This document summarizes an analysis of the flexural behavior of confined and unconfined rectangular concrete beams. Three beam samples were tested: one with internal confinement using stirrups, one with external confinement using mesh wrapping, and one without confinement. Testing found that the externally confined beam had the highest load carrying capacity and withstood the greatest strains before failure. The internally confined beam performed better than the unconfined beam but not as well as the externally confined beam. In conclusion, external confinement was found to be the most effective at improving a beam's ductility and strength.

When steering acts to turn the vehicle, tie rod comes under compressive load. And when vehicle running on rough road condition, fluctuating forces.
In a multi-storied building, the beam-column joint is one of the most critical regions. Usually the beam-column joint was considered as rigid frames. Various researchers over the past years indicated that the joint is not rigid. Now it is also stated that instead of the failure in beam and column, failure can also occur in joint hence joint must be considered as a structural member. The Indian standards define a joint as the portion of the column within the depth of the deepest beam that frames into the column. In framed structures the bending moment and shear forces are maximum at the junction area. So, beam column joint is one of the failure zones. Among the beam column joints, the exterior joint is more critical. The exterior beam column joint have been a study for about 30 years since now. Still there are many more to be understood. In the present work a building is designed in STAAD. Pro V8i and an exterior beam column joint is considered. This joint is modelled in NX CAD and imported to ANSYS to analyse it to derive the shear stress and the corresponding deformation. SLIDING WEAR OF AA6061/CARBON BLACK METAL MATRIX COMPOSITESIAEME Publication
In this study, the effects of carbon black amount on fracture and wear behaviors of AA6061-carbon black metal matrix composites produced by stir casting route were investigated. Wear tests were performed in a pin on type wear apparatus under different loads of 10, 20, 30 N with different sliding speeds of 2, 3 and 4 m/s, at three different sliding distances of 500, 750 and 1000 m. The design of experiments was carried out as per Taguchi technique. Wear rate function was determined in terms of volume fraction, normal load, sliding speed and sliding distance. It was found that there was a good agreement between the theoretical and the experimental value of wear rate. Maximum sliding wear of 68.72% was attributed sliding distance. Sliding wear resistance increases by 42.56% for AA6061/30%CB metal matrix composites as compared to the matrix alloy AA6061

they have advantages of higher power density, quieter
operation etc., compared to spur gears. Conventional gear
design is based on various design criteria, including durability
and bending strength load rating. In recent times, fracture
failure modes are gaining importance in addition to
conventional failure modes. Stresses due to operating fatigue
loads and internal residual stresses can cause fatigue fracture
failure on the surface, sub-surface of gear flanks or at tooth
root of gears. During gear design, various parameters are
optimized, and one such parameter is the helix angle that is
optimized for power density and gear noise. However, effect of
possible defects (voids and inclusions) in the gear tooth is not
usually considered in these calculations. This paper is a study
on severity of defects in a gear blank relative to power density
increment. Three different gear geometries (spur and helical
gears with two different helix angles) each with similar defects
are considered. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used to
analyze Tooth Interior Fracture (TIF), and study variation of
Stress Intensity Factor (SIF) with crack size and helix angle.
It is seen that power density increment of a common gear
blank through helix angle increment poses a higher risk of
crack severity, as the same gear blank is exposed to higher
operating loads.

