A Study On Paris Turner And I ll Be Your Osteopathic...
Hello Mr. Williams, my name is Paris Turner and I ll be your osteopathic physician today. Some
background information about me is that I went through four years of basic medical education and
also a specific training on osteopathic manipulative treatment which was very hands on but overall
you ll stay in school for 11 to 18 years, in my case I stayed in school for 11 years at Michigan State
University College of Osteopathic Medicine, now it does seem like a long time to be in school, which
it is but in the end it pays off because my salary is about 140,000 to 300,000 and if you didn t know
this information it is no surprise because not many people are familiar with what an osteopathic
physician is able do but it s just an off branch career ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Osteopathic medicine was founded in the late 1800s in Kirksville, Missouri, by a medical doctor who
recognized that the medical practices of the day often caused more harm than good. He focused on
developing a system of medical care that would promote the body s innate ability to heal itself and
called this system of medicine osteopathy, now known as osteopathic medicine. This leads us back to
business, now it seems to me that you re suffering from swelling and bruising around your phalanges.
And you said that you are going through pain on your fingertips, which are not very normal even
though many people believe so because the bones that we have in our hands are small, but a fractured
finger is not a minor injury. The bones in a normal hand line up exactly with each other, which doesn t
help the situation. So when you have a fractured finger bone, it may cause your whole hand to be out
of alignment and without treatment, your fractured finger will probably stay stiff and painful, which
seems like what you re dealing with unfortunately. So from the symptoms that you re dealing with I
am going to assume that you re dealing a fracture in your phalanges, which is caused by several
things. Our hand can be injured while working with tools such as a saw, or fast moving objects that
would hit your hand and or slamming our hand in a door. So if you don t mind me asking, have you
playing any sports such as basketball, football, or even baseball?

Johannes Kepler s Research Paper
Kepler s Discoveries I much prefer the sharpest criticism of a single intelligent man to the thoughtless
approval of the masses. Said Johannes Kepler in deep thought. He developed smallpox when he was
three, which left him partially disabled and with poor vision. Even though he was disabled he still was
a straight A student who scored well in math. His dream was to enter the ministry, but the economy
forced him to pursue mathematics, which later he realized was Gods leading.

around the sun is elliptical in shape, with the center of the sun being located at one focus. It took five

Billy Sunday Essay
Billy Sunday
For almost a quarter century Billy Sunday was a household name in the United States. Between 1902
when he first made the pages of the New York Times and 1935 when the paper covered his death and
memorial service in detail, people who knew anything about current events had heard of the former
major league baseball player who was preaching sin and salvation to large crowds all over America.
Not everyone who knew of the famous evangelist liked him. Plenty of outspoken critics spoke of his
flashy style and criticized his conservative doctrines. But he had hundreds of thousands, perhaps
millions, of loyal defenders, and they were just as loud in their praise as the critics were in their
criticism. Whether ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also studied Scripture and became unusually generous toward the needy.
Furthermore, Sunday was constrained by an obsession to tell others how he had finally found inner
peace and a more purposeful life. At first through lectures and then in sermons, he related how Jesus
Christ gave him a new life of meaning, peace, and hope. This same gospel, he said, would similarly
transform others. The evidence is overwhelmingly that it did.
If Billy Sunday was sincere devoted, and motivated, he was also a product of his times and an
example of the culture and morals of middle America. On the other hand, Sunday took many stands
against popular beliefs, and he persuaded multitudes to join him in a war against many of the
modernistic ideas of the time that he saw as evil. As he once summarized his opinion so well, What
this world needs is a tidal wave of reform (Sunday Satan 24).
It is true that Sunday was a showman who craved an audience and loved applause. But he also touched
the lives of countless men and women of all social classes, helping them escape various forms of
personal bondage and find freedom in the gospel. And if he did not convert all of urban America to his
brand of Christianity, he at least played a major role in helping to keep conservative biblical
Christianity alive in this century (Dorsett 3). To understand fully why he thought, lived, preached, and
teached the way he did, we should look at his

Media Influence On Children Essay
The powerful media is considered a leading influence in our society both directly and indirectly.
Media is available and readily accessible today more easily than ever. Printed materials, television,
sound recordings, internet, and radio all fall under the umbrella of the big bad or seemingly bad word
media. Is media bad? How is it controlled? And where does this all stem from...? These are some of
the major concerns parents are faced with in raising children in today s times. Although most of our
media appears to be superficial and meaningless fluff, violence and chit chat, it is also a source of
education, humor and non violent entertainment. Both salesmen and individuals wishing to promote
various things have at some point made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A study was conducted on 3,155 children ages 2 18, in regard to the impact of media on society. The
survey was done by The Kaiser Family Foundation, and independent national healthcare philanthropy,
and the results appeared alarming. Children ages 8 and above, 65% have a bedroom TV and 21% have
a bedroom computer. Of all kids, in all ages in our society 69% have a computer at home and 45%
with internet access. One of the many results researchers were surprised to hear that of the children
ages 8 and above, 61% live in homes without any rules regarding TV and internet usage. Many
researchers and educators were alarmed with the extreme results and the percentage of time children
spend watching television. They believe there is a connection between too much media consumption
and violence or acting out among children. (Barbour, et al, 2008) (Clark Blackwell, 2002) In the
discussions regarding the influences media presents to our society two important factors must be
included. On factor, called media literacy was addressed by an educator, Renee Hobbs. Hobbs is
quoted saying Just because our students can use the media and technology doesn t mean they are
effective at critically analyzing and evaluating the messages they receive. Hobbs continues to express
her ideas, by saying children need to be taught the skills to ask important questions about the media
they watch, see, listen to and

Zeitoun Book Report
Sitting in english class, you are handed this book called Zeitoun. Weeks go by, and you just finished
the book; but then your teacher has some news about the book. News that would alter the way you feel
about the book. Zeitoun, by Dave Eggers, is a book about this family who gives you their opinion and
the inside story on what it was like for their family when Hurricane Katrina hit New
Orleans. Zeitoun, who is the father, goes through imprisonment for unknown reasons until later he was
convicted of looting, his family evacuating New Orleans while he stayed behind, and the aftermath of
the storm hitting the area forcefully. Even though he had to go through all of this, Eggers portrays
Zeitoun as this unbreakable super hero that is willing to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eggers did a fantastic job of showing this. Taking the way he wrote could lead to clues that he actually
did try to incorporate the way Zeitoun treated his wife and family. Eggers really did not fully show
that Zeitoun was an unbreakable superhero. He shows how Zeitoun and Kathy disagree on things and
how they argue.(Nashe) When Zeitoun and Kathy went on that walk to this huge rock, Kathy said
multiple times how she wanted to turn back around and forget about what they promised. Zeitoun
would not let her turn around. He would say that they had come to far to turn back. This could allude
to the abuse he put Kathy under. The rock could be the goal, and Zeitoun would want to stay together
and prove that they had a strong marriage and a strong will to grow together. Kathy turning around
could act like her wanting to give up everything they went through and for the both of them to start off
brand new; but Zeitoun won. They walked to the rock, but even though Kathy kept up the strong act
for a while, it did not last. Eggers also showed he was stubborn and that he put a lot of effort into his
work. Zeitoun eventually became a workaholic, partly because of the fact he was imprisoned. After
the storm though, Eggers shows how both of them are broken.(Nashe) Without indirectly adding these
little hints, it is easy to say that Eggers probably did not know about the abuse; but since there are the
tiny hint, it is possible to say that Eggers might have known about some of it. He might not have
known all the details, but he perhaps knew a little something. He does not have the right to come out
and just say that Kathy was abused because he used what the family gave to him. If they gave him the
information, he should have said something, but if they did not give him the information he can not
just accuse Zeitoun. The fact that Eggers and the filmmaker, Jonathan Demme, said Our primary

Research Paper On Atherosclerosis
Introduction Atherosclerosis is the other name for arteriosclerosis, which means arterial hardness.
Arteries carry blood from the heart to the other parts of the body. Healthy arteries are flexible,
sufficiently elastic and strong. Arterial stiffness is common in everyone as they age, which can lead to
restriction of blood flow to the vital organs. This decrease in blood flow might result in heart attack
and stroke. This article discusses various strong and good scientific evidences of dietary supplements
used for preventing and treating Atherosclerosis. Accumulation of fat, LDL cholesterol and calcium in
the arterial walls leads to Atherosclerosis. The accumulated plaque might block the flow of blood in
the artery leading to the loss of blood and oxygen supply to the vital organs. The blocking of blood
flow by the clot results in deep vein thrombosis in the legs and pulmonary embolism in lungs. Clots
mostly create problems in brain, heart and legs, although they can be seen in any part of the body. The
reduction in the oxygen supply to the body parts also happens ... Show more content on

