RSA and RC4 Cryptosystem Performance Evaluation Using Image and TextYekini Nureni
The process of transforming plaintext data into cipher text in order to conceal its meaning in case it fall to hand of unauthorized recipient is refers to as encryption. The systems that perform the encryption processes are known as cryptosystems, there are several cryptosystem algorithms: RSA, RC4, DES, 3DES, Blowfish, AES, IDEA, Skipjack, DSA, ElGamal, etc. The major features that identify and differentiate one cryptosystem algorithm from another are its ability to secure the protected data against attacks and its speed/efficiency. In this paper: application software was designed to implement RSA, and RCA encryption algorithms with advanced features of visual Basic 6 for the front end interface. Microsoft Access is used to design backend of the application, and the Macromedia Flash was also used to incorporate dynamic features that enhance the appearance of the application. The program was used to compare the performance of RSA and RC4. The encryption operation was carried out for both RSA and RC4 using five text files and five graphic files of different sizes 10, 50, 100, 150, and 200 kilobyte respectively. The major factor considered for measuring the performance of the algorithms (RSA and RC4) is the speed of execution using time of execution (TE) as parameter for the evaluation. The performance result was presented and analyzed. We discovered that the RC4 is better compare to RSA algorithm based on the experimental facts presented and the result analysis of the two evaluated algorithms.

Abstract Network security is one of the major concerns in the modern world. In this regard, a strong security technique is required to protect user data. Cryptography techniques plays an important role in secured transmission through encryption of data and thus ensuring integrity, authenticity, confidentiality of information. Several encryption algorithms have been proposed like AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), DES (Data Encryption Standard) and RSA. These provide very good encryption for text applications. However, these encryption schemes appear not to be ideal for image applications. Some algorithms like GKSBC and RC6 provide very good encryption for digital images. New techniques are emerging that are aimed at providing secured transmission of images over networks. The FBDK (Fixed Block with Dynamic Key Size) block cipher is a new cryptography technique designed using simple operations like XOR, substitutions, circular shifting. The FBDK algorithm is applicable for blocks of any size with key size being dynamic for each block. It does not involve any complex mathematical operations like modular exponentiation. It is a hybrid cryptography technique based on symmetric key and asymmetric key cryptosystems. This paper investigates the security of FBDK block cipher for digital images against brute-force attack, statistical analysis and Differential analysis attacks. In this paper, various security analysis tests has been discussed which are helpful in finding out whether the FBDK encryption algorithm can do secure encryption or not. Experimental results proves the security and efficiency of FBDK cipher for images against all aforementioned types of attacks which justifies its consideration for real time image applications. Encryption is a technique that transforms a code from an understandable into an incomprehensible code. Many methods can be applied to an encryption process. One such method is RSA. RSA works by appointing on byte values. The value is obtained from character conversion to ASCII code. This algorithm is based on the multiplication of two relatively large primes. Applications of the RSA algorithm can be used in data security. This research provides RSA algorithm application on data security system that can guarantee data confidentiality. RSA algorithm is known as a very secure algorithm. This algorithm works with the number of bits in the search for prime numbers. The larger the bits, the less chance of ciphertext can be solved. The weakness of this method is the amount of ciphertext capacity will be floating in line with the number of prime numbers used. Also, to perform the process of encryption and decryption, RSA requires a relatively long time than other algorithms. The advantage of RSA is that complicated ciphertext is solved into plaintext.
Survey of Hybrid Encryption Algorithm for Mobile Communicationijsrd.com
To enhance the security of data transmission in Mobile communication, a hybrid encryption algorithm based on DES and RSA is proposed. The currently used encryption algorithm employed to protect the confidentiality of data during transport between two or more devices is a 128-bit symmetric block cipher. In the proposed hybrid encryption algorithm, DES algorithm is used for data transmission because of its higher efficiency in block encryption, encryption speed of DES algorithm is faster than RSA algorithm for long plaintext, and RSA algorithm distribute key safely and easily also RSA algorithm is used for the encryption of the key of the DES because of its management advantages in key cipher. Under the dual protection with the DES algorithm and the RSA algorithm, the data transmission in mobile communication system will be more secure. Meanwhile, it is clear that the procedure of the entire encryption is still simple and efficient. Digital abstract algorithm MD5 is adopted in this mechanism. Through comparing the digital signature which is transmitted by dispatcher and digital signature result of plaintext which is got by receiver through MD5 algorithm, data security can be guaranteed. This mechanism realizes the confidentiality, completeness, authentication and non- repudiation.
