The document discusses legal and copyright issues related to various elements that may be included in a short film project. It notes that the filmmaker will copyright their own filmed footage and designs to maintain ownership and require permission for others to use it. Additional video or audio found online would require permission from the copyright owner unless it is free stock footage or royalty free. Following BBFC content guidelines and accurately rating the film is also discussed to avoid legal issues. The length for submission to a film festival is provided.

1. What Who owns it? Legal Impact Any impact on use?
Your filmed footage me I will copyright my footage so that others will
have to ask for permission to use my work in
the future so they cant get credit form it.
Before filming I briefed my actors and their parents
about where and what was going to happen. I also
asked all actors if they didn’t mind me publishing the
footage and if the platforms it will be up loaded onto
was ok. I also sent out permission forms so I can get
consent from their parents as well, and it’s a written
form of evidence.

Me
This is because I will design and make it
independently meaning my trade mark will
be on it and I will rightfully get credit unlike
if I use another companies like warner
brothers then they will own it and all the
trade make that come along side,
if I use a company logo like warner brothers,
I will have to get permission from the
company itself or otherwise I could get
copyrighted. With consequences of having to
take my film off of all media platforms and
un-publish it.
if I decide to use a company logo like warner
brothers, I will have to get permission to use their
logo from the company itself first.
Additional video
footage found
online
The additional person or company who
made and produced it online.

get done for copyright unless it is free stock
footage.
unless it is free stock footage, I will have to get

I cant get accused of stealing.

2. What What is the impact on your
film
Legal impact n/a
the certificate
that I would rate
my short film
I think that my film will be classed
as a PG, so I cant include
discrimination, drugs, bad
language, nudity and sex, threats
and violence.
If I don’t follow the rules of the bbfc but still want to
rate the film a pg. when in reality it should in fact be a
12 or higher, then I could get in trouble for it.

Content
considerations
My film will have to follow the
guide lines of the bbfc so that it
doesn’t offend or upset anyone
who may watch it,.
If I don’t follow the rules of the bbfc and still included
content that could upset or offend anyone in anyway
and because it is rated a pg instead of higher
encouraging younger audiences to watch then I could
get into trouble.

My film is going
to be shown
online.
To be on short of the week films,
It needs to be between 40 and 5
minutes. And they avoid music
videos, abstract films with little or
no story. Lots of special effects,
adverts, time lapses, travel videos,
comedies and documentaries.
I need to make sure that nothing included in my film
has copyright issues. As if it happens my film does
contain issues then ill need to make sure that I have
the right permissions to use any of it or I could get
into trouble for it.