Endothelium will naturally harden as one ages, although certain factors can fasten the process.
Damage in this layer due to high levels of free radicals and low levels of antioxidants, can trigger the
plaque formation. Damage of endothelium occurs due to the intake of high cholesterol diet and
tobacco and high blood pressure resulting in worsening of Atherosclerosis. Endothelial damage leads
to inflammation, causing plaque formation. Atherosclerosis further leads to a condition called
Peripheral artery disease. Progression of Atherosclerosis can be prevented by following a healthy
lifestyle, by avoiding some risk factors, by taking some medications and through a possible surgery.
Scientific evidences that clearly explained about certain dietary elements beneficial in the prevention
and treatment of Atherosclerosis are described

The Importance Of Imagination
Patricia A. McKillip is quoted as saying, Imagination is the golden eyed monster that never sleeps. It
must be fed; it cannot be ignored. And, as children people believed in monsters that lurked in the dim
shadows of our bedrooms or hid beneath their bed; monsters that only existed in our imaginations. As
adults, the monsters no longer lurk, ready to pounce from darkness, but are their imaginations running
rampant. When faced with danger, the mind spirals down two different paths prompted by fear. There
is the path of reason. It is an analytical process taking into account of all the known knowledge and
present situation in a logical view. And then, there is imagination, fantasies crafted by the mind.
Imagination is prone to being unrealistic but is strongly influenced by our emotions. Once the golden
eyed imagination monster emerges from fear, it cannot be ignored as stated in the quote. Imagination
becomes vivid in its scenarios, producing the worst of images, and the mind can do nothing but listen
to the monster because it fears the worst over what is realistic. Imagination overcomes reason when
the mind fears its own fantasies to an extent of overlooking reason. Imagination s strength in fear can
be seen in the life and death situation of the Sailors of Essex in Karen Thompson Walker s TedTalk,
Roderick s debilitating fear of the future in Edgar Allen Poe s Fallen House of Usher, and real life
situations where the mind believes in the unlikely death scenarios

Essay on The Message of Rip Van Winkle
Rip looked, and beheld a precise counterpart of himself, [It appears Rip has seen an exact mirror
image of himself the way others have always perceived him] as he went up the mountain [This was
the way he was before his quot;sleep, quot; or journey up the mountain] : apparently as lazy, and
certainly as ragged [Before he encountered the party on the mountain, he was a casual, rough and lazy
person] . The poor fellow was now completely confounded [It appears to everyone that Rip Jr. was
confused in his thoughts, however, just as Rip Sr. was, he knew exactly what was going through his
head it appeared he had a plan for everything] . He doubted his own identity, and whether he was

He sees how people perceived him and realizes the changes that need to be made, and wants to be

If there s one passage in this story that would summarize the entire story it would be this one. Every
theme throughout Rip Van Winkle is touched on somewhere in here and the constant theme of
quot;who Rip is quot; is the underlying question of both this story and this passage. In the beginning
of the story I think we all took a liking to such a friendly character who cares so much about pleasing
everyone. However, towards the end of the story Rip seems to examine his life and realizes that he
doesn t like everything about himself, and that quite possibly some changes are in order.
We sometimes get so wrapped up in helping and pleasing everyone else around us we forget to pay
attention to our own needs and those especially close to us. Just as what happened to Rip in his
personal and family life, it s obvious that some adjustments need to be made. Rip was a kind caring
person and apparently was always willing to give a hand. It seems everyone in the village took a
certain liking to Rip. Yet his family life needs a lot of attention.
Rip didn t take care of his own farm, fences, wife or children. It can be compared to the shoe maker
without shoes. You spend too much time caring for others needs that the ones closest to you go
unattended. The last thing you want to do is

The Impacts Of Vastuvidya On The Living Environment
Impacts of Vastuvidya on preservation of living environments
Vaastu is the science of direction that combines all the five elements of nature and balances them with
man and materials. Earth, water, fire, air and space are the five main elements of human living. Vastu
principles are based on the analysis of these five sources of energy and their correct utilization.
Vastuvidya is one of the teachings from the ancient Indian civilization. It is a discipline that developed
over the years based on the traditional knowledge gained from studying the nature. They also had
knowledge about the gravitational field, magnetic field, the position of the earth, velocity of the winds,

Some architects argue that vastu vidya is about flexible design guidelines for space, sunlight, flow and
function. While others say it is mere superstition.
However in Sri Lanka, influence of customs and traditions is an essential part of the social life,
business, politics, and any other important activity, irrespective of social standing, education or wealth
and thus despite the impacts and influences of foreign activities, both rural and urban populations
remain tied up with traditions.
There are eight directions in Vastuvidya. These directions are the most important factor in Vastuvidya.
When building a house we have to consider about various part of our house and the direction it is
situated. The importance of orientation of a building is not only for saving energy but also to have a
better healthy house design, which not only gives comfortable living but also gives good health,
prosperity and wealth to the house owners, occupiers and these families.
While selecting a place to build the building in the land, there are two ways. One is Pada Bedima and
the other is Bhumi Chakra. In Pada Bedeema, the site is divided by nine parallel lines and another nine

Volunteer Fire Fighter Dies While Lost in Residential Structure Fire
Explain the issues that lead to his fatality During the month of October, 2008 we lost another fire
fighter in a residential structure fire. The Victim was a 24 Y/O male fire fighter from Alabama who
had been a volunteer with the department for two years. The firefighter training seemed to be standard
for a new volunteer in the area which he served. As always it is tragic to lose a fire fighter and as
always we try to learn from it. The NIOSH report is always written with great detail of their findings,
so as we start to learn more about what happened we can get our facts straight, and hopefully make the
changes so it does not happen again. The NIOSH investigators report did conclude some of the factors
could have been avoided. With this case the NIOSH report was able put together a pretty lengthy list
of what could have been different.
NIOSH found the following (2009) Ensure that fire fighters receive essential training consistent with
national consensus standards on structural firefighting before being allowed to operate at a fire
incident, develop, implement, and enforce written standard operating procedures (SOPs) for
fireground operations, ensure that fire fighters are trained to follow the two in/two out rule and
maintain crew integrity at all times, ensure that adequate numbers of apparatus and fire fighters are on
scene before initiating an offensive fire attack in a

Why Go Back To School Is Important
First I wold let them know that I chose to go back to school not them and that I want to make a better
living for me and my kids. Then I would let them know that I have to set aside the going out and
traveling for a while at least till I get the hang of everything, I have three kids I tell them everyday that
school is important because without reading, writing, and arithmetic. You will need these three things in
order to complete schooling. I also state to my kids that If you do not graduate from any schooling that
it may or may not be easy to find a job. Most people that don t complete school only get the basic
essentials when they return then they go on to college. I just want what s best for me and my kids.
Its good to have a good support system behind you because if not you will lack the responsibility of
what you need assistance with. Some friends do not understand that you have to put some things on

Effect of Motivation on Employees
CHAPTER 1
1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the study
Human capital has emerged as the most critical firm asset, and the ability to attract motivate and retain
capable employees is essential in organization s innovation and quality improvement (Frye, 2004).
These sentiments are supported by Jung and Hartog, (2007) who suggest that, one way for
organizations to become more innovative is to capitalize on their employees ability to innovate. Jung
and Hartog, continue to argue that employees can help to improve business performance through their
ability to generate ideas and use these as building blocks for new and better products, services and
work processes. Therefore, under new work conditions, to create value, every ... Show more content

These sentiments are echoed by Kreitner and Kinicki (2006) who pose that a good reward system
should attract talented people and motivate and satisfy them once they have joined the organization.
Leadership has existed for as long as people have interacted, and it is present in all cultures no matter
what their economic or social makeup. Leadership is not only a human quality; it is found in primitive
forms in many animal species, from low level vertebrates such as chickens to higher level primates
such as gorillas and whales (Troittier, Wart and Wang, 2008). Leaders have a great influence in the
organizations as they fuel employee motivation by offering benefits and rewards that meet individual
needs Kreitner and Kinicki, 2006 and Yukl, 2002). Kim (2002) suggests that a leader s use of a more
participative management style will result in higher levels of satisfaction among his or her employees.
Job satisfaction is extremely important for the well being of the organization as well as the individual
(Vecchio, 2006). The significance of job satisfaction can be viewed in the context of two decisions
people make about their work. The first is the decisions to join and retain in the organization. The
second is the decision to work hard in pursuit of high levels of task performance (Schermerhorn, Hunt
and Osborn, 2000). People s degree of job satisfaction can range from extreme satisfaction to extreme
dissatisfaction. In addition to having attitudes

Barr submitted the concept of what was to become of the museum. It had to be organized as a multi
departmental structure each devoted for Architecture and Design, Photography, Film and Video, and
they should stand side by side with traditional arts such as Painting and Sculpture. Architect Philip
Johnson built on this idea. The multi departmental structure seemed to best fit with the burgeoning
International Style, a modernist architectural movement from which Philip Johnson belonged. In this
architecture, buildings are designed with simple geometric lines and clean, precise surfaces and with
minimum decoration. Walls are made almost entirely of glass, known as curtain walls a signature
Johnson was known for that are used to give the building a light and airy appearance.
The Museum of Modern of Art was the first to use the words International Style , which was a fitting
term to introduce modernist arts to the world. Johnson and another renowned architect Henry Russell
Hitchcock organized a major show under the title Modern Architecture: International Exhibition .
There they described the International Style that expresses several design principles, that concerns
with volume rather than mass and solidity, regularity instead of axial symmetry, and the proscription
of arbitrary applied decoration . Exhibits featured leading European and American architects,
especially the likes of Le Corbusier and Ludwig Mies van der

Authors utilize rhetorical devices in order to convey the true meaning of his work.
In his essay, Complexion, Richard Rodríguez uses the rhetorical modes of description and symbolism.
The description gives the work a story like flow, while the symbolism makes the reader more able to

as a solution; But even in those instances, there was a negative force that required the use of violence.

