This document provides a production plan for a film to be released on March 8, 2019. Contingency plans are in place if actors or locations become unavailable. The film will require 4 actors and 1 crew member. Most equipment will be provided by the school free of charge. The projected budget is £47. Legal considerations include obtaining permissions for underage actors, copyrighting the film and logo, and ensuring royalty-free music is used. The film is targeted to 12A audiences. Feedback was received to add backstory scenes and cast experienced actors to improve the film.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
2. Launch Dates
• I will be aiming to release my film on the 8th of March 2019. I have
chosen this date as it will be a Friday which is at the end of the
working week so it will allow my target audience to have the Saturday
and Sunday to watch my film without any stresses of work which will
hopefully help them to enjoy it.
• The release of my film does not clash with any seasonal or local
events although weekly events in town such as AFC Bournemouth
playing could interrupt the viewing of my film.
3. Contingency Plan
I have created a contingency plan as a precaution in case anything was
to go wrong during filming
If any actors were to become unavailable for the scheduled filming
dates, I will leave enough time to re-schedule to later dates. I will
appoint backup actors if the preferred actors can’t make it.
If my chosen location were to be unavailable, I will have a backup
location near to the preferred location so it will be easy for all us to get
to.
All footage and sound will be saved onto my school documents and
personal OneDrive.

6. Cast & Crew
In my film I will need to cast 4 actors; 2 main actors to play Jason and
Harvey, then 2 actors to play supporting roles. I shall also require one
crew member to help me with the equipment used within the film.
Actors should be of a high quality, who are confident in front of the
camera and should be able to sell the authenticity of their roles to the
audience. My crew member will be helping my with the equipment
such as the use of tripod and holding the microphone during scenes.
All actors and crew members will be doing this free of charge which will
therefore not affect the budget of my film. However, some of my cast
will be under 18 therefore I will require a permission slip from the
parent/guardian which I will upload to blogger.
8. Budget
• Most of the equipment I use, such as the Cannon 700d or a tripod,
will be provided by the school so will be free
• There will also be no charges to use any of the locations
• Nor will there be charges for music as they will all be royalty free from
Bensound.
9. Legal Considerations
• The footage I film will be legally owned by me as I have filmed it. To protect my
footage I should copyright so other creators would need my permission in the
future to use my future. They may even have to pay a fee to use my footage.
Some of the actors used in my film are under 18 so I will need a permission form
from their parents. Within the form I will inform them that the film will be
uploaded to short of the week, an online website anyone could use.
10. Legal Considerations
• I will be designing my title logo so it will be owned by me. Again, to protect this I
should copyright this to protect this from others using it for their film. This
creates a uniqueness to my company as audiences will be able to recognise that it
was made by me. If any other creators were to use this logo, that film would have
to be taken down for copyright infringement. If I were to use a different logo, I
would need to check if it were protected by copyright to see if I could use it or
not.
11. Legal Considerations
• If I were to use any special effect then I would need to contact the
owner to check if they were copyrighted. This could mean I would
need to spend a small fee or contact the owner to gain their
permission.
• Some people think that special effects improve the quality of the film.
However if I were to use special effect without the permission of the
owner my film could be removed for breaching the copyfright
infringement laws.
12. Legal Considerations
• I am going to use sound effects/music downloaded from the website
Bensound. This is because all the music created on the site is royalty
free meaning there are no copyright laws protecting it. If I were to use
sound effects or music from a different website, I would need to ask
for permission to use it. Sound effects/music help to convey the
current mood of the scene to the audiences. As I am not using any
copyrighted music, my film will not be taken down for using it.
13. Ethical Considerations
• I believe my film would be rated at a 12A. This means that anyone
under the age of 12 should be accompanied to watch this. I believe
this because the target audience of my film are teenagers and none of
the scenes exclude this age category. However a full classification
would be made by the BBFC.
• I want my film to be classified a 12A as it would allow me to reach out
to my target audience. If this were to be certified for an older age it
could reduce the scope of my market which would be bad for my film.
If this were to happen people under for age of the certification would
not legally permitted to watch this film.
14. Ethical Considerations
• None of the footage recorded or published in my film will not be
offensive or discriminatory to any groups of society. However, there is
one violent scene in my film where blood is shown. This is why I have
chosen for people under the age of 12 must be accompanied my an
adult. If my film were to include such content then the BBFC would
change the age certificate to an increased age or they may even deem
my film not suitable to watch and could even remove it.
15. Ethical Considerations
• My film will be uploaded to Short of the Week initially but if it were to
pick up significant recognition other broadcasting companies could
pay for the rights to stream the film. Short of the Week say that all
films must be free to watch and less than 40 minutes long. My film
falls within this as it will be approximately 5 minutes. They also
require all films to have all right necessary secured. This means it is
essential for me to gain the rights to use any other material used in
my film.
16. Revised Pre-Production
After my pitch, the panel advised me to add a bit more character back story to the
storyline. This would help for the audience to get a clearer image on the film
therefore making it easier to make a connection with each character. I could
implement this by adding a flash back scene into my film which would easily give
the audience a good insight into each characters lives.
Another piece of feedback I received from the panel was to cast good actors. This
would ensure that the audience would be able to believe the actors could fulfil the
personalities of the characters. To guarantee this I will cast an experienced actor
who will be able to act on a high level which would set my film at a high standard.
