3. Teaching approach: The lesson is based on the Communicative approach
and organized through The PPP Procedure.
Integration of skills:
SPEAKING: the learners practise speaking when they sing the greeting
song and when they ask their classmates questions to know the birthday
date and respond to them.
READING: when they have to read the title of the activities and the
grammar rule.
LISTENING: develop by listening the teacher’s commands and sing the
greeting song.
WRITING: develop this skill through practice writing sentences.
Materials and resources: flashcards, book, worksheet.
Pedagogical use of ICT in class or at home: no one for this lesson
Seating arrangement: Students will be sitting in their desk.
Assessment: I will verify that students can understand and identify the
numbers and its names.
I will verify that learners can understand and produce oral and written
sentences using questions and personal pronouns
Although I will use the PPP method, I will try to make the necessary mimics
so that they understand using the target language, encouraging the
students to produce the pieces of language I am teaching.
Stages in the lesson
Routine: 3´
Purpose: to begin the lesson, motivating the students to be in a good
mood and predisposed work, and focus on the English class.
Description:
I`ll get into the classroom and greet the learners: “hello! How are you?
E.A. Hello! Fine.
I will begin the lesson inviting the learners to sing the Hello song.
4. Hello, Hello
How are you?
I`m fine. And you?
I’m fine. Thank you.
Transition: “well, now we are going to play a game.”
Warm Up: 10’
I will invite the students to play a Memory game. I will ask the students to
play the game in pairs.
I will explain how they have to play. They have to find the pairs of identical
balloons. First they have to put all the cards face down on the table and then
by turn one students can pick two cards if they are identical they have to
mention the colour of the ballons.
Transition: “Well done!! Now, we are going to work in the book.”
Activity 1 - 10’:
Description:
I will invite the students to open their books on page 43. I will explain to
students how to ask about age and how to answer it. And I will invite the
students to practise the questions asking three partners and answer the
question.
5. Then I will invite the students to complete the next exercise. Where they
have to count the numbers of candles and write the numbers in the space.
6. Transition: “Excellent!! Now, we are going to continue with the next page.”
Activity 2 - 5’:
Description:
I will students to open their books on page 44, in the exercise 9. I will
explain the activity,“ you have to match the questions with the correct
answers. Example the first question says, “what numbers is it? What do you
think is the answer? ”
E.A: “It is eight”
Transition: “Excellent!! Now, we are going to continue with the next
activity.”
Activity 3 - 10’:
Description:
I will stick on the board a big hand with my data.
7. Then, I will invite students to complete the activity 10 with their data.
Transition: “Excellent!! Now, we are going to continue with the next
activity.”
Activity 4 - 5’:
Description:
I will invite to complete the activity 11. I will explain “you have to complete
the sentences putting in order the name of the numbers”
Transition: “excellent! Your work has been amazing today, but the lesson is
about to finish.”

Description:
I will give students a worksheet. I will explain “you have to match the
numbers and paint the animal that will appear”.