Early Nuclear Physics Essay
1 Introduction
1.1 A Brief History of Early Nuclear Physics
In the early 1900s it was seen that a small number of alpha particles were deflected by a large angle,
the current model at the time predicted only small deflections of the particles. These results were
explained by introducing a tiny positively charged nucleus into our picture of the atom. Although beta
decay had been observed as early as 1896 and was known to contain electrons, it wasn t until 1914
that they would break the law of energy conservation if just composed of electrons. To account for the
discrepancy in energy during beta decay, Wolfgang Pauli suggested that a very light, neutral charged
particle was also released during beta decay, this particle was named the ... Show more content on

There are numerous models that have been used to describe nuclear structure and the physical
properties that arise. A mathematical model can be scrutinised in a large number of ways, does the
model agree with existing data, can the model be used to make physical predictions, what assumptions
are made etc.. Currently a large factor used in deciding whether to use a model, is the dif ficulty in
solving this mathematical model to produce physical values. A much more complicated model may
give the most accurate results, but the difficulty in obtaining any result e.g. the computational time
required, is not worth the gain in accuracy. A trade off must be made in deciding on the physical
model to be used in the situation. In this article a number of different models will be discussed, the
formulation and the uses of these models will be studied, as well as there uses in physics. Due to the
vast number of areas that nuclear physics is used, such as in cancer treatments, material processing
etc. improvements in our nuclear models are very important and not just studied for scientific
curiosity. [3]

Comparison Of Poems Thanatopsis And Dust In The Reaper
Death is a scary thing no one wants to think about it. But if you are a living thing and are human you
will die.Everyone around you will die. Nothing that is alive around you today will last for ever. So
when it s time comes, you have to remember the good times and say your goodbyes. Thanatopsis
written by William Cullen Bryant, Don t Fear The Reaper written by Oyster Cult, Dust In The Wind
written by Kansas. Each poem talks about death within the poem. They all look at life and death in
different ways how to remember life with others around you, there point on when you die how your

why all three poems look at death differently. The one

Research Beyond The Classroom By Joel Chirinos
Research Beyond the Classroom by Joel Chirinos. The first session that I attended was Research
Beyond the Classroom by Joel Chirinos. He initially explain that research is redoing search to find
what we want to know. His advice was to always focusing in our topic to find the most useful
information. Research is used to support our writings, opinions, etc. From this talk, he made us value
the library as a very important medium to gain useful and credible information that could help us in
our classes. Mr.Chirinos also mentioned how research does not end in the classroom. For example,

Competitive Interactions between Apis and Bombus Essay
The invasive European honeybees create a competitive environment for the native bumblebee as their
ecological niches (species total use of abiotic and biotic resources) overlap; thus, creating a niche
differentiation (the increase in species using resources causes a wider range of resources being used)
between the two species. The invasive and native bees exemplify a symbiotic relationship in which
interaction could possibly be detrimental to both species competition (an interaction in which species
use the same resources). Moreover, the invasive European honeybee (Apis mellifera) decreases the
population of the native bumblebee (Bombus occidentalis) in northern California by creating a niche
overlap and competition for available ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although it is difficult to directly exemplify the impact of invasive European honeybees on native
bumblebees through floral resources, many studies prove there is an indirect relationship between the
species concerning overlapping of their ecological niche (Thomson 2004). Diane Thomson conducted
an experiment measuring the impacts of the invasive honeybee on the native bumblebee through
competition for nectar and pollen resources. Each summer from 1998 through 2000, two to three Apis
colonies (each consisting of 10,000 15,000 workers) were introduced into three sites from early June
to early September (Thomson 2004). Each Apis colony was placed 2 km apart. For the native
bumblebees, B. occidentalis colonies were located at 10 m, 500 m, and 1000 m away from each site.
Since there are three distances, and three different sites, there were nine B. occidentalis colonies in
total. The B. occidentalis species was placed in the same location every year; however, the distance
treatment was altered (Thomson 2004). To reduce the factors that may alter the results, laboratory
reared colonies were used to minimize any differences in the Bombus colonies and weighed to keep
the amount consistent (Thomson 2004). Overall, Thomson s experiment exemplified the direct effects
of the invasive Apis species on reproductive success and foraging activity of the native Bombus.
Observations showed Apis foragers declined with distances in flower patches (Thomson 2004).

Summary Of Angela Davis Are Prisons Obsolete
Welcome to Literature Links. This week in the Literature Link s office, we have been thoroughly
captivated by Angela Davis s Are Prisons Obsolete?, a profoundly informative nonfiction text that
encourages the reader to question the universal acceptance of the prison system in contemporary
society. Davis offers an alternative reading on the issue of the relevance of the prison system and
perpetuates the discourse that the entire prison system is unnecessary, harmful and fundamentally
structured upon racist ideologies. Davis, a prominent American abolitionist activist, systematically
evaluates the prison industrial complex in relation to a multitude of discourses such as its history, the
racist ideologies and gender constructs it enforces, and

The Indian Act Of 1876 And The Amendment Of 1985
Since the beginning of colonization, indigenous people of Canada have been repressed in many ways
by the Westerners. Aboriginal women have been having a really hard time, being not only aboriginal,
but also women in a male dominated society where women are seen as secondary and don t have all
the rights and privileges that men have. We will focus here on the legal discrimination against
indigenous women in Canada that came with the Indian Act of 1876 and the amendment of 1985, how
those two events influenced women. We will first study why indigenous women have been more
discriminated than indigenous men, then how the Indian Act reinforced this inequity. Then we will see
how the 1985 amendment came to be, a century later and what are the consequences of legal
discrimination for indigenous women in Canada. We will conclude that, in a context of discrimination
against natives with colonization, the Indian Act made legal injustices in detriment of indigenous
women, and that after years of favouritism against them they finally gained a bit of justice through the
amendment of 1985.
First of all, it s important to understand the context in which the Indian Act is taking place in terms of
equity for aboriginal women. With the colonization from the British and the French in Canada came
rapes, violence against indigenous population, especially women that were seen as weaker and easier
prey . After the colonizing period, violence against aboriginal women came not only from the

Ancient Greek Food
Ancient Greek Food Imagine yourself in a room with one of best cooks in all of Ancient Greece, you
are watching him put in Bechamel Sauce, the Kalamata Olives, and Feta Cheese, you breathe in and
smell the dish as it comes together. Then he pours in the best red wine in all of Ancient Greece, and
lets his creation sit for forty five minutes. Now it is your turn to try the masterpiece. You feel as if
your mouth has exploded with the best flavors you have ever tried. Soteriades the Sage was one of the
most famous cooks in Ancient Greece. Legends say he served many kings and always had a new dish
for each type of person he served, including the elderly, lovers, and philosophers. This is proven in my
source Greekalicious a historical cookbook written by Maria Bernardis; Who (Soteriades the Sage)
claimed he prepared different dishes for different moods and ages. The Ancient Greeks had very
similar culinary techniques as the modern day Greeks. The Greeks valued a variety of foods and plants
and incorporated them in preparing some of their finest dishes, many that are still prepared and eaten
today.
Bread and wine were some of the most important ingredients to the Ancient Greeks. They ate bread
with almost every meal. The Ancient Greeks most common breakfast was bread dipped in red wine
with fruit. They also occasionally ate bread with lunch and dinner and often had it as a midnight
snack. To support this, the Ancient Greeks drank wine with their breakfasts.

