Essay on A Report On Schindlers List
A Report On Schindlers List
Thomas Keneally s Schindler s List is the historical account of Oskar Schindler and his heroic actions
in the midst of the horrors of World War II Poland. Schindler s List recounts the life of Oskar
Schindler, and how he comes to Poland in search of material wealth but leaves having saved the lives
of over 1100 Jews who would most certainly have perished. The novel focuses on how Schindler
comes to the realization that concentration and forced labor camps are wrong, and that many people
were dying through no fault of their own. This realization did not occur overnight, but gradually came
to be as the business man in Oskar Schindler turned into the savior of the Jews that had brought him
so much wealth. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This turns out to be timely for Schindler as now he is able to get very cheap labor. The next few years
would go well for Schindler and his factory for they turned a great profit. In fact he made so much
money that he is quoted as saying, I ve made more money than I could possibly spend in a lifetime. ;
His workers were also very happy. This is because Schindler s Jews ; were treated as humans as
opposed to being treated as animals. For them, working in Schindler s factory was an escape from the
ghetto and from much German cruelty. They loved Schindler so much that his factory became known
as a haven throughout the Jewish community. However, things began to go sour for Schindler, when
the Germans ordered the liquidation of the ghettoes. Soon all of the Jews in the Cracow ghetto were
relocated to the Plaszow labor camp. By this time Schindler had grown so affectionate toward his
Jewish workers that he refused to hire Poles, and instead sought of a way to keep using the Jews that
he had grown so accustomed to. As the Cracow Jews were relocated to the Plaszow labor camp, Oskar
Schindler came into direct dealings with the camp s director, Amon Goeth. He did not like Amon, but
he tried to get in on his best side in order to keep using his Jews in his factory. Amon agreed to let
Schindler use them, and thus saving his Jews from some of the harshness of the Plaszow labor camp.

Analysis Of Mrs. Dalloway
Walt Whitman s poem When I heard the Learn d Astronomer shows a moment which captures the
beauty of self reliance and non conformity. In the poem, the speaker listens to a lecturer who speaks
about astronomy through calculations and measurements. Being sick and tired of the lecture, the
speaker wanders off outside to see the stars for himself and becomes struck in awe of the physical
beauty of the stars. He also regains peace within himself after finding a new outlet for understanding.
This idea of non conformity being a precursor to self actualization and inner peace similarly resonates
in Virginia Woolf s novel Mrs. Dalloway. The portrayal Clarissa Dalloway and Septimus Smith are
both examples in the novel that show the negative consequences of conformity. In the beginning lines
of the poem, the speaker begins to tell an anecdote about a time he heard a learn d astronomer . The
man is perceived to be highly intelligent and specifically invested in the study of astronomy. However,
Whitman contracts the word learned , presenting a plain voice that contrasts to the revered
sophistication of the astronomer (Whitman 1). This ironic use of tone could be used in order to make
fun of the astronomer, despite being a well educated man and a master of astronomy. Continuing on,
the astronomer presents his mathematical proofs , ranged in columns by using figures and the charts
and diagram (2 3). The speaker at this point hears the lecture as a list of random

After comparing the two it is companies, I would recommend that Coca Cola is the better pick as far
as who to invest in if given the opportunity to invest in one or the other. Through analyzing the many
ratios and utilizing the components to accurately rationalize the status of the financial stability of the
two companies Coca Cola has proved to have a higher financial accountability. There are many factors
that brought me to this conclusion. Just look at the statements you can see that Pepsi Co. has more
liabilities than Coca Cola and that would generally be the case since Pepsi Co. has monies invested in
other products and Cola does not have any other involvements in other products.

Relationship between Internet Addiction (Screen Addiction) and eyesight
Ever since Robert E. Kahn and Vint Cerf invented the Internet, it was hard to use and it was
considered a privilege. But after Tim Berners Lee invented World Wide Web and spread out, It catches
on with the trend. In these days, most of the people are using the Internet for web surfing, social
media, etc. Especially, most teenagers have their own smartphone through that they are keeping in
touch with the internet. It is transformed into Internet addiction. Despite they are addicted to the
internet, They can t avulse smartphone from them. Also, when they are using their smartphone before
they sleep, they eyesight become worse and worse. Internet addiction is the main reason to impair
people s vision. First of all, when people use their phone before they sleep, they turn off the light and
they straightly face their smartphone and smartphone emit Blue light. Second, Computer Vision
Syndrome makes people s eyes worse, and they cannot put down their phone even though people
know that is dangerous.
Blue Light is emitted by all electronic devices and people are facing blue light while they are using

Modeling Of Forecasting Inflation On Nepal Essay
CHAPTER FOUR
MODELING OF FORECASTING INFLATION IN NEPAL
4.1Introduction
Inflation is a burning economic problem in the developing countries like Nepal that brings adverse
effects like loss of purchasing power of national currency, leading to the aggravation of social
conditions and living standards. This also leads to uncertainty making domestic and foreign investors
reluctant to invest in the economy. Additionally, inflation broadens the country s terms of trade
causing domestic goods and services more expensive in the market. That is why; the monetary
authority of every economy should have the objective of maintaining stable price.
Inflation forecasting plays a central role in monetary policy formulation. Recent international
empirical evidence suggests that with the decline in inflation of recent years, a fairly widespread
phenomenon, the combined dynamics of this variable and its potential predictors, such as money or
different measures of the output gap, has changed, and inflation has become more unpredictable.
Univariate models tend to show a better forecasting capacity than those based on various inflation
theories, such as the Phillips curve. Traditionally, in industrialized countries the Phillips curve has
played a predominant role in inflation forecasting, and according to Stock and Watson (1999),
Atkenson and Ohanian (2001) and Canova, (2002), it would seem to perform better in terms of
forecasting error than other alternative models. In recent years there have

