Benefits Of College Education Essay
Crafting an essay on the benefits of a college education can be both challenging and rewarding.
On one hand, there is a plethora of information available, showcasing the positive impacts that a
college education can have on an individual's life. From improved career prospects to enhanced
critical thinking skills, the benefits are diverse and well-documented.
However, the challenge lies in presenting these advantages in a cohesive and compelling manner.
It requires thorough research to gather relevant data and statistics, coupled with the ability to
synthesize this information into a well-structured and logical argument. Moreover, striking the
right balance between providing factual evidence and expressing personal opinions is crucial to
maintain the essay's credibility.
The writer must navigate through various perspectives on the topic, addressing potential
counterarguments and providing a nuanced view. Additionally, incorporating real-life examples
and success stories can add depth to the essay, making it more relatable and engaging for the
reader.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to maintaining a consistent tone and style throughout the
essay, ensuring that the message is conveyed clearly and persuasively. It's not just about listing
benefits but about creating a narrative that captures the reader's attention and leaves a lasting
impression.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on the benefits of a college education may be demanding,
the opportunity to explore and articulate the advantages that higher education offers is
intellectually stimulating. The process involves research, critical thinking, and effective
communication skills – all essential components of a well-rounded education.

What Is The Concept Of Fear In Frankenstein
Frankenstein, a book that was made to bring fear takes a bigger bite out of
psychological fear than nail biting action. Mary Shelley wrote this book on a
challenge, a challenge to make a frightening book, but the fear that the common
public thinks of is far from the type of fear seen in Frankenstein. This type of fear
that the public commonly thinks of is far from what Mary Shelley uses. because of
this unusual writing style it poses a very good slate for the fear that the monster
imposes on the characters and the reader. Because of Frankensteins underlying
unknown concepts this book proves to be a very hefty dose of psychological and
philosophical horror. With this Mary Shelley is able to make the reader think about
their place in existence.
My Surprise At Your Surprise
I love to cook and to my surprise so do my kids. They are always eager to help me
anyway they can. I also find that letting them help prepare the meals adds to the
excitement of eating them, even the healthy veggies. When prepping to cook with
kids always make sure to have kid friendly tools that they can use. I allow them to
use butter knives to cut, slotted spoons, pots, pans, rolling pins and the cutting
board. When thinking of kid friendly menus remember to add you re twist on the
menu. Instead of just plain old boiled hot dogs let the kids slice them down the
middle a few times and place them in a pan of hot water, boil until done and when
you take them out they have a great octopus hot dog to place on a bowl of mac n
cheese or cover in ketchup and let them play sea monsters. When making cookies
allow them to roll out the dough and let them go at it with a few cookie cutters. If
no cookie cutter are available look around the house, play dough cutters work great
as well as cups and square blocks. If all else fails let them use their hands to make
shapes and re roll for correct thickness. My kids all time favorite recipe is
graveyard pudding. I prepare the pudding while they crush up some Oreo cookies
in zip lock baggies. Once the pudding is complete we sprinkle the cookie crumbs
over the top, and start decorating with gummy worms and various candies. This
recipe is fun and taste good. Letting the kids be hands on in the kitchen is a great life
tool for them. Not only
Analysis Of We Wear The Mask
The title of Dunbar s We Wear the Mask (1896) emphasizes the essential idea of the
poem, which is deception and illusion. The title is repeated in all three stanzas. This
tells the reader to keep the title in mind while reading the poem. The persona of
Dunbar is conveyed to the reader in first person, which has a strong contributed to the
message of the poem along with the rhythm and word choice. It shows the repulsive
worldDunbar lives in and the masking of his own true emotions throughout the poem.
Dunbar s emotional appeal enhances every mood in the poem from the need to hide
the true self, to the deep sorrow behind the mask, and to connecting the mask to how
humans must lie.
In the first stanza, Dunbar uses irony to express what the mask symbolizes. The
mask can represent several things from someone hiding behind a false expression
to the things people say and do that aren t honest. The main point of the poem
which describes the mask as a grin, but can lie . It hides our cheeks and shades our
eyes (Line 2) gives the reader a mental picture with the use of imagery. As well, the
extra spacing at the beginning of line two emphasizes the word hiding . This mask
hides its own existence, of agonizing misery and hardship. Many people put it on to
fit into society. When Dunbar says, With torn and bleeding hearts we smile , (Line
4) it explains the worldly power of the mask. The debt we pay to human guile, (Line
3) means the unhappiness they feel is related to them deceiving others. Both lines are
hyperboles that emphasize the struggle behind the mask. The figurative language not
only shows the theme of discernment, but shows its impact. In addition, applying the
words, we and our gives the poem an all inclusive feel which creates an auxiliary
meaning.
In the second stanza, Dunbar asks a rhetorical question to prove a point. One should
not let others make them suffer by hiding all feelings and emotions from society.
When he says, Why should the world be overwise, / In counting all our tears and
sighs? (Line 6 7), it contradicts the idea that this poem is universal with the phrase the
world . Throughout the poem, the time frame of the publication does not shift the
poem at all. But one would
Disadvantages Of Species Diversity
2. Species diversity:
Species are the most important unit of association in natural balance in terms of
gladly assessable pasture entities as units of organismal evolution. Species diversity
refers to the different types of living organisms on the Earth. This includes the many
types of birds, insects, plants, bacteria, fungi, mammals and more. Many differing
species often live to gather in communities depending on each other to provide their
needs. The study of species diversity is of necessity based primarily on comparative
and correlative research. The spatial area required to classify ecological community
for many organisms of interest (eg. tree plants, birds and most mammals) is merely
too large (and too difficult to define precisely) ... Show more content on

This approach relies on the objectivity of the Phylogenetic species concept and
applies in to the particularly of the morphological species concept, in terms of
shorting specimen in to groups. (Kottelat, 1997) consequently, estimates of species
diversity are used more often as the typical measure of overall biodiversity of that
area in particular. However, in practice it can be very difficult to quantify the
practical interactions flanked by the species within a population. Community
diversity is also useful to measure the genetic diversity and species richness also help
to measure the diversity and its conservation.
Biodiversity at its most basic level includes the full range of species on earth from
micro organisms such as viruses, bacteria through the multi cellular kingdom of
plants, animals and fungi. Thus, it refers to the variety of species within a region. It
measured on the basis of number of species in the region. Species richness varies
geographically. Out of an estimation 30 million species on earth, only one sixth has
been identified and authenticated in the past 200 years. Only 250,000 species of the
total stock are
An Analysis Of The Man In To Build A Fire By Jack London
To build a Fire by Jack London, the story goes the man went alone in the woods and
died. In the story, the man (main character) is responsible for his situations because
he didn t listen to the old timer, he thinks he is all that, and finally he wasn t able to
stay calm at all.
First, the man was responsible for his situation because he didn t listen to the old
timer. Even though the old timer told him not to go alone. The man went alone, but
he was with a dog along with him and went on a different trail away from the camp.
The old timer told him not to go in the woods when it was 32 degrees below. The
man went to the cold anyway.
Next, the man is responsible because he thinks he is all that. He forgot to build a fire

Nancy Newhall s This Is The American Earth
Portraying the sublime evolved as industrialization speed up manufacturing. Adams
aimed for a wider audience, as he believed only when the public sees the beauty of
the wilderness would they understand why conservation mattered. Adams understood
the photographer could play a vital role, rousing awareness and inciting action. He
saw this as his personal mission (Spaulding, 1995, pp. 217 218). This was evident in
Adams iconic partnership with Nancy Newhall and in their book, This Is the
American Earth published in 1960. Theirs was the quintessential book, bringing
conservation philosophy and naturephotographyto coffee tables across the nation

In 1963, Porter shared his trip down the Colorado River to capture what would be
lost if technological hubris prevailed. The Place No One Knew portrayed fragments
of the canyon rather than broad sweeping scenic landscapes. Many criticized the
book for too many close up and abstract images that contrasted light and dark features
of the canyon even though it did convey the hidden beauty of the canyon. Although
costly, $25, The Place No One Knew was a large format book with color images and
elegant craftsmanship of typographer and lithographer. One reviewer commented, the
book needed to be so large and to contain such high quality prints and exquisite
typography. By buying the book, particularly given its expensive price, Americans
could gain atonement; through consumption, they could help pay for the sins of the
nation (Dunaway, 2005, p. 181). Critics claimed Porter s photos demonstrated a
duality between portraying the aesthetics of nature with scientific understanding for
what is at stake. The Sierra Club continued work to protect the Colorado River along
with advocating protection for other natural resources. They published more books
communicating the struggles between progress and protection and this style of

The Meningoccal Infection
The Meningococcal infection is a potentially life threatening bacterial disease that
continues to be fatal in numerous parts of the world. Since the inception of the first
Meningococcal cases in the early 19th century, rates continue to fluctuate today. Of
particular note, the World Health Organisation has outlined that there are over 26
countries in the sub Saharan region alone that are overwhelmingly prone to the
infection (WHO, 2015). Despite this, Meningococcal has not been restricted to the
sub Saharan; current estimates determine that 1.2 million cases arise globally every
year. This is primarily due to the fact that the bacterium which causes the
Meningococcal disease, the Neisseria Meningitidis, is a carrier bacterium which can