Who Is The Ford Mustang Commercial
Because of my love for the Ford Mustang, I chose a Ford Mustang commercial for this assignment.
The commercials premise is unsuspecting men meet a beautiful woman in a coffee shop for a blind
date, the woman purposely projects a non adventurous persona. At the conclusion of the coffee date,
the woman offers to give them a ride home in her Ford Mustang. Initially during the drive home the
woman pretends she is not familiar with driving the car, most of the men offer her instructions and one
suggests that she let him drive to show her what the car can really do. Shortly into the drive home, she
pulls into an empty parking lot and really pushes the car to the limits. She performs a multitude of
highly skilled maneuvers, burnouts, high speed stopping, drifting, etc. What all of these men did not
know is this woman is actually a professional stunt driver and is more than capable of driving this
powerful vehicle. The men s reactions were hilarious. Most of them seemed to enjoy the adrenaline
fueled ride, while others looked horrified sitting in the passenger seat. Being a bit of an adrenaline
junky myself, I really enjoyed this advertisement. I could feel my adrenaline rising as she was
performing all those high speed maneuvers. The advertisement was also very ... Show more content on

audience. Even if the audience were not interested in the Ford Mustang, they would watch this to see
the men s reactions. The sympathetic audience appeal was easy to obtain by the creators. Besides the
comedic values, the adrenaline charged ride and the car itself are enough to win the

Analysis Of The Movie The Car Ride Home
The car ride home was an awkward one. Neither Lexi nor Noah said a word to each other for a long
time. Both of them were trying to collect their thoughts, a task that could only be done in silence. All
Noah could think about was that gorgeous girl that had gotten between the fight. Who was she? She
had courage to step into a shifter fight like that. Maybe she didn t know they were shifters but either
way she had a certain badass air to her. She was so amazing. But why was he thinking about her when
Lexi was right there on the side of him? Wasn t Lexi the one he was supposed to be with? Wasn t that
the whole point of tonight? He had the flowers in the back seat, ready to ask her to be his girlfriend,

Lexi had no idea and it scared her. She glanced at Noah quickly. He seemed tense, driving with a
serious look on his face. She could tell that he was deep in thought. What was he thinking about? Lexi
wondered before sighing softly. Why couldn t she just make the right decision and stay with Noah?
Was it the right decision though? Would being with Noah really make her happy or would her heart
always yearn for more? They both simmered down in their own thoughts for a while, trying to make
sense of their confusing emotions. It was the longest car ride ever. Eventually, however, Noah pulled
into his parking space and they got out. They walked up to the fourth floor in silence before Noah
finally said, Hey do you want to come in for some tea or something? There s something I really have
to tell you. Noah had a serious look on his face that made Lexi nervous. For some reason, his words
had caused a knot in her stomach to form and now she was scared of what he might say. Was he going
to quit being her friend because of Logan? Lexi would understand if he did. It wasn t his job to protect
her from other guys. With her heart in her mouth, Lexi nodded and followed Noah inside. It was warm
and inviting inside, but the whole situation made her uneasy. What was Noah going to tell her? Go
ahead and get comfy and I ll make some tea, alright? Lexi nodded and made her way to the couch,
waiting for Noah to return. He looked at her and made sure

Hospital Management Information Management System
Objective At present the health care system of Bangladesh faces major challenges. We are unable to
provide even primary medical care to our people let alone secondary and tertiary medical care. The
current scenario of information flow in most of the hospital in Bangladesh presents a paper based,
time consuming, inefficient system leading to problems of inefficient utilization of resources and
problems to patients. All these problems and poor coordination are closely connected to our failure to
use health information technology as an integral part of medical care. Not only that we face
difficulties in retaining specialists in non urban areas. The distribution of specialists in Bangladesh is

Cultural Genocide Definition
Cultural Genocide
What is cultural genocide? Is it the destruction of a race, or the destruction of their history and
religion. But to discuss this first we need to know what the concept of what Cultural Genocide is, it
was made by a Jewish Polish lawyer named Raphael Lawkins, as a component of genocide. One
theory is that he made the definition of cultural genocide as: the systematic destruction of racial,
political, or cultural group . But the reason why it s, in theory, is because he made the word in
reference of the United Nations Bill of Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People when he was
working on it. Although because the word was scrapped and removed in the final draft and replaced
with the word genocide, it ended with the precise definition of cultural genocide unclear and vague.
Because of this, the word Ethnocide is used by Ethnologists instead of cultural genocide. But
regardless this word has become so powerful and useful when relating it to the horrible historic events
like the Nazis, vilifying and destroying Jewish culture, and Genghis Khan destroying the Baghdad
house of wisdom, with the residential schools in Canada, that was meant to Kill the Indian in the child
.
It s a well known fact, that Nazi Germany put the exact same effort into destroying Jewish culture as
they did into fighting world war two. Inside the literary masterpiece Anne Frank The Diary Of A
Young girl the start of the book showed how they were limiting and destroying Jewish culture with
laws and jurisdictions. In the book, anne stated that: Jews were required to do their shopping between
3 and 5 P.M.; Jews were required to frequent only Jewish owned barbershops and beauty parlors... .
Another good example is the night of broken glass, In terms, the night of broken glass was a response
to the death of Ernst vom Rath who was killed by Herschel Grynszpan a Jewish student. So in two
days, 1000 synagogues were burned, 7,500 Jewish businesses destroyed, with 91 Jews killed and
30,000 arrested. In the famous book The Book Thief , It did an excellent job of portraying the
horrifying events of the Kristallnacht (Night of Broken Glass) but it also bring another piece of
cultural genocide into the spotlight, The

Deforestation And The Global Issue Of Deforestation
Needs
Human needs can be illustrated by question 2 as the Physical, environmental and social causes of
deforestation are predominantly created by human needs. In turn these causes hinder sustainability.
This report states that although it is important to meet the needs of humans, the needs must be satisfied
in a sustainably conscious manner. For this to be achieved, direct effects of each human need must be
critically analysed and understood. This paper aims to deliver this by identifying particular human
actions that contribute to the global issue of deforestation.
Furthermore, the paper will identify the satisfiers and individual activities that contribute to this issue
of deforestation and the needs they are fulfilling. This is illustrated in question 3.
This report strongly contends that Deforestation is created predominantly by Logging, Mining,
Urbanisation and Agriculture. Each of these causes is initiated by human needs and in turn has
detrimental effects on the environment on a global scale.
Logging, which is largely apparent in many countries particularly in Asia and Africa and mining
hinders the development of a sustainable environment. These issues both degrade the environment as
they destroy natural habitats, reduce biodiversity, and contribute to the release of greenhouse gas
emissions ( Illegal Logging, n.d).
This in turn pollutes the environment, as Forests are large storages of greenhouse gases, and as a result
of deforestation, these gases are released

Using identification and hope in a domestic violence group can have a positive change on peer
relationships within the group (Gladding, 2016). Identification occurs when group members can relate
to another member and hope is thoughts that the future and possibilities will be better (Gladding,

Bank Financial Audit Teams Need Financial And Security...

Each year, OSA Financial Audit teams need financial and security files from all 58 Community
Colleges (CC). Since the data files may be used in any engagement types (e.g. financial statement
audits, federal compliance audits, information systems audits, performance audits, and investigations),
files are requested regardless of whether or not OSA will be performing a financial statement audit for
the current year.
OSA Information Systems Audit (ISA) auditors request submission of files from the Community
College Systems Office, obtain a list of the community colleges that will be audited for the current
fiscal year from the Financial Audit Team Manager, process files once received and provide the output
of ACL scipts to the Fianancial teams via Audit Exchange (AX).

Three items must be sent to the Community College Systems Office in April: a letter, FTP instructions
for sending the files, and User IDs for the Community Colleges. The Community College Systems
Office distributes the request for data files and related information to all CIOs and CFOs of the
community colleges.
The year end accrual financial audit files are to be transmitted as soon as the school closes the accrual
period in August with a Community College submisstion deadline of September 30 fo the current
fiscal year. The security files are to have an effective date of May or June of the fiscal year being

Buck V. Bell Case Study
Module 3 Activity: Buck v. Bell Since the time of the court s decision, what changes have been made
in the lives of individuals who are intellectually disabled? There have been widespread societal
changes in the way in which individuals with intellectual disabilities are treated since the court made
its decision in the 1920s. These changes lead to those with disabilities being able to participate in
more areas of normal life. This movement to remove barriers for people with disabilities is called
normalization (Hallahan, Kauffman, Pullen, 2015). Prior to the 1970 s, those with intellectual
disabilities were placed in institutions, but after this time there was an effort to keep people with
intellectual disabilities in their own communities. This change has both positive and negative
implications. While this brought people with intellectual disabilities back to their communities and
helped them integrate into a more normal way of life, many are now in jails or homeless. A second
piece of normalization that is particular to education is inclusion. This is the practice in which students
with exceptionalities are included in a general education classroom with their peers (Hallahan,
Kauffman, Pullen, 2015). This practice is also controversial, as there are a myriad of opinions
regarding which students ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparing Fairbairn s Motivation Behind His Departure...
nd contrast Fairbairn s motivation behind his departure from Freud s structural model and
development of object relation s theory
Introduction
It is widely accepted that Sigmund Freud coined the term Psychoanalysis.
Within this he derived a number of models over the period of his life to explain how the psyche
operates and from where trauma originates, which subsequently led to the development of
psychoanalysis.
Ronald Fairbairn was a lecturer at the University of Edinburgh teaching medicine where he
incorporated his extensive knowledge of Freud s structural model in his lectures. It was during this
time that uncertainties provoked Fairbairn to questions the accuracy of the structural model and
initiated Fairbairn s quest to find an alternative theory, which later led to him becoming one of the key
contributors to Object relations theory along side, Melanie Klein, and D.W Winnicott. (Object
relations theory and practice An introduction, David E. Scharff, pg 5 1996)
This essay will compare and contrast some of the key reasons for Fairbairn s departure from Freud s
Structural model and drive theory and look at the theory behind object relations and how it is used in
therapy today.
The Pleasure principle
Freud s structural model illustrates that within every individual there is tripartite structure consisting
of the Id, Ego and Super Ego.
Freud argued that an individual s instinctual drive was sexually orientated. In the same way that

