ROUTINE
Singinggreetingsong“Yellow,red,greenandblue.Helloteacher,how are you?”.Giving
studentsbadgeswiththeirnames.Writingthe date onthe board.
WARM UP
The teacherwill presentthe bodypartsof a bug inseparate piecesandwill aska few students
to come to the board, take one piece andput itin the correct place to formthe image. The
teacherwill showflashcardswiththe namesof the bodypartsand stickthemon the board
nextto the correspondentbodypart.She will readthemaloudandaskstudentstorepeat
afterher. Thenshe will give studentsahandoutwhere theywillfindthe same image andwill
have to complete the names of the bodyparts.Afterwards,the teacherwillpresentthe bug(a
wasp) as studentsdonotknowit yet.She will alsointroduce the snail andthe mantiswiththe
helpof flashcards,andwill asksome studentstostickthe imagesandcorrespondentnameson
the posterdone some classesago.Then,she will askstudentstocomplete the namesof the
newbugslearnedinthe picture glossary intheirnotebooks,andalsotofinishthe activityin
the thirdcolumnof the chart.

DEVELOPMENT:
(Some activitiesbelongto lessonplan 3, but as it was a rainy day there were a lot of kids
missing,so we have decided most of the activitiesso as to no leave behindthose who were
absent)
First Activity:
The teacherwill askstudentstoopenthe bookon page 25 and say whattheysee there
(numbers).Thenthe teacherand the studentswillreadaloud,altogether,the numberswritten
on the page.

SecondActivity:
The teacherwill asktwostudentsto readthe short exchange atthe bottomof page 25. Based
on this,the teacherwill revisethe usage of there is/are andintroduce the structure “how
manyx are there?”forquestions.

checkthe answersineachstudent’snotebookassoonastheyfinish,andaftera few minutes
will checkthe answersorallywithall the classtogetherandwrite themonthe boardso that
everyone cancorrectthem.