Annotation In A Midsummer Night
In the play A Midsummer Night s Fantasy by William Shakespeare. Shakespeare
depicts four various types of adoration constrained affection, parental affection,
sentimental love, and entangled adoration. In the start of the play, we see a
constrained adoration amongst Theseus and Hippolyta the rulers of the Amazons
(David Bevington). Theseus notice in act 1 I charmed thee with my sword (David
Bevington), To depict that he won her with his sword as in the fight to win her
affection. In Act 5 scene 1, Hippolyta says My Theseus (David Bevington), this
shows she will wed him. Not certain if both of these characters are truly infatuated
or wedding since Theseus has won a fight. All through the story, it appears that His
affection for Hippolyta had most likely developed for her and driving them to be

Egeus appears to seem exceptionally instructing and strict. His character speaks to
that the father has the privilege of the way and the supervisor. The reason being is
despite the fact that Hermia is frantically infatuated with Lysander he rejects them
to wed. Egeus inclines toward Demetrius to wed her since he trusts that he is most
appropriate for her. As I would like to think I trust the reason Egeus won t need his
little girl to wed Lysander is on the grounds that he won t know him exceptionally
well. He likely knows Demetrius better as a character and, since he knows him
exceptionally well. possibly in Egeus brain, he is by all accounts most appropriate
for her. Likewise, every father needs the best for their little girl and needs them to
be cheerful. He may trust that Demetrius will convey bliss to her more than
Lysander on the grounds that since he knows him well than Lysander in his eyes he
s the ideal man for her. Despite the fact that each father needs their little girl to be
happy, they ought to hear her out too as opposed to settling on their own

GENDER EQUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY IN

1.0INTRODUCTION
1.1Essence of Gender, Gender Equality and the Environment
Gender refers to the different roles, rights and responsibilities of men and women and
the relationships between them, their qualities, behaviours, and identities which are
determined through the process of socialisation to define their relationships with each
other and with their environment. Gender equality on the other hand is a principle
that equates men and women before and under the law; men and women have equal
dignity (worthiness); and have equal opportunities in economic, political, cultural and
social life. It is upon this background that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the domestic level, the objective is to provide sustainable safe water and hygienic
sanitation facilities, within easy reach, based on management responsibility and
ownership by users, to 77% of the population in rural areas and 100% in urban areas
by year 2015. Concerning water for production, the aim is to promote development of
water supply for agricultural production in order to modernise agriculture and
mitigate effects of climatic variations on rain fed agriculture (MWLE, 1999). In
essence, the overall policy objective is to manage and develop the water resources
of Uganda in an integrated and sustainable manner, so as to secure and provide
adequate quantity and quality of water for all social and economic needs of the
present and future generations. The Government aims at full participation of all
stakeholders with an 80 90% target for effective use and functionality of facilities.
Other policy measures have also been put in place by the Environment and Natural
Resources Sector Working Group which commissioned a study on the use of
economic instruments for environmental management. Curbing water pollution was a
key implementation factor for environmental sustainability. In 1998, the government
introduced a water waste discharge fee ranging from 0 to 13 million Ugandan shillings

Morality of War and Peace
Exam #1
For Aquinas, there are three conditions for Just War. The first is that the war must
be declared by authority of a head of state or a proper authority. The requirement for
a war to be declared comes from the Roman law. There is no specific time limit
between hostile activities and the declaration, but the act of declaring war does invite
the second party to the pending hostilities for the opportunity to offer redress in
lieu of war. An aggrieving nation must have refused to render the satisfaction to
proceed with a just war. War is not a last resort, but the cause of war cannot be
considered just unless the aggrieved party has first tendered the opportunity for a
peaceful settlement and been refused. War becomes a means of sanction for some
injury received in those cases where there is no alternative means seeking redress.
The second of Aquinas conditions for a just war is for a proportionally good reason
or just cause. If one can seek redress from some higher authority, then one is not
justified in resorting to violence. Aquinas states that the natural order conducive to
peace among mortals demands that the power to declare and counsel war should be
in the hands of those who hold the supreme authority. States have no common weal
against internal disturbances, meaning that it is their business to have recourses to
the sword of war in defending the common weal against external enemies. Lastly,
Friend Speech For Friend
Friend speech (sukhwinder)
Hi everyone and welcome! I am honoured to be giving this birthday toast to my
closest friend Gurmeet! I am so grateful to have such a great friend in my life! We
met in School, one of the toughest years for any adolescent. Ina time where stress
is high we bonded and became lifelong friends. We shared all our stress and work
and learned to beat it up together. When I got any issues in my studies he was
always there to help me out. Further we joined the same University and we decided
to work together in every field of work. When I go back to those memories I have a
smile on my face and remind sweet moments that we spent together I felt so proud of
my friend when he passed the University with a good score grades. Throughout the
past 50 years I have seen him grow into a successful, unique, responsible person that
he has become. When thinking about giving this speech tonight I decided to focus on
one quality that truly shines in him. That quality is his dedication towards work! Any
goal that Gurmeet sets in his mind to him does with passion and dedication! This
passion hassled him to changing the lives of many students, friends and family. He
also has a enthusiasm for his family. He just like as my brother from another
mother rather than a friend but indeed keeping a professional attitude at work. He
has many roles to play and one of them is that he is always ready to help the needy

Crucial Roles Of Women And Children During The
Romantic Era
The Crucial Role of Women and Children in the Romantic Era During the
Romantic era, the role of women and children were both crucial to society. Their
individual roles were portrayed in numerous poems during this time frame. The
children and women were property of the male figure in their life. William Blake
is an advocate for children s rights, Mary Wollstone Craft is an advocate for equal
rights of women, and William Wordsworth portrays the women s role, if they were
no male figure. William Blake is a Romantic poet who advocated heavily for
children s rights. At the time, there were no child labor laws, meaning any child
could be placed in a factory or any environment regardless of age. In The Chimney
Sweeper, Blake demonstrates children s innocence. The speaker is a young male
child who was sold before he could speak (51). Children during the time frame were
literally placed inside the chimney to dust them out. Blake chalks the poem full of
poetic devices to depict the harsh child labor laws occurring.... Show more content on

Tom Dacre was also a chimney sweeper, who had a dream about angels and being
set free. The angel told him if he was a good boy, God would be his father and he
would never lack joy (52). The angel symbolizes heaven and his message conveys
that if they got to Heaven, they would never want anything else, they would have
all they need. Dacre and the speaker continued to believe if they do their duty,
nothing inimical will happen to them (52). The overall message of Blake s The
Chimney Sweeper , is that the children will have a miserable life, but when they die
and go to Heaven, they will finally be able to be happy
Censorship Is Monitoring Or Withholding Information
Essay
Censorship is monitoring or withholding information. The information can come
from a book, drama, media, or any other form of entertainment; but it is usually
considered a threat to the consumer. Yet the consumer is not always the audience.
Sometimes the threat is to a politician or government official. The debate over
topics in the realm of what is acceptable and what should be banned only continues
to rise as more taboo topics become acceptable. Some argue that keeping certain
things behind closed doors is imperative for a harmonious living place. Others say
that a small discourse is critical to remain sane. Censorshipis a way of protecting
society from itself. Leaders and parental figures can make the choice to monitor
what is read, watched, and consumed, but until the world lives the life worthy of a
children s book the effort is futile. While the narrative being taught may be
inappropriate or harsher it doesn t decrease the value of it.
Arguments are shown throughout everyday life over every topic. The question isn
t, When will society stop fighting the norm? The question is, When will society
stop fighting change? The world evolves with every second. With that evolution
society blurs the line with what is acceptable and not. Sixty years ago the idea of
two boys kissing was the equivalent of burning a baby in church on a Sunday
morning. Today, two men kissing is celebrated with its own parade. Social norms
and ideals have been ripping down the cloak of

Use of Customs, Dialect and Social Status
In The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County
Mark Twain s The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County is a short story
with the lesson that what goes around comes around. In this short story, which first
appeared in 1856 and his first successful story, Twain uses local customs of the
time, dialect, and examples of social status in his story to create a realistic view of
the region in which the story takes place. The way that the characters behave is very
distinctive. Dialect is also used to give the reader a convincing impression of the

Twain uses local dialect throughout the story. Dialect enhances the story by
painting a picture of the surroundings, giving a deeper understanding of the
characters and adding local color. The following quotes show Twain s main
purpose is using dialect, which is to emphasize the rural feel of the story s setting. On
page 1189 the narrator says He was always ready and laying for a chance; there

Lastly, a land where humans like us live. Farming, sewing, writing, painting, selling

Accountability Within The United States Marine Corps
Accountability by definition means the quality or state of being accountable;
especially : an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for
one s actions. Accountability stems from late Latin accomptare (to account), a
prefixed form of computare (to calculate), which in turn derived from putare (to
reckon). While the word itself does not appear in English until its use in 13th
century Norman England, the concept of account giving has ancient roots in
record keeping activities related to governance and money lending systems that
first developed in Ancient Egypt, Israel, Babylon, Greece, and later, Rome. In the
United States Marine Corps it is very important to hold yourself accountable for all
actions especially true the longer you are in. To myself it refers to the obligation
of an individual to report formally to his superiors for the proper discharge of his
responsibility. It is the answer ability of a subordinate to render an account of his
activities to his superior. The person who accepts responsibility is accountable for
the performance of the assigned duties. As such being late to work is a direct
violation of accountability. Forgetting ones required materials for work may seem
small and harmless but overall may develop into bigger issues if not dealt with
accordingly. Accountability is not an abstract concept. It is actually extremely simple.
Accountability means saying what you mean, meaning what you say, and doing what
you say you re

