1. The Crucible Character Analysis Essay
Crafting a "The Crucible Character Analysis Essay" can be quite challenging due to the
multifaceted nature of the characters in Arthur Miller's renowned play. The characters in "The
Crucible" are richly textured, each harboring complex motives, conflicts, and relationships.
Analyzing these characters requires a deep understanding of the historical context, the author's
intentions, and the subtle nuances that shape the personalities within the narrative.
One of the difficulties lies in navigating the layers of symbolism and allegory present in the play.
Arthur Miller used the Salem witch trials as a backdrop to comment on the McCarthy era,
adding an additional layer of complexity to the characters. Unraveling the connections between
the characters and their real-life counterparts while deciphering the allegorical elements demands
a keen analytical eye and a nuanced understanding of historical and literary contexts.
Moreover, delving into the psychological intricacies of characters like John Proctor, Abigail
Williams, or Reverend Hale requires a deep dive into their motivations, moral dilemmas, and
personal transformations throughout the play. It's not merely about summarizing their actions but
deciphering the underlying motives and the impact of societal pressure on their decisions.
Crafting a coherent and compelling argument in the essay also poses its own set of challenges.
Balancing textual evidence with insightful analysis, avoiding oversimplification, and ensuring a
clear and cohesive structure demand both critical thinking and effective writing skills.
In conclusion, writing a "The Crucible Character Analysis Essay" is a task that necessitates a
thorough understanding of the play's historical and literary context, a keen eye for symbolism,
and the ability to navigate the complex web of relationships and motives within the characters.
It's a challenging yet rewarding endeavor that demands both intellectual rigor and eloquent
expression.

2. Growing Up Essays
What does it mean to grow up? Does it mean washing your car, paying your bills,
getting a job? Does it mean getting married, having kids, and sprouting gray hair?
Is it necessary? Is everyone capable of it? Is it going to be hard and will it be worth
the effort? All of these questions are probably what made Peter Pan decide to
never leave Neverland. Growing up means a lot of different things to many
different people. If we look at the words growing up , we simply think of the
physical aspect of ageing, growing tall and wide. But for most people, growing up
means something deeper involving a change in the approach that an individual has to
life and the actions that are taken with it. In this essay, we will look at why people

They can t just be told. Mistakes are made and we are held accountable. Such
mistakes could include simple things when we are young like hitting your younger
sibling, or they could be as adults like not paying your bills. Sometimes, we have to
make the mistake in order to be able to correct it. We look at the mistake we made,
for example, cheating on a test. We are pleased with the score. However, we see
that we did not receive the grade that was deserved. The other students all put in
long hours of studying and in turn earned their good grades. When something like
this happens an immature person would not think much of it and move on, but a
person who has grown spiritually into a person with morals will not feel
comfortable with this result, and probably not do it again. That is one form of
growing up. It is important to feel responsibility for the actions that have been
taken. The next step is reacting in a productive way to that responsibility. In order
to assume responsibility, we have to have a sense of right and wrong which is
only naturally learned by living life. When responsibility is accepted, we have
begun to see the truth and reality of our situation, as Peck describes. Dedication to
truth is heavily involved with the concept of accepting responsibility because for
people to see blame in themselves, they have to have a clear plane of reality that
shows the necessity of a solution from them. The eyes have to be

5. Tutorial Time Essay
There are moments when a student stays up extremely late working on their
homework, a project, or studying for a test. They are consistently wishing for
additional time to complete their tasks and assignments. Schools, over the course
of the years, have developed a schedule and has added an extra period called
Tutorial. Tutorial is usually used in a block schedule. Instead of having six periods,
students are now having seven altogether, but depending on a school policy the
conditions of Tutorial may vary. The time for each class is deducted by a few
minutes and this is used to construct a tutorial period. Tutorial is a period where
students get to spend their time working on their homework. It is a period which lasts
about a total of one hour. Tutorial allows students the ability to go to a class of their
choice, especially a class they need help in. Teachers are also allowed send or
request students to a class to makeup a test or missing work. During a tutorial period,
students are allowed to work on their homework, study for an upcoming test, or ask a
teacher for help. Tutorial is not a period where students get to only work on their
homework, but they also get to communicate with their teachers, classmates, and
friend for help with school work. Students in tutorial also talk with... Show more