Essay On Thomas Jefferson A Hypocrite
Is Thomas Jefferson a Hypocrite or Not? After writing the Declaration of Independence, and saying
All men are created equal, Jefferson continued to own slaves of his own. Before, and after writing the
Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson said many cruel and offensive things to describe a
runaway slave. He is greatly addicted to drink, and when drunk is insolent and disorderly. (Slavery, 1)
Following his rude and offensive descriptions, he offered a reward for the one to find the missing
slave. Jefferson is seen to be a big hypocrite to many and in many ways, by the choices he did not take
when he should have. When Jefferson was making the poster that was offering a reward for the
runaway slave, he should have thought it through, and put himself in the slaves spot, before trying to
say malicious and irrelevant things about them. Would Jefferson have wanted to be treated like those
slaves were? Would Jefferson have ran away, if he was that slave? Many thought that Jefferson did not
try to stop slavery, because he might have had sexual intercourse with some of his slaves. Would that
stop you from stopping slavery? But that is not the most valid reason Thomas Jefferson is seen to be a
hypocrite. The most valid reason Jefferson was known as a big hypocrite, is because he wrote the

Tale of Two Coaches

Tale of Two Coaches and Leadership

October 27, 2011
Abstract
Coaching and leadership seem to be synonymous with each other, in that if you re a high caliber coach
you must be a great leader, how else would you have achieved your success. While coaching in the
NCAA division 1 basketball the goal is to win national championships, while also being a mentor to
your students. Bobby Knight is a great basketball legend at Indiana, with a past of outrageous
unacceptable behavior to the fans and to players, while also having one of the best collegiate records
of all time. Coach Krzyzewski was also a great coach, was mentored by coach ... Show more content

(Bob Carter) Integrity is the ability of a leader to live and lead with some principles and take
responsibility for their actions. The ability to possess integrity should build confidence in your team.
Integrity is probably where the two coaches will separate their styles of leadership. Coach Knight
through the years did several things to damage that integrity, through his actions in Panama or ways he
degraded assistant coaches or lecturing teams with the use of props of soiled toilet paper. There were
many times where his actions did not represent the role which he was given and he made little effort to
change unless he was forced. Coach K built much of what he was on his integrity; he stuck up for his
players many times. Once his team was graded by the student paper, it was the fact that the paper
portrayed the players as instruments of entertainment and ego indulgence; this infuriated the coach,
which he later apologized. What Coach K stood for was a caring, communication and trust within the
team, and that was what he wanted for the whole student body, and why his fan base was so strong.
The last important trait style of leadership is the ability for a leader to seek out good pleasant social
relationships. The leader should be thought of as friendly, outgoing, courteous, tactful and diplomatic.
Coach Knight, I believe, started out his career with these traits as

Analysis Of Disney s If Disney Ran Your Hospital Essay
When I just looked at the title of this book If Disney Ran Your Hospital 9 1/2 Things You Would Do
Differently , I was pretty skeptical. No way. A hospital is neither a fun place nor entertainment. We
deal with lives. Responsibility is huge. But, Mr. Fred Lee, the author of this book, was very well
aware of that. He hit every single point I wanted to argue. Going to read the book, a lot of relevant
memories came up in my mind since I had worked for a hospital for a long time. I was convinced that
Disney s approach to quality improvement is applicable to hospital management. Out of 9 1/2 things, I
would like to talk about three actions that left marks on me with my experience: service vs.
experience, rewards to motivate people and closing the gap between knowing and doing.
The emergency department (ED) I worked for was a Level I Trauma Center, so patients were
transferred by ambulances, most of whom were in very severe conditions, such as cardio pulmonary
arrest, unconsciousness and multiple trauma. There was no room for patients to choose a hospital.
Roughly a third of patients coming to the emergency room (ER) died unfortunately. The other third
admitted to the intentional care unit (ICU), and the remains stayed at other wards in the hospital or
went back their home in a few days. In the ICU, the patients were laid on the beds that were lined
toward walls and separated on the side from their next patients with only roll curtains hanging from
the ceiling. Hence, they can

Romanticism In The Devil And Tom Walker
William Shakespeare, one of the most prominent writers in the English language, compared life with
nature through his statement, And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees,
books in the running brooks, sermons in the stones, and good in everything. As Shakespeare brings
forth a parallel between life and the nature world, he uses romanticism characteristics to exemplifies
his purpose. This technique translates to The Devil and Tom Walker by Washington
Irving and The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Romanticism
characteristic are displayed within the previous tittles through awe of nature, and interest in the
common man. To begin, in the short story The Devil and Tom Walker , awe of nature is used to
convey both the mood and meaning of the narrative. Irving creates a setting that is dark in spirt as Tom
Walker makes his way through the woods. In this excerpt, the reader can visualize Walker s
surroundings through the natural pessimistic atmosphere of the woods,
The swamp was thickly grown with great gloomy pines and hemlocks, some of them ninety feet high;
which made it dark at noonday, and a retreat for all the owls of the neighborhood. It was full of pits
and quagmires, partly covered with weeds and mosses; where the green surface often betrayed the
Bakke 2 traveler into a gulf of black smothering mud; there were also dark and stagnant pools, the
abodes of the tadpole, the bull frog, and the water snake, and where trunks of pines and hemlocks lay
half drowned, half rotting, looking like alligators, sleeping in the mire. (Irving 2)
In this passage, nature is portrayed as ominous and foreboding. There is a slight hint of death within
the abeyance of the forest. This is shown by the half drowned and half rotting trees. This creates a
complex connection between Walker and his surroundings. The intertwine of corruption and
immorality is shown through the vile aspects of the various pants and animals that live within the
woods. As Walker trudges along, the ongoing wicked display of the forest pushes the reader s
emotions into an unsettling state. Intern, foreshadowing Walker s sinful decisions when he encounters
a forbidding force, the devil. Thus,

