3. Impact Of Globalization On A Country s Economy
When we think of a country s economy the first thing that comes to mind is how successful a
country is, and how successful a country is determines its status as a global power. One of the
tools used to measure a country s economy is call Gross Domestic Product (GDP). GDP can be
defined as the value all the goods and services produced within a country within a given period of
times, such as a financial quarter or a year. Over the years we have seen an increase in globalization,
which is the integration between companies and governments of different countries, which has lead
to an increased international trade. As a result of globalization countries can produce more because
they are more markets for their products, which in returns adds to GDP. One of the engines of
globalization is the transportation and logistics industry, and this industry is considered an engine
because without the industry globalization would not be possible. Today with globalization
companies can set up factories in low income countries across the world like China and India, and
sell the their finish product in the united states making huge profits. Maximizing the profits of
companies depends on good transportation and logistics management, because when these products
are finish they have to be transported to the United States. Goods can be transported in many
different modes of transportation, the most popular mode for international trade are ships, because
they are more economical, but airplanes,

4. Grigori Rasputin s Influence On Russia
Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin, Russia s greatest man in the Early 1900 s. He accomplished many
things in his lifetime, including a good relation with the king of Russia. For this research paper,
we will be going over these topics: his early life, his relations with the Czar of Russia and his
death and afterlife. He was, in short, an astounding man to all. His beginning was like no other.
Grigori Rasputinwas born on January 10th, 1869 in Pokrovskoye, Russiawith his father, Efim
Rasputin. His village, being in the middle of almost nowhere and around 1650 miles to the
capital of Russia at the time of his birth, had little education. What was there was poor and untrue
to certain standards, so he never learned to properly read and write on his own. His brother, who
is only known by Grigori s journals, had died in a cold river around 1877. After these events,
Rasputin became very withdrawn. Some say that this time is when he started to develop his

new years party, Rasputin gladly attended it. However, he and Felix would be the only ones

had traces of cyanide, a chemical strong enough to kill a man five times over. However, the
poison never kicked in. Surprised by this, Felix brought out his gun and started to fire upon
Rasputin. He escaped with five shots in his back but was later captured by Felix and his gang
and thrown into a river, bound in layers of carpet. A few days later, after the new year to be exact,

5. Eyewitness Testimony Experiment
The aim of this experiment is to investigate the effect of leading questions on eyewitness testimony
when asked to estimate the speed that a car is travelling in an accident. Participants were asked two
questions in total. The first question was regarding the speed of the car with contrasting verbs
(crashed/collided), the second questionasked was whether there was any glass at the scene of the
accident.
The hypothesis predicted that changing the language used in eyewitness testimony will affect
memory. The DV was the participants estimated speed of the vehicles, and the IV was the noun that
was changed in the leading question (crashed/collided). The independent measures design was
chosen, and an opportunity sample of 13 participants (N=13) were used. ... Show more content on

Disease: Scarlet fever
B. Scarlet fever is an acute and communicable disease. The symptoms associated with scarlet fever
are a red rash that feels like sandpaper, a sore throat, and a high fever. It is a disease that mainly
affects children who are 5 15 years old, but anyone can get scarlet fever. (CDC, 2017). Scarlet fever
is acquired through a bacterial infection caused by group A strep (CDC, 2017). This group A strep
is the same bacteria that causes strep throat (CDC, 2017). The fever is acquired when Group A
strep bacteria inhabits a person s nose and throat. Scarlet fever is caused by group A strep

Many college students have struggle with school, work, and their personal life responsibilities.
Once you become a college student there is a lot of struggles. College students tend to demonstrate
that no matter what they tried to manage their life. Also, you tried to do all things possible to
accomplish school, and have have at least free days or times in their life. There is severals ways
that successful students manage work, school, and their their personal life. To begin with, one
way how successful students manage work is by finding the appropriate time to work. An
example is, I seen many of my colleagues how most of them didn t make it to class or left early
from class to go to work. Either today I haven t had an issue right now with coming late to work.
Collegestudents tend to have a higher expectation to go to work and make it on time. It s
demonstrated that balancing work depends on when you can work while going to school. Most
of college students to be successful at school go to work right after all their classes are done.

The definition of Dystopia is an imaginary place where the inhabitants are exploited and control is
maintained through oppression. Both The Scarlet Letter and The Handmaid s Tale reflect
characteristics of a dystopian novel. A dystopian novel is usually fictional and futuristic to the time
in which it was written. The characters are made to worship a concept or figure as a way of
control. Characters are subject to an irrational fear of what is outside their environment and the
issues raised in the novel are commentaries on contemporary society at the time.

