This document provides a literature review on aluminum-7075 metal matrix composites. It discusses how adding various reinforcements to aluminum-7075 improves its mechanical properties like strength, wear resistance, and fatigue properties. The review summarizes several research papers that studied adding reinforcements like short basalt fibers, titanium diboride particles, mica, and kaolinite particles to aluminum-7075 and measuring the effect on properties like hardness, tensile strength, wear resistance, and impact strength. The literature review found that adding these reinforcements in optimal amounts can significantly improve the mechanical properties of aluminum-7075 metal matrix composites.

for materials selection; it explains the limits of useful applications; it demonstrates the various types of aluminium matrix composites. Knowledge in metallurgy, materials science, materials engineering is assumed.
This work deals with fabricating or producing aluminum based metal matrix composite and then studying its mechanical properties such as tensile strength, hardness and wear behavior of produced test specimen. In this conditions Aluminum Alloy (LM6) –Boron Carbide and graphite metal matrix composite were fabricated by liquid metallurgy technique with different particulate weight fraction ( Gr 2% and B4C 3 %, 5%). Mechanical properties such as hardness test and compression strength are determined and tribological behavior of the composite is studied using wear test. The composite were characterized by Hardness and tensile strength tests. With the increase the amount of boron carbide, the density of the composite decreased whereas the hardness is increased. The tensile strength of the composite was increased with increase in the weight percentage of the boron carbide and Gr in the composite.

Strict requirements that are put on mechanical constructions from the aspect of increase of exploitation periods and reduction of their weights, therefore of their prices as well, implicate developments and applications of new composite materials with matrices of lightweight metals. Composite materials with metal matrices are used for engine cylinders, pistons, disc and drum brakes, Cardan shafts and for other elements in automotive and aviation industry. The most important type of metallic materials is composite materials with matrices of aluminium alloys due to a set of their beneficial properties. Improvement of mechanical, especially tribological properties of hybrid composites were provided by the use of certain reinforce materials such as SiC, Al2O3 and graphite in defined weight or volumetric share. New developed hybrid composites with aluminium matrices have significantly higher resistance to wear, higher specific stiffness and higher resistance to fatigue. By the increase of quantities of produced elements made of hybrid composites, decrease of their prices is induced that even further enlarge their applications. The applications of aluminium hybrid composites are considered from the aspect and with the focus on automotive industry.

There has been an increasing interest in composites containing low density and low cost reinforcements. Among various discontinuous dispersoids used, fly ash is one of the most inexpensive and low density reinforcement available in large quantities as solid waste by-product during combustion of coal in thermal power plants. Hence, composites with fly ash as reinforcement are likely to overcome the cost barrier for wide spread applications in automotive and small engine applications.

In this paper, wear of polycrystalline diamond (PCD) cutting tools and the surface integrity during machining of SiC – Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) is discussed. An attempt is made to establish relation between the hardness of the tool and the flank wear. A newly developed PCD tool, which is superior in hardness with lower flank wear than the conventional tools is introduced. During machining with PCD tools, the severity of transfer material on the tools increased significantly with cutting distance and cutting speed. The superior surface finish obtained with the PCD tools cannot be merely explained by their low wear. The low degree of adhesion that these tools had with the work material appeared to be the main reason for the superior surface obtained at both low and high cutting speeds. At low cutting speed, when the use of coolant resulted in a marked reduction in the amount of work material on the machined work pieces, high Ra and P-V values can be obtained.

Characterization of Graphite and Zirconium Oxide on Al 7075 Metal Matrix Comp...ijtsrd
This work investigates the mechanical properties of Aluminium Metal Matrix Composites reinforced with Zirconium Oxide and Graphite. The composite material has been prepared by Stir casting technique. Al 7075 as matrix metal, Zirconium oxide and graphite as reinforcements. Zirconium Oxide and Graphite both have been mixed in different proportions in the Aluminium Matrix. Both reinforcement constituents were added in different combinations, so as to investigate the effect of each of these two and their individual effects. Density test, Micro hardness test and Compression test were carried out on the developed hybrid composites to study the mechanical properties of composites. Micro structural studies were carried out on Al 7075 and all composites. Samples were prepared and tested as per ASTM standards. Significant improvement in micro hardness and Compressive strength was found with an increase in Zirconium dioxide in weight percentage of composites. Micro structural study reveals the uniform distribution of reinforcements ZrO2 and graphite in as cast and Al 7075 metal matrix composites. Synthesis And Characterization of Aluminum –Silicon-Fly Ash Composite By Stir...IRJESJOURNAL
Abstract :- In this work aluminium 7075 as matrix and silicon carbide and fly ash as reinforcements has been used. The %wt of reinforcement are varied to study the difference in aluminium property. Following are the samples are aluminium 7075 as 100%, aluminium 7075 90% + 10% SiC, and aluminium 7075 90% + 10% fly ash. The materials are obtained by stir casting technique. During casting 300 grams of aluminium has been taken as sample 1. 270grams of aluminium has been taken with 30grams of SiC as sample 2. The third sample is the mixture of 270grams of aluminium with 30grams of fly ash. Then the materials are made in the form of cylindrical rod of 30mm diameter and max length of 70mm. The composites are analysed for the mechanical study and the results are obtained based on hardness and the work has been extended to study the micro structure of the specimen by SEM analysis and Chemical Conformation.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