Short Essay On William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare Have you ever watched the movie Romeo and Juliet. Said that you were in a
pickle, or that you were in a wild goose chase ? If so, you are quoting Shakespeare. Shakespeare made
up words, and used words from the speech of Elizabethan England. Then, he took these words and put
them into writing. This influenced the English language, which is why we say these sayings today. He
is considered the greatest writer in the English language and playwright of all time. Shakespeare was
also part of a good family. (Applebee,983) Shakespeare was born in Stratford upon Avon, right outside
of London. He was baptized there in 1564, the same year in which he was born. He was three of eight
children, but three of his siblings died when they were still young. There is no record of Shakespeare
ever going to school for any education. His father was a hardworking man to stay out of debt. But to
have more money and a better social status he married Shakespeare s mother, Mary Arden. His mother
was the daughter of a wealthy landowner. Both of his parents were practicing Catholics when it was
established. It was not accepted by many people during this time. When he got older he fell in love at
a young age.(History,2018) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that Shakespeare and Anne lived apart when he went into his writing and theater career in London. It
was not until the end of his life when the two started to live together again. Shakespeare also
disappeared the same year his twins were baptised, in 1585. He was gone until 1592, when Robert
Greene denounced his name in a pamphlet. Then, after his seven years of being lost , he began
working as an actor and playwright.

Honey Bees Pollinates Bees
Save the Bees
Bees are profound contributers to the ecosystem, but their population size is decreasing tremendously.
Without them, key factors to everyday life will be negatively affected. The honey bees pollinates
flowers. Pollination is when pollen is transferred to a flower s reproductive organs and enables it to
fertilize. When fruits and vegetables are growing, they start of as small flowers on the plant,
eventually becoming whatever food they are. Pollination is how the flowers are able to grow into the
fruit or vegetable. The natural, and best way, a plant gets pollinated is through bees.
Admittedly, some may argue that honey bees are not a necessity because there are alternate ways to
pollinate crops. For example, other insects such as butterflies, beetles, flies, and wasps are able to
pollinate (Gordon). Looking at this point of view, it may seem that bees would not be necessary for
pollination. Bees are not the only pollinating animal, so there should be no need to protect them.
These insects do not pollinate the same way as bees, so how do they do it? Active insects get covered
in pollen when visiting flowers, which then rubs off onto the next flower visited (Gordon). Bees do
essentially the same thing, except they do it purposely, making it the process more effective. In
summation, because there are other insects that have the ability to pollinate, opposers of saving the
honey bees think that it is unnecessary to aid them in survival. Bees however,

The cold, harsh winter in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania dejects the soldiers who continue to starve,

Congress in 1775. His soldiers have been struggling day and night to fight for their independence and
freedom. However, Washington s troops were forced to retreat to Pennsylvania by the British army,

the soldiers will not be capable of facing the British army. Therefore, their energy will soon run out

Southern Appalachian Culture
When one thinks of the Appalachians, one generally thinks of the mountains of the southeastern
region of the United States. However the Mountain range itself actually begins in the Canadian
province of Newfoundland and Labrador, extending from there for almost 2,000 miles (3,200 km) to
central Alabama in the United States. Thus the region also forms the eastern counterpart of the
Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Southern Appalachia alone includes three hundred counties covering most of West Virginia and the
Southern Highlands or Upland South. The mountains form a natural barrier between the eastern
Coastal Plain and the vast Interior Lowlands of North America. As a result, they have played a vital
role in the settlement and development of the entire continent.
Despite the vast geographical distance, the peoples of the Appalachians (state side) maintain a unified
identity through shared cultural identities; dialect, building practices, folk music and dance, crafts,
superstitions and religion, and moonshine unite all 1500 miles of these mountains. The inhabitants of
this region largely descended from English and Scottish Irish folk traditions, brought to the region by

Let s take a look at the conversation below between a mother and her son to illustrate the impact of

Mother: Never mind, I ll ask your sister. Her son gave the correct answer to her question, but she
thought that he didn t know the answer and wanted to ask his sister instead. This is an example of an
abbreviation that might lead to confusion and misunderstanding in our conversations. Tweeters and
texters try to refine sentences into a few characters, and this results in excessive use of abbreviations
which makes it inevitable to miss some important information. Using initials of a word or totally
different characters to form a shorthand acronym is unreliable and confusing. David Crystal wrote in
his article that No texter is entirely consistent and no two texters use identical conventions (245).
Someone who text CYA (see you) in a text message will most likely pronounce it the same way as his

The course readings have been an insightful and thought provoking look into evolutionary psychology

nothing but social constructs. Evolutionary psychology and genetics are both fascinating and in this
respect I found Adam s Curse: A Future Without Men by Bryan Sykes and The Moral Animal by
Robert Wright the most influential and thought provoking. The illusionary nature of social constructs
and the misleading messages they give us about gender roles was also beautifully illustrated in Pink