Toulmin Analysis of Attraction
In The Mystery of Attraction, Harville Hendrix claims that attraction between human beings is
based on a number of factors that ultimately leave human beings baffled on exactly how humans
experience such intense emotions as seen in romantic love and why so many couples tend to have
complementary characteristics. He supports this claim by explaining several theories of attraction.
His biological theory of courtship states that we instinctively select mates who will enhance the
survival of the species (483). This theory suggests instinctive evolutionary attraction such as a

The backing for his warrants takes the form of a list which depicts ten main characteristics of a
marriage. Most of the characteristics are based around the subconscious mind of humans, placing
much emphasis on the basic needs and desires of a person. The results of a poll are also included
at the end of the essay which reinforces the author s exchange theory.
As a qualifier, Hendrix states that Although these three theories help explain some aspects of
romantic love, we are still left with our original questions (484). He says that despite a plentitude of
research, the answers remain a mystery.
Critique: I found this essay to be enlightening in several ways. Not only was the information
presented in an organized way, but it was also very interesting. I agree with the author s statements
about the trials and tribulations of relationships, and I find myself agreeing most with his
biological theory of attraction. I especially liked the psychological direction of the essay, as it
remained fairly objective and scientific while still presenting new and different ideas as witnessed

11. Occult and Supernatural Elements in Macbeth
Although Macbeth is not classed as being a supernatural play or a play of the occult, there are
some elements in the play that Shakespeare uses to effect. It is necessary however, to define what
is meant by the terms occult and supernatural : the term occult is defined as being supernatural
beliefs, practises or phenomenon and the term supernatural is defined as being attributed to some
force beyond scientific understanding or the laws of nature ; both these terms can be associated
with gothic writing. Gothic writing usually involves elements that invoke a feeling of fear,
repulsion and abhorrence from its readers or audience. Writers use imagery of the supernatural to

This dagger represents the point of no return for Macbeth: he can continue to follow the path and
kill the King or he can turn away from it all. When the play is being performed, stagecraft plays
an important role in making the appearance of the dagger as dramatic as possible for the
audience. In Roman Polanski s 1971 film of Macbeth the camera shows Macbeth s point of view
with a glowing dagger in front of him, then cuts to a side view showing Macbeth facing empty
space. Shakespeare intended for the appearance of the dagger to be visually dramatic and so
stagecraft is important when invoking emotions from the audience associated with this supernatural
image. Similarly to the dagger, Macbeth imagines the ghost of Banquo appearing at a banquet in
Act III Scene 4. At first Macbeth believes that the ghost is real and that others are able to see it, as
Shakespeare writes:
Which of you have done this? ...
... Thou canst not say I did it; never shake thy gory locks at me.
Macbeth suspects that someone has staged the appearance of the ghost of Banquo but then he
addresses the ghost himself by denying his guilt Thou canst not say I did it . The ghost of
Banquo is seen as a symbol of Macbeth s guilt: he feels guilty that he had his companion killed,
albeit not done by his own hand, and so he imagines the ghost of Banquo as his conscience is

12. Biblical And Mythological Allusions Of Moby Dick
Moby Dick is Herman Melville s masterpiece, a purposeful novel that acts both as a documentary
of a sea voyage but also a philosophical allusion on life as a whole. Moby Dick is far beyond its
time in reference to its use of allusion within its text. In this novel, Herman Melville frequently
uses biblical and mythological allusions. With these strategic allusions, the reader is able to
begin to understand the topics of discussion within the book and is also exposed to the wisdom
and potential knowledge Melville possesses. Melville uses many Biblical and mythological
references in the form of character stories, which I found beneficial in helping interpret the texts
meaning (Howard, 27). This paper will discuss the Biblical and Mythological allusions that
Melville s use in Moby Dickin the hopes to develop a deeper understanding of the issues Melville
was hoping to address. An Allusion is a brief and indirect reference to a well known person, place,
thing, cultural, historical, or literary work (Delahunty, 24). As Described by Andrew Delahunty in
the Oxford Dictionary of Reference and Allusion, allusions form a colorful extension to the English
language, drawing on our collective knowledge of literature, mythology, and the Bible to help us
connect and interpret literature (26). Though an allusion is used to reference something significant,
it does not describe in detail the person or thing to which it is referring too. Writers often use
allusions as just a passing comment

