The study demonstrates the efficient use of ammonium chloride as a catalyst for the microwave-assisted Claisen-Schmidt reaction between ketones and aldehydes under solvent-free conditions, yielding various compounds in good to excellent yields. This method presents advantages over traditional methods, such as reduced reaction time and the elimination of hazardous solvents, reinforcing the importance of environmentally friendly synthetic methodologies. The results indicate that the proposed method is viable for synthesizing α,α'-bis(arylmethylene)cycloalkanones and related compounds, offering a significant advancement in organic synthesis.