Satire In Mel Brooks Blazing Saddles
Satire walks a fine line between funny and not. If the audience does not understand the true intentions
of a satirical film then it is often seen as being offensive. Satire is designed to bring attention to
serious issues by making fun of them. Due to the nature of subjects often broached in satirical films
people often mistake them for supporting the very ideals they are trying to bring attention to. This can
be seen in Mel Brooks Blazing Saddles as the characters will often say very offensive things and if
one did not understand that it was all meant to be taken with a few grains of salt then they would
interpret the movie as being extremely offensive. Due to satires ability to bring attention to the

Queer Representation Of All Ages Media Essay
Queer Representation in All Ages Media Growing up as a Catholic, Puerto Rican gay boy in the 90s
and early 2000s, I struggled to discover my queer identity as well as queer representation in the media
I consumed. Being gay was something that was never discussed. If it was brought up, it was usually in
hushed tones (I remember being introduced to my uncle s close friend each holiday) or as something
negative (I still remember the sting of being called a faggot in elementary school). This reflected
exactly how homosexuality was portrayed in media at the time. Queer characters and homosexuality
were at best portrayed in codified, blink and you ll miss it labels and affectations, or at worst,
something to laugh at, pity or even hate. As someone who still regularly watches reads comics,
watches Saturday morning cartoons and plays video games, it is so exciting to discover the lengths of
progress that has been made in queer representation in all ages media. In this paper I hope to detail the
highs and lows of LGBTQ representation in all ages media and highlight the impact of media
representation. Before celebrating the strides of queer representation in all ages media, it is important
to look back at queer representation in the past. The late film scholar Vito Russo painstakingly
researched the evolution of queer representation in cinema in his landmark book The Celluloid Closet.
In both the book and the documentary based of the book, Russo details the

Project Management Plan For Laguardia Airport Renovation...
Regardless of the type of project being initiated, planned and implemented, building a culture of risk
management is indispensable for the successful completion of the project.
Indeed, Project Risk Management includes the processes of conducting risk management planning,
identification, analysis, response planning, and controlling risk on a project. (PMBOK Guide Fifth
Edition, 2013).
Within that framework, it is important to state that successful project managers mostly differentiate
themselves in their ability of addressing, analyzing and managing risks effectively.
As a matter of fact, our research paper which focuses on the Renovation of the Terminal B of
LaGuardia Airport will address a model of risk management plan for this ongoing project.
In other words, we will first and foremost develop a risk management plan, identify the different risks
associated to the project, then conduct a qualitative risk analysis.
Finally, we will propose a risk response planning for handling those risks.

Different Career Paths And How My Personality And Values...
Curious about possibilities, INFPs enjoy all sorts of creative endeavors . According to the Meyer
Briggs Type Indicator test, this is just one of the things that describe my personality. It is difficult to
describe a person off of a set of algorithms. However, tests like the MBTI and the Strong Interest
Inventory help pave a pathway to beginning to understand yourself. The results from both tests
amplified a lot of what I already knew about myself and also offered new insights. Currently I am
trying to decide between different career paths and these tests aid in making the choice. Finally, the
values and interests that arise from both tests closely align with the types of jobs I want to have but
also offered new jobs to consider. This class helped me understand who I am according to the tests, the
career path I would like to take, and how my personality and values align with my future goals.
The Strong Interest Inventory analyzed my interests and gave me the theme of Social. The test
highlighted many interests that are prevalent to me. For example, it states that I enjoy people,
teamwork, helping and community service. I am a theater and community major with an applied
psychology minor. One of the main reasons I chose this major is because it aligns with all those
aspects. Theater involves people, teamwork, and community service while applied psychology helps
me learn the skills to help others in any context. The Strong said that work activities I enjoy are

Mr Headstone
Marriage is the union of two people who want to spend the rest of their lives together. In order to get
married, either the man or woman in the relationship must propose to their partner. In Jane Austen s
Pride and Prejudice, Mr. Collins proposes to his partner in a self centered and detached manner,
whereas Mr. Headstone, in Charles Dickens Our Mutual Friend, proposes in a romantic and touching
way. Austen s character, Mr.Collins, mainly focusses on himself when he is proposing, which causes
him to come across as selfish and unemotional. Mr. Collins thinks that It is the right thing for him to
get married to set the example (2). This suggests that Mr. Collins wants to be married because he feels
he needs to set the example for his parish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Headstone, demonstrates his love and respect for his partner. Simply and sincerely, Mr. Headstone
begins his proposal with I love you (1). Focussing on his partner, the word you shows that his love for
her is the most important factor in his desire to marry. When describing his feelings, Mr. Headstone
says that he is under the influence of some tremendous attraction which [he has] resisted in vain and
which overmasters [him] (3). Expressing that Mr. Headstone, despite trying, cannot fight the love he
feels towards his partner adds to the emotional and honest tone of his proposal. Mr. Headstone tells his
partner that she could draw [him] to any good every good with equal force. (12). Mr. Headstone would
do anything for her, this is emphasised with the use of both any good and every good . Contrasted to
Mr. Collins, who sees his partner as someone who could boost his own reputation, Mr. Headstone
demonstrates his willingness to protect and sacrifice for his girlfriend when he states that his
reputation would be a shield for [his partners] (15). Mr. Headstone hopes that his girlfriend will say
yes to his proposal because he loves her unconditionally, and he would do anything for her. Mr.
Collins partner will most likely reject him due to his arrogance, however, Mr. Headstone s partner will
probably agree to marry him on account of his touching, honest proposal. Marriage proposals should

Essay on Ban the Use of Cluster Bombs
Ban the Use of Cluster Bombs
It looked like the ball boys and girls toss each other during Hmong New Year festivities. Six year old
Sia Ya threw it to her four year old brother, He couldn t catch it and it landed behind him, exploding
and killing him instantly. Sia Ya died after two agonizing days and nights in the provincial hospital.
(Account of Laotian cluster bomblet accident in 1996 Laos War Legacy )
I. INTRODUCTION Cluster bombs were first used in the American conflict in Vietnam and Laos in
the sixties. They became popular because they are one of the cheapest air delivered weapons available,
costing about $60 per bomblet. They can be used against a variety of targets covering significant
areas, rather than, for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some bombs open up (Multi dispensers), and other eject out the submunitions (Single dispensers).
Submunitions are classified as bomblets, grenades, or mines. They are small explosive filled or
chemical filled items designed for saturation coverage of a large area that can expand from several
football fields to hundreds of acres. They may be antipersonnel (APERS), antimateriel (AMAT),
antitank (AT), dual purpose (DP), incendiary, or chemical.
Most submunitions are used to destroy an enemy/vehicle in place (impact submunitions). They are
designed to go off when they hit the ground.
For example, the ball type submunitions used during the Laotian conflict are called APERS. They are
very small (of the size of a tennis ball) and are delivered by the hundreds for each bomb. If not
detonated upon impact, they will lie hidden like a land mine, and will not blow up until pressure is put
on it. When it hits the ground, a small fragmentation ball shoots up and detonates about 6 feet above
the ground.
The AMAT and/or AT submunitions are designed to destroy hard targets such as vehicles and
equipment. They are dispersed from an aircraft dropped dispenser and function when they hit a target
or the ground. The fin assembly stabilizes these submunitions in flight so they hit their targets straight
on. The submunitions are also used to destroy hard targets such as vehicles and

Vocal Cabaret Essay
To Much is Never Enough at Vocal Cabaret
Cypress Lake High School presented a night full of performances by vocal majors and vocal minors.
Being the Fall Cabaret one can look forward to a year filled with talented voices filling the school
auditorium.
On Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 7:00p.m. in the school auditorium, the Cypress Lake High
School Center for the Arts vocal department held their annual vocal cabaret, which involved the
audience, a few lights, and a good amount of inspired singers/musicians. Mr. Gary Stroh, head of the
vocal department, let the students take over when it came to performing. He allowed his students to
introduce acts, play their own instruments, and run the concessions outside of the performance area.