6. The Prevalence Of Pressure Ulcers
The prevalence of pressure ulcers in elderly patients is of an epidemic proportion
(Bansal, Scott, Stewart, Cockerell, 2005). The annual cost of treating pressure
ulcers in the United States (U.S.) is estimated at more than $20 billion and is
increasing (Jones, 2013). Pressure ulcers occur when an injury is caused to the
skin and underlying tissue at the pressure points resulting in transient or
permanent damage to the underlying tissue (Margolis, 1995). The prevalence is
seen in patients who are immobile because of chronic health conditions or lying on
hard surfaces for prolonged periods (Pham et al., 2011). A pressure ulcer can be
disruptive and disabling to frail elderly patients (Landi, Onder, Russo Bernabei,
2007). A pressure ulcer can also result in complications, which can lead to mortality
(Nigel Chow, 2002; Gary, Berlowitz Paul, 2001). Development of pressure ulcers is
no longer limited to acute or sub acute facilities alone. As the population is aging,
more elderly are receiving heath care in their homes (Ablaza Fisher, 1998). As a
result, all stages of pressure ulcers are also seen in the homes (Park Lee Caffrey,
2009). However, there are limited studies that show the magnitude of the problem
when compared to acute, sub acute, and nursing homes (Asimus Li, 2011). This
project will conduct a retrospective chart review at a community based primary care
provider to determine the prevalence of pressure ulcers among elderly individuals

Family Health Assessment
Family health assessments are an interactive way to gather information regarding
family history and dynamics, level of knowledge and interaction. Families provide the
structure for many health promotion practices; therefore, family assessment informs
health promotion and disease prevention appraisal . (Edelman, Kudzma, Mandle,

appropriate wellness diagnoses will be identified. Including the whole family is

Self perception and role relationships were discussed with the individuals separately
and then together. The family dynamics are very traditional. While both parents work
outside the home, all four members of the family agreed separately that the adult
male was the disciplinarian. The adult female was frustrated at times with the lack of
support from all members with household chores, describing the men in the
household as lazy . The oldest child stated that the parents were easier on and had
less expectations for the youngest. All members seemed to have respect and love for
the others and the boys were respectful of their parents.
Sexuality was the most uncomfortable topic for the boys to discuss. They left the
room when their parents answered questions. The adults both felt their sex life
was satisfying but not as frequent as they would like due to other household

8. Bad Jews Play Analysis
Bad Jews, written by Joshua Harmon, directed by Dana Friedman Resnick, and
produced by PURE Theatre Company, is the story of a broken, modern day Jewish
family in Manhattan, New York Upper West Side. In the wake of their grandfather s
death, three surviving grandchildren must work out their differences over the
possession a family heirloom. I believe the play explores the concept of religion and
how each cousin deals with the ideas and beliefs instilled in them through their
Jewish background. To me, it seems the playwright was attempting to explain the
importance of accepting other peoples beliefs and cultures, most importantly those of
family. However, Harmon put a negative spin on the lesson by giving his characters

9. Conflict Competent Leadership Skills
Managers and team leaders should be trained to be identify conflict and how to
defuse the conflict. Runde and Flanagan, (2013) said that, becoming conflict
competent involves developing cognitive, emotional, behavioral and normative skills
in order to address the inevitable conflicts faced in organizational life. Conflict
Competent Leaders are also trained mediators. Mediation can be effective at allowing
parties to vent their feelings and fully explore their grievances. Mediators encourage
parties to share information about their situations and explore innovative means of
coming together (Program on Negotiation, 2016). Emotional intelligence refers to the
ability to perceive, control and evaluate emotions. Thus a neutral mediator must have
emotional intelligence skills to be impartial. Some researchers suggest that emotional
intelligence can be learned and strengthened, while others claim it is an inborn
characteristic Cherry, (n.d.).

to cool down, slow down and reflect, then engage conflict constructively (Runde

where business is discussed and may lead to something much more substantial, like
getting salary and promotional benefits. Wanting to work with people you like is