Bluetooth technology is an emerging wireless networking standard, which is based on chip that provides short-range wireless frequency hopping communication. Now, Bluetooth technology is mainly applied to the communication between mobile terminal devices, such as palm computers, mobile phones, laptops and so on. However, the phenomenon of data-leaking frequently arises in using the Bluetooth technology for data transfer. To enhance the security of data transmission in Bluetooth communication, a hybrid encryption algorithm based on DES and RSA is proposed. The currently used encryption algorithm employed by the Bluetooth to protect the confidentiality of data during transport between two or more devices is a 128-bit symmetric stream cipher called E0. The proposed hybrid encryption algorithm, instead of the E0 encryption, DES algorithm is used for data transmission because of its higher efficiency in block encryption, and RSA algorithm is used for the encryption of the key of the DES because of its management advantages in key cipher. Under the dual protection with the DES algorithm and the RSA algorithm, the data transmission in the Bluetooth system will be more secure. This project is extended with triple des in place of des to enhance more security.
ENHANCED SECURE ALGORITHM FOR MESSAGE COMMUNICATIONIJNSA Journal
This paper puts forward a safe mechanism of data transmission to tackle the security problem of information which is transmitted in Internet. The encryption standards such as DES (Data Encryption Standard), AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) and EES (Escrowed Encryption Standard) are widely used to solve the problem of communication over an insecure channel. With advanced technologies in computer hardware and software, these standards seem not to be as secure and fast as one would like. In
this paper we propose a encryption technique which provides security to both the message and the secret key achieving confidentiality and authentication. The Symmetric algorithm used has two advantages over traditional schemes. First, the encryption and decryption procedures are much simpler, and consequently, much faster. Second, the security level is higher due to the inherent poly-alphabetic nature of the substitution mapping method used here, together with the translation and transposition operations performed in the algorithm. Asymmetric algorithm RSA is worldwide known for its high security. In this paper a detailed report of the process is presented and analysis is done comparing our proposed technique with familiar techniques
AES and DES are two different crypto algorithms having different features. This projects consists of integrating these algorithms to develop a new structure. Here, read and write of text files is employed. Thus, the text files listed should exist in the same folder as the project is in. Implementation is carried in VHDL on Modelsim.

Cryptography is the study of mathematical techniques related to aspects of information security such as confidentiality, data integrity, entity authentication and data again authentication. We describe new public-key cryptosystems that produce constant-size cipher texts such that efficient delegation of decryption rights for any set of cipher texts is possible. Cryptosystem or cryptographic system is any sort of methodology for encoding and accessing that information. In this technique the master key holder can release a constant-size aggregate key for flexible choices of cipher text set in cloud storage, but the other encrypted files outside the set remain confidential. This compact aggregate key can be conveniently sent to others or be stored in a smart card with very limited secure storage. We provide formal security analysis of our schemes in the standard model. We also describe other application of our schemes. In particular, one can aggregate any set of secret keys and make them compact as a single key but encompassing the power of all the keys being aggregated.
RSA is one of the most popular Public Key Cryptography based algorithm mainly used for digital
signatures, encryption/decryption etc. It is based on the mathematical scheme of factorization of very large
integers which is a compute-intensive process and takes very long time as well as power to perform.
Several scientists are working throughout the world to increase the speedup and to decrease the power
consumption of RSA algorithm while keeping the security of the algorithm intact. One popular technique
which can be used to enhance the performance of RSA is parallel programming. In this paper we are
presenting the survey of various parallel implementations of RSA algorithm involving variety of hardware
and software implementations.

PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF PARALLEL IMPLEMENTATION OF ADVANCED ENCRYPTION STANDA...ijistjournal
Cryptography is the study of mathematical techniques related to aspects of information security such as confidentiality, data integrity, entity authentication, and data origin authentication. Most cryptographic algorithms function more efficiently when implemented in hardware than in software running on single processor. However, systems that use hardware implementations have significant drawbacks: they are unable to respond to flaws discovered in the implemented algorithm or to changes in standards. As an alternative, it is possible to implement cryptographic algorithms in software running on multiple processors. However, most of the cryptographic algorithms like DES (Data Encryption Standard) or 3DES have some drawbacks when implemented in software: DES is no longer secure as computers get more powerful while 3DES is relatively sluggish in software. AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), which is rapidly being adopted worldwide, provides a better combination of performance and enhanced network security than DES or 3DES by being computationally more efficient than these earlier standards. Furthermore, by supporting large key sizes of 128, 192, and 256 bits, AES offers higher security against brute-force attacks.
In this paper, AES has been implemented with single processor. Then the result has been compared with parallel implementations of AES with 2 varying different parameters such as key size, number of rounds and extended key size, and show how parallel implementation of the AES offers better performance yet flexible enough for cryptographic algorithms.
Cryptography technology is a security technique used to change plain text to another shape of data or to
symbols, which is known as the cipher text. Cryptography aims to keep the data secure during its journey
through public networks. Currently, there are many proposed algorithms that provide this service
especially for sensitive data or very important conversations either through mobile or video conferences. In
this paper, an inventive security symmetric algorithm is implemented and evaluated, and its performance is
compared to the AES. The algorithm has four different rounds for each quarter of the key container table,
and each of them serves to shift the table. The algorithm uses the XOR operation, which, being lightweight
and cheap, is very appropriate for use with Real Time Applications. The result shows that the suggested
algorithm spends less time than AES although it has 16 rounds and the numbers used to mix up the table
are big.

Analysis of Cryptographic Algorithms for Network SecurityEditor IJCATR
Cryptography plays a major role in securing data. It is used to ensure that the contents of a message are confidentially
transmitted and would not be altered. Network security is most vital component in information security as it refers to all hardware and
software function, characteristics, features, operational procedures, accountability, access control, and administrative and management
policy. Cryptography is central to IT security challenges, since it underpins privacy, confidentiality and identity, which together
provide the fundamentals for trusted e-commerce and secure communication. There is a broad range of cryptographic algorithms that
are used for securing networks and presently continuous researches on the new cryptographic algorithms are going on for evolving
more advanced techniques for secures communication.
Today, the growth of digitalization has made the ease for livelihood for all the organizations. Cloud computing the storage provider for all the computer resources has made it easy for accessing the data from anywhere anytime. But at the same time the security for cloud data storage is the major drawback which is provided by various cryptographic algorithms. These algorithms convert the data into unreadable format, known as cipher text, Rivest, Shamir and Adleman (RSA) one of the most popularly used asymmetric algorithm. This paper gives detailed review about such different cryptographic algorithms used for the cloud data security. The comparison study is also made for the size of data and to analyze the encryption time and decryption time, which concludes that to enhance the cloud data security some addon techniques are to be used along with these cryptographic algorithms. To increase the security level and to increase the transmission speed of plaintext, integrated method will be proposed by encoding the plaintext to intermediate plaintext and then intermediate plaintext will be compressed using any one of the compression techniques to increase the compression ratio, lastly the compressed file is encrypted to further enhance the security level.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
Sachpazis:Terzaghi Bearing Capacity Estimation in simple terms with Calculati...Dr.Costas Sachpazis
Terzaghi's soil bearing capacity theory, developed by Karl Terzaghi, is a fundamental principle in geotechnical engineering used to determine the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. This theory provides a method to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil, which is the maximum load per unit area that the soil can support without undergoing shear failure. The Calculation HTML Code included.