Is Nationalism the major reason for the formation of nation states?
Introduction
Nationalism is the old subject that has existed since time immemorial. It has been a
subject of interest with many views and perceptions from researchers. Nationalism is
the main cause of the formation of nation states (Tames 2004). Nationalism is the
benchmark upon which nation states are formed, as it entails the principles that
govern particular states, members and defined territories (Al Ali 2000). In most
cases, nationalism forms the premise of building values that govern a particular
state and which define its role and power. This essay covers the principles, which
enables state nations to be formed, how the principles are built and how effective
they are. Meanwhile, addressing the reasons as to why is appropriate to form nation
states based on nationalism (Gorenburg 2008).
Nation states are political communities that have been recognized as independent
sovereign states. Various comprehensive theories of nationalism have been
formulated to explicate the genesis and evolution in Western Europe and Asia. How
the nationalism was structured and affects the modern nationalism and Kurdish
nationalism in Turkey is such instance (Blackwell 2003).
The Body
Nationalism is a precept that engages poor people, seized and even the rich
individuals in the public in the certain district. Nationalism progresses national

Characteristics Of Becoming A Man
What does becoming a man mean? When would you say someone has become a
man? Becoming a man means, according to Merriam Webster, one possessing in
high degree the qualities considered distinctive of manhood; such as courage,
strength, and vigor. To me becoming a man doesn t happen at a certain age, but I
think it happens at a time when you possess manhood traits. In the Wake Tech
Reader, Rodriguez talks about the independence children want when they grow up in
his essay Family Values. From what I ve learned growing up, becoming a manmeans
having responsibility, being self dependent, being financially stable to support
yourself and possibly others, and having the toughnessand grit to get through
anything that gets in your way. If you asked me what the most important qualities
of becoming a man was, I d probably easily come back and say that responsibility is.
When you become a man you have a lot of things your responsible to take care and
do every so often. You have to be responsible enough to pay your bills and dues on
time. You can t just forget things anymore, so you got to be on top of your game
and have a schedule to get all your tasks done every day. As Winston Churchill once
said, The price for greatness is responsibility. To be a successful man you need to
be responsible for your actions and everything you do. You shouldn t have to be
told to do something and that s a part of the new responsibilities that you have.
Responsibility is one of the main qualities of being a man and without it some men
may not be able to handle what happens in life. As I stated earlier, Rodriguez says
kids these days are independent from their parents when they leave home. What
immigrants know, what my parents certainly know, is that when you come to this
country, you risk losing your children. Rodriguez is saying that it s a known fact
that some kids grow up and come very independent with their family and in some
cases don t come back and stay dependent of themselves. He also states that America
encourages you to Become your own man. Becoming independent is probably the
first step in becoming a man. You don t have your parents doing things for you so
you need to start relying on yourself for everything you need.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Given the recent closures of Future Shop stores across Canada, there is significant
uncertainty facing customers, employees, suppliers, and landlords. Customers will
have concerns regarding gift cards, product returns, and warranties. The challenges of
dealing with employees include addressing termination packages, retaining the best
personnel, and transitioning Future Shop employees from a commissioned pay plan
to a salaried structure. Suppliers concerns will stem from goods transported to Future
Shop on trade credit, and the loss of future business. Landlords will be concerned
with the status of their lease agreements with Future Shop. Also, the decision on
whether to amalgamate or wind down Future Shop operations will be of utmost
importance. Our team has done extensive research into the failures of Target, and is
best suited to help Best Buy navigate through this delicate transition period. This
report analyzes the concerns that Best Buy will face, and addresses them from a
behavioural and legal perspective. In order to maximize the benefits and limit the
risk, our analysis indicates that Best Buy should wind down Future Shop operations
and maintain it as an inactive company.
Similarities Between Frederick And Catherine The Great
Frederick and Catherine the Greats Squared This essay about the Greats squared
or better known as Frederick and Catherine. I wondered why they were given the
title of Great , so I began researching both of them. My objective with this essay is
to show their greatest achievements and their worst blunders. Starting with
Frederick the Great, he was born on January 24, 1712 in Berlin, Prussia. His father
King Frederick Wilhelm I was a very strict no nonsense kind of guy. When he
exhibited a flair for languages and music, his father sent him to military training.
Frederick tried to escape to England at age 18 to get away from his father, however,
he was caught, court martialed, and had to watch his best friend be decapitated

reform the Russian educational system, even writing some of the materials herself.
In addition, she lobbied for governmental reforms, created a Legislative Commission,
expanded Russia s borders with the use of the military, as well as amassing a most

Analysis of Jamaica Kincaid s Lucy and Edwidge...
Danticat and Kincaid Every single culture is a unique social creation wherein the
population of a given location has worked together for years to develop attitudes,
perceptions, artistic and aesthetic interests, and ideologies which will be individual
to the culture. It will also develop important attitudes about which groups within
the cultural community will comprise the majority and which the minority. Those
in the majority culture will have the power and those in the minority will have to
abide by whatever rules and sanctions the majority population devises. The
majority culture also determines how the minority culture will be treated and how
the two groups will be classified. Often, differentiation of groups is determined by
race, religion, or social and economic class. Throughout literary history, authors
have endeavored to capture the past as well as recreate and articulate sociological
inequalities within that past in order to better understand the psychology and
sociology of those who exist in the present. Issues of race, being one of the primary
examples of social inequality, often appear in controversial and important works of
literature from around the world. In the Caribbean Sea, people have had to deal
with centuries of racial prejudices and sociological inequity since the first explorers
arrived on the island and demanded that those with darker skins become the slaves of
those with light skin, a period which still affects the populations of the Caribbean to

Technology And Its Impact On The Daily Life
With the rapid development of technology and its functional applications to assist
those in the daily life, society is becoming more and more dependent on these
technological advances. Many, as evidenced in the article from The Onion, develop
a blind trust in all that technology has to offer and have seemingly forgotten how to
think or act independently; thus, the piece satirizes consumers gullibility when
presented with evidence from a man in a white lab coat. Using jargon to try to
establish ethos and anecdotes that cite illegitimate sources, the article develops
points in a humorous way that exposes consumers and their inability to differentiate
between reality and nonsense, especially when presented with seemingly
sophisticated science. By incorporating jargon or in this case, largely made up
words that connote expertise and reliability but actually denote, well, nothing at all.
From words such as kilofrankels to phrases such as harness the power of magnetism
to properly align the biomagnetic field around, it is apparent that the author is trying
to exemplify how certain consumers, in a society where technology is rapidly
advancing, fall victim to the false sense of sophistication incorporated by seemingly
reliable experts. Adding on to the absurdity, the piece actually derives the word
kilofrankel from a psuedoscientist named Dr. Frankel ; contributing to an overall
humorous, sardonic tone. Regarding the technology advocated in the piece, it is ironic

Ansoff Matrix Essay
We will now analyze the corporate level strategy of Patanjali using the Ansoff Product
and Market Growth Matrix. There are four components of Ansoff Matrix market
penetrations, market development, product development and diversification and we
will discuss each of them in detail below.
a)Market Penetration: It focuses on expanding sales of the existing product in firms
existing market. This can be achieved by a combination of pricing strategy , sales
promotion and marketing and the objective of the firm is to be the dominant player
in that market by driving out the competitors and increasing the loyal customer base.
This would make it less risky and require less market research for the firm to expand
as it can utilize its existing resources ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This strategy requires the firm to develop products appealing to existing markets and
the business will have to develop new competencies. This strategy emphasis on
research and development, market research on customer needs and innovative ideas.
This usually happens if the firm has a huge customer base and the market for existing
product is reaching saturation and thus market penetration strategy could not be
applied. Patanjali in its part focused on quality, purity and affordability and the
followers of Baba Ramdev formed its core set of customers. Patanjali started
making amla (gooseberry) juice which happened accidently. A group of farmers
don t know what to do with excel gooseberries as the price was very low and there
was not much demand. At that Patanjali introduced this new drink Amla Juice to the
market which was an instant hit. The introduction of new product was little riskier
as they didn t knew how the product would be accepted by the customers, but after
the drink became hit, they introduced various varieties of juices likes Aloe Vera
Juice, Hing digestive golis and also personal care products like shikakai, sherbets
and spices that Indians otherwise shopped at gramudyog outlets. They also plan to
introduce other products from baby care to garments and from bio fertilisers to
healthy food, and also organic cotton
The Causes Of Racial Inequality In The United States
Racial inequality has always been an issue of the past in the United States that is still
present today, but what happens when racism interferes with the well being and
health of minorities? When it comes to health African Americans fall at the bottom of
the list. African Americans are much more likely than people in other racial/ethnic
groups to die from heart disease and stroke. Heart disease and stroke are the biggest
reasons for inequality in life expectancy between whites and African Americans.
(Aetna) There are countless influences that contribute to the result of poor health of
blacks in the United States such as racial discrimination, environmental exposures,
poor nutrition, physical inactivity, the lack of access to health care, incarceration,
poverty, various diseases and many more.
Today, gentrification has become a huge systematic problem especially in urban
neighborhoods. Many fast food restaurants are being planted in areas where the
vast majority of African Americans live. The nearest supermarket that sell fresh
fruit and vegetables to urban areas are usually five or more miles away which
means that many people are unable to travel to supermarkets. Also, these
supermarkets have limited hours or they sell expensive food which makes it nearly
impossible to purchase food for themselves or for their family. African Americans are
1.4 times as likely as whites to have high blood pressure. (Aetna) This makes it easier
to purchase more unhealthy food that can