The readings, especially Sapolsky s essays in The Trouble with Testosterone, showed me that this link
may not necessarily exist. In other words, our gender specific behavior is not hormonally derived,
such as male aggression being assumed to be an effect of high testosterone. This classic nature versus
nurture problem came up in other course readings but Sapolsky s witty, accessible, clear writing style
likely had much to do with making it all stick in my thoughts. It made me ponder how much of our
behavior is really biologically programmed and how much of it is a product, instead, of social
programming deliberate or otherwise. The arguments set forth in Pink Brain Blue Brain took Sapolsky
s restrained observations further, suggesting that small genetic differences between the sexes grow
larger and larger with maturity due to social conditioning. On the other hand, Eliot argues, wouldn t it
be better if boys were able to freely acquire beneficial feminine traits such as nurturing qualities, and
girls could freely acquire beneficial masculine traits such as being adept at mathematics or to speak
bluntly and directly. However, she stops short of condemning all differences between the sexes and I
think that was a good decision on her part because, as The Moral Animal

important part of the novel but once we meet Jay Gatsby that changes. Nick takes a back seat to be the
narrator for Gatsby s story. As a narrator Nick is the most effective choice for The Great Gatsby. This
is proven by his willingness to withhold judgment. his relationship to each of the main characters.his
outsider status and perceptiveness. In my younger and more vulnerable, years my father gave me some
advice that I ve been turning over in my mind ever since. Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone,
he told me, just remember that all the people in this world haven t had the advantages that you ve had.
In consequence, I m inclined ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Nick is in the apartment with Tom, at the same time he imagines himself standing on the street
looking at the apartment above in wonder as to what it is like to be involved in one of those parties.
Even though he is now inside one of the parties that others may dream about, Nick still feels as if he is
not really one of them. He feels like this throughout the novel, he has rich friends and he goes to
luxurious parties but he never feels like he belongs and he is never treated like he belongs. This
outsider status helps him be a great narrator because it helps him give the reader the insider experience
but also helps keep their distance and not get too attached to that world. If Nick were an insider the
reader would not be shown a fair view of Gatsby s story. The reader would only see the East Egg side
and never explore the West Egg side of life. Having Nick as both within and without gives the
advantage of introducing the reader to certain aspects of New York s elite world, while also being
shocked and skeptical of them as an outsider would

Film Study
Children of Men (2006), directed by Alfonso Cuarón, is a science fiction thriller about humankind
facing extinction due to infertility, set in a dystopian society. The protagonist of the film, Theo Faron,
is a former political activist who becomes the unexpected caretaker to Kee, who is a young African
refugee woman whose journey commences when she miraculously becomes pregnant. They both
become a part of a dangerous journey, where he ensured to safely send Kee and her baby to the
Human Project, where they will receive sufficient care needed and therefore, restore faith for a future.
Throughout Kee s character development, she conveys themes of hope and courage. The film
implements excellent cinematography and stylistic conventions, including mis en scene, mis en shot
and sound, which had a significant impact on the audience.

As evident in image 1, Kee reveals her pregnancy which changes her from being an ordinary woman
to an extremely significant character as she carries the future of the whole human race in her, therefore
her child becomes the hope for all humanity. Courage is significantly portrayed by Kee as her survival
with the baby was extremely vital which was only possible through faith. As seen in image 2, it is
revealed that throughout her journey with Theo to reach the Human Project, they faced many
difficulties, especially escaping from the Fishes. This would allow the audience to witness her
persistence and her brave and courageous attitude even though she was petrified. In a miserable and
hopeless world, Kee and her baby are also excellent examples of symbolism, including youth,
positivity and life, therefore leading towards a change. This would make the audience realise the baby
s symbolic importance and comprehend Kee s situation to protect her and safely reach the Human

Act 1 as an Effective Opening to Hamlet by William Shakespeare
The play Hamlet is a dramatic love story written by William Shakespeare. It is set in the late sixteenth
century. Most scenes take place in the grounds of the Danish castle at Elsinore. The play has many
characters, and the main ones are members of the royal family or were close to them. It is a very long,
complicated story that twists into a tragic end.
The main characters are Hamlet, Gertrude, Claudius, King Hamlet, Polonious and his two children,
Laertes and Ophelia. In this essay I will be analyzing and discussing the opening scenes of Hamlet and
the use of dramatic effects and techniques. The main themes I will be looking for ... Show more

There were three thoughts of ghost in Elizabethan England; Catholics believed ghost went to heaven,
hell or purgatory. They believed ghosts could be seen. Protestants believed ghost went to hell and
heaven, but the majority was sent to hell. They were seen as evil and vile. Sceptics had to see a ghost
to believe it was there. Horatio was sceptic, as he asked to see the ghost that the guards claimed to
have seen. The ghost appears in the scene as the guards are talking Peace, break thee off. Look where
it comes again! The ghost is that of King Hamlet In the same figure like the king that s dead. The
ghost will not speak to them, suggesting to the audience that it is a sign of more things to come. The
ghost leaves, and the guards promise to tell Prince Hamlet of what they saw let us impart what we
have seen tonight unto young Hamlet. Shakespeare writes the play in such a way that he brings fear
into the audience. He surprises both the audience and the characters in the play, creating a hugely
effective atmosphere of anxiety and fear throughout the scene. The scene sets out an important
supernatural theme for the audience to create an air of expectancy and tension.
Scene two is set with a party in the royal hall celebrating the marriage of Claudius and Gertrude, as
well as paying respects to the death of his brother Hamlet

Why Did Suzanne Lenglen Breaks Wimbledon Record
Suzanne Lenglen Breaks Wimbledon Record (1925)
There are moments in time that people remember, but there are also moments that people forget. One
of these moments is when Suzanne Rachel Flore Lenglen won the 31 Championship in 1914 1926 or
when she broke the Wimbledon Record in 1925. She was the first female tennis celebrity and one of
the first international female sport stars. She was named La Divine by the French. She is by far one of
the best in history to play female tennis. She has 241 titles, a 181 match winning streak, and a 341 7
match record. This would be hard to achieve in today s tennis atmosphere.
During this period, Lenglen only defeat in singles occurred in an unscheduled appearance at the 1921
US Championships. She went

The Day Of Amelia Dubrinsky
The afternoon sun trickled through the forest, glimpses of golden hue bore down over the sheltered
landscape. It seemed like a beautiful day so far, the birds were singing and the sun was shining. It was
just a shame that one of the more beautiful days had to be this very day, of all days. It wasn t exactly
the worst day of her life, well, not yet at least. But it wouldn t be making the highlight reel either.
Today was the very day Amelia Dubrinsky was set to marry an Alpha of a fellow royal line. There
were four royal packs left; it was a more definitive name for original bloodlines. They came from
vastly different areas, and more importantly, had very varying talents.
For many years now the packs had been in a state of war. Several ... Show more content on