10. The Pros And Cons Of Eugenics
Eugenics is the science of improving the qualities of the human species or a human
population by controlled breeding to increase the occurrence of desirable heritable
characteristic traits and decrease the occurrence of undesirable characteristic traits or
genetical defects (Webster, 1828.) Eugenic sterilizationrefers to the involuntary
sterilizationof certain categories of individuals without their need for consent by
those subjected to the procedure (Pozgar, 2012, Pg. 411.) Individuals classified as
mentally deficient, feeble minded, epileptic, promiscuous, sexual deviants, or
persons classified as habitual criminals were mainly targeted (Pozgar, 2012, Pg.
411.) Eugenicists argued degenerate traits tainted society through the reproduction
of the lowest class and sterilization was to keep the handicapped from perpetuating
themselves (Kaelber, 2014.) In addition, eugenicists also argued that feeble minded
individuals were believed to be financial burdens to society by overcrowding
prisons, hospitals and living off welfare (Kaelber, 2014.) Sterilization was seen as a
way to prevent the spending of tax dollars on the feeble minded (Kaelber, 2014.)
These arguments allowed Eugenicsto become an acceptable practice. Advocates
believed that getting rid of the feeble minded and mentally deficient would decrease
the undesirable characteristic traits within the human gene pool and ultimately
improve the human population. The very first sterilization law was passed in

Norm Violations Paper
As we know, norms are social expectations that guide our behavior. In this paper, I
will discuss norm violations that I ve observed, and my own personal norm
violation that I committed. I will describe what happened, what was done, and the
reactions of the people around when these norms begat. I will also discuss the
significance of folkways, mores, values, and sanctions to my observations.
There were two norms in which I observed. The first violation I spotted was a bit...
out of the ordinary. One day, I decided to take a trip to the Marketplace on Ming
with one of my buddies. All was seemingly normal until we stumbled upon a sight
that shocked both of us. It was around 7:30 p.m. when we walked upon a pack of
humans standing in a circle with their dogs. They were located where the suit
stores and black tables are. As we first walked up, there seemed to be only a few
dogs and a few humans. As we drew nearer, though, we found that there were at
least 30 humans and 30 dogs. That was unbelievable. As we got within sight of the
subjects, they all turned and looked at us at the same exact time. Both the human
faction and the dogs simultaneously turned to us. My friend and I could not, at the
time, decipher which party was in control, the humans or the dogs? My friend and I
decided that this sight was... too much... so we decided to slowly walk away in a
backward manner. Having

13. The Pros And Cons Of Rudolf Diesel
In the year 1885 Rudolf Diesel sets up a small shop in Paris to begin developing an
engine that would forever change the way we look at transportation. Rudolf was
trying to design an engine to run off compression ignition to replace the costly steam
locomotive. His research lasted around 13 years before showing a successful test of a
slow burning, efficient, compression ignition engine. diesels had his first running
engine built on February 17,1897 with an efficiency of 26.7% v.s the steam engines
efficiency at 10%.
Rudolf had paved the path for modern diesel engines, quickly evolving from running
on coal dust to having computerized injectors with injection so microscopic water is
incapable of traveling through in a little over a century. ... Show more content on

One pro of diesel engines is also a con. While a diesel engine is an internal
combustion engine it fires off of the heat of the engine. The heat is caused from the
friction inside the cylinders, this causes the engine to have a little less
maintenance and run more efficiently. The con of diesel engines combustion off of
cylinder heat is in northern climates it isn t always warm enough for the engine to
maintain enough heat to run. They solved this problem in the northern climates by
installing glow plugs and block warmers. Glow plugs are used to heat the fuel
before it gets injected into the cylinder helping the motor start because the heat
needed for combustion isn t used to warm the fuel. Block warmers are a small
heater that is placed in a soft plug hole on the side of the engine and helps keep the
coolant warm so that the block stays warm while the truck is sitting for a week or a
few minutes. Cold weather can cause more then just starting issues for diesel
engines it can cause them to just shut off from a lack of fuel, the diesel itself will gel
in cold weather and be like a jello like substance and then needs additives added to
the fuel to be bring it back to its original

Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and
women in the United States? 735,000 people have a heart attack each year and Вј of
the deaths in the U.S. are because of heart related issues. To make one quarter

land and that s not even including the methane emissions from the animals digestive
system that is put into the environment. Are these two related you may ask? And I

management and they feel if they have all their suppliers in less places its easier
for them to keep track of their operations. For example , in fords European
operations, the old escort model took parts from around 700 direct suppliers, while
the newer focus model used only 210 (future models may have less than 100) Slack
(Chambers and Johnston, 2007, p. 152).
Companies that do not use vertical integration will outsource. Large firms and
companies may chose to outsource different operations within their supply chain to
smaller companies for different things. One common source of outsourcing is for
transportation. Transportation is a very important part of the supply chain. It links
each part of the chain together. There are links between suppliers where
transportation is needed and obviously links between the manufactures and their
customers, high street stores for instance.
Outsourcing is a very common practice for companies. They purchase goods and
services from outside their company in pure market fashion. Companies will search
for the best priced supplier every time in order to keep costs down. Smaller
companies may outsource a lot of their operations Few Companies will have the
expertise or the inclination to create, make and market their products by themselves.
Companies will focus on what they do

Implementation Plan The implementation process is a crucial part to piloting a
different hospital process, therefore, a well planned and thought out implementation
plan is imperative to the project success (Draft, 2004). It is essential the
implementation plan utilizes a project management process, including project
initiation, planning and execution phases (Chow, Woodford Lambe, 2013)

The Malnutrition Steering Committee will analyze risks and benefits of
implementing a pilot project within NYGH. Once all preliminary planning is
complete, the Malnutrition Steering Committee will formally present the current
screening analysis and project plan to Senior Leadership, including data collection,
efficiency, and cost benefit analysis. The Committee will illustrate how this change
aligns with the hospital s strategic plan by highlighting its potential to decrease the
length of stay, improving patient nutritional status and support inter professional
patient family centered care and innovation initiatives. The Committee will also
present to staff on both units the current Canadian malnutrition research, highlight
new ways of detecting malnutrition, one being the new MST, and opportunities this
change will present. Communicating the urgency to change the tool, would promote

21. Kalamazoo Water Reclamation Plant
Wastewater treatment systems are very important to providing clean, drinkable water
to its surrounding societies. These systems also help in the removal of contaminants
in wastewater from household sewage, runoff, domestic, commercial and institutional
units. Processes include physical, chemical and biological manipulation of
contaminants to neutralize their effects on the human body for consumption. There
are three main types of treatment, primary, secondary and tertiary, all of which have
separate units and processes that flow in an organized manner to ultimately end up
with recycled potable water.
First in primary treatment the sewage is temporarily held in a quiescent basin where
heavy solids settle to the bottom while other contaminants such as oil, grease and
lighter solids float to the top. Commonly used procedures involve bar screens with
washer compactors that remove a majority of non fine solid material waste. Other
airs is added to settle solids for grit removal. Fine screens as also used to capture the
finer waste material that flows through the primary larger hole bar screens. They can
often have two different sizes of bar screens that help in removing as much sold
material waste before moving onto secondary treatment. The finer screens are used to
capture plastics that come into the system.
Secondary treatment removes dissolved material and biological matter that is
suspended between the top and bottom of the tank. Secondary treatment involves the

22. Machiavellis The Prince Essay
The state is the highest achievement of man, a progressive and elaborate creation of
his free will. The individual, the leader, the people, cooperate in maintaining it.
This idea of state was put forth by Niccolo Machiavelli in The Prince, which was in
essence a ruler s handbook to governing and maintaining his land. Machiavelli
conjured his theories for government by basing his ideas in his belief that men,
especially men in power, tend to follow the same directions, and therefore by
looking at past leaders and their follies we can better determine how to run a state.

That was the case even up to the early and mid twentieth with commanders in chief
such as Theodore Roosevelt, a cavalry commander and navy man, or even Dwight
D. Eisenhower, a supreme commander of the Allied forces in World War II. These
men, as Machiavelli described, knew the art of war first hand, but as the years
passed and our nation become more industrious and powerful, the idea of having
war as you re first and foremost area of knowledge and interest slowly drifted into
the background. And while quite a few of former twentieth and twenty first century
presidents had served in the armed forces in some capacity, they were and continue
to be far from Machiavelli s ideas of a solely war driven leader, in our country. Even
though our leaders today are not necessarily war driven men, they do still hold to the
fact that military strength and power are important. This is shown in many different
areas, first men and women are being constantly trained and recruited to our armed
forces; whether it be army, navy, marines or some other division, these people make
up the strong military that backs our president and country. Not only is our military
strength in our armed forces, but in our knowledge as well. Many mathematicians
and scientists around the country work everyday on developing new weapons, and
putting them to work for our military.
Machiavelli not only outlines the importance of military readiness, but also the very
characteristics a prince needs in order to