Second language acquisition is a process by which people learn a second language. It
refers to any language learned in addition to the first language and the differences
between both processes. Second language acquisition is a controversial issue; since,

Both the Acculturation Model and the Accommodation Theory are mainly Socio
psychological models and do not take into account the cognitive process that takes
place in language acquisition.
Krashen also gives importance to motivation and the learner s attitude towards the L2.
However, he based his Affective Filter Hypothesis on formal Second language
instruction where motivation and the different feelings towards L2 a learner has,
from the target language affects the quantity of Input learners receive and can be
turned into Intake. The Affective Filter Hypothesis suggests that learners with low
motivation and negative views of the target language receive little Input, while
learners with more motivation received and acquire much from the Input they are
exposed to. As Krashen states:
The Affective Filter Hypothesis captures the relationship between affective variables
and the process of second language acquisition by positing that acquirers vary with
respect to the strength or level of their Affective Filters.

The Truman Show is a science fiction film, which is directed by Peter Weir in
1998. Jim Carrey, Ed Harris, Laura Linney these great stars join this film, and their
acting is fantastic to play their roles. The movie brings the audience a new
experience, persuades people to explore and consider the world they live. Peter
Weir uses a simple way cleverly to show his concept through a person s growth to

the love and the reality, to predict that after a person experiences these, what his life

Article Title: Implementing Multicultural Ethics: Issues for Family Counselors
Reading this article definitely left me with an open mind on reconsidering what I
now consider right and wrong , but not just in cases of social work or working
with families but in my everyday life. Because we cannot define ourselves without
including our culture I believe it safe to day that we are indeed defined by our
culture. This increases the possibility of false consensus effect playing a huge part

Studying and knowing other cultures help understand people and their reasoning
or behaviors. Normal to us may seem insane to them and vice versa but
understanding has only one definition and if we all understand each other
reasoning it s easier to come up with a solution. The article gave a perfect example
of a case study where a lady named Rose husband had a second wife and when
explaining it to the counselor she sympathized for Rose when that wasn t a
concern for her because in her culture it was normal, in fact she went on to say how
the second wife was more life a sister to her and that she wouldn t be able to take
care of her family without her. In this case if they counselor would have known more
about the ethnical background of Rose the mistaken of thinking that her husband
having a second wife wouldn t have happened. This could have easily been a problem
if Rose would have to offense to the sympathy comment, or even worse the mistake
itself could have worried the counselor where she wasn t able to full understand the
situation or maybe even concentrate on the situation because she couldn t stop
thinking about making the mistake to begin

Quick Death in The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber
Ernest Hemingway created a masterpiece of mystery in his story The Short Happy
Life of Francis Macomber . The mystery does not reveal itself to the reader until the
end of the story, yet it leaves a lot to the imagination. At the end of the story Margaret
Macomber kills her husband by accident, in order to save him from being mauled
by a large Buffalo while on a safari in Africa. The mystery is whether or not this
killing was truly accidental, or intentional. If it was to be considered intentional, there
would certainly have to be evidence in the story suggesting such, with a clear motive
as well. What makes this mystery unique is that Hemingway gives the reader

Robert Wilson seems to be right in his descriptions of the couple,
and their relationship throughout the story. If this is true, and
none of his presumptions about the couple are false, then he gains
more credibility towards the end of the story. It is at this point
that he becomes the advocate of Margot actions, despite the fact
that they were intentional. It is Wilson that gives the reader the
best description of the relationship between Francis and his wife.
It is his insight into Margot, however, that is the most detailed,
and which seems to suggest that she might be capable of such an
act.
From this astute analysis of the two, Wilson shows the reader
several very important things. One is the fact, although somewhat
machiavellian, that over her husband. Another observation that I
somewhat important is the This is the cruelty that Wilson observes
in the passage above. This, as she would soon see, was not the
case.
One of the most important passages in the story occurs in the
moments just before Francis and Robert Wilson go into the bush
after the buffalo. After Margot fires the fatal shot, further
evidence is given by Robert Wilson that supports the assertion
that the killing was intentional Hemingway 1411). Wilson, who
seems to be accurate in his assessment of the relationship, seems
a credible witness to the

I m Sorry Early Sunday morning, my radio turned on, waking me up as my
favourite song was playing. The song ended, and I opened my eyes to find my
room was full of smoke. I heard Grace down the hall screaming bloody murder:
Amber, help! I jumped out of bed and ran down the hall, not aware of my
surroundings. I got to Grace s room; all I could see was Grace lying in a bed that
was on fire. By the time I got to her room, there was no way of saving her. Grace
was engulfed in flames. I stood there for a minute, staring at her, while she looked
back at me as her skin melted away. All I could say was, I m sorry! I turned around
and headed straight back to my room. I thought to myself, I need to get out of here

was through my window. But, I was on the fourth floor of the apartment building.
All I thought to myself was, Jump. I gathered the courage to jump. Landing, I

Racism And Income Inequality In The United States
Racism and inequalities have existed, exists now, and will be here long after we are
gone. However, racism in this country has been diminished greatly, and though it
will never be fully eradicated, it is to the point where all races and ethnicities can
achieve great things. All aspects of life, such as income levels, success in the arts,
and even college entrance are not beholden to systemic racism. It is a person s own
drive, personal life choices, and willingness to work hard that determine their level of
achievement. Of the many cultures in this country, some are more goal driven and
can better thrive in a capitalist society. Then there are some cultures that don t do so
well. So, even though racism does exist in the united states, it is not to the point
where it grants benefits to white people. There are many factors to income inequality
in this country, not all of which are connected to racism, but one s personal choices.

External Conflict In Lord Of The Flies
Bedtimes and rules are something many children despise when they are growing
up. They want to grow up and break away from their parents. The boys from Lord
of the Flies are experiencing what it is like to be on their own when they crash
landed on an island with no adults. Boys ranging from ages five to twelve are
stranded on an island together and have to learn to adapt to their new environment to
survive. This creates many problems among the older boys who want to hold power.
William Golding conveys that deprivation from civilization can cause people to
completely changetheir morals and sense of right from wrong in his novel Lord of the
Flies through the use of external conflictwhich is the boys struggle with power and
being stranded on the island, savage characterization, and symbolism such as the
Lord of the Flies and Jacks spear.
The theme of Lord of the Flies is implied through external conflict. The external
conflict in the book expresses the theme by causing disagreements between the
boys on what is important to survive on the island. The external conflict is that the
boys are stuck on the island and two of the boys, Jack and Ralph, are fighting for
power. Jack is a choir boy with a cocky personality, which is causing many conflicts
and Ralph has a strong and appealing appearance and personality. Jack thinks
hunting is the most important thing on the island right now, and Ralph thinks
shelter and a signal fire is more important. Ralph is currently chief right now and
has more power causing Jack to fight with him to gain power. Ralph and Jack are
bickering on the importance of the signal fire and Ralph states I was talking about
smoke! Don t you want to be rescued? All you can talk about is pig, pig, pig!
(Golding 54). This quote is an example of the differences between Ralph and Jack.
Ralph has more logic about what is important to get rescued instead of Jack because
Jack only cares about killing a pig before even thinking about getting rescued which
he says in the novel that he would like to kill a pig before being rescued.
Another example of how the theme is shown throughout the novel is through savage
characterization. Savage characterization conveys the theme by showing the reader
how the
Descartes And Whitman s Views On The Self, Affected By...
Is the self affected by the outside world? Whitman seems to think so, but Descartes
claims that all external things cannot trusted because we are being deceived by an
evil demon. Both philosopher s obviously differ on what can and cannot consider to
be true. Descartes and Whitman had very different ideas of the self and what could
affect the self. While Whitman believed that man could achieve knowledge of the
self through the senses, Descartes argued that man should throw the senses to the side
and only believe in what we could distinctly perceive and truly understand. However,
if man mixes both of these philosopher s thoughts on the self then he can really grow
to understand and experience the world around him in a much meaningful way...