If she had the selfish tendency her brothers had, she d have run the moment she woke up.
The twenty six year old rose, making her way through the hand made wooden home. Everything in
their land was made by their own hands. Sure, there had been some advances with plumbing but it
remained a tradition and a privilege to make their own homes. It was as if someone could feel the love
each family had put into making their home. We still have several hours. Amelia noted as she leaned
on the wooden door frame, her gaze swooping over the warmly lit bedroom. In the left hand side of
the room her dress hung on a stump that was supported by a metal rod that spanned out toward the
floor.
She d never considered love, or marrying really. She d spent most of her life training with her
brothers, there wasn t much that she thought of that she could define as a young woman s dream. All
that really mattered in her mind was her home and their safety, it was the only reason she was stepping
up to take a stranger s hand in marriage.
Amelia, it s going to take a few hours. Her mother cautioned, pointing her eloquently painted nail
toward the wooden stool before her. With a defiant groan, Amelia made her way into the room. Alise
carefully unhooked the dress from the stand and made her way toward her daughter. It had been made
by Amelia s aunt, in the traditional fashion of past wedding dresses. The blonde slowly slipped into
the silk like material. The dress fit

How Did Joseph Rotblat Cause Mass Destruction
Joseph Rotblat was a polish physicist that helped create the first atomic bomb in the 1940s. The first
test explosion of a hydrogen bomb was done by the USA in 1952, the year that Britain exploded its
first test atomic bomb. The Soviet Union exploded its first hydrogen bomb in 1953. In the 1950s by
the end of world war â…¡ the united states decided to launch the atomic bomb in Hiroshima, Nagasaki.
Joseph Rotblat then devoted his life on the banning the usage of nuclear weapons and testing. Rotblat
does this by joining groups like the pugwash conference on science and world affairs and also having
a part in the Russell einstein manifesto. Rotblat did this because he did not want his own work to
cause mass destruction but to help create peace.

Greek vs. Roman Theatre Essay
Historic playwrights such as Sophocles, Euripides, Aeschylus, and Seneca were described as prolific
philosophers and geniuses of their times. These men actively participated in the politics surrounding
them, and were respected and revered in their society. Each had their own individual style and
portrayed their personalities through each of their noted works. Nevertheless, as with a majority of
playwrights throughout history, most fodder for their plays have been adaptations of previous plays
written by their predecessors or based off mythological events. Unfortunately, this had lead to many
speculative accusations and criticisms, as is the case with Senecan tragedies versus their Greek
counterparts. Senecan and Greek interpretations of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, while the Greeks put on masks to create new forms of life, Romans put on masks to
resurrect a dead being (Wiles 129). Professional actors received training in life to imitate these dead
beings, a reason as to why Seneca disliked the premise of an actor playing multiple roles because
actors specialized in one character (Wiles 130). These masks veered away from neutrality to more
stock characteristics, much like commedia dell arte, and remained as such for recorded history, and
because there is records of Seneca performing his work, there is no proof that he used different masks.
A final cultural difference is the importance of the chorus and its use in the plays Agamemnon,
Oedipus, and Medea. The chorus was not highly involved in the action of the plays. In general, the
chorus main functions were to create a psychological and emotional background to the action through
its odes. It introduces and questions new characters, as well as point out the importance of events as
they occurred, to establish facts and avow the outlook of society. Finally, the chorus covers the
passage of time, between events, and separates episodes (Calder 21). Within the play Agamemnon, by
Aeschylus, the chorus represents the voice of wisdom of the city as well as its limitations
(Novelguide). The chorus limitations are clear when they fail to

Benefits Of Minimum Wage
Minimum wage is a struggle for many Americans and I believe it needs to be raised. The minimum
wage of the United States is $7.25 an hour. It is a rate that isn t letting many Americans live life
comfortably. If the minimum wage was changed even a merely $3.75 it would change people s lives
and will let many people get by. The minimum wage of $7.25 has stayed the same since 2009 and
there hasn t been any effort by the government to change it. Many states have increased their
minimum wage, but I hope that the minimum wage rises nationwide and not individually as states.
One of the many groups of people that struggle on minimum wage are college students. Many people
avoid going to college because their minimum wage job will not allow them ... Show more content on

Another reason why the minimum wage needs to be increased because of single parents or even
families in general. Many single parents or families rely on the minimum wage to live day by day.
Although some may say that living alone with a child doesn t cost much, but I disagree. Having a
child cost a lot of money. These parents often do not raise their children because they must dedicate
their life to working most of the hours of the week and must leave their children in a daycare or in the
home of a close family relative. In between buying necessities for the child and having to raise them,
they have to work long hours of the week because the minimum wage is too low to allow them to take
a break. This is something that effects millions of families in the United States. Gould, senior
economist at EPI tells NBC News, Even in Tennessee, a state with some of the most affordable cities
in the country, minimum wage workers cannot cover the cost of basic necessities such as housing,
food and other expenses. Families should also have the opportunity to thrive off the minimum wage.
Furthermore people cannot pay the bills and take care of themselves on minimum wage. Minimum
wage often cannot pay adult bills. Although in the past the minimum wage was way below what is it
today, consumer prices have increased a total of 482%. Even college tuition has gone up 994% in
pricing than in 1970, and that s only