24. Comparing Heroes In Star Wars And The Magic Flute
In many plays and movies, the plot of them will follow a hero who is on a quest.
This holds true for the movies, Children of Men, Star Wars: A New Hope and the
opera, The Magic Flute. The quest follows the hero s, Theo, Luke and Tamino. Even
though the three different story has many similarities of the heros, all white young
men, well liked by the other characters and they all complete their quest with
success. The main differences with the hero s quests is that the two movies and the
opera are tailored to different audiences. Children of Men was produced for a more
niche group of filmgoers, who would get all the symbolic meaning throughout the
film. Star Wars was made for a wide group of sci fi movie lovers to get them hooked

from the Death Star and the Empire. They meet up with the additional characters of

Leia. Ultimately Luke witness Obi Wan s death, but gain the plans to the Death
Star, then joins the rebels as a pilot and helps destroys the Death Star and in the
end, saves the day and is presented with a medal from princess Leia. Star Wars a
New Hope follows the arc of a hero s quest very well. The difference from the hero
s quest in the previously mentioned movie and opera is who Star Wars was
intended for. Star Wars was written for Sci Fi fans that could get invested in this
huge fictional universe that is about to be built up. Because of this intention from
the film creators to gain Si Fi fans for a long time, Luke s quest as the hero of the
film really makes him the audience will focus on. The audience will be curious to
see if this will be the character they will be following for many years to come in the
franchise. Fortunately the reviews of the film loved it, as seen from Charles

25. Tom Brady Research Paper
Love him or hate him, you can t deny the success of Tom Brady. The question is, is
he the greatest of all time, though? Advocates for Brady will point out how no
other quarterback in NFL history has been as productive when it matters most and
almost no one has been able to beat Father TIme quite like he has. The detractors
on the other hand will just emphasise the scandals he has been through and the all
around talent level of teams he s been on. Either way, Tom Brady has accomplished
what other players can t even fathom. The case for Brady is simple. No other player
in NFL history has been to seven Super Bowls and only one other player has won as
many (five) as Brady has. Though Charles Haley, a defensive lineman for the

Considering that it is well known that most teams cheat in one way or another, but
just don t get caught, it is easy to look past the troubles he s been though. At the
same time though, the fact that he did get caught makes it worst. In my opinion,
there is no discussion when it comes to best ever. Going into his fifth, and possibly
NOT final Super Bowl, Brady was considered to be the best, yet still had major
competition with Joe Montana. Montana, who won four championships, never lost
one, unlike Brady. The thing that puts Brady over the top for me, cementing him
as greatest of all time, is the fact that he was able to come back from an
unprecedented 25 point deficit in the game s biggest stage. When it comes to
sports there are never finite answers to these type of questions, but with Brady
playing at the level he is going into his 40 s there is no telling what he can still do
in his career. In three years, most likely when the greatest of all time is set to retire,
he may have one or two more rings to add to the collection, possibly ending the
conversation once and for

Organized societies frequently associate religions with them. The United States is
mostly Christian. North African countries are overwhelming Muslim ( Global ).
Across the world, the number of religions possibly reaches the thousands due to
various sects and circumstances. When analyzing religion, each example has different
origins, but a general understanding of religionis necessary, and an interesting
relationship between religion and society will appear. While one cannot define every
known religion in a concise, comprehensive manner, Merriam Webster defines
religion as a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and
practices. This definition applies to every religion because an individual... Show more

Logically, people make decisions that will create the best result for themselves or
society, so religion provides a strategy in these decisions to maintain a desired moral
standing. One s worldview determines how he treats other people, justifies his
decisions, and prevents natural anxiety, which can become an individual neurosis
(Freud 56). Religion essentially instructs individuals how to respond to every
situation and problem in life, and it connects multiple people through society.
Machiavelli particularly recognized how a society s religion relates people and
levels of power. Religious states are simply states whose rulers and most citizens
share a specific religion. He claims states led by religion are maintained by their
long established institutions and support their rulers in power no matter how they
live and behave (Machiavelli 36), meaning they do not rebel against their ruler and
do not feel the need to overthrow their ruler (Machiavelli 36). If a ruler follows the
same religion as the people, a ruler who whole heartedly follows the religion should
never have any conflicts with the people. This relationship drives good
communication between subjects and rulers, and it builds a level of trust that allows
rulers more freedom to lead how they want,