He also goes on to disregard race, gender, and socio economic status as potential
dividers for man. In the 19th section, Whitman described his meal and how he
invited everyone. He invited The kept woman, sponger, thief, are hereby invited,
the heavy lipp d slave is invited no one was excluded because everyone who exist
serves a purpose. Every human serves an equal purpose, for if the the Fourth
month showers have, and the mica on the side of a rock has So then do all man.
(Whitman Sec. 19.) This meal is extremely democratic and served its point; that
man is not to judge, or be racist, he called for the acceptance of all no matter what.
In order to realize how the acceptance of others affects the inner self man has to
acknowledge that the outside world influences him, not just physically, but also
spiritually. Through the senses man grows to know and really comprehend the
self. Whitman describes what he learned from looking deep into the eyes of an ox
as more than all the print he has read read in his life (Whitman Sec. 13.) Through
experiencing the world, he gained more knowledge than he ever could from just
analyzing it from afar and without having a relation with it. Whitman wanted man to
know that the only way he could get to know and allow the self to grow was
through experiencing the world around him. Section 13 called man to look at nature
and all of God s creation. In Section 45 Whitman asked himself

Comparing Gilgamesh And The Code Of Hammurabi
In the writing found in earlier civilizations there is much evidence that proves
women in those societies possessed little rights. In the Code of Hammurabi there
were laws for both women and men, however most of the laws for women were
more like punishments. The laws were set in stone by the king Hammurabi and
were meant to further the well being of mankind he said. However, it is said that
there is an exception to every rule, in this case that would be The Epic of
Gilgamesh, another piece of writing set in the same place (but not the same time).

play a small but significant role. In the text we are introduced to female characters
like Aruru, Siduri, Ishtar and Shamhat. One thing these women have in common
would be the power they all possess. Aruru was the god of creation, and it was her, a
woman nonetheless, the nobles went to for help in their time of need. With her
power, she created a solution to their problem, something these men couldn t
Conch Lord Of The Flies Quote Analysis
For the boys in the novel the conch was an empowering movement that made them
be civilized for a while. The conch showed leadership to the boys, for example
Golding states Him with the shell. Ralph! Ralph! Ralph! Let him be chief with the
trumpet (Golding 22). This quote is showing the boys saw the shell as an entitling
necessity. So far, the boys maintain civilized and try to create rules for themselves
as Ralph leads them. As the story progresses, Jack starts to separate from
civilization the boys are starting to forget about their main purpose for creating the
fire which is to be rescued. Jack and almost all the boys forget about being rescued
they then start to follow Jack as leader and stop listening to Ralph, who is more
civilized
Straw Dogs Satire
Forgive me, i am the worst kind of horror movie enthusiast I see a trailer on
television for an upcoming release and i can t help but get giddy and declare I
want to see that! without having any idea aside from the trailers; which are often
misleading what the movie is about. Thats my biggest problem as a movie viewer,
critic, and person in the case of 2011 s Straw Dogs, this also led to a level of
embarrassment on a first date, but we will get into that later. Unlike most people
in the industry i like the idea of remakes I actually believe they do more good then
harm for a movie, because a second attempt can often allow a story to live up to its
full potential. On a very hypocritical note sometimes i feel like if it is not broken
don t fix it, or if it doesn t need to exist don t create it. I get very frustrated when i
try to sort out my genuine feelings on this. I am glad however Straw... Show more

Well lets consider genre; Straw Dogs is not a horror horror, its more of a psycho
thriller and it takes a long time before anything brutal or sadistic to actually occur.
Most of the films graphic slash and kill moments are compacted into the last thirty
some minutes. The majority of the movie introduces the audience to the close
minded social politics of a sadistic small town, Blackwater Mississippi. David
Summer (James Marsden) is an unwanted outsider and when he and his wife Amy
(Kate Bosworth) move into her childhood home they are greeted with reluctance
and torment. Amy encourages David to attempt to adapt to her childhood home in
order to blend in this blending in actually becomes their means of survival being
that the citizens of Blackwater maintain a very hostile approach to any newcomers.
It does not help that Amy s redneck ex boyfriend Charlie, maintains a deluded sense
of ownership over Amy and essentially see s her as a piece of stolen property in

A Disconnect From Ideologies Opposite From Ones Own
Mario Serna
Intro
A disconnect from ideologies opposite from ones own, appears to be the obvious and
simple response. Opposite architectural theoretical ideas such as solid vs void, ideas
vs talent, program vs paradigm, object vs context, literal vs phenomenal transparency,
amongst others are discussed and analyzed in many of Colin Rowe s writings. Rowe,
a British born, architectural historian, critic, theoretician, teacher and a major
intellectual influence on world architecture and urbanism believes in a synthesis
rather than neglecting either of the ideas (Wikipedia) . An architect who seems to
embody this principle of synthesizing ideas is Rem Koolhaus/OMA. His project,

Circulation and Program
The educational components (auditorium and lecture hall) are placed on the sloping
surface enhancing its purpose (seating), the exhibition space, placed on the top flat
slab, is given greater flexibility, and the library, located centrically in its design,
becomes a connector of programs. The connection (circulation) of these programs
start to arise as two different circulation loops are conceived, exterior loop (purple)
and interior loop (yellow) (figure 3). The exterior loop starts from the path
connection (road) and spirals up through all the programs. The interior loop, placed
inside the main tower and library, serves a more direct route trough the building.
Ingeniously through its combine sloped and flat slab, the programs have the ability to
permeate one another. The exhibition lingers into the auditorium and lecture hall or
vice versa when required by its changes in occupation , obtaining easy and smooth
transitions.
Structure
Most of the building is cantilevered, creating structural challenges. The resolution
included a structural concrete core (yellow) and steel slabs reinforced with steel
diagonals, that add to its visual distinction (Figure 4). The steel structure is revealed
through the addition of semi opaque glass in

The Industrial Revolution And The Evolution Of The...
Katie Rose Knoblock Professor Taylor AMH 2010 O1M 6 November 2017
Evolution of the Industrial Revolution Many factories did this by targeting women
and children as they could be paid less than men with no repercussions. The
workers that were hired to these positions, especially women, were subject to some
very harsh work conditions. They were subject to terrible work environments
including buildings called sweatshops, which were poorly lit and ventilated for
maximum productivity. They were forced to work in dangerous conditions where
a person could easily be maimed or even killed if they mishandled the equipment
they used for their work. It was not unheard of for the workers to be expected to
work as much as 16 hours a day under threats of being fired or even physically
abused if they did not complete their work with great speed. Even after all their
effort in the workplace, it was not uncommon for a person to be paid as little as a
single dollar for their day s efforts. These poor working conditions gave rise to
labor unions in the 19th century to insure proper working conditions for all
laborers. The labor unions aided in workplace safety and fairness by using a large
group of people to sway greedy business owners in the right direction. The major
advancement in the factory system occurred in the early 20th century with what was
called the assembly line. The assembly line enabled a product being assembled to
pass on a mechanized conveyor from one

The Importance of Accountability and Punctuality PFC
Phillips
The Importance of Accountability and Punctuality Accountability is the
obligation of an individual or organization to account for its activities, accept
responsibility for them, and to disclose the results in a transparent manner.
Punctuality is the habit of doing things exactly in time. So the main reason for this

of duty for PT/Accountability formation at the correct time There is still no excuse
for me to miss a formation. I want to be an excellent soldier and I want to excel in

A School for My Village by Twesigye Jackson Kaguri Essay
The book is expressing a concern to meet the needs of education in a country that
lacks quality education. Jackson Kaguri saw a need and along with the help of some
faithful supporters made a reality out of a dream.
The book had me sitting on the edge waiting to see if it was going to be a success or
a failure. There were times I felt sympathy for the people of Uganda because of all the
sufferings that they endure. I loved how Jackson helped whoever came before him
just as he saw his brother tending to the people s needs. I felt sympathy to know
that there are those people who still shun the help that s offered like the kid Olivia,
who did not want to attend another school. I also felt sad for those who wanted to

who lost their parents and has to stay with relatives, who doesn t have running

Jackson was raised in a family that had its ups and downs but had the support of a

took good care of her children. His father was a hardworking man who demanded a

Reflection Paper On Field Work
Waiting to find out my internship placement, interviewing with my placement, and
starting work has been the most exciting part of my graduate education to date. I
was placed with Walton County Department of Family and Children Services
(DFCS) and started working with them in the last week of September. The
transition from the classroom to the field has been smooth with my classes having
equipped me for the field work I have already done and hopefully for the field work
to come. While the transition from classroom to field has been smooth, it has been
drastically different working with DFCS from reading in textbooks and class
lectures. At my field placement, I have been able to interact with clients and get to
know them on a first name basis. Meeting real clients has been fascinating. Not
only do I get to learn about what is going on in their lives, I also get to learn about
how they feel about it, what they think about it, and see their expressions and
emotions as they relay this information to me. Face to face interaction with a client
is unlike anything that can be gathered from a textbook. We have textbooks that
give scenarios and scripted interviews, but a book is never able to fully capture the
same experience as when you actually talk to a client. Even if a client s problem(s)
may not be that interesting I find it captivating to speak with someone and learn
about what they are going through, then to read about worst situation possible
scenarios for clients in

The Biofuel And Biomass Industry
Abstract
The biofuel and biomass industry has become potentially more beneficial over the
last few decades. They have considerably reduced the usage of fossil fuels. As the
non renewable energy is being replaced by the renewable energy, new initiatives are
proposed for the continuous development of supply chain network for biofuel
energy. The main aim is to determine the optimal model of supply chain for the
biofuel industry, operations of biofuel supply chain, and also design a reliable supply
chain network for the biofuel and biomass industries. Multiple papers have been
discussed in considering various challenges present in the biofuel production market.
The key objective of the paper is to maximize the profit, study the changes in ... Show