16. Total Forms Control Case Summary

allowed Western to offer these value added services to their customers that most of their
competitors did not. Total Forms Control should have increased Western s margins and helped
them to increase the loyalty and number of customers. TFC was not performing up to
expectations. It had become an increasingly time consuming process and profits from TFC had
been consistently declining over the past several years, projected to drop a total of 14% in only

4. Distributing services using activity based costing reveals that Customer A is a highly more
profitable consumer to Western than Customer B, despite identical net sales (see attached).
Customer A uses less storage, delivery services, has fewer requisitions and a smaller inventory
balance, making them a more inexpensive customer to service, in comparison to Customer B.
5. An analysis of the individual customer accounts suggest that TFC s current pricing model is
ineffective. They are undercharging an alarming number of their customers thereby reducing their
overall profitability. Based on this information, managers will hopefully elect to implement the
services based pricing model so that customers are charged based on the services they are actually
consuming. Ideally, changing the current pricing model will resolve the issue of customers
reducing profit by 140% and 60% (Exhibit 8, numbers 3 and 4). If there are still profit draining
customers, management should revisit and assess accordingly, either further increasing fees to
those customers so their contribution is positive, or perhaps dropping these customers to increase
overall profitability.
6. I think the largest issues in adopting Service Based Pricing would be the opposition from the
salespeople and the customers. In most cases, fees will increase and it s unlikely that this change
will be welcomed by either party. Western may lose customers if

17. Analysis Of Ivan O MahoneyGo Back To Where You Came From
In fostering effectual discovery, experiences must offer renewed understandings of the world, of
which individuals are willingly receptive to. This willingness to challenge presumptions, often
conditioned by contextual rigidity, heightens emotional and intellectual awareness, thus compelling
meaningful connection with foreign people and places. Such is explored in Ivan O Mahoney s
episodic docudrama, Go Back to Where You Came From (2008), which urges participants to revoke
shielded attitudes in reassessing human understanding. Alike, the innate curiosityof individuals
conjures unexpected, transformative discovery, communicated distinctively in Sally Morgan s
autobiography My Place (1987). As responders, our reception to the composer s manipulation
catalyses our own discovery, thereby inviting us to challenge personal perspectives in nourishing
intensely meaningful discovery.
The extent to which discovery is embraced relies on the willingness of individuals to be
ideologically receptive to their experiences. The influence of discovery may not be determined by
the level of planning involved, but one s willingness widen their perspective of the world, accepting
places and people foreign to them. Whilst the mise en scene of the beach in the opening interviews
establish Adam s sheltered and apprehensive response to the refugee issue, his commitment and
continual engagement on the Go Back journey accentuates the transformation he experiences.
Through the perceptive arrangement of indirect interviewing, close up and mid shots, Adam s
reality check at Villawood Detention Centre proved both intellectually and emotionally
transformative, symbolically summated in O Mahoney s concluding image of this participant s
reflection with his passport, tenderly appreciating the safety of his home. The director purposefully

After death has occurred, a basil leaf, clarified butter, and a piece of gold are placed in the
mouth of the deceased so that the desire for wealth and food is satisfied (Gupta, 2011, p.254).
As far as disposing of the body, some people choose cremation; some choose a burial and some
even leave the body in the Ganges River. The funerals are very simple and elegant, which
represents respect for the deceased (Gupta, 2011). The behavior associated with bereavement is
very different to western culture. In India, Hindu family members are expected to cry and wail
loudly as it is considered healthy to have an outburst of strong emotions. Lack of loud wailing by
the widow and other family members of the deceased is considered pathological (Gupta, 2011, p.

Carp stated that around the early 1580 s, Europeans adopted tea for the first time.Coffee and
chocolate were also introduced to Europe around this time. These beverages did not make an
impact right away because the taste was very bitter. The beverages started to boom once sugar was
added. The plant, camelia sinensis, produces all pure tea. All the tea that Americans and Europeans
consumed came from Chinese soil until the nineteenth. Ever since, India, has the most well known
varieties of tea.
The East India Company was the primary exporter of tea to the colonies. Before the Boston Tea
Party, they stood for 3% of all goods sent to the colonies from England. They exported an
estimated 70,000 pounds (currency in U.K.) of tea a year. A merchant once estimated that each
American drank over two pounds of tea a year! Tea was consumed in households everywhere. Tea
became a necessity along with sugar and tobacco. Tea was on the rise, so Americans spent their
hard earned money on accessories that complimented their tea.

