This document evaluates the effectiveness of the Leishman-Giemsa cocktail (LGC) stain in air-dried cytology smears compared to May-Grunwald-Giemsa (MGG) stain, based on a study of 100 cases. The results indicated that the LGC stain had better overall staining quality and clarity, with a quality index of 0.80 versus 0.59 for MGG, making it a promising option for routine cytological procedures. The study concludes that LGC provides economical and efficient staining, particularly beneficial for high-volume diagnostic settings.