Dragone, who received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1985, was at the
time working for the Chiquita banana company. Greenwood thought Dragone s
formal business training and food industry experience would complement his own
product engineering abilities. The concept
Greenwood wished to turn into a business was centered on creating portion packs of
premium coffee.
The coffee inside would stay fresh because nearly all the oxygen would be
removed through special packaging techniques (not yet developed at the time).
Each pack held its own filter and was enclosed by a foil lid. The portion pack
concept held the promise creating a way to brew coffee much more precisely and
consistently that any method available at the time. He came to me with a mock up
made out of a used yogurt cup. So, I started to create a business plan, said Dragone.
Greenwood, perusing a Dutch English dictionary, spotted the word Keurig Dutch for
excellence and chose it as the name of the new company. The modified yogurt cup
(and its more refined later versions) was dubbed the K Cup.
Greenwood would serve as President and CEO of the nascent venture, while Dragone
would be the Chief Financial Officer. The partners started presenting their ideas to
coffee maker manufacturers such as Westbend and Grindmaster in late 1992. They

milestone a child accomplishes between the ages of 6 months to 5 years of age, play
is how the interpret what they see and hear, and incorporate everyday adult activities

Vygotsky theory, Children are practicing what they have learned in other settings or
are constructing new knowledge, it is clear that playhas a valuable role in the early

Olivia replied. She gave me the impression that because I was not asking about her,
she was not interested in talking about her brother. Olivia said that she lives with

me to believe that her family is close, and involved with one another. Olivia is a very

The prime minister can determine the ministers in each ministry (Johnson, 2004).
The head of government has certain degree of authority and freedom to delegate to its
ministers, and it can lead the government to more stable political situation because
fusion of power between the ministries and prime minister is achieved. Prime
ministers can also nominate members of the cabinet but their functions are not just
limited to advisory and consultative. The members must decide collectively broad
matters of policy, involving foreign affairs, finance, and other issues of concern to the
entire government (Hitchner, 1970). The collective body of cabinets reduces the role
of prime minister and his executive power. The presidential government has
distinctive characteristics compared to parliamentary system. According to
Hargrove, presidential government can be defined as by nature, single person
office, chosen for a fixed term by a uniquely national constituency, sharing virtually
all the powers of the federal government with an equally distinct and independent
congress (Hargrove, 1984). The president, who is directly elected by public, is head
of the government and also head of the state. It appears that the president has full
support from public and also symbolizes the national representative and unifying
figure. The separation of power and check and balance are main features in the
presidential form of government. According to Abueva, legislative power is vested in

  • 1. Benefits Of College Education Essay Crafting an essay on the benefits of a college education can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, there is a plethora of information available, showcasing the positive impacts that a college education can have on an individual's life. From improved career prospects to enhanced critical thinking skills, the benefits are diverse and well-documented. However, the challenge lies in presenting these advantages in a cohesive and compelling manner. It requires thorough research to gather relevant data and statistics, coupled with the ability to synthesize this information into a well-structured and logical argument. Moreover, striking the right balance between providing factual evidence and expressing personal opinions is crucial to maintain the essay's credibility. The writer must navigate through various perspectives on the topic, addressing potential counterarguments and providing a nuanced view. Additionally, incorporating real-life examples and success stories can add depth to the essay, making it more relatable and engaging for the reader. Furthermore, the challenge extends to maintaining a consistent tone and style throughout the essay, ensuring that the message is conveyed clearly and persuasively. • 2. What Is The Concept Of Fear In Frankenstein Frankenstein, a book that was made to bring fear takes a bigger bite out of psychological fear than nail biting action. Mary Shelley wrote this book on a challenge, a challenge to make a frightening book, but the fear that the common public thinks of is far from the type of fear seen in Frankenstein. This type of fear that the public commonly thinks of is far from what Mary Shelley uses. because of this unusual writing style it poses a very good slate for the fear that the monster imposes on the characters and the reader. Because of Frankensteins underlying unknown concepts this book proves to be a very hefty dose of psychological and philosophical horror. With this Mary Shelley is able to make the reader think about their place in existence.
  • 3. My Surprise At Your Surprise I love to cook and to my surprise so do my kids. They are always eager to help me anyway they can. I also find that letting them help prepare the meals adds to the excitement of eating them, even the healthy veggies. When prepping to cook with kids always make sure to have kid friendly tools that they can use. I allow them to use butter knives to cut, slotted spoons, pots, pans, rolling pins and the cutting board. When thinking of kid friendly menus remember to add you re twist on the menu. Instead of just plain old boiled hot dogs let the kids slice them down the middle a few times and place them in a pan of hot water, boil until done and when you take them out they have a great octopus hot dog to place on a bowl of mac n cheese or cover in ketchup and let them play sea monsters. When making cookies allow them to roll out the dough and let them go at it with a few cookie cutters. If no cookie cutter are available look around the house, play dough cutters work great as well as cups and square blocks. If all else fails let them use their hands to make shapes and re roll for correct thickness. My kids all time favorite recipe is graveyard pudding. I prepare the pudding while they crush up some Oreo cookies in zip lock baggies. Once the pudding is complete we sprinkle the cookie crumbs over the top, and start decorating with gummy worms and various candies. This recipe is fun and taste good. Letting the kids be hands on in the kitchen is a great life tool for them. Not only
  • 4. Analysis Of We Wear The Mask The title of Dunbar s We Wear the Mask (1896) emphasizes the essential idea of the poem, which is deception and illusion. The title is repeated in all three stanzas. This tells the reader to keep the title in mind while reading the poem. The persona of Dunbar is conveyed to the reader in first person, which has a strong contributed to the message of the poem along with the rhythm and word choice. It shows the repulsive worldDunbar lives in and the masking of his own true emotions throughout the poem. Dunbar s emotional appeal enhances every mood in the poem from the need to hide the true self, to the deep sorrow behind the mask, and to connecting the mask to how humans must lie. In the first stanza, Dunbar uses irony to express what the mask symbolizes. The mask can represent several things from someone hiding behind a false expression to the things people say and do that aren t honest. The main point of the poem which describes the mask as a grin, but can lie . It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes (Line 2) gives the reader a mental picture with the use of imagery. As well, the extra spacing at the beginning of line two emphasizes the word hiding . This mask hides its own existence, of agonizing misery and hardship. Many people put it on to fit into society. When Dunbar says, With torn and bleeding hearts we smile , (Line 4) it explains the worldly power of the mask. The debt we pay to human guile, (Line 3) means the unhappiness they feel is related to them deceiving others. Both lines are hyperboles that emphasize the struggle behind the mask. The figurative language not only shows the theme of discernment, but shows its impact. In addition, applying the words, we and our gives the poem an all inclusive feel which creates an auxiliary meaning. In the second stanza, Dunbar asks a rhetorical question to prove a point. One should not let others make them suffer by hiding all feelings and emotions from society. When he says, Why should the world be overwise, / In counting all our tears and sighs? (Line 6 7), it contradicts the idea that this poem is universal with the phrase the world . Throughout the poem, the time frame of the publication does not shift the poem at all. But one would
  • 5. Disadvantages Of Species Diversity 2. Species diversity: Species are the most important unit of association in natural balance in terms of gladly assessable pasture entities as units of organismal evolution. Species diversity refers to the different types of living organisms on the Earth. This includes the many types of birds, insects, plants, bacteria, fungi, mammals and more. Many differing species often live to gather in communities depending on each other to provide their needs. The study of species diversity is of necessity based primarily on comparative and correlative research. The spatial area required to classify ecological community for many organisms of interest (eg. tree plants, birds and most mammals) is merely too large (and too difficult to define precisely) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This approach relies on the objectivity of the Phylogenetic species concept and applies in to the particularly of the morphological species concept, in terms of shorting specimen in to groups. (Kottelat, 1997) consequently, estimates of species diversity are used more often as the typical measure of overall biodiversity of that area in particular. However, in practice it can be very difficult to quantify the practical interactions flanked by the species within a population. Community diversity is also useful to measure the genetic diversity and species richness also help to measure the diversity and its conservation. Biodiversity at its most basic level includes the full range of species on earth from micro organisms such as viruses, bacteria through the multi cellular kingdom of plants, animals and fungi. Thus, it refers to the variety of species within a region. It measured on the basis of number of species in the region. Species richness varies geographically. Out of an estimation 30 million species on earth, only one sixth has been identified and authenticated in the past 200 years. Only 250,000 species of the total stock are
  • 6. An Analysis Of The Man In To Build A Fire By Jack London To build a Fire by Jack London, the story goes the man went alone in the woods and died. In the story, the man (main character) is responsible for his situations because he didn t listen to the old timer, he thinks he is all that, and finally he wasn t able to stay calm at all. First, the man was responsible for his situation because he didn t listen to the old timer. Even though the old timer told him not to go alone. The man went alone, but he was with a dog along with him and went on a different trail away from the camp. The old timer told him not to go in the woods when it was 32 degrees below. The man went to the cold anyway. Next, the man is responsible because he thinks he is all that. He forgot to build a fire before
  • 7. Nancy Newhall s This Is The American Earth Portraying the sublime evolved as industrialization speed up manufacturing. Adams aimed for a wider audience, as he believed only when the public sees the beauty of the wilderness would they understand why conservation mattered. Adams understood the photographer could play a vital role, rousing awareness and inciting action. He saw this as his personal mission (Spaulding, 1995, pp. 217 218). This was evident in Adams iconic partnership with Nancy Newhall and in their book, This Is the American Earth published in 1960. Theirs was the quintessential book, bringing conservation philosophy and naturephotographyto coffee tables across the nation (Spaulding, 1995, p. 310). In 1963, Porter shared his trip down the Colorado River to capture what would be lost if technological hubris prevailed. The Place No One Knew portrayed fragments of the canyon rather than broad sweeping scenic landscapes. Many criticized the book for too many close up and abstract images that contrasted light and dark features of the canyon even though it did convey the hidden beauty of the canyon. Although costly, $25, The Place No One Knew was a large format book with color images and elegant craftsmanship of typographer and lithographer. One reviewer commented, the book needed to be so large and to contain such high quality prints and exquisite typography. By buying the book, particularly given its expensive price, Americans could gain atonement; through consumption, they could help pay for the sins of the nation (Dunaway, 2005, p. 181). Critics claimed Porter s photos demonstrated a duality between portraying the aesthetics of nature with scientific understanding for what is at stake. The Sierra Club continued work to protect the Colorado River along with advocating protection for other natural resources. They published more books communicating the struggles between progress and protection and this style of photography, I argue, lives on in contemporary works (see Ch.
  • 8. The Meningoccal Infection The Meningococcal infection is a potentially life threatening bacterial disease that continues to be fatal in numerous parts of the world. Since the inception of the first Meningococcal cases in the early 19th century, rates continue to fluctuate today. Of particular note, the World Health Organisation has outlined that there are over 26 countries in the sub Saharan region alone that are overwhelmingly prone to the infection (WHO, 2015). Despite this, Meningococcal has not been restricted to the sub Saharan; current estimates determine that 1.2 million cases arise globally every year. This is primarily due to the fact that the bacterium which causes the Meningococcal disease, the Neisseria Meningitidis, is a carrier bacterium which can be found
  • 9. Annotation In A Midsummer Night In the play A Midsummer Night s Fantasy by William Shakespeare. Shakespeare depicts four various types of adoration constrained affection, parental affection, sentimental love, and entangled adoration. In the start of the play, we see a constrained adoration amongst Theseus and Hippolyta the rulers of the Amazons (David Bevington). Theseus notice in act 1 I charmed thee with my sword (David Bevington), To depict that he won her with his sword as in the fight to win her affection. In Act 5 scene 1, Hippolyta says My Theseus (David Bevington), this shows she will wed him. Not certain if both of these characters are truly infatuated or wedding since Theseus has won a fight. The reason being is despite the fact that Hermia is frantically infatuated with Lysander he rejects them to wed. Egeus inclines toward Demetrius to wed her since he trusts that he is most appropriate for her. As I would like to think I trust the reason Egeus won t need his little girl to wed Lysander is on the grounds that he won t know him exceptionally well. He likely knows Demetrius better as a character and, since he knows him exceptionally well. possibly in Egeus brain, he is by all accounts most appropriate for her. Likewise, every father needs the best for their little girl and needs them to be cheerful. He may trust that Demetrius will convey bliss to her more than Lysander on the grounds that since he knows him well than Lysander in his eyes he s the ideal man for her. • 11. Morality Of War And Peace Kirsten Young ID#: 817086784 Phil 340 Morality of War and Peace Exam #1 For Aquinas, there are three conditions for Just War. The first is that the war must be declared by authority of a head of state or a proper authority. The requirement for a war to be declared comes from the Roman law. There is no specific time limit between hostile activities and the declaration, but the act of declaring war does invite the second party to the pending hostilities for the opportunity to offer redress in lieu of war. An aggrieving nation must have refused to render the satisfaction to proceed with a just war. War is not a last resort, but the cause of war cannot be considered just unless the aggrieved party has first tendered the opportunity for a peaceful settlement and been refused. War becomes a means of sanction for some injury received in those cases where there is no alternative means seeking redress. The second of Aquinas conditions for a just war is for a proportionally good reason or just cause. If one can seek redress from some higher authority, then one is not justified in resorting to violence. Aquinas states that the natural order conducive to peace among mortals demands that the power to declare and counsel war should be in the hands of those who hold the supreme authority. States have no common weal against internal disturbances, meaning that it is their business to have recourses to the sword of war in defending the common weal against external enemies. Lastly,

