• Most commonly understood as the approach to teaching
• Broadly to the theory and practice of education, and how this
influences the growth of learners.
• Pedagogy, taken as an academic discipline, is the study of how
knowledge and skills are exchanged in an educational context.
• It considers the interactions that take place during learning.

• It is a new way of teaching, unlike those commonly used; it is bespoke and surprises
students.
• “Innovative teaching is a proactive approach to integrate new teaching strategies and
methods into a classroom.”
• According to Béchard (2000), pedagogical innovation is, “an intentional action that
aims to introduce something original into a given context, and it is pedagogical as it
seeks to substantially improve student learning in a situation of interaction and
interactivity.”

 Multi-dimensional approach of related to teaching and learning where one
stimulus could be responded in many ways.
If stimulus is many then how one stimulus will be bonded with multifarious
interest of the learners in a particular Teaching- Learning situation.
As a result, some responses are connected well to the particular stimulus
but others are isolated.
Therefore, in these types of connection diversification is very much
significant for the betterment of correlating stimulus in various way.

• To explain Diversification, we can classify diversification of
interest in three categories.

9. 1. Multiplication of Interest
• Interest could be multiplied on the basis of particular interest either in academic
discipline or through non- academic activities.
• Multiplication also could occur horizontally and simultaneously in different branches of
any particular subject or on the basis of different subjects.

10. 2. Substitution of Interest
• Here substitution refers to substitute one interest to another.
It is a spontaneous process. Naturally through substitution
diversification is rather easy to execute.
• As for example a student has interest in science subject
could be diversified in social studies and language through
substitution.

11. 3. Shifting of Interest
• Shifting is important and applicable when substitution is rather difficult.
• If a student is isolated from academic atmosphere and become interested
in non-academic activities. In this regard diversification will be followed
non-academically. In this condition shifting of interest have had an urgent
need for remedial measures.
• Here the non-academic activities could be shifted to academic activities on
the basis of particular effort and that is why teaching-learning system is
very much important for shifting.