21. The Importance Of Sustainable Development
During the course of the semester, I continue to placed high emphasis on the Brundtland
commission because it give birth to the word sustainable development which environmental policy
makers continue to relied on to enhance environmental protection. Authors of International
Environmental Law and Policy for the 21st century, Nanda and Pring, write, The message of the
Brundtland Report was that it is possible to achieve a path of economic development for the global
economy which meets the need of the present generation without compromising the chances of
future generations to meet their needs (Nanda and Pring 2013, 27). The Brundtland commission
provides is a clear indication that society should place emphasis on creating focus create sustainable
economic program aimed at providing renewable resources and reduce our consumption of
nonrenewable product. To achieve this concept of sustainability, corporations have a leading
responsibility to make this a priority to enact policies and implement governmental regulations in
achieving sustainability. With this been said, I agreed with Stuart L. Hart, that multinational
corporation have the moral responsible to enhance environmental protection. Hart writes Business
more than either government or civil society is uniquely equipped at this point in history to lead us
toward a sustainable world in the years ahead (Hart 2010,19). Over the years, globalization, politics,

This is a consequence of the erosion and breakdown of the cargo, releasing copper, creating the
sediment to have high toxic levels and adverse effect on water quality, primarily achieved
through the copper leaching ( Application For Resource Consent (MV Rena) ). Usually copper is
a natural element, however when copper is in high concentrations, such as, scraps (clove) this
increases the toxicity of the element itself. If cloves were to be released within the sediment of
the ocean its impact would be less to an extent as its not in large quantities. However the effects
would last longer as the cloves take longer to break down. The effects on the environment can
reduce growth in population of several species from algae to birds (The Rena Project) (H. Lucas
and A. Horton). Overall there are two arguments that involve both the release of copper (large
quantities which can be toxic) in relation to the removal of the Rena (WATER QUALITY AND
ECOTOXICITY). If the whole removal of Rena were to take place, it would expose the risk of
large quantities of copper to be exposed in an aquatic state, in the long term it could be beneficial
as it would not only restore mauri but also remove any large quantities of

sentences, use correct grammar and punctuation and the list continues. Over the last ten years is
when writing has really come into play. I ve been assigned numerous assignments that have
required writing which has taught me my specific writingstyle. A few things that I like about my
writing style consist of the following: I consider myself a creative writer, I have a fairly good
vocabulary and excellent grammar. A few things that need improvement in my writing are the use
of commas, run on sentences and the formatting of my papers. Although those specific writing
characteristics may be basic they are the three that are most challenging for me.

24. Quixote And The Insanity In Man Of La Mancha
quot;Man of La Mancha quot; is the story of Alonso Quijana, a poor gentleman from
Spain. He has read so many of the exaggerated romances of chivalry that he
finally believes them to be his reality and sets forth as Don Quixote, a
knight errant on his old horse seeking many misadventures. And while this
insanity may be an object of distress for others, Quixote s madness is
comforting to himself.
And all he reads oppresses him . . . fills him with indignation at man s
murderous ways toward man. He broods . . . and broods . . . and broods and
finally from so much brooding his brains dry up! He lays down the melancholy

right thing by tending to the injuries. This way comforting himself by
correcting the wrongs of quot;mans murderous ways toward man. quot;
Despite his noble deeds, Quixote is still looked upon as a crazy old man
by those around him. As Senor Carrasco tries to convince Quixote of who he

hunger. . . cruelty beyond belief. I have heard the singing from taverns and
the moans of bundles of filth on the streets. I have been a soldier and seen

26. The Spiritual Revolution in America
I m spiritual but not religious. In today s society, it is a trendy phrase that many people often use
to describe their belief that they do not need to be affiliated with an organized religion in order to
live a faithful and fulfilling life. As life becomes more frenzied and chaotic, people assert that they
do not have the time to engage in organized religious activity and turn to a different alternative, one
that can be less limiting and narrow minded. While spirituality means something different to
everyone, at its core, spirituality provides our lives with context. It arrises from the connection one
has with themselves and one s search for meaning in life. Spirituality can take many different forms,

The group that we call religiously unaffiliated consists of those who identify themselves as atheists,
along with those who describe themselves as agnostics. And then the single largest part of the
religiously unaffiliated are people who say their religion is just nothing in particular (NPR). Smith
also mentions how many of the people who say their religion is just nothing in particular are of
a younger generation. Even pop music singer Pink says, I love Native American spirituality and
paganism, and I ve studied Buddhism. I think organized religion is one of the top problems of
the world actually, so no, I d say I steer clear of religion and go straight towards spirituality
(BBC). The rise of this type of spirituality has been driven by a sense that religion is out of
keeping with modern values. People associate religious organizations with constraining doctrines
that do not allow one to think for themselves. Others also view religion as narrow minded and
prejudicial, stifling the growth of the human spirit. Or worse, some people contend that religion is
the worst of all evils, responsible for all the wars and conflicts around the world (the persecution
of Jews, endless wars of religion, religious intolerance that leads to terrorism...). Lastly, it would

