The document discusses testing conducted on hardened concrete cylinders drilled from a dam in India to study their stress-strain behavior and determine elastic parameters. 10 concrete cylinder samples were tested for properties like unit weight, water absorption, ultrasonic pulse velocity, modulus of elasticity, Poisson's ratio, and crushing strength. The stress-strain curves of 2 samples tested under controlled strain conditions showed increased strain at failure compared to conventional testing. The results are presented in a table and figures showing typical stress-strain behaviors.
A shock absorber is a mechanical device designed to reduce the amplitude of damp shock impulse, and dissipate kinetic energy which helps in improved ride quality, and increase in comfort. Substantially reduced amplitude of disturbances that effected while travelling over rough ground. The aim of the current work is to analyse by considering load acting on the single shock absorber spring. Structural analysis is done to validate the strength while load acting on the spring. Comparison is done analytically for different materials, diameter of wires and number of coils to get the design of spring in shock absorber. The experimental results are compared with virtual results. From this work the design of the spring can be modified within standards.

Generally automotive systems are subjected to dynam ic and static loads,due to hives driving and adverse conditions of the road surface,thus it causes cracks,noise,vibration and failure in an automobile,since in general the total effect of work for automobile system is lowered. Such effect is arising due to behaviour in types of loading,construction and condition of the work where the automobile system is and reducing it s strength. Therefore however most of the Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) chassis are man ufactured by welding to reduce the weight of the chassis. Hence there is a more stress concentration occurs at a welded joint region. The fundamental task is to develop a model of welded joint to sustain various loads of LCV chassis. Effect of different design parameters,properties of material are observed with respect to the strength of the weld and location of stress concentrations are identified. During the design process model parameters are often alter ed to evaluate alternative welding joining choices,to reduce weight of the system to sustain varying loading conditions without failure.

Skid resistance of road surfaces is an important safety parameter. Decreasing skid resistance correlates with increasing number of accidents.
Skid resistance is one of the substantial factors which ensure safe travelling on automobile roads. Because of poor road safety situation, old vehicle fleet and many vehicles that are driven with old or outworn tyres there is a need to improve safety situation. Road pavements with high and long-lasting skid resistance could be a solution.
Developing pavements with high skid resistance it is essential to develop harmoniously from tyre and road contact noise and rolling resistance point of view. All these characteristics are important and related with road surface texture.
This apparatus measures the skid resistance between a rubber slider (mounted on the end of a pendulum arm) and the test surface. This provides highway engineers with a routine method of checking the resistance of wet and dry surfaces to slipping and skidding, both in the lab and on site.
The British Pendulum Skid Resistance Tester is an impact type pendulum used to measure the energy loss when a rubber slider edge is propelled over a test surface. The values measured represent the frictional properties and are expressed as BPN (British Pendulum Number).

aim of the work is to analyze various parameters like stresses, stiffness, material etc., of single degrees of freedom,
vibrational absorption system of an Automobile. The vibrational absorption system of an Automobile is taken with
that experimental analysis was done and various parameters are collected. From the different values are taken and
the results are manipulated. Then similar work like this has to be done in Ansys with the given boundary conditions
and the results are obtained and compared. Further alterations in the vibration absorption system are made to
improve its life cycles.

Parametric study of light gauge steel lipped channel column sectioneSAT Journals
Abstract Light gauge steel lipped channel sections are being used popularly in shops, factories, automobile engineering and industries on account of their high strength to width ratio, simplicity in construction, flexibility in fabrication and high structural efficiency. A lot of research work has been carried out to study the structural behavior of axially loaded light gauge steel lipped column sections considering different parameters. However, structural behavior of light gauge steel lipped channel sections under eccentric loading has not received much attention. The present paper focuses on the experimental study of structural behavior of light gauge steel lipped channel sections under eccentric loading by varying loading position in between center of gravity and shear center of channel column section. Finite element analysis of the section is also done using Abaqus software for different positions of the load. The results indicate that, load carrying capacity of the section increases as the loading position shifts towards supported edge of the section. The failure of the section occurs in the form of local-distortional buckling approximately between 1/3rd - ½ of the height of column. Results obtained by software are found to be in good agreement with experimental results.