Here we are proposing the modification of one of the material that is changing cast iron into a composite polymer material. The proposed system has many advantages over other system such as making the device, simpler and having maximum safety and is ecofriendly. The analysis of the system proves all the above features mention above. The reason for considering polymer is that property of polymer is mostly similar to the property of metal. Composite polymers are characterized by a high flexibility material. The revolutionary evolution in technologies in last year allowed reducing stress and strain. In the present work ANSYS 13 has been used for analysis of knuckle joint with modified material and varying loads.
Behavior Of Castellated Composite Beam Subjected To Cyclic Loadsirjes
The purpose of this study is to determine the behavior of beam-column sub-assemblages castella
due to cyclic loading. Knowing these behaviors can if be analyzed the effectiveness of the concrete filler to
reduce the damage and improve capacity of beam castella. Test beam consists of beam castella fabricated from
normal beam (CB), castella beams with concrete filler between the flange (CCB) and normal beam (NB) as a
comparison. Results showed castella beam (CB) has the advantage to increase the flexural capacity and energy
absorption respectively 100.5% and 74.3%. Besides advantages, castella beam has the disadvantage that
lowering partial ductility and full ductility respectively 12.6 % and 18.1%, decrease resistance ratio 29.5 %
and accelerate the degradation rate of stiffness ratio 31.4%. By the concrete filler between the beam flange to
improve the ability of castella beam, then the beam castella have the ability to increase the flexural capacity of
184.78 %, 217.1% increase energy absorption, increase ductility partial and full ductility respectively 27.9 %
and 26 %, increases resistance ratio 52.5 % and slow the rate of degradation of the stiffness ratio 55.1 %..

Abstract Now-a-days the use of castellated beam has been admired due to its beneficial functions like light in weight, easy to erect, economical and stronger. The castellated beam is manufactured from its parent solid I beam by cutting it in zigzag pattern and again joining it by welding, so that the depth of the beam increases. Hence, due to increase in depth of beam load carrying capacity of the parent I section is increased with same quantity of material. The increase in depth of castellated beam leads to web post buckling and lateral torsional buckling failure when these beams are subjected to loading. There are many other modes of failure like formation of flexure mechanism, lateral torsional buckling, and formation of vierendeel mechanism, rupture of the welded joint in a web post and shear buckling of a web post which needs to be taken care of. Study shows that use of stiffeners in the web portion of beam helps in minimizing these failures. Therefore, a detailed study in respect of number of stiffeners, size of stiffener and there locations in the web portion of castellated beam needs to be carried out. Hence, in the present paper an attempt has been made to review existing literature, concerned with strength of beam using stiffeners. The literature survey indicates that use of stiffeners in web portion of castellated beams helps in increasing the strength and also minimizing the deflection. Researchers have suggested using stiffener along the edges in order to reduce the stress concentration along openings.. Key Words: openings, castellated beam, cellular beam, stiffener, thickness.

Behavior of RC Beams Retrofitted/Strengthened With External Post-Tension SystemINFOGAIN PUBLICATION
This paper presents a study on the flexural behavior of strengthened RC beams using external post-tensioning technique under the effect of cyclic loads. Post tensioning techniques is a new method to improve the behavior of cracked and sound beams. This new technique was used in this research to improve the behavior of cracked and un-cracked beams. The study consists of two stages, the first stage is an experimental program which is carried out in lap to test casted beams, and the second stage is a theoretical program which was carried out to verify the results of experimental program. The behavior of RC beams in different levels of cracks was studied, crack pattern was observed and failure type was recorded. Comparisons between the behaviors of different RC beams were performed. The experimental study included using of prestressing steel bars, GFRP bars and the effect of different percentage of shear reinforcement was also taken into consideration. Specimens were tested under the effect of cyclic load. Finally the simulations of tested beams were modeled in finite element software (ANSYS) to verify the results of experimental work compared to theoretical analysis.

Base isolation is a mechanism that provides earthquake resistance to the new structure. The base isolation system decouples the building from the horizontal ground motion induced by earthquake, and offers very stiff vertical components to the base level of the superstructure in connection to substructure (foundation). It shifts the fundamental lateral period, dissipates the energy in damping, and reduces the amount of the lateral forces that transferred to the building, inter-story drift, and the floor acceleration.
The work deals with modelling and finite element analysis of a high damping rubber bearing in ANSYS 12.0. A displacement controlled transient analysis was done to analyse the behaviour of the isolator during earthquakes.

The study investigated the design optimization of these hybrid systems, focusing on understanding solar radiation patterns, identifying geographical influences on solar radiation, formulating a mathematical model for system optimization, and determining the optimal configuration of PV panels and pumped hydro storage. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. Additionally, the study provides valuable insights for advancing energy research in economically viable areas. Recommendations included conducting site-specific assessments, utilizing advanced modeling tools, implementing regular maintenance protocols, and enhancing communication among system components.

A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
