion. The outcome is for the greater good of all or the most people. It s the idea of putting other before you. The moral good is defined as the greatest happiness for the most amounts and the immoral would be the less good for the least amount. Kantian another theory that is very opposite of, Utilitarism means to end. It s the law of not satisfying one s own needs, created by Immanuel Kant. The two questions used as ... • 6. Organizational Theories and their Applicability in Other... Up until the 21 century, the majority of the published literature scrutinizing and modeling organizational theories and their use in the workplace to maximize performance, were developed exclusively in the United States. However, greater awareness of international workplace culture has made it clear that these theories, which were modeled after American companies, are not as universally applicable as researchers assumed. As American management and leadership theories, these philosophies reflect an inherent bias, incorporating American values, motivations, and expectations. As such, variations across cultures and their impact on organizations can make implementation of these concepts completely inappropriate in another culture, while fully... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, inherent in this theory is the assumption that the highest order need is self actualization. Maslow created his hierarchy of needs from a highly individualistic perspective as the United States is a highly individualistic nation. The needs and drives of those in individualistic societies tend to be more self centered than those in collectivist societies, focusing on improvement of the self, epitomized as self actualization. In collectivist societies, the social needs of acceptance, harmony, and community outweigh the needs for freedom and individuality. If the same manager were an expatriate in Japan, and decided to promote one of his employees, it is likely the promotion would in fact diminish the employee s performance. Nancy Adler, author of International Dimensions of Organizational Behavior, explains why: Japanese have a high need for harmony to fit in with their work colleagues. The promotion, an individualistic reward, separated the [employee] from his colleagues, embarrassed him, and therefore diminished his motivation to work (Adler, 191). In another scenario, Maslow also argues that a person who is deficient in all of the basic needs would likely crave their physiological needs above all else. When Hurricane Katrina devastated the people of New Orleans in 2005, victims of the flood were left deficient in several of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The themes that are present in both texts, identity and the willingness whether or not to act; they are brought forth using the same literary elements, such as setting, point of view, and the uses of character interactions and dialogue. However, the ways each element is used and how the story is told in both Hamletand Rosencrantz and Guildensternare Dead is different from each other, as Hamlet takes a tragic turn and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern goes into the absurd and existential. Insight to Hamlet s identity is given through the use of soliloquies and monologues. As Hamlet progresses, his thoughts and beliefs about avenging his father s death are shown and stated by using soliloquies, asides, and monologues, one of which being the famed To be or not to be speech (Shakespeare III, i, 64 95). These moments of Hamlet s dialogue, especially that infamous soliloquy, reveal his true identity as one who is teetering between deciding whether or not to avenge his father s death. On the other hand, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern frequently uses dialogue between the two title characters. • 8. The Old Testament And New Testament The names Old Testament and New Testament are inherently theological in nature. Because there is a difference distinctly built into giving them different notations, it implies that there are differences between each the Old Testament and the New Testament, whether it is subtle in nature or obvious in nature. To Christians, the difference means that the Old Testament contains dealings between God and the world and even some of the rules made are made irrelevant by the interactions of Christ Jesuswith the world. One of the differences between the New Testament and the Old Testament is the way each of the Testaments describe God and God s nature. The Old Testament describes an angry God, one who only created the world and was obsessed with laws and rules. The New Testament describes a loving God who redeemed the world. The different ways the Old Testament and New Testament describe God and his nature are very much influenced by their perspective of God. By the rules, actions, and laws God made, the early writers of the Old Testament made their judgements about God and wrote those perspectives into the books of the Old Testament. The writers of the Old Testament did the best they could with the information they had and got some things about God right, but also got things wrong. The writers of the New Testament and therefore, Christian believers understand God better. The New Testament and the Old Testament are similar in that they both speak of fulfillment for God s ... It is essential to determine which system is responsible for the pain and state the severity of the patient s condition (Longo et al., 2011). When considering pain, there are eleven different criteria one must consider and evaluate. These include the duration of the pain, onset, localization, irradiation, character, intensity, alleviating factors, aggravating factors, triggering factors, regularity and accompanying signs (Longo et al., 2011). Common findings from paleoclimatologists (those who study environmental evidence to gain insight on what the past climate was like and why) indicate that the Earth s climate is always changing. Trapped gases in air bubbles are highly reliable records of atmospheric composition. Slight differences between bubbles and air composition caused by gravitational and thermal effects, are well understood and recognizable. Certain chemical reactions in impure ice can possibly produce abnormal compositions for some gases. Additionally, he estimates that many household coffeemakers are comparable to the pour over method. The pour over comes in at number four on the spectrum of methods that stain teeth. All the way at the very bottom is the cold brew method. Using coarsely ground beans, this method is hypothesized to have the least negative impact on maintaining white teeth. Jung claimed that what appears to be random behavior is actually the result of differences in the way people prefer to use their mental capacities. (The Myers Briggs Foundation). • 42. The Development Ofu.s Copyright Law The Development of U.S Copyright Law Simon Cho The history of U.S copyright law came from England. As a matter of fact, copyright was not intended to reward creators but to prevent sedition. As the number of presses grew in late fifteenth century in England, the authorities started to grant control over the publication of books to a group of printers, called the Stationers Company in mid sixteenth century. The Licensing Act of 1662 confirmed that licensed printers have the right to publish the work forever. The Stationer s Company didn t disappear even though the 1662 act lapsed in 1694. Rather, it shifted its focus from printers to authors. Therefore, the Parliament enacted the first copyright law in 1710, called the Statue of Anne, which protects author s work if they registered their work to the government. Under the Statue of Anne, authors had a right to control their creations and sell their rights to the third person. U.S. Congress has revised the copyright law to broaden the sphere of copyright and to address new technologies as time goes by. This paper illustrates what have the Congress amended in the copyright law and how has the amended law impacted proprietors by looking into major revisions in U.S. copyright law. Wilson starts by pointing out the racial inadequacies in society using the scene where Lymon and Boy Willie go to collect their wood, Me [Lymon] and Boy Willie got away but the sheriff got us. Say we was stealing wood. They shot me in my stomach (Wilson 37). The police assume because the men are black that they are stealing the wood. Discrimination, in the end, is the long build up of misunderstandings between people who at first glance seem to be unsimilar. This is shown by the incident with the wood. The police believe that Boy Willie and Lymon are stealing the wood, even though they were given permission to take some of the wood for themselves. By assuming that they are thieves, they draw a line between blacks and whites. They then spread this assumption to others who conclude the same thing which further strengthens the division. This leads to entire populations hating other populations from one misunderstanding. Hatred carries influence, and hatred is a powerful tool that Wilson shows that the whites dominate. They get their power through their roles as mothers and their contributions to their religion. Great power is also given to the women through the parts they play in agriculture for the clan. The women in Ibo society are misunderstood when their own African culture is compared to modern Western culture. The power given to the Ibo women, in the form of motherhood, is often overlooked due to the comparison, whereas by the Ibo, women are viewed as the foundation of the clan and its people (Hiatt). The women play educator in the Ibo villages. They pass on the morals, beliefs, and stories of the clan. When you think of the abolishment of slavery, what is the first place you think of? Was it the United States? Maybe even Africa? Although these two regions are well discussed in the history of slavery there are for more areas that were involved. For the purpose of this paper, the two regions that have been chosen are the United States and Haiti. The United States was colonized by a mix of different races. The most predominant were English settlers and Haiti was predominantly French settlers. These two regions bought, sold and traded slaves by the use of the Transatlantic Slave trade. However, both the United States and Haiti played a significant role in the abolishment of slavery. The United States was spilt into two sections, the Northern and the Southern states. The Southern states wanted to keep slavery, however, the Northern States fought against it. The civil war broke out in this time. • 52. Creative Thinking Job With Google I am prepared for a creative thinking job with google, working on the Google Home because of the skills that I developed through my technical communication class. In LMC 3403 I expanded my knowledge on technical communication and continued to grow as an individual. I learned a lot about a different types of voice personas and the characteristics of soundinterfaces. Perhaps the biggest takeaway in the class for me came through the development of my groups own sound interface. We were forced to focus on the user interaction and really think about the characteristics that the voice would possess, including the details that go into a voice persona like Siri, Alexa, and the Google Home. During LMC 3403 I acquired a foundational vocabulary for discussing and analyzing sounds, voices, and modes of listening through the work done on my blog post. While the answer is currently unknown, we know variables which in the end can bring us as a country to the conclusion. • 57. Comparative Textual Analysis of Two Articles The key to being able to differentiate one newspaper from another is often, if not always, the way the latter presents its news, both aesthetically and stylistically. These aspects have gradually divided newspapers into two distinct categories: broadsheets and tabloids. The former being a more neutral and respected type and the latter a newspaper for more or less entertainment purposes only. This can be well observed in two specific articles that both report on political campaigns. The first one, an extract from The New Vision, a pro government Ugandan publication, recounts presidential candidate Paddy Bitama s arrival to the official nomination as an election candidate. The article vaguely follows Bitama („of Amarula Family an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The article also uses a lot of local expressions such as „bodaboda , a word which has been given the meaning of a bicycle taxi . The second article however, recounts the story of Nixon s involvement in a bugging scandal that eventually led to his resignation as U.S. president. Another basic aspect that differentiates this newspaper article from the Ugandan one is, first of all, that it is not as recent (seeing as the latter was published in 2010 and the former in 1972) and seems to be a bit more serious and longer in length. Nonetheless, this article, entitled „GOP security aide among 5 arrested in bugging affair still has some emotive and vague language: „We deplore action of this kind in or our of politics and „the mystery deepens , along with a few euphemisms such as „the bugging incident . From this one will be able to conclude that even this article is not completely un biased. In fact, it is, additionally, rather informal. This is especially obvious when the journalists decide to use GOP, a nickname for the Republican Party and an abbreviation of „Grand Old Party , instead of its official name. Finally, the short paragraphs that make the article a whole are crowded with various quotes, and even mention the rather irrelevant age of a certain CIA employee James W. McCord.