I am so grateful to have such a great friend in my life! We met in School, one of the toughest years for any adolescent. Ina time where stress is high we bonded and became lifelong friends. We shared all our stress and work and learned to beat it up together. When I got any issues in my studies he was always there to help me out. Further we joined the same University and we decided to work together in every field of work. When I go back to those memories I have a smile on my face and remind sweet moments that we spent together I felt so proud of my friend when he passed the University with a good score grades. Throughout the past 50 years I have seen him grow into a successful, unique, responsible person that he has become. When thinking about giving this speech tonight I decided to focus on one quality that truly shines in him. That quality is his dedication towards work! Some argue that keeping certain things behind closed doors is imperative for a harmonious living place. Others say that a small discourse is critical to remain sane. Accountability Within The United States Marine Corps Accountability by definition means the quality or state of being accountable; especially : an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one s actions. Accountability stems from late Latin accomptare (to account), a prefixed form of computare (to calculate), which in turn derived from putare (to reckon). While the word itself does not appear in English until its use in 13th century Norman England, the concept of account giving has ancient roots in record keeping activities related to governance and money lending systems that first developed in Ancient Egypt, Israel, Babylon, Greece, and later, Rome. Introduction Nationalism is the old subject that has existed since time immemorial. It has been a subject of interest with many views and perceptions from researchers. Nationalism is the main cause of the formation of nation states (Tames 2004). Nationalism is the benchmark upon which nation states are formed, as it entails the principles that govern particular states, members and defined territories (Al Ali 2000). In most cases, nationalism forms the premise of building values that govern a particular state and which define its role and power. This essay covers the principles, which enables state nations to be formed, how the principles are built and how effective they are. • 19. Characteristics Of Becoming A Man What does becoming a man mean? When would you say someone has become a man? Becoming a man means, according to Merriam Webster, one possessing in high degree the qualities considered distinctive of manhood; such as courage, strength, and vigor. To me becoming a man doesn t happen at a certain age, but I think it happens at a time when you possess manhood traits. In the Wake Tech Reader, Rodriguez talks about the independence children want when they grow up in his essay Family Values. From what I ve learned growing up, becoming a manmeans having responsibility, being self dependent, being financially stable to support yourself and possibly others, and having the toughnessand grit to get through anything that gets in your way. If you asked me what the most important qualities of becoming a man was, I d probably easily come back and say that responsibility is. When you become a man you have a lot of things your responsible to take care and do every so often. You have to be responsible enough to pay your bills and dues on time. You can t just forget things anymore, so you got to be on top of your game and have a schedule to get all your tasks done every day. As Winston Churchill once said, The price for greatness is responsibility. To be a successful man you need to be responsible for your actions and everything you do. You shouldn t have to be told to do something and that s a part of the new responsibilities that you have. Responsibility is one of the main qualities of being a man and without it some men may not be able to handle what happens in life. As I stated earlier, Rodriguez says kids these days are independent from their parents when they leave home. What immigrants know, what my parents certainly know, is that when you come to this country, you risk losing your children. Rodriguez is saying that it s a known fact that some kids grow up and come very independent with their family and in some cases don t come back and stay dependent of themselves. He also states that America encourages you to Become your own man. Becoming independent is probably the first step in becoming a man. You don t have your parents doing things for you so you need to start relying on yourself for everything you need.

It will also develop important attitudes about which groups within the cultural community will comprise the majority and which the minority. Those in the majority culture will have the power and those in the minority will have to abide by whatever rules and sanctions the majority population devises. The majority culture also determines how the minority culture will be treated and how the two groups will be classified. Often, differentiation of groups is determined by race, religion, or social and economic class. Throughout literary history, authors have endeavored to capture the past as well as recreate and articulate sociological inequalities within that past in order to better understand the psychology and sociology of those who exist in the present. Issues of race, being one of the primary examples of social inequality, often appear in controversial and important works of literature from around the world. In the Caribbean Sea, people have had to deal with centuries of racial prejudices and sociological inequity since the first explorers arrived on the island and demanded that those with darker skins become the slaves of those with light skin, a period which still affects the populations of the Caribbean to

The article gave a perfect example of a case study where a lady named Rose husband had a second wife and when explaining it to the counselor she sympathized for Rose when that wasn t a concern for her because in her culture it was normal, in fact she went on to say how the second wife was more life a sister to her and that she wouldn t be able to take care of her family without her. In this case if they counselor would have known more about the ethnical background of Rose the mistaken of thinking that her husband having a second wife wouldn t have happened. This could have easily been a problem if Rose would have to offense to the sympathy comment, or even worse the mistake itself could have worried the counselor where she wasn t able to full understand the situation or maybe even concentrate on the situation because she couldn t stop thinking about making the mistake to begin
  • 33. Quick Death in The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber... Quick Death in The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber Ernest Hemingway created a masterpiece of mystery in his story The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber . The mystery does not reveal itself to the reader until the end of the story, yet it leaves a lot to the imagination. At the end of the story Margaret Macomber kills her husband by accident, in order to save him from being mauled by a large Buffalo while on a safari in Africa. The mystery is whether or not this killing was truly accidental, or intentional. If it was to be considered intentional, there would certainly have to be evidence in the story suggesting such, with a clear motive as well. What makes this mystery unique is that Hemingway gives the reader numerous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Robert Wilson seems to be right in his descriptions of the couple, and their relationship throughout the story. If this is true, and none of his presumptions about the couple are false, then he gains more credibility towards the end of the story. It is at this point that he becomes the advocate of Margot actions, despite the fact that they were intentional. It is Wilson that gives the reader the best description of the relationship between Francis and his wife. It is his insight into Margot, however, that is the most detailed, and which seems to suggest that she might be capable of such an act. From this astute analysis of the two, Wilson shows the reader several very important things. One is the fact, although somewhat machiavellian, that over her husband. Another observation that I somewhat important is the This is the cruelty that Wilson observes in the passage above. This, as she would soon see, was not the case.