29. Traditional Culture Vs. Lean In Health Care
Lean culture is the combination of defining customer value, aligning around a common purpose,
striving for perfection while at the same time respecting and developing employees (O Rourke,
2017). A Lean culture is an important component of a lean program. It serves as the framework in
which lean tools and techniques are utilized. Without a receptive culture, the lean principles will fail.
Leaders must champion a lean environment aligned with the mission, vision and values of the
healthcare organization. In addition, leaders are tasked with creating an organization culture that is
receptive to lean thinking (Going Lean in Health Care, 2005).
A lean culture differs in many ways from traditional organizational culture. Since the traditional and
lean way vary widely, a conversion requires re conditioning of all those involved. The following
table shows the differences between a traditional and lean culture. Table 1. Traditional Culture
versus Lean Culture.
(Going Lean in Health Care, 2005).
A successful and sustainable lean culture requires new behaviors that start at the very top of the
organization. Leadership can drive the Lean culture change process by setting the behavioral
expectations. The behavior and actions will only produce a culture change if they are modeled
from top to bottom. Leaders must remain committed to the process as a new way of doing business
(Rubrich, 2017). They must constantly drive the same message, involve everyone and guide the

Roman fabulist, Phaedrus, once wrote, Things are not always what they seem; the first appearance

preconceived ideas and will make erroneous assumptions about others. It is difficult for some to see
through a fictitious exterior that one might fabricate. For example, in Death of a Salesman, the
characters view of Willy Loman drastically changes over the course of the play. In the Death of a
Salesman, Arthur Miller exploits the audiences view of Willy s character throughout the play via his
interactions with others.
To start, Willy is first characterized as a successful, esteemed salesman. Willy would frequently
tell Biff and Happy of the admiration others had for him; for example, Willy informed his boys
of how he met the Mayor of Providence for coffee. When the boys were young Willy would
often mention his success any chance he got. Therefore, as children, Biff and Happy adopted
their father as a notable role model. Because of Willy s remarks, the boys viewed their father as
a very successful, well respected businessman. For instance, Willy told them, I never have to
wait to see a buyer....I go right through (Miller 21). Willy s incessant speeches of his success only
reinforced the flawless persona he had created. Willy had a tendency to exaggerate his mediocre
sales and success. The boys sole perspective of their father were the fictitious stories he told. In the

In today s society, liberty is seen as the presence of free choice in an absence of restraint
/interference. For John Locke, liberty is freedom form any superior power or authority and every
individual has equal liberty. For John Stuart Mill, liberty can be positive or negative: positive
liberty is the possession of full freedom while negative libertyis the absence of coercion/restraints.
He claims that positive libertyprotects everyone, including the minorities and women; whereas
negative liberty is harder to achieve. As discussed later in the paper, Locke and Mill would
recognize the United States as a free society. Martha Nussbaum is a feminist liberal. For her,
feminism and liberalismgo hand in hand because the combination would allow women to preserve

United States as completely free because of the lack of appreciation for feminist liberalism.

If you own a computer, tablet, or smartphone, you already use the contributions of George Boole to
the worlds of technology and mathematics. Boole, an Englishman, was an intellectual who was
interested in many fields including poetry, languages, science, and metaphysics. However, it was
his interest in mathematics that drove him to pursue knowledge in many areas of the subject, and
he went on to write numerous papers and volumes on a variety of mathematic topics. Boole s

On his website, Luke Mastin explains, Boole began to see the possibilities for applying his
algebra to the solution of logical problems...determined to find a way to encode logical
arguments into a language that could be manipulated and solved mathematically, he came up
with a type of linguistic algebra, now known as Boolean algebra (Mastin). Boole devised a
simplified system assigning symbols and connectives (such as AND, OR, and NOT) to
statements comparing sets of things or ideas. He used a binary system that processed two
objects (i.e. true and false ) that can be applied to any logic statement. This logic system was
later used in computer programming (by assigning a 1 for true and a 0 for false, for example) and
in electrical circuitry (Mastin). Boole wrote and published many academic documents and papers
including On a general method of analysis, in 1843, and Mathematical Analysis of Logic in 1847.
However, his most important work, and one that defines his legacy, was his An investigation into
the Laws of Thought, on Which are founded the Mathematical Theories of Logic and Probabilities,
published in 1854, in which he explained the ideas that would become Boolean algebra (O Connor
and Robertson). The concepts that Boole developed and illustrated in his documents laid the
foundation for computer programming and contributed to the explosion of technological advances
that have happened since. Boolean logic is the basis for almost anything that is