There are a variety of instabilities and inequities associated with the expansion of
tourism. If the social costs of infinite growth (human consequences of ecological
pollution, centralized concentration of power, inequitable income distribution) are as

38. Southern Culture In The 1930 s
In the 1930 s there was a lot of racial tensions and expectations for southern culture.
Things are different now than they were back then like the culture, but especially
gender roles in the south. Southern culture in the 1930 s had very specific customs
on everyday life. The article Life In The Plantation South . Said that most
southerners didn t experience much weath. The fortunate few were call the tidewater
aristocrats. They were the fortunate few who lived in stately plantation manors with
hundreds of servants and slaves. Besides the lucky few, the rest lived off of little and
had a rough life. So in the south there was a huge contrast between rich and poor. In

There was also a lot of laws also known as jim crow laws. These laws were acted to
keep people in their place and there intensions were to be separate but equal. In the
article Jim Crow Laws Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site One law that
seems fine today wasn t back then, you couldn t marry someone with a different race,
just because of the color on their skin and if you do so the marriage will be voided

amature baseball players had to be within two blocks away from each other. That
law was so outrageous because all they want to do is have fun and do what they
love but they have to remember to be be two blocks away from them. Manners is
very important to the south, you would always say yes sir or mam. African
American people especially had to speak a certain way which was called Jim Crow
Etiquette. For example they had to call white males Boss or Master. Which was
extremely unfair because they were called rude names like Boy and old man
instead of being called something that means you re the boss or your master or
you have a higher stature. It was the same for woman too they didn t have a good
name like miss or Mrs they were called auntie or girl. You can definitely tell a
difference how white or african american people were treated and talked

Most contemporary scholars and historians dismiss this source as unreliable and in
many places entirely wrong, in any event, there is no mention of King Arthur in Gilda
s writings. This absence of early written sources pertaining to King Arthur suggests
three hypotheses:
1)There is a document or written account that historians have not found or do not
have access to;
2)The history of King Arthur was an oral tale, passed down verbally through a
number of generations before it was recorded in written form; or,
3)King Arthur is solely a creation of Medieval, romantic literature.
Cadbury was inhabited as a military strong hold, in the Dark Ages, in Britain.
Whether it was occupied by King Arthur is not proven, what is proven is that the site
Camelot was used for what it was supposed to be used for at the right period in
British history. The truth is however, that attempts to identify Camelot are pointless.
The name and the very concept of Camelot are inventions of the
French Medieval poets
There is a tendency in our society, to romanticize the past, to mystify it to suit our
own imaginations and to fit our own conceptions of what we thought it must have

40. The s Front Door At Seven O Clock On A Sunday
Opening Sweetgreen s front door, I instantly felt out of place. At seven o clock on a
Sunday evening, the small salad shop was a place filled with almost all females. Even
though I was anticipating this result, I still found it hard to believe that this restaurant
was always occupied by entirely women. Upon asking an employee about whether my
observation was something that occurs often, he responded, we are Sweetgreen. Of
course, we get a lot more girls than guys. The fact that Sweetgreen attracts girls must
have something to do with how it brands itself. After having trouble finding any
advertisements for the brand online, I concluded that the marketing that attracts these
females must be in the store. After going back to Sweetgreen, I came to the
conclusion that whether intentional or not, Sweetgreen is marketed toward the
stereotypical femaleas seen through its core values, decor, menu options, and
service. Sweetgreen utilizes the fact that the mass media encourages women to
obtain a thin figure, as discussed by Susan Bordo in Hunger as Ideology, in order
to sell their product. Bordo explains that advertisements teach women to view long,
slim legs, a flat stomach, and a firm rear end as essentials of female beauty. (102)
Because advertisers constantly convince women that achieving a thin figure is
important, women eventually became self critical of their bodies. This causes
women to push toward this ideal image by losing weight by eating fewer calories. By
41. My Writing For My Life
My late grandma, Jan got me into writing when I was only ten years old. My
writing methods in addition to my sentence structures have evolved throughout the
years; however, I never really paid attention to my strengths and weakness as a
writer until I first entered 16SP Composition I (ENGL 112 A). My first assigned
essay was a reflection piece. Unfortunately, I lost my papa due to alcoholism; hence,
why I wrote about how his death in impacted in my first project. While looking over
the graded assignment, I noticed I had different strengths and weakness then I thought
I had. Using the resources I have been given will help me strengthen the four
strengths I notice; in addition to, fixing the four weakness that I dislike having.
The main reason I write is that I can escape from the world around m as well as
letting of the feeling at are locked up inside of me. The first strength I noticed
throughout my different assignments is that I produce excellent introduction starting
statements. I begin to write almost all my assignments with quotes because quotes
are the fancies. We re past the age of heroes and hero kings. ... Most of our lives are
basically mundane and dull, and it s up to the writer to find ways to make them
interesting. (John Updike, WD) this is the opening to the first paper I wrote for this