The song ended, and I opened my eyes to find my room was full of smoke. I heard Grace down the hall screaming bloody murder: Amber, help! I jumped out of bed and ran down the hall, not aware of my surroundings. I got to Grace s room; all I could see was Grace lying in a bed that was on fire. By the time I got to her room, there was no way of saving her. Grace was engulfed in flames. I stood there for a minute, staring at her, while she looked back at me as her skin melted away. All I could say was, I m sorry! I turned around and headed straight back to my room. I thought to myself, I need to get out of here before I m next. The walls in my room were engulfed in flames; the only way out was through my window. But, I was on the fourth floor of the apartment building. All I thought to myself was, Jump. I gathered the courage to jump. Landing, I broke my leg, but I m alive. Tara asked, How do you feel after leaving your friend there? How do you think I feel? I left my best friend burning in the fire; her skin was melting off the way a hot knife cuts through butter! Those images you can t unsee; things you could never imagine seeing in your life are now burned into my mind. So, how do you think I feel leaving my best friend melting away in her bed? • 36. Racism And Income Inequality In The United States Racism and inequalities have existed, exists now, and will be here long after we are gone. However, racism in this country has been diminished greatly, and though it will never be fully eradicated, it is to the point where all races and ethnicities can achieve great things. All aspects of life, such as income levels, success in the arts, and even college entrance are not beholden to systemic racism. It is a person s own drive, personal life choices, and willingness to work hard that determine their level of achievement. Of the many cultures in this country, some are more goal driven and can better thrive in a capitalist society. Then there are some cultures that don t do so well. • 37. External Conflict In Lord Of The Flies Bedtimes and rules are something many children despise when they are growing up. They want to grow up and break away from their parents. The boys from Lord of the Flies are experiencing what it is like to be on their own when they crash landed on an island with no adults. Boys ranging from ages five to twelve are stranded on an island together and have to learn to adapt to their new environment to survive. This creates many problems among the older boys who want to hold power. William Golding conveys that deprivation from civilization can cause people to completely changetheir morals and sense of right from wrong in his novel Lord of the Flies through the use of external conflictwhich is the boys struggle with power and being stranded on the island, savage characterization, and symbolism such as the Lord of the Flies and Jacks spear. The theme of Lord of the Flies is implied through external conflict. The external conflict in the book expresses the theme by causing disagreements between the boys on what is important to survive on the island. The external conflict is that the boys are stuck on the island and two of the boys, Jack and Ralph, are fighting for power. Jack is a choir boy with a cocky personality, which is causing many conflicts and Ralph has a strong and appealing appearance and personality. Jack thinks hunting is the most important thing on the island right now, and Ralph thinks shelter and a signal fire is more important. Ralph is currently chief right now and has more power causing Jack to fight with him to gain power. Ralph and Jack are bickering on the importance of the signal fire and Ralph states I was talking about smoke! Don t you want to be rescued? All you can talk about is pig, pig, pig! (Golding 54). This quote is an example of the differences between Ralph and Jack. Ralph has more logic about what is important to get rescued instead of Jack because Jack only cares about killing a pig before even thinking about getting rescued which he says in the novel that he would like to kill a pig before being rescued. Another example of how the theme is shown throughout the novel is through savage characterization. Savage characterization conveys the theme by showing the reader how the

Whitman seems to think so, but Descartes claims that all external things cannot trusted because we are being deceived by an evil demon. Both philosopher s obviously differ on what can and cannot consider to be true. Descartes and Whitman had very different ideas of the self and what could affect the self. While Whitman believed that man could achieve knowledge of the self through the senses, Descartes argued that man should throw the senses to the side and only believe in what we could distinctly perceive and truly understand. However, if man mixes both of these philosopher s thoughts on the self then he can really grow to understand and experience the world around him in a much meaningful way... Every human serves an equal purpose, for if the the Fourth month showers have, and the mica on the side of a rock has So then do all man. (Whitman Sec. 19.) This meal is extremely democratic and served its point; that man is not to judge, or be racist, he called for the acceptance of all no matter what. In order to realize how the acceptance of others affects the inner self man has to acknowledge that the outside world influences him, not just physically, but also spiritually. Through the senses man grows to know and really comprehend the self. Whitman describes what he learned from looking deep into the eyes of an ox as more than all the print he has read read in his life (Whitman Sec. 13.) Through experiencing the world, he gained more knowledge than he ever could from just analyzing it from afar and without having a relation with it. Whitman wanted man to know that the only way he could get to know and allow the self to grow was through experiencing the world around him. Section 13 called man to look at nature and all of God s creation. In Section 45 Whitman asked himself

Katie Rose Knoblock Professor Taylor AMH 2010 O1M 6 November 2017 Evolution of the Industrial Revolution Many factories did this by targeting women and children as they could be paid less than men with no repercussions. The workers that were hired to these positions, especially women, were subject to some very harsh work conditions. They were subject to terrible work environments including buildings called sweatshops, which were poorly lit and ventilated for maximum productivity. They were forced to work in dangerous conditions where a person could easily be maimed or even killed if they mishandled the equipment they used for their work. It was not unheard of for the workers to be expected to work as much as 16 hours a day under threats of being fired or even physically abused if they did not complete their work with great speed. Even after all their effort in the workplace, it was not uncommon for a person to be paid as little as a single dollar for their day s efforts. These poor working conditions gave rise to labor unions in the 19th century to insure proper working conditions for all laborers. The labor unions aided in workplace safety and fairness by using a large group of people to sway greedy business owners in the right direction. As the non renewable energy is being replaced by the renewable energy, new initiatives are proposed for the continuous development of supply chain network for biofuel energy. The main aim is to determine the optimal model of supply chain for the biofuel industry, operations of biofuel supply chain, and also design a reliable supply chain network for the biofuel and biomass industries. Multiple papers have been discussed in considering various challenges present in the biofuel production market. The key objective of the paper is to maximize the profit, study the changes in ... Dragone, who received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1985, was at the time working for the Chiquita banana company. Greenwood thought Dragone s formal business training and food industry experience would complement his own product engineering abilities. The concept Greenwood wished to turn into a business was centered on creating portion packs of premium coffee. The coffee inside would stay fresh because nearly all the oxygen would be removed through special packaging techniques (not yet developed at the time). Each pack held its own filter and was enclosed by a foil lid. The portion pack concept held the promise creating a way to brew coffee much more precisely and consistently that any method available at the time. He came to me with a mock up made out of a used yogurt cup. So, I started to create a business plan, said Dragone. Greenwood, perusing a Dutch English dictionary, spotted the word Keurig Dutch for excellence and chose it as the name of the new company. The modified yogurt cup (and its more refined later versions) was dubbed the K Cup. Greenwood would serve as President and CEO of the nascent venture, while Dragone would be the Chief Financial Officer. The partners started presenting their ideas to coffee maker manufacturers such as Westbend and Grindmaster in late 1992. They sought to find an

Olivia turned four years old, on September 29, 2012. She is a very intelligent and precocious child, who does want to be the center of attention, but also knows when she has done something wrong. She is not an only child. She has a brother, Kevin, but it she was unclear in when asked if she had siblings. When asked if she had any brothers or sisters, she said, Yes, but they are my cousins. It was not until Ms. Liz, the teacher, who overheard my asking Oliva if she had siblings, chime in and say, You have a brother Olivia, what about Kevin? Oh, yeah I have Kevin as a brother, Olivia replied. She gave me the impression that because I was not asking about her, she was not interested in talking about her brother. Olivia said that she lives with her Mommy and Daddy, and that she always sees her Aunts and cousins. This led me to believe that her family is close, and involved with one another. Olivia is a very attention seeking child, and likes to be

The prime minister can determine the ministers in each ministry (Johnson, 2004). The head of government has certain degree of authority and freedom to delegate to its ministers, and it can lead the government to more stable political situation because fusion of power between the ministries and prime minister is achieved. Prime ministers can also nominate members of the cabinet but their functions are not just limited to advisory and consultative. The members must decide collectively broad matters of policy, involving foreign affairs, finance, and other issues of concern to the entire government (Hitchner, 1970). The collective body of cabinets reduces the role of prime minister and his executive power. The presidential government has distinctive characteristics compared to parliamentary system. According to Hargrove, presidential government can be defined as by nature, single person office, chosen for a fixed term by a uniquely national constituency, sharing virtually all the powers of the federal government with an equally distinct and independent congress (Hargrove, 1984). The president, who is directly elected by public, is head of the government and also head of the state.