The Government Intervention And Its Effect On National...
I. Introduction
Never before has there been one single element that has the capacity to affect everything we do today.
From the privacy of your home to the office you occupy daily or from how services such as gas and
water are delivered to us. What began with the Industrial Revolution has now progressed into what is
now the Digital Revolution.
Cybersecurity is one of many important elements when it comes to information security and how to
protect it. From the laws and regulations to who is ultimately responsible and the one to assume
responsibility when breaches take place. Whether it is the government or the private sector, someone
has to take charge because we all have a vested interest in protecting our families, our businesses and
our nation s security in cyberspace.
In this paper I researched into what government intervention is in the works when it comes to
cybersecurity and protecting national security, the responsibility of the private sector as it pertains to
the protection of critical infrastructure in the support of national security, and a past reflection on
successful cyberattacks that stress the point that continued partnerships are required to be successful.
II. Governing Cybersecurity
The government when required have to make the tough decisions to pass the right legislation along
and regulations in the best interest of the safety and security of the nation. Unfortunately today the
political stage is polarized and when there should be bipartisanship to

Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet
It is very common for human to confuse infatuation with true love. According to the Triangular
Theory of Love by Robert J. Sternberg love is composed of three main parts. These parts are intimacy,
passion, and commitment. Intimacy is distinguished by concern, understanding, and closeness
between two partners. Intimacy usually takes a long time to build up and is something that can t be
generated in a few days. Passion is portrayed as the desire to be with one s partner. Passion tends to
build up quickly but vanishes rapidly as well. Finally commitment is described as the willingness to
endure a long lasting relationship. With these three parts can true love only be formed. Infatuation
usually consists of passion alone. In the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet the main ... Show more content

Passion is the fierce inclination to be in someone s presence. Having passion is similar to an addiction.
In a beginning of a relationship there is a high level of passion but fades as time progresses.
Eventually the high of the relationship becomes less and less rewarding. This passion can be seen the
when Romeo has to leave Juliet after concealing the marriage. At first Romeo tries to leave as quickly
as possible. He says I must be gone and live, or stay and die (3.5.11). However since Romeo has so
much passion for Juliet he is convinced by Juliet stay even though he would be killed by the Capulet s
kinsman. He says Come, death, and welcome! Juliet wills it so./ How is t, my soul? Let s talk. It is not
day (3.3.24 25). Another example of the passion both Romeo and Juliet share is when they both are
able to overcome the feud between the Capulet and Montague households. This feud between the
Capulet and Montague household has been going on for generations but because Romeo and Juliet has
so much passion for each other they are able to overlook the fact that they are from rivalling