42. The Symbolism Of Fear In Film
What is fear? The film contains multiple symbols that set the mood of the story
and helps to portray what the director wants the viewer to feel. There are plenty of
examples that can be found within the film as well as the story. They express the
confusion and fear in that Mike was experiencing throughout the film, as well as the
written story.Films often have a certain palette of colors that help set the mood for
the viewers. The colors might be only shown during scenes of fear, excitement, or
despair. Then, when the colors are shown again, the viewer, without even knowing
sometimes, will feel that emotion portrayed in the previous scene. It is like a
warning that shows what is yet to come, or even a reminder of what has happened.

stories. He hesitates and then says, it s just a job. When Mike is in the hotel room
and events transpire, he continues to try to debunk the events and find an
explanation for them. He keeps trying to deny the existence of ghosts. Or does he?
Why does Mike continue to write ghost stories that barely sell enough for him to
make a living? Why doesn t he write something else that is more profitable?
Because, he wants to believe. He travels to hotel and house trying to find truly
haunting and tangible evidence that ghosts exist. Up until the Dolphin Hotel, he
has either been completely unsatisfied or has debunked every haunted hotel or
house he s been in. He enjoys the struggle of trying to find what he truly believes
in. There s a deeper message to be found in his work then it just being a job. After
he finally realizes that the Dolphin is haunted, he does something he s never done
before. He calls his ex wife that he hasn t talked to in years according to her. Why
would he? He has finally found the answers he s been looking for. He has finally

43. Health, Security And Major Factors Of Food Security
.Sebastian palmer. Discovery degree prepared public speaking pioneer, royal center.
Food security
Food security is defined as access by all people at all times to enough nutritionally
adequate and safe food {quality, quantity, and variety}.
Food security is affected by a number of factors, including primarily the food supply
and access to jobs and such basic services as education ,health
facilities, sanitation, clean water, safe housing. poverty , social inequality, and lack of
education are primary causes of hunger and malnutrition and are major obstacles to
obtaining food security.Food security cannot be ensured by producing more food .
if, for example, people cannot afford the food that is available , if their diets don t
have any essential vitamins and minerals , or if poor handling during processing and
distribution makes their food unsafe to eat . they will not have food security.
To achieve national security a country must be able to produce or import the food it
needs and be able to store it distribute it, and ensure equitable access to it . Given
population growth and rising incomes, it is estimated that the demand for food will
rise by 70 to 100 percent by 2050. To meet this need, the United Nations estimates that
production in developing countries will need to almost double.
USDA supports global food security through in country capacity building, basic and

44. Hercules of the Skies Essay
There were many important people, aircraft, and developments, which greatly
contributed to aviation development, which ultimately impacted the World. Out of
many aviation developments, I will write about an aircraft I take pleasure in seeing
and hearing, the C 130 Hercules. I consider this aircraft has made a significant
impact in the aviation industry, most in the dependability of the airframe and its
illustrious design. Today, this aircraft is used for many organizations such as
Military Ops, firefighting, and search and rescue. The military is the primary user of
this aircraft, for it uses it for many tactical operations. But what makes this aircraft so
grand? The ability to land on short runways and the ability to fly slow with load,...