Brittany Russel sang Nobody Love , she sang with magnificent range and gave the audience a nice
pair of chills down their arms, because you could tell she sang from a personal perspective. She carries
this certain style where it s very raw and emotional. To bring an upbeat into the room Madison Slamka
and Gillian Marino s performance of The Beatles Come Together allowed the audience to release their
worries and stress of the week that lay behind them. Their duet performance was entertaining and
colorful, the two girls added their own style which gave the performance an extra twist on the song.
This allowed the girls to not just sing the same style as the original artist, but to take the next step and
recreate a clever, melodic song into something that was their own. One of my favorite performances of
the night was The A Cappella Group. Their three numbers were amazing and left me wanting so much
more. Even though Callie Atkinson was a featured soloist performing Hold my Hand, the groups back
up was essential for the emotional feeling of the song. As incredible as their performances were, there
was this one distractions to the group. The random movement of their upper bodies drew attention

Advantages Of Gold Dinar System
Gold dinar system is one of the tools that can be recognised as a good indicator in international trade.
It is also can be determine as a valued metal because people over the world always demanding over it.
For my opinion regarding to this system, I strongly believe that the gold dinar system will benefiting
us over the world. As for Malaysia that has been categorised as a Muslim country, then it is the best
position to prove the efficiency of the system. Since we have been used fiat money in our system for
today, the currency of the paper actually does not have any intrinsic value. Thus, the currency that we
have nowadays, does not stable but eventually it is also fluctuated in its value unpredictably. By
having this system, it is actually a great solution for the current world financial ... Show more content

The possibility of the value that is fluctuated by the gold must be only by little percentage whether it is
up or down. So, it is not attainable to devalue the gold by higher percentage. From this level, the gold
dinar currency can be known as a good currency in international trade between the nations. If we have
been using gold as our currencies against the traded products in the market, then there will be no such
a problem regarding to the exchange rate. The using of the gold dinar is not intended to be used as a
currency for our daily transaction but we can be used this for the national currencies. I found that this
system have a good combination of few factors that will boost from any economic turbulence thus
gives a lot of opportunity towards business sector in the international trade. By having the gold dinar
system, the trades of bilateral and multilateral among the other countries can be straightening out
thereby to eradicate the foreign exchange risk. For this mode, gold is to be utilized as a unit of account
and a medium of trade rather than the national monetary

Mount Rushmore Research Paper
Mount Rushmore is one of the greatest monuments in the United States that represents American
heros. It took the sculptor, Gutzon Borglum 14 years from 1927 to 1941 to complete the national
memorial. The four heads chiseled into the granite wall in South Dakota today are George
Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. These are four great
leaders of America, and the question is: If four more people were added to Mount Rushmore, who
would it be and why? The four best people to represent America on Mount Rushmore next should be
Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Amelia Earhart, and Helen Keller for their perseverance and hard
work for equal rights.

known women pilots in the world. She broke the women s altitude record in 1922 and the women s
speed record for 100 kilometers with and without a load. She also placed third in the First Women s

Examples Of Hunger In Night By Elie Wiesel
Hunger made Elie and his father only closer, but everyone has to eat. The quote is after Elie and his
father ran more than 20 kilometers from Auschwitz to an abandoned village. Being hungry, thirsty,
and especially exhausted would be the only things a person would think if they had done the march
while hungry and thirsty. But Elie comes said that quote to prove the strength of the bond between him
and his father. Another time in which the prisoners marched was running to Gleiwitz. They stayed
there for three days with no food or water, the prisoners were moved into roofless cattle cars, almost
100 people in a car. The prisoners were handed the usual ration before getting on the train and ate
snow in order to quench their thirst. Many of the prisoners are all in a condition not fit enough to make
a march, but there was something pushing those people to keep on surviving. Elie had witnessed
another father and son in the group, however they did not have a bond like his. Starvation drives
people to their limits sometimes and cannot handle themselves. Meir was beating up his own father for
some crumbs of bread, meanwhile the father is pleading with his son to not kill him, Meir, my little
Meir! Don t you recognize me... you re killing your father... I have bread... for you too... for you too...
(Wiesel 101). Then, he searched his father s body just for the crumbs, however other prisoners jumped
on top of Meir, looking for the same miniscule crumbs. For Elie, he dreamed about soup and