  • 2. Essay on A Report On Schindlers List A Report On Schindlers List Thomas Keneally s Schindler s List is the historical account of Oskar Schindler and his heroic actions in the midst of the horrors of World War II Poland. Schindler s List recounts the life of Oskar Schindler, and how he comes to Poland in search of material wealth but leaves having saved the lives of over 1100 Jews who would most certainly have perished. The novel focuses on how Schindler comes to the realization that concentration and forced labor camps are wrong, and that many people were dying through no fault of their own. This realization did not occur overnight, but gradually came to be as the business man in Oskar Schindler turned into the savior of the Jews that had brought him so much wealth. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This turns out to be timely for Schindler as now he is able to get very cheap labor. The next few years would go well for Schindler and his factory for they turned a great profit. In fact he made so much money that he is quoted as saying, I ve made more money than I could possibly spend in a lifetime. ; His workers were also very happy. This is because Schindler s Jews ; were treated as humans as opposed to being treated as animals. For them, working in Schindler s factory was an escape from the ghetto and from much German cruelty. They loved Schindler so much that his factory became known as a haven throughout the Jewish community. However, things began to go sour for Schindler, when the Germans ordered the liquidation of the ghettoes. Soon all of the Jews in the Cracow ghetto were relocated to the Plaszow labor camp. By this time Schindler had grown so affectionate toward his Jewish workers that he refused to hire Poles, and instead sought of a way to keep using the Jews that he had grown so accustomed to. As the Cracow Jews were relocated to the Plaszow labor camp, Oskar Schindler came into direct dealings with the camp s director, Amon Goeth. He did not like Amon, but he tried to get in on his best side in order to keep using his Jews in his factory. Amon agreed to let Schindler use them, and thus saving his Jews from some of the harshness of the Plaszow labor camp. As the war began to go ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis Of Mrs. Dalloway Walt Whitman s poem When I heard the Learn d Astronomer shows a moment which captures the beauty of self reliance and non conformity. In the poem, the speaker listens to a lecturer who speaks about astronomy through calculations and measurements. Being sick and tired of the lecture, the speaker wanders off outside to see the stars for himself and becomes struck in awe of the physical beauty of the stars. He also regains peace within himself after finding a new outlet for understanding. This idea of non conformity being a precursor to self actualization and inner peace similarly resonates in Virginia Woolf s novel Mrs. Dalloway. The portrayal Clarissa Dalloway and Septimus Smith are both examples in the novel that show the negative consequences of conformity. In the beginning lines of the poem, the speaker begins to tell an anecdote about a time he heard a learn d astronomer . The man is perceived to be highly intelligent and specifically invested in the study of astronomy. However, Whitman contracts the word learned , presenting a plain voice that contrasts to the revered sophistication of the astronomer (Whitman 1). This ironic use of tone could be used in order to make fun of the astronomer, despite being a well educated man and a master of astronomy. Continuing on, the astronomer presents his mathematical proofs , ranged in columns by using figures and the charts and diagram (2 3). The speaker at this point hears the lecture as a list of random ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After comparing the two it is companies, I would recommend that Coca Cola is the better pick as far as who to invest in if given the opportunity to invest in one or the other. Through analyzing the many ratios and utilizing the components to accurately rationalize the status of the financial stability of the two companies Coca Cola has proved to have a higher financial accountability. There are many factors that brought me to this conclusion. Just look at the statements you can see that Pepsi Co. has more liabilities than Coca Cola and that would generally be the case since Pepsi Co. has monies invested in other products and Cola does not have any other involvements in other products. • 7. Modeling Of Forecasting Inflation On Nepal Essay CHAPTER FOUR MODELING OF FORECASTING INFLATION IN NEPAL 4.1Introduction Inflation is a burning economic problem in the developing countries like Nepal that brings adverse effects like loss of purchasing power of national currency, leading to the aggravation of social conditions and living standards. This also leads to uncertainty making domestic and foreign investors reluctant to invest in the economy. Additionally, inflation broadens the country s terms of trade causing domestic goods and services more expensive in the market. That is why; the monetary authority of every economy should have the objective of maintaining stable price. Inflation forecasting plays a central role in monetary policy formulation. Recent international empirical evidence suggests that with the decline in inflation of recent years, a fairly widespread phenomenon, the combined dynamics of this variable and its potential predictors, such as money or different measures of the output gap, has changed, and inflation has become more unpredictable. Univariate models tend to show a better forecasting capacity than those based on various inflation theories, such as the Phillips curve. Traditionally, in industrialized countries the Phillips curve has played a predominant role in inflation forecasting, and according to Stock and Watson (1999), Atkenson and Ohanian (2001) and Canova, (2002), it would seem to perform better in terms of forecasting error than other alternative models. • 8. Essay On Thomas Jefferson A Hypocrite Is Thomas Jefferson a Hypocrite or Not? After writing the Declaration of Independence, and saying All men are created equal, Jefferson continued to own slaves of his own. Before, and after writing the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson said many cruel and offensive things to describe a runaway slave. He is greatly addicted to drink, and when drunk is insolent and disorderly. (Slavery, 1) Following his rude and offensive descriptions, he offered a reward for the one to find the missing slave. Jefferson is seen to be a big hypocrite to many and in many ways, by the choices he did not take when he should have. When Jefferson was making the poster that was offering a reward for the runaway slave, he should have thought it through, and put himself in the slaves spot, before trying to say malicious and irrelevant things about them. Would Jefferson have wanted to be treated like those slaves were? Would Jefferson have ran away, if he was that slave? Many thought that Jefferson did not try to stop slavery, because he might have had sexual intercourse with some of his slaves. Would that stop you from stopping slavery? But that is not the most valid reason Thomas Jefferson is seen to be a hypocrite. The most valid reason Jefferson was known as a big hypocrite, is because he wrote the Declaration of ... • 9. Tale of Two Coaches Running Head: Tale of Two Coaches and Leadership Tale of Two Coaches and Leadership Randal J. Reutzel Grand Canyon University: LDR 600 October 27, 2011 Abstract Coaching and leadership seem to be synonymous with each other, in that if you re a high caliber coach you must be a great leader, how else would you have achieved your success. While coaching in the NCAA division 1 basketball the goal is to win national championships, while also being a mentor to your students. Bobby Knight is a great basketball legend at Indiana, with a past of outrageous unacceptable behavior to the fans and to players, while also having one of the best collegiate records of all time. Coach Krzyzewski was also a great coach, was mentored by coach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Bob Carter) Integrity is the ability of a leader to live and lead with some principles and take responsibility for their actions. The ability to possess integrity should build confidence in your team. Integrity is probably where the two coaches will separate their styles of leadership. Coach Knight through the years did several things to damage that integrity, through his actions in Panama or ways he degraded assistant coaches or lecturing teams with the use of props of soiled toilet paper. There were many times where his actions did not represent the role which he was given and he made little effort to change unless he was forced. Coach K built much of what he was on his integrity; he stuck up for his players many times. Once his team was graded by the student paper, it was the fact that the paper portrayed the players as instruments of entertainment and ego indulgence; this infuriated the coach, which he later apologized. What Coach K stood for was a caring, communication and trust within the team, and that was what he wanted for the whole student body, and why his fan base was so strong. The last important trait style of leadership is the ability for a leader to seek out good pleasant social relationships. The leader should be thought of as friendly, outgoing, courteous, tactful and diplomatic. Coach Knight, I believe, started out his career with these traits as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Analysis Of Disney s If Disney Ran Your Hospital