The Spanish 1 class will work on two storytelling assignments using the present tense. Students will first watch an example video and then write a 5 sentence story about their avatar's actions in Second Life. After turning that in, they will complete a Webquest where they write a story about a man named Jose. Both stories will be published to the class website and wiki by the end of the class period.

1. Day 5
A- I am teaching a Spanish 1 class in a public high school. The students ages range from
14 to 18. Their are 20 students in the class 11 girls and 9 boys. Half the class is African
American.
S- The students will be telling 2 stories using the present tense. They will first watch a
video as an example of how their story should be. They will then go to Second Life and
write 5 sentences about the things that the avatar did. The final assessment will be the
Zunal Webquest. They will have to write a story about a man named Jose. The stories
will both be published to the Class Website and the class wiki. By the end of the class
they they should understand this with 100% accuracy.
S- The students will watch the example video so they will have an idea of what the
assignment should be like. They will then go on second life and write a 5 sentence story
of what their avatar did. After turning it in they will then focus on the Webquest and write
their story about Jose. Then they will post it to the class website and the Wiki.
Media- Zunal, Youtube, Secondlife, Class Website, Wikispaces
Materials- computer lab, projector, pencil and paper
U-The students will listen and watch the video, and apply the concept to their own
stories, They will work hard to complete both assignments, and post them to the website
and wiki.
R- The student will write both stories and participate in Zunal and Second Life.
E- the students will be evaluated on both stories. The WebQuest on Zunal, however will
be the final assessment for the unit.