There has been only discontent and disunity . While in the United States there are people similar

Russell illustrates that promote racism, violence, and disunity. I mostly disagree with Thomas
Paine because, while there are times of peace; justice; and concord, there are far greater
instances of oppression, privilege, and riots. Two examples of oppression in the America come
from the book Their Eyes Were Watching God written by Zora Neale Hurston. Janie, a black
woman living in the post civil war South, is oppressed by her husband, Logan Killicks, when he
yells at her, Ah ll take holt uh dat ax and come in dere and kill yuh! You better dry up in dere! Ah
m too honest and hard workin for anybody in yo family, dat s de reason you don t want me! (38).
Logan disrespects his wife and puts her below him by saying he is more honest and diligent than
her and her family, showing oppression in the America on a personal level with husband and wife.
An example of oppression on a more communal level is with Jody, the mayor

42. Reaction Paper On Bullying
There are many times where we are observers of other people s behavior whether negative or
positive and do not give it deep thought unless the behavior impacts us directly. We may go
about life with the belief that good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad
people. Then when a bad thing happens to a good person (or vise versa), we then take the time
to analyse how can this be possible and whether it is fair or not. Now imagine that you are
raising a well mannered child who respects others, but comes home year after year letting you
know that she is being bullied at school. You then wonder what can your child be doing wrong to
deserve this, what can she do differently, and you can t seem to understand why your child who is
a good person is having bad things happen to her. Bullyingin fact causes serious health issues as
well as social and it has been estimated that around 30% of children are victims of bullying in the
adolescent years (Garland, Policastro, Richards, Miller, 2017). In the past schools and parents did
not look at bullying as an issue and many times the bullying went unnoticed because it was
considered the norm and a part of growing up. In turn this can be a reason why people blame the
victim for what happens to them and not the victimizer. When these thoughts cross our minds, we
are participating in a Belief Just World Phenomenon. The Just world theory started because the
world has the duty which goes without saying that we as humans

43. Human Rights Violations In Venezuela
Since the early 2000 s, Venezuela has struggled with their government and citizens have revolted
as a result. Human rights violations have become a big issue in Venezuela and there has been a
lack of responsibility taken by those who commit these violations. This problem has progressively
gotten worse over the years and as the situation in Venezuela worsens. Venezuela is still a
developing country and its citizens have been losing more and more rights instead of gaining them.
However, it has been difficult for other actors to intervene because of the complexity involved with
these issues. Human rightsviolations are serious and need to be controlled before the country gets
to the point where it can no longer be fixed. The situation in Venezuela has gotten to where it is
now mostly due to factors within the country like the oppressive government but also other indirect
factors like its relationship with the United States and the lack of help from outside actors. Once
understanding the causes that led to this state in Venezuela, change can be implemented so that
peace can be created within its borders.
Venezuela began getting rid of its democratic government during the presidency of Hugo Chavez in
the early 2000 s and continued into the presidency of NicolГЎs Maduro in 2013. Both men put
overwhelming power on the executive branch while also taking away many rights from their
citizens. As the government became more and more oppressive, this prompted civilians to protest

44. The Ideas Of Kierkegaard And Pascal
There are some questions in the religious domain that reason cannot answer because there are
situations in every religion that cannot logically be explained. Religions are not rational; therefore,
reason alone is not adequate enough to validate religious truths. In this paper, I will demonstrate
how reason and faitharen t separate entities and how both are needed in order to explain all
religious truths by examining the ideas of Kierkegaard and Pascal. I will also give a detailed
explanation of fideism, show examples of irresponsible fideism and responsible fideism and then
argue in favor of responsible fideism; faith fills in the gaps that are left void by reason.
A truly authentic faith is not one that is established upon the root of reason and scientific facts, but
rather transcends those human accomplishments and challenges to understand God and the world as
we know it, through an existentialist view. Belief should be purely a matter of the will. To have
ultimate and unwavering faith in God, and Christian belief, is impossible to comprehend and that
is exactly how the great theological philosopher Soren Kierkegaard saw the Christian faith. He
stated that Christianity is unfeasible and is ridiculous in its claims of God becoming man. Blaise
Pascal was another philosopher who had a somewhat different view of God, and faith. He
explained that reason and faith were not enough to believe in God. According to Pascal, it was
somewhat easier to have the choice to believe.