Essay When I just looked at the title of this book If Disney Ran Your Hospital 9 1/2 Things You Would Do Differently , I was pretty skeptical. No way. A hospital is neither a fun place nor entertainment. We deal with lives. Responsibility is huge. But, Mr. Fred Lee, the author of this book, was very well aware of that. He hit every single point I wanted to argue. Going to read the book, a lot of relevant memories came up in my mind since I had worked for a hospital for a long time. I was convinced that Disney s approach to quality improvement is applicable to hospital management. Out of 9 1/2 things, I would like to talk about three actions that left marks on me with my experience: service vs. experience, rewards to motivate people and closing the gap between knowing and doing. The emergency department (ED) I worked for was a Level I Trauma Center, so patients were transferred by ambulances, most of whom were in very severe conditions, such as cardio pulmonary arrest, unconsciousness and multiple trauma. There was no room for patients to choose a hospital. Roughly a third of patients coming to the emergency room (ER) died unfortunately. The other third admitted to the intentional care unit (ICU), and the remains stayed at other wards in the hospital or went back their home in a few days. In the ICU, the patients were laid on the beds that were lined toward walls and separated on the side from their next patients with only roll curtains hanging from the ceiling. Hence, they can ... • 12. Romanticism In The Devil And Tom Walker William Shakespeare, one of the most prominent writers in the English language, compared life with nature through his statement, And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in the stones, and good in everything. As Shakespeare brings forth a parallel between life and the nature world, he uses romanticism characteristics to exemplifies his purpose. This technique translates to The Devil and Tom Walker by Washington Irving and The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Romanticism characteristic are displayed within the previous tittles through awe of nature, and interest in the common man. To begin, in the short story The Devil and Tom Walker , awe of nature is used to convey both the mood and meaning of the narrative. Irving creates a setting that is dark in spirt as Tom Walker makes his way through the woods. In this excerpt, the reader can visualize Walker s surroundings through the natural pessimistic atmosphere of the woods, The swamp was thickly grown with great gloomy pines and hemlocks, some of them ninety feet high; which made it dark at noonday, and a retreat for all the owls of the neighborhood. It was full of pits and quagmires, partly covered with weeds and mosses; where the green surface often betrayed the Bakke 2 traveler into a gulf of black smothering mud; there were also dark and stagnant pools, the abodes of the tadpole, the bull frog, and the water snake, and where trunks of pines and hemlocks lay half drowned, half rotting, looking like alligators, sleeping in the mire. (Irving 2) In this passage, nature is portrayed as ominous and foreboding. There is a slight hint of death within the abeyance of the forest. This is shown by the half drowned and half rotting trees. This creates a complex connection between Walker and his surroundings. The intertwine of corruption and immorality is shown through the vile aspects of the various pants and animals that live within the woods. As Walker trudges along, the ongoing wicked display of the forest pushes the reader s emotions into an unsettling state. • 14. Short Essay On William Shakespeare William Shakespeare Have you ever watched the movie Romeo and Juliet. Said that you were in a pickle, or that you were in a wild goose chase ? If so, you are quoting Shakespeare. Shakespeare made up words, and used words from the speech of Elizabethan England. Then, he took these words and put them into writing. This influenced the English language, which is why we say these sayings today. He is considered the greatest writer in the English language and playwright of all time. Shakespeare was also part of a good family. (Applebee,983) Shakespeare was born in Stratford upon Avon, right outside of London. He was baptized there in 1564, the same year in which he was born. He was three of eight children, but three of his siblings died when they were still young. There is no record of Shakespeare ever going to school for any education. His father was a hardworking man to stay out of debt. But to have more money and a better social status he married Shakespeare s mother, Mary Arden. • 15. Honey Bees Pollinates Bees Save the Bees Bees are profound contributers to the ecosystem, but their population size is decreasing tremendously. Without them, key factors to everyday life will be negatively affected. The honey bees pollinates flowers. Pollination is when pollen is transferred to a flower s reproductive organs and enables it to fertilize. When fruits and vegetables are growing, they start of as small flowers on the plant, eventually becoming whatever food they are. Pollination is how the flowers are able to grow into the fruit or vegetable. The natural, and best way, a plant gets pollinated is through bees. Admittedly, some may argue that honey bees are not a necessity because there are alternate ways to pollinate crops. For example, other insects such as butterflies, beetles, flies, and wasps are able to pollinate (Gordon). Looking at this point of view, it may seem that bees would not be necessary for pollination. Bees are not the only pollinating animal, so there should be no need to protect them. These insects do not pollinate the same way as bees, so how do they do it? Active insects get covered in pollen when visiting flowers, which then rubs off onto the next flower visited (Gordon). Bees do essentially the same thing, except they do it purposely, making it the process more effective. In summation, because there are other insects that have the ability to pollinate, opposers of saving the honey bees think that it is unnecessary to aid them in survival. Bees however, ... The Continental Army doesn t even know whether they will survive due to these bad conditions, and most of the soldiers start to lose their hope, strength, and willingness. It all started when George Washington was granted the general of the American army by the Continental Congress in 1775. His soldiers have been struggling day and night to fight for their independence and freedom. However, Washington s troops were forced to retreat to Pennsylvania by the British army, and are now stuck in the winter camp at Valley Forge. This also means that they soldiers probably starved during their miserable time at Valley Forge. This is significant because without meat, the soldiers will not be capable of facing the British army. However the Mountain range itself actually begins in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, extending from there for almost 2,000 miles (3,200 km) to central Alabama in the United States. Thus the region also forms the eastern counterpart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Southern Appalachia alone includes three hundred counties covering most of West Virginia and the Southern Highlands or Upland South. The mountains form a natural barrier between the eastern Coastal Plain and the vast Interior Lowlands of North America. As a result, they have played a vital role in the settlement and development of the entire continent. Despite the vast geographical distance, the peoples of the Appalachians (state side) maintain a unified identity through shared cultural identities; dialect, building practices, folk music and dance, crafts, superstitions and religion, and moonshine unite all 1500 miles of these mountains. This classic nature versus nurture problem came up in other course readings but Sapolsky s witty, accessible, clear writing style likely had much to do with making it all stick in my thoughts. It made me ponder how much of our behavior is really biologically programmed and how much of it is a product, instead, of social programming deliberate or otherwise. The arguments set forth in Pink Brain Blue Brain took Sapolsky s restrained observations further, suggesting that small genetic differences between the sexes grow larger and larger with maturity due to social conditioning. On the other hand, Eliot argues, wouldn t it be better if boys were able to freely acquire beneficial feminine traits such as nurturing qualities, and girls could freely acquire beneficial masculine traits such as being adept at mathematics or to speak bluntly and directly. Professional actors received training in life to imitate these dead beings, a reason as to why Seneca disliked the premise of an actor playing multiple roles because actors specialized in one character (Wiles 130). These masks veered away from neutrality to more stock characteristics, much like commedia dell arte, and remained as such for recorded history, and because there is records of Seneca performing his work, there is no proof that he used different masks. A final cultural difference is the importance of the chorus and its use in the plays Agamemnon, Oedipus, and Medea. The chorus was not highly involved in the action of the plays. In general, the chorus main functions were to create a psychological and emotional background to the action through its odes. It introduces and questions new characters, as well as point out the importance of events as they occurred, to establish facts and avow the outlook of society. Finally, the chorus covers the passage of time, between events, and separates episodes (Calder 21).