  • 2. A Study On Paris Turner And I ll Be Your Osteopathic... Hello Mr. Williams, my name is Paris Turner and I ll be your osteopathic physician today. Some background information about me is that I went through four years of basic medical education and also a specific training on osteopathic manipulative treatment which was very hands on but overall you ll stay in school for 11 to 18 years, in my case I stayed in school for 11 years at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, now it does seem like a long time to be in school, which it is but in the end it pays off because my salary is about 140,000 to 300,000 and if you didn t know this information it is no surprise because not many people are familiar with what an osteopathic physician is able do but it s just an off branch career ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Osteopathic medicine was founded in the late 1800s in Kirksville, Missouri, by a medical doctor who recognized that the medical practices of the day often caused more harm than good. He focused on developing a system of medical care that would promote the body s innate ability to heal itself and called this system of medicine osteopathy, now known as osteopathic medicine. This leads us back to business, now it seems to me that you re suffering from swelling and bruising around your phalanges. And you said that you are going through pain on your fingertips, which are not very normal even though many people believe so because the bones that we have in our hands are small, but a fractured finger is not a minor injury. The bones in a normal hand line up exactly with each other, which doesn t help the situation. So when you have a fractured finger bone, it may cause your whole hand to be out of alignment and without treatment, your fractured finger will probably stay stiff and painful, which seems like what you re dealing with unfortunately. So from the symptoms that you re dealing with I am going to assume that you re dealing a fracture in your phalanges, which is caused by several things. Our hand can be injured while working with tools such as a saw, or fast moving objects that would hit your hand and or slamming our hand in a door. So if you don t mind me asking, have you playing any sports such as basketball, football, or even baseball? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Said Johannes Kepler in deep thought. He developed smallpox when he was three, which left him partially disabled and with poor vision. • 4. Billy Sunday Essay Billy Sunday For almost a quarter century Billy Sunday was a household name in the United States. Between 1902 when he first made the pages of the New York Times and 1935 when the paper covered his death and memorial service in detail, people who knew anything about current events had heard of the former major league baseball player who was preaching sin and salvation to large crowds all over America. Not everyone who knew of the famous evangelist liked him. Plenty of outspoken critics spoke of his flashy style and criticized his conservative doctrines. But he had hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of loyal defenders, and they were just as loud in their praise as the critics were in their criticism. Whether ... Furthermore, Sunday was constrained by an obsession to tell others how he had finally found inner peace and a more purposeful life. At first through lectures and then in sermons, he related how Jesus Christ gave him a new life of meaning, peace, and hope. This same gospel, he said, would similarly transform others. The evidence is overwhelmingly that it did. If Billy Sunday was sincere devoted, and motivated, he was also a product of his times and an example of the culture and morals of middle America. On the other hand, Sunday took many stands against popular beliefs, and he persuaded multitudes to join him in a war against many of the modernistic ideas of the time that he saw as evil. As he once summarized his opinion so well, What this world needs is a tidal wave of reform (Sunday Satan 24). It is true that Sunday was a showman who craved an audience and loved applause. But he also touched the lives of countless men and women of all social classes, helping them escape various forms of personal bondage and find freedom in the gospel. And if he did not convert all of urban America to his brand of Christianity, he at least played a major role in helping to keep conservative biblical Christianity alive in this century (Dorsett 3). Media is available and readily accessible today more easily than ever. Printed materials, television, sound recordings, internet, and radio all fall under the umbrella of the big bad or seemingly bad word media. Is media bad? How is it controlled? And where does this all stem from...? These are some of the major concerns parents are faced with in raising children in today s times. Children ages 8 and above, 65% have a bedroom TV and 21% have a bedroom computer. Of all kids, in all ages in our society 69% have a computer at home and 45% with internet access. One of the many results researchers were surprised to hear that of the children ages 8 and above, 61% live in homes without any rules regarding TV and internet usage. Many researchers and educators were alarmed with the extreme results and the percentage of time children spend watching television. They believe there is a connection between too much media consumption and violence or acting out among children. News that would alter the way you feel about the book. Zeitoun, by Dave Eggers, is a book about this family who gives you their opinion and the inside story on what it was like for their family when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. Zeitoun, who is the father, goes through imprisonment for unknown reasons until later he was convicted of looting, his family evacuating New Orleans while he stayed behind, and the aftermath of the storm hitting the area forcefully. Even though he had to go through all of this, Eggers portrays Zeitoun as this unbreakable super hero that is willing to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Eggers did a fantastic job of showing this. Taking the way he wrote could lead to clues that he actually did try to incorporate the way Zeitoun treated his wife and family. Eggers really did not fully show that Zeitoun was an unbreakable superhero. He shows how Zeitoun and Kathy disagree on things and how they argue.(Nashe) When Zeitoun and Kathy went on that walk to this huge rock, Kathy said multiple times how she wanted to turn back around and forget about what they promised. Zeitoun would not let her turn around. He would say that they had come to far to turn back. This could allude to the abuse he put Kathy under. The rock could be the goal, and Zeitoun would want to stay together and prove that they had a strong marriage and a strong will to grow together. Kathy turning around could act like her wanting to give up everything they went through and for the both of them to start off brand new; but Zeitoun won. They walked to the rock, but even though Kathy kept up the strong act for a while, it did not last. Eggers also showed he was stubborn and that he put a lot of effort into his work. Zeitoun eventually became a workaholic, partly because of the fact he was imprisoned. After the storm though, Eggers shows how both of them are broken.(Nashe) Without indirectly adding these little hints, it is easy to say that Eggers probably did not know about the abuse; but since there are the tiny hint, it is possible to say that Eggers might have known about some of it. He might not have known all the details, but he perhaps knew a little something. He does not have the right to come out and just say that Kathy was abused because he used what the family gave to him. • 7. Research Paper On Atherosclerosis Introduction Atherosclerosis is the other name for arteriosclerosis, which means arterial hardness. Arteries carry blood from the heart to the other parts of the body. Healthy arteries are flexible, sufficiently elastic and strong. Arterial stiffness is common in everyone as they age, which can lead to restriction of blood flow to the vital organs. This decrease in blood flow might result in heart attack and stroke. This article discusses various strong and good scientific evidences of dietary supplements used for preventing and treating Atherosclerosis. Accumulation of fat, LDL cholesterol and calcium in the arterial walls leads to Atherosclerosis. The accumulated plaque might block the flow of blood in the artery leading to the loss of blood and oxygen supply to the vital organs. The blocking of blood flow by the clot results in deep vein thrombosis in the legs and pulmonary embolism in lungs. • 9. The Importance Of Imagination Patricia A. McKillip is quoted as saying, Imagination is the golden eyed monster that never sleeps. It must be fed; it cannot be ignored. And, as children people believed in monsters that lurked in the dim shadows of our bedrooms or hid beneath their bed; monsters that only existed in our imaginations. As adults, the monsters no longer lurk, ready to pounce from darkness, but are their imaginations running rampant. When faced with danger, the mind spirals down two different paths prompted by fear. There is the path of reason. It is an analytical process taking into account of all the known knowledge and present situation in a logical view. And then, there is imagination, fantasies crafted by the mind. Imagination is prone to being unrealistic but is strongly influenced by our emotions. Once the golden eyed imagination monster emerges from fear, it cannot be ignored as stated in the quote. Imagination becomes vivid in its scenarios, producing the worst of images, and the mind can do nothing but listen to the monster because it fears the worst over what is realistic. Imagination overcomes reason when the mind fears its own fantasies to an extent of overlooking reason. Imagination s strength in fear can be seen in the life and death situation of the Sailors of Essex in Karen Thompson Walker s TedTalk, Roderick s debilitating fear of the future in Edgar Allen Poe s Fallen House of Usher, and real life situations where the mind believes in the unlikely death scenarios ... However, towards the end of the story Rip seems to examine his life and realizes that he doesn t like everything about himself, and that quite possibly some changes are in order. Volunteer Fire Fighter Dies While Lost in Residential Structure Fire Explain the issues that lead to his fatality During the month of October, 2008 we lost another fire fighter in a residential structure fire. The Victim was a 24 Y/O male fire fighter from Alabama who had been a volunteer with the department for two years. The firefighter training seemed to be standard for a new volunteer in the area which he served. As always it is tragic to lose a fire fighter and as always we try to learn from it. The NIOSH report is always written with great detail of their findings, so as we start to learn more about what happened we can get our facts straight, and hopefully make the changes so it does not happen again. The NIOSH investigators report did conclude some of the factors could have been avoided. With this case the NIOSH report was able put together a pretty lengthy list of what could have been different. NIOSH found the following (2009) Ensure that fire fighters receive essential training consistent with national consensus standards on structural firefighting before being allowed to operate at a fire incident, develop, implement, and enforce written standard operating procedures (SOPs) for fireground operations, ensure that fire fighters are trained to follow the two in/two out rule and maintain crew integrity at all times, ensure that adequate numbers of apparatus and fire fighters are on scene before initiating an offensive fire attack in a ... Leadership is not only a human quality; it is found in primitive forms in many animal species, from low level vertebrates such as chickens to higher level primates such as gorillas and whales (Troittier, Wart and Wang, 2008). The significance of job satisfaction can be viewed in the context of two decisions people make about their work. The first is the decisions to join and retain in the organization. Grendel is monster that first appears in the epic poem Beowulf. Gardner later takes the character on for his own adaption. In Grendel the monster Grendel struggles with humans and his own inner demons throughout the whole book. Throughout history, people have been forced to use violence as a solution; But even in those instances, there was a negative force that required the use of violence. • 20. Early Nuclear Physics Essay 1 Introduction 1.1 A Brief History of Early Nuclear Physics In the early 1900s it was seen that a small number of alpha particles were deflected by a large angle, the current model at the time predicted only small deflections of the particles. These results were explained by introducing a tiny positively charged nucleus into our picture of the atom. Although beta decay had been observed as early as 1896 and was known to contain electrons, it wasn t until 1914 that they would break the law of energy conservation if just composed of electrons. To account for the discrepancy in energy during beta decay, Wolfgang Pauli suggested that a very light, neutral charged particle was also released during beta decay, this particle was named the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are numerous models that have been used to describe nuclear structure and the physical properties that arise. A mathematical model can be scrutinised in a large number of ways, does the model agree with existing data, can the model be used to make physical predictions, what assumptions are made etc.. Currently a large factor used in deciding whether to use a model, is the dif ficulty in solving this mathematical model to produce physical values. A much more complicated model may give the most accurate results, but the difficulty in obtaining any result e.g. the computational time required, is not worth the gain in accuracy. A trade off must be made in deciding on the physical model to be used in the situation. In this article a number of different models will be discussed, the formulation and the uses of these models will be studied, as well as there uses in physics. Due to the vast number of areas that nuclear physics is used, such as in cancer treatments, material processing etc. improvements in our nuclear models are very important and not just studied for scientific curiosity. Competitive Interactions between Apis and Bombus Essay The invasive European honeybees create a competitive environment for the native bumblebee as their ecological niches (species total use of abiotic and biotic resources) overlap; thus, creating a niche differentiation (the increase in species using resources causes a wider range of resources being used) between the two species. The invasive and native bees exemplify a symbiotic relationship in which interaction could possibly be detrimental to both species competition (an interaction in which species use the same resources). Moreover, the invasive European honeybee (Apis mellifera) decreases the population of the native bumblebee (Bombus occidentalis) in northern California by creating a niche overlap and competition for available ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although it is difficult to directly exemplify the impact of invasive European honeybees on native bumblebees through floral resources, many studies prove there is an indirect relationship between the species concerning overlapping of their ecological niche (Thomson 2004). Diane Thomson conducted an experiment measuring the impacts of the invasive honeybee on the native bumblebee through competition for nectar and pollen resources. Each summer from 1998 through 2000, two to three Apis colonies (each consisting of 10,000 15,000 workers) were introduced into three sites from early June to early September (Thomson 2004). Each