Section B: Long Form TV Drama
Task: Compile facts for Question 3 in the Evolving Media paper.
• To collect as many facts as possible on the differences between these two products. (Use the booklet provided as main resources, although you can
find additional information online. If you do that, remember to use reliable sources and to reference them)
Do these according to these different aspects:
1. Their intended target audiences.
2. The media industries behind the products, including aspects of ownership (commercial network vs. PBS); regulation; aspects of production (such as
budgeting), marketing, distribution and exhibition as well as the impact of technological changes on TV consumption.
3. The different representations of their respective socio-cultural and historical contexts : America in the 1980s / Denmark in the 2000s; including
representations of gender, race/ethnicity, or any other aspects of representation that may be relevant, such the ideologies behind these texts and
how these TV dramas “represent their audiences”(audience identification)
4. Aspects of media language, such as use of all the different aspects of cinematography; intertextual references; genre, narrative.
5. Their different socio-cultural and historical contexts (Historical, cultural, economic, social and political)

LFTVD Question 3 task

  • 1. Section B: Long Form TV Drama Task: Compile facts for Question 3 in the Evolving Media paper. • To collect as many facts as possible on the differences between these two products. (Use the booklet provided as main resources, although you can find additional information online. If you do that, remember to use reliable sources and to reference them) Do these according to these different aspects: 1. Their intended target audiences. 2. The media industries behind the products, including aspects of ownership (commercial network vs. PBS); regulation; aspects of production (such as budgeting), marketing, distribution and exhibition as well as the impact of technological changes on TV consumption. 3. The different representations of their respective socio-cultural and historical contexts : America in the 1980s / Denmark in the 2000s; including representations of gender, race/ethnicity, or any other aspects of representation that may be relevant, such the ideologies behind these texts and how these TV dramas “represent their audiences”(audience identification) 4. Aspects of media language, such as use of all the different aspects of cinematography; intertextual references; genre, narrative. 5. Their different socio-cultural and historical contexts (Historical, cultural, economic, social and political)