It is modernized with computer systems instead of steam gauges. What I think
makes the C 130 in general momentous, is the number of international countries that
are using this airframe. Over 60 countries are using this aircraft and it is no surprise
since it has been in operation since the 50 s! ( Air Force Technology (2011, May 5)).
A big contribution to this outstanding airframe has to be given to the developers, the
company Lockheed or Lockheed Martin. An astonishing fact is that the same
company has made this aircraft for over 50 years; this just shows that Lockheed
knows how to design and manufacture lasting aircraft to persevere with modern
technology. I would say that the years this aircraft has been in service is enough in
itself to say how it impacted the aviation industry, giving it new means of how to
create lasting aircraft for the high demand for its operations.
A few decades ago, the military needed an upgrade on its cargo and troop carrying
capabilities. In the 1950 s, the less modern World War II cargo aircraft were the C
190, C 47, and C 46 s. These did not meet the requirements for a continuously
modernizing U.S. Military. (Simpson, M. (2011, October 19)). Therefore, in 1951,
the U.S. Air Force put out a General Operating Requirement for a new airframe that
will meet specifications in the category s of how many passengers or paratroopers it
will hold, as well as size

Josephine Baker, and Eslanda Robeson had both similarities and differences in the
process of advancing the African American masses during the nineteenth and

organizations such as the NAACP and WILPF where they fought for civil rights and

46. Environmentalism And Environmentalism
As technology continues to advance, so does one s level of research. The internet
provides a plethora of information to those seeking answers to pertinent questions
questions specifically regarding health and environmentalism. Before the internet,
people typically relied on advice from friends, doctors, or sayings. We ve all heard
an apple a day keeps the doctor away. But now that the times are changing and more
information is readily available at the click of our smart phone, is it time to question
information that has been engrained in us since childhood. Veganism, a plant based
diet that has become increasingly more popular in the past few years, arguably is a
not a trend, and perhaps adopting this way of living could in fact save the planet. In
his article, Go Vegan, save the planet, Wang acknowledges that going Vegan is not an
easy transition. It requires overcoming our habits and our tastes, learning new ways
to cook, planning during travel, and navigating the social aspects of eating and meal
sharing (Wang, George C). Environmentalismand humanity have a direct correlation
when it comes to the consumption of animals. To eat or not to eat? Ethical or not
ethical? Is one following their moral compass before devouring beef? However,
author of Being vegan isn t as good for humanity as you think, Chase Purdy suggest
the only way to reach environmental efficiency is by throwing vegans a bone. When
applied to an entire global population, the vegan diet wastes
47. Hotel Room And Occupancy Rates
Our industry, the Global Hotels and Resorts, experienced strong growth over the five
years to 2015. Over the five year period, both consumers and businesses became more
confident about their finances and spent freely on luxuries, including travel. This
culminated in a substantial increase in travel rates and hotelroom and occupancy
rates, two indicators of a hotel s performance. Travel spending has also picked up
quickly, especially in emerging economies where tourism is on the rise. Global
tourist arrivals are expected to increase an annualized 4.8% over the five years to

Over the five years to 2020, revenue is projected to increase at an annualized rate of
3.4% to $978.7 billion. In 2016 there will be some new trends emerging as hotels
will have to compete with growing popularity of companies such as Airbnb.
Millennials have shifted the focus from hotel loyalty to more novelty related
experiences. The overarching experience that many of these hotels in the industry
are shifting to is updated bars and lounges that spill into the lobby. Renovation will
be on the upswing over the next few years as guests desire more technology, more
stimulating social experiences, and better food and snack choices. Hotels will be
looking to charge more fees and surcharges on amenities as occupancy rates increase.
This goes without saying, demand drives prices, and the hotel industry will be in the
driver s seat in the coming years.
Key external drivers which drive our industry are: 1) global tourist arrivals (Trends in
international and domestic visitor flights and their length of stay influence demand
for accommodations. A rise in international and domestic trips positively affects
demand for hotels and resorts. The number of global tourist arrivals is expected to
increase in 2015), 2) global consumer sentiment index (Trends in international and
domestic visitor flights and their length of stay influence demand for
accommodations. A rise in international and domestic trips positively affects demand