Apis colony was placed 2 km apart. For the native bumblebees, B. occidentalis colonies were located at 10 m, 500 m, and 1000 m away from each site. Since there are three distances, and three different sites, there were nine B. occidentalis colonies in total. The B. occidentalis species was placed in the same location every year; however, the distance treatment was altered (Thomson 2004). To reduce the factors that may alter the results, laboratory reared colonies were used to minimize any differences in the Bombus colonies and weighed to keep the amount consistent (Thomson 2004). Overall, Thomson s experiment exemplified the direct effects of the invasive Apis species on reproductive success and foraging activity of the native Bombus. Aboriginal women have been having a really hard time, being not only aboriginal, but also women in a male dominated society where women are seen as secondary and don t have all the rights and privileges that men have. We will focus here on the legal discrimination against indigenous women in Canada that came with the Indian Act of 1876 and the amendment of 1985, how those two events influenced women. We will first study why indigenous women have been more discriminated than indigenous men, then how the Indian Act reinforced this inequity. Then we will see how the 1985 amendment came to be, a century later and what are the consequences of legal discrimination for indigenous women in Canada. We will conclude that, in a context of discrimination against natives with colonization, the Indian Act made legal injustices in detriment of indigenous women, and that after years of favouritism against them they finally gained a bit of justice through the amendment of 1985. First of all, it s important to understand the context in which the Indian Act is taking place in terms of equity for aboriginal women. • 31. Cultural Genocide Definition Cultural Genocide What is cultural genocide? Is it the destruction of a race, or the destruction of their history and religion. But to discuss this first we need to know what the concept of what Cultural Genocide is, it was made by a Jewish Polish lawyer named Raphael Lawkins, as a component of genocide. One theory is that he made the definition of cultural genocide as: the systematic destruction of racial, political, or cultural group . But the reason why it s, in theory, is because he made the word in reference of the United Nations Bill of Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People when he was working on it. Although because the word was scrapped and removed in the final draft and replaced with the word genocide, it ended with the precise definition of cultural genocide unclear and vague. Because of this, the word Ethnocide is used by Ethnologists instead of cultural genocide. But regardless this word has become so powerful and useful when relating it to the horrible historic events like the Nazis, vilifying and destroying Jewish culture, and Genghis Khan destroying the Baghdad house of wisdom, with the residential schools in Canada, that was meant to Kill the Indian in the child . It s a well known fact, that Nazi Germany put the exact same effort into destroying Jewish culture as they did into fighting world war two. Inside the literary masterpiece Anne Frank The Diary Of A Young girl the start of the book showed how they were limiting and destroying Jewish culture with laws and jurisdictions. In the book, anne stated that: Jews were required to do their shopping between 3 and 5 P.M.; Jews were required to frequent only Jewish owned barbershops and beauty parlors... . Another good example is the night of broken glass, In terms, the night of broken glass was a response to the death of Ernst vom Rath who was killed by Herschel Grynszpan a Jewish student. So in two days, 1000 synagogues were burned, 7,500 Jewish businesses destroyed, with 91 Jews killed and 30,000 arrested. Deforestation And The Global Issue Of Deforestation Needs Human needs can be illustrated by question 2 as the Physical, environmental and social causes of deforestation are predominantly created by human needs. In turn these causes hinder sustainability. This report states that although it is important to meet the needs of humans, the needs must be satisfied in a sustainably conscious manner. For this to be achieved, direct effects of each human need must be critically analysed and understood. This paper aims to deliver this by identifying particular human actions that contribute to the global issue of deforestation. Furthermore, the paper will identify the satisfiers and individual activities that contribute to this issue of deforestation and the needs they are fulfilling. This is illustrated in question 3. This report strongly contends that Deforestation is created predominantly by Logging, Mining, Urbanisation and Agriculture. Each of these causes is initiated by human needs and in turn has detrimental effects on the environment on a global scale. Logging, which is largely apparent in many countries particularly in Asia and Africa and mining hinders the development of a sustainable environment. These issues both degrade the environment as they destroy natural habitats, reduce biodiversity, and contribute to the release of greenhouse gas emissions ( Illegal Logging, n.d). This in turn pollutes the environment, as Forests are large storages of greenhouse gases, and as a result of deforestation, these gases are released ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There have been widespread societal changes in the way in which individuals with intellectual disabilities are treated since the court made its decision in the 1920s. These changes lead to those with disabilities being able to participate in more areas of normal life. This movement to remove barriers for people with disabilities is called normalization (Hallahan, Kauffman, Pullen, 2015). Prior to the 1970 s, those with intellectual disabilities were placed in institutions, but after this time there was an effort to keep people with intellectual disabilities in their own communities. This change has both positive and negative implications. While this brought people with intellectual disabilities back to their communities and helped them integrate into a more normal way of life, many are now in jails or homeless. A second piece of normalization that is particular to education is inclusion. This is the practice in which students with exceptionalities are included in a general education classroom with their peers (Hallahan, Kauffman, Pullen, 2015). Comparing Fairbairn s Motivation Behind His Departure... nd contrast Fairbairn s motivation behind his departure from Freud s structural model and development of object relation s theory Introduction It is widely accepted that Sigmund Freud coined the term Psychoanalysis. Within this he derived a number of models over the period of his life to explain how the psyche operates and from where trauma originates, which subsequently led to the development of psychoanalysis. Ronald Fairbairn was a lecturer at the University of Edinburgh teaching medicine where he incorporated his extensive knowledge of Freud s structural model in his lectures. It was during this time that uncertainties provoked Fairbairn to questions the accuracy of the structural model and initiated Fairbairn s quest to find an alternative theory, which later led to him becoming one of the key contributors to Object relations theory along side, Melanie Klein, and D.W Winnicott. (Object relations theory and practice An introduction, David E. Queer Representation Of All Ages Media Essay Queer Representation in All Ages Media Growing up as a Catholic, Puerto Rican gay boy in the 90s and early 2000s, I struggled to discover my queer identity as well as queer representation in the media I consumed. Being gay was something that was never discussed. If it was brought up, it was usually in hushed tones (I remember being introduced to my uncle s close friend each holiday) or as something negative (I still remember the sting of being called a faggot in elementary school). This reflected exactly how homosexuality was portrayed in media at the time. Queer characters and homosexuality were at best portrayed in codified, blink and you ll miss it labels and affectations, or at worst, something to laugh at, pity or even hate. As someone who still regularly watches reads comics, watches Saturday morning cartoons and plays video games, it is so exciting to discover the lengths of progress that has been made in queer representation in all ages media. Regardless of the type of project being initiated, planned and implemented, building a culture of risk management is indispensable for the successful completion of the project. Indeed, Project Risk Management includes the processes of conducting risk management planning, identification, analysis, response planning, and controlling risk on a project. (PMBOK Guide Fifth Edition, 2013). Within that framework, it is important to state that successful project managers mostly differentiate themselves in their ability of addressing, analyzing and managing risks effectively. As a matter of fact, our research paper which focuses on the Renovation of the Terminal B of LaGuardia Airport will address a model of risk management plan for this ongoing project. In other words, we will first and foremost develop a risk management plan, identify the different risks associated to the project, then conduct a qualitative risk analysis. According to the Meyer Briggs Type Indicator test, this is just one of the things that describe my personality. It is difficult to describe a person off of a set of algorithms. However, tests like the MBTI and the Strong Interest Inventory help pave a pathway to beginning to understand yourself. The results from both tests amplified a lot of what I already knew about myself and also offered new insights. Currently I am trying to decide between different career paths and these tests aid in making the choice. Finally, the values and interests that arise from both tests closely align with the types of jobs I want to have but also offered new jobs to consider. For example, it states that I enjoy people, teamwork, helping and community service. I am a theater and community major with an applied psychology minor. One of the main reasons I chose this major is because it aligns with all those aspects. Theater involves people, teamwork, and community service while applied psychology helps me learn the skills to help others in any context. Mr. Headstone would do anything for her, this is emphasised with the use of both any good and every good . Contrasted to Mr. Collins, who sees his partner as someone who could boost his own reputation, Mr. Headstone demonstrates his willingness to protect and sacrifice for his girlfriend when he states that his reputation would be a shield for [his partners] (15). Mr. Headstone hopes that his girlfriend will say yes to his proposal because he loves her unconditionally, and he would do anything for her. Some bombs open up (Multi dispensers), and other eject out the submunitions (Single dispensers). Submunitions are classified as bomblets, grenades, or mines. They are small explosive filled or chemical filled items designed for saturation coverage of a large area that can expand from several football fields to hundreds of acres. They may be antipersonnel (APERS), antimateriel (AMAT), antitank (AT), dual purpose (DP), incendiary, or chemical. Most submunitions are used to destroy an enemy/vehicle in place (impact submunitions). They are designed to go off when they hit the ground. For example, the ball type submunitions used during the Laotian conflict are called APERS. They are very small (of the size of a tennis ball) and are delivered by the hundreds for each bomb. If not detonated upon impact, they will lie hidden like a land mine, and will not blow up until pressure is put on it. When it hits the ground, a small fragmentation ball shoots up and detonates about 6 feet above the ground. The AMAT and/or AT submunitions are designed to destroy hard targets such as vehicles and equipment. They are dispersed from an aircraft dropped dispenser and function when they hit a target or the ground. The fin assembly stabilizes these submunitions in flight so they hit their targets straight on. The submunitions are also used to destroy hard targets such as vehicles and ... She carries this certain style where it s very raw and emotional. To bring an upbeat into the room Madison Slamka and Gillian Marino s performance of The Beatles Come Together allowed the audience to release their worries and stress of the week that lay behind them. Their duet performance was entertaining and colorful, the two girls added their own style which gave the performance an extra twist on the song. This allowed the girls to not just sing the same style as the original artist, but to take the next step and recreate a clever, melodic song into something that was their own. One of my favorite performances of the night was The A Cappella Group. Their three numbers were amazing and left me wanting so much more. Even though Callie Atkinson was a featured soloist performing Hold my Hand, the groups back up was essential for the emotional feeling of the song. For my opinion regarding to this system, I strongly believe that the gold dinar system will benefiting us over the world. As for Malaysia that has been categorised as a Muslim country, then it is the best position to prove the efficiency of the system. Since we have been used fiat money in our system for today, the currency of the paper actually does not have any intrinsic value. Thus, the currency that we have nowadays, does not stable but eventually it is also fluctuated in its value unpredictably. By having this system, it is actually a great solution for the current world financial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From this level, the gold dinar currency can be known as a good currency in international trade between the nations. If we have been using gold as our currencies against the traded products in the market, then there will be no such a problem regarding to the exchange rate. The using of the gold dinar is not intended to be used as a currency for our daily transaction but we can be used this for the national currencies. I found that this system have a good combination of few factors that will boost from any economic turbulence thus gives a lot of opportunity towards business sector in the international trade. • 49. Examples Of Hunger In Night By Elie Wiesel Hunger made Elie and his father only closer, but everyone has to eat. The quote is after Elie and his father ran more than 20 kilometers from Auschwitz to an abandoned village. Being hungry, thirsty, and especially exhausted would be the only things a person would think if they had done the march while hungry and thirsty. But Elie comes said that quote to prove the strength of the bond between him and his father. Another time in which the prisoners marched was running to Gleiwitz. They stayed there for three days with no food or water, the prisoners were moved into roofless cattle cars, almost 100 people in a car. The prisoners were handed the usual ration before getting on the train and ate snow in order to quench their thirst. Many of the prisoners are all in a condition not fit enough to make a march, but there was something pushing those people to keep on surviving. Elie had witnessed another father and son in the group, however they did not have a bond like his. Starvation drives people to their limits sometimes and cannot handle themselves. Meir was beating up his own father for some crumbs of bread, meanwhile the father is pleading with his son to not kill him, Meir, my little Meir! Don t you recognize me... you re killing your father... I have bread... for you too... for you too... (Wiesel 101). Then, he searched his father s body just for the crumbs, however other prisoners jumped on top of Meir, looking for the same miniscule crumbs. For Elie, he dreamed about soup and ...