Ethical Health Care Issues Paper
Health care staff governed to perform their professional duties based on the practice acts from the
professional licensing boards under the statutes of the states. The professional duties include the
balance between competency in skills, and application of ethics that will help promote the
provision of the quality of care to the public (Harris, 2008). However, there are ethical health care
issues that health care professionals encounter with their patients. One ethical health care issue is
the refusal of a patient for treatment, such as receiving blood transfusion because of his or her
religious beliefs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The validity of the informed consent should consist of three factors. First, the patient is competent
to give an informed consent by verbalizing or acknowledging understanding of the nature of the
treatment plans. Second, the patient should give consent willfully without an undue influence or
threat from other individuals. Third, the patient should receive full disclosure, including the risks,
and benefits of the treatment plans from his or her physician (McInroy, 2005).
The ethical principles of beneficence, and nonmaleficence from a patient who is refusing blood
transfusion believed that refusal of this treatment would honor the benefits over harm. Based on
the values practiced among the Jehovah s Witness members, the harm resulting from receiving
the blood transfusion will cause a dismissal in achieving an eternal salvation. Nevertheless, the
harm resulting from refusing the blood transfusion will create less harm, which is the end of one
s mortal life on earth. The belief of the Jehovah s Witness members pertains to a rational decision,
which the eternal salvation preferred substantially compared with the additional years of
temporary life on earth (Macklin, 2003). The ethical principle of justice from a patient pertains to
a fair, and equal provision of respect regardless of the patient s cultural or religious beliefs.
However, the

46. Songs In Animal Farm
Knowing the correct information
One of the main theme in Animal Farm was the use of power in order to control animals in lower
class. This theme was seen through Napoleon s control of songs, propaganda by Squealer, and
intimidation. Animals who were not literate were exploited by the upper class, pigs.
Animal Farm used the songs to control animals in lower class by upper class. The songs were
Beasts of England and Comrade Napoleon . At first the animals sang a song Beast of England after
Sunday s meeting, The Meeting always ended with the singing of Beasts of England , and the
afternoon was given up to recreation. (Orwell. 31), this was so effective to control animals
because they deepened their unity by singing and increased awareness animals. In this book, the
song of the Rebellion named Beasts of England gave a power to animals Even the stupidest of

47. Mary Barton By Elizabeth Gaskell Analysis
Ever hear the phrase, you have to read in between the lines? Authors commonly include broad
metaphors in their works in order for each reader to have their own interpretations of the topic.
In this passage, Mary Barton, written by Elizabeth Gaskell, George Wilson, a worker, goes to
the house of Mr. Carson, who is the owner of the mill where he is employed. He makes this trip
to request help for another worker who is dying of typhus. Gaskell was able to show a clear
depiction of social differences between a town that is heading toward poverty and a wealthy
family living in opulence, allowing her reader to understand the clear message she was writing.
Because of Gaskell s close selection of detail, shiftment of point of view, and inclusion... Show

In the conversation between Thomas and Wilson, one can see that Thomas speaks less properly
compared to the individual he is interacting with. The dialogue reveals that Thomas has an
accent with words such as, mysel instead of myself th instead of the and ha instead of have. A
widespread belief is that the lack of money is equivalent to the lack of an education, which is
displayed to be true within this section of the passage. The stereotypical way to show others one
has money is to speak like it, Thomas obviously demonstrates that he was not taught this manner.
Also in this conversation, Wilson had not said a word. Readers are lead to believe this was in his
perspective, but in actuality his silence shows it was third person. Wilson and Thomas represent
those who grew up in poverty, they either are taught the English language inaccurately or they are
taught to be quiet. The difference between social classes will always stay as a dominant universal
theme within novels, stories, and plays. In Mary Barton, the contrasted is depicted through her
implied metaphors and detailed illustrations. Her characters, the Carson s, exhibit the misguided
acceptance that those in poverty are simple to abandon and easy to replace. Elizabeth Gaskell is able
to compare and contrast the groups of people with her flawless diction,

48. Diet Is The Right Fit
This table provides a quick glance at what each diet provides.
With this information someone can choose which diet he would like to try. Each person is
different and has different tastes so not everyone will pick the same one of these options. Once
the choice is made based on personal preferences the person should take a few months before
deciding how he feels about the diet. This amount of time is long enough for a habit to form.
Habits generally take 21 days to form but this time span also allows the person to see if they get
the result they want and decide what they think about it. If the person feels like the diet he choose
is more of a burden but still wants to try other diets, he should go back to evaluating the
information he originally found and choose another one. He can continue to do this until he found
the diet that is the right fit for him and does not feel like a chore, or until he thinks it is too much
of a high involvement. One of our group members showed high involvement when looking into
each diet. Since it was something she did not know about she put in information to see the results
she would get for each diet.
For each diet she put in her age, 21, height, 5 5 , current weight,145 lbs, and weight goals,130 lbs.
The Atkins diet did require more information like what size her waist was, if she was pregnant or
breastfeeding, no, if she was prediabetic or diabetic, no, and if she prefered a more flexible diet or a
strict diet, flexible. Based on her

49. Persuasive Essay On Healthy Food
Healthy Foods Are Not What They Seem Don t do drugs! We ve all heard this popular slogan or
statement used before somewhere in our day to day lives; especially as teenagers going to
public schools. As students, we learn at our schools the dangers of all of the different types
drugs and what they could do to us if we take them and get addicted. However, one issue that we
do not talk about at schools is the dangers of unhealthy foods and the effects that it has on our
bodies. In some cases, this is even a bigger epidemic than the one from drugs and is giving
people in many cases diabetes and death. Children every year are growing up more and more
obese with the numbers increasing only as time goes on and foods get worse. With that being
stated, I believe that these kids should not have to suffer the consequences of eating the bad
foods and should get educated on what is actually good to eat. The school of education needs to
take into account these issues and make it so that students have to take mandatory classes on the
food topic and how to cook better foods. Taking a class on such a thing not only benefits the
students and their lives, but the future of America as well. The worst types of food that a single
person could consume are the fast, processed foods. According to Mark Bittman s article, Bad
Food? Tax It, and Subsidize Vegetables, he claims the average American consumes 44.7 gallons of
soft drinks annually (75). This is a serious issue due to the fact that it

Migraines often continue despite undergoing neuroplasty of the occipital nerves. In addition, there
are procedural related side effects with this procedure such as numbness and hypersensitivity.
Occipital nerve blocks have the potential to yield positive results for both occipital neuralgia and
migraine headache, thus creating a diagnostic overlap between pure migraine headache and
occipital neuralgia induced headache. Thus, it should also be pointed out that misdiagnosis may
result in a false positive result for occipital

51. A Professional Code Of Ethics
Copyright laws are important more so today then ever before because the ability to copy and
distribute intellectual properly and pirate electronic content has increased with the advancements in
technology and globalization. As members of the student body, University of the People students
must understand the detriments of plagiarism, piracy and ensure they protect Intellectual Property
and respect copyrightlaws. Developing a professional code of ethics as a computer professional,
will help navigate our careers and help us make proper ethical decisions and choices.
Intellectual Property
The University of the People s Intellectual Property policy requires we respect individual
property rights and abide by US copyright laws (University of the People Catalog, 2015, p. 83).
The University of the People does not tolerate plagiarism. Plagiarism violates Individual Property
rights by failing to credit the author s work. According to WIPO, Intellectual Property refers to
creations of the mind, creative work such as books, music, movies, photos, web content, and
software (WIPO, n.d.). Everyone has created Intellectual Property at some point in his or her life
and no one wants it stolen. Innovation flourishes when ideas can flow, but stealing from the author
will only lead to stifled creativity and resentment. When we build upon the work of others and our
own ideation takes root, we must give credit to its origin. Increased awareness of Intellectual
Property rights will

Pronoun and Connection Languages (Bandwagon)Bandwagon is perceived by Media Literacy
Project (2013) as one of the basic persuasion techniques due to its easy recognition, as well as
frequent application. During an analysis many instances of this technique have been identified both
in the manner of specific pronoun language and connection language. Bandwagon implies to
broader audience ( everyone, [or at least] cool people ) i.e. users of a service or buyers of a
merchandised product, and urging other receivers of an advertisement to jump on the bandwagon
(ibid.). Analytically, pronoun language may be the linguistic tool that enhances the bandwagon
technique. Through I self commitment, You/we group creation and He/she/they out grouping the
speaker commits his view, shows his care of the listener, offers a solution to a problem and creates
a bond with him (Changing Minds, 2002 2013). Moreover, so called connection language (use of
with/without, this/that and us/them) which aims at attaching and pushing away derives benefits
from associative way of thinking, thus join identities of people making them a part of themselves,
and so forgive, approve, and agree with [themselves] (ibid.). When talking about second person
pronoun you in English advertisements, its presence has been observed in almost each of analysed
ones contrary to the Polish ones. For the purpose of showing the
